Definitely a fun course! His first time teaching it, but he does a great job. The material's really easy. Exams are fair, and cover mostly what we went over in class, not much out of the text. Definitely take him if it's offered again.

Tests are all M/C didn't have any assignments, exams are tough, sometimes hard to hear in class cause he speaks really, and fast. KNows alot on the topic.

Worst teacher!!! Don't take him if u want a good mark. Very unclear and very unhelpful when u go to him for extra help. Unapproachable...wears the same shirt & pants every class. Hard marker. Last test is completely different from the midterm. Rude aswell. Don't recommend him

Very interesting person to listen to. He uses his own examples during class from real experience he has gone through in working in Corrections. Great class and, as long as you study and pay attention in class, you'll do fine. I'll take more if I can.

This guy doesn't know how to teach a class, yes I admit he is extremely knowledgable about the subject but as far lecturing goes, this prof couldn't be more dull. His pages of endless notes seem pointless when the exam questions are taken directly from the study guide.I don't recommend him.

Well, his midterm was exactly what I prepared for which was good. However the final exam was all on the last lecture and it was the hardest material that nobody understood. It was brutal and I thought i prepared a lot. So you can't be prepared for this class at all. He knows his stuff tho, but drones on too.

He looks like he would have been a partier back in the day,so his appearance is deceiving if you would judge by the stereotype because he is very intelligent. He has very structured classes and is a down to earth guy.He isnt the easiest marker though. He was for Psych 101 but not for 202 it seems.He doesnt give the class opportunity to speak often

He knows what he's doing but his lectures are kind of boring. With all the notes you take, the textbook almost seems unnecessary, and don't buy the study guide because you won't need it! Midterm was hard and some of it didn't seem like it was covered in class. Overall I just couldn't get interested.

Super hard tests for 202. psyc 101 with him was a breeze but 202 is hard. TALKS ABOUT HIS CAT WAY TOO MUCH!!! I was relieved to find out that yes, he does have a wife and children (instead of being a crazy cat man!)

Bryan may know his stuff, but the class was boring. Hard to stay awake during endless powerpoint slides and note-taking. He had some neat stories, but he repeats them like he completely forgot what he said last class... Exams are all multiple choice and computer-generated. Use the textbook and study guide and you'll be fine.

Very much enjoyed this class. Interesting stories that pertained to topic. Good with breaks and easy to take notes, dont have to write down as he talks can just follow overhead. Do recomend using computer to take notes otherwise your hand will cramp. Tests easy. Would like to take more classes with him.

He does cover most of the material necessary but if you need extra help or ANYTHING outside of class, he is horrible with contact. never checks his email and has no office to leave a message. first years, stay away!

The worst professor I have ever had. Keep away from his classes. Too much writing and there isn't enough time to write before he moves onto something else. You can't listen to him speak because your to busy writing. It is literally impossible to contact him, sent him an email about a month ago and still no reply and now I don't expect one.

extremely boring! he just has a slide show that he goes through every single class then a multiple choice exam after a few chapters. if you are in first year stay away from him unless you want to be put to sleep every class.

Oh my goodness... I will never take a class with Bryan again. He speaks completely in monotone and goes off on tangents that have nothing to do with the material. He is not very clear on assignment requirements nor on what to focus on for exams. Stay clear from him.

uuggghhh...is exactly how I feel whenever I hear him speak. I have stopped going to class because there is no point. All he does is read from his PowerPoint,no movies-youtube clips or anything, and the PowerPoint is emailed to us!

Bryan is a super nice guy, but very boring. He reads powerpoint every single class, and there isn't any class interaction at all! Many people don't even attend class. But if you just study the text, you can ace the tests. The tests are fine, as long as you study hard.

BOOOOORING class and his monotone voice will put you to sleep, BUT - he teaches what you need to know and leaves out all the filler crap. I'd take another class with him, but make sure I bring a lot of coffee and maybe my ipod! :p

Well, as a teacher? Very boring and not very helpful. But, his class is simple: READ the textbook! In class he just reads his ppts and talks at 15wpm. Not to mention his exams covered some of the text NOT discussed in class. But overall, Id give him a B+ as a teacher?

