this guy is pretty funny. quizzes are online (you can take them in your room with the book wide open). makes class interesting, but there is really no reason to go. i only got a B-... but i did the absolute minimum.

he's a good lecturer- and that's all he does. he makes the class interesting and he's a funny guy.
His lectures are moderately funny and his tests are all multiple choice. But he doesnt really teach, you just have to read the textbook. I wouldnt take him if u really wanna learn, but if your a good reader go for it.
must read the book. lectures are only moderately informative. curves well. not hard, but you gotta apply yourself.
This professor just talks and talks and talks, and nothing that he says is on his tests. Our class average ont he midterm was a 63% AFTER the curve. He blows.
Funny but a little moody and his lectures are pointless. He missed like five classes and there's a lot of weight on midterm and final even though you dont know what to study for. Can't procrastinate in this class. He's lazy too.
Something seriously wrong with this professor. My advise: never take this class with him, if you need to take this class, take it with the far superior Juliano.
This class has about 100 students in it and it seems like mostly the whiners have used this site. The exams seemed to me to be based on the text and the lectures.....which overlapped a bunch. lectures wll prepared and supplemented with videos. Great class
The lectures are interesting and pertinent but something I found to be terrible is that he says and I quote "There will be questions on this test that I don't expect anyone to get correct". He doesn't just say this to scare you, it's true. There were about 20 questions that had no relevance. Why?
Animated and knowledgeble during lectures, though goes through the slides a bit too fast. Enthusiastic about his field and takes education seriously, and expects the same from his students (which isn't unreasonable, of course).
Dont take with him! impossible to study for midterm and final because he includes things we were not taught in lectures or book. gives huge amount of reading focusing on lots of issues and does not specify what test will be on. it was frustrating, a huge class, and he's not sympathetic to students.
he's a funny guy, because he acts stupid and lost sometimes in class. his powerpoints are very clear but cover a lot of material. you almost have to be a psych major to want to study this much psych to get an A. He likes to pitch a lot of curves on his exams which undermine his lectures.
So what am I supposed to study? Oh wait, no one knows.
He is a bad teacher. Isn't there a problem if the average grade on a midterm is a C??

Do Not Take This Class! Save yourself many torturous hours of reading an enormous textbook before the exams because none of the material is covered in lectures. Professor seems to enjoy watching students squirm over tricky exams. No Fun!
He's awful. He doesn't show up a lot of times, and when he does he'll put on a video or just teach off his powerpoint. Worse, 80% of the questions he asks on exams are only discussed in the massive amounts of reading. That's fine, but he doesn't tell you what to expect. Don't take this class w/ him.
This class is pretty much just for Psych majors. You can not EVER go to class and get a B if you study the book. He gives chances for extra credit as well (up to 5pts on final average)
Lectures and even themes within reading have no relevance to tests. He never shows up and there are no apologies for this. If you actually want to learn, good luck! This class is a waste of money and your grade does not depend on your knowledge.
I realized that when people say 'DO NOT TAKE HIM' on this site, THEY MEAN IT. Horrible teacher, horrible class, learned very little, frustrating labs. Tests have nothing to do with anything and I feel like I know less after taking a class with him. DO NOT TAKE HIM.
HORRIBLE. Honestly, I don't know how this guy was even hired in the first place. Tests are ridiculous. Class average for the midterm was 66 - AFTER the curve. If you are interested in psychology (which is a GREAT field!) then do not take his class. Find another professor.
professor was ok, this class was easy! the labs are extremely EASY! only 2 grades (midterm and final). not a bad class at all.
If the quiz was about his life, we all would have passed. He should re-read the section in the book that talks about narcissim
Class was completely unstructured, work wasn't returned in a timely manner, and we have no idea where our grades will be drawn from! Don't take an honors class with him--he's the only prof. who teachs honors colloquilums in psych, so just do supplements instead. Awful!
Funny enough as a lecturer, but definitely hard. Muddiest/Most interesting assignment makes NO sense and is impossible to do correctly. Lots of little assignments that are a huge pain and easy to forget. Class is pretty much optional, but he will call you on missing it in your emails.
This man needs to learn what it actually means to be a professor. I feel like I have gained absolutely nothing from this course, but at the same time, my GPA suffered severely because of his lack of presentation of material and helpfulness. The lab was the only part of the class that I enjoyed!
People hate on Fantie, but Fantie is money. Tests are easy as long as you pay attention and actually do the quizzes and a LITTLE reading out of class. Buck up and work out of class and youll be fine.
