the class wasn't that bad. the exams were pretty easy, are able to take all but the final with a partner. he tells pretty bad jokes.
He is the coolest teacher I have ever had. He keeps things light with jokes and such. Definate recomendation.
The class is pretty straight forward. You can take the first two test with a partner and you are on your own for the final. He has a great sense of humor. Sometimes he is funny. He gives great visuals. I'd take him. A GREAT TEACHER!
The class can get really boring at times. The tests can be tricky sometimes.
Pretty blah course and tests are hard.
Very understanding guy. There are two tests you take with a partner and a final you take alone. The class is not edge of the seat materaial, but he tries to keep students interested. He tells corney jokes and explains concepts very clearly.
He was funny but extremely boring when it came to the actual material....the class was just boring, hated it actually. 3 tests, fairly difficult but still managed to get a B....
He tries to make the class interesting, but can be rather long-winded about a topic. He has pretty hard tests, but is fair in that he tells you what he is going to have on it (t/f. mult. ch., short answer).
Awesome profesor! One of the best i´ve had. corny jokes (but i liked them). Pretty easy class. Good lectures with powerpoint.
cool teacher with a sense of humor..
This class is boring to begin with and Meglino is a pretty monotonous himself. Though he lets you take the first two exams with a partner, these exams are pretty difficult. Don't really need the book, notes are usually sufficient. If I could do it over though, I'd have taken someone else.
BORING, wow, I don't ever say things are boring, but this was nearly unbearable. I didn't learn one thing, and Professor Meglino was not very helpful, but I guess you can't be in a class of that size. Too big of a class for such a broad and rambling course.
Not the most entertaining class but Meglino is a great guy. If you see him during office hours he clarifies any problems.
Quite possibly the worst class I have ever taken. Tests are partner tests, but still hard. Is EXTREMELY long-winded and gives WAY too many examples when only one would suffice. Plus, there are times when he'll go on for half an hour on COMPLETELY irrelevant things. Avoid him if at ALL possible.
He is sooo hard. Do not take his class! I studied 2 weeks in advance for all of his tests, read every chapter, studied all the notes, and still barely passed with a C. DON'T TAKE HIM! Class is decent, no attendence, but tests are IMPOSSIBLE and unclear. Multiple choice are incredibly difficult.
Gives lots of notes in class, says they will be on the test, they arent. Tests are very difficult, even if you study ALOT. A good guy, but the class is unbelievably confusing and hard.
This professor was so unhelpful! You get to work with a partner on two of the tests, however that doesn't help at all. m.c. were impossible. I made low Cs on the first two exams.I went to talk to Meglino and he was very unhelpful. He did not show any enthusiam at all to help me as a student.AVOID HIM
This class is very difficult. Partner tests are OK if you know someone taking it, however the tests are still almost impossible
Do not take this class! Besides the fact that it is boring as hell, Meglino is unclear, unhelpfull, and flat out rude. After studying all night for the final, he stood directly in front of me and held a 15min conversation with the asst. I had A's in every class this sem. and got a D in MGMT!!!
This is the worst college class I have ever taken. His tests are the most ridiculous thing ever. He is a smart ass that gives the lecture as he wishes and then the tests are so long winded and too detailed, I absolutely learned NOTHING- don't do it.
Meglino can be dry and boring, but it REALLY IS NOT THAT HARD! Especially for BA majors. Take the test with a partner, tests come 90% from powerpoint/lecture and are really not difficult. Basic memorization and common sense. He tries to keep you entertained with corny jokes and personal stories. He's really pretty good and even interesting at times
This guy is a little boring. Tries to tell jokes and stories to keep you interested. Class is pretty easy. Just take powerpoint notes. A few questions on each test come from the book, but they really aren't too bad. Not that bad of a class. It's not edge-of-your-seat fun, but definitely bareable and you'll learn some stuff you can actually use.
Not as bad as people make it out to be. He tries to make class interesting with his dry humor, but still he's extremely monotone. The first two tests you can take with a partner, but the exam is cumulative. I've made A's so far...but I've studied a lot. The class is bearable, but you do have to read the book.
