He's an ok teacher and does go over the work but not well enough for me. I'm quite bad at math and I dropped the class I knew i would fail. Thanks God for Summer classes.
Never talked about the hw, and doesnt want to answer ur question. Teach very fast. test is not so hard if u know how to do it only. if u take his class, u may drop it. Strongly not recommended.
WOW... this prof. is BAD... he tests so fast, HW is very little but it's hard, plus never go over the HW, sigh~~ once u take it... u will DROP after the first lesson... so... think about it. PEACE!
Explains everything clearly... U'll finish the material early in the semester... usually late and let's u go early... Will probably miis class few times... but a very good teacher... pay attention and u'll get a good grade... weak in math then don't risk
Don't take him if you don;t know anything about calculus. He don;t solves any homework problems and he just gives the example of every lesson and rest you have to solve by yourself. Not good grader. Go for someone else if you have a choice.

If you did good in other Calc classes, then you'll get an A in his class. If not and you actually want to learn, he wouldn't be the best teacher to take, although most others are probably worse.Tests are straight from class problems.Comes late, leaves eary
Awful teacher to take for Calculus..he doesnt review or help you at all..He crams everything in last minute..a final n a quiz back to back plus the final coming on Friday..no wonder people do so horrible..take someone else for better results!
Awful professor..runs away after class and comes late then rushes through the lesson!! no review and he puts everything crammed in..no time for anything and he doesn't help at all.
Don't Take Him!Comes Late,Leaves Early.Teaches class by standing in front of what he writes Doesn't go over homework.Gives 4 quizzes drops lowest, 2 midterms-Tricks u.Not helpful. Takes attendance. You need to have a tutor.Every1 in the class does.
He checks HW sometimes, but only explains 1% of the HW problems.
stydy the problems of the day and u will get an A. Yes he is wierd but his tests are easy if u study.
IS THERE NOT ONE GOOD MATH TEACHER IS THIS SCHOOL...THIS IS ONE OF THE WORSE ONES IN THIS SCHOOL..GET OUT AND SAVE YOURSELF BEFORE YOU GET LOWER THEN YOU EXPECT!
this is the worsest teacher I have ever seen in my life. He doesnt know how to teach. I think he just wants to make some money and go home. He never care about his students. I dont know why he can still stay in this school.
doesnt kno how to teach but he's an easy grader. 4 quizzes, 2 midterms, 1 final. sounds like alot but they are easy, drops lowest quiz. questions come straight from the textbook so make sure u do the homework and you'll be fine.
very easy class.. enthusiastic about teaching.. but can be condescending at times... just do the homework and take notes.. easy grader.. i got A's on all the tests... it could've been worse with another teacher..
He is perhaps the worst professor I've had, so far. Always walks in late and wants to leave early. You don't learn much, so you must really do a lot of independent studying for exams. He is an easy grader, so that is certainly a good thing. If you take him, just study the material at home.
his voice is disgustingly boring... he s tryin his best to put yu to sleep. condesends students tat ask questions.and doesnt kno wuh yur askin .. if yu want to sleep. pik him. BORING..
Easiness: 4 quizes (drop lowest) + 2 exams (one on integration, one on series - that's how the course is split) will count for 2/3 of grade, other 1/3 is final. Helpfulness:Exteremely unhelpful. Will have to study on ur owndon't understand something - too bad. Always, comes late and leaves early. Good: goes over prerequired knowledge for the top
Does go over the material fast, wastes time over some unimportant toppics, leaves early, hard to contact him, thinks that everything is easy, expects students to know how to calculate problems on the calculator but DOES NOT teach how to do it at all, vague,DO NOT TAKE HIM!!!!, You have to coppy his tests from the board, doez not print them out
First we have to know that all calculus courses are difficult.Even though he isn't available after classes, his teaching is clear & he explains many times in class. Have several quizes/exams but drop lowest grade(Good for us)If you do your homework regularly it's an easy A. No HW,forget A.Overall a good prof but he certainly isn't an easy prof.
this professor is not good don't take him plzzzzzzz . He don't listen to you and never helps you.
nice prof with a little bit sense of humor
I honestly do not recommend this prof.coz. everybody says he is easy grader. but on the first quiz so many students got F. I finally drop the class. Especially A LOT OF TEST. 4 Quizes and 2 Exam and 1 Finally ( total 7) NO GOOD!
first off, he is an ****. i once forgot my calculator for an exam and he sneered at me. wth?! anyhow, his teaching style makes you feel inadequate and he is no help in clarifying. i do hate this man. i could discribe him perfectly using only curse words..really if you have any other choice, dont take him. consider yourself warned!
