Dr. Gros was an awesome teacher! His tests are pretty easy if you know the material. He posts his powerpoints too. And since it's a night class, he usually lets everyone out early. He also gives 4 random attendance checks which adds 4 points to your grade if you're there. Definitely take this class, you'll get an A!
LOVE this guy! He is by far my favorite professor at LSU. He has an awesome personality and really knows his stuff. Go to class to get the notes. DO NOT buy the book - you won't need it. I found the material to be very interesting. Three tests and multiple bonus opportunities. Easiest A I've ever made!
Dr. Gros was such a good teacher! Definately take the night class with him if you have to take 3082. It never lasted the whole 3 hours, but he's really interesting. We also never used the book; tests are easy if you studied the notes.
Lectures come straight from book so if you miss class you can catch up. He's very funny and involves the class in his lectures. Tests are straightforward and he gives random bonus points for being in class. I would definitely recommend taking him!
Interesting class
Great class. Fabulous teacher. Very passionate about psychology. Kept my interest in a night class, which is hard to do. I highly recommend
great teacher, great class...very interesting
Good to go to class because he mentions the exams a lot!
Looked forward to going to this class every week. Great teacher!
Gros make class fun, and it's super easy. If he says it is on the test ITS ON THE TEST! Attendance isn't mandatory, but it really is interesting, and Gros tries hard to make it funny. Take this class! :)
Very funny/interesting class with a great and engaging professor.
Great teacher, interesting class!
One of my favorite professors of all time! Go to class to listen to what he has to say, if he repeats himself twice, it will be on the test.
The best teacher I have ever had at LSU. my favorite class for sure. prof gros kept it very fun and interesting. definitely take this class! 3 tests that are very easy as long as you study!
One of the top three profs I've had in my four years at LSU. Take Gros
one of the best professors at lsu! everyone should take this class.
Great class, definitely recommended!
loved this class! good prof, nice guy, easy tests! attendance isn't mandatory but its good to go because he tell's you what questions he'll ask on the tests. always got out early. basically if you study the powerpoints or just listen to lectures you'll pass. interesting class, def recommend it!
Nice Guy. I thought the class would be more interesting then it was. He reads exactly from the slides, I got more from the book then his lectures. But overall recommend the class. It's one of the better psychology classes.
One of my favorite classes I've taken. Great teacher, interesting material and very straight forward tests.
Probably my favorite class I have taken at LSU.
Great teacher, funny guy. He often cuts class an hour short, which is great for a night class. The tests are straight from the slides and workbook. Definitely worth taking!
He is a really good teacher! He keeps the class interesting with examples, and he has a really good personality. A pro is that you don't have to come to class all of the time as long as you review the slides and things on noteswap. I would definitely recommend this class! It is very interesting, and Dr. Gros is great!
Awesome teacher! Lecture was 3 hours long, but he did fairly well with keeping attention. Attendance not mandatory, but can be helpful when he hints towards questions that he will put on test; he posts slides online. Studying through them a few nights before should get an A.
Good teacher and lectures weren't too bad, never went the full 3 hours. Tests were fine as well except for the occasional A, B, or A and B questions
Never went to class. DONT buy the book or study guide. Everything you need is on note swap, just read over some of those study guides. So easy! Definitely take and test are extremely easy. Also gives bonus opportunities
Easy, easy- never went to class except for tests
Very interesting and engaging professor. Doesn't take attendance. You can find all of the notes online. You don't use the textbook. He gives a study guide before each test so you know exactly what to study. Grade is only based on 3 tests. There are several extra credit opportunities. I would recommend this class.
He's awesome.
He is awesome. I went to class about a total of three times and I still got an A in the class. Lectures are really interesting, though and he normally cuts class an hour short. I bought the book just so I could read it if I missed a lecture, but it is not mandatory.
Dr. Gros is funny and loves class participation. It's fun to participate in class lectures; he doesn't give much extra credit (7 pts total), and gives only 3 exams. Exams are easy if you attended lecture (usual 2 hours) and studied. The class covers interesting material and a lot in little time. Definitely take this class. Final grade 152150
Easiest class ever. You will never stay the full three hours. He gives an exam study guide before each exam and if you know it then you will be fine. I used the book for more clarity but it's not necessary.
Great class. Very interesting, and Gros is very interested and knowledgable in what he teaches. Attendance not necessary. DO THE EXTRA CREDIT. His tests are online. He changes 5-8 questions per 50 question test, so study. Changed almost 12 the final from test bank and thought I failed it, so study for the final!!!! (not cumulative).
