I found his class to be one of the most enjoyable I've taken. He wants his students to have a good time and it shows. Great instructor.

He enjoys teaching and makes the learning experience good for everybody. He isn't afraid to spend 20 minutes of a class listening to stories about your crazy weekend parties. He creates a relaxed atmosphere in his classroom and keeps things good.

Great guy, fun class, the grades are interesting and it is a little on the easier side of most classes, lots of inclass stuff, i would reccommend it and had a great time in it.

I would agree with one of the comments about lateness, but its ok with me. Very easy-going guy! Some of the assignments I wasnt to happy about (Reading assignment # 3) especially. And now we have to write a paper on the movie Meet the Fockers......yuck! Funny movie though!

I was giong to drop this class, glad I didn't. I learned alot about myself and others. Bruce made the class fun and easy to learn, used examples to get us to understand different types of com. Take this class, there is alot of work but well worth it.

COM-113 with Bruce was entertaining and really helpful. Comm skills that I learned in class have already improved my life. I would recommend his course to everyone. I'm not just saying that because he is so buff, I really mean it. Seriously though, it's a great experience.

Very organized, detailed, upbeat instructor. Possibly the best I've had. Great rapport with students, lots of different role plays, scenarios, interesting discussions. You won't fall asleep in this class. He'll put you to work but the assignments are meaningful.

Very nice and helpful professor. His instuctions can be a little unclear, so just ask a lot of questions. He is very nice but likes to act a bit "young" for his age. It is also unfortunate that his new textbook he wrote cannot be returned because it is a workbook. Overall fun class though. i would recommend it.

Great teacher. Yes, it does kind of suck that the book for the class is a workbook and you cannot return it but I would say that is absolutely the only con about Bruce or his classes. Awesome teacher, easy going and helpful. Not to mention he's really HOT. Id recommend his classes to everyone.

Enthusiastic, very interesting lectures. The textbook he wrote it is the only one I read cover to cover. Great read. Everyone seemed to really enjoy this class. You learn a lot. The negative comments I've seen does not reflect what our class experienced. This is the best professor I've had. His instructions and grading is very clear.

For the most part everything is spelled out as clear as day for you. This class was a lot of basic vocab. It was pretty easy. On the flip side you can't return your book, but if you plan on taking Interpersonal Communications you have good news because it's the same book! I enjoyed his class! VERY EASY!

Bruce Punches is the best teacher I've had at KVCC yet! Only gripe is you have to buy c opy of his book and write in it so you can't sell it back, but he is funny, engaging, and kept my interest all semester long!

super easy class, you could come in and leave within a half hour. quizes were super easy, you could practice for them 10 min before class and still ace it. plus he is def. eye candy

This was by far the best class! Interesting! Mr. P. makes you work, but he teaches things so you really understand--which may seem like the material is easy, however, it is how he teaches that makes it seem like it. Lots of good tips. His text is a great read--worth what I payed for compared to other texts!

I liked the interactive nature of the class. Professor creates a positive atmosphere for learning. He mixes lectures (which are interesting) with dicussions, debates, and film clips.

Bruce is very energetic and loves public speaking- anyone who takes any class of his WILL have to speak out loud. He purposely does this bc he knows a lot of people are uncomfortable with it. Bruce Punches is one of the greatest professors at KVCC. He is very fair and thorough with his teaching style. He offers a substantial amount of extra credit assignment. Overall, this class was extremely interesting and hands-on. I would suggest this class to anyone.

Good teacher, but his grading is a little weird on essays. Follow his rubric to a T- even if you have to write a sub-par essay- or he'll deduct points without mercy.

I don't like his 'all or nothing' points system, but his technique is good, and the book for the course is really readable, and since he wrote it, he knows the material. He's very approachable, and makes all the in-class exercises less awkward by making them into no big deal.

Took Mr. Punches for summer course Com 113. Really like it. Material was interesting. Book is well written (he author it). Course is well organized. Everyone gets to know each other which makes for a very nice atmosphere. Mr. Punches used a lot of interesting teaching ideas--I wasn't bored at all.

He's a nice enough guy and the class was cool. However, I have to agree with one of the previous postings about his essay grading. He seems really laid back; I wrote a good essay(yeah really!)and he just hammered it! Over time I ran into a few classmates; 2 had been failed and one got a 1.5! Overall, I would not recommend him. Too unpredictable.

Bruce is a really nice guy. As long as you do the given assignments and read all the text assigned you will do fine. Many of the assignments will count as extra credit, which can help offset the grading on the research paper if you didn't do well. Overall a fairly interesting course and instructor.

Bruce literally wrote the book on Communications. His class was fun and we lamented it coming to an end at the end of the semester, having to go back into the real word and all. His grading system is fair, all he asks is that you be present and do your work. If you're in college, you know that's what's expected. To your A it's really not that hard.

Great class! I was terrified to take a communication class (as I tend to freeze up) but it wasn't so bad. Answer in detail on the tests; better to give too much than not enough. Read the book and make sure you know the stories... they will show up on the test despite the study guide. All in all very glad I took this course - learned a lot!

The things I have learned in Bruce's class this past semester are things that are extremely useful to know in real life, no matter what kind of field you're going into. I will never be able to thank him enough for that. He's extremely kind, very clear on his instructions, and he wrote the book, so he definitely knows what he's talking about.

Bruce Punches is an amazing instructor. I took Public Speaking with him. He really understands that giving speeches is not an easy thing for most people, however he will push you out of your comfort zone whether you are ready or not. He does, however, have a great way of getting you to do it yourself. He does a lot activities as well.

Bruce is a great teacher a bit full of himself but great. I took interpersonal comm with him and it turns about being an interesting relationships advice class. He gives lots of opportunities for extra credit and the study guide is identical to the test except like 2 questions which you have to read the chapter for. Basically an easy A class

You have PLENTY of opportunities to earn extra credit, TAKE advantage of them! two questions/ test are out of your reading and normally 1-2 of the three extra credit questions are from the book! /have fun!

Doesn't give partial credit on tests, the book was a bit boring (he always included at least 2 stories in the book on the tests). Shirt is always unbuttoned but overall he's a pretty cool teacher. Class was easy, extra credit was easy to get and we barely had homework.

Bruce is a FANTASTIC professor. My class is a 3 hour long lecture at night (which I dreaded doing when I signed up) but I look forward to that class now! He knows his information very well, he actually wrote the book you use in class (which you 100% need to pass). He is by far one of the best professors at KVCC. I would not recommend anyone else!

Bruce is one of the best profs I have ever had. The lectures are very interactive and more informal. You get into groups and talk at least once every class. There are questions on the quizzes about things stories in the book so make sure to read. He wrote the book himself and made it actually a fun read.

Bruce is such a good teacher! I was expecting myself to hate public speaking, but I absolutely loved it. He doesn't necessarily grade your speaking skills, he more so grades the information within the speech. As long as you have your script completed, you should do very well.

He gives lots of extra credit chances and I love it. He is fun and flexible. He gives good feedback to improve your skills. One thing I do not like about is the book he uses is expensive and he barely used it. However, I recommend you taking his class for COM 101.

I am super anxious but Punches made public speaking fun and was very encouraging. You will need the textbook but it was never used during class, so if you're like me and like to find the text online that should be fine. Straightforward assignments, he made sure we were always well prepared. Only 3 speeches that were no longer than 5-6 minutes.

There were some quizzes but as long as you read the chapters required you should be good to go. The outlines used for speeches were VERY clear - so make sure you follow it.
