I took this professor for Human Anatomy and Physiology for two semesters.My major is Nuclear Medicine. I think Dr.Spohn is exactly what any student who is serious and wanting to learn needs. He doesnt give you a grade he helps you earn one,but you have to be willing t work for it as well.He's great

Professor Spohn is an interesting teacher, he's excited about his work, I learned a lot in his class, I just couldn't understand his strategy, he have a different technique and different ways of doing his subject,I am hoping to pass his class, with a C or better, take him, you will learn a lot.

If u do not believe in evolution save your self the troble and dont take him. i myself am still debating, but i found him easy as a teacher. just telling u.

Sometimes we felt as if he was talking over our heads, using terminology that we didn't quite understand, and this made the class more difficult than it already is. If you LOVE Biology, then you and Dr. Spohn will get along wonderfully. If you are a blonde female, watch out b/c he may assume you are dumb.

Really liked this teacher. Exactly what you would expect from a science teacher that collects bugs for a hobby. If you do a little work, will get a good grade. Lots of opportunities for extra credit. Even on tests. Great teacher!!!!

Dr. Spohn LOVES biology and has infinitely more patience than I could ever muster. He will take the time to dumb it down for even the dimmest of students and walk them through it. Cares very much that you understand. LOVES to see the lightbulb come on above a student's head when they finally "get it." I love his wacky sense of humor too. He's fun.

He is a little wacky, especially with his safari hat. He made the class entertaining and interesting although the labs didn't seem to pertain to the material. I would recommend him to anyone that wanted to learn biology. Hint--do the extra credit and review guides!!

His class is ok. As long as you read and take notes you will do fine. He does care about his students and wants them to succeed. He only singles someone out if they fall asleep in class, and in that case you deserve it. He provides enough extra-credit so even if you are doing bad you will still pass his class.

Dr. Spohn is a wacko. He is fun to listen to sometimes, and the safari hat, the greatest! He is actually a very knowlegeable man. Watch out for his short answer test and DO THE REVIEW SHEETS! The labs are a waste of 3 hours but he gives plenty of extra credit should you need it. I would take him again.

He does kind of make you feel stupid when you ask a question but I don't pay any attention to that. I'd rather risk feeling stupid then get the question wrong. If you take notes and read you'll do fine on the tests.

I dreaded taking this class but took it as required. He made biology as interesting as it could be for me. He is very enthusiastic about biology and it shows. He gives many opportunities for extra credit so if you falter, you have plenty of chances to make it up. Make sure to study his notes and you will do fine!

Hes a good teacher! he makes it easy to learn,does alot of stuff to apply what hes teaching to real life so you can remember it. Tests are VERY easy, read notes befor the test easy A. hes a good teacher if you dont like Bio, and easy enough to pass and get through if thats all you need!. I recommend him to just about anyone and books are cheap!

He is a very good professor and you will learn a lot if you show up to class and pay attention. He may teach like you are in middle school at times but the information does get across and absorbed. Take him and enjoy his kookiness.

I liked Dr.Spohn, i'm in duel enrollement so he had a bunch of high schoolers but he has PAITIENCE! someone fell asleep in class so about 5 people took pictures of him in the middle of Dr.Spohn's lecture! and he didn't say anything! But he's a good person that cares about his students, just pronounce his name right and study for the tests

HAHAHAHA!!!! Kinda weird, but he's a bug guy...what do you expect??? lol He does kinda "dumb up" the material and if you take this class before Anatomy I, you'll do so much better!!! He is very helpful and qwerky too!! But makes biology fun and helps to get the right answers to you when you have questions. Study guides before each test!! Recommend!

I think he was kind of weird but hey he is a bug doctor & his fav animal is a ladybug!(lol) He is very helpful though and really tries to make sure you understand every concept. He gave review sheets before our tests which really helped on tests. Ask for reviews if he doesnt do them. Overall, great professor! Highly recommended!

He's the best. He's helpful and understanding. He's a little strange sometimes but that makes his class fun. His tests are reasonable and his labs can be a little difficult sometimes, but he's always there to answer questions. The only thing I didn't like about his class were those homework puzzles. They are tedious and annoying.