He kept me interested for the class. Not dull. Only 2 tests and final which are accompanied with a clear-cut study guide that if you study you will do extremely well.
This dude is awesome. He offers a chance of 12% points. He curved 23 tests a little bit, but I emailed him about curving my grade of 87 to an A and he did. It might have been a final curve for everyone, but either way, if you DO THE EXTRA CREDIT you will be more than fine. Study the powerpoint and go to class to catch a few things he says out loud
Gros is a really funny and awesome professor! I would take him again in a heartbeat. I got a very high A in his class, and he gives bonus. Although it was a night class, he always let us leave an hour early and he kept his lectures interesting enough to make you want to be there. His tests were easy as long as you pay attention in class.
Gros is a great professor, very easy A. Lots of bonus opportunity. Book helps but is not mandatory. All powerpoint.
I took it as a 3 hour night class. He usually kept us for a majority of the time so I got really bored. Class was fairly easy. I studied maybe the night before or the day of and got an A. He doesn't take attendance but will give bonus points randomly. Textbook isn't required.
Great class. Great prof. He used case examples from real life. He typically only kept us for 2 hours or so of a 3 hour night class. So that is good.
Your only grades are 3 exams. Lots of bonus opportunities. Very funny and helpful guy, but not very available outside of class due to his other full-time job, so be sure to come with questions ready. He is very responsive to emails also. Lets you leave an hour early (I took a 3hr night class).
Dr. Gros is great. He's the first professor I've had at LSU where I actually enjoyed listening to his lectures. I took his night class, and although 3 hours is long and strenuous, he at max had the class stay for 2 hours out of the 3. He gives a TON of extra credit, so please take advantage of it. Would recommend this class to any and everyone.
Dr. Gros is great. Even though it is a night class, he is very lively and interesting during lecture and always releases class early (8pm-ish). Three exams, and the third exam is a non-cumulative final. No homework. Gives you notes, but gives you extra tidbits in lecture that aid with the test. I did not read the textbook and ended with an A.
Prof Gros is the best. This is a night class but he usually only keeps you for about 2 (6-8ish). He makes the class interesting and I loved going even though it was a night class. There are lots of bonus opportunities and you can tell that he really wants you to do good in his class. I would definitely take him again.
I love this man. His class is so easy and his lectures are incredibly interesting. He never lectured past 8pm for the entire semester. Definitely take him if you can, easy A+!
He was a really great professor and really cared about his students and the material. The tests weren't that hard--I studied the day of an attended most classes. He really just taught because he loved the material and sharing his knowledge. Interesting classes. 10/10 would recommend.
He was really interesting and caring.
Dr. Gros was by far my favorite professor this semester! His class is so interesting, and his lectures are not bad. He never keeps you the 3 hours and gives tons of extra credit. 3 exams, 50 points each. Surprise bonus for attending class. Overall amazing guy. Would definitely recommend.
He is awesome! Posts his power points so you don't have to attend lecture but I highly recommend because he gives hints to test questions and all exam material is straight from lecture. Lots of extra credit and very willing to meet with you outside class. let's out an hour early every week!
Great class
3 exams mcq + 5 bonus points. Don't need the book if u go to class and add all the extra things he says to his ppt's. Exams weren't "easy", final isn't cumulative but it was really hard/detailed. He's really nice and has no tolerance for cheating, which I agree with. Only took attendance once for a bonus point. Really interesting & fun class.
Dr. Gros is great! He is a practicing psychologist so has a lot of good stories that relate to the material. Attendance isn't mandatory, but there are some test questions that you wouldn't know unless you were in class that day. Gives plenty of bonus opportunities. Finished with a 105 A.
This class is usually three hours long late in the day which sounds really daunting, but it's actually not that bad. He usually doesn't want to lecture for more than an hour and a half. He posts powerpoints that you have to take notes on, but otherwise the exams are pretty straightforward. LOVES to give bonus points!
Dr. Gros is super cool, his lectures are always interesting, he gives extra credit and his test are pretty easy. He's very funny and really laid back! Definitely recommend him!!
defintiely take him for abnorm psyc, his was my favorite class at lsu, funny interesting lectures, class basically just runs through the DSM V, tests are pretty easy and he gives bonus points throughout semseter
The tests are super easy, just read the slides and notes. The lectures aren't mandatory but he's pretty funny and interesting so go a few times. They never run for the full time. He gives almost 10 points of bonus points to your raw score, so easy to get an A.