Poor Professor. Tends to explain concepts fast, often unclear, and seems to put down students. Teacher is NOT recommended for student who have trouble with math. He consistently leaves class ASAP, w/o allowing students to talk with him after class. It seems as if he does NOT like teaching. Avoid if possible.
easy to understand, not bad
one of the worst professors. almost killed my gpa (dropped it because of him). lectures were too fast and vague. couldn't teach for anything. very disconnected with students (not accessible and no attempts at helping students). AVOID HIM - take him only if u need this course and everyone else is taken.
He usually rushes through classes and is sometimes not really clear when it comes to explaining topics. He is always late also. However, if you do all your homeworks and ask him questions, you will learn a lot and he will help you out- you just have to get on his good side. That is my recommendation if you plan to take him.
THIS GUY IS THE F'IN MAN. knows calculus like the back of his hand. he comes off as a hardass, but his test are totally fair. every single problem is out of the textbook. hw's aren't graded, but don't expect to pass if you don't do them. only bad part is attendance, but other than that i highly recommend him.
Ok prof. Very knowledgeable. Explains the material clearly, but class is hard. You have to study on your OWN!!! No way around. He doesn't curve but is a fair grader, drops the lowest quiz (not exam). Be determined to work hard, do all the HW and u'll get a good grade. I'm gonna drop this class because I couldn't do enough HW to catch up for an A.
If you are not strong in math, I advise you not to take this man. His tests were too hard for no reason. The departmental final was child's play compared to his tests. He also gives daily quizes, so if you don't do your homework everyday, you will fail them. He also stops the class to tell people to pay attention, stop moving, rustling papers, etc.
I think he is a great professor. The class isn't very difficult. I didn't do any homework, but still end up with an A. He's always late for classes about 10 mins. So you can late too. And he finishes the class about 15 mins earlier.
Whoever said you don't need to work hard is lying. I got an A, but I put in the work. The homework is key, his test problems are very similar to the HW. Don't give up if you mess up in the begining, I got a C on the first quiz, but then I studied my ass of and got above 93 on everything for the rest of the semester. Good luck.
ummm... if you're not really organized meaning you don't need to check your work, you could take him. Or if you are really fast worker on the hard integral/series problems, you can take him too. He's quite knowledgeable but his tests and quizzes are hard. His quizzes are actually tests in disguise. The quizzes take all of the class time.
dont take this guy hes the worst / weirdest professor ive ever had...he knows his stuff but he cant teach for his life, yells at you when u ask questions & goes lightning speed. Dosent ever review for any test and his tests are 10000x harder than anything done in class save yourself and dont take this guy ever!!!
If you want to pass the class the first time with an A, then you either need to have taken calc in russia (or some other hardcore math envir.), or you need to study extremely hard and get a tutor. Like someone else said before, he cant teach at all.
worse professor ever
this class is tough, you have to study HARD IF YOU WANT TO GET A GOOD GRADE. Prof. is a very fair grader I don't know why people write bad comments about him. His test are very very FAIR. TAKE HIM>
Easy prof. , study and do all problems that he tells u and u will get at least a b+
I have Jordan this semester and his midterm was super easy, class average on the midterms was around A-. Ignore the negative comments because they were posted by people who dont study!
This guy is so nice, and tries to help you. May seem odd at first but when you talk to him, you get to see how helpful he is. Calculus 3010 is it self hard, but many people got A on the midterm because he used many similar questions from classwork, people who say hes hard either dont study or pay attention. This guy is one of the better math prof
easy class if you do the homework, can easily get a B+ if you keep up with the hw and dont slack off. Prof. Jordan is also very helpful, but only if you ask him for help.
