He said I was missing lab reports, but I handed all of them in. But I saved copies of all of my labs and made copies of them to give to him. He never changed my grade. After repeated calls, emails, etc. still no response.****ot MoFO!
F on a test, even though I got everything right. He wrote that I cheated, but I swear I didn't; I tried and studied really hard. When I asked him about it in class, he told the class that the world would be a better place if my mother never me my father.
Awesome guy. Has limited office hourse, very funny, helpful with homework. He isn't so helpful during the labs, he makes you answer your own question when you are asking him the question He tends to favor certain areas of the lab-toward the glassware/hood
Funny and smart
Really funny and helpful.
Good teacher, his Lab lectures are always interesting, keeps you laughing either at him or with him.
SO FUNNY!!! I loved this class because of the stuff he would say. Awesome!!
Funny guy. Definitely didn't have a problem going to his class. Almost made me enjoy sitting listening to someone talk. Very helpful.
He's a really good discussion leader and provides a nice alternative approach to Giering. He is something of a wanker though.
He does a good job of explaining extremely difficult material in laymens terms. I sure wish he was my lecturer instead of Porco and Laursen.
This guy is amazing. He basically spoon feeds you exactly what you need to know to do well in organic chemistry. If you can take the lecture section that has Rubio as the discussion leader because you are going to get an A.
he's very unorganized and needs to trim his nails. ughhhhhhh...think he cut me with his pinky
Explains things very well. Tests are exactly from the material that he teaches in class. Nicest guy ever!!!
He should teach the class! I wouldnt have survived orgo without him! Helpful, funny, and cares about his students
what can i say? he's BU's****mascot in the chemistry department

sooo funny. good teacher. clear in his explanations. uses outrageous, hilarious examples to illustrate his points, which keeps the class interesting and fun. he made chem fun. awesome prof.
clear and makes the class fun. he has the attitude of a yoga instructor and that makes the material even less daunting. HIs discussion clarifies lecture SOOOO much
Pretty easy class, the exams are moderately hard though. Lectures and discussion really help you in this class, and he definatly goes easy on the class (CH131 in my case) because he knows no one in it is going anywhere with chem.
Rubio can get you interested in Chemistry just make sure you go to his lectures
rubio's awesome...he practically hands u the answers to the tests before u take them...8am was a bit ruff but he did his best to keep u up and interested...hes funny and fair...take him if u can!!
Amazingly nice guy! Oddest in-class examples EVER, but he tests EXACTLY what he teaches, and the book nicely supplements what he does teach, so if you miss something, you can read the book. Policies and grading are really easy and fair. You learn chemistry without even realizing it. TAKE HIS CLASS
Prof Rubio is everything that the other Profs are not - mainly interesting and informative. Discussions are absolutely the most (read: only) vital part of the class, since that's where you learn the real chemistry. Why isn't he teaching the lecture?
This man is a living cartoon--very entertaining. Makes chem easy for those of us who could care less about it. Very fair.

Awesome man, great teacher. Makes material interesting and understandable. Highly recommend.

He makes Orgo so easy that you cant help it but to get an A. Take the discusion with him.
Class is difficult and Dr. Rubio goes through the material very quickly. He is extremely clear in explaining the material and even tells a few stories to make the class interesting. He is helpful at office hours too.

Well, this class was a cake walk for me personally due to a great highschool teacher. That said, Rubio was a bit off the wall for my taste boardering on a distraction. There were days where you could not lsiten to the information because we were all busy listening to the delivery. Nice guy, completely fair and VERY good instructor, just a little hard to sit through even for the most liberal observers.
best TF ever. made orgo so clear and understandable. funny guy too, very um interesting analogies :) definitely made the class more bearable.
Ultra-simplified discussion occasionally patronizing, usually enjoyable. Entertaining (named a molecular model color "avocado margarita" for kicks) and helpful. Not a stress-inducing professor, so go for it.
Best TF! always repeats concepts as many times as it takes, explains the hardest concepts simply b/c he knows the students don't know anything. fav quote "you wouldn't know a base if it came up to you in the street and slapped you"
Very fun guy. Always has a funky outfit for you every day. Only science lecture I never fall asleep in. The material is pretty easy and he teaches it well, all problems and math basically. Very interesting slides that will keep you awake and some very funny material
I had him for lab only. Pre-lab lectures were funny at the beginning of the semester. Then I think he ran out of comic material. Oh well.
