Very clear lectures (as clear as you can get on such a subject, anyhow) and he's very helpful. His papers are easy and he's very lenient. Don't be scared away by how excited he gets, he's really a great prof.

I took his class over the summer so alot of matieral was covered in a rush. However, he is a very fair teacher and will give chances for extra credit. Very few grades.

I am womdering why more students have noy taken the time out to rate this remarkable proffessor. He loves to teach and will do what he can to help you. Tests are not easy but there buy no means hard. He really cares about the student. I love this proffessor HE ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nice guy. Tries to keep class interesting with jokes. 3 tests, 2 papers. Easy research paper of your choice. Tests come from notes so be there. Really doesn't use the book. Not many grades so do your best on what you can. Enjoys teaching and is passionate. There is no reason why you can't get an A.

He really cares about his students!! He loves to teach and definatley has a passion for it. It would be hard to fail his class although his tests are NOT easy. I got A's on both my paper's and so did alot of other students. I really will miss him!!

OMG!!! He is an AWESOME teacher!! He really cares about his students. He wants you to learn so ask questions and get involved. You dont really need the book. Tests come from notes however they are by no means easy. Come to class, do your papers and you will do fine. I love you Proffessor Morgan! Kat

Awesome, funny, and charming. He has hard tests but very fair. Did not use book so need to attend (also part of your grade). He is also not bad to look at for an hour or so.

Took Dr. Morgan for World Religions during the summer. He loves what he teaches and is very knowledgeable. And he's funny which is a plus. Take good notes, it will help with tests. We had a research paper from a topic you choose. You'll be challenged in his class, but he will make your time worth it. I always looked forward to attending his class!

If you attend class, take notes, and pay the least bit of attention, there's no reason why you should not ace the tests. Research papers are graded generously as long as you have a basic understanding of the English language and the topic at hand.

Great class! Go every day, take notes and you will do fine. Tests mainly come from the lecture notes, but the reading will help you with your essay questions. Grades papers pretty easily. He is very nice and loves what he does. Put an effort into the class and there is no reason you shouldn't get an A!

An interesting intro course. Dr. Morgan tends to rehash some material but overall is very thorough. He can be very funny in class. Is extremely nice and grades very fairly. The class is a mix of power point and lecture. You will have to write papers, but they are graded fairly.

I felt completely lost in this class. He consideres anything ever discussed in class or in the book fair game for test. Very aloof and noncommital. I think he tries to prove the point of philosophy but it's more aggrivating than anything.

Great professor. Made class interesting and fun. Only 3 tests and 2 papers, no extra credit. Tests come from notes so show up. Never used the book. Don't be afraid to speak up he loves class participation. Read the book if you dont want to look stupid during class participation.

I love this class, it was my favorite of the semester. Mr. Morgan has fun with his lectures, but they are important to the test so SHOW UP. The tests were all fairly easy as long as you study (3). The real challenge are the papers (2), they take a little bit of effort and thought. The level of difficulty is just right, as long as you pay attention

The exams are REALLY hard, and he doesn't give any reviews. I wouldn't recommend taking him. Over half the class failed the first 2 exams and dropped the class. He's pretty funny and I enjoyed the class but he's very unclear about the exams so everyone fails them. Don't buy the book, never even opened it.

I am struggling to make a good grade in his class. He is not clear on anything, we stand outside of the class asking eachother if we even understood what he was talking about. More then half of the class failed out within 2 test. Very unclear about the topic. I would not suggest him for someone going into this for the first time.

after the first test, i dropped the class. more than half the class failed that test. no test reviews, or even an overview of what would be on the test. i feel like we got off subject when he 'lectured'. after reading other reviews, im glad i wasnt the only one that was completely confused.

If you pay attention, take decent notes, and memorize the notes, the tests are not difficult. Passed the class easily with a high A, everyone else basically failed or passed with a "C" but their fault, most skipped class or expected test reviews. I wouldn't recommend him if your not wanting to actually study for tests though. Don't bother the book.

I think Professor Morgan is a good teacher. He's entertaining and tells great stories. The tests aren't hard if you just pay attention and take notes in class and study the notes. He gives you the short answer questions that will be on the test. His tests were okay. I got about a B average. Good professor. Quit whining.

Don't waste money on the book, it's not helpful and you won't use it. I and the majority of my class struggled horribly. His lectures are very unclear and hard to follow and he rambled for most of the class period. There were no concise major points and any tidbit was fair game. I wouldn't recommend taking him.

