This teacher is so biased that it almost comes across as being a students handicap. He really likes his favorites. He is a very easy teacher but his farfetched stories make you want to bite your tongue and call his bluff.

This guy is a joke. He has avery easy class but he preys on his younger nieve students. He tells them he saved the world. Yeah Right, Barrows. If you take his class don't believe the hype. Take the easy A then get on with life as he should.

His Business Speech class is easy. He covers what is on his tests, and is not a hard grader on speeches.

he's a very easy teacher and very funny. you will learn how to present infront of the audience if you never talk infront of the whole class. i had fun in his class but you need to leave your shyness out of the his class.

Mr. Barrows has a unique approach to teaching. His class is pretty non traditional. He tells a lot of stories to help you relate to what he is trying to say, which makes it easy to retain the info. He is extremely helpful: whether your problem be school related or not. Overall a good guy. DO NOT BUY THE BOOK. You'll never need it.

Mr. Barrows is one of the best professors I've ever had. Class material is very non-tradition. You will not be needing a book. His lesson plan consists mainly of real-life stories. His goal for the class is for it to be a life-changing experience. You'll leave a better person because you took his class. Tardiness is not acceptable, so don't try.

This class is super easy but really boring. this dude never uses the book his assignments are whack but easy, the only thing i didnt like is that he is too easy and i didnt learn MUCH from him.

Awesome teacher. Really learned a great deal about myself and how I perceive others. He shares a lot of personal experiences with the class that makes the class interesting and not all boring. Plays movies that will go in hand with the subject we will be discussing. I would highly recommend taking his class.

TAKE MR.BARROWS 4 ANY & ALL SPEECH CLASSES!! extremely helpful in & out of class. u do have to go to class but it's entertaining. 2-3 exams, a couple quizzes and instead of final u have a "party" with lots of food... don't leave NHC without taking a class with Mr.Barrows.

This guy is wonderful! I wasn't looking forward to taking this course, but I can honestly say he did a great job of making it very enjoyable and memorable. He always made himself available to his students if they needed any help & he was sincere about it. Mind you, he does expect you to do the work he assigns, but his expectations are realistic.

take him if you have to take a speech class. He's will inspire you till the last day of class. He's an amazing teacher! You don't use the book but be aware that you for no reason miss a spech. He will give you a zero!! You will do fine just pay attention, write your speeches and present. Great teacher to take!

Mr. Barrows is an amazing teacher. Took him for Intro to Spch and Interpersonal Comm. Was terrified of getting in front of class before having him as teacher. He's kind, and easygoing, and has a great sense of humor. Sets the entire class at ease with his anecdotes and his teaching ability. Wish he taught more classes.

i took him for business speech, we had a total of 4 speechs 2 test(easy). and the best part was he gives out up to 5 points toward your final grade if you attend school events(1 point per event). most of mine were during lunch time when there were no classes and i had to wait on my next one. just don't expect to get out of class early, EVER.

This teacher is amazing, and I loved his stories. We had 2 tests and had to write 4 papers. We watched movies in class and got to interact. I would take him again!

I took him for Business Speech 1321 and passed easily with an A. He is VERY nice and a cool guy. He's passionate about teaching his students and his class is VERY easy. The ONLY way you can fail is if you don't do your work. I WISH HE COULD TEACH ALL OF MY CLASSES, SIGN UP FOR MR. BARROWS!

I could have never believed a speech class could teach more than just how to communicate with others. Mr. Barrows teaches with passion. The very thing that soneone gave to him and inspired his desire to make a difference he pours out onto his students. This is a teacher like teachers use to be. He really cares for each and everyone of his students.

Took the hybrid class, only met 4 times all semester. Great proffessor, no b/s to the point type guy. You will rarely if ever use the book but you will need it just in case. He will give you DETAILED instructions on how he wants you to do things, do them contrary to what he asks and you're looking at low grades...amazing guy!

Super easy class, had one test in the beginning of the semester and like 4 papers and they did not have to be perfect, he is really strict on tardiness and attendance. it would be really sad if anyone does not pass this class

I absolutely LOVED the class and I adore Mr. Barrows. This is NOT a traditional class and, he will tell you this himself. You will write papers but, if you're anything like me, you will learn from your papers. Once again, awesome teacher.

This is a very do-able and fun 3 week mini-mester class. Lots of ways to earn extra credit. Lots of reading from the book. Hard not to make an excellent grade. I love Prof. Barrows. Not your traditional speech class.

Was it easy, yes. Instructor entertaining, yes. Did I learn new things, not really. The teacher is a good person with a kind heart but this class was more about black history and motivation than speech. This class was not a challenge and didn't hold my attention more than a few minutes. If you enjoy hard work this will miss the mark.