No attendance, 2 tests and a final..the two tests can be with a partner...If you read the book and study the notes he gives you than you will do fine in the class...I have a B and do not really study that much...
I wish I took this course before my intership. If you want an easy grade take someone else. If you want to learn the stuff you need, this guy is your friend. I am in the course now and can't wait for class most days. He really knows his stuff and makes you understand it.
Really good teacher! He knows what hes talking about. People say you have to read the book but i havent touched it and i have a B in the class. Just pay attention in class and you'll do fine!
I hate all of the people making excuses about how they recieved a low grade. This professor IS NOT THE EASIEST one in the managment department. However you will learn so much. I am not even in the buisness school and this was my favorite class this year. YOU MUST attend class to understant the material (only 5 question come fromt he actual book).
Okay I didn't like the class, but not because he isn't a good teacher. I'm the kind of person that has to learn things hands on, and basically you have no work in this class to help you learn it. No study guides- nothing. I even asked him if he could make one for us, and he said the notes are our study guide. There was A LOT of notes. If you'r
He is a nice guy. He tends to ramble. His humor is very dry. the class is okay though. the material is boring. the tests are fair. go to the lectures and you will pretty much be okay.
Meglino is a great teacher. He is very good at what he does, u will learn a lot and make an A if you go to class. there are two exams and a final. the exams are somewhat dificult because there is a short answer section and he does ask some questions from the book. I recommend this teacher.
Everyone in every class played sudoku most of the time. The tests are straight from the notes. There are three tests, the first two with partners. Multiple choice and short answer style. No homework, interesting class but monotone teacher. Low maintenance class.
2 tests with partners & final alone which is worth 40% of ur grade. Thats what sux about the class. EXTREMELY BORING! So hard not 2 fall asleep but he's a nice guy I got a C+ b/c the final screwed me!
Very interesting lectures. It's in your best interest to go to all of the classes. He doesnt use the textbook and his tests come straight from the notes in class. This was one of the first classes where I had good attendance in my life. He uses allot of examples from the real world to tie the information. Great teacher!
I liked Meglino's teaching style. He gives great examples and shows videos to help you understand. It is not hard to get a B+ in this class. Very possible to get an A. Lots of kids thought he was boring, but I thought the class was interesting.
Must attend class to get notes and skim over book chapters. Not a lot of info but can be very detailed with test questions. Great professor, very intelligent and well connected guy. Take him. Partner tests and individual final are all that make up your grade so don't screw up.
he's a very sweet man that tries very hard to get you interested in the topic. his jokes are a little corny, but he does liven up the class with them. read the book chapters before exams, he tests on things he doesn't talk about.
THIS PROFESSOR SUCKS, I read all the chapters and went to all the classes and I made my lowest grade ever in college because he doesn't know how to test on what he teachse. He tells you to read the chapters and then takes off points for putting the book's defintion. His final was cumulative- everything in his lecture and 7 cps was covered!
The class overall isn't too bad, and the information is somewhat interesting. But, the first two tests can be taken with a partner, and the final is solo. Taking the first two tests with a partner makes them very easy, and the cumulative final covers 10 chapters and is simply too much to know what to study. Overall, not bad, but poor testing.
Dr. Meglino is a nice man. He makes lots of corny jokes but they really help to lighten the mood. He's not kidding when he says the class is harder than you'd think. He tests from powerpoints and from the book, which he doesn't cover and is ridiculously boring to read. Grades are based on two tests and a final, so it's easy to screw up.
Would not take again. I have a gpa of over 3.8 and will be lucky to come out of this class with a B. The tests are hard and straight memorization. There are no assignments to test your knowledge of the material just three surprisingly tough exams. His lectures are rambling and barely topical. His lack of humor makes this class brutal. Stay Away
Dr. Meglino is a nice guy with past experiences in the business world that he brings to the class. However, lectures are a huge waste of time (and boring) because all he does is give you a largely abbreviated rundown of the chapters. The tests seem overly difficult, and he apparently wants you to memorize the textbook. I'd go with somebody else.
