HE IS A GREAT TEACHER.
Prins is stinkin awesome!
I had him my freshman year. He's awesome and makes biology fun.
He made biology fun and interesting. My favorite things were that he 1. integrated scripture into the class 2. genuinely cared about students.
he is perhaps the coolest and funniest teacher ever, great guy
I love his teaching style it is very entertaining and helpful. I like how he gives out study notes for every chapter.
Explains material well, willing to provide help outside of the class, which was very benefitial to me. One of the best teachers I ever had, not to mention he is a great person as well.
Dr. Prins has an uncanny ability to teach Biology with a sense of inspiration and awe. He approaches the topic with excitement and personal experience as a researcher, while engaging the students to become as passionate about the subject as he is. He is by far the best professor I've ever taken and encourage anyone interested to take his courses.
Its Biology, it is what it is!Prins is kind, professional, humble, extremely bright and willing to help. Flexible and sometimes allows extra credit. Just go talk to him. He does not have an ego, nor is he pretentious. He is studious and I think on the quiet side. His tests are fair, u get an outline and notice of what will be on tests.I liked hm
Prins is amazing! I loved this class! He makes things interesting and easy and he is such a sweetheart! I loved listening to him tell stories about his family!
Doc Prins is an amazing teacher, he is very helpfull. make sure you get into his lab group. USE THE CD AND READ THE BOOK!!!! study ahead and you will do fine. dont procrastinate like I did. the later you study the harder it is
Prins is by far the best teacher at CBU! He is an excellent teacher and is lectures are very clear. Study his notes and go to the book if you don't understand something and you'll do fine!! He is a kind-hearted person who cares about his students. I'd take his class again if I could!
Awesome!! One of CBU's finest, hands down. Very enthusiastic, teaches with humor and purpose. Doesn't expect the world of students. Very humble and professional. Super approachable and down-to-earth. Take Prin's lab group!! Practi****is a little tough, but manageable. Super helpful to pre-med students, has great connections!! Great prof!!!
By far the best teacher! He is extremely helpful, and always thrilled to help a student out. Has a great sense of humor and makes learning fun again.
Dr Prins is by far my favorite professor CBU has. Amazing character! Hes entertaining! He makes anything interesting with his humorous additions. He explains the material in the most understandable and in-depth way. His tests are tough, but hes willing to help and isnt unrealistic with his expectations of students, who he truly invests in.LOVE him!
Awesome and entertaining teacher; has a great sense of humor that makes learning fun and less intimidating. Class is still hard, so study the textbook and use the cd or myaandp.com!
Awesome professor. Great sense of humor. Great class, but it is tough. You really have to study. If you have to take anatomy and physiology, choose his class.
his anantomy class is hard you shold study for every class but his curve is awesome and dropping quiz and tests help
Fun guy always cracking jokes and asking questions to us. His class is so easy all tests are take-home even the final and the presentations at the end of the semester are pretty fun to watch.
I got C's on all the tests, B average on practicums, and got an A in the class. Would not recommend my study habits for this class (read book last minute). Study hard, and come to class all the time and hope for the best. He is very funny and a pretty good teacher, but your grade ultimately depends on your own study habits.
Dr. Prins is the best science professor at Cal Baptist!! He is so nice and extremely funny! I had him for Gen Bio 148 as well as anatomy. You have to study hard for his tests, but he drops quizzes and curves tests to help you out. Getting an A in his class is very possible, but you do have to study!!
The best professor at CBU. I'm being honest here. He has an amazing knowledge about the Human Body and really knows how to teach it. He cares about every single student in that class, I recommend you get to know him. If he knows your name, even better ;)Really study! I have never studied so much in my entire life but I have learned SO much!
And for bio 163. He is amazing! He is an excellent instructor who cares about his students. He keeps the class room environment fun and entertaining he is able to break down all the subjects to anyone's level or style of learning. I recommend him to everyone! The subjects may be hard but he is extremely helpful and will work with his students to explain the material. I wish all instructors were like him!
Amazing professor! Loves his students and this class. He is so helpful and understanding. Take him!
He talks about is family a lot, then speeds through the material. Material that he does not cover is on the tests. He drops the lowest quiz scores and supposedly curves the grade at the end. My grade was not curved because I ended up with a C and when grades posted I got a C. Study and you will be fine. Lab is easy.
