He was a very good teacher. I thought that they whole class in general was easy and he made it even easier. We had one quiz during the semester which was an easy A. Essays we mostly opinion essay and easy as well. good, helpful teacher to take.

This professor is probably the BEST professor I've ever had! He is extremely helpful and actually has you IMPROVE your writing skills; he doesn't just freely hand out A+s. Overall a WONDERFUL professor. I would definitely take his classes again.

I took Bryan's class as a transfer course. I wound up loving the class, loving writing, and loving Bryan as a teacher. I have since changed my major to Communications. He is not a difficult teacher at all, but is strict onn grading writing. He makes the class very interesting. I HIGHLY recommend taking any of his courses!

Bryan is right up there with some the best professors GCC offers. If you read the material, pay attention in class, and write at the college level an A is pretty much guaranteed. Don't take this class if you aren't already somewhat knowledgeable of how to write an academic paper properly. Sincerely one of the BEST profs I have had to date!

Very helpful, intelligent professor.Goes over rough draft with every student individually. Really interested in helping students improve their writing. Only required text was MLA handbook (only $20!). His assignments were interesting, and he was interesting in class discussions. Highly recommend him to anyone looking to improve their writing

Mr. Buttler is a great professor. I had him for 3 consecutive semesters and i enjoyed every class. I had 'A' in all three classes, COM 101, 102 and ENG 103.It was fun being in his class. He is willing to help his students succeed. No matter how poor your writing is, Mr. Buttler is ever ready help you to become a confident writer.Take him!!!!!

I highly recommend taking him. He was a great teacher, very clear, considerate & helpful. Required 4 papers for the whole semester. Got us out early every week(1 day/week class) and helped make you a better writer. Writing is the main portion of this class, but he does schedule appts with every student to go over the rough draft, which I loved.

I was dreading taking an English class at first. I was always interested in literature instead of writing. He is the best English professor, very helpful and attentive to the material. Knows the material well. You get four essays and the week before it is due, he makes the class a "paper conference" class where you go over your draft.

Bryan is one of the best teachers in GCC, hands down. He wants you to LEARN! Unlike sevearl other professors that just receive a paycheck, Bryan cares about his students. He is one of a small handful at GCC. Take ANY of his classes and you will not regret it! He will get my vote for Teacher of the Year at graduation!

Prof Buttler is an outstanding teacher in my opinion. I am a science guy, so literature classes are boring to me. But prof Buttler made the class interesting and even fun. It was online so I never got to meet him, but he has a great sense of humor,was way helpful and understanding, and provided all the needed tools to do well. I highly recommend

I took the online class over the summer, and I immediately loved the class. Loved the material, and I appreciated the passion that Prof B had for what he was teaching. Any assignment turned in was taken seriously and not just given a misc grade. Loved the class, if I was majoring in Literature I would take him again in the future!

Even with English being my strongest subject, I was unsure about going into COM102 but he is a very good teacher. For me, it was an online class and he had helpful worksheets on E-learning as a guide to help with papers and stuff. there's quite a bit of reading but the books aren't big to carry around-they're small. take him (: he's also very nice!

Took Buttler twice online, for Com102 and Eng101. He makes each assignment clear, and is great with replying to emails to answer questions. During my Eng101 winter innersession course, it was only 11 assignments which he graded fairly easy. Definitely take him!

I took Buttler for three classes over the span of two semesters. He is genuinely the most helpful and dedicated professor I have ever had. He always provides detailed feedback and answers questions in a timely manner. I wish I could take him with me as I transfer, but I will never forget him!

Professor Buttler is the best professor at GCC. I loved him so much that im taking a summer course with him. he makes class fun and knows how to keep your attention! he is enthusiastic, energetic and an amazing professor! I wish I could take him with me to rowan when I transfer!

Best on-line experience to date. He provides video introductions each week so you feel like you are in class with him. I took Prof Buttler over the summer for english 103. I was a little nervous because writing is not my strong suit. I was pleasantly surprised. As long as you do the reading and are able to string together a nice paragraph, you will do great.

God did I LOVE this guy. Funny and insightful lectures. Extremely friendly, extremely cool and is always willing to help you with your papers. I received A's on all my papers, but my classmates complained of harsh grades...I think the man just expects *the best*. Maybe it's because I'm an older guy, but I can really respect that. Best I've had here

Buttler may be a hard grader, but he really knows his stuff. Also, this classes helps you become a better writer, and develop long-term skills that you will use in any type of work force that has to do with writing. If you're in for a challenge, then take his class.

This course really makes you dig deep and analyze everyday media. It really opens your eyes to many perspectives, and Buttler wants you to be detailed in your thoughts. Also, back up your thoughts with textual evidence. He really makes you think.

I followed the syllabus and completed all of my homework on time. I prepared myself for the exam and received 100's for all of my grades. If you read and complete the assignment you will get an A. I completed all assignments in 2-3 days tops. I would absolutely take him again, very fair professor.

Definitely one of the best classes I have taken so far. There is a lot of writing in this class, but Professor Buttler walks you through all of the assignments, and will take time to help explain things to you.

If you are a communications major or a business major you certainly want to take this class. Professor Buttler teaches you how to properly strucutre a resume and cover letter, which is essential when applying for a job in retail or for that big career gig that you've always wanted. Professor Buttler knows his stuff, take his feedback seriously.

In my first semester with RCGC I took two online courses. One of them was English 103 with Professor Buttler online. I was nervous after I had registered and was told he is a tough professor. However, I found him to be wonderful. As long as you show you read the readings and comprehend them, he is not a tough grader. I love the videos he provided.