Great Guy! His discussion sections saved my orgo 2 class(lecture professor was senile). You will not lose focus in his lectures. Very funny but still knows his stuff, and he will do whatever it takes to make a concept clear. He cuts out the bs and he will tell you what IS important. He was so good that I went to work for him the following semester.
Best teacher everrr. I hate chem, but I love his hilarious class. His organic chem class is harder than CH172, but its not his fault, it's the material's. He posts alll his lectures online...and even gives sample tests! He breaks it down so that nonchem people like me can understand it. He makes things simple...he wants you to succeed. ROAR!
Rubio is amazing. Class is hilarious, and he posts great lecture notes online. The book is useless, he tells you not to pay attention to half of the stuff in it. Just go through all the notes, you hardly have to go to class
RUBIO IS GOD. THE ONLY REASON WHY I EVER UNDERSTOOD CHEMISTRY WAS BECAUSE OF THIS MAN, NOT GEIRING WHO CANNOT TEACH ORGANIC CHEMISTRY TO SAVE HIS LIFE. I LOVE AND WORSHIP THIS MAN.
Rubio is the most amazing chemistry professor! He made me understand orgo. I think it is easier than regular chem! His lecture notes, and sample exams are straightforward. If you do the work, you will do well and understand the material. He wants you to suceed. Definitely take orgo with RUBIO, you wont regret it
Professor Rubio is the best professor EVER. I HATE chemistry, but orgo w/ Rubio was actually REALLY fun. I looked forward to his discussions every week because he always had funny jokes and FABULOUS outfits! RUBIO IS THE MAN!
Rubio is amazing! I ended up having him for organic chemistry lecture and he was truly the best professor I ever had. He is soo funny and explains things well, and is always available outside of class. His online notes are great and he has a very generous grading system! Now I have him as my TF for CH204 and he's still the best! :)
Rubio is an amazing teacher and a fun lecturer. His packets are sooo helpful and, in all honesty, you may want to wait to buy the book because I barely picked it up and (because of his packets) still did well in the class.
The BEST at BU! (And elsewhere)He has this amazing ability to convey information to students in a way in which they can understand! It's not a cakewalk - the material is tricky - but he gives you every opportunity and resource to succeed. Forget the book - go to his lectures and enjoy yourself. I look forward to them every week! I <3 Rubio!
Fantastic lecturer. Very interesting and will definitely hold your attention. Understands organic chemistry extremely well and provides many different aspects of looking at things. His online lecture notes is the organic chemistry bible. You won't even need the textbook.
Rubio was a very cool guy that helped a lot during my chemistry discussions. If you take 131, sign up for him because he gives you questions to practice with straight off old tests. Had him for lab too, but never saw him there. My TF was the hardest lab grader ever, but his labs were very simple and easy. I would definitely recommend him.
HE IS SO GREAT. I hear his grading system isn't as lenient as other teachers, but it's still worth having him. He's really good at explaining everything and he actually makes the class enjoyable because he's so funny. Don't buy the book. His lecture notes are online and they explain concepts really well.
Good lecturer. Arrogant as hell though. Completely full of himself and ignores students who ask fairly easy questions, which in my mind is NOT okay. Got an A in the class, so not going to complain too much, since the class itself isn't too hard. Good lecturer, but terrible personality.
Hilarious guy. Really easy going, funny. Makes lectures interesting and amusing. Class was fairly easy.
Believe the hype. Rubio is the man.
Rubio is the Organic Chemistry God. I am a book learner primarily, so I usually don't mesh well with a professor who doesn't use the book at all, but its a different story with Rubio. Never opened the book and understood Organic Chem way more than the kids with other teachers. Take Rubio. He's the best. I look forward to lecture.
Extremely knowledgeable teacher. His lecture notes are available online and they explain everything perfectly but going to lecture is entertaining in and of itself. This was one of the only classes I actually looked forward to. As far as grades go, as long as you do the problems in his lecture notes and practice exams and understand it you do fine.
I had Rubio for discussion and Porco as my lecturer. He is probably the only reason I passed the class. I worked hard all semester and only got a C+. But if you need to take orgo make sure you get Rubio as your discussion leader.
AMAAAAZING. BELIEVE THE HYPE. He was born to teach this stuff.
He is awesome. Get him, especially if you take CH 131 and end up with Ziegler. Rubio will help undo all the terrible teaching Ziegler does. If you ever have questions, go to Rubio and not to Ziegler during office hours!
The man. Rubio is an awesome dude with a great attitude that makes chemistry interesting and enjoyable. You learn a lot more in this class than any other, but its tough.