He is a great lecturer, but he tells stories that can cut learning time short. Because of this, he sometimes speeds through material. Overall, the course requires a lot of studying, but it is possible to get an A. He is very helpful outside of class and prepares students well for exams if students choose to make full use of learning materials.
He is such a great professor. Even though he tells several stories he still does a good job of balancing the class. I really enjoyed how real he was with the class as well. He makes the information interesting to learn. There is still a lot of studying required to understand the material, but that should be expected. The curve is really nice too!
Prins is super sweet and has such a kind heart for his students. He truly does care about them, but dont take advantage of his kindness. The class is pretty hard and he definitely keeps it at a tough pace and knowledge for all his health/med. students. You'll definitely be putting in hard work for your grade int his class!
Dr. Prins is nice, but a little hard to approach. He had favorites that made class awkward from time to time but was overall a good teacher. I wouldn't say that he went above and beyond like I had been told before taking his class. Average is how I would describe his efforts.
Dr. Prins is a great professor; he explains the concepts very well and gives you plenty of tools to succeed. NOTE: record his lectures because he ZOOMS through the material (there is a lot of it), and SHOW UP to class. You won't regret it.
Professor Prins is not only an outstanding teacher but is truly a role model, and an inspiration. He does not do pop quizzes. Attendence is not mandatory but strongly encouraged. Studying is key to passing this class and the labs. He likes when you sit in the front row! He grades on a curve which really helps tremendously!
Dr. Prins always makes my day! He is great at explaining things and he is super friendly. I definitely recommend his class!
A really good teacher his tests and quizzes are actually based off of the stuff we go over in class unlike some science classes where information on tests is random. He enjoys what he does and is friendly and funny during lectures. Classes like his are the reason I am a biology major.
Dr. Prins is an amazing professor. The class is hard but he will make you like it. He has such a beautiful story and he is so sweet. He knows what he is talking about Great class!
Dr. Prins makes his lecture very fun and interesting if you take his afternoon course when he's awake. Expect free response questions on quizzes and exams. Studying is crucial and having a study group will be to your advantage. Not an easy A and don't expect extra credit. I learned so much from this course and would gladly recommend it to all!
Dr. Prins is an awesome Professor. There were at least 1-2 quizzes every week so study your but off and reading the book helps tremendously. He drops your 2 lowest quiz grade. Lab was a piece of cake.
I took the Summer T2 semester with Prins with lecture and lab on Saturday only. I would recommend Prins and the Summer semester to anybody. I had Prins for BIO153 as well. He knows what he is talking about and can answer any question! Be prepared to study cause you have to have a good understanding of the concepts for exams. Very fair professor!
Prof. Prins is a great professor, even though the material is difficult and takes a lot of study time taking his class is worth the time. Lab was pretty good, also takes a lot of study time (6-7 hours a week for class and lab) but over all he is a really good teacher and knows how to engage the students.
great professor !! I recommend him!
Prins is a great teacher. The course is difficult, but Prins really makes it enjoyable and eases the stress of the course. He curves grades at the end of the semester, so you don't have to worry too much if you don't have an A or B in the class. He's a hilarious guy and I always enjoy his lectures. Most of his tests are based on his powerpoints.
Dr. Prins is a great teacher! I loved taking his course, you don't use the book at all unless you are a reader. His course it difficult, make sure you go over the slides and go into his office for help! Use the practice exams and always flip the questions. Make sure you quiz yourself daily. He is supportive towards his students! Study daily!
I love Dr. Prins. He's helpful, personable, and obviously knowledgable about his subject. I'd recommend him to anyone, but I would say be very wary of his tests. The best thing you can do is read and re - read his slides. I probably would've gotten a better grade in his class had I done that from the start.
Prins is a great professor. Highly recommend not skipping class though as this is a hard class. Lots of memorization and studying. He is helpful if you ask him. Gives great examples of remembering things. He jokes and they're quirky. Highly liked by students.
Dr. Prins is an amazing professor the was he lectures is very easy to understand, funny, and engaging.
I love Dr. Prins! He made 7am class actually enjoyable. Not only does he know the subject very well, but he's also caring and a true inspiration. Best advice? Memorize and master the slides for lecture, DON'T procrastinate on lab, and study daily! Yes, the class is difficult, but it's worth it in the end when you realize how much you've learned :)
I absolutely loved taking Prins class. He is a caring professor. As long as you don't skip class and study, study, study you should pass his class. Pay attention to his lectures and what he says the quiz and exam questions come from his lectures.