Difficult class but worth every ounce of effort. I transfered to a 4yr university and his class gave me the edge I needed for my pre law classes.

Lively teacher, definitely for students who want to be mentally active in class. Very interactive, perhaps the most of any philosophy teacher on campus. NOT for those who like to follow along with the textbook. He knows his class well, but doesn't limit himself to the book. Tests are fair if you are actively listening, take notes, and participate.

I love this guy. His class was really fun and I found him very charming. His lectures could get a little convoluted, but they were always fascinating and I really enjoyed them. Make sure to take good notes and ask questions in class if you're confused! We didn't use the book at all outside of an assigned reading in the first week.

Take this class!! The teacher can be a little boring at times, but you will learn, and you will pass. 3 Tests and 2 Essays. Grades VERY easy. Make sure to bring your laptop because you will get bored, but it's better than failing a class! Don't waste your money on the book, I never used it!

Excellent professor!! His lectures are focused but lively. His classroom style is engaging and he seems very intuitive about leading discussions that sometimes tread into debates much like those we read about for the class. Great option for your Humanities requirement. Take him!! Highly recommend!!

Taking clear and concise notes in this class was next to impossible. He doesn't use the book and rambles on so much about irrelevent things that it leaves you guessing what's on the tests. There are no test reviews and very little slides to go off of. It's easy to do well on papers, but good luck having decent enough notes to do well on a test.

He rambles, speaks way over my head, and nothing about taking notes in his class is easy. Do well on the essays and read the book and you'll pass. I got a B and still know nothing about philosophy. Very difficult teacher. Nice guy, but very confusing.

He really knows a lot about philosophy, but he just rambles on about random nonsense. He works off a pwpt that just has key terms. Tests are worded easily, but they can be tricky. Lectures are straight from the book. If he didn't take roll, I would have never gone to class. I do not recommend, unless you're a phil major.

Professor Morgan is a great teacher there is no reason why you shouldn't pass he gives you an opportunity to write a Philosophical Critique on a movie if you revcieve an F or D on an exam and gives you a 70 for the exam a passing grade.2 papers are assigned which he is very lenient on grading there's no reason why you shouldn't pass with a C

He loves to ramble and doesn't offer any materials to study for his tests. He does not adhere to his own syllabus and he is often confusing..I have seen students in class falling asleep and now that we are almost done with the spring semester, more and more students are deciding to skip his class instead which I do not blame them.

He's a nice guy, but it's really hard to take notes, because the discussion is everywhere! 3 exams, and 2 papers. The tests are hard, but the papers are fairly easy! START SOONER, THAN LATER ON THE PAPERS! He doesn't talk much about the papers, so look to the syllabus to stay on track. Book is not necessary, but it's not a bad investment.

He's a good teacher but doesn't tell you what he is looking for it his two papers. The best part is on the test, there are essay question that he will give you a head of time to prepare your answers. Quite, very nice guy.

Dr. Morgan is by far the best teacher I've had this far. Many will say that he is not clear cut, but he is a philosophy teacher and expects students to explore things beyond his lectures. He is passionate and funny, but above all he is a brilliant man and should be respected. If you question his intelligence, prepare to be schooled.

Mr. Morgan is a stick to the syllabus kind of guy who offers extra credit. With 5 total grades there is really no room for failure. Gets off topic easily and can spend 5 days on one slide note going off on a different tangent each day which has nothing to do with the material we are learning. Hard Prof, but worth it if you put in the time

I took him for world religions and I really enjoyed this class. Tests are straightforward and easy if you study and understand main concepts on the powerpoints. Dr. Morgan listens to all of his students opinions and will entertain whatever questions you ask him. The classroom was open for discussion and friendly debate which made it fun

Professor Morgan is a nice & funny guy, but he's a little scatter brained. He gets off topic in class occasionally and can spend days at a time on one power point slide. He only has five grades, 3 tests and 2 essays. I've made high A's on the essays but low B's on the tests, he does offer extra credit though. Go to class he has good lectures!

This class is EXTREMELY lecture based. He does add vague PowerPoints on BlackBoard but they aren't very helpful. In my class he had 2 essays (he graded them pretty nicely) and 3 tests (without study guide and including final exam) you need to listen and take good notes. I wouldn't recommend if you don't follow lectures or take notes well.

Prof. Morgan is a good instructor. If you do not process the way of philosophers, this class is confusing and can be difficult. Be prepared to study for quizzes and put thought and research in the papers. As there are only 3 exams and 2 papers that can either help or really screw up your grade. I would also advise not to take it as an 8AM class..