I had Rubio as my lab TA for intro. to chemistry. He is absolutely hilarious, and he keeps you interested with his jokes and ridiculous attitude. He is not a bad teacher either.
RUBIO IS AMAZING. THE BEST PROFESSOR AT BU. YOU WILL ACTUALLY LEARN THE MATERIAL. HE HEALS THE EMOTIONAL SCARS THAT I HAD FROM CH101. HE IS ALSO THE SINGLE FUNNIEST INDIVIDUAL I HAVE EVER MET IN MY LIFE. HE ACTUALLY CARES ABOUT HIS STUDENTS.
Amazing professor. keeps class interesting and is very funny. he's the best orgo professor around but don't mistake that for easiness. he chooses questions that he knows students will easily answer incorrectly. "most popular wrong answer" is one of his favorite phrases. all in all, he's awesome and so are his lecture notes. DONT BUY THE BOOKS!
Prof. Rubio is the best prof at BU!
Rubio is extremely hilarious when he lectures. It's so hard not to keep your attention on him. Only thing I didn't like is that although he may answer your questions, he can be very condescending! But, definitely take his class because he is great at teaching the material.
Good at teaching lab, hilarious. He will answer you questions, but he is condescending .
Was excited to go to lecture every day. Theres not that many people who can make orgo class fun and interesting but he does it. His lecture notes, which he posts online, are all the tests are based on and are extremely helpful. If you can, take Rubio regardless of the time of the class because it WILL be awesome
Rubio is definitely the best Chemistry professor I've had so far, and probably will have at BU. Most Organic Chemistry professors teach reaction mechanisms by writing them on the board, in huge lists, for you to memorize. Rubio goes through how they actually work. We never used the txtbook and his notes are better. Take his class if you can!
Great professor REALLY knows how to teach organic chemistry and cram it into you. Tests are very difficult but if you put in enough effort and time it will pay off. His flamboyance does really make the class more worthwhile. Didn't even open the book - his notes are enough.
Rubio is the man. One of the best professors I've had in BU. He makes orgo lecture actually interesting. He's hilarious and easy to understand. Never opened the textbook he doesn't even like it. Rubio is def the best person to take Orgo with!
Professor Rubio is the man. I have no interest in Chemistry and he made this class really interesting. But it's not easy. You really, really have to study for his tests. But the tests are really fair. He won't test you on anything you haven't learnt. Definitely the best professor I've had in Chemistry.
Rubio is the man! Simply put it that way. He is extremely though but it is well worth taking his class. You will actually learn the material and remember it! Not to mention every lecture is entertaining with this amazing humor and lets not forget he gives us candy! (no joke he really does!) FYI, don't bother with the book use his online notes
very clear in explaining concepts, the class itself will take up your life (he can't help that). he teaches with a fun twist so you rarely space out. class is optional but you should keep up with work and not miss lectures for your own benefit. he has lots of experience teaching- it shows. also-debatable- but he can be attractive in a weird way
Perhaps the best orgo professor ever. He makes it interesting. Even though he's pretty hard, you'll learn a lot and be prepared for mcats. Study from his lecture notes--don't even look at the textbook.
He's funny and will definitely keep your attention in class. He is a little condescending though and not the nicest outside of the classroom. His exams are hard but what else can you expect with organic chemistry. Notes are extremely helpful.
Rubio is an amazing professor who knows how to lecture. His lectures are perfectly paced and he pauses at perfect moments for jokes to keep the class from getting bored. His online lecture notes as much better then the book and his exams are tough. You will learn alot in his class (more so then other orgo classes) but it's well worth it.
His online notes are way more useful than the textbook and the exam is based on them solely. Do the study guide, go to class and you'll understand organic chemistry well. His exams are harder than other teachers, but you will learn this stuff and in the long run (CH204), this will be helpful. He does not do makeup exams but usually one is dropped.
orgo isn't easy. that's not his fault, but it went the best way it could have gone. definitely made me feel like I have a chance at doing well in a chem class at BU.
Very clear and easy to understand, but very rude in person and over email. Curve is great; average becomes about a B- or a B. Exams are pretty fair.
Definitely a great lecturer. Good or not, a strong personality. Textbook is unnecessary because he posts notes online. He is fair in the sense that everything on the notes will be covered in some form or another on the exams. Thus, his exams are much more a matter of time-management than difficulty.
