He takes himself way too seriously and needs help structuring his lectures.

very good teacher, i would recommend him to anyone

I took several classes with him and found him to be very nice and helpful. If you dont understand something he will always help you if you ask. Plan on doing work but you can earn a good grade if you try.
Excellent professor, very clear and organized. Does not let his personal feelings come into the educational environment like Dr. Morales. I would recommend taking this professor anytime possible.

Good professor, knows his stuff. You must do work but fair. strong accent, but very helpful and funny. class is interesting!
Not very hard and pretty interesting class.
Great guy and nice, easy going environment. VERY lenient in his grading and his tests were multiple choice. Knows what he's talking about.
Great professor, pretty attractive as well. class is very interesting. tests are simple if you READ the book. take him if you have the chance!
great professor. very helpful if you need it but you have to take time out to read every chapter and take good notes. mult. choice tests.
Teacher who really cares about his students. Responds quickly to questions. Interesting class, good amount of work. He is easy grading modules but papers he is fairly tough on. Overall good professor, would take again, don't bother disputing your grade
Great teacher! Enjoyed his lectures and his tests. If you read the text and take notes you will pass. The only thing that I didnt like was how he graded participation. I got A's on all the tests and a 3/10 for participation and I wound up with a B.
Great teacher who cares about his students. Awlays willing to take time out of his day to help.
Great prof., made comparitive politics interesting, though it was over the internet. Make sure you take the time to research the final paper thouroughly, he grades it like its the holy grail. Modules were easy, informative, and comprehensive. Take him, hes a great teacher.
Doing the modules was very easy, gave a lot of time to get work done. Paper at the end is up to you and very easy to put together. Very interesting class.
This guy is funny and a great teacher. I have had him three times and still enrolling in his class. You will learn a lot and still have fun in his class.
British government class is the best I've taken at UCF. he is really hot.
He is really funny and really hot!!!! also he is very smart!
This limey isn't that great, easy class and all but he's very rude and will grade you on being a democrat or republican. And he needs to realize SCOTLAND IS NOT A COUNTRY.
This teacher is very informative and down to earth. He not only teaches but participates in conversations, He doesn't just give a stream of information. Very smart and classy guy who gives a damn about his students...and his accent is great too!
Such a good professor! Although it wasn't easy, I learned so much in this class. Great material for the course. I will definitely take this professor again. Highly recommended!
Excellent class and I learned alot for a WWW class at that. Read the book before you take the quizes and you will do fine. Also post before you need too.
I really enjoyed Dr.Wilson's course. He is very flexible outside of class and wants his students to succeed. Scotland is one of four constituent countries which make up the constitutional monarchy which is the U.K. Did you not go to class?
Wonderful professor! Class is not mandatory however there is an attendance grade so I would suggest going. His classes are interactive if you chose. Lots of online assignments that pad your grade and the tests are not bad. Best of all no major papers. I would 100% take him again
this class is not hard at all it's really easy but you just have to keep up with the online assignment. the test is really easy. the lecture are loooooong and extremely boring. the hardest part of the class is going to it his lectures make you want to shoot your self if you stay for the entire time. however you must go b/c he does attendance
excellent!!!
Great teacher! Take online and it will be pretty easy. Class based on a few 500 word essays, class discussions and open book quizzes. Gives bonus points and is easily accessable.
very droll in a very British sense
Brilliant guy, I just love his classes!!!!
Professor Wilson is a great professor. He makes class meetings interesting and enjoyable. He tends to ramble sometimes, but his notes are all powerpoint slides and he posts them on WebCourses. You need to read the book, but it is a good book and really easy to read! He also always responds to questions. Take him in-person if you can, he's great!
Canadian Studies was an awesome class. Although online, Wilson created assignments that really threw the material at you in a manner students easily retained new information. It was a pleasure taking this course. Keep up with the work, and don't put off the twenty page research paper he gives you all semester to do till the last minute!
