This is an easy class! Really cool guy, lets you use note card for tests, and very easy projects. He gave us a review for the final and it was word for word. Highly recommended.

He's a really nice professor. Quite easy. You get to use a note card on the tests and the tests are very similar to the review. The only thing is that he talks A LOT, but it shows he's very passionate about what he teaches. 2 major exams and a final is most of your grade.

Took this class as a minimester & loved this teacher. He brought so much to the class! He was helpful, we were able to use a notecard on test. Did group reviews for test. Really enjoyed him and would love to do another minimester for the other GOVT needed.....if he would teach another minimester :)

Really hardcore Right-Wing conservative, Will vent about the current economic/sociopolitical situation for minutes on end, then randomly change the slide, read something irrelevant, then come back to venting about something totally abstract. Pretty decent guy though, a lot of ambiguity in the speech questions.

I really enjoyed his class and felt that his tests/quizzes were fair. He does come off as being very conservative and will go off on rants about current situtations in government. While I didn't agree with him MOST of the time it was much more interesting to hear than just a lecture. No homework or essays was a huge plus too. I really recommend it

Most of the other reviews here are pretty spot on. It's a fairly easy class. He can get off topic at times and you can tell he is more conservative in his views, although he appreciates everyone's input on topics. My biggest gripe was the book we were told to get was worthless. The material in the book didn't cover anything on the tests.

Don't bother buying the book. There's NO homework. He gives a complete review sheet for each test that I looked up with Google. Quizzes are right from the tests. Grades with a curve so 100+ is possible every test. Final is word-for-word from the previous tests. I suck at all humanities, but got a 98 in his class.

I really enjoyed Mr Simons class. He is a very good teacher and instead of filling students heads with lies, he will tell you the truth about where things are at. He does give decent quizes and tests. Nothing too hard. Anything on the test he has gone over in class before. Really enjoyed him. Very nice man.

I like his class. I've learned a lot & I've actually taken an interest in government. It's an easy class as long as you pay attention & study.

A nice guy. Brings to light info that's not necessarily reported by the news. His class is SUPER easy. We didn't use the book. He doesn't even teach anything out of it. You can Google answers for the review, and if you have any questions about the review, he is happy to give you the answer. Beyond breeze of a class.

Mr. Simon is a really interesting teacher he is extremely nice gives plenty of quizzes in class straight from the notes and test are the same way very easy to make an A if u take your notes and go to class!!

Mr. Simon is a GREAT teacher. He tells you about stuff that's going on in our country that you don't hear about in mainstream news. Tests/quizzes are based off of notes in class & if you miss something, he'll go over the review. I would def. take him again. super nice guy

Very interesting teacher. So what if he makes watch Bill O'Reilly videos? Brings up class discussions on what's going on in the outside world that we don't normally hear about. Very encouraging to participate in govt, really sparked my interest. I never cared much about politics but really expressed how one person makes a difference.

Take all his notes during class. No book was needed. Always has a review for each exam. Review is word for word on exam. Takes questions off of each exam for final. Easy, talked a lot, always went off on tangents, but were interesting and fun. Def recommend and I'd take again for federal govt.

SE-Campus: Great instructor, very knowledgeable. Very helpful and respectful toward students. Just pay attention to his PPTs and you will pass. You will not need the text book...

He lets you use an index card for your tests. If you pay attention to the powerpoints, you will be fine. He opened my eyes to many things. He has a great sense of humor and I look forward to the class debates we have each class. I'm a conservative also, so it was the perfect class for me. I recommend him to anyone wanting to take a fun class.

This class was fairly easy and enjoyable. Do the review and you will do fine on the tests. As for quizzes, they're based off of previous tests. He truly is the sweetest man you will ever meet. He will open your mind and drive you away from the "emotion" in government.

I took this class in the summer and it was a breeze. Professor Simon is really passionate about getting his students involved in Government. Easy A, no textbook use, and he gives a review outline.

Easiest class ever. The tests are online, so I cheated easily. Oops. You can have 1 note card per test. He does like to start a group discussion so it's a pretty interesting class. Pretty funny guy as well. If you're not the cheating type, he has power points and puts them online and has a study sheet for EVERY test.

Pretty simple class. I took him for 8 weeks and showed up every other day. He gives out reviews for his exams and lets you use a note card on tests. (advice: stay after class and ask him about the review and he will basically tell you what will be on the test.) most of his test questions are all of the above lol

He is very nice, however his classes are really boring, most of my class fell asleep everyday. He is VERY passionate about government and he shows it everyday. The nicest guy I have ever met in my life! All he wants is for his students to succeed in their future. VERY helpful when asking him a question about anything that you might have a doubt about. I would definitely take him again if I had the chance! Great guy and very inspirational!

He's not the best professor for Government, but he is really helpful and is willing to stay after class if you need help or have questions about test review. His test reviews are extremely vague and the test can be a bit hard or tricky since you don't know exactly what will be on there. He talks a lot about himself so it can get boring at times

Took him for a winter class and was super easy! Just pay attention to his lectures and write on the review he gives you. If you ask him a question on a certain topic, he will tell you the answer on the test relating to that topic. Funny guy, likes to show videos during class. He is very passionate about government and very inspirational.

