His class is pretty lecture heavy but he goes at a reasonable pace. We also have had many guests speakers. His tests are extremely easy. It is an easy class to understand. He is very kind and makes an effort to get to know his students. You can tell that he really wants to be here.
He did not contribute anything of value in class, as he only read off of the slides. When it came to the exams, he did not stick to the syllabus. There was also no time in class to work on the group project. He also has a savior complex and harps on this constantly. I would not recommend taking a class from him.
He told us our 1hr 15min class time would be divided into guest speaker for 20min, lecture for 20min, and group meeting for the rest of class time. This was never the case, we rarely had time in class to work on it. He doesn't cover about half of the material on the tests and likes to interrupt you when you are talking to him.
He expects students to read the book, but lectures the same info for 2hrs. Total of 3 grades in this class. 2 50 question T/F tests and a huge group project done out of class. My advice: read the book on your own time, listen to speakers, & work on other assignments via laptop during class.
Such a good professor! very caring, and he wants his students to succeed. The group project is a big deal and can make or break your grade so get a good group. SO caring and sweet! Super easy class with only 2 exams and the project. Plus the first exam was hybrid and you could use your notes. 10/10 !
Super sweet professor! He truly cared for us as students, and his class was a breeze. We had 2 tests and 1 big group project that was significant to our grade. Had lots of guest speaker (which I didn't care for, but everyone is different).
I did not mind this class at all. There were a lot of speakers for his class. On days we did not have a speaker, he read from the PowerPoint slides which are used for the tests. I would not say he really taught more read from slides. Biggest grade was from the group project. Do quality work for the project and you will do fine in his class.
Although it was an easy course, Siegmund has to be the worst professor I have ever had. I went into this course expecting to learn about business and entrepreneurship, however, he talks more about his trips to Africa than he does either of these two things. I am leaving this course with no gained knowledge. Be ready to teach yourself for tests.
Did not have very many lectures that he wasn't reading off a power point. Could;dnt stay on topic and didn't really teach well.
Didnt stick to syllabus. Read off slides for lectures. Had speakers that didnt relate to the subject. Never allocated class time for project work. Gave us 2 examples for project that were both riddled with mistakes. This professor is a stain on the legacy that is Louisiana Tech
Listening to Bruce lecture in front of a class is like listening to Fetterman speak at a rally. He doesnt have a clue what hes saying so its just aimless rambling. He also was unaware of what some requirements on his own project mean. When asked what SMART criteria was (which was listed on the rubric) he said he couldnt remember and to look it up
This class will be an easy A. However, be prepared to spend 2 hours regretting being a business major. He reads off the PowerPoint and goes off on a rant about something else 90% of the time. The group project is a bulk of your grade, so I do not understand why there was so much time spent in class on him talking and not group work.
This is a fairly easy class, don't stress and just talk to him and he gives a lot of wiggle room. The group project at the end is mostly about trying your best since he knows it is mostly freshmen taking his class. The guest speakers are always interesting and his tests are open notes and PowerPoint (you don't need the textbook).
This professor is a very genuine person, he cares about all of the students. Easy to communicate with! Just make sure you come to class and try to pay attention to what happens in the lectures.
I would take this professor again. He cares about his students and being able to listen to all of the speakers is so helpful. You will opportunities to get into some internships has well. He is so easy to get ahold of has well even before advising started. He will record the lectures has well so you can always go back and listen.
Prof. Siegmund was a wonderful professor and his class was very enjoyable. Tests are fairly easy as long as you take the time to read the powerpoints.
he has a lot of other speakers come in witch is useful for broadening your horizons.
Bruce Siegmund is a very caring, sweet, kind soul, and understanding man. He has probably been the best teacher I have had at Tech. I loved going to his class everyday and seeing how caring he is for each and every one of us.
He is a great professor! Super understanding and helpful. Tests are easy if you study the powerpoints. He has speakers almost every class period. The final presentation will sneak up on you so make sure you keep that in mind, but other than that, great class!
He's really a nice man, brings in lots of interesting speakers from the greater Ruston area!