4 quizzes, 2 exams and 1 final. He drops the lowest quizz, I attended his class during fall 2007 got an A. If you do the homework you will be fine, no tricks during the exams. you can email him if you do not understand something, he is helpful. His class was interesting.
great professor. Very clear. If you want an A though you have to take good notes and do homeworks. If you can't do them by yourself he goes over the hm the next class. The hm is not graded.
Overall I suppose he's an ok teacher. To be honest though he's kind of a jerk. He basically has no patience and freaks out at times. You'll do ok in the class as long as you do the HW. The HW is where he gets all his questions from. Watch the video's online they teach you way more than he does. You'll either do really great or not. It's all on you.
rushes through everything,,, if u ask a question he shuts you down... then expects you to do good in his class, he's the worst
Rushes through the material, often late to class, but gives lots of extra points on tests/quizes and drops lowest quiz/test grade. This will be a very do it yourself class so those that are weak in math will most likely struggle but an A is easily manageable with a practical amount of effort.(As long as you somewhat know what you're doing in math)
Very easy!!! It was a lot of work but only for the first test, for the next two tests didn't even do homework anymore. He was teaching better further in the semester! Got an A. He gives many opportunities to bust up your grade. He really prepares for the final.
Easy to pass his class. adds 50% to your webwork and that equals one quiz grade, drops lowest of 6 quizzes and that average is one exam gade, and 3 exams and drops lowest exam. so easy to understand, just show up to class and do practice finals!
It is an easy class. he does a good job to teach students in a crystal clear way. need to do hw to improve your math skills and understand his lecture better. No need to read textbook.
I got a C in his class but I could have done better. There are better professors out there but if you are good at math and dedicated you should do well. Read the book and do the WebWorks. Prepeare for his quizzes and study the practice finals, many of his exam questions are taken from those sources.
He's extremely clear in his teaching, spends a lot of time on topics and goes over anything anyone doesn't understand until they do. He gives you up to 8 absences, drops 1 quiz, test, and webwork quiz. Only hw you need to do is webwork. Tests/quizzes are easy and he's a VERY easy grader, lots of extra points. He's corny as hell but a good teacher.
He is a relatively easy teacher. He explains things really fast, but then reviews them like a hundred times, so you can pick it up at one of his go arounds. His tests are straight forward, and he prepares you for the departmental final. The real key to this class is put in the time, and you will be fine. OVERALL: TAKE HIM!!!
Well if you're taking the class for the 2nd or 3rd time, then take him. If it's your first time taking it, stay away. Rushes through everything, review at the end but first timers will most likely fail. Okay professor, but if there's better available take them. 3 tests, 6 quizzes, webwork homework. .. and the hard dept final.
If you do not like reading textbooks and self-studying, I do not recommend his class. He spends 1/4 of the class on the actual topic and the rest on review. He likes to say everything is "obvious" or "easy", though every student in the class stares at him confused. He skims topics in class.
Best math professor!!!He gave three exam, three quiz, and one final!he would drop the lowest quiz and exam!!!His teaching was very well and helpful! easy to understand!the only thing is that he doesn't go over the HW,but everything is pretty good!!!!
Really a very nice professor. Teaches in a crystal clear way, goes over the materials many times so that the students really get them. I would highly recommend him to anyone.
One of the best math professor I have ever taken. He is very lenient and helpful. It's very possible to get an A if you try.
He has a very clear style of teaching. He goes over things again when people ask and is available to talk after class. He is lax with attendance and you only have to do the online homework. The class was difficult for me but I think his style of teaching helped me understand it better.
Do yourself a favor and try to stay away from this guy, he is the most condescending teacher I have ever encountered in my life. He's really smart but his attitude gets in the way of his teaching environment and it makes you not want to do anything.
Avoid him at all costs. He's really mean and obnoxious and pretty much made me (a huge math nerd) dislike math for the semester. His tests and quizzes aren't really hard but you have to teach yourself the material before because he just runs through it. Overall, I would say if you can avoid him you should. But if you're desperate, you can pass.