Took this class online, nice guy....but had the Webcourses goof up on me and he refused to reopen the quiz. I took 2 quizes got a 90 on one then a zero on the other...I mean..come on...but whatever. Make sure you know all the dates for when everything is due, read the chapters, and you'll be fine!
AWFUL person and an even WORSE instructor. I use RateMyProfessor to select him as he had a great rating here - BIGGEST MISTAKE OF MY ACADEMIC CAREER. The class is AWFUL. The material is DULL, his assignments are so hard,& the book is incredibly EXPENSIVE. I'm a junior with a 3.7 GPA and I got a D & I put forth so much effort. AVOID HIM AT COSTS
very professional
Took online and thought he did a great job. One of the best I've had @ UCF. Not an easy class but very interesting and thought provoking which is not an easy task for online material. I would def. recommend taking him if you want to learn!
Very clear and professional professor. Going to class is not mandatory but it helps a ton. Make sure you absolutely positively read the chapters, trust me just do it. Other than that it is not that difficult, you will learn a lot.
I honestly thought this guy would teach me something useful. His online course is a joke, you learn almost nothing except one view on a topic, you write papers on things like gay marriage. Not clear or helpful. If you want an easy A but learn absolutely nothing, take him. If you want to get anything out of the class, RUN!
Dr. Wilson is a helpful teacher outside of the classroom, which I value. As far as his lectures are concerned he's a bit all over the place, so he is sometimes hard to follow. But, if you do the reading and attend class there's no reason why you shouldn't get an A. He's from Scotland so his accent is fun, too :)
I took this class online and it was very easy-as long as you do all the work you're supposed to do. His class is composed of eight modules, one of which he drops. No final.
Very easy online class, doesn't strictly enforce discussion dates, as long as you get them in before the due date for the last few discussions. No final, one midterm discussion, and 8 modules, the lowest one is dropped. No time limit on the online quizzes, so looking up the related info in the book is easy. Highly recommended.
A good class to take online. Dr. Wilson is very helpful and quick to respond. You take quizzes on the chapters in the book, and have discussions that relate to the topics covered. Some essays are required for certain modules but they are only 550 wrd cnt. Just make sure you do the essays early so you have time to attach it in webcourses.
Took Latin American Poli. online in summer.Tough, but worth taking. Not an online class to be taken passively-must stay on top of different due dates.Combo of online posts, quizzes, papers. He is very interested in running a quality class and will give feedback on work. Not "easy" but manageable.I learned a lot and I recommend.
Whoever said Scotland is not a country is an idiot and you should not be in college. Scotland is a country and Bruce is from it baby!
Good online class. Everything is clearly stated and Prof Wilson is very helpful and responds quickly to emails. Definitely recommend.
excellent!
There are 7 modules, that are worth 66% of your grade, he drops the lowest module. A final which is a research paper worth 33%. 1% is an introduction module to the class. Demands alot of time. But you wil learn alot! Super quick responses.
Took Latin American studies, class had 7 modules each about 2 weeks long. Teacher e-mails back very quickly and make the assignment easy to understand. A few papers are required but they are not to hard just do your reading. Would take teacher again if anything is offered online!
I took this class online, really easy he takes the questions on the quizzes right from the book so make sure you read the chapters. it's really an easy class.
Super easy A. 8 modules which each consist of 2 quizzes for 1-2 chapters and a discussion post. The quizzes are about 10-20 questions straight from the book with no time limit. The discussion posts are opinion based and have to provide evidence from the book. Approx. every 2 weeks a 550 word essay is assigned. Your lowest module is dropped.
Great Prof. Took this class online, there were weekly discussions and quizzes, as well as several essays and tests. Quizzes and tests are multiple choice and very straightforward if you read the book, final had some long answer questions. Discussions are very interesting and fairly easy, as are essays. Be sure you have enough sources and cite APA.