The best Organic teacher at BU. His lectures are great, he is a funny guy, his class average is a B, and he has very helpful notes on his website. He made me love organic Chem!
hes a good teacher but is VERY intimidating. kinda scary actually and it keeps you from wanting to ask questions cause he makes you feel dumb. also, kinda biased towards his students.
Rubio was a fun teacher to have! I personally hate chemistry and he made the discussions and labs bearable because he is such a character. Yes, he is quite intimidating and at times condescending but he is always helpful when people ask questions. Would highly recommend him, I feel I learned a lot from him.
He is an interesting person. He is funny, not friendly though. He is my discussion leader and my lab instructor, I feel that I learned a lot more from his explanation than from the lecture professor. I would really recommend him.
Rubio is an amazing professor. He was my discussion leader, pre-lab and lab instructor. His explanation is very clear and. He tries to simplify everything so that students understand easily. He teaches what you need to ace the exams. I recommend him so much. I personally don't like chemistry, but if you do taking the class with him is a big plus.
This man is a game changer. He makes organic chemistry worth studying. Take his course and you'll appreciate chemistry.
Rubio is a great professor. His discussions are understandable, helpful, and were the only things that prepared me for the Chem tests. Definitely go to every one of his discussions.
Rubio is the only reason I had a hope at passing chemistry. His discussions are the only helpful part of the course - if anything, go to discussion! He is not particularly friendly and very intimidating, but he is a really great teacher and I learned a lot from him.
Professor Rubio was the best professor I have had so far. I never opened the textbook and did really well in his class. He explained things very clearly and his lecture notes were very thorough and understandable. I would study his lecture notes, my notes from class, the practice exams he posted and faired well on his exams. Awesome professor.
Phenomenal professor. He has a way of making the material in organic chemistry manageable yet fun. He has a really unique way of presenting the material which I still remember to this day. I never opened my textbook because his lecture notes were such a phenomenal resource. This is however a lecture based class. Very visual, invest in a model kit.
Rubio is great. Yes, he can be intimidating, but he is an awesome professor. Attend his lectures, READ AND DO ALL THE PRACTICE PROBLEMS in his lecture notes. If you want A you need to practice A LOT, but this rules work for any organic chem class, not only Rubio's. Exams are relatively hard, but they are absolutely fair
Extremely challenging. His tests are unnecessarily tricky and involve exceptionally confusing questions instead of testing your general understanding of the topic. He doesn't offer any help on how to study and do well. You will spend hours studying, think you understand, and fail every test and walk out with a C, if you are lucky. Take Loy instead.
This class is tough, but if you stay committed and do the practice problems Rubio prescribes in his lecture notes, the problems on the exams are very doable. I didn't open the textbook once because Rubio's own notes were clear and a better reference for studying. The curve is very generous; most students will leave the class with an 85% average.
Just be careful that you are not struggling. If you get help, show no weakness. Always be prepared because he is very judgmental. He has no patience. It's better you don't take an exam than to get a lousy grade. The class is a competition. He is arrogant and does not respond to emails. He already knows your faith after exam III.
His tests were not out to get you. Granted, he put sample exams online that were not similar to his actual exams, but they were very helpful and turned out to be easier than the tests given. *You MUST do all practice problems and make sure you understand the material to get an A* He's an awesome lecturer and kept me engaged the whole time. Take him
Rubio is awesome. The first sentence he said to my class was that "The fresh air is killing me, I need a cigarette" He is absolutely hilarious, but when he needs to get serious he is as serious as it gets.
Rubio's lectures make it very clear what you need to know for the exams. He gives lots of practice problems and online lecture notes, which are very similar to exam problems. Also, he makes a lot of jokes and tells interesting facts relating to what you're learning about, making the class interesting.
Professor Rubio is a great person; he is hilarious and his sense of humour is unique. Though, he isn't for everyone. It really depends on your studying style. Classes consist of a lot of note-taking. I found myself learning more from his lecture notes than sitting in class. He tends to go over the theories more than actual problems.
Prof Rubio is over rated. He rushed through problems. Take this class if you already have some background in orgo. If not, this class is extremely fast paced. Labs will bring your grade up though. Take Loy.
Rubio was great. His humor isn't for everyone but I enjoyed the class. His exams are tough but he gives partial credit. Labs will bring up your grade. If you put the work in you will pass.
Bruno is honestly the best professor I have had here at BU. His personality makes his lectures funny and entertaining, and I was never bored or itching to leave class, which is rare here. His exams were always entirely fair, if you go through his lecture notes you're golden, I didn't use the book once the entire semester. Take orgo with rubio!!!