Loved this class. He posts PowerPoints from lecture on moodle. Lots of bonus opportunities. Only 3 exams. I passed with 150/150
Super Long Class, late in the day. He will let you out early but I did not find my self needing to go. He is a funny guy the material is interesting its just so long.
Professor Gros is really funny, and he makes going to a night class worth it. He also gives a list of terms to focus on, so making a quizlet with those topics is sufficient to study for the test. He also gives bonus for participating in psych research, writing papers, or attending class (sometimes). Highly recommend.
3 tests are all you get for the whole semester and about 4 chapters per test. If you are not majoring in psychology and don't have a history of psychology classes, he is NOT EASY! You have to know your stuff to pass his tests. They are VERY TRICKY and have a lot of scenarios. I studied for the test both with book and lecture and still made C's :(
Professor Gros is simply awesome. He cuts night classes short by around 45 minutes, and his lectures are engaging and funny. He also repeats information frequently so it's easy to remember. He offers a ton of extra credit and is very lenient as far as rounding grades up at the end of the semester goes.
Dr. Gros is an amazing professor. He knows exactly what he is talking about and posts all of his power points online so if you miss class it is no big deal. If he recommends watching a video, watch it!! Tests are not difficult, but you have to prepare for them. He gives you the option to earn up to five extra credit points. He is extremely funny!
Loved his lectures. He is a psychologist so he has stories for every topic we cover to help us remember and also see how a real life case may present. He also gave a possible 5 bonus points but ended up giving 2 extra- 1 on a low attendance night and 1 for a test question he didn't like. I enjoyed the course and would definitely recommend
He teaches really well and the test material comes straight from the powerpoints and lectures.
Very great professor. Test were very easy and straight forward, as long as you know the jest of the material. Extra credit is given.
Dr. Gros is a real gem. He is a practicing child psychologist and passionate about it. He throws in clinical anecdotes that keep class interesting and discusses exciting topics. One of the few professors that values the sacred nonmandatory attendance, but will give bonus every now and again for just showing up. Take him! Hes awesome
Dr. Gros is a fantastic professor. He is very knowledgeable about his field and shares his personal experiences as a clinical psychologist with the class. Lectures are engaging. Lecture tends to be 2 hours. Only 3 tests a semester. Go to lecture, take notes, and you will pass.
Dr. Gros is a really nice and funny guy. You have three tests in the class, so don't mess up on one. As long as you go to class, it is not bad and his lectures are fun to listen to. He knows what he is talking about and overall is a real solid choice. It is also only once a week, so he keeps you for 2 hours or so (sometimes less).
Funny and kind. Wants you to succeed
Very understanding and chill professor. Lectures were interesting and rarely lasted the whole 3 hours. There are only three tests, but he gives a lot of opportunities for extra credit. Tests are pretty straight-forward so if you go to class and take note of what he repeats and highlights, you should have no problem doing well.
Dr. Gros may have been the best prof. Ive had at LSU so far. His lectures are very entertaining and you learn neat things about different disorders... (not to mention hes extremely attractive... and single). There are 3 tests and they are pretty common knowledge anyway. Attendance isnt mandatory and its hard to get lower than a B in this class.
His class was very interesting and the material was pretty easy. Lectures were recorded and he posted all his powerpoints. The final is also noncumulative. Though attendance isn't required, it's recommended because he goes into more depth than his slides. He's also a pretty cool person.
Dr. Gros is by far my favorite psych professor. Lectures rarely lasted the whole 3 hours and the information is enjoyable and he teaches it very well. He's very caring and will offer any outside help. He's also a DILF so that makes class enjoyable;)
Graded on 2 tests and a final, but gives bonus for SONA research participation. I took this as a night class once a week and he never lectured the full time, but didnt rush through the information. Tests were straightforward, but you still need to study. Recorded zoom lectures, PowerPoints, and test reviews were posted so attendance is optional
very interesting subject. really enjoyed the class
Amazing teacher. Can tell he actually cares. He uploads all the lectures and doesnt over complicate anything. Also gives a study guide which was very useful.
