He really liked unique papers. He wanted well crafted papers, but he was also open to experimentation and an interesting voice (not just robotic 'businessy' essays.) He really hates 'fluff' and bs`d essays, so you have to actually try. He gives a lot of feedback and spends a lot of class time just helping you with your draft.
He was very helpful if you ever needed a question or an opinion or help on anything. It is very easy to get a good grade in his class if you finish the essays and other work.
One of the best English professors at Nova. He's fantastic. He's passionate about his subject and really cares about his students. He can be tough, but he's very fair.
I was very hopeful when attending Mr. Peters class. He is passionate about his subject but when it comes down to grading he seems impossible. I would do everything that was required from a paper, and more and barely get a B. Can come off very rude and treat students rudely.
Generally, in any writing-based class, I get A's in all of my papers, probably because my writing tends to be at a higher level than the majority of students. Professor Peters grades papers on their own merit, not compared to the majority, with the perspective of a professional writer. I'm learning to improve my writing for the 1st time in a class!
Great professor, friendly and fun. Engages students and actually makes you think. Never a boring class, so I was eager to attend.
Do not take his online course, ENG 247. As for any online course, you are on your own, but I have yet to take such an unorganized online class. Very fast paced and unclear on when certain items are due. By looking at other comments, this teacher seems to be a good one, so if you take this class, take it at the campus, not online.
Do not take this class with this professor. He didn't grade by the requirements of the assignments or use the rubric. Have never gotten such low scores on my writing. He gives useless feedback that can't be used to get better scores. I've taken other 200-level English classes & never gotten lower than an A. I have a feeling I'm getting a C.
AWESOME! SO HELPFUL! Really cool guy, keeps it real! I Learned SO MUCH! I don't watch films very often and I was able to learn a lot. Realistic expectations of the class. Do the readings. Helped me out with everything I had trouble with, let me make a presentation about something that interested me. Put in the effort and you will certainly succeed!
I was nervous about doing poorly or that it would be difficult because I felt unconfident in my writing skills. My writing improved a ton. Prof & book helped me lots. Book is relevant & concise, not many pages to read per week. Prof wants you to succeed! Gives really useful feedback on papers & is clear about expectations. Recommend hands down!
Professor Peters is one of those professors you will remember. He cares about his students and pushes each of them to better themselves. I can honestly say that his instruction has made be better. The class was fun, interesting, and rewarding. I have recommended his classes to my own daughter and have no problem recommending him here as well.
Great professor! Tough, but fair. Through this class, I improved my critical thinking and my writing. Prof Peters pushes you to do your best work. He is quirky and engaging. He also cares and is passionate about what he teaches!
Professor Peters made me see composition in a whole new way! He really knows his stuff and is passionate about his subject. Best advice, be on time and be prepared!! This is not an easy A class!! Listen to what he has to say, utilize his expertise while working in class, participate in discussion, and PUT FORTH EFFORT and an A is entirely possible
I've had a number of great professors at NOVA, but Bryan Peters cares more about his students and the subject than almost every other professor there. As long as you put the work in and actually care about the class you will receive a high grade.
Mr. Peters is one of the best professor I've ever had at Nova. He's very knowledgeable on his subject and engages the students in class discussion. I shouldn't have received an A in the class but he allowed me to correct my mistakes and strives his students to do the best they can. I would not hesitate to take any future classes with him.
Professor Peters may not be easy, but I feel as though I learned a lot. He taught me to actually care about what I write, which I did not do before. He made me want to be better at what I did. I love the fact that he encourages people to take risks rather than stay in the safety zone. I learned to experiment and it paid off in the end.
I have learned a lot about how film is influenced and adapted from literature. Also, lots of ideas and knowledge of the art of film were taught to students, Such as film contains ideology, which I barely knew about before, each scene in a movie is a deliberate choice of the film maker to convey that ideology. such an envisioning course
If you have any interest in your mental health, DO NOT TAKE HIS 8 WEEK ONLINE CLASS!! He gives you all of the work of a normal 16 week course, less two assignments. The class started with roughly 30 students and ended with 12... Do yourself a favor, find another professor
I took his 8 week class this summer. The work what was expected for an 8-week class and he is a very fair grader. He was a great teacher (as good as you can get online) and thoroughly took his time to lay out the class, our assignments and e-mails. He was also very helpful and personable. I would definitely recommend his class, even in 8 weeks.
Took the online 8 week class. Work load is what should be expected for an English class, very appropriate. If you don't procrastinate you won't have a problem-this goes for any class. Course is interesting, grading is very fair, the professor always gives feedback and responds almost right away. I would take this class and professor again!
Terrible professor do not take him if you value your time and life. I took a hybrid 111 class with him and he grades extremely hard. I did not learn anything. He assigns papers every week. I would work so hard and end up getting a B which really damaged the effort I put in the class.
Such a fabulous professor who genuinely cares about the students writing ability and development. Such a good professor that I am auditing his class in the spring.
Prof Peters is probably the best English professor at NOVA. He's crazy cool and will really help you improve your writing. He's the bomb.
DO NOT TAKE HIS eight weeks "Popular Culture" class. The amount of work in this class Katharineis crazy, you do not get feedback, and is really hard grading.