Good teacher and very involved in the class.
Siegmund is an amazing teacher who makes sure everyone understands what he's teaching.
He is a great and understanding professor, he cares about his students as people and doesn't just see them as students. He relates back to the students a ton and his tests are always straight forward.
I want other students to know that Bruce Siegmund is a great professor who loves the engagement of his class. He really wants his students to grasp the conceptions of Busn101.
There are 3 main things that are graded in this class. Those being 2 exams and a group business presentation. One thing I will say is that you can not really do much if you get stuck with a group that is wishy-washy and your stuck with that group until the project is done. Your grade also gets drug down due to that as it is the biggest grade.
Two main things to watch out for: 1. He often gets on long tangents during lectures that do not relate to the material. This can be confusing most of the time 2. If your group for the final project is not carefully chosen your grade will reflect that
We all despise group projects.... I had spoken with Bruce about the matter of relying on the willingness of others to participate and he was very persistent on pushing faith towards my group members... I understand the lesson he was trying to teach, i just hated my group members. Bruce is a kind and caring guy. The class is easy. (just study)
The class was easy with the test being straightforward. If you study the powerpoints, you'll pass test. His lectures are boring but he tries to have a speaker come before he teaches. Those can be fun sometimes. The group project is fun if you're actually interested in business. Choose your group carefully because it is a big portion of your grade.
Awesome professor
Mr. Siegmund does a good job at inspiring students and getting to know the class. The class focuses on leadership through presentations on personal leadership style and sales management strategies. I highly recommend this class!!
The professor's teaching style is relationship driven. He really wants to get to know his students and help them improve. It was easy to talk to him and MKTG425 was so fun.
Did not care for his personality, I liked the class but him as a teacher is not the greatest. I wouldn't take him again.
Dr. Siegmund does a great job of choosing his guest speakers. I truly learned something valuable from every single person that he brought in this quarter. I love that he gives us time to work on our group projects in class, understanding that college students are very busy outside of class. This has been one of my favorite courses so far at tech.
Although there isn't much that makes up your grade, this class was super easy. The tests are all true/false questions and straight from the power points. He is a very kind-spirited person who cares about you. He also has guest speakers for almost every class that are pretty interesting.
Easiest A. Only had two exams which were both true/False and common-sense questions. If you study the power points you will do fine. He mainly focuses on the final group project. He gives you a lot of time to work on it and he was not a tough grader. Has many public speakers which are beneficial if you are looking for a career in business.
Best class to take for a directed elective. Awesome teacher. Makes the class fun.
Super easy class, and he made it interesting. Loved all the guest speakers he brought in. Only thing is don't let the project sneak up on you. It's what the entire class is about, but he doesn't remind you to meet or anything like that.
Really easy A and many speakers that let you get into the business industry. He mainly reads off slides and the biggest grades are a few tests and a final group project. He's a nice guy and maybe hard to understand for some people. Overall good teacher.
Easy class, it's normal to overstress about the final presentation, but it really wasn't that difficult.
This professor was extremely helpful and cared about his students. He does anything to help the students understand material and get good grades. I 100% would recommend this professor!
He is so kind! Really wants you to succeed. I definitely recommend taking him. Pick your group carefully- it will have a big impact on your experience in this class.
I loved professor siegmund. His class was super easy, and he is very caring. Would 100% take again
Mr. Bruce is an awesome professor who truly welcomes and cares about his students. You have 3 main factors into your grade; 2 test and a group project. Take the group project seriously and work on it all quarter and you will do great. The only downside to the class is that he reads directly from the slides. Guest speaker almost every class.
He was great I really enjoyed his classes.
Professor Siegmund was did a good job with MKTG 425. If youre taking his class be prepared to interact in class and give presentations. He is very easy to work with if you participate. Test were on mcgraw hill and not difficult. I would take him again.
Best professor to take for MKTG 320. Not a lot of homework assigned in this course. He makes this class very simple and easy.
Absolutely loved this class! He was very caring and eager for us to learn. Lots of presentations and cares about getting to know you. I took him for 320 too and loved that class as well. 10/10 recommend Bruce!!!
