Great Professor and Teacher Gives weekly quizzes, 1 short paper and 1 long paper Best part is that Prof. reads and edits you paper if you email it to him. Like he will actually edit it. Lectures can sometimes be boring and long... but its a GE. If you want to take a class to learn something, take this class. Def. not an easy A but not a hard class.

Hands down the kindest and most understanding professor I've ever had. I've been super stressed with the whole COVID-19 situation and he has been one of the few professors who try to make my life easier. Lectures can be tedious if you are easily distracted, but his life advice, stories, and top-notch feedback more than make up for it.

Had Zuckerman my first semester of college and I could tell right away he was someone I was always going to remember. Just a truly wise soul. He does expect a lot. About 100 pages or more of dense readings per week but the lectures are very interesting and his story telling is exceptional. Heavy workload class for a GE but a very fair grader.

There's a quiz every Monday that is very detailed on the Bible reading, the workload is heavy even you have read the Bible before, still need to read into the details, remember the names. But Professor Zuckerman is trying to be helpful, and can make up quizzes. Put effort in and will be reflected in grades.

Professor Zuckerman is truly an amazing professor at USC. Professor Zuckerman makes lecture engaging and tries to engage his students as well. Grading wise, he is a stickler for proper grammar and precise citing and referencing. While Zuckerman may be considered a tough grader, he provides ample opportunities for students to send in rough drafts.

Professor Zuckerman is incredibly knowledgeable in biblical and religious literature. While the course invites one to examine and analyze sources regarding the bible, the bulk of your time will be spent workshopping your argumentative writing. Zuckerman administers thorough feedback, and on top of that, is caring, kind, and understanding.

The reading is too much and the reading quizzes are insanely specific and impossible to recall without studying a lot in addition to reading. His objective was to make sure we were doing the readings but ultimately what happened was you had to remember the most minute details that you could not recall even if you did do the readings.

Prof Zuckerman is an amazing professor and makes a very dense and sometimes dull text like the Bible interesting and engaging. The amount of assigned reading is a lot, but the weekly quizzes are not that bad. Focus on remembering names and odd scenes. He is forgiving if you can describe the answer to a degree that it's clear you did the reading.

Professor Z is the GOAT. It is clear that he cares for his students' success and is passionate about the topic. He brings in humor to materials that could be boring to some. It is unfortunate that he is retiring next semester. USC will truly miss one of its greatest professors and I wish him the best a long life and many more successes.

Had minimal exposure to the Bible before this class. Z revealed a world of ingeniously-crafted biblical nuance that is astounding. He is both passionate and comical in articulating these complexities. Z is understanding of personal circumstances and allows paper extensions, on which he gives great feedback as he wants you to become a better writer.

Prof. Z is a good teacher. His style is all lecture, it's interesting but the last 20 minutes is when he gets to his point. He gives good feedback on essay drafts. The issue of my class was that he assigns reading that is not talked about in class, not sure why we did it. ALSO: he gives extra credit for these reviews, which is why he has so many.
