Had him for the english lab. He is so easy and is right there to help with in-class assignments. He likes every student and wants us all to succeed. If you ever have an essay, go to the writing center to get help with it. Chillest class with the chillest teacher was awesome!!

He is an awesome teacher; he takes the time to help you if you don't understand the work. He assigned some reading but they were very interesting. He also assigned a lot of essays but was not a seriously hard grader. 100% would take again. Hope he would teach higher levels too!

I had him for English 100 and 1A. I came to PCC hating English and feeling like I just couldn't write. He helped me through it. He breaks it down for you. You feel like you don't know what to do and he helps you until you get it. He does leave readings and 2-4 questions almost every meeting but it is to help with future essays. AMAZING TEACH. & HOT

Gonzalez was the first English professor I ever took entering into PCC and it is honestly the best decision I have ever made! You can tell he cares about his students so much. If you don't understand something, he will always be there to help no matter what and break everything down for you. I would definitely take again and recommend to everyone!

You need to put in a lot of time and effort to get an A. He is very helpful and cares for his students, but his lectures can get kind of boring because he talks too much. He likes to talk about his son and tell stories. He loves class discussions and people who participate.

A lot of these comments don't make sense because he doesn't give quizzes in 1A. He's a tough grader, but makes it clear what he expects. Also, it isn't an ESL course, so people complaining about that shouldn't have taken him. Overall, he helps and believes in his students.

One of the best English professor I encountered in PCC so far. You will have 5 total essays/paper to write, inc. midterm and final in class. He gives feedback on your essays so you can improve and resubmit again for grade improve. You will have to do reading every time, so just prepare for it that you'll be fine.

I took ENG1A during Winter. It was kinda tough by writing 1 paper per week, but his class was super fun. I love the readings he assigned to us because they were meaningful and helped me to reflect on my life and values. Make sure you read through texts, work hard on paper, ask questions, and have fun in his class.

I took Eng. 100, 1A, and 1C w/ prof. G. AMAZING. So caring about his students and created a relationship outside of class, always being available. He wants participation and expects readings to be done in order to have class discussions! It helps with papers. I have graduated, now at USC, and still to this day, we keep in touch. Prof. Gonzalez is the best Eng. prof. at PCC! This class is not hard at all, there was 3 essays, 1 research paper, and two in-class essays (midterm/final) He is not a tough grader, as long as you follow the guidelines of the paper you should do just fine. I do consider myself pretty decent in writing, but if you're not he is very helpful and caring

I took Bryan this winter and it was fun! I dont like taking 7:30am classes but his efforts in making early mornings more vibrant are awesome. Just put in your best writing on the assigned essays, correct your essays upon feedback, go to class and i guarantee youll earn a good grade

I took intro to novel at 2021 Spring semester. He respects students' opinion, gives good feedback about essays, lenient to due date and overall easy grader. We read 4 books this semester and discussed about 1-2 chapters every class. As long as you read, you will be fine. It will be a fun GE class.

Every subject we talked about was genuinely interesting which made the readings great. I think a lot of people take his kindness for granted. Take him, he cares about your success!

He was the best Professor I have ever had!!! Not only was he teaching us to the best ability but because I was taking a athletic class he would take the time to come to all the home games for each sport and really support everyone. Really understanding with busy sports schedules and such a nice guy and super funny.

You can't go wrong with Professor Gonzalez. I took his athletic class for English and he was really flexible and caring. Always puts your needs first. There are a couple essays and a final project but overall it's just reading and paying attention. If you show up to class and do the work you're fine.

I'm an older student with learning disabilities coming back to school. I'm SO glad I had Professor G. His classes encourage participation and even counter opinions. The reading was thought provoking. He took the time to work with me and help me in the lab. You earn your grade and I liked him so much I signed up for his 1C class.

I took 1B and was in person. Attendance is highly preferred to discuss indepth about readings. Readings were actually really interesting and he asks about your interpretation rather than trying to force a perspective on you. Only 4 essays the whole semester and 2 discussions each week. He is a great teacher; he is understanding and responds quickly

Professor Gonzalez is a very good english teacher. Main part of your grade is 4 essays throughout the semester. Toward the beginning of the semester there are a bunch of discussion posts that are very easy, but will bring your grade down a lot if you forget them. Essays have clear criteria, and he gives you very helpful feedback.