He is a great professor and is very helpful throughout the quarter.
One of my favorite professors in the business department. Really cares about his students and their success.
Dr. Siegmund cares so much about his students. His class was informative, easy, and entertaining. He gives constructive feedback on the two presentations, one of my favorite professors ever! Wish I could take again!
Awesome teacher would definitely take him again
He often had speakers come to his class and they would talk about their success and failures, very informational. You do not have to go to class to obtain knowledge for the test/HW but for genral life and business knowledge from speakers, he does check for absences though. He will be swiching to McGraw so that may make his class more difficult.
He had enlightening speakers in almost every class, absolutely no homework, and online exams with open notes, but the final is a group project. Very easy class but made me want to sit in and listen to the entrepreneurs and various speakers who talked about what they did to become successful.
He is super nice and if you have any questions, he will gladly answer them. Our course was only 3 big grades and a bit of a bonus. (2 exams and 1 group business project)
Bruce is an amazing professor! The class is super easy and 90% of it is listening to some awesome people on how they became successful, pay attention to the last thing he asks them before they leave. The homework is repetitive but only graded on completion. The group project is okay however he is a D1 hater for most ideas, so make sure it's good.
just do your work and do it on time and the class will be easy to get a good grade in
Lovely guy, highly recommend. My first business class was held by him. Cares more that you learn rather than information dumping and expecting you to recite it.
It's a simple class if you do the assignments, but hope you get put into a good business team for the final.
Very nice Professor and very very easy class. I wish I felt a little more challenged. It was a very stress free class and quite boring at times. Personally, I didn't like the amount of speakers we had because again, it got boring. The business project was fun at times and was the most difficult part of the class.
Most of class time was spend listening to guest speakers. Hard tests but most grades are participation. Hope you get a good group for the final!
He goes over power points but most of it does not end up on the test so make sure to do your textbook assignments. Besides that he's a great professor and brings in many interesting speakers. Would 10/10 take again.
Bad with tech. Easy class. Terrible group project. I pray if you take him, you end up with a better group than I did. Lectures have nothing to do with the homework or test. He brings in business speakers every single class so we always fell behind in lectures. I enjoyed the speakers but he would teach about week 2 stuff on week 5.
Second time taking him, not by choice. He loves his guest speakers and group projects arranged by last name. Not my favorite professor but he is easy and this time I actually liked one of the guest speakers (love Lucy).
He loves guest speakers and there are group projects. Groups are determined by your last name. This is an easy class. Do your mcgraw hill and the group projects and you'll have a good grade. Siegmund is a cool dude.
He was a pretty good professor for the is class. I didn't have any trouble giving presentations and doing the homework. If you just do all the work and take the tests you shouldn't have any problems.
really great guy and super awesome. he bring sin a lot of guest speakers to give people internship opportunities. the only reason I got a C is because I didn't do the homework so shame on me and do the homework and you'll be fine.
When he lectured on the chapters, it was super boring. However, he only lectures around 25% of the time. All you have to do is show up and do your work.
This class is the most disconnected I have ever felt from a professor. I have taken many online classes and this was the worst. We never had any direct contact, all work was done on Pearson, and when I did try to contact him it took days to get a response. He also arranged the course wrong, leading to the class taking a test they weren't ready for
A LOT of assignments and courseworks but they were pretty easy and tests were open book and easy too. But he gives a lot of priority to group project. The project carried the same amount of points as 3 of his tests combined. Brings a lot of guest speakers in his class so its not that boring. Gotta purchase McGrawhill connect worth 100 something $.
He is one of the main professors that you would have if you were in the business field. His whole class is filled with speakers, so there isn't much lecturing. However, there are three exams, but they are online and you can take them at home. Do the smart books and focus on the business presentation at the end of the quarter and you should be fine.
The professor is nice and really cares about the success of his students
He was very caring and helpful. Along with the taught information and inspiration through guest speakers and group projects.
He was a great professor and I would love to take one of his classes again.