Great guy I Took him during wintermester (4 hours every day), so the lectures could get a little long. 4 tests and 4 quizzes, questions are very straight forward, if you use your notecard wisely you should ace every test. He's very involved in government, and wants his students to get involved in it as well. If you dislike Obamacare he's your guy!

Took him during Wintermester. Gives you a 4x6 note card for the exam. Exams are easy, he practically gives you the answer on quizzes. I skipped half of the day and still passed with an A. When you get the review, ask questions during lecture. Also ask for answers on the day before the exam. It's an easy A.

Mr. Simon is a cool guy, very right wing but still covered both aspects. Took him over the summer and some days were a drag due to the lack of interest from a majority of the class, so speak up and you will have a much better time. He knows his stuff from years of experience. Tests are very straightforward and you get to use a notecard. EASY A.

Professor Simon was a pretty good teacher, he came off as very conservative though, so it was tough to sit thru his lectures sometimes(all of the videos he showed were from fox news) but he was very knowledgeable in the government aspect so he is a good teacher. He was interesting and kept us engaged so it wasn't a boring class.

Professor Simon is great teacher humble and understanding go to class and learn politics. Be prepared to have fun in class to, I regret not taking him for GOVT 2306. Go to class learn, speak and group up with people and you will do fine. You have to work hard to fail, its easy to pass. Take him and have an awesome journey.

Im not going to lie, i despise government, but taking this class, apart from the students making him go off topic, is very easy. He posts the powerpoints on blackboard and gives quizzes but the questions are the exact same ones from the previous tests. He gives out test reviews and if you complete them, you are guaranteed to pass. Easy Class.

Great Professor! Absolutely take him! As long as your attend class, or have a buddy to give you answers you will get an A. He gives reviews for all his tests and quizzes are a class participation but you have to be there! Has great personal knowledge and experience with government. DONT BUY TEXTBOOK!!!

I kinda dreaded taking government, but I am really glad I took it with Mr. Simon. His lectures were always interesting, and he had a lot of current events to discuss with the class. He helped me understand the basics and opened my eyes to new ways of viewing things. I will be taking him for my Federal Govt class next time!

I loved going to his class! He not only taught us about our state's government, but he also taught us about the real world. Definitely recommend him!

Professor Simon is a good teacher. There are 4 exams and 4 pop quizzes! You might not be able to agree with all his beliefs or whatever, but he respects his students and his students respect him back. just show up to class, study, and you should pass. tests are pretty easy, but the pop quizzes I personally didn't like. I definitely recommend him.

Mr. Simon was a great teacher. His reviews were the same questions on the test. He has his opinion and you have yours. It's a government class and a debate is a normal thing. If you believe only your opinion is right then don't take him.

Professor Simon is a very opinionated man and is not somebody you should take if you get offended easily. Although I did not share a majority of his viewpoints, I respected him due to the fact that he genuinely cared about and respected everybody else's opinions. Go to class because he will give you test questions and his lectures are helpful.

He worked in the field he teaches, be open minded to what he says. He is very open minded man who knows his field very well. This professor speaks from experience. Unlike most teachers who read off things from a book and are boring. Great professor over all.

Definitely attempts to appear impartial but based on points and evidence he uses it's clear he's more conservative. But he makes it very clear that he is not trying to influence his students, but just wants us to look at the facts. He really does care about his students and believes we are the future. Class itself is easy is easy overall.

I really enjoyed Prof Simons class. My favorite thing about his class is that he taught Texas Government in a way that was relatable and provided real life applications for the the content. He encouraged all students to get involved in our communities, regardless of our ideologies, and overall I felt he was very passionate about his teaching.

Great Summer Class the letures werent boring his test were based off the powerpoint and in the study guide. Also allowed a notecard to use during tests. He actually cared about you and learning the info also he did try to make his class fun

Professor Simon is an excellent professor. Class is really easy if you listen and pay attention. Professor Simon also always answers questions in class and even outside of class; he makes sure to get back to you as soon as he can via email.

One of the easiest summer classes I have ever taken at TCC. He literally gives you exam questions in class and you get to use a 4x6 note card on the exams. He has quizzes online which are super easy and gives you test reviews which are word-for-word questions on the exam, I barely studied for the exams because he covers everything in the lecture.

This is most definitely one of the best teachers I've ever had if not the best. You can honestly tell that he loves what he does. His lectures were always interesting and never boring. He tells great stories without going off topic. He's very motivational and you can truly tell that he want's all his students to succeed in their careers.

Dual Credit GOV was one of the easiest classes I've ever taken. You are only graded by quizzes and exams which can also be online. Mr.Simons always reveals specific answers to questions on the exam during his lectures. He also allows students to use an index card as a cheat sheet for the exam. However, his lectures can be super long and boring.

Prof. Simon is a great person and wants the best for his students. The class grades only consists of quizzes and exams, which are all online (except the final). He allows a small cheat sheet for every exam taken in person. However, the class is very lecture-heavy and can come off quite boring. He doesn't allow any technology during the class.

He mostly will show videos in class, talk about current events, then go on with powerpoints that go with a study guide for the tests and quizzes. the final is exactly like the tests and study guides. He will even give you a notecard for the final.

Simon is a phenomenal teacher. He is great at passing students. He teaches the material in a meaningful way and makes it accessible for all. He is caring, interesting, and experienced in local Texas government. But beware, this class is politically charged and rooted in opinion. He doesn't require you to adhere to his beliefs tho.
