This guy rocks! His class is really interesting! I enjoyed every second of it. He's very open to discussion and he's very willing to help you out along the way as much as he can. TAKE HIM!
One of the best professors I've had! Very interesting, cares about his students, extremely friendly, and flexible with class. Very goofy and makes lots of puns and silly jokes making history and class actually fun. I would highly recommend this professor and take any classes he teaches.
This was one of my favorite classes. Dr. Glass is an interesting teacher and loves his subject. The tests are all essay, but he usually gives the possible questions in advance. He also offered extra credit. He is easily sidetracked, but its usually an interesting trip. I highly recommend.
Dr. Glass is a great professor and an easy grader. He is incredibly enthusiastic, cracks a lot of jokes, and is always ALWAYS very helpful. Not to mention he provides opportunities for extra credit. Whether you're a history major or not, you'll dig the class.
Professor Glass is awesome. He makes everything relatable and interesting. He's a funny guy and will answer any question you have. However, this is not a blowoff class. Attendance is mandatory, and the tests are all short answer and essay based along with a 1500 word book review. But he offers a TON of easy extra credit. Great class overall.
I took Western Civ up to 1715 with Dr. Glass and I liked his teaching so much I took the second half over the summer. If you're a history fanatic like me you'll love the challenges he'll offer and if you're not he will still make his lectures clear and extremely helpful. He always has discussions too. Favorite professor hands down.
Best History professor at Texas State. He knows what he is talking about and his entire lectures come right out of the book. He's also very silly (he literally said the words "I'm bring sexy economics back") which makes the class go by way fast. Test are easy but you will need to study.
Professor Glass is awesome. Attendance is mandatory, a 1500 word book review, and normally 3 tests. Essay based tests but if you read along then you should be fine. You are missing out if you are not able to get into his class.
Professor Glass was seriously awesome and is now my favorite professor. He completely turned around my view of history (not a fan) at Texas State and made history actually interesting. He is funny easy to pick up the lecture, he's not boring. I went to every class, didn't use the text book but had good notes from lecture and got an A. TAKE HIM!
Take him. I made a D with a different professor and got an A in his class. Just take really good notes, book is not necessary, tests are not tricky but straight forward. He has a personality so you want to go to class. Also no phones out!
Easy and enjoyable class. Take good notes and make sure you go to class and you should be good. He's really funny and the best teacher that I've had at Texas State and he's so attractive, just in case you needed another reason to take the class.
Dr. Glass is the best. End of story. He could be teaching at Yale or Harvard if he wanted to, but I'm damn happy he picked Texas State. If you have the chance, TAKE HIM!
Stop wasting time reading this and sign up for his class before it is full. Attendance is less than mandatory, but he makes class fun, you won't want to miss. His tests can be difficult, but they come 100% out of the lecture. He is a genius but down to earth and happy to help anyone. He wants you to succeed. Just enroll already!
One of THE best professors at Texas State. He is very clear on everything and class was a breeze. Didn't try that much at all and made an A. Also, very helpful. I got a lower grade than I thought I expected on a paper (TA's grade them) so I took it to him and he read it and raised it from a C to an A+! Go to him in OH!
Amazing professor, one of the best at Texas State. His tangents are great and you end up learning more than you bargained for. He is extremely accessible and puts a lot of effort into his classes. He is a master story teller, which makes the classes interesting.
Dr. Glass is the best professor I have had at Texas State. I liked him so much I took his history 2320 over the summer and got an A. Worth every minute of class time.
Great professor and his lectures are very interesting. 2 written exams that are easy to prepare for if you go to class and take notes. One book review that he grades easy if you just follow his guidelines. Made an A in the class! He's so nice and genuinely wants his students to love what he's teaching and get a good grade!
Fantastic lecturer who clearly loves the subject matter. He can go off in pointless tangents but at least tries to tie them back into the lecture. Overall he''s a nice guy a great speaker and one of the best teachers I had at that university. You must show up to class or you will fail.
Loved this professor! Definitely made history interesting and teaches in a way you WILL remember! Book report assignment but the good thing is that it's a book of your choice and so you learn what you want to and in that sense enjoy history even more! Not the usual book other professors know by memory and decided to go off of--take him!