Great online class. Very clear and Dr. Wilson is very helpful. Responds quickly to emails. Highly recommend.
Excellent teacher, very helpful. Onine class is not hard. take him
Great online class. Handled some difficult material, and was very dry at times, but it was interesting nonetheless. Dr. Wilson is extremely helpful and does his best to reply to questions or comments promptly. I highly recommend him if you are taking an online CPO or other political science class he is instructing.
Best professor I've ever encountered. Knows his stuff and super helpful. Easy to communicate and cares about student success. TAKE HIM
Great online professor. Expect to put in some time for quizzes and discussions. Quizzes are not timed. 3,500-4,000 word research paper due at end of term.
I took this class online and it was very easy! I am not into government at all and only took it online so that I wouldn't have to sit through an AmGov class. There are 8 modules, and the lowest gets dropped- modules consist of no time limit quizzes, discussion posts and maybe a paper. If you need this credit, take this class online!!
Took online. He is very organized and clear with assignments and responds to questions in a timely manner. Class isn't an easy A by any means, you need to DO and put EFFORT into your work, if you do that you should be fine. 6 modules, lowest is dropped. And a 3500 word essay due as your final. I got an A.
Even with a 500 seat online class, he was the quickest-responding professor I've ever had. No time limit on quizzes. No trick questions. Provides links for citations and research on 4 550-650 essays. Objectivity improves your grade.
Took his online class SUPER EASY! Quizzes on each chapter, questions STRAIGHT from the book, no time limit on each quiz :D very easy to score an A. discussions, quizzes, and a few essays. put in about 30min a week for this class, SUPER EASY. TAKE IT ONLINE :D
Great course, learned the fundamentals of American Government without the nonsense. While work is somewhat repetitive it isn't very time consuming. Quizzes and Small Papers make up the course no final. Easy A is you do the work on time and own and utilize the book. Recommend online for sure, free up time in your schedule!
Take this class online, it clears up your schedule and is pretty simple. The professor is very nice and you get 8 modules and two weeks to do each, the lowest one is dropped. TAKE ONLINE! :)
I took this class online and it was the best decision! Every two weeks you get a new module which consists of quizzes, discussion posts, and sometimes an essay. I would recommended this class. it is easy and you learn a lot. Professor Wilson always responds to emails and will help you if needed.
Such n easy, great, informing class, although your classmates might have a bias towards one party in discussions. Easy A if the time is put it, honestly about an hour a week. Thought is required, but it isn't a hard course. I'm selling the book cheap on knightswap.com for $10, and the book is necessary!
Lots of reading, pretty easy IF you like to read, 1000 word essays. Discussions very important and can be very interesting. Prof is very understandable but can't say the same for the GTA's. Watch out for your grade with the GTA's but overall fun class.
Class was more time consuming than i would have liked. nonetheless it was an easy A. Keep up with asssignements and you'll be fine. the online quizzes are easy and essays graded very fairly
The class wasn't too bad at all. A lot of essay's, and some quizzes from the text book. Other then that not much else. Be aware his GTA's are very picky with their grading. But other then that it wasn't a bad class at all.
Online class easy but excessively time consuming. You will end up reading every chapter of the text. 600 word essay biweekly with a 1000 word final. I echo the above about the GTAs. They do all the essay grades, are picky and get offended when you ask about a specific deduction. No input from the prof when subjective grades from GTAs are questioned
I have never had problems writing...in this class I could not get better than an 85 on a paper. A friend who took the class with me who admits to being a terrible writer(I've seen their work) would sometimes get a higher essay grades than me!! I don't know if it was the TA's who were grading but honestly it ruined the class for me.
The class requires you to keep up with deadlines. The prof is great: responds to emails and very helpful. However, as others have said the GTA's can be a problem. I had a high A, but GTA failed me on my final essay causing me a letter grade in the course. Prof is great though and learned a lot.