The class wasn't that bad. While his lectures may have been confusing, he would repeat the material if asked and he was very helpful in his office hours. Most of the class is easy points, and while the exams are EXTREMELY difficult, he offers more than enough extra credit to make up for it.
Really easy... as long as you sorta pay attention and do some reading before the exams you're fine. Not the most interesting lecturer, but seemed to understand that most of the people in the class were only there to fill a requirement.
when working on an independent project with a student he stone-walled her, preventing her from meeting graduation requirements, and her family had to hire a lawyer to ensure that she would be able to complete her assignment free of his harrassment. also failed to turn in letters of recommendation for several students. didn't turn in grades for othe
he is the powerpoint king!
he's funny but very confusing. u will have no chance of improving ur grade if u did bad on the midterm. he has lots of hand-on knowledge abt psyc but it further confuses u rather than helping u. save urself, don't take his class!
I think he's a good teacher, but he is a horrible person in general.
Fantie isn't hard, THIS CLASS IS HARD. He's awesome. This class requires serious hard work, you need to pay full attention to the lectures and READ THE BOOK!
Dr. Fantie looks great on paper and he is a relatively nice person, but he is a horrible advisor, and a good 30mins to an hour of class were spent talking about things that had nothing to do with the subject matter at hand.
The only thing he has going for him is that he is Canadian. Doesn't give a**** if you come to class or listen to him nor does he care if you learn anything. Take anyone else, regardless if its for gened or a major.
I'm not a fan of psych, but if you have to take a gen ed this isn't that bad. Lots of reading and tests are hard, but he is really nice and give so much extra credit that it doesn't really matter how bad you do on tests, so long as you turn in labs and participate. Good guy and cares about students.
Dr. Fantie is a pathetic excuse for a professor. He relies on his students for publications, but is unavailable, on many levels, to help them. He is rude and does not take responsbility for his actions. He needs to be fired, no student should ever have to go through what his masters students have.
I had Dr. Fantie for intro last semester, and he actually killed a student in front of the class. I'm talking blood, guts, and gore. The man is insane. Avoid his classes at all costs.
dis guy is insane!!! his exams are like 150 multiple choice questions. he is not a professor but simply a quack!
Maybe I just had a good experience? Frankly, with Dr. Fantie, if you read and you study and you work (which, apparently no one else who wrote comments did) you should be OK. (And a note to the freshmen--if the average midterm grade is a C, that's standard. A "C" is "average." Deal with it.) Too many people whine b/c they're lazy.
Amazing....Given this guy teaches about 300 students every year, it seems just a handful of whiners from 2005 paint can paint a picture that does not match the one you see from the official student ratings (see my.american.edu) or if one talks to most students who have taken one of his classes. This guy care about students and education...and rocks
Professor Fantie is a great professor. He does a very good job at informing his students about the basics of psychology and is very fair. He wants everyone to succeed in his class, but also wants you to work hard, which should be expected in college. He is funny which makes class interesting and I would recommend him to anyone.
If you're a serious psych student and would like to know what's going on in real-world psychology (neuropsych in particular), then Dr. Fantie is the professor for you.
It's a lot of reading and a lot of studying for a level 100 course. God speed.
This man is a joke. He thinks he's hilarious (he's not). Completely unclear in explaining even the simpliest theories. Responds to emails like inappropriately rude responses; it is clear we do not matter to him. Probably smart but shouldn't be in the classroom
Psych 115 class is TERRIBLE!! Work is useless (assigned group project with less than two weeks left). Interesting if you are into Psych, but if you ask for help he has these very passive-aggressive responses (accuses you of not reading ect.) TAs are useless for help. TESTS ARE SO HARD do not relate to class stuff!!!
I can't believe he has taught this class for multiple semesters he's horrible. Lectures are good but tests mainly come from the book which he doesn't require you read. Hates answering your questions, if he does answer you they are rude and he talks down to you. Avoid him at all costs! He was no help to me or anyone.
This is the typical lecture class. He teaches hundreds of students so of course he's not going to be very personable or helpful. He thinks he's the funniest guy ever which is rather obnoxious but he does explain things fairly well (except when he rambles).
I've taken a number of courses with Dr. Fantie. If you do what is expected, you will learn a lot and earn a decent grade. If not... Prof. Fantie works hard to provide cutting-edge information to his psych students.