Prins is an awesome professor at CBU. He truly cares about you as a person and wants to see you succeed. It's definitely a tough class and if you don't work for it, you will not succeed, but he manages to keep it interesting. A&P is straight memorization though and you definitely have to commit a large chunk of your time to this class.
Know the powerpoint and do the questions! This class is pure memorization, but Prins does his best to help you understand. Your grade will depend solely on quizzes & tests. You will not pass if you don't study. He literally gives you everything you need to do well online, so make sure you study A LOT. Not an easy A, he really makes you work for it.
A lot of material, but if you stay on top of it, you should be fine. Beware of the true of false questions on the test, he will try and trick you. Also, pay attention to lectures and do the questions he sends out along with the powerpoints.
If you take this class get ready for a lot of T/F and trick questions on the tests and quizzes. He's a nice and funny person and has really good stories, but he makes his class difficult. There is no extra credit for this class compared to other professors that help a lot to help you finish with a good grade.
hardest class of my life honestly lol. you have to put in a lot of studying and comprehending the information outside the class to get a B at least. he is very passionate for what he does and replaces your lowest test with highest test at the end of the year because most people are struggling to pass. very challenging but you learn a lot!!
Pretty difficult class. Definitely study all of his slides (even the ones with pictures) for the tests and quizzes. I created a quizlet for the labs (for quizzes and then later used them for practicums and I did very well). You will need to study A LOT, but it pays off. Textbook isn't mandatory but i used it for extra help. No homework.
Prins is an awesome guy and his lectures are fun and easy to listen to but his tests and quizzes are impossible. He is not specific at all on what will be tested on. He does work with you a lot though when it comes to bringing your grade up at the end. If you have a choice take Heyman instead.
Prins is a great teacher. He made waking up at 6 for a 7am lecture not a living nightmare. The course is difficult, but you will pass if you put in the effort to. Prins is a sweet guy and wants the students to understand. Put the effort in, and you'll pass.
He is so funny and he makes the material really easy to understand with a lot of visuals. Its nice cause you learn in class and don't really need to read the textbook. You definitely have to study, but its not bad if you pay attention in class. He sets up his lectures to make you well prepared.
Probably one of the best professors I have had! He is so funny and makes learning the material enjoyable! I recommend taking his class. He is hard but just study and youll be fine. If you dont study you wont pass.
Prins gives you everything you need to know for the test. It is just a lot of material so as long as you pay attention in lecture youll be fine.
Very funny man and has some great personal stories! This is a class you have to work for to do good in, as expected of most science courses. Very enjoyable teacher and he definitely knows his stuff! I would totally recommend him to anyone who has to take Anatomy & Physiology
Dr. Prins is a great professor. He is very funny and engaging. Be aware that there is no "required" homework, however, he does upload chapter questions and test guides. Since there is no homework, your grade relies heavily on quizzes and tests.
Professor Prins is a great professor and really tries to make lectures bearable. Class does require you to study, there is no homework so your grade is based all off of quizzes and exams. Make sure you study!
Dr. Prins is amazing! This course is extremely difficult but he has taught this for so long he knows how to simplify things. He is a wonderful man and an excellent professor. Go to his office and make yourself known, he has so many students but once he knows you, he won't forget you! I would take him again in a heartbeat if I could
Don't take if you're not willing to work really hard. NO EXTRA CEDIT. Tests and quizzes are very tricky. You have to KNOW all the material not just know the slides. READ EVERY SINGLE WORD on questions.
Overall, Prins is one of the best professors I have ever had. Yes, it is a HARD class, but he truly cares about each student and taught me so much. Not just about anatomy, but also about life. If you are willing to work hard, TAKE. HIS. CLASS.
This is a difficult course, but you will get out of it what you put into it. There is no homework so your grade is just based off of quizzes and test. They are tricky so you really have to understand the topic. He is so nice and I would take him again in a heart beat.
Dr. Prins is an expert in what he teaches. The course is very difficult because of the exams, but if you are a diligent person and willing to spend time dedicated to the material you will be fine. Anatomy subjects are pretty stressful, but his lectures are so enjoyable and you learn so much. Pay attention and just be a good hard-working student!
Prins is a hilarious professor that really knows his stuff. He is entertaining, but he goes fast so make sure to pay attention. His only assignments are tests and quizzes so get ready to study. Also make sure you master the material as he says, because he does have trick questions every now and then. Other than that hes awesome!