Literally no complaints. Amazing professor who genuinely cares about his students inside and outside of class. Very respectful and greets everyone in class. A lot of readings but very doable. Professor Gonzalez is an exceptional teacher! He is understanding, caring and funny. He gives multiple opportunities to make up previous assignments. His grading is very lenient and understanding,just do your work and turn it in at a reasonable time (he often accepts late work with a few exceptions on major assignments).I am taking him again for 1B

Professor Gonzalez is badass! He is funny, knowledgeable, can keep a conversation going and is always in a good mood. He is reachable outside of the classroom and helps above and beyond. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

prof Gonzalez is one of the best professors I have ever had. hes vary caring to students and understands life happens and gives you extra Time on assignments as long as you have a good reason.

4 total essays + final, but trust it isn't as bad as you may think. Prof Gonzalez is one of the best professors PCC has to offer. He gives you plenty of time to complete your work and will allow extensions as long as you give a good reason. His lectures are engaging and thought provoking and he's literally a chill guy that cares for his students.

Professor Gonzalez here is, Simply put… a friend that won't let you fail his class if you let him. Pros/Cons: a family person; love pep talks; open to hobbies sharing between lectures; pushy towards essay edits if potential for better grades; AND will always reply to any questions/concerns in-person or canvas chats

Absolutely LOVED my time in Professor Gonzalez's class. He is by far one of, IF NOT, the best professors that I had. He's one of those professors that genuinely wants to see you succeed in his class, and not only that, but he is extremely chill and is a likable person. He made the class feel like home for sure.

best teacher of all time, easy A. classwork is so easy, you never get any homework unless you don't finish somehow. easy grader on essays and is very lenient on if you need extra time

Best decision you can make is taking his class. I loved his 1A I took him for 1b too! He is very fun and keeps the class laughing while teaching. he brings good vibe and you feel good about the class. Theres no homework unless you don't finish the class discussion post. It's impossible to not get an A in his course.

Best professor ever!! Take him for English 1A and I promise you you won't regret a single thing. He's the best prof out of any prof that I've taken this year. Needed to let his rating go up so I am rating him.

Prof. Gonzalez is the best english teacher at PCC! Took him for 1A and 1B and if you get a chance take him for 1C too! He genuinely cares about his students and wants you to succeed. Accepts late work all sem and will give full credit if it's not super late. You can miss up to 4 classes (email first). Communication is key and he will help you.

Took him for 1A and had to come back again, the best professor!! I had a lot of personal issues and missed a few classes but he let me turn in all of my late work for full credit or half. Always let him know what's going on and he'll help you. Group work for discussions, 4 essays + 1 in class. Easy A if you do the work.

One of the best teachers I have puts time for any of his students and really loves to teach, if you just go to every class and do the work it's really not that hard. You have 3 papers and a final and rest of work is done in class. If you are bad at English take him and he will actually teach you and do it so well. Best teacher at PCC!!!!!!!

Prof Gonzalez is the best professor out there fr. as my first year in college i came into class hating english but he made me become better and do better, maybe even starting to like it lol. he really cares about his students and takes the time to make sure EVERY one succeeds. his class gets full so fast and that says a lot. he's also very chill!!!

10000% RECOMMEND. He is the best, his lectures are interesting, keeps things short and I was never bored in class. If you just do the work and follow instructions his class is easy. He basically teaches you how to write essays so there is no reason you should do bad unless you dont pay attention.

Amazing teacher - easy A but u need to work for it. He will teach u what he looks for in an essay (he allows revisions and accept late work). There are weekly discussions, short readings, 3 essays+1 research paper+1 in person final essay. He is so easy to talk to and cares for his students; I now understand why his classes were filled up so fast!

Professor G changed my perspective on English Lit analysis. He's a hardworking and extremely caring instructor. Be ready to read, but also be ready for a supportive instructor who wants to see you succeed. His office hours are chill and he makes class worth it. 100% recommend to take him!!! He is a one of kind professor who is very caring & makes you really understand the lectures. He walks you through all the essays & helps you with anything that you may need. Show up, do all your work, & you'll be just fine in the class. Don't be afraid to ask for help he is always approachable during & after classes!