WORST CLASS EVER, DO NOT TAKE HIM. THE CLASS AND THE LECTURE DON'T HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH EACH OTHER. THIS IS BASICALLY A SELF TAUGHT CLASS B/C U READ ONLINE AND DO THE QUIZZES ONLINE AT HOME.RESPONDS BAD TO STUDENTS TRHOUGH EMAILS.
Rude, narcissistic, vindictive, and inappropriate. Why has he not been fired yet for his behavior?
I am a psych major, and was looking forward to taking this class. However, I found out quickly what a jerk this guy is. He has no desire to help his students, and he is just arrogant and condescending when you do ask for help. I never bash a teacher, but I could go on and on about this guy.
I really liked professor Fantie, he may not be the kindest in response to some emails, but hes a great professor in class and provides examples to make complex ideas and terms understandable. really learned a lot!
He is rude, inconsiderate, and condescending. Thinks he knows everything about everything. His online quizzes are absolutely ridiculous and when asked for help by a student, simply puts them down for "complaining" and "whinning". I've never had a teacher in my life who is as bitter and unhelpful. Thinks students are idiots he just has to deal with.
Worst professor I've had. Rude and unprofessional. Responds inappropriately to students' questions and assigns a massive amount of busywork. I feel that he definitely knows the material and has had a great deal of experience, but he acts like a jerk and this gets in the way of an enjoyable class. Might scare students away from future psych classes.
I was not intimidated by the amount of reading but rather by Professor Fantie's condescending attitude toward his students. In addition, he frequently asks examination questions concerning insignificant details from the class's videos, a tendency that is frustrating and pointless.
Professor Fantie is a rude teacher with a huge chip on his shoulder. I think he teaches some concepts well with his use of examples. Too bad the tests are not indicative of anything we actually learn. The tests are completely unfair and he is inconsiderate. Take P/F if you MUST take it at all!
Really isn't fit for teaching. It's somewhat ironic to have a psychology teacher on such a power trip. I would recommend doing the readings as their assigned because end of semester scrabble will be difficult. Lectures are occasionally interesting but not often relevant to what you are tested on.
Avoid this class if possible Although he knows the topic very well he is not a good professor He is very rude to students(I get the feeling he likes to humiliate and belittle people) The tests are not at all helpful to the course and very specific He expects you to know every detail of the 16 chapter book as well as ALL videos, jokes and side notes
the WORST professor I have ever had. I am a psych major, I thorougly enjoy psychology. But this man is extremely difficult to follow. He is also condiscending. He should be fired. If the class average on the final is a 'D,' that should tell you something. If possible, DO NOT TAKE!!!
The professor is awful, but in order to survive this class (pass) you should read the chapters and understand them. Going to his class is a waste of time. You'll just ware yourself out for the day. He posts his lectures/ppts on B.B. The slides are GOLD--study them! Also, talking to him one-on-one is better (he's not as condescending) Goodluck!
This class and the teacher both have such a bad rep. But honestly, IT'S NOT THAT BAD. You have to push yourself, and if you have questions, ask him one on one, he's really helpful. He puts up all the lectures online and they are THE KEY to doing well in the class. Listen to them, half of the test questions come from what he says or does in class.
Fantastic professor and generally good guy. You'll hear people complain a lot about him: that's because they're either jaw-droppingly lazy, or absolutely incapable of taking a joke. Explains things very well - including science heavy topics - and assigns very manageable coursework. Tests are hard, but by no means impossible. He's the man.
Wow, this class was horrible. Teacher is rude, doesn't seem to like teaching , and tests are super hard and compeltely from the book and slides to memorize not learn. DONT TAKE THSI TEACHER EVER!
He can tell all the jokes he wants. He is full of himself, doesn't care about the success of students, and relies ENTIRELY on the online textbook to do the instructing for him. He violates university policy by asking students to guess their grades on exams. DO NOT TAKE HIM. WASTE OF TIME FOR A CLASS. I would've rather been in nuclear physics.
He has to be one of the most condescending, conceited, and plain awful teachers I have ever had. His classes are such a joke because he teaches nothing that has to do with what you are actually reading and his tests force you to recall the most useless details. The class itself isn't bad but he has some serious issues.
This professor made me lose any and all interest in taking classes in a subject I had once been interested in. Professor Fantie teaches a class which is much more difficult and intense than an introductory level, general education class should be. He was rude and unhelpful. If you have the option, never take a class with this professor.