Professor Prins is a super nice person! This class is ridiculously difficult, but he genuinely wants his students to do well! Take advantage of his office hours, he will help you out a lot! The only thing is, it can be very confusing where he gets his test questions from, they are not always from the slides or book. Study A LOT, but you will learn!
Prins was one of the best science professors I have ever had. I took him for A&P I and II! He is super nice and gives great advice. His tests are difficult and you HAVE to study a lot for this class. However, Prins makes sure to make lectures enjoyable and knows how to engage his students so that they are awake the whole time. Take Prins for A&P!
This class is lecture heavy. 80-100 slides per chapter and every exam is abt 1-3 chps long. Tests are usually 25 questions, quizzes are once a week and 10 questions. You need to KNOW his material he asks trick questions! He doesnt offer extra credit, but he says he usually curves the class by 6%. Reads directly off slides! Doesnt answer emails.
He is by far the worst professor I have ever had. If you are looking for an easy class this is not it. This is a level 100 class but he teaches it like a masters class. His test questions are on topics that we never learned. They are not in the lecture powerpoints or the book.
Professor Prins is a nice guy, but a terrible teacher. I took his BIO153 class during online learning and it was HORRIBLE! His tests were extremely hard, especially with how he words them. I would not recommend this teacher if youre trying to pass Anatomy.
He would give quizzes every week so you'd have to prepare and read the slides. He would try to use respondus but it didn't happen so we were all happy about that.
Spent more time talking about other topics rather than Biology. Tests were impossible and had trick questions that would throw you off completely.
His lectures are extremely heavy and difficult. You really have to learn how to study properly in order to pass. Its definitely hard but you have to study the slides an insane amount to get at least a B+
Quizes every single week over unreasonable amount of material. Professor does not emphasize any points or concepts during lecture, so it is difficult to focus on any specific topic when studying. Professor simply stands in front and reads the slides.
Hes funny and is very good at explaining things but his quizzes and tests are a bit difficult. Make sure to pay attention to him and what he talks about instead of the slides causes half the stuff on the quizzes and test are what he openly talks about.
Dr. Prins is an amazing professor. This class won't be really difficult if you really spend time learning the material. listen to the lectures! the way he explains things in lecture will be shown on the quizzes and exams. you won't regret taking his class!
His class can be challenging, you have to put the effort into putting the time to study and understand the material, but it is doable! With his quizzes and exams, I suggest really dissect the study guide questions, don't just answer them but actually understand what's asking you. He wants all his students to succeed, so reach out when you need help
Prins was a great professor but get ready to do a lot of studying. Lots of quizzes and exams and he will try to trick you on them.
This is the Professor you need to take all A&P courses with!! He makes lectures so fun and understanding! Exams match up with his lectures and are very doable! Highly recommend!
I think I only had 2 assignments the whole semester, and I completed them 5 minutes before turning them in. That being said, since there are literally no assignments, you need to do them &show up to class or at least sign the attendance sheet. He has very inspiring stories and can really help you figure out your career plans if you pay attention.
Dr. Prins + A+P= NOOOO. His exams are crazy hard with many trick questions and weird wording. He seems like a nice guy outside of class but when it comes to A+P NO THANK YOU. No extra credit opportunities and makes it impossible to pass the class. Take someone else!
Professor Prins is a nice, caring and understanding teacher. He wants all of his students to succeed not only in his class but throughout our academic career. He only does quizzes and exams, so the slides and study guides really help with studying for his classes! He drops the 2 lowest quizzes and 1exam towards the end of the semester, so take him!
RUNNN! Nice guy but his teachings are not. Your grade literally depends on quizzes and exams. No assignments, no extra credit, no mercy. Most of the time hes just reading straight from the slides but when it comes to the exam he is so confusing. ABSOLUTLY HORRIBLE DONT TAKE THIS COURSE!
Really good at keeping students engaged! There are ALOT of lecture slides per chapter, and when it comes to the exams, he words them super confusing. There are no extra credit opportunities and your grade is dependent ONLY on quizzes and exams. You really have to take this class seriously and study days in advance for exams/quizzes.
This class is an easy A. You can sit in the back or even front and do homework. Dr. Prins just likes to talk about himself or the vet field a lot. We did have one or two insightful classes about how to get into graduate schools.
If you take Dr. Prins for A&P I you are done. A&P is such a hard class already, the class is so fast pasted that you need to be constantly studying for his class. You have to study for hours for his exams because his exam questions are very specific.