Had a high grade in the class until last essay I ended up with a lower grade. Prof answers email quickly but not helpful. GTAs are grading your work and they're not really paying attentions to your hard work.I Don't recommend this prof because of his lack of caring for his students.
The class was pretty easy throughout. Just read the book and do discussions and the easy quizzes. The only issue I had, which really got on my nerves, was that the TAs graded the essays, and not only are they pretty tough graders, but when I asked about my grade on one of the essays, he got really defensive. Wish the professor was more involved.
good professor teaches this class with 300+ students, but makes it seem like that there are only 11 other students in the class (he uses small discussion groups). Teaches writing as well as substance; lots to learn!
Overall straight forward and interesting class. I had issues with GA. I had a high A average in the class and on final essay was given F by GA. This surprised me as all other papers earned high grades. Good class overall!
I learned a lot and the professor is nice but the TA's (tough) can make you frustrated since they grade all of your essays including your final. On top of that they take weeks to grade your past essays so you don't know what to change for your next essay until it's due. Make sure to follow ALL of your essay instructions if you take this course.
Easy to get an A if you keep up with the online modules and turn in discussions early! Quizzes are easy if you read the textbook. Textbook was mandatory for everything. Definitely learned more about research in this class. Overall it wasn't to bad online.
Watch out for deadlines! I know as much about govt as a biologist knows about why the sky is blue, yet I expect a B as a final grade. BEWARE his nasty TA's! They seem to make everyone's life miserable (especially on the last essay according to previous comments) and mine as well! They're there to make you DROP A LETTER GRADE the week before finals!
This was sic can easy class as long as you are a good writer! Very interesting and such an easy class just follow the guidelines. He gives you points to include in the essay and the TA who graded my work was always consistent and have good feedback! Really great professor and really easy fun class
Comparative Judicial Process was supposed to be a class that examined courts and judges on an international scale. Instead, Dr. Wilson focused EXCLUSIVELY on Latin America, his personal area of study. Additionally, on the final, he had us write an entire essay on a topic that he only told us to "skim." I would not recommend taking this class.
Professor did not follow the curriculum, taught on his interests exclusively. Always try to draw things back to Latin America if you want to pass. He is very sensitive about his research interests too, DO NOT bring up any negative issues facing Latin America. This was my first and only B, will not take again.
This class requires a good bit of time for each assignment but I did just about everything the day it was due and have a solid A. This class requires effort but is completely do-able. Know how to write and manage time for each assignments and you'll be good. Quizzes are straight from the book. Easy A if you try, & and easy B if you slack sometimes.
Is an easy class online. Consist of a lot of essays, posts, and quizzes (very easy) because there's no time-limit on the quizzes. He gives you enough time to turn in assignments, but his instructions are sometimes very unclear. But my main issues came from his TA, they grade EVERYTHING (even Midtermfinal) and a bit harsh. I didn't like that at all
Assignments were well laid out. Theres quiz for each chapter, 10 questions, but no time limit-- a huge plus. There were 8 modules, which were assorted combinations of discussion topics, short essays, etc. I didnt have to put a big amount of effort into this course at all and I got an A. A handful of essays in total, no big deal tbh! I recommend it
pretty easy class. consists of a few 650 word essays (rlly clear instructions on it), discussion postings, & a pop quiz for every chapter with unlimited time. The GTAs grade REALLY EASILY I don't know why everyone thinks otherwise. I've had all As & I did the work the day it was due.
Super easy class, but you can clearly tell teachers political views. It sometimes felt as if your grade was lowered for not agreeing with them. You may need to reread his assignments a few times to clearly understand what he is asking for.
Actual professor is a nice guy but the TAs are pretty irritating. TAs are not helpful at all even when you reach out to them. I ended up with an A but could've gone without the unnecessarily difficult grading
He does not grade the work personally and basically the essays count as the final grade. Once you get your final grade on your academic records he won't help you, he will question you and your academic performance no matter what your circumstance is. It's frustrating when your work is not even checked by a real teacher.