He's a great teacher. Attendance is not required but you need to attend to get the notes or borrow someone's to copy. There are two tests and the final. There are also two opportunities to receive extra credit. The first two tests you get to complete with a partner of your choice. I recommend him.
Large auditorium class, relatively interesting. He has good knowledge and humor, but his grading and testing is NOT good. Gives 2 test and a final, rambles in class, and expects you to read wayy to much for almost no purpose. Also DOES NOT GIVE PLUS GRADES. You will get an A, B, C, D or F. Forget about 89, still a B. Probably should avoid him
He tries, uses real life examples that can be interesting. Nice guy, but same lectures from slides every single meeting. He does use blackboard to post slides so you have to attend all classes. Not very good reviews. Overall the class was not very good.
He really tries to be a good teacher and would like to help but the class is to large for his teaching style. So just be sure to get all the notes and study them closely before the exams. Also look over the book because he takes about 5 questions from there that was not covered in class.
Class is huge and extremely boring. All he uses are powerpoints and doesn't put them online. if you dont have the exact wording on the test. you get it completely wrong. its not an easy A. taking notes and attendance is neccesary to succeed. would not recommned.
AVOID AT ALL COSTS! Lectures will put you to sleep. He is not helpful. Posts no study guides. Short answer questions have to be exact. Exams are very specific. You must go to class and take very detailed notes. I suggest typing them up for easier studying.
Went to every class and studied a ton for it, but still only got a B+, exam was just too much info to memorize it all. Gives extra credit that helps. Make sure to go to every class or at least get the notes, bc that is the test, also must go to class for the ec signup.
It is impossible to make an A in his class. I tried my hardest and still ended up with a B. attendance is not mandatory but class is super boaring. I think the class was way to big for him to teach. His microphone never worked and no one could ever hear him.
It IS possible to make an A. It's just real hard. You NEED to be in class to take notes word for word though attendence is not mandatory. Write everything down- even if it's an example and not a written slide. Do the reading if you want an A and memorize his notes. Didn't do well at first, but I ended up with a B+ in the class. Hard class.
I worked my butt off and just found out I got a B+. You can't bs your way thru this. You have to know the stuff. I think this stuff will be real useful b/c he brings his own experience into class. You can take the first 2 exams with a partner but the final is alone.
He has a very monotone voice, not much enthusiasm. He tries to be funny and some of his material is actually not bad. Meglino starts the class usually by playing a classic rock song. I hardly opened my textbook and I got an A that said he does ask about 5 questions per test directly from the book. Hes a pretty decent prof. for this course.
He's a nice guy, but his quizzes and tests are quite hard. You sit in class taking notes from powerpoints all day, occasionally he rambles on about himself, and then none of that shows up on the surprise quizzes. You'll need to read the book, and learn lots of vocab for the tests. I DEFINITELY wouldn't recommend him if you have a choice.
Meglino is a nice guy but a boring professor. Takes the entire class to cover about 20min of material. Tests and quizzes are pretty difficult. Make sure to read the book... it's essential to getting a good grade in his class since there are so few notes.
Hes an alright teacher. Likes to talk and usually rambles when he is lecturing. There are pop quizes and they do count 25% of your grade. Study the book and pay attention to odd random facts he throws out there and you'll do fine.
The tests are too hard for the material. He gives random pop quizzes. You have to have the book to excel in class. You have to do a lot of work and reading for his class. I would try to avoid taking him.
Very knowledgeable, has alot of interesting stories....overall good guy...good teacher
He will take 5 best of your 8 quizes worth 25% of your final, which means each question worth half point to your final grade. No curve. And he give different final grade for final even they have the smae score totally!
doesnt take attendance, but you HAVE to go to take the quizzes. not only are they 25% of your grade, but most of the questions are on the tests. study notes and quizzes before each test and you'll ace the class
Very straightforward. Quizzes come directly from the textbook, and tests come directly from the quizzes. Do the reading, take the quizzes, and you will do very well in this class.