He is not a bad professor, however, he kind of runs through material. He doesn't like when students ask him questions, which is not a good thing, since we are in college to learn. If you are not very good in math, it is better to take another professor, who'd spend more time in explaining the material. If you are good in math, then good luck!
he will get you through precalc. if you struggle with math show some interest and he will guide you in the right direction. class is structured perfectly to allow extra review for final. it was a pleasure to be in his class. make sure you study hard for second in class test
If you're taking anything past Calc I, this is the teacher to have. I pretty much failed all his exams, and did well on the final. There's a lot of self studying, but that's just how calc is. Every question you' be tested on in class is something that he has already discussed, just study and do the homework (even though he doesn't grade them)
2nd time taking this class and I did really well. I wish I took him first because I feel like I would have passed 2205 the first time. You have to practice!! Otherwise you would not understand the material. He gives you material to practice, which all came on the final, so use whatever he gives you. Study hard and you can get an A
Worst Professor at Baruch. If you struggle in math he is the worst choice you can make. He is condescending to student and does not answer questions, laughs when student do not understand. The course material is straightforward but no extra practice for the test and quizzes. He does not teach how to use the calculator but puts it on tests.
Hilariousss professor at Baruch! Please avoid him if you can. I failed his class because of him. Worst person ever. If you're 10 mins late he will mark you absent. He should be in mental asylum not in Baruch
Calc II is a hard class so don't expect it to be easy, however, it is very possible to get an A with this professor. DO ALL of the hw questions assigned on the syllabus, it is literally practice for exams. He is so straightforward that he tells you what to expect on exams so that you know what to review.
he is a good professor. be aware: " 1. he goes through stuff really fast. 2. he will tell you exactly what to expect on the exam. (so study for it!) 3. he's an easy grader. he only takes off 1 point when you make a calculation error (sometimes the question could be worth 10 pts for example) 4. no calculator and formula sheet in exam.
Doesn't answer questions well, but is very clear about grading criteria. Gives a quiz which is essentially a replica of the real test one week before the test date. This means you'll probably do bad on the quiz but usually very well on the real test, which counts for a LOT more. Gives 10+ free points each test/quiz, regardless of grade. Take him.
Great Teacher! not the most entertaining but is very clear as to what is on final, and prepares you great for the final. Test's aren't that hard, and he is very thorough in explaining. Take him!! plus he gives tons of extra points!
Even though this professor can be a jerk, he is very knowledgeable and straight forward. He'll tell you the exact format of the exams, quizzes, and final so you basically have to study that and you'll do fine. He will also drop the lowest quiz grade, and gives 10+ on each exam and quiz.
He is definitely not the nicest person, but his notes will definitely prepare you for the final. He knows exactly what's on the final and his quizzes and exams really help you. He usually gives a quiz a week prior to an exam and the format for the quiz is the same as the test. He also gives A LOT of curves.
Bruce is not a very good person, but you're not in college looking to befriend your prof. That being said he was an amazing professor who gave a quiz in advance with the same topics for the exams, he gives extra credit on his exams and he prepares you really well for the final. Study/pay attention in class, it's def possible to get an A
Take him. He is one professor that eats and breathes calculus! In other words, he knows his stuff! He basically gives you all the info you need to pass his quizzes and tests. Definitely prepare you for the final! But, thats just 50%, the other 50 is you devoting your time to studying because this course is not easy peasy.
Bruce Jordan is a wonderful calc professor. As someone who's never been good at math, I can definitely say this professor truly helped me understand difficult concepts. I was scared to take this course after receiving a C- in precalc, but with his clear teaching style I was able to get a B in calc. Would definitely recommend!
He's a decent professor. Has a clear grading system. Explains all the materials thoroughly in lectures so you don't have to read the text at all. Always reviews previous topics before tests/quizzes that are in-class or on MyMathLab. Quizzes basically mimic the tests, so study from them. Just don't be late to class, he doesn't like that.
He can be rude at times but he is an amazing professor. He gives a quiz after we finish a chapter and then give a test a week later. The quiz and test have the same type of question. He prepares you well for the final, tests, and quizzes. He also gives really HIGH curves.