He does not grade papers, instead other people does that for him. He replies emails but he won't help students with their concerns and he does not care about students in general. Won't take a class from this professor again. If you are a brilliant student who never has any difficulty go with this guy.
Students must be good at doing essays, if not I do not recommend this professor. GTA's are tough graders and neither them or the professor will make this class easier for the student.
Lots of writing. And be prepared to cite everything. If you can get past all the writing then the class is okay. He drops the lowest module and responds to emails in a timely manner. Class also requires cited discussions. I would recommend him as a professor. Final was an essay.
Even though the class itself was not that bad, the professor is extremely rude. As long as you do the assignments and follow the prompts you will do well. He does not grade the assignments himself the GTAs do.
Terrible professor. Super rude when you ask him anything. He doesn't do anything - his GTA's do most of the work and they are really harsh graders. The essay topics aren't tough, but the graders take off the stupidest points - no matter how hard you work on it, they will find something to mark off for. Take this class in person if you can.
As I entered this course, I reviewed the syllabus and assignment list and thought that everything was clear, each week was a new module and in every module, the assignments were laid out, due dates and everything. But was was clearly mistaken, instructions for the modules were very unclear, due dates were in different parts of webcourse
I do not recommend taking government with this professor. The course work is extremely heavy. Each module is based on essay scores graded by a teaching assistant. The essays are heavily graded and they usually give you extremely low scores. There is a lot of writing and the prompts don't cover all the topics you need to write.
I don't recommend the online government class to anybody! The class was really challenging and all the work is graded by PHD students! The teacher cut me off when I phone called him! He has no compassion for his students!
I was graded by a GTA (A. Norat) all year, and his constructive feedback enhanced my essay and discussion grades. You need to review the feedback and implement it to succeeed. Dr. Wilson is always available, and makes things refreshing with external essays and videos. He is very knowledgable. This class made me realize how much I love Politics.
I liked this class a lot. I took it online while in DC for the summer so it made learning about the government even better. He only has you read the chapters and take the 10 question quizzes and do a simple 650 word paper every week. Sometimes the essays are replaced by discussions. Strict on works cited. Nice guy, too.
don't take this class unless you're okay w/ lots of writing, the TA's do and they grade pretty hard. i got A's on my paper's and discussions and missed one deadline which is why i ended up w/ a B. optional final to replace missed module, the prompt was kinda silly so i took the B. 10 question pop quizzes that you can just skim the text for.
Too many papers for a level 2 course. Not a lot of reading, quiz questions are easy you can find them online. I was graded by his GTA so I cant say much about dr. wilson, essays are easy but you need to read the text and use what you read. optional final, replaces lowest module.
Easy A. Have a paper or some type of discussion every other week. Papers are only about 600 words so easily doable. Just pay attention to due dates so you don't miss anything, but he also will email reminders. He grades very fairly. Easy class to add to a difficult schedule!
He'll post reading material in the modules for each week, usually 2 or 3 journals from 10-15 pages each, not too bad. He posts interesting extra content as well that is relevant to the modules.
The grading is incredibly harsh and communication with the professor and the TAs for feedback or any questions in general is impossible. I would strongly advise you to avoid this class with this professor if you would like to keep your GPA up, despite the fact that this is one of the GenEd options.
Assignments are either short essays or discussion posts biweekly. Everything graded by TAs. I say take it if you don't mind writing and are pretty good at it. Took me the first module or two to get used to the grading. Optional essay final, I could've done it to try and bump my B but did not understand the prompt. Put your time into the assignments
This class consisted solely of graded discussion posts and essays, so if you're good at that you'll be fine. The TAs give really good feedback on the essays so you can fix mistakes and do better on the next paper, the only problem is there are only 8 modules, so not many grades.
the final is optional but he doesn't put in all your grades before its due so you have no idea what your grade is without the optional final and you just stress whether or not to take it
His class was fair and he was a fair instructor. Yeah, his TA's practically graded everything, but if you did what was asked then you got an A. I did not have a problem with this course, the final is not even mandatory. He also is one of the few teachers who knows a 90 is an A, and does not expect the world from you. He is reachable and is caring.