Dr. Prins is an awesome Professor who cares about his students and makes it a goal to get to know us. I really respect him and how much effort he puts into our well-being. The class is mostly just lectures, and when it's not lectures it is either quizzes or exams. No other points besides quizzes or exams so make sure to be prepared for the exams.
He is really funny, and he is very helpful. Although the work may be hard he tries to help as best as he can. There is a quiz almost every Wednesday. Also get ready to hear about a cheese danish he loves them.
This is like the worst professor to ever teach A&P. His lecture slides are 129+ and even more. He just reads off the slides and does not elaborate. His exams are hard to pass. There is a final in this class that is extremely difficult! Take Dr. Runyon for A&P.
Professor Prins is a great teacher. He gives out old exams that are similar to how his actual exams are. He also drops a couple of quizzes and one exam. As long as you review the slides before a quiz or exam, you'll do fine. If you have any questions, you can always go to his office hours and ask for help!
BIO101 is a pass/fail course, and it is very easy! Attendance is mandatory, but it was really nice learning about different resources! It really is a class to get to know your major and what steps to take during/after college. He is always replying to his emails which was really helpful.
His class is definitely difficult. I failed the first exam because I didn't study properly, you will need to find the best way to study for his exams. Show up to every lecture. He gives quizzes about 1 once a week. If you find your groove, you will pass his class. Good luck!
Professor Prins lectures heavy, so make sure you study, he is also fun and is caring. Lectures were always entertaining. He does give many quizzes, so make sure you STUDY for those. Attendance is very important, one day you miss can lead you to fall behind. Overall great professor.
Dr. Prins is a caring professor that helps students plan their career to get based on a major. He also mainly talks about the goals to set for career objectives and academic success to improve for college. His lectures are interesting and I enjoy having a BIO101 course.
Took Prin's class twice. Failed the 1st time, but got a B the 2nd time. There is a lot of info he has to teach us, which makes the class fast-paced. He does care about us, he is encouraging. He's quirky, which is fun. If you put down that dang phone and take the time to learn everything, then you're chillin'. Dr. Matt and Dr. Mike on yt help a lot.
he was a good teacher but it is the hardest class to take besides the lab for this class
prins is a guy who cares about students, go to his office hours if you miss an assignment or are struggling! He is definitely the hardest teacher for A&P. He gives practice exams, and the questions are sometimes the same, but usually he will change a few words to make it slightly different. Sometimes its unclear which material is most important.
Professor Prins is a great person who truly cares about his students. Be prepared to take weekly quizzes which will prepare you for the exams! Make sure to do well on the homework as it makes up a good portion of your grade. Overall great class.
This teacher is super nice and helped me with understanding how I could improve on classes and lead my way to medical school. The class is super easy as well and he is available often in his office hours as well! Overall this dude deserves a raise!
Prins is a great guy, he is so funny and kind. But, honestly this class takes two brains to pass. It is sooo hard, and it feels like he just reads the slides. Make sure to study super hard for the first exam! if you fail the first exam, you might hang on by a piece of thread for the whole semester.
Professor Prins was a ok teacher. His lectures are good. His study guides are vague, they are old exams that sometimes he uses on the exams and sometimes he does not. You have to just study everything in order to pass the exams but his final was easy. He said he would drop our lowest exam/curve our grade, he lied, he did not.
Great professor! Taking him again this semester for the 2nd course. A hilarious, self-deprecating, dry sense of humor. Lectures are a bit wandering sometimes, but he gives out old exams to help study for tests. I didn't read the textbook really at all, since all necessary info was discussed in lecture or on lecture slides.
Professor Prins' class is challenging, but engaging. While the lectures are dense, his quirky personality makes them entertaining. Staying on top of the weekly quizzes and utilizing study aids like unstuck study can really help you succeed. Definitely worth taking, if you're willing to put in the work.
Dr.Prins genuinely cares about his students success. He does his best to give everyone in his class the resources needed to succeed. From old exams to study, study guides, & the occasional hint during the exams to guide you in the right direction. Definitely worth taking his class.
The lectures didn't really help me. It felt like the whole class was just quizzes and exams, and the lectures didn't explain the material in a way that actually prepared us. I ended up having to learn most of it on my own. I think the class would be a lot better if the lectures actually broke things down instead of just rushing through slides.
Grade is all about tests, only teacher that does not do online final.