Professor Glass is an incredible professor! His lectures are super interesting, I would super recommend taking any of his classes.
Dr. Glass has been by far one of the best professors I have taken at Texas State. He is very passionate about the subject matter and it reflects in his lectures. He does go off on tangents through out the class but it always relates to the subject matter. He is hilarious and makes class very interesting. I would recommend this professor.
Dr. Glass is by far the best professor I have ever had at Texas State! He is so nice and really takes his time. You can tell he loves what he does! I wish he was my professor in every course. Thank you for being the best professor out there Dr. Glass
Dr. Glass is an amazing professor. He's extremely intelligent and knows the material so well. He really made me appreciate history this time around. Watch out though, he only gives a midterm and a final exam. That's it for tests. There's one 5-page book report but as long as you follow the guidelines you'll get an A. Take notes, go to reviews.
I LOVED his lectures. He was fun to listen to, and made jokes to keep interest. He grades hard, and some of the essay tests were tricky. It is not a blow off class, so go to the lectures. I would take him again for ANY class. Great professor!!
Glass was an entertaining teacher, yet somehow his lectures still dragged. There's only so much you can do to make history fun. There's only two tests and his IA grades them so it's luck of the draw for grading. If you go to class and go to study sessions, you'll get an A. Also, don't buy the textbook! There's no material from the book on the tests
I had Dr. Glass for a class on the history of PIRATES. He teaches about PIRATES. He's hilarious and loves a good debate. He has essay questions for tests, but if you show up and engage in class, it will be easy! (Notes are really important though!) he's not big on specific date memorization, instead into chronology accuracy. LOVE.
Dr. Glass is a great teacher. He comes off like a hard teacher but I think its just an image he tries to create. Feeds you the facts, just take notes. Has a test review session that gives you an exact outline of what they want to hear. Write your essay before test and you will definitely make an A. I wish I could have taken his class again
I've taken him twice, and I hope I get to take him one more time before I graduate. He is amazing. He is crystal clear, really funny, and a fair grader. You will actually want to go to class. Take good notes, and write your essay before hand and you will do great on the tests.
Glass is God is a common phrase used in his courses. He created his own section to teach in history and it shows. Though it is difficult because there aren't any slides available his lectures are amazing and informative. I would definitely take his courses again
Wonderful history teacher. Tests are writing intensive but the book review was an easy A. Funny guy who really cares about his students and about history. If I could, I would totally take him again (unfortunately I can't).
Seems like a nice guy but is very arrogant during lectures. Hard to come to about help. His TA's grade VERY hard and he is little to no help at all about adjusting your grade. If I had the chance to drop this class I would have!
First time having Dr. Glass and for Piracy throughout the Ages! He has quickly become my favorite professor in the History Department. The classes were fun and full of information. He does go off on tangents but they're also interesting. Tests were not tough if you went to class and the book review was easy. Overall an amazing professor!
Wish I could take history 1320 with Glass... He was such a great professor, I know history is one of the hardest courses at Texas State but I easily made an A. He has a midterm, a final, and a book report. All of which you should easily make an A on. The tests have 3 short answers and one long essay, which he gives you in advanced.
One of the best professors I have ever had. Hands down. Hilarious lectures and never a dull moment. Sometimes goes off on mini tangents, but are helpful in the long run. Glass has a nice loud voice, and often repeats important details. Definitely a must take professor.
Literally the best!! I actually remember the things he taught about because he tells history in such an exciting way!!!! I love love love him and his style of teaching!!! It's the best! I've had him twice! words don't do! Just take him! For the basic history hes a pretty easy grader. Don't have to know dates. take him now before his class is full
Dr. Glass is without a doubt the best History teacher I've ever had. He makes history interesting with the energy and charisma he brings to class every day. He is very funny and entertaining. He covers all of the topics in class in such a unique way. He even offered 5 points extra credit to your average for attending an event held at the school.
Fantastic teacher. You don't necessarily need to even read the book but just listen and take notes on his lectures. He is probably the most entertaining professor ever and you have to be an idiot or not even try to do bad on the tests.