Very fun and interesting class. the lectures in specific where funny and energetic thanks to his excellent speaking. Books are required but i didn't see them get much use except the rare in class reading, but even then they were only used for about 5 min.

Dr. Morgan's class is nothing but lectures but he can get pretty theatrical and he's funny. He's a really nice guy and you can see he has a passion for Philosophy. I'd highly recommend him as long as you can take really good notes and don't mind lectures. He only gives 2 papers and 3 tests (including the final) all semester.

Long lectures and some tend to be very boring. He tends to harp on the things he enjoys and finds interesting. We spent majority of our semester talking about one philosopher and spent only a few weeks on many others. Few grades so make sure you do well on the tests.

Three exams all semester and tests have only 20 multiple choice and two essay questions on each test. You have exploration essay to do over a philospher and a self examination essay to turn in. HEAVY ESSAY IN CLASS AND ON TESTS. Make sure you are good at writing test essays. GOOD LUCK

Dr. Morgan is awesome! Two essays and three exams. No review for exams but show up and take good notes and study his powerpoints and you'll be fine. He gives great lectures that are interesting. He has a sense of humor and I'd take his class again! Show up take good notes and let your notes be your study guide and you'll do great! Great Professor

I would never recommend this class to anybody. He is all over the place every class and likes to talk about things that are irrelevant and aren't on the test. He isn't clear on what he expects and when you ask you get an unclear answer. His lectures jump all over the place and aren't straight forward.

Morgan didn't like to actually teach. He liked to go off on tangents and leave everyone hanging for the test. His lectures don't give you the opportunity to take clear notes and I ended up doing BETTER not listening to the lectures anyways because he was just that bad of an instructor. DO NOT CHOOSE HIM. PERIOD.

It's an easy class if you actually show up and listen to what he has to say, it'll help a lot on your test to actually know the most common philosophers and their theories, and obviously doing all the assignments given are a must. Sit in the front rows, it'll help also.

I found that I got better grades by not listening to his lectures. He often goes on tangents and grades based on his own opinion. If you show up and do the assignments you will pass with a C but in my opinion its not worth the stress, there are other professors. He gives you the essay prompts prior to the exams.

I found Morgan to be awesome. Loved his lectures. Sometimes he steers off but everything he has to say is valuable. Show up, study , and pay attention , what a novel idea! Its a philosophy class not a remedial class , its requires thinking. I loved his class ! Smart guy!

He was a decent teacher, liked him enough for his lecturing skills and class structure that I chose him again next semester for a different class. Three tests, one essay and one presentation. He's super nice, understanding and gives the benefit of the doubt. Tests you do have to study for but nothing terrible and his class overall was very fun.

I took this class and made a 90 overall. His lectures are kind of boring but he likes what he does. He has 3 tests (including the final) and 2 papers (I got a 96 on both papers). He has PowerPoints that he posts before the tests but he also talks about the stuff not on the PowerPoints so attending class is very helpful if you want to do well.

Nice guy with really long lectures and he is very passionate about philosophy. Pretty generous on tests which can be eh... needs a lot of memorization. It seems like if you do good on the test but do decent-bad on the essay he will just pass you with a 70. Tough grader with essay homework, just keep it 4 pages. I recommend him. We only had like 3HW

Hes a great guy, very nice and intelligent. But he doesnt lecture at all. Questions on the tests were not mentioned in class or in his PowerPoints AT ALL. If you take him, get the book because you will be homeschooling yourself the whole way through.

The professor is very unclear about what he expects from you and he puts in grades so late you will end up getting blindsided over your grade at the last minute and then have no control over changing it. The material said or given in class is rarely on the test so you're basically screwed if you don't have the book.

RUN FOR YOUR LIFE!!! The textbook is NEVER used, though one might consider purchasing it for some sense of direction because he does NOT lecture, he RAMBLES and very little substance can be salvaged from the painful class meetings. Students should not have to read between the lines at EVERY turn. He doesnt communicate clearly AT ALL. RUN!!!!!!!!

The worst stomach pain imaginable is far more educational and enjoyable than this class!! Horrible communicator and not organized at all!! He talks about NOTHING the entire class. He is awesome. He wont drop you if you miss class. Book not needed but if miss class read the chapters his tests are on the chapters, his lectures are on the chapters. Either go to class and take notes or read the chapters and miss class. His lectures are fun and not boring.