His online lecture notes are a great supplement and the grading structure gives you the chance to get an A if you screw up a test. Anyone who tells you you won't learn as much is full of crap and is probably another premed justifying a lower grade with a "better understanding". I feel more than adequately prepared for orgo2.
He is extremely rude. If you're going to ask him a question, don't let him know that you're completely confused on a concept. He teaches well, but his tests are VERY hard. If you work hard, you can get a C. If you work really hard and devote most of your time to this class and do ALL practice problems, you can get a BA .
Fabulous teacher, but rude person. He explains Orgo and prepares you really well but he was so rude everytime I asked him a question out of class. Quite intimidating. His tests are also really hard. If you value understanding orgo more than the grade itself, take his course. My grade for him as a teacher: A; test-maker: C; Personality: D
This guy is so funny, makes the lectures worth going to
Professor Rubio is a very clear lecturer and you can learn a lot about organic chemistry in his class. He is willing to help you understand more during office hours. However, be ready for his hard exams.
Amazing professor. So clear. Amazing discussion leader. If he ever gives the lecture, it's a must go. Office hours are very helpful.
As expected of orgo, the material is a lot of memorization. However, Dr. Rubio makes things easier for lazy people like me who skip lecture a lot, and posts comprehensive lecture notes on Blackboard. I barely used the textbook - those lecture notes were life for me. Dr. Rubio is a hilarious guy, but I'd never want to see him mad at me...
Do not skip class, its essential to go because everything he writes is so helpful. His lecture notes are amazing. Honestly, everyone thinks his tests are tough but if you just do your part and work hard you could get the A EASILY.. After curves all my grades were 100s so his curves are massive.
Dr. Rubio's lectures are fantastic. Take organic with Rubio if you are willing to work hard, because what you put in is what you get out. His curve is very fair - if his average isn't a 75 everyone would get as many points as it takes to bring the average to 75. Never used the text, his lectures and online notes have everything you need.
Rubio is one of the best professors that I've had a BU. He's an extremely funny guy and most importantly, he teaches extremely well. Those at study hard, go to lecture, do his extra problem sets, and take good notes will be rewarded very handsomely. I would never want to get on his bad side, ever.
The 8am lecture sucked but Rubio is very funny so that kind of made up for it. He is EXTREMELY condescending if you go to office hours so I only went once, if you've taken Chem before then this class won't be too terrible but if Chems not your strong suit get ready to study because the exams are hard.
I love Rubio 11/10 would take him again. I was terrified of the chem department at BU but he literally wants you to pass the class/do well in it in general. I literally studied for each exam for about 6 hours and managed to get a B- each time. Just power through that class, it's really not that bad and going to lecture isn't needed don't stress it.
I heard a lot of bad things about Rubio going in. That he was rude, condescending and unhelpful. But that's all wrong! He was funny and really helpfull. He wants the student to understand the material. He was also super accommodating when I had to miss an exam.
Rubio is super funny and he really knows what he's talking about. The lecture is kinda disjointed and doesn't quite go into the specifics his lecture notes online do, but if you study and teach yourself what he posts, you should be fine. It's a lot of independent study, it's super important to always be ahead!!
You need to study hard for this class BUT it really is useful. Rubio's tests were very hard but fair and everything you need to know for the test is in the notes he gives you. He explains things really well and is weird in a good way.
HILARIOUS
Rubio is very good at explaining concepts and makes orgo surprisingly interesting. He's very clear about what he expects you to know and his lectures are hilarious. It felt like we had less work and were always behind other orgo sections, though we caught up by the end of the semester. But, being behind meant we were always less prepared for labs.
Rubio is a very dynamic professor and lectures are very entertaining. Attendance isn't mandatory but he writes his notes by hand so you shouldn't skip. He is very available outside of class but can be condescending in office hours. Exams are difficult and he designs them to take the whole time. Hard but he teaches so that you truly understand orgo.
Rubio is an EXCELLENT discussion leader for CH204/CH214. His discussion worksheets/practice problems are ESSENTIAL for doing well on Porco's exams. Rubio explains things so well. He is also hilarious!!!! I agree that he is condescending but who cares if he does his job right and helps students learn? He is an extremely qualified teacher.
Goes too fast and does not provide resources
Dr. Rubio is one of the best professors I've had. He makes sure you have a sturdy foundation and then builds material on top of that so the course is manageable and understandable. You'll work hard, but if you study his lecture notes and worksheets, his tests are fair and you can succeed. He's not great with questions, but you won't have many.