Dr. Glass is incredible. This is your chance to learn history and be deeply interested in the subject. His lecture style is almost like a story book. He is telling you a story that you want to hear the next chapter of. You MUST attend every class, the tests are 100% essay (short-- 1-2 paragraphs for - couple of q's, about one page for the last).
I had Dr. Glass for University Seminar and was highly impressed. He basically opened the class for discussion every day and brought up solid points for students to consider as he encouraged us all to develop our own opinions and use good evidence to support them.
One of the best teachers at TXST. You have to attend, and have to take good notes. I did not buy the textbook, and pulled a B in the class, didn't prep for exams that much. He basically goes over everything in lectures you will need to know. Just be prepared to take a ton of notes! Write down everything he says.
He is the best history professor. His lectures are very fun and entertaining. He tells you not to buy the book if you show up to class. There is only a midterm and final as tests. There is one book review but he gives a very clear rubric. I would definitely take him again because I love his class.
Funny, charming, and educated all in one. If you're taking history and have the option to take Dr Glass, I highly recommend him. Each and every lecture is broken up by him going on random tangents and digressions. Few assignments, but emphasizes attendance. Take good notes! All in all, Dr Glass is the best professor I've had thus far.
I LOVE Bryan! He is insanely funny. He is incredibly passionate about what he is teaching. There is a mid-term, a book review, and a final. He also takes attendance every class, so, SHOW UP. It's an easy passing grade as long as you apply yourself.
One of the best. His tangents and rants make him unique and funny. Glass is very smart and sarcastic so sometimes people take offense to the things he says. He's very passionate about his subjects and it shows. His grading is fair although only having a book report, midterm and final makes test prep essential. A if you attend class and take notes.
He is super hyper but hilarious
He's really great. Take his class, you'll be happy you did. One of my all time favorite professors, and I have been in school 4 years.
One of my favorite professors here! Lectures are entertaining, lively, and easy to follow. Class is never boring, no mandatory textbooks, and the exams are straight forward.
Dr. Glass is one of the BEST professors that you can take! although history is not that enjoyable to me his lectures make it easy to comprehend and grasp the materials. Dr. Glass is HILARIOUS and you wont have that many assignments if you take his class so its really great if you have a heavy schedule!
There is no textbook bc he teaches everything you need to know. Only 3 grades: Midterm Exam, Book Review and Final Exam. All exams are handwritten but if you actually take good notes you'll do well. He teaches like he is telling a story and is truly an amazing professor. He also wants to see all his students succeed and gives extra credit.
Glass was a great professor. He made lectures more enjoyable w/ his sense of humor and constant joking. It was always fun for him to get side-tracked bc he has some amuzing stories. 2 (written) exams, book report, attendance. Don't be surprised if he storms into class one day and throws a chair/podium at the wall. He gets a little crazy sometimes.
Hands down my favorite professor at TXST. He makes history fun, and his lectures are easy to understand. Go to class and take notes, you'll be good. 2 exams, and book report. Glass is loud and hyper, but seriously so fun. Take him if you can!!!!!
Over qualified for Texas State. This is a professor that is truly passionate about history and teaching. He's a professor every students NEEDS to experience. You'll understand when you take his class. Be prepared though! He gives his lectures on chalk board. Don't be hesitant to ask him to repeat or be more detailed!
Glass is an amazing lecturer! Very funny and genuine with his students! Im so happy I chose his class ! He does a great job at telling history as an interesting story! Constantly making good jokes and a very nice person! He does require attendance but its a class you WANT to go to!! No textbook required all lecture based!!
He is seriously good at what he does!! His teaching style actually made me LEARN history and previously I had always done poorly in history. Your grade is based on attendance, the midterm, an essay, and the final. You don't need the book, just go to class and write down everything he says and you'll be set. I'm actually gonna miss this class..
Does not grade any exam or book report, so be on good terms with TA! Uses no powerpoint or visuals, purely vocal lecture. Gives extra credit when his blood sugar is low! We got 10 points just for wearing a purple shirt one day. Attendance is taken but not mandatory, but if you skip then you cannot get lecture material online.