Tries to scare off slackers the first class but besides that time is kind and funny every other class. Because class is about 250 people only lectures but is successful in making them understandable. A lot of material to cover and a lot of reading.
This guy wants to take revenge on all the non-psych majors who take his class to fulfill their science req, which is about 95% of his students. Hw and exams are difficult and focus on silly details.
Awful professor. Incredibly condescending and arrogant. Rude to students, incredibly detailed and dumb questions on his difficult tests (we watched a 3 minute video one time where something got stolen, and on the midterm had to say what the object was). I wish I had taken a different class to fill the requirement.
Student laziness has nothing to do with it- this professor is very poor. His lectures are aimless personal anecdotes, he is rude and condescending, and his exams do little to actually test your knowledge of psychology. He does not command respect. The class is all busywork. The material itself is not as hard as he makes it out to be. Dont take it.
It is true that the majority of his students are lazy and refuse to see any virtue in the world of psychology, but it is also true that the professor cannot teach a cow to eat grass. His lectures make at most two good points, and at least thirty tangents. It's not an exaggeration-- its a contagious coma.
Seems like a smart person in general but is extremely condescending and sometimes even rude to his students. I'd say about 6% of his lectures were actually useful; he goes off on tangents that have nothing to do with the material. Before the exam, he emails all the ground rules (of which there are many) as if we're all 5-year-olds.
He actually gets a worse rap then he really deserves. He can be really helpful esp. after class. Totally hooks up his students by using an awesome online text and if you're not disruptive during class, and you are actually paying attention, he will is a lot more willing to help you out. Great prof, if your willing to do the work.
Psych as a Natural Science is an already boring class, and taking it with Fantie makes it even worse. He goes on tangents and doesn't care about his students. If you email him he'll forward it to a TA and not acknowledge your question. Anything that goes wrong is automatically the student's fault. He doesn't take responsibility for his mistakes as a professor
I'll start this by saying I somehow pulled an A out of this class. Fantie is the most condescending prof I've had had through 3 full years at AU. I liked the lectures but not being treated like a child. As for being helpful, email him, see if he answers, he'll take class time to state sarcastically why your question would answer itself if you read.
Even though attendance is not mandatory, and his rants dont seem to relate to the course he still asks questions on exams about lecture material so go to class or listen to the audio recordings he posts! And make sure to watch videos, lots of questions on exam about them.
WORST PROFESSOR EVER. I had a family emergency and he was not understanding at all. But when he had an issue we were forced to understand him. He did not replied my emails of concerns and he did not gave grades on timely manner so that we could see our progress. DO NOT TAKE HIM! I took it online, even worse!
I took PSYC 115 online with him. Absolutely not help and very impatient with students. THE WORST PROFESSOR EVER!!!!
The worst professor I've had at AU. While some professors are strict and sometimes demanding, Professor Fantie was the only professor who didn't give the impression that he at least wanted his students to succeed. He may be a psychology professor, but he needs a lesson in empathy.
Slightly better in upper level courses than intro but still extremely rude, condescending, and passive aggressive. If you disagree with him at all, he will make your life hell. Lectures are useless because they're 95% tangents. Teach yourself with the textbook. DO NOT TAKE A CLASS WITH HIM.
Wow talk about some hate. Dr. Fantie isn't easy, but he gives you everything you need to succeed. The thing is that you have realize how many disruptive and rude ppl are in class, which might be why he comes across as condensing. He is actually awesome and if you really want to go into research he is your guy and will support you in every way!
If you are registered to have him for a professor, get out now. For the sake of your mental and academic well being, just get out.
If you are registered to have him as a professor, get out now. For the sake of your mental and academic well being, just get out.
Folks, please trust these reviews and realize that he is extremely disrespectful to students. He does not respond to emails and this course is very difficult for no reason. DO NOT TAKE
Do not take... This class is supposed to be engaging and fun, which he is not. This 100 level course shouldn't be AS hard as he is making it out to be. The time he limits on these tests are way to fast, he also doesn't respond to emails. If you want to get good grades i recommend that you switch out right now, and listen to these reviews..
Not helpful and pretty condescending. Rude at times and the work load for the online course is ridiculous.
I took the online course with him. Ridiculous amount of work for a 100 level psych class. There is reading, quizzes, and papers every week. Condescending at times when you ask for help. I would not recommend this class. Way too much work and not worth it. Worst online professor I've had.