Dr. Spohn is a great guy, but a little silly at times. He tries to make the class sort of fun, and he gives lots of chances for extra credit.

I really like Dr Spohn! He made me like a subject that I did not like before. I found it was easy to learn and just had to read what he handed out. It was a lot of work, but he also gave extra credit to take up anywhere you may have been lacking. Not sure how anyone can get lower than a B in this class. I am taking him again next semester ofr 2011

Dr. Spohn is an amazing teacher! He loves what he is doing. And starting this past semester is offering 5 diff test you can take. you can take all and kepp highest grade. Hes Very interesting and knows ALOT! offfers extra credit so there is NO way you can fail this class! Easy A as long as you put in a little bit of work! TAKE HIM! you wont regret!

I love this guy! If you science is not your subject, and you need an easy A; this is the class for you! Reviewed the "exact" questions that were to be on the tests. There's no excuse for failure in this class! You will also leave understanding & appreciating Biology.

Professor Spohn is probably the best professor I've ever had. He gives you a study guide which is like identical to the tests. If you have a question he will explain until you completely understand. I finished with an A, and got 101s on all the tests. Highly reccommended!

professor spohn is awesome. i took him for biology lab and it went very well, also interesting. im not good with biology so i figured this would be a tough course but its not. he let us work in groups, we had not test all year excluding the end of the year final.

If your looking for a bio class that you can get an easy A in and still want to learn this is your class. He gives study guides before each test. DO THEM. Come for the labs, they help your grade. And make sure you do one of the extra credit assignments, will definalty help your grade in the end. I got an A in Bio2. PP/Lectures very useful.

Dr. Spohn is one of the BEST. Prior to exam, you are given review sheets. Study them. Exam is all review sheets EXACTLY + addl info. So be sure to study. He makes class FUN and interesting. You will be surprised how much you learn. His teaching style will spark a "science" interest, even if you aren't a science person. TAKE THIS PROFESSOR

Wonderful teacher and very knowledgeable of the entire science world. Gives study guides prior to exam (know them word for word) and adds diagrams from the book that are discussed in class. Grades lab and homework word puzzles, these tend to save some people's grades. Take him as often as you can!

He's a real nice guy, but I honestly didn't learn anyhting in his class. And when he would explain things to me, they would just go right over my head! Test's are pretty easy though, thier generally just like the study guide. May be helpful if you generally enjoy science.

Very easy class and literally had no homework. If he ever did give us something to do, it was for extra credit. DO NOT BUY A BOOK! His power points sufficed and we did not use the book at all. Gives you all the answers to the study guides before the tests. Flexible if you have to miss a test as long as you let him know beforehand. Great teacher!

This was a great class. No homework, just make sure that you study the study guide for his test. He is very passionate about what he is teaching and is very understanding and clear. I would love to take another one of his classes!

You might not like his personality at first. Spohn is a bit quirky to say the least. Aside from this, Dr. Spohn is overly qualified for teaching a Bio 2 class. He knows his stuff inside and out, and does an excellent job on lectures in getting the information to you. As long as you complete assignments, you will pass.

Great professor. Responds to emails fast and is very clear on how to complete assignments. Very lenient on due dates, as long as you finish before the end of the semester you will get the grade u deserve with no penalties. There are three tests total and they are tough. Got a C, D and F, but passed the class with a B. Class work is easy (google).

Dr. spohn is funny and makes biology interesting. The labs are fun and easy. mid term and final were comprehensive of quizes. highly recommend. as long as you do the work and show to ALL the labs you will get an A

Great prof, though a little disorganized. He's a fair grader, but if you don't put in the work, you won't pass. The homework is a bit annoying, I wasn't a fan of his "wikis", or his love of student interaction, but overall it was an enjoyable course. If you're having trouble with the material, he's more than happy to help.

Really enthusiastic professor, and teaches very well. All homework is online. (he does give a lot of homework, but it is easy) There are no tests, except for final. Notes are online as well, but it's better to be in class to take notes because he says extra stuff. Doesn't explain everything, so the book is important. Overall, really good class.