Probably one of the best professors I've had while in college. Each class he begins by reminding you when every assignment is due and when to expect any exams or quizzes. All homework is on mymathlab. After the first inclass quiz he'll review the whole thing and then give you the first inclass exam which is practically identical to the first quiz.
Very nice professor. Very caring and interested in teaching. I would definitely take his classes again!
Prof Jordan is a great professor BUT!! i wouldnt recommend taking him at 8 am ESPECIALLY if youre commuting. aside from that his tests are exactly like the quiz, and gotta study! Would take again but at like 12 in the afternoon
I like this professor. 1) he allows you to sign inwithin 10-15 mins late. 2) the lecture could be hard . I went to SACC almost every week. keep up with the material 3) he will give extra points for the quiz not the final. drop lowest quiz + homework as well. 4) he give guidlines about what will happen in the exam (super helpful) take him !
Professor Jordan is a great guy. Even though I had to retake this class because I failed the first time, it was my fault and not his. If you pay attention this class is easy. No text book use, all homework is online. He gives a quiz before exams and he literally just changes the numbers. Hes very smart. Do the homework, practice and you will pass.
The MOST annoying professor i've ever taken. Literally no communication with people even when you're confused. "Review" is going over 5 questions from practice test then him expecting you to know the rest. Will follow you outside the classroom if you want to look at your phone. 10/10 would NOT RECOMMEND! save yourself the time and energy
He can be rude sometimes but man is he a great teacher. I passed Calc on my first try because of Professor Jordan. There is a quiz before every test and he drops the lowest quiz grade. Mymathlab consists of 5-10 questions each. He assigns textbook homework but you dont have to do it since he doesnt check.
He's a good math professor, especially if you're a math major/minor. I took him for a higher level math. That being said, he expects you know your basics, and you should. If you know the basics and you follow and take notes, there is no reason you shouldn't do well. His tests are exactly like what you do in class, and super clear. He's great!
He is a really nice professor and goes over everything clearly. This isn't the class for you if you want to be a bit more social as he chastises you if you do. If you just do what you're told and follow the class, it should be an easy grade.
This professor was very discouraging when asked a simple question based on the material in class. Did not want to discuss review after class and left immediately at the time class was over. Be prepared to work hard yourself because this professor does not seem to want to go over examples.
Great professor, I took college algebra twice and pre-calc twice. But with Bruce Jordan, I passed on my first try. Attendance is mandatory, but I also wouldn't recommend this class if you are not a morning person. He is hilarious as well! Math 2205 isn't an easy course, but the way he teaches makes it less difficult.
Dont take him
Professor is super strict and does not curve anything, told the class the final was super tricky and didnt even supply a curve. Quizzes every zoom session and doesnt curve those either. The whole class complained for a gpa booster but didnt help us either. Really strict if u wanna understand calc do not take him
Good Professor, his lectures are very clear, but you need to study and know the basics. He gives quizzes every class. That helps to keep up with the material. He also reviews the material before each quiz, not so much before tests though his instructions are straightforward. It may be tough to take this class early AM but certainly worth it.
Professor Jordan is very nice and caring, I recommend to take this class with him. You must practice a lot to pass this class, he expects you to know the basics. He gives 6 quizzes which help you to prepare for his exams. Also 3 exams + final, he curves and wants you to pass with A. His MML homework is pretty short and does not take much time.
Professor Jordan is very nice and cares about students' grades just like other comments wrote, he doesn't offer that much hw on MML although he will offer the hw that on the practice exam which he will not grade and check. But this is a key that can help u to prepare for the department final exam! Also, gives a curve on your exam and the quiz !!!!
Just OK. You can certainly do better for Calc II, he does have a bit of an attitude/is very smug. There is no substantial curve for the grading, only a couple points here and there. Not the worst professor, certainly far from the best however.
Hybrid-course, very old, the focus is always blurry, teaches quickly (if you don't get it the 1st time that's it!). Doesn't give time to ask questions, assumes every topic is easy because he's done it so often. HW posted as the course goes on. Clear quizzes/exams (in person), walks around & checks for cheating. No curves/extra credit. GO TO SACC!!!