Gros is an amazing professor & amazing guy overall. He doesnt surprise you on the exam with crazy material we didnt learn. He sticks to what he teaches. He makes 3 hour lectures interesting&funny. He genuinely cares about his students& doesnt make you feel like just another # in the system. Hes a real guy who understands people go thru stuff. 10/10
Dr. Gros was one of my favorite Psyc professors overall, as well as his class. This course was really interesting, and he knows the material well/shares personal experiences too. His tests are based off what he lectures, and exams were open note (though not sure if they still are). Highly recommend!!
Amazing professor! We only had two exams and the final graded, which wasn't great but it wasn't his fault. Test were all online and pretty easy. Textbook was a free PDF. Read the chapter and try to get the PSYC 3082 study guide book. His lectures are long when it's a night class, but he always tried to end early for us. Accessible outside of class!
Very cool and funny guy. It's really clear how much he enjoys being there. There's no homework or assignments. You're really just graded by 3 exams, but the exams are very easy to pass and there's a lot of extra credit offered. Would definitely take him again.
Dr. Gros loves to teach. He has a wonderful lecture, granted it's a 2-hour class. You can tell he is passionate about psych and makes lectures interesting. No homework, extra credit opps., but exam heavy. There are only 3 exams your grade is based off of. However, you'll have all the material you need if you go to lectures.10/10 would take again.
Dr. Gros is an amazing professor and lecturer. He is engaging and animated during lectures and his passion and understanding of the material really helped when preparing for exams. Course grade is based on exams only. If you attend class (the bare minimum) you will do fine. If you study you should get at least an A.
Dr. Gros was an amazing lecturer who made 3 hours (it was actually usually 2-2.5) go by super quickly. Very interesting material, and he provides a lot of great examples from his work! Exams are pretty easy if you know the material, and SONA extra credit is big.
I loved Dr. Gros!!! He was an awesome professor. The material is very interesting. His tests were also very easy. Take him!!
I love Dr. Gros!! A professor that really cares about his students. Lectures are amazing, easy and clear. He uses lots of examples, making easier to understand the material. I would definitely take him again
Dr. Gros is the best professor at LSU. He is a wonderful teacher, and keeps students engaged in long lectures and makes them so entertaining! The class is graded only on exams, but he gives extra credit before tests and allows 5 SONA credit points. He emphasizes in class what will be on the exams and gives reviews! He is perfect.
Best professor at LSU! He makes the long classes very entertaining and usually lets us out an hour early. The only grades are 3 tests but he emphasizes in class what could be on them and he offers extra credit through SONA. Then he moved one of our tests because of the parade for the girl's basketball team winning the national championship.
There are only 3 grades and those are 3 exams. So it's crucial to do well on those. No in-class work or homework.
Bryan Gros is my favorite professor at LSU! He made the lectures so fun and interesting. He offers extra credit on the week of Halloween if you dress up in a costume! If you need a psych course please take him he is the best. He is also so sweet and understanding. He will crack jokes throughout the lectures to keep you engaged. 10/10 professor!
You have three exams, no homework. He is a dedicated prof and understands how to make a night class interesting. he offers attendance bonus, a paper bonus, and SONA. so if you are struggling he offers extra credit. would def take him again.
This class is 3 tests, no homework, but lots of extra credit opportunities. The lectures were very interesting, and you can tell he really enjoys teaching. He is actually a child psychologist in the day and teaches at LSU for fun. Although it is a 3 hour night class, he makes it interesting and always let us out at least an hour early.
I never went to lecture, but I kind of wish I had because of how funny he is. At our test close to halloween, he gave us bonus if we came in a costume. I won't spoil his prank but it was hilarious. The only grades in this class are the tests, and I never really used the textbook, so don't spend ur money on it.
Great prof, great class overall. His lectures were fun and interesting, and he'll offer personal anecdotes and stories about his second job as a child psychologist. Study for the exams because there's only three of them, but there are a lot of opportunities for extra credit if you do badly on one.
Probably my fav professor! He's super nice and knows what he's talking about. The test aren't hard but I'd recommend going to lecture and studying. The class is very interesting and he will hint at some test questions. He also offered an online review before the exams. The only grades in the class are the 3 exams. He also let us out an hour early.
Dr. Gros was so interesting and made his lectures fun and funny. He also showed lots of videos in class which were fun to watch and helped me with grasping concepts and understanding examples of different mental disorders. My only issue is that his class is ONLY tests. But, there are extra credit opportunities.