Very boring and monotone, bit hard to listen to but marks easy, not much work, just midterm and final exam and one small assignment. Though classes were a bit boring, he was very clear and thorough. Most of the exams were from the textbook - just a small amount from powerpoints

I enjoyed his classes, he was very straight forward and only gives out one assignment. I found him interesting in class, he has many stories that he shares and lots of experience. I am looking forward on having him as a prof for psych 102!

Great professor. Really breaks things down so anybody can understand. Attendance is important as his exams are pretty much based on his lectures. He is a fair marker and seems to care about the success of his students.

It's easy to do well in this class as long as you attend the lectures and spend a few hours studying the text in preparation of each test. Doesn't offer much out-of-class help but you shouldn't need it if you're attending the lectures: all the information is straight from the text, simplified into slides, which he then explains in greater depth.

LOVED HIM! A little monotone, but very straight forward. Reads off of slides, but only tests whats on the slides. Gives lots of breaks so you don't get bored. Tells hilarious stories to relate to the lecture. I took the class with Candace Taylor and failed, so I redid it with Brian and got a B-. I would definitely take a class with him again.

Super cool guy. I'm really glad to be in class with him. My last prof turned me off of Psyc, Bryan brought me back. Super helpful, super nice. Funny as hell. Easy to follow. Elaborates on power points. Tests are multiple choice. Highly recommend.

He is much nicer than other instructors.He is willing to help you anytime. If you failed on midterm for reasons, he would take that as a consideration when he gives final grade on this course.

Awesome teacher!!!! I loved his class mainly because of all his personal stories that he incorporated during lectures. He was extremely fair and only tested us on things that were covered in the lecture. Would definitely take another one of his class!

Had a lot of fun in this class, listening to him talk during breaks was always hilarious! Group discussions were a lot of fun, and he was easy to joke around with! Overall enjoyable teacher!

Great prof, with a great deal of knowledge. Posts lecture notes to myufv page. He speaks in a revolving tone can be tough to listen to for 3 hours. But he usually gives two breaks, so that helps. My only critique of his class is that no review whatsoever for exams. Exams include stuff that isn't in the chapter or never discussed in class.

Bryan is a very knowledgeable prof! Knows what he's talking about. He seems really laid back, and his tests are relatively fair as long as you study. No final paper. The only criticism is that he has a very mono-tone voice, so its easy to get bored. Nonetheless, a good prof! Would take a class with him again!

Bryan's class was entertaining. All lecture notes are available online and correspond with textbook chapters so studying is a breeze. His lectures are pretty basic, but he makes them interesting with examples from his own experience in the field. There is very little work besides tests and he is a fair marker. I would recommend taking his class.

Bryan basically reads off the power points that he has, but he has very interesting stories about his time working with criminals. I attended all of the classes but I'm not sure that it is essential as he posts the slides online. There were three exams, non cumulative, and a journal entry for every class worth 10% total. Straightforward guy.

Bryan is an amazing prof. He uses power point notes every class and explains them well. Just use the notes and read the textbook to study. m.c midterms with a few short answers, doesn't like cellphone use during lectures, really funny and willingly to help! Interesting class, would take him as a prof again.

Bryan knows psychology very well but he is very mono-tone . I did not find copying down the power points which he reads word for word as a good way of learning. His teaching method was not easy for me.

Knew a lot about what he was teaching based on his own personal research experience. Class consists of sitting there flipping through powerpoint slides which can get boring; he has interesting material but isn't always the most lively in his teaching. Good feedback, fairly easy exams and some easy assignments.

Bryan is a nice guy, but his teaching does not mesh well with a lot of students. Slides are all online and every lecture is a direct reading of those slides. Tests are hard. Textbook needs to be read. Overall, this was my least favorite class this past semester. Good luck to anyone taking this class in the future, you'll need it.

Bryan was a very average professor. The lectures are not overly interesting or boring, he just has easy-to-take-notes-from slides which you do the whole session, which I don't particularly mind. If you study A LOT and use the textbook and all of your in-class notes, you will do decent to well on his tests. Gotta work for it though for sure!

Bryan read directly from the slides without bringing much of his own personality to the class. Class interaction was minimal at best and he seemed in a hurry to be elsewhere. I could have read the slides on my own and saved myself the trouble.