Best professor at TXST! Very knowledgeable and passionate about history. No textbook required, he tells you everything you need to know. Attendance is mandatory but you'll want to show up everyday.
Great, funny professor. Must show up to lectures to be able to pass the exams. Two in class essays and a book report. In order to do well you have to take great notes. Write down EVERY WORD he says in class and you'll get an easy A. Lectures are entertaining, so I didn't mind going to class. No need for a book if you show up to class.
HE WAS VERY FUNNY AND OUTGOING. THERE ARE ONLY A COUPLE OF TESTS WHICH ARE ALL WRITTEN, NO MULTIPLE CHOICE, BUT HE GIVES YOU A QUESTION THAT IS WORTH 70 POINTS IF THE TEST A WEEK BEFORE MAKING IT VERY EASY TO PASS TGE CLASS. THERE IS A BOOK REPORT BUT IT WASN'T GRADED HARD. I SHOWED UP TP CLASS AND DID PAY ATTENTION OR TAKE NOTES AND STILL GOT AN A
Every class was a lecture with a lot of notes. He only uses a blackboard to write a couple things down but for the most part his lectures are just him talking and it can be hard to keep up with. Only grades in the class are the midterm, book report, and the final. Each grade is a pretty big percentage of the class. Overall wasn't too hard.
Dr. Glass is my favorite professor. He has 3 grades. A midterm, a book report and a final. He offers a couple opportunities for extra credit. He doesn't post notes and he uses a chalkboard/speaks his lectures so attendance is VITAL. He is absolutely hysterical. His office hours are a massive help and he's so interesting to chat with!
This man is the definition of charisma.... take at all cost.
Outstanding professor, he gives lectures that will keep you entertained throughout the semester. Always has office hours open and gives amazing help/feedback when writing papers. Attendance is not mandatory, but if you do not show up, then you are missing out! Easy/fair grader, and well known throughout the department!
This is my second time taking Professor Glass and I am glad I did! He grades you on 4 things. Attendance, Midterm, Final, and Book Review (book of your choosing). You have to go to class because he does not use power points nor post anything on TRACS. However, his lectures are pretty interesting and he is hilarious!
TAKE THIS PROFESSOR. He is clearly extremely smart, but also very fun. He keeps the class interested! NOTES! NOTES! NOTES! He does not use anything but chalk and the chalk board. If you take the notes you'll do fine.
Awesome professor, he does use a chalkboard and chalk for his lectures so go to class. he also takes attendance so dont miss out. He only has one essay which is a book of your choosing and two exams which are your midterm and your final. He will review for both a day before the exams but just studied your notes especially the heavy topics he spends
Dr. Glass is one of the most enjoyable professors I've had. He's very passionate, and cares more about the student learning than handing out a ton of homework. However, he teaches from the chalkboard, and there is no Power Points, so coming to class and taking notes is important. There was only one paper and two tests in my class.
I've taken Dr. Glass now 2 times and both classes have been nothing short of amazing. He is hilarious and gets you engaged in the material, even admitting it can sometimes be boring. You're graded on attendance/midterm/book review/ and final. You have to go to class because he posts nothing on TRACS and his lectures are chalkboard/talking.
No mandatory attendance, does not require text books, lectures are amazing, take him. Easily top five professor in my opinion.
His glass is very easy. All you have to do is show up everyday to take notes, go over them before tests, and you have one book report to do. Only two test that are not hard at all. Great teacher, great lectures, and best history teacher for sure.
One of my favorite professors at Texas State. His lectures are very interesting and he is very caring! As long as you show up to class and take good notes, you will do great in the course!!
Very good professor. Lectures are interesting and you get alot of information during a class. Show up and take good notes and you will do just fine in the class. 1 midterm, 1 final, and book review. Does not give out a "review"
Super easy class as long as you go to his lectures. Took this over the summer and passed it with a breeze! Awesome professor! Very funny and nice
This prof is ridiculously funny and laid back. Attendance isn't mandatory, but he doesn't post notes online so you have to go if you want to get a good grade.