I am a senior studying a hard science. PSYCH 115/116 is the most work I have encountered out of ANY of my classes at AU. It was ridiculous. Under no circumstances should you take this class over the summer (even in online format). This class ruined my GPA (right before graduation). Note that he is the 5th most rated professor at AU on this site.
Good professor, he's a tough grader but hard work pays off
I was blinded by the convenience of taking an online class and sincerely regret doing do. Fantie assigns an absurd amount of work for a 100 level class and much of it does not contribute to learning actual concepts. He is extremely condescending and does not trust his students. Please seriously consider the other reviews and avoid this Prof.
Somehow got an A in the class.... However I spent nearly 7-9 hours a week only on homework assignments. I believe over a half of the students received a C or below on the class stats. If you take this class in an online format good luck. Exams are incredibly hard for a gen ed. Most condescending professor I've had at Au.
I have never had such an awful experience with a professor. Extremely unreasonable amount of work expected for a 100 level online class. Don't take this course unless you're willing to spend more 4 or 5 hours a day doing unnecceary busy work and taking extremely difficult test that he doesn't give enough time to finish. Awful, awful, terrible
A very fascinating class for those interested in human nature. However, during his lectures, Fantie goes off on tangents within tangents. The amount of work he assigns is ridiculous. This is a 100 level class, and I was assigned at least 40 hours of work a week. I suggest you avoid this prof at all costs. There is a better psych class out there.
bad lecturer, assigns way too much work for a 100 level class, and takes FOREVER to respond to emails, even time sensitive ones. and he can be really condescending. listen to the other reviews and don't take this class with him, find another professor
I can't say that his teaching style and methodology is for everyone. He's tough. His subjects are difficult. His emails can seem condescending, and most assignments are non-negotiable. With all that said, I love Dr. Fantie's classes. With that said, he is my favorite professor. If you can work hard, take his classes. He can help you learn.
Professor Fantie's class was awful. He prefers to spend class time telling irrelevant stories about his personal life than actually teaching. His correspondence with students is very condescending and his assignments make no practical sense and don't really contribute to learning the material. I would not take a class of his again if you paid me
I would not encourage my worst enemy to take this class. When I tell you this professor should not be working I mean it. He is extremely demeaning and rude. He will talk to you like he is above you - and shows little to no respect for you. DONT TAKE HIM, this is one of the worst professors I've ever had throughout all of my academic years!
His obsession with validation and respect from his students makes you feel worthless. I spent hours upon hours doing assignments for his online course. I still managed to almost fail. My gpa went from a 3.7 to a 3.2. Stay clear of Fantie.
The fact that AU isnt big on psychology and the fact that hes rated number 5 as one of the most rated professor - with terrible reviews - goes to show how awful Fantie is. Dont take him. In fact he needs to be reported. It doesnt matter how smart you are, it is almost impossible to pass his class. Avoid him at all costs.
Bryan Fantie is the worst professor I have ever had. I took 115 online and regretted it. He doesn't keep grades up to date. The midterm and final were extremely difficult, and I failed both but somehow ended up with an A because he had to curve our final grades since everyone was failing. He is condescending and unwilling to help.
Not worth your time, DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASS. I got a C and C+ on the midterm and final, no way to study for them because the information is so random. Not a comfortable or motivating learning environment.
Didn't post the syllabus until the week of the midterm, so we had no prior knowledge of anything about the course. Just a date for the midterm and the final. The midterm is 50+ multiple choice questions and the information is sporadic that they are extremely difficult. This professor has been rude and demeaning and has made me feel so worthless.
The Professor gave the syllabus during the midterm week. More students should be filing complaints about this Professor. It is a lot of work. Exam is VAGUE. Basically it is anything goes. Can't really study for it either. I tried really hard for this class and still didn't do well on the exam. Please listen to everyone comments! It is all TRUE.
Extremely condescending to students, tests are impossible to study for because the questions are ridiculously specific, and the work load for an intro gen-ed psych class is crazy. The lectures he posts online barely have any content, it's just him rambling and storytelling. Worst professor ever. He should be ashamed of the way he teaches this class
Goes off on too many tangents to be effective
I have never in my life have a worst professor. Does not care about his students or their grades. Goes off on so many tangents that go past the point of the lecture. Very condescending to students. Released the syllabus after add drop was over- it was incredibly unspecific & did not follow it at all.