TA's grade all of your assignments. Maybe it was my TA, but I was graded so toughly on assignments that I thought were As. Also, they expect a lot from assignments that have no clear instructions. So, I expect a B+. Also, the final (1,000 words) is optional because it can substitute your lowest grade, you have 4 days to do it on finals week.
The TAs pretty much do all of the grading. Mine wasn't too helpful but the actual professor was. The workload is light and there are only things due every 1/2 weeks. He also give you the option to replace your worst module grade with a final essay.
I do NOT recommend this class or this professor
Find another prof. You'll thank me later
Do not take this Proffesor. Not considerate.
Tough but fair class. You will actually learn from taking his classes though.
A rather pathetic human. Carries no empathy for his students. An embarrassment to the academic institution. Spare yourself the trouble. He is not worth your money or time.
Really rude
Learned a lot in this class, but he was very harsh when it comes to grading essays. If he would of gave a better feedback as to "what could have been done better" instead of just stating what is wrong, then it would of been a different story. The GTAs' on the other hand were very helpful.
Horrible teacher. Short papers due every week just about and the GTAs grade your paper, and they are tough graders. There is so much reading and the essay prompts were horrible and I wish I would have taken a math class over this and I hate math... AVOID!
Although the prompts for the modules seem to be clear, the feedback from TA's is clearly subjective. You can have all the arguing grounds for being unsatisfied with the grade received but nothing will budge. It would be okay if there were a rubric to see where you lack but there is not. I even used the supplemental videos/articles for my essays.
This class seems easy at first, theres only discussions and short essays . The only downside to this class is the tough grading TAs. They critique every little thing and want you to do more than they ask for .
I actually liked this class a lot, I learned a lot more than I thought I would because it is a subject I absolutely hate and find extremely boring. The professor was very understanding, whenever I had any questions he would answer politely and fast. The TA's could be tough graders, but over all you could just email them about your grade.
I would not recommend anyone to take this class. This professor and his TA'S grading is very harsh. I am 2 weeks into the class and already have a D. I Have never had a D in any class yet history. You do your best to write essay and essay's just to get a bad grade. Also discussion posts are supposed to be based on your opinion but not with him.
Free online textbook. Not difficult coursework but it's easy to procrastinate on them. It's pretty much an essay and a discussion every week. My advice is to just try to stay on top of getting them done. I wish there were more quizzes instead of essays but I don't know if that's a course requirement or just his way of doing things.
Dr. Wilson's class was way too heavily graded for such an introductory class. Weekly writing assignments and discussion boards. I liked the structure of the class, but it felt impersonal and really uptight. The material is easily understandable though.
Dr. Wilson is so nice. His class is super easy with several essays and discussion posts spaced out throughout the semester. The textbook is FREE, which really helped me out with everything going on. Everything you need to do is laid out by module, so it's all really just keeping track of deadlines.
Dr. Wilsons class is definitely not an easy A class, however its not too difficult. The textbook was free which was great and he laid out the specific criteria he wanted to see in each assignment. I also liked how he emailed us about different articles and videos he found to be informational and interesting.
Not an easy A but a lot of short papers every week or so. A lot of research besides reading the book. Overall not too difficult but not an easy A. Took it online.
This course was probably my most time consuming and tedious class this entire semester. Material was quite boring with really no effort on behalf of the Professor to make it engaging other than a few YouTube videos here and there. Both the Professor and TA are harsh graders, and the TA gives horrible feedback; wouldn't take again.
for a GEP class, this class is BS!! the professor and his ETAs suck and they expect so much from you for no reason. DONT TAKE IT WITH HIM
Must take this professor. This is my first term at UCF and he is amazing. His online class is not hard and I did not buy a book. offer extra credit and you can in late work but points will be taken off. You can replace your lowest grade with the optional final exam.