This class was very easy although most of the assignments you do on your own. In class there will be speakers so all test material is up to you to learn.
This professor is probably going to be one of the easiest professors I have ever had at Louisiana Tech. Just make sure you are always in attendance and are paying attention to the speakers.
I loved Mr. Siegmund!! He was very laid back. He usually has a lot of guest speakers that come into class. The actual work is online for assignments tests but he lets you work with groups to complete them (they aren't too hard). The most time consuming thing is the group projects, but if you have a good group you'll be okay. Great teacher overall!
There isn't a lot of homework at all and we were allowed to take all of the tests with a group and they were fairly easy. We also had speakers for pretty much every class and it was great to get to hear from so many business professionals. Professor Siegmund is a great professor and I would definitely take his class again.
Very stress free class.
Really easy and laidback when it comes to deadlines, tests, and assignments. Allows you to work in groups for assignments and tests. Be ready for lots of lectures and speakers, but other than that it was a pretty good and easy class.
Bruce can be very critical of your work and ideas but it always helps you to strive to do better. His homework was not to bad and the guest speakers we had were very inspirational.
This class will scare you at first, be prepared to be overwhelmed in the beginning, but as soon as you figure out how the class works is it EASY PEASY. Highly recommend this class with this professor.
He doesn't teach much in the class, but the guest speakers he brings in are great. They each had their own route through business which gave me an idea what I wanted to be. Just show up and do the work and you'll easily make an A.
Caring professor I've ever met
Solid professor but didn't lecture much. Lots of guest speakers with a big theme of faith running throughout them making it feel a bit preachy. Hope you get a better group then I did for the group project but even then it wasn't too bad. He encourages groupwork for exams and they are done outside of class. Other assignments are just smartbooks.
He is the most genuine teacher I have ever taken and is so caring and understanding. His class consist of speakers, quizzes, and one group project. He gives credit where its due and wants you to succeed. He also tells his own story and talks about his family who you can tell he loves so much, which heavily reflects on his teaching style! 100/10
He has a lot of guest speakers but is kind and gives advice
Very easy class. Just turn in your work and you'll be fine.
If you are majoring in business and need to take a business class this is the perfect class to take. Very easy, relies on showing up and participation, and has a lot of grading opportunities. Professor Sigmund is also pretty chill.
He is a great professor!!
he is very good professor, in every class he invites guest speaker eho is sucessful in their field to share their experienc and at the end of each quarter we have to do a final project
he is a great professor easy to study with. cares about students mental health.
Great professor, better person! Very patient
Lots of guest speakers and almost had one every day. Tests are take home and pretty easy. Just do the homework and show up. He is very understanding and easy
His class is really easy there was just a lot of outside speakers that started like day 3 but definitely don't wait around to do your business plan!
Great professor, but he probably lectured only 10% of the entire quarter. Tons of speakers; some boring, some interesting. There are tests but the material is relatively easy. There is also group project that is a very big chunk of your grade, it's not an insane amount of work but don't procrastinate on it. There's a good bit of homework too.
Very easy teacher, make sure to do good on the final group project and you will be fine.
Professor Siegmund is very personable and respectful to each of his students. He wants what is best and he wants it done right. The class is easy, it is very lecture based with most of your work being homework and one big group project.
Take the online version of MKTG 300 if possible. It is the same amount of work as the in-person class minus the projects/presentations. He opens up every single assignment when the class starts, and I actually finished the class over Christmas break and haven't looked at it since.
He is a pretty good guy, if I had any issues or problems with grades he helped out and was very understanding.
Bruce is a fantastic professor, one of the best at the university. Marketing 300 online was an easy class as long as you kept up with your homework. There are several homework assignments that are due every Sunday night (well over 8-10 a week), that being said it is very doable as long as you complete a few assignments every other night.
The professor is very good and covers course material in unique way which is helpful. He has got some good sense of humor too.
This is probably the easiest class I have taken in my college career
Great professor.
He is an amazing n professor who cares a lot about his class. There are a lot of outside speakers but I would recommend going to some of them for one of the assignments you have. Attendance is not mandatory and does not affect your grade. Overall great professor!!!