He is not a good prof for first year students. I struggled in his class and when I asked for help he said no because he already explained it in class. Worst class I have ever taken. I got a P in his class.... I only get A's and B's. Save yourself the stress and take a diff prof :/ I am now retaking the course and doing wonderfully with another prof

Very knowledgeable about content. Gives a chance for students to write each sentence that's on the slide, he doesn't rush things. Only thing is that he doesn't really clarify what he wants on tests. So it can be hard to prepare yourself. He is a hard marker on the short answer Over all he is a good professor.

Brian's an amazing teacher. He has a great sense of humor, too. If something doesn't make any sense to you, ask him. He'll respond with kindness. A very professional professor and his classes are worth attending. He is excellent at explaining psychology and if you are going to take it, take Bryan's class. I strongly recommend this prof.

He's a good lecturer and throws in a lot of humour, though much is subtle and some reflects his age cohort, so not everyone (younger students) will get it. Makes an effort to get students involved. Assesses you on tests, written paper, participation, so more rounded. I'd take him again.

Bryan is funny, makes lectures interesting. No papers- just an informal journal based on what was taught that day (he doesnt even read them, easy 10%), graded on 2 midterms and a final. I found some questions on exams to be a little vague where a few answers could be the right one. All in all, solid class

Boring.... All he does is read off the power point provided by the text book company. Bases mark off of tests only but gives no insight on actives or exercises that will help students learning outcomes. He literally just sits there talks mono-tone and reads of the slides for 3 hours... you're better off reading the text on your own time.

He has very interesting stories and is a laid back, funny guy. His tests are a bit hard but they're always either MC or short answer. You don't use the textbook in class but it's recommended to read (I've barely read it, and due to his powerpoints I'm getting above a B) so it's more of a personal choice. Overall good teacher and would take again.

He just reads the PowerPoint slides. little in-depth explanations about topics covered in class. No guideline on what to study on the exams except for the hundreds of slides given to you. For a 100 level course it is very difficult and I advise you find another professor unless you want to teach the course material to yourself.

Good prof. Has lots of funny stories, interacts with class, very open to questions. All of the information he gives in lectures is on the powerpoint slides he posts to blackboard, so if you miss a lecture it isn't a big deal, though it's worth going. Rather hard marker, so make sure you get all of the details. Often just multiple choice tests!

Talks like a real surfer, (which he is!). Basically reads a powerpoint to you, if you know the textbook chapters you'll be fine. All based off midterms and exam, only multiple choice and 5 short answers. Make sure in the short answers you give lots of examples.

Many here are saying he's boring when the exact opposite is true. He's an experienced guy, very knowledgeable and includes little snippets outside his field or vague references to incredibly interesting material. He's not boring. He does talk really slow,but this allows you to absorb the material. Not a hard class, geared towards HS kids.

Bryan posts his powerpoint lectures online so it isn't necessary to come to class because he mostly reads off the slide. If you don't read the textbook you won't do well on the exams because there is a lot of material covered for an introductory class. Overall he's a nice guy but I feel I would have done better with more engaging lectures.

I really enjoy taking Bryan's classes. For 101/102 yes things were pretty boring and he could be more engaging but I love his stories. For 383 (drugs) you can tell it is his area. He does read off slides but offers extra info and was very helpful for the exam. Great guy and has some great insights into the area.

Bryan covered the CYC stats class this semester. Lectures are short and just copied from textbook. Did not seem to understand that us students are not math students. Assignments are time consuming. Near end of semester he was more forgiving and spent more time explaining the subject. Overall really challenging class.

Bryan is a really sweet guy. He genuinely cares about his student's and their success. He always makes time outside of class to help students with specific questions. Bryan does definitely expect students to put in the work to succeed. If you don't put in the time to study the material, his tests will be very tough to pass.

I was in Bryans class and as an intro class it was all based on powerpoint slides. Talks in monotone voice and you will fall asleep. We had a mc test but it wasn't easy, he made it difficult. Do not take if you're looking to be engaged in a class. Overall okay prof but there are much better ones.

very relaxed guy, lectures are pretty dry but theyre easy to follow along with and definitely makes stats easy and passable. All the exams are multiple choice and there are easy assignments to do for an extra 20%, if math isnt your strong suit i definitely recommend taking his class

Let's start by saying lower level stats ruined my life and I had to take it twice. So, I was more than terrified beginning upper level stats. Bryan absolutely changed that within the first week. Awesome lectures that usually don't take more than an hour, genuine guy always willing to help, and clear expectations. I was stoked on this course.