I took him for COM 104 and it was awesome. He is the most understanding and helpful professor I've ever had. I recommend taking the web enhanced class, assignments are easy and everything is posted online, and saves you a trip to campus. I passed with an A in this class. I definitely recommend to take this professor.

He grades more than fairly

The class was pretty good. Buttler tells you when assignments are due in the syllabus. You must have the textbook so you can read and use as evidence in discussions. He is a tough grader so be sure to be very specific and use lots of details. He always gives you good feedback on your homework assignments and tells you what you can improve.

He gave out a checklist at the beginning of the class that made assignments and due dates extremely clear. All of the assignments were posted ahead of time, and because of the time I put into the class, I was able to finish the work a few weeks before the class was over. My essays definitely improved, and I will be taking online ENG102 with him.

I'm currently taking his Eng101 course online. Participation is a must, or you won't pass. If you want an A, he'll make you work for it. He gives great feedback, so it's not hard to do if you listen to him and put in the effort. I'm definitely taking him again next semester.

Great professor and great class! If you do all the readings and put in effort you will receive a great grade. Because I am taking it online, he uploads videos for each "module" which helps a lot. He picked a few Greek mythology stories and did not overload with work, it is very spaced out through out the semester. I loved it!

i'm currently signed up for my ENG 102 summer online with him because of how great he was for ENG 101 online. he gives great feedback that is specific to what he's looking for which, in turn helps the learning process. gives great references and notes to help along the way. easy A if you use the tools he offers and make an effort.

Fairly easy class. There are a decent amount of assignments, but some of them are very easy. You're required to give 2 short presentations (powerpoint), but they were far from overwhelming and he's a fairly easy grader. NO RESEARCH PAPERS. For a writing class, there's actually not much writing involved. Also, textbook is not needed, but does help.

One of the better online classes I've taken. It was very well structured and due dates were clearly laid out. You were able to work ahead too which I loved. I ended up finishing the semester two weeks early. He gives great feedback and you can tell he puts time into grading assignments. One of the few times where it's okay that there's only 1 prof.

Professor Buttler gives awesome feedback to help you help your grade. He will correct you if you make simple mistakes but not make your grade suffer for it, he wants you to understand that whatever the mistake is should not be there and why. He gives you every piece of information you will need to complete the tasks required.

I am currently taking his online class and am satisfied with how the class is going. It involves a lot of reading, but you have 2 weeks to read each play and they're not that hard to interpret, especially if you use other online sources to help you. He posts videos that talk about the story before you read it so you receive good background info.

I took his 5 week online course and loved it. All of is expectations for the class as well as any due dates are clearly stated. The course was easy to navigate and he responded quickly to emails. The reading assignments could be considered heavy, but not unreasonable. He is a fair grader and really pays attention to your work. Highly recommended.

His online Survey of World Lit Class was the best online course I have taken. Everything is clearly laid out and he gives great background information before each assignment which really helps. The workload is easily manageable. Would highly recommend Mr. Buttler.

If you take ENG 103: Greek Tragedies: Agamemnon, Clytemnestra, Iphigenia, Medea. Wollstonecraft + Rumi. This is what you will study. 1 DQ every other week w/ no word minimum + no forced replies. :D Highly recommends autumn/spring online course. No book required--can research things. Fair + timely grader + responsive to emails.

I loved this class so much and found it extremely informative. I was afraid an online class would leave me not learning much but I feel I truly gained some insight into the world of Mass Media. I would definitely take an online class like this again.

Turn in assignments on time with correct grammar and punctuation. If you follow the instructions for each assignment and read the book for examples, You will get an A.

I took his winter online course for English 103. The modules were clear of what he expected each week, and there was a weekly quiz. He was very friendly in his emails, and he got back to me in a timely manner. Overall, I enjoyed his class.

Professor Buttler's online lectures were well written and informative, and the way he delivers necessary underlying information makes the subject enthralling. Did not have the opportunity to personally communicate with him because it was an online course, but he made his presence known in case we had any questions or concerns. 10/10 would do again

I took the accelerated Survey of World Literature class with Professor Buttler and thoroughly enjoyed it! The lectures are short and sweet, the reading material is interesting, the assigned discussion questions are not difficult, and the quizzes are no problem at all if you do the reading. A good class to take to balance out a tough semester!

He was super responsive when I had questions. The class was easy but there are very few assignments so they weigh heavily. The lowest grade I got was a 93, the rest were 100s. Overall a great and easy class.

This was my second class with him and as someone who is not a reader this was a great class. You definitely have to read quite a bit, but its manageable. If you need a lit or eng elective and are not a fan of english this is a great option

The essays in this class are interesting, and it is easy to complete. Not too much work either. I liked the simplicity, and would take this again.

only gives 2 really short assignment every 3-4 weeks. Really easy class, and the professor is nice, but he didn't provide much feedback. Don't expect to learn much or for your writing to improve because the assignments are super basic. Really easy A to boost your GPA though

I took his COM104 class and was very impressed. His course was very easy. It was easy to follow, the workload was very manageable especially for someone who works full time. I never once felt overwhelmed by this course. I also think he was a very encouraging professor who provided excellent feedback. I would definitely recommend him to others.

I took an online course with Professor Buttler and he was great and gave us interesting pieces to do homework on. Easy homework as long as you try, and he is ready to work with you and not against you. He wants you to do well in his class and that is very clear. Easy A if you do your work on time and you try.

Professor Buttler was very considerate and caring when I talked to him about the reasoning hy my assignment was not able tp be turned in on time. A lot of the time I feel as though he looks for authenticity in ones work, so Ai wont work with him.

It was totally my own fault for failing Professor Buttlers class because I fell short on my last couple speeches. However that will not stop me from giving him a good review.