Dr. Rubio made a highly feared subject like orgo much easier. His ability to draw from and incorporate the various subtopics of chemistry not only made lecture interesting, but also more accessible for those interested in the different areas of chemistry. Exams were more than fair and he was always available if we had questions.
Rubio is a phenomenal professor - he brings organic chemistry (largely abstract 3D molecules) to life. He know only teaches what, but why.. I feel like I have learnt so much from Rubio's teaching, not just merely memorising for tests (which are hard). He is hilarious... I don't think there was ever a lecture where I didn't laugh.
Rubio Is probably your best pick for CH203, but hes also the hardest for sure. Make sure you do well on tests even though the lowest gets dropped. You can pass if all you do is do well on tests and turn in lab reports.
By far the BEST PROFESSOR I've taken at BU! Makes orgo actually fun to learn. Grades super tough but makes up for it by teaching super super well (you still gotta work hard for the A though). Take this professor if you can, you will not regret it.
A lot of people like Rubio's teaching, but for me it didn't click. He goes extremely fast and over so much in the time that we have that it's impossible to comprehend at that moment. Thankfully he posts his lecture notes on blackboard. Also a lot of people found him to be hilarious, but he just wasn't that funny imo.
This class is not easy by any means, but there are a lot of resources available to do well. Make sure to do the online lecture notes. Professor Rubio's office hours are extremely helpful, as he gives example problems that are similar to exam questions. He may seem harsh at times, but he is an excellent teacher and prepares students well for exams.
Best professor I have ever had. The study guides are straightforward and you will do well if you know everything on them. This is the funniest man I ever met and an excellent professor as well.
One of the best professors I've had at BU. The exams hard, but grading is pretty fair. Reading his online lecture notes is a must. I started reading them after the second exam and my grades for the last 2 exams were more than 15 points higher. Rubio is absolutely hilarious and a great lecturer. Really good at explaining concepts.
I took Rubio's class for Orgo 1 and 2. He posts lecture notes online and they are GOLDEN. If you ever take his class I highly recommend you do them and go to lectures this will set you up for a good grade. Rubio gives you a lot of resources, also the book does not really matter in his class. He is the only chem prof that does not make me hate chem
Rubio is a great Professor, he doesnt make you memorize information that you wouldnt look up if you were in the field, super lenient grader. Tough class made doable by his lecture style. He lets your final replace one of your midterms, it still counts as a final so you have to take it, but it super helpful for the grade. Hes also extremely funny
Rubio is amazing. O chem is a brutal subject, but he makes it bearable by making his lectures very clear, interesting, and entertaining. His grading system is curved and not designed to make you fail. The exams, while excruciating, provide you with a lot of info you'd normally have to memorize. Take Rubio! I enjoy going to his lectures.
Rubio actually wants you to learn the subject. He posts his own official lecture notes online, which explains everything with great practice problems. His lecture is just him verbally explaining them, so just read those notes and do his practice problems and you'll be set. He tries to make orgo interesting and has an entertaining way of teaching.
Some of the most engaging lectures I've had in a while, and I had this class at 8am twice a week. He always made it so we could understand the real-life applications and the importance of what we were learning. Larger than life personality (the cowboy hat!!!!). I highly recommend any of his classes.
Rubio is AMAZING. I don't attend BU but I took his CH203/204 summer classes and BU pre-med students are blessed to have such a great professor. He is so good at teaching, probably the best prof I've ever had. His class inspired me to learn more chemistry, a subject I've always hated. He's more than just a prof, he really brings the subject to life.
I took Rubio over the summer for Orgo 2 but felt like I had to leave a review to explain how amazing he is. This man can somehow explain a topic without having to repeat himself. The lectures are humorous and engaging. His office hours are super helpful. If you can, TAKE. HIM. It is an insanely difficult class, but such is life with Orgo.
Rubio was the only reason a lecture hall full of engineers would show up to learn chemistry at 8am. Lectures were super clear, and he was an absolute clown. He He has no bounds with his jokes (seriously), and weekly work is light (you can finish the labs quickly and do the writeup in 20mins). Tests are somewhat difficult, but grading is nice.
great professor, great lectures(even if they were at 8am). Hes abit passive agressive but his exams are fair and his study guides are money. Do the hw, go to lecture, and review the study guide and you should be fine. Labs are a bid and he does scale