When new to AU, I introduced some graduate students to him who shook his head at the people I was introducing, including a Prince. He is inappropriate, negative judgments NOT asked for, and forced social ostracizing and rejection for no reason by his assuming white males are on top and the rest are not good enough while he regurgitates one side
Don't take this class! I have never had such a horrible experience with a prof. He does not care about students, their grades, or even their actual INTEREST in the class. He seems to only care about proving the point that students are rude, dumb, and lazy. Never before have I encountered a professor with such a raging superiority complex.
He is one of the most confusing professors I've ever seen. He went through a period of not responding to emails for months only to tell us his laptop died and erased all his email. You can't follow anything, and he doesn't care for his students or for their learning. He waited to post any exams until the second day of finals week. Don't take!
Dr. Fantie is one of the worst professors I have ever had. He is extremely condescending. I understand that because of the pandemic, all classes were different and challenging for professors to organize, however, he very confusing. He disappeared for weeks without telling us anything. He kept telling us irrelevant stories and was always complaining
Professor Fantie clearly Has a lot of knowledge in his field. However, he is ill-equipped to teach. He has no sense of organization and made the class up as he went. He missed weeks worth of class and offered little to make up. He rambled significantly in class, didn't organize finals till the week of and was condescending in emails. Avoid!
The worst professor ever. I already saw that this professor had low ratings, but the fact that I am taking this class asynchronously is even worse. He waited two weeks into the semester to contact us, posts random TedTalks and Youtube videos as his "lectures" for the unit, and hasn't posted any of the quizzes due mid-semester.
WORK/ TALK WITH HIM AND HE WILL WORK WITH YOU.
Took this class online, there was a daunting amount of work. He had trouble transitioning from Bb to Canvas, was open and communicative about it. His expectations were fair given the circumstances. Worked with me when I fell behind in class. Work was easy, but you must diligent and stick to a schedule. My personal experience was excellent.
does not know how to operate an asynchronous online class. will not help you if you are confused with the set up of the class. i waited 3 weeks for him to answer a simple textbook question via email.
Bryan Fantie may be the most disorganized professor that I've ever had - and it's not helpful when the entire class is asynchronous online. Every time we turned around something was wrong, things were off - even the final grades he put into eagle service. Way too much work for a habits of mind, and I didn't feel like I learned anything.
Took as a habits of mind class because I was interested in the subject and received no help whatsoever. Constantly tried to email professor to ask for help or communicate struggles (as was instructed) but was constantly just told I was doing things wrong with no suggestion of how to do things right. Way too much work for a habits of mind.
this is on behalf of a friend. the class is asynchronous, so she emailed him to ask if there was a specific time that the class took place, and here was his response: "It appears that you do not know what "asynchronous" means (and looking definitions up is so easy nowadays). I'II leave you with that clue." i would say you could skip this one.
Do not take this class. Fantie belittles students and is one of the most condescending professors I've ever come across, even when you're trying to help him or are right about something. He doesn't teach, just makes you watch Ted Talks, and read the textbook. Mostly just a copy of AP psych. Overall just rude and unhelpful.
Took PSYC 115 over the summer. Emailed him asking if my assignments were submitting, no response. Got zeros on all assignments cause they "weren't turned in" and had to withdraw from the course. He also spent a week in a 6-week ONLINE course off the grid. INCREDIBLY rude and condescending.
Dr. Fantie uses his psychology knowledge to torment his students. Condescending, inconsiderate, and strict. He expects you to spend over 5 hours a week glued to canvas or will send an academic alert. Every. Single. Time. He monitors time spent on Canvas, so no listening to lectures while doing something else. Do not take!
Please don't take the just because it's asynchronous. Fanny sends red alerts to students who he believes do not spend enough time on his asynchronous Canvas page, despite there being no information regarding this "time requirement" on his syllabus. Fully disappeared for 3/4 of the semester and posted exams late. Apparently this is a trend of his.
Fantie seems a bit dated regarding his perception of asynchronous teaching. Should not send red alerts to students, asynchronous is synonymous for learning on your "own time". However, his emails did not seem as condescending as described by others here. Exams are extremely hard. Just butter him up via email and all should go well.
Avoid this class unless you're a diehard fan of Prof. Fantie's teaching style. Expect strict attendance policies and constant monitoring on Canvas. Unstuckstudy helped me prep for exams, but the class is just not worth the hassle.
Bryan Fantie refuses all good info about anyone outside his race, calling us schizophrenic if we have good news, loves people who call PD on anyone not acting white, loves to gossip, disappeared from his office hours, offices, labs, meetings for 2 months. He is entitled. He is scamming the system so abuses to keep it that way.