Professor Glass is by far the BEST professor I have every had at Texas State! He is so funny and made the class very entertaining. I now understand why his class always have wait lists! If you go to class and do the work, it's an easy A! I would definitely recommend this class to anyone looking to take another history class!
Dr. Glass is probably one of the best professors at TXST. The vintage style of teaching and how great he is as a person made me change my minor to history. Glass did a great job for transitioning into online classes due to COVID-19. He is very passionate about what he teaches and is engaged with his students.
I loved Professor Glass. I took him for summer II, and it was more than 100 people in the class on zoom. Yet he still managed to teach in a way that made the material really interesting and easy to learn. He graded off one midterm, one book review, the final, and attendance. I used to not like history, but Glass honestly changed that. TAKE HIM!
This was my favorite history class ever, and I came into this terrified. Prof Glass is amazing, funny, caring and a very direct prof. JUST TAKE HIM, you wont regret it! No txt book, just notes and studying! 2 exams and a paper, with super direct expectations. If you show up and actively listen, there is no way you can't make an A! He is AMAZING
Pandemic Rating: This is the only prof I had this semester that actually cared about his students and kept the class interesting despite zoom. He is beyond funny, real, and SMART. You will learn so much in this class and about life lol. You cannot go wrong with taking him. This was easily my fave class. I will miss this prof a ton tbh. his dogs <3
While attendance is not mandatory, be prepared to read if you dont show up, or get with a classmate for notes. Hes awesome!
Great professor! I just wish that the instructions for our book report were a little clearer. I would definitely take him again if I was a history major 10/10 . Overall if you are a dedicated student, you will do great.
Love Dr. Glass. If you don't go to class you won't pass as the Midterm and Final come from lectures. If you have questions he answers and is really clear when doing so. Would highly recommend.
Professor Glass is a great professor my only problem was that you are only given 3 grades for the entire semester including the final and they are all essay based. He does not provide power points during class or on canvas this is strictly lecture based. He is really funny though.
Its all essays, so keep that in mind. Hes a tough grader, but gives good advice. He didnt make us buy the book, but if you think youll miss class often, buy it. He covers a lot of ground in class, and you never know what the exams will ask. Hes fun to listen to, and I never got bored in class. If you dont like stand up comedy, dont take him.
Engaging lectures. Just show up, take notes on a laptop. Exact dates DO NOT MATTER. Glass's lessons are fascinating, and Glass seeks to teach the reasoning behind pivotal events in history. As long as you pay attention to lectures, the tests will be a breeze. It's that simple! Before each test, he says grammar doesn't have to be perfect.
Dr. Glass is a great professor! Before exams, he lets students know of one essay question that's on the exam. Use that essay, it's most of the exam grade. Going to his office hours is a great way to get one on one teaching. Overall, one of my favorite professors at Texas State.
professor glass is amazing! he made learning history fun. just show up to class and take good notes and you will succeed
Glass is an amazing professor. history isn't my strongest subject but he made the class interesting and gave enough information for you to be prepared. He is super funny. He only has the midterm, book report, final, and attendance taken as a grade so it's important for you to come to class and take good notes, and do your best on these exams.
i looked forward to coming to class and hearing his lecture. there's only three assignments for this class and for his tests he will give you one of the essay prompts so you can work on it before! he grades very easy so don't stress too hard and honestly just show up and pay attention and you WILL succeed. sad i cant take my next class with him
Hes so awesome! Theres only 4 grades in the entire class. You have to pay attention because he does old school teaching and just has to you listen to him lecture. Make sure to take great notes and try not to miss because you could miss information that will be on the test. He was so great and funny. Definitely laughed a good amount in this class
Bryan is a very chill professor. He tells you exactly what you need to know and is very straight to the point. Hes funny and will help his students! Downside is you are graded from 3 papers: A midterm, book report and the final exam and Attendance is a grade too. If you do well on the final it will replace a low grade so it helps to get that A.
Very knowledgable. Makes learning history enjoyable. As long as you show up and take good notes you should be able to make an A.