Bryan's psych 101 and 102 class were easy. He just read off of a PowerPoint in class, but it was also posted online so you didn't really have to go to class. The midterms were based off of the PowerPoints, and there were no surprises. Class is boring and lecture heavy, but he always ends early.

Bryan usually just reads off the powerpoints which isn't that helpful for a stats/psych class, but he really is accessible outside of class time. He even organizes time for students to come get an extra help session before exams, but like I said he doesn't really explain anything. An okay teacher, but wouldn't recommend if you struggle at math.

I do not like his style of teaching. He is a great person but not a good teacher. He does not want to know any of his students, not even our names. All he does for 2 and a half hours is read off the powerpoint which is already on Blackboard so you never have to show up for class, only for the midterm. He does not involve the class at all!!!!

took his psych class. Grade determines on midterm and the final. He just reads off the slides so showing up is not mandatory and is not required, he just talks the whole class no group assignments or anything so if your into lectures I would recommend him.

Bryan is very knowledgable in his field, but he does not know how to teach. He just reads off the slides the whole time and doesn't explain a thing, which makes everything confusing. If you take Bryan, get the textbook and teach yourself; you'll be better off that way than attending the lectures. Memorize everything for his exams.

Like many others have stated, Bryan is knowledgeable, but he can't teach the material in a way for students to understand. He used lecture slides from a textbook disc - some of the time he didn't even know what they meant (and neither did we!). Very particular about using his examples on the exam - can't make up your own. TLDR, don't recommend.

Bryan's lectures were so boring and so long. He didn't know how to teach and our whole grade was basically based off our midterms and final. DO NOT TAKE HIM UNLESS YOU WANT YOUR GPA TO DROP!

I didnt find Bryans class that difficult. Make sure you have detailed short answers on your mid-terms and final with good examples. Also, make sure you do your research credits and learning assignment, thats a free 14%! Lectures can be boring just make sure you copy everything down. Still dont know how I got an A+

Lectures are so boring, and he just reads off his power points. You're better off not attending class and teaching yourself. Grade is heavy dependent on how you do on your exam. Its unclear what he expects for answers on the exam for the written, I swear I wrote exactly what's on his notes and he still marked terribly. Good luck, and study lots.

Bryan's lectures were very dry, like sahara desert dry. His exams are fairly easy with a majority of the questions being multiple choice, but you are better off reading the chapters in the textbook to prepare than reading and attending his lectures.

Basically a course that you teach yourself. He reads directly off his slides, so it is better to just read the chapters out of the textbook rather than watch his lectures. Your grade soul depends on you exams, which are mostly multiple choice. Also, he grades extremely hard on his short answers.

Bryan is an amazing professor! Really enjoyed taking psychology with him. I found his lectures insightful and loved when he talked about his past jobs in forensics. I never used the textbook to study. His powerpoint notes give u more than enough info for exams. Make sure you study and you will do fine. Easy tests if you study for them!

Course is poorly designed, there's barely anything to keep you engaged unless a test's coming up. There's some study participation and one assignment at the end of the course, that's it. That said, he's a great guy. Lectures are kinda funny and very interesting, if long at times. Don't like the course, but he does the best he can with what he has.

I personally found the textbook necessary in order to do well. if you struggle with test heavy classes stay away. lectures are quite long. that being said, Bryan is a kind man and if you are struggling with any concepts, he will walk you through until you understand. Also don't miss lectures! it's much more difficult to do well if you don't show up

Took him in 2021 when covid got bad again. Very lecture heavy. Has slides up for the class and he sits in front of us and reads the slides/talks the whole time. smart, knows what he's talking about but it gets boring. have to take notes from slides to succeed or just study his slides. nice prof tho

I honestly liked Bryan. I do find his voice to sound exactly like Joe from family guy. His tests may be a little harder compared to other psyc profs with a written component, but he gives hints to what the written question will be! I also found that the textbook helped me a lot

Bryan does a good job at having engaging lectures despite using little expression and going for 2.5 hours at a time. There is a lot of dependancy on the midterms and the final but there is also almost no homework.