This is not a class you can show up and pass. It's philosophy which is thinking about thinking. You have to have a brain and know how to use it. I noticed the younger students seemed to be easily distressed or annoyed about not having the answers placed in front of them to memorize. All I can say to those is welcome to the real world.

He talked way over my head during lectures. I only understood ethics due to the textbooks. If you have to give a presentation and he doesn't agree on what you are presenting, be prepared to be picked apart during it. Presentations are hard enough the way it is. Keep your essays bland and all about philosophers. Tests are fair.

He was a real life philosophy teacher but funny at the same time. He didn't play around on his tests and seemed to be a serious grader on papers,too. He'll talk to you after class hours in his office, no problem. If you need extra help he will give it. Actually study and read the book and you'll be okay.

Prof Morgan is a good guy, and hes funny, but hes so unclear about whats on tests. I HIGHLY recommend reading his PowerPoints he posts online thoroughly, thats the only way youll pass. He just rambles during lectures, but at least hes funny!

All you have to go by are the power points, the textbook is used somewhat but not worth paying for it. Then there are the lectures, you almost have to have your phone out the whole time to take pictures of the whiteboard. Rambles most of the time, and the powerpoint is only about halfway useful, nothing from the textbook, it's all prior knowledge.

(1)For half of the semester I thought I was doomed. It is true that you must pay attention to the lectures as the powerpoints are vague. He truly cares about growing your critical thinking skills. There are 4 exams and 2 papers. There is 1 extra credit assignment. What saved me is recording the lecture and reviewing later. Never used the textbook.

(2) additionally, tests are half multiple choice and half short answer (usually 2). Learn how to write and these are a breeze. I didnt even answer an essay question and still got a B for whatever I wrote. I wouldn't say he is a tough grader. Once I understood his teaching method, I turned my D to a B. Finally, EVERYTHING is outlined in the syllabus

This guy is awesome and knows what he's talking about! I took this class last year and ended it with like a 97 because his tests were literally the powerpoints. I recommend reviewing the powerpoints once a night a week or so before the test to make sure you know each slide. For the essays, you will need to prepare! You'll do fine as long as you try

I've been doing philosophy for around 8 years, and I was vice-president of my high school's philosophy club. This teacher doesn't know anything. None of his meta-physical arguments were valid or sound. He performed the straw-man fallacy, gish-galop, false equivalency fallacy, etc. He outright insulted me in class. Avoid his class like the plague.

the grade was based off of 5 assignments which makes its incredibly difficult to stay afloat in this class. The test material was not made clear by the professor even though the 3 exams are basically 100% of your grade in the class

This professor would almost be bearable if it wasn't for his sporadic outbursts and fits of yelling that he has while reading notes from the lecture slides. The class is solely graded on 3 tests and two papers. The test questions are derived from the slides, but the short essay questions seem to be random and not taught in depth in the classroom.

He is always off task and hardly ever makes any sense. He is unresonable and seems to teach for the money and not his students. You have to dig questions out of him and even then his instrustions are not good. If you enjoy philosophy and want to learn do not take his class. If you want an easy A, definitely not the class to take! AVIOD HIS CLASS!!

He is not a good teacher. His classed is based on 6 assignments. If you do bad on one test you will not get a good grade. The whole semester of class I did not know what he was talking about. Test questions very random, so you must pay attention to what he says. If you want an A do not take this class. There are essays on the test, grades hard

Don't take this class. He was extremely difficult to deal with. He always gets off topic and although he gives powerpoint reviews for exams, they're typically nothing like the exam. There are only 6 assignments given in his class so if you do bad on one it completely ruins your grade. It's practically impossible to get an A. Avoid him.

I see a lot of negative reviews on this professor, and I can see where they come from. Here's how I view the class. If you are good at putting your thoughts into writing and somewhat into philosophy, its an easy A. If you aren't good at writing and philosophy then I cant recommend him or any philosophy class.

Watch his lectures take good notes, ask questions and he responds very quickly to emails! I would take this class again. He really cares about his students and his lectures will make you laugh at times. Explains subject so you will understand. I had never taken Philosophy before at all so that was challenging and learned so much from Mr. Morgan

Terrible if you can't sit and listen to some talk and talk and talk. No feedback on essays which leaves you left in the dark about improvement. Only 2 essays and 3 tests so very easy to fail. Good for does who are auditory learners

I didn't learn much in this class, but discussions were interesting and the stories he told were funny. There are 2 essays and 3 exams, plus weekly discussion boards that posed a philosophical question to answer. It wasn't a hard class and he's pretty laid back, but incredibly hard to reach outside of class. Don't expect any feedback on essays.