Labs are simple and easy to follow. He's very helpful & caring when responding to questions. A tad bit disorganized, but nothing you can't find your way around. Lab reports are found in the textbook and are easy to do (just answer some questions and draw a few graphs). There are prelab quizzes online, 10 questions. Answers found in book or online

Dr. Bryan Spohn is a great professor! First time student taking a course outside online and his teaching is amazing by far I learned so much about biology that I had before. He will give you opportunities to make up your grade so that you can actually pass his class which I would recommend others to take this course!

Professor Spohn is the one of the best science professor at Cecil Center North. This professor made sure that each student understand the concept for the course and his lab reports are easy and I would recommend others to take this professor to take for a college credit.

Professor Spohn is a really great science professor at FSCJ. This professor believes in giving extra credit and also enough time for students to complete their assignments for his classes. BSC 1005 & 1005L were the easiest courses to take with him because he cares about students success and plus he is totally there for all of his students.

Dr. Spohn is a great professor. Recently took BSC2010C and the class was really easy which he made it a effortless course . Dr. Spohn gives extra credit opportunities to students along with resubmissions. I would recommend others to take his classes. Does sorta cancels classes at times make sure you check blackboard.

Professor Spohn gives feedback and allows you to redo work to improve your grade. He also grades and responds to emails pretty fast. The only thing is, he doesn't post work until a few days before it is due and he doesn't post work in advance for those that are thinking about taking him online.

He is quirky and sometimes nosey, but means well. A true passion for science and an even bigger passion for students to learn. He has a hard time emailing back on time, but if you follow his office hours you should be fine. He understands when things come up in life. Truthfully, this class has been my best/favorite, I have ever taken at FSCJ.

I would recommend this class to those who need to get a natural science out of the way. Expect some homework. They are easy but takes a lot of time doing. He is very nice and has a true passion for biology.

I took professor spohn for Bsc2010c and it was a easy class, his assignments are in sapling learning & also you have to purchase a lab book he has for you in the book store, other than that he was very helpful. as long as you get an A on his labs & HW & also discussions, if you fail his final you will still pass the class

Despite some of the bad reviews Spohn was not that bad. It isn't that hard to get a passing grade because he will actually help you out if you missed assignments to even make up for the full credit. Homework, discussions, and tests aren't hard. Only cons is no organization really and lectures are very slow I stayed for maybe one still got an A.

I took his 12-week online class and he was so nice! He grades/responds very quickly and cares for his students. Textbook is online and FREE. If I had the opportunity to take him again, I would.

Took his BSC1005 online course and I loved it! We just had to do easy discussion posts and quizzes (you get TWO attempts, even on the final exam!!) He is very kind and cares for students. I would definitely take him again if I have the opportunity to!

I took this class online for 15 weeks, and I would gladly do it again. I ended up finishing the class with a 90% the professor is to be thanked for that. He will give extensions to the work if you ask and doesnt ask for much! Im not sure about in person class, but taking this class online was the greatest choice i couldve made.

The work is relatively easy and accomplishable but only if you put in the time and effort. For me, he said the final exam WAS the group project so hopefully, it's like that for yall too because it's pretty easy. The way he explains it is weird but once you get an idea of what to do you'll fly past it. Quizzes and discussions are also included.

Great course! I thought online biology would be for laughs, but he made the class worth while! Loved the activity's and they weren't too difficult. Plenty of chances on quizzes and he offered great feedback. I would take him again!

I enjoyed the class, mainly consisted of discussion posts and quizzes. 1 final exam at the end of the semester. All the discussion posts were interesting topics, so I found it fairly easy. Towards the end, the quizzes got a bit difficult and the final is 90 questions, however it wasn't too bad.

The class is fairly straightforward with discussion posts and quizzes. While the final exam can be tricky, the professor is understanding and provides extensions if needed. unstuck study was a helpful supplement for quiz prep.

Mr Spohn is a very caring professor, you can tell he's very passionate about biology. If you need any help at all with the course, you can just ask him. We'd do labs every class so participation is needed, but they're not hard. You'll have to do reading on openstax as well. A majority of his work was on canvas. He's also very lenient on late work.