50% of the quizzes and tests are from material in the book not covered in lectures and the other 50% comes from the powerpoints he gives in class. Can't get powerpoints anywhere else so although attendance isn't mandatory I would definitely go to class. 8 pop quizes and 5 count.
Dr. Meglino's quizzes are fiendishly difficult, but if you read the textbook and pay attention to his [interesting!] lectures, you should have no problem. Learned more in this class than any other this semester. Pay close attention to him and read the text, and it'll be smooth sailing.
Dr. Meglino is possibly the most boring and useless professor I've had in 3 years. The exams were not that difficult, you just need to read the vocabulary in the textbook. By the way, studying/reading is on your own, he teaches on 5% relevant info. You have to go to class for pop quizzes, though, which are on the exams. Not too hard, but not easy.
If you do the work, you will do fine in the class. Pay attention to key words as he usually hints what maybe on a quiz or exam. Doing the reading is key to success. Great teacher and not bad to look at. Does he still show that hot picture of him with one leg up on the back of a truck?
This class is so boring. Attendance isn't mandatory but he does have pop quizzes. He rambles on and on and on and on and lectures only about 10% of what is on the quizzes/tests. The other 90% you must learn by extensively reading and studying the textbook and vocabulary.
Ay carumba, this guy goes through a bunch of lectures and tells jokes and all of that is great for entertainment during class, but he will not give you any lee-way on what you are supposed to know for the exams. The most he will tell you is to read the chapters (which is pretty evident to begin with). He wasn't horrible though.
Meglino is one of my new favorite professors. He is hilarious and keeps the material relevent and enteraining. The only people that complain about him are the ones that are too lazy to read the book like he tells you to do. If you keep up with the reading, it is an easy A. He is a wonderful professor and his powerpoints and lectures are amazing.
Meglino's exams and quizzes are impossible. I haven't missed a class and read the chapters before each exam and still do horrible. Lectures are boring. He doesn't take attendance but gives pop quizzes.
His quizzes and tests are very confusing and meticulous. Very difficult to consistently get good grades. Go to quizlet to study for random quizzes and tests, I wish I had discovered the site earlier.
Anyone that says this class is hard clearly did not do their homework or take good notes. If you read the assigned chapters before class, you will do well on quizzes. The tests are legit the same quiz questions plus a few more so if you study those and your notes and do the ready it is an easy class. Don't let his lecture about hard exams scare you
People complain way too much about this class. His quizzes can be tricky but if you've done the reading and taken good notes at every class you'll do fine, plus he drops three. Then half of his test questions come straight from the quizzes. Go to class, do the reading and review vocab regularly and you will get an A.
Mr. Meglino is the hands down the worst educator I have ever encountered at any level during my studies. I taught myself everything because his lectures are off topic and did not prepare me at all for the exams.
Meglino is an awesome teacher; he can definitely ramble but he really isn't that hard to follow. His tests are 50 lecture/50 textbook, attendance isn't mandatory but he does have pop quizzes - study your notes during class and you will be able to get a B or A on the quiz. Take the quizzes seriously they're worth another test grade
Honestly, Dr. Meglino isn't that bad. As stated before, his exams are 50% notes, 50% textbook. He doesn't post the notes online so be sure to go to class. He also has pop quizzes which can be helpful to study for an exam. He is very nice and caring, but comes off as intimidating. Take him, and you'll learn a lot.
Take decent notes, read before class and pay attention to do well. He's pretty easy, and the quizzes are harder than the tests.
If you read and take book notes as assigned you will be fine in this class. Always attend although it's boring so you don't miss a pop quiz. The quizzes and the tests are about even but if you use flashcards to study you can definitely ace it. He offers one extra credit. All in all it's a a boring class but he really know what he's talking about.
The most boring lecture class I have ever taken. I thought this class would be super easy so I bombed first test. Test and quizes are kind of tough. You have to learn the notes from lecture and stuff out of the book. 3 Tests, 8 quizes. Tries to be funny, but its not really. Toughier than you expect.