He is very nice, this subject is boring. He is funny at times, BUT if you have a hard time sitting still or have a hard time learning auditorychoosewisely The presentation is basically what he says so he reads off of them no daily homework. There is very few assignments so make sure you do them. If you miss one you there's a high chance of failing.

Great professor, which I had to replace a grade from a bad professor and this was night and day. He will spur thought, and really make you think about your own positions. This is a hallmark of the best philosophy classes, and I learned a lot personally. You will have to work for your grade and learn something but that's the whole point of college.

I found the lectures really interesting! Only 5 assignments (3 exams + 2 papers) plus weekly discussion boards. Doesn't really remind class so keep track on syllaus since they're weighed more heavily. In class participation encouraged but not graded, be sure to take good notes since assignments are open book! Would definitely take again!

Professor Morgan is a really great, sweet, caring professor.There are very few assignments so one bad grade can ruin your entire score for the class, but if you can sit still, pay attention, and take good notes, you should do fine.

For the class you write two lengthy-ish papers, take a few open-note online tests, and contribute to the weekly discussion board about whatever the ethics question. He is a really nice guy but the subject matter is just so boring to me.

Professor Morgan is an excellent lecturer and detailed note taking is a requirement to clearly understand his lectures. Grading is harsh but the assignments are specific to allow you to understand exactly what is needed to be done to get a good grade. I found professor Bryan Morgans class to be very well done and would recommend the class.

The sweetest professor I have yet to take! He was very thoughtful and although I wasn't the hugest fan of philosophy, his in class discussions were interesting to hear. There were probably 5 total grades + discussion boards so definitely keep up with them and you should pass easily. I loved coming to his class.

Not a bad professor, only a few assignments though. 2 test, 2 papers, and 1 final. Papers are pretty easy and the test are online with 25 questions and you can simply look them up online. Lectures are pretty boring but I just sat in class and watched youtube videos. If you're looking for a chill elective class this is the one.

Easy A, but the class is a drag overall. Boring lectures, but attendance isn't mandatory. 2 tests, 2 papers(4 pages each), 1 final. Tests are vague, but they are multiple choice, and you can use the internet or notes.

Pretty easy, just follow the rubrics and don't forget the discussion boards. I personally didn't like this professor because he mocks literally every single religion you learn about except Judaism and Christianity. If you want a good, objective overview of world religions, this is not your guy.

Good professor, just that some classes only got through 3 slides in total & talks the rest of the time. What you write from PP is usually not on the test, but what he says is so you must listen the whole time even though IMO it's so boring. No EC, only 6 grades total: 2 long papers, 3 exams, discussion boards. Every assign. & test is online though.

Professor Morgan brings a fun, engaging approach to PHIL1301. While the subject matter can be dry, his dry humor and cat pics keep it interesting. The workload is manageable - just stay on top of the few assignments. Unstuck AI was a lifesaver for reviewing the open-note tests.

Professor Morgan is a sweet dude, truly. But the way he goes about teaching this class is very vague and esoteric. The few assignments that you do though, hardly have any instructions or help as to how to go about completing them. Everything regarding this class is just very confusing as the way Proff Morgan teaches can hardly be called that.

Not a bad professor!Two full four-page essays, three tests with multiple choice and two essay questions that he gives you (except for the final, which has an extra credit essay -this saved my life ). Use Quizlet to review and TAKE NOTES. That's all. The class gave me a little anxiety, but it's really not bad. PUT THE WORK in and you'll be rewarded.

I took his class up to the first exam and I can tell you nothing that I learned or even understood. He has a tendency to speak slow and then randomly speak loudly. The only plus side to this class is that attendance isn't mandatory and all lectures were online. However, the slideshow lectures only have a few words, and you have to raw dog the rest.

Dropped the class after the first exam. I did not pay attention or learn anything since the first day of class. He rambles on about anything and everything. The lecture slides have maybe 3-5 words on them and you have to do everything yourself. I cried even thinking about class.

Professor Morgan is a cool guy and has a great personality. However his class is boring, during the course you take three test that are difficult so I would recommend taking notes. You will also have to write two five page essays. Overall like me and many other students we took the class for credits so dont expect this to be a exciting class.

This class was NOT boring. I learned a lot despite struggling with attendance. Helpful because lecture videos are posted online in case you accidentally missed class. Very passionate and intuitive and inspiring. Great lectures hold attention and he's very knowledgeable about philosophy. Very sweet guy I really enjoyed his class.