Do not skip/be late to this class unless you want to be behind. I think Professor Jordan is good at teaching the materials you learn in Math 2003 with demonstrations. You must pay attention and study w/ hw & his extra review. Each class ends with a quiz about the previous lesson. Professor Jordan also put out grades fast. Got 92% in my final.
Good professor, pay attention to the lectures, study a lot, be there on time
He gives quizzes before every class that are just variations of test questions (he reviews how to do it before giving the quiz). He also uploads a practice exam before every midterm (there are 3) that is just a variation of the actual test. These two factors make the course very manageable if you study.
Professor gives you the exact type of questions you need to know for every quiz and exam and teaches you how to solve it. If you listen and go over his material it is very easy to get an A.
Horrible and rude. He doesn't answer questions and gives LONG quizzes/tests. If you don't get it right away, too late. Online, focus is blurry, and he talks too fast to take notes. Makes mistakes and whites out everything; tiny handwriting; his notes are useless. Tells students "this is baby calculus; you should already know it" instead of helping.
Bruce Jordan exemplifies what some colloquially refer to as the real deal. He wants to teach you, and he gets through to just about anyone, but under no circumstances should you expect better than a C if you coast.
Not the worst but not the best. I think if ure already pretty good @ math you'll be fine. The way he explains stuff is kinda like he expects you to know how to do it already. Theres a quiz every week but they're easy. Had to teach myself a lot of stuff (I am mediocre at math). He is kinda passive aggressive but he's nice for the most part.
Received an 89. It's not an easy class in general but this professor at least tries to make sure his students understand. You can just raise your hand every time he stops and finishes a question. He will go back and ask which step you don't understand then further clarify. You just need to pay attention in class and do his assigned work.
Bruce is definitely not a professor for everyone, but I would not have been able to pass, or get an A if I took another professor. He can be passive aggressive at times, and he is always late to class and always ends early. He is a very lenient grader, which I appreciate so much. Drops 3 quizzes, just do the work and pay attention and you'll pass.
The professor has a specific teaching method, but engaging with it pays off. Lectures are helpful, and using tools like unstuck ai for study prep can really aid learning. Attendance is a must.
Prof. Jordan is the only reason I was able to pass MTH 2003. I took it once before, and I had to drop it. He is great. He is very straight to the point, and will end class once he finished the lecture or quiz. Exams were just like the quizzes, final was a little difficult but its departmental. You will appreciate his exams prior to the final.
A great professor who will really teach you the subject and not just read slides or something like that. I only got a B because of the final which was from the department and I didn't prepare for it a lot so it's my fault. I really recommend this professor, take his classes if you are ready to study and then you won't regret.
this prof saved my life by being so consistent. weekly quizzes, 3 exams, and a final. material on exams is very similar to what is on the quizzes. if you put the work in, practice, and use the quizzes as a diagnostic on topics you understand / don't you will do well in the class.
I took Professor Jordan for Calc 2. Now I will say this professor does have a prick attitude at times. However I personally believed that he taught you what you needed to know. There are quizzes, 3 exams and a final. He essentially taught you what you needed to know for all of them and even gave review for exams and final. You do need to put effort
Professor Bruce sticks mainly to facts, he makes sure that you understand the topic by going over it and letting you have time to do it and giving MML homework which has unlimited attempts. Yes there was quizzes every week but 1 out of 3 dropped for a total of 3 dropped. Final was easy,Take him if you want to pass!!!!
Actually enjoyed taking his class, but warning about 9 quizzes, 3 exams, and the final. So basically quiz every week or every other. He make sure you understand the topic, goes over 2-3 times. Goes over what is on the quiz and exam. Encouraging you to understand the content and help you pass. Make sure you attend most of the classes.
If u can take another prof im sure there's better, he goes thru everything rly fast and he makes a big deal in front of everyone if ur late or need to use the bathroom. Not helpful in extra help, this class u have to put in A LOT of work on ur own but he doesn't make it any easier. I passed from studying all the practice finals on my own and chat.
Really well-structured class. He provides the exact types of questions that appear on quizzes and exams, so you always know what to expect. Sometimes his explanations can be a little hard to follow, but the course is very organized and fair. One of the most precise professors I've had—he gives a clear path to getting an A if you put in the work.