The professor is great, engaging lectures that actually get you interested in history, but his TA was awful. I am a straight A student, and this class gave me a B. There are only 4 grades, attendance, a book review, a midterm and final. The tests are straightforward, but the grading was very tough and he doesn't give helpful review on what to study
There's a reason he's a 5 star professor on here. I love coming to his classes
I am taking 3368Z (Pandemics) and I could not ask for a better History professor. I strive to be like him one day! His lectures are awesome but you have to be in class to take notes as he does not post in canvas (which is fine with me personally). Cannot wait to take more classes with him in the upcoming semesters!
Dr. Glass is a hilarious professor who makes learning about European Colonization fun in its dark humor way. He likes to talk about politics, Europe, and making fun of the French. He's pretty chill and open to helping students learn more about something spoken about in class.
Professor Glass makes learning easy by keeping the class engaged with his personality. He doesn't use any slideshows and instead writes important key things on the chalkboard while talking about it. He makes class fun and makes history easy to understand and remember. TAKE HIM!!
I had the honor of sitting front and center for his class. He is clearly passionate about teaching, history and making you laugh. Graded on attendance, a Book report, the midterm, and the final exam. Pay attention during lectures, take notes, and participate. Hands down the best professor here at Texas State.
Best prof in the HIST dept/all of TXST. Fun lectures and teachers history as a story line, makes info retention better! Attendance not mandatory but you do have to be in class to take notes as he does not post in canvas. 2 exams and 1 essay, pretty easy. TAKE HIM !!
His lectures are great and he is great at emphasizing what is important to take notes on. Not a strict grader, just listen to his lectures and you will learn everything you need to know for the exams.
TAKE HIM!!! Best prof at TXST. Doesn't take attendance but you need to go bc there's no book and nothing on Canvas. However his class is so fun that you'll want to go. Somehow the way he lectures makes you remember everything. He emphasizes things you need to know for the tests (midterm and final) also has a great personality. Diabetic king
I took Glass' History 1310 class online and it was wonderful. He tells the story of history in such a compelling way and he's kinda full. He lets you know his take on history and even dives into some of his own thoughts. Just go to class take the notes and ask the questions. Loved this class and would take again!
Overall i loved this professor
This was my 3rd class with Dr. Glass and it was amazing to have been his student 3 consecutive semesters. His pirates class is hard to get in because of how popular it is but it was so much fun. I learned a lot about the life at sea! Class is amazing and if you can take him please do! He really is the best professor out here in the History dept.
LOVE DR. GLASS! Probably my favorite professor of all time. The class was 3368Z which was Pandemic (no option to chose that specific course). Though online he was so funny and charismatic even though the webcam. The course is awesome all together and Dr. Glass pulls it together to make it more fun every class!
Probably on of my favorite professors. He love what he does and honestly really made me want to change my major to History. You have to show up to every class because he teaches in lectures where you just hear him talk with no slideshow or notes. He explains the material very well and honestly makes learning so so much fun.
Genuinely the best professor at Texas State with fun and interesting classes. Kind of a stand-up comedian as well. He cares a lot about his students and the material he's teaching. There's no slides/notes posted on canvas but his lectures are so great you won't want to miss them anyways. Change your major to history and take his classes!!!!!
Dr. Glass is the best professor at this university, he makes his class very enjoyable through his comedy and rants. By far the best professor I have ever taken in college. Show up to class, take notes and you will pass. 10/10.
He only gives 2 tests and 1 essay. He's great at teaching content but goes off on a lot of tangents. I found him funny most of the time but sometimes it interfered with getting to the content. He was an easy grader for me and gave an extension to all of his classes for the essay. I had fun in his class even if I didn't always agree with him.
I genuinely appreciate his patience and communication. I struggled on the midterm and had several tech issues, but he set time aside to talk with me after class. He answered about 50 of my questions and has been beyond Watch the videos, and don't be afraid to ask questions. Pro Tip: Ask him to tell your class pirate stories
He is an easy grader and his classes are easy. That is why his ratings are so high. The professor himself is loud, arrogant, and very full of himself. He is very self aware of the rating he has on this website and never fails to mention it at the beginning of every semester. Gets distracted extremely easy in class and goes on long tangents.