Lets out 1 hour early. Class is interesting I recommend going. 5 bonus points through SONA and attendance bonus as well (we have had one point so far). His tests can be tricky, but easy as long as you study you will be good! He curves. He does review sessions over zoom before tests. 3 exams 50 points each plus bonus is all the points you can get.
Class would never take the full 3 hours. Dr. Gros was funny and engaging. The material is also super interesting. There is a textbook for the class, but I didn't buy it and never even needed it. There are 3 tests with a zoom review before each one. Highly recommend this class.
Super chill professor. Sucks that it is a night class but it is worth it.
If you're looking for an interesting PSYC course, TAKE DR. GROS!!! His lectures are so interesting, he tries to get you out early, and there were 6 raw points available for extra credit. He has a dry humor, but I love that, and his exam reviews on zoom (on his own time on the weekend) were so helpful to study! 10/10 recommend.
He can kind-of be passive agressive sometimes (esp. 1 on 1), but nice overall to class. Exams were pretty easy if you go to class and study powerpoints. Ocassional bonus in class for attendance. Lets out at 8 every night. Also gives 5 bonus points for doing SONA. Only 3 exams
Awesome class!
Best prof at LSU so far. Dr. G is a practicing clinical psychologist who uses examples from the real world to enhance learning. His dry sense of humor is hilarious. Keeps the class engaged. Attend lectures and take notes and you should be fine. Very interesting class. Great professor
A really great course, even for non-psych majors. Awesome professor. Dr. Gros is very knowledgeable. He has a practice and provides great examples. Although a night course, his style of teaching makes it exciting. He's funny too.
I loved Dr. Gros!! He was super funny and engaging. He lets you out at 8 even though the class is supposed to go until 9. There's only three exams, but they're all multiple choice. He lets you get up to 5 extra credit points either through a super easy paper or SONA.
Entire grade is based on three exams, gives exam review week before so pay attention to that. Very fun class.
Dr. Gros makes this night class fly by with his engaging lectures and dry humor. I didn't use the textbook much, but the exams were fair, and Unstuck study was a great study tool. Highly recommend this interesting PSYC course!
Goated professor
genuinely LOVE him. even tho the night classes can be a drag, he makes it so funny and paces the class well. exams are easy enough if you study. go to class bc he gives a lot of examples from his experiences that aren't on the lectures that can show up on the exam. he interacts a lot so he doesn't just lecture at you the entire time. def take!!
Great guy! Would take this class again.
Dr. Gros genuinely is a great professor. He is passionate about the course and explains things well. The class is supposed to be 6-9 but he lets out at 8. He makes the lectures as fun as he possibly can. The course is based off of 3 tests total, that's it. I studied but the first 2 tests I didn't do too good. Overall, recommend this class.
Dr. G is THE GOAT! Amazing professor, super funny! Don't let the night class scare you, he lets out early. Teaches from slides and it's basically the same as the 3 tests. Gives SONA/optional paper for extra credit. Tests are 50 multiple choice and really straight forward. I would take anything he teaches!!!
Awesome prof. Awesome class. Gros gives examples from his clinical work, which is very helpful for this course. He's also very funny. Really wants the students to learn. Even though it's a night course, I would definitely recommend.
TAKE HIM! Overall grade comes down to only 3 tests which can be terrifying but it wasn't that bad. I bombed the first test and still ended with a B because I knew how to study for the next two. Tests are 50 multiple choice and he offers SONA extra credit, or bonus paper. He genuinely wants his students to learn, and his lectures were interesting.
Very interesting class. Dr. Gros makes the class entertaining and very educational. He really wants you to learn and do well. My favorite professor so far.
Great professor, who made the night class enjoyable through providing real life examples. Only grade is exams, but does provide extra credit opportunities. It is highly possible to be successful in this class.
Prof. Gros is amazing; I have nothing but praise for him, and it's clear how much he loves the field of psychology. Great and interactive lectures. He does not take assistance; however, I do recommend being present in class, as he makes the subject really easy to understand with a lot of examples and videos. Only 3 exams as grades plus sona credit
I did not go to class and still did well. The information is not tough and he is a good teacher all in all.
Very easy class. You only have to show up for tests, and as long as you study the PowerPoint, you will be fine. His lectures are engaging, and the class is overall worthwhile.
AMAZING PROFESSOR!!! He made our three hour night class so fun and interesting, and literally never went the whole three hours. The only grade opportunities are his three tests, but he makes great study guides and posts his powerpoints. You also get the chance for up to five bonus points in his class. PLEASE take from him !!!