I don't mind tough classes. I think it's respectable when a teacher tries to make you learn. But this class is made me feel hopeless when taking it mainly because of the feedback I would receive in my assignments. I didn't receive any advice about how to write my future essay and when I do it's usually very vague. I just didn't know how to write
This class was harder than it needed to be. It felt like an english class instead of government. So many papers to write with minimum word count and the GTA's grade extremely harsh. Just because one paragraph wasn't perfect I had to lose 15 points. Take government with someone else. I didn't learn anything bc I was busy writing tough essays.
The class is tough but the professor gives good feedback and you learn a lot in the class. If you dont like writing take a different class. The entire class consists of reading the textbook and writing papers.
I was extremely interested in the topic and course it's self was pretty straight forward. Yet it seemed every small task seemed harder then it had to be for no reason. He's not a bad professor but I would not take him again seemed like a lot of busy work that leaves you feeling pointless afterwards.
Gives unclear instruction. The TA is ridiculous in his comments. Professor doesn't even read your work unless disputed and just backs up the TA. Absolutely don't take this guy, the papers are short but he wants something specific and not tell you what it is he wants. The work is easy with a lot of reading, but it's annoying like a mosquito in heat.
Did *not* enjoy this class. A lot of essays and discussions. He has multiple TAs and depending on who you got, your essay grade can vary. Grading can take a while and his instructions are very confusing for no reason. All the group me chat did was complain about the class. At least he gave us the textbook for free.
This class wasnt bad at all. No tests, assignments werent even every week, just discussion posts and essays which really werent too hard. Teaching assistants give feedback, not hard to get at least a B.
The professor has never graded my paper there is no lecture just read and write every week no extra credit. I felt my grades were depending on my luck. Just run away
HORRIBLE!!
Although I got lucky with my TA many other students in the class reported their TA never even responded to their questions and were grading their papers very harshly. The actual professor does nothing and if asked to take a second look at a paper he just says he would have graded it lower if he graded it himself. Prompts for papers are so confusing
This was definitely the worst class ever. Professor does not care at all and sends automated emails if you complain. TAs do all the grading they are u fair and leave comments telling you to write more when you have a word limit
He makes you do several essays and gives an optional final exam which is just ANOTHER essay. It was so hard not to just give up when the grade seemed to vary from essay to essay depending on who your TA is. It's like a shot in the dark. I felt so burnt out from this class.
This class has papers almost every week. If not, every other week. You should read the textbook (which is free) to help with the papers. You have to use a little bit of outside knowledge to help with your essays. My papers were graded fairly, but sometimes his instructions weren't so clear. Lots of people received low grades given mediocre feedback
he is horrid drop while you can
Took this class in Summer A 2021 and it was the worst. Had a paper due every week or every two weeks. Also got discussion posts which will give your grade a boost. The final was another paper but it was optional. The TAs were basically our teacher because he barely answered emails. Get another professor if you can.
Professor Wilsons Latin Americas class was very fun this summer I enjoyed it there were two papers, 1 discussion post, and 2 narrated powerpoints you choose what countries you want to do. He grades a bit tough however, his grading is fair. I took him for summer B it was a very fast paced class , and you need to keep up with the deadlines.
not a bad professor just super unclear grading criteria and the whole class is papers. he has a lot of TA's and they all grade very differently so I never know what to expect.
All of the assignments are essays which I dont have a problem with, but his criteria is not very specific for the assignment. The TA I have grading my papers is a tough grader and leaves very passive aggressive comments on my assignments. I find it frustrating that the instructions are so broad, yet the essays are critiqued so heavily.