Would 100% take this class again, a very engaging professor. Your grade depends on showing up to these lectures though, so if you show up, you will have a great semester!
Although he seems like a cool person in his lectures, I don't agree how the class is formatted. Three total grades for the entire semester, a midterm, a research paper, and final exam. He rambles a lot in lectures which feels you're wasting time being there. A lot of the exam material is not covered during class so make sure to read the chapters.
you have to go to class to pass the exams, he only has 3 grades so pay attention
Nice & handsome teacher, 3 assignments out of this whole semester. book review, midterm, final. the midterm is really hard/over irrelevant stuff. he did offer a 10 point curve if you attended his lecture in the beginning of the semester, so was guaranteed an A the entire semester. you MUST go to class, taken each day and counts towards your grade.
He was a very good lecturer, but there were only three grades the whole semester, and the grading was very tough. Also, the final exam was over content not covered in class. Attendance was mandatory, as there was no notes or slides on the screen just some important names or titles on a tiny whiteboard.
One of the best history professors. He brings the material to life through engaging lectures with no slides - just chalk and his passion for the subject. Attendance is a must, but worth it. unstuckstudy was a game-changer for preparing for exams.
Have taken his classes, prior, they all follow a similar structure, the lectures are very memorable. Highly recommend for a memorable lessons and enjoyable experience.
not bad in total, but a little weird, goes into tangents often about politics.
Bryan was the funniest and most interesting Professor I've had since being here! Usually I find history very boring but he always managed to keep the ENTIRE class engaged. He does teach old school so be prepared for that, No PowerPoints, just raw lecture with some things written on a board. If you don't show up you will not pass.
Professor Glass was one of the worst professors I've ever had. He entertained students unnecessary comments way too often and that would lead to him going off topic. Sometimes his tangents would go on for half the class period without focusing on the actual lecture which was very annoying. However his lectures were alright when he was teaching them.
Brian Glass is extremely egotistical, very politically charged and will often go on tangents, resulting in losing half the class time you ordinarily would have. He knows what he talks about but loves to entertain students who care to argue with him. Very full of himself. The TA doesn't grade well also.
Professor Glass himself is a nice person but is very hard to follow along class material wise. There is no text book or powerpoint to follow along and he loves to go on long tangents not relating to the content for over half the class time. The test are very specific and writing based and are graded very harshly.
Im pretty much a history geek on my midterm/final i would pour so much detail into it. TA danielle is a tuff grader and dont provide good feedback. graded by 4 things which does not provide room for your grade. he is very passionate about what he teaches, but he goes off comment a lot and tends to make political comments irrelevant to the class.
Professor Glass was an amazing teacher! The best at Texas State! He is so clear and concise that you would only have trouble if you failed to show up or pay attention. He related history to modern-day issues, showing us that everything has a precedent. I learned so much from him that now I'm thinking about changing my major from biology! A++++
this class was only graded on 3 things. he only talks no slide shows or anything. i showed up to class everyday, took notes, retained information but still did bad.
Dr Glass is an amazing professor!! His lectures are easy to follow interesting. He lectures to the class so showing up to class and taking good notes are important to doing well.
Loved his class, his lectures were told like a story so it was very interesting. He doesn't use power points or have any assignments. Grade was only based off 2 essay exams and one final book report. If you take good notes and listen in class it's very easy but not for everyone
I loved this class, Dr. Glass is very personable. He grades pretty lightly, but he rarely give constructive feedback/ guidelines. He makes it a point to connect to the students, which for the Pandemics class works out very well. Biggest con is that there is only 4 grades, one of which being a 10 paper, but that's what you get in an advanced course.
Top 3 professor I've ever had. I took him for both history of piracy and Scottish history because I enjoyed his class so much. He's really funny and his lectures are engaging, he's more than reasonable regarding grading, and you can tell he loves teaching. 100% take him if you can.
You only have three grades a midterm, book review, and final exam. He lectures and then eventually posts notes. He does take attendance but i would honestly wait for the code at the start of class then dip. I finished with a 97 because if you just lock in for the three grades you'll never have to worry about that class. Passionate teacher!