Dr. Siegmund's approach to teaching this class was unique. The course work was easy to follow and understand, and the guest speakers he invited to talk to the class provided real-life experiences and tips that you would not be able to find anywhere else. Definitely recommend taking him!
I went to class on the days of my presentations, which there were 2, along with one day to take the speaker exam and there was a speaker that day I could write on. Very easy class and I earned an A without having to go to class. Love him.
He didn't teach a lot himself. It was almost every day that we had a speaker but they were interesting enough. The tests were really easy and you took them outside of class on your own time. Lots of homework but it also easy. The biggest assignment will be a group project that lasts the entire quarter. Don't procrastinate and you'll be fine.
McGraw Hill assignments, open note at home tests, & 2 projects (1 group & 1 individual) make up your grades. He has speakers often. Attendance is taken, but isn't apart of your grade. Super funny and nice. Do your work & you'll be good.
It was a fun class.
In my opinion, he have categorized classes as one month teaching, another month for speakers, and last month for group presentations. If you want an easy A grade then take this class. Mr. Siegmund is very funny, he crack jokes and this class is very very easy.
He doesn't really like to teach so he either gets speakers for class or makes students speak for a grade. Pretty easy. Hope you get a good group for the final project. This class is almost identical to BUSN 110.
Would take him 1000 times over anyone else.
He's is a great professor but gives a lot of homework. The homework is very easy and he gives you plenty of time to finish the homework. He has a speaker almost every day and it gets old but as long as you kinda listen and pay attention you can easily pass his class. Also lets you take all test at home not proctored
He's a great and understanding professor. There's a lot of homework, but it's very easy. Only one group project the whole quarter, which you have plenty of time to do. Tests are open book, taken outside of class, and can be done in groups, so no class on test days. And 9 times out of 10, there will be a guest speaker every week, which wasn't bad.
This was such an easy class to take. Professor Siegmund was very nice and funny, I actually enjoyed being in his class. There is a lot of homework but it's easy and worth a lot of points, so it always helps your grade. There is barley any lectures. I love that he has speakers come to the class because they are always very helpful and inspirational.
He will teach the first week, then guest speakers will come after the first week, and at the end there is a group presentation. This class is really easy and fun. the tests are easy!!
He's not bad, but not all that. He's good humored and he gives you multiple opportunities to complete work past deadlines and also gives a chance for bonus. But he only lectured twice the entire quarter I had him, because every class we had a speaker, which you have a test on towards the end of the quarter. He takes attendance every class. Funny.
Best professor
He's spectacular professor and has an easy class you just have to be willing to do the assignments outside of class.
He was great and easy! Just do the work and focus on group project
Siegmund is cool. Lectures are mainly guest speakers, and very rarely have material. Most of the "learning" part of the class is online (SimNet). Just do all of the assignments on time and you'll make an A. Final is a group project. Get a good group and you'll do fine.
HE IS PRECIOUS!!! I will not accept any slander. Actually the sweetest guy, does real estate on the side and goes on mission trips to Malawi. He is so so cute and amazing. Easy peasy class, do your work and you'll make an A!
Very fun, easy going, positive, and hilarious guy. I 100% recommend taking him for any classes he offers that you need a credit for. He is very quick with resolving issues. lots of lectures but he makes them involving and interesting, many guest speakers- definitely do what you can to get the most out of the speakers.
Mr. Bruce was great! His class is super easy. Everyday is a guest speaker, go listen to them! They have great advice and opportunities for you. Your grades are easy assignments and tests that are both open book. You have a group project that is also super easy. Great professor, I recommend!
He's a super sweet guy and all of his classes were just speakers. Tests were online and at home. Watch out for due dates, but he's super sweet. He got fed up with our class for not turning stuff in, but you can do all the work basically online. Just didn't really learn a lot of the business side of the class.
Nice Class
Great professor overall. He did have a good bit of homework assignments but as long as you did them on time and stayed caught up it was easy to get an A in the class. Would recommend this professor for any incoming freshmen.