The lectures are long and not engaging. I had to learn the whole course myself via textbook. Grade is based on how you do on your exams. The exams are easy *only* if you study for them. The short answer portion is extremely hard at times because the prof is a hard marker. Bryan is knowledgable and kind but it's a hard class overall.

bryan made this class very straightforward as there was only one small assignment and 2 midterms + a final. his lectures got kind of boring but if you attended them, he would drop hints or directly tell you what is going to be on the exams! the exams were pretty fair and mainly stuff from his lecture slides!

I found I did well if I read the textbook and memorized his slides. He drops hints for short answers. Only take this class if you know how to study because your grade is essentially just 3 noncumulative tests. The lectures were interesting, although a bit long sometimes. He made the final easy which was nice.

Bryan was an okay prof. Took psych 101 with him and all it was was lectures and 2 midterms + final and a small assignment. He only went over the assignment once and did it quickly without much detail. His lectures were fairly interesting but felt really long. He was okay but wouldn't take again.

Be ready for the hardest tests, he is monotone not very enthusiastic which makes It hard to stay entertained. Graded on mostly tests and many things on the test don't correspond to the lectures. Very nice man just hard to learn from.

I like Bryan as a person. Furthermore, classes are a different story. He reads word for word on a power point for 3 hours straight and occasionally shares work stories.Monotone, boring, nothing engaging. Not personable or helpful. Tests are extensive. Bryan is a really nice guy and had good stories to share on different topics. He would do lectures for the whole class and then there would be a midterm after we finished a chapter or two. There are 3 noncumlative tests that make up your whole grade. Tests are quite difficult and sometimes would include information we did not go over in class

Bryan's midterms are non cumulative which is great and they're a lot easier than some other people on here have said. His questions are typically very straightforward as long as you've thoroughly read the chapter and paid attention to when he gave hints in the lecture. Lectures can sometimes be long and boring.

He is just too boring. I know he tries to help by making videos but he puts me to sleep. I have to read the book on my own so it is like I am teaching myself. I would just not take him again. He is open to questions, but that is all.

He's extremely monotoned during his lectures however he talks about himself like any other prof. He seems like a great person but his classes are extremely boring/his slides are all basically grey. boring class but none of his exams are cumulative and he posts the slides. Dont take this class if you dont know how to properly study on your own.

Very nice guy, knowledgeable, shares interesting work experience, and will help you with anything if you ask. He gives hints in lectures on what will be on the exam, which always ends up being a written question. written questions on tests are marked hard, so you need to put a lot of detail in.

Bryan was amazing with answering questions as best he could and was always approachable. I found his tests to be quite challenging, but if you attend class he does just read the slides basically but he will also tell you short answer questions. You do have to read the book.

Took this class to learn about psychology in person but he reads mostly off his slides with a few of his personal stories. He uploads all his slides to blackboard. Nice guy but it would be easier and cheaper to buy the textbook and challenge the course at UFV than to sit through his lectures. Also no study guides for exams, about 100 pages per exam

About 100 textbook pages to read per exam, he does give hints in his lectures on a couple things that might be on the exams, for example 1 of 4 short answer questions and 1-2 multiple choice questions out of 50. Short answers are marked insanely hard, and it's hard to tell what his short answer will be.

Professor Nadeau's PSYC101 class is challenging but manageable if you stay engaged. Lectures can be monotonous, but attending is key as he provides helpful exam hints. The textbook and unstuck ai prove invaluable for study prep. Overall, a fair grading structure.

I really enjoyed the class. Lectures are long, but he does give breaks which is very nice. If you ask questions and make flashcards you will succeed. It's important to be in class to know what the long answer questions will be. Tests are multiple choice with 3-5 long answer questions. There is only one written assignment, a journal reflection.

there are no assignments in this class so all of your grade comes from the 3 midterms. the exams are not commulative so that's nice. The lectures are quite long and can get boring towards the end as he reads off a powerpoint. If you have to take psych 101, run fast from this professor. The lectures are unnecessarily long and dragged out. He often rambles about his life and personal experiences, not relating to the course. He does give some hints on what's will be on the exam. Keep an eye out for the research experience as he does not give notice when it closes.

He was a great prof, although you do have to read the textbook in order to understand the content and some of the multiple choice questions on the exam are from the textbook. He also gives hints of what written questions might be on the exam. Also your mark is not just from the exams, it's also from some assignments, which help a lot!