Wouldn't recommend. Assumed the course would be pretty straightforward but he makes his tests and quizzes much more difficult than they should be. Learning all of the terms in the book is a must if you want to do well on the tests. He rambles a lot during lectures, but quizzes count as much as an exam so it's essential that you show up for those.
This class is very straight forward. quizzes come straight from lecture or the book. IF you read you will succeed but apparently that is too much to ask from a majority of these reviewers
Do not take this class if you're LAZY! I slacked off most of the semester and only read gray sections in textbook. Ended the semester with a B. For the most part quizzes and exams are straight forward. He drops 3 lowest quiz grades. Quizzes are extremely helpful on exams!!
Mr. Meglino does not require you to go to class but it is encouraged because he gives 8 pop quizzes throughout the semester which make up 25% of your grade. There are also 3 exams which are half book and half lecture. I would recommend taking his class because his lectures are interesting, but if you are not a textbook learner take someone else.
If you want an easy A don't take this guy b/c you will have to work. If you want to learn important stuff you will need in management take the course from him. He knows the stuffand has tons of experience. He's easy to understand.
Exams and quizzes were way too difficult and he doesn't do nearly enough to prepare you for them. Lectures very dry and boring. You basically have to study the book and teach yourself everything to even have a shot at an A. He's inconsiderate and way out of touch with his students.
The class is quite boring and it is often a guessing game when you will take the pop quizzes. I learned that you must read the book to do well on the quizzes and they are 25% of your grade so don't blow it off. A lot of test questions from the quiz. If you take notes and read the book he's not bad, just boring.
Not really hard but his pop quizzes are torture, it is kind of a guessing game and ugh. He will switch up the language and it's annoying. I wish I had taken a different professor
Easily put - take this class with a different professor if you can. Such a boring class and his tests/quizzes are much more difficult than they should be.
Meglino makes this class so much harder than it has to be. Quizzes are difficult and are weighted heavily, so if you do bad on the quizzes you're pretty much screwed. Also his exams are insane. There is almost a never clear answer choice. I had to work my butt off just to get a C. Total GPA killer. Outta touch with his students.
Wastes valuable class time with dumb jokes. With the difficulty of his exams it makes you wish he would be going over material instead. Make sure you read all charts, captions under pictures, etc. he puts them on his exams. If you want a good grade plan on memorizing class notes and book word for word. Likes to word things oddly on exams & quizzes.
His whole class is centered around two things. The textbook and his lectures. Make sure you read the chapters before class and take notes on them. He has pop quizzes; 2 before the first test, 3 before the second test, and 3 before the last test. The quizzes can be oddly worded sometimes, but he ultimately drops 3 of them. Tests aren't too hard.
He really isn't that difficult of a teacher, it's just a big boring lecture class and all tests/quizzes are based off textbook and lecture notes. You will definitely need the textbook
He never helped anytime I asked a question all he helped was stating the definition over
Doesn't take attendance but you HAVE to go to class. 8 pop up quizzes that are HARD. Must study for all tests!!! 3 tests including a cumulative final. Seriously makes the easiest class into the hardest class. Take someone else if you can. Or just study a lot. He doesn't put power points on blackboard so take good notes.
Makes what should be a fairly easy class much more difficult than it should be. Gives random pop quizzes so you always need to be prepared for those and his tests are extremely difficult if you haven't basically memorized the terms in the text book and taken really thorough notes. Wouldn't advise taking this class with Meglino unless you have to.
Lectures are tedious, but he provides good information that will be the quizzes. His pop quizzes are difficult- you really must read the textbook. Besides coming to class for the quizzes the textbook could teach you everything if you memorize definitions. Not a hard class, just have to put a little work in
Very specific pop quizzes that come from parts in his lectures and from random little nuanced sections in the book that you would not think matter. Attendance is not mandatory, but you know, pop quizzes. Test are not too bad, *SAVE ALL OF YOUR QUIZZES*, to study from. Do not take his class if you cant learn from reading the txt book!