Truly a caring and inspiring individual! Anyone who takes a class and sees "Bruce Siegmund" should be extremely happy!
A very kind and caring teacher. We listen to a lot of business owner speakers and reflect on them. The whole class is based on coming up with a business plan with group members then presenting to the class at the end of the quarter.
You will have packbacks on the speakers every week and a group project. However very easy class with a great professor!
He's a really sweet guy, but he does talk a lot. It's more than always useful information or stories, so it's not a bad thing, but you may think you're getting out early and in reality he's likely going to talk the rest of the class. He doesn't take attendance grade, and records every lecture so if you miss you'll be fine. Gives hw but its easy.
Just come to class and listen
I loved Professor Siegmund teaching style, he may can be better at talking to the class more, but other than that he's a great teacher/Professor
We had a guest speaker every class and we worked on our final presentation most of the quarter. We did all our test online. The class itself was super easy and i would definitely take his class again.
Bruce is great. Do exactly as he says in his directions, which are very straight forward, show up and you will do amazing.
He was a great professor takes. He know that people are able to cheat on assignments so he makes his class very speaker oriented which is the perfect thing for this class as a freshman it is the perfect course to take to ease you into college.
Bruce is great, I love his class. Do exactly as he says in his directions, which are very straight forward, show up and you will do amazing. Also he makes his class very speaker oriented, this is perfect thing for this class as a freshman it is the perfect course to take to ease you into college. Also the speakers are very interesting so listen!!
Professor Siegmund truly wants his students to succeed. He provides extra credit opportunities, reopens closed assignments, and brings outside speakers to teach students about several different jobs, and offers advice for many life experiences. I highly recommend taking Professor Siegmund!
This class is a great way to start your freshman year. He is very understanding while still teaching you how to transition from the high school mentality to the collage mindset. He cares about his students and wants them all to succeed.
Mr. Siegmund is an amazing guy if you get to know him. BUSS110 is honestly a joke of a class however. There is a guest speaker every day.
Mr. Siegmund's class is the perfect class to take for a freshman. He brings in guest speakers every week. Each guest speaker leaves contact information, which could easily be a huge connection for a student in the future. Also, make sure to do McGraw-Hill assignments EARLY. He will send out a mass reminder to do them, but don't procrastinate.
Had him in multiple classes now and is just a good teacher. Teaches clear and makes grading rubric clear too. Gives very good feedback too and is just genuinely pleasant. Taken Busn 110 with him and MKTG 300 and 100% suggest taking him as much as possible.
Professor is a really great guy, he's very understanding. BUSN 110 is not very helpful for an Intro to Business class though. There are speakers virtually every day, you barely learn anything from him. We had a Business Plan Group Project to do for a major grade, and he did not explain how a business plan was supposed to work.
I got a 89 because i missed one assignment tested late. He left before the quarter ended and wasnt at his office when i tried to confront him. I would have had an A but I am just mad. I didnt use AI even though everyone else did. They got As even though I actually put in the work just for a B. Just really ticked me off.
Mr. Siegmund is a character. As someone who dislikes group projects, his class wasn't the most enjoyable (but it is an easy A if you do the assignments and have a good group). There are McGraw Hill Connect assigments, and they are annoying, but Siegmund is the best professor for BUSN110. If you have to take this class, take him.
I just didn't like how every class he doesn't even teach he just has guest speakers and then tells us to read the book on our own and do assignments on it. And also for certain assignments it was not easy to get to and find when it was due.
Honestly, I didn't learn anything. He didn't really teach at all; we just had guest speakers followed by time to work on group projects every day. It's still a very easy class. My grade is bad because I didn't complete all the for-credit assignments, but they're super simple, and anyone could do them; I just had issues this quarter. Great guy fr.
Professor Siegmund is a great guy and professor. We didn't do a bunch of lectures. The majority of his class were guest speakers and they were honestly pretty good speeches. The tests are also pretty easy as they are open note and open book. All you need to do is attend class and ensure you are submitting your work on time.