I attended his hybrid. I'd lie if I said he was easy. He is fair, honest, and committed to teaching well. He has his quirks, which I found mostly interesting. Most students didn't put any effort, hence, did bad in the class. I put in effort and got and A, AND SIGNIFICANTLY IMPROVED. I love this guy and definitely recommend him.
His class is not an easy A, but I learned so much in this class, and really appreciate his commitment to his subject. He is a direct, honest, and helpful professor who will give you back the effort you put into his class. If you want to improve as a writer, I highly recommend Professor Peters!
His class is not an easy A, but I learned so much in this class, and really appreciate his commitment to his subject. He is a direct, honest, and helpful professor who will give you back the effort you put into his class. If you want to improve as a writer, I highly recommend Professor Peters.
Took 8 week class, the reading and writing needed to be done for the class is fitting for the amount of 8 weeks. He keeps in contact through e-mail and office hours efficiently. I learned a lot from this class! I could see the great increase of how much my writing has gotten better at the end of this course. He is very nice and professional!
Mr. Peters is an awesome teacher. He makes you thoroughly think about everything you do and ensures it is a legitimate learning experience. The class is fun and if you put in the proper effort you will come out of it with your grade and having gained a significant something.
I've taken a few classes in the past, none of which were taught with as much charisma or enthusiasm as Professor Peters. This really is the one hybrid class that I wish was two days per week. I see everybody talking about difficulty, not a good teacher, etc. If you want easy, stay home, If you wish to learn proper English, hire professor Peters.
The way the weight is pulled, it is a very hard class to receive an A. This was my first english class with a B. It you're interested in Popular Culture then you will learn a lot! Most of your points are for discussion. I worked my tail off and can't believe I still got a B plus I did extra credit.
My English, especially my essay writing, has improved drastically ever since I took 210 with Professor Peters. He seems a little intimidating at first, but make no mistake, he's extremely friendly and extremely helpful. If your looking to improve your English skills, he's defiantly the professor to take!
He's by far the worst english professor I had. I took the course hybrid. It requires a lot of time !! The last paper -Research Paper- is so time consuming. He doesn't think that we have other courses and maybe other jobs as well, it's like we're doing a masters in english. Dodge the course with him if you can.
He is a caring professor. Do your reading before class because the fun part is during discussions. He doesnt tolerate disrespect and makes the environment safe so everyone is comfortable to share their opinions without fear of judgment. He's insightful and intuitive and guides the lectures around where people need the most help. Very patient too!
Replies to emails quickly & gives good feedback. Quick-witted individual who can come off arrogant, but just smart in his field. Gives long lectures, but they are inspirational & you always learn something new. Lectures are helpful and related to the topic of the day. He believes in you and expects the best you can do. Grades fairly, but tough.
He's one of the best professor's out there. People misjudge his teaching methods only because they don't want to work hard enough for it. He teaches you in a way where you have to think outside the box and will also benefit you in the long run. I definitely would recommend him to others. His sense of style, humor and personality are a bonus.
The deal with Bryan is that he gets much hatred for being a bit tough, and he is. However, if you are a person planning to transfer to a 4 year uni after CC, you won't regret taking him. He teaches with dedication, heart, and he chooses cool topics. I put in the hours, turned in my HW on time, and got an A. Take his class!
If you're lazy, don't take this course. If you actually enjoy learning then do! I liked doing the work and was also inspired to do research on my own about proper punctuation and grammar. You're not grilled on grammar or vocab but he will throw those types of things out there often because he's awesome and he wants you to know stuff.
If you are not going to read and put effort in class , this is not for you. Read assignment before class, follow the due date and direction and you will pass with good grade. Plus he was the nicest professor for English so far. He is very understanding, helpful and if you work with him , her will help you as much as he can. Show interest!
As far as professors go, Peters is one of the greats. I'm not a morning person AT ALL but I always felt up to going to his 9:30 am lectures. He's so helpful if you're motivated to actually ask. You wont do well if you don't do the reading but come on guys, this is college. Be ready to realize that you never knew how to properly read a book.
I loved this course. Prof. Peters is tough by some people's standards but he warns you of this on the first day of class. His goal is to prepare you for higher level courses and you will come out of it a much better reader and writer. If you care about your college career take this professor! Never boring, super caring, he's the total package.
This class seems to be designed to challenge writers to experiment with and expand their skill. Prof. Peters goes over several concepts in class, so attendance is crucial. If you're self-driven (or want to learn to be), this class is for you... you'll learn how to ask for help when you need it. You'll need to work hard, but it's worth it.
Prof. Peters is an amazing professor. I have never been in to English , but they way he teaches is different. Prof. Peters engages with students and is always willing to help. Pay attention to blackboard and take notes during his lectures and you will pass. Make sure to do all homework assignments and complete all essays. Truly one the best prof
Prof. Peters provides very specific and valuable feedback. He's extremely attentive to detail and is very knowledgeable about English composition. When he sees you need some advice, he's willing to go the extra mile. And it will always be a specific, no-nonsense advice!
He is a bad teacher ever. Yes, he respond your email very fast but I a rude way. His answer is so helpless. You better learn yourself.
Professor Peters is one of the most helpful professors I've encountered at NOVA. He responds to emails quickly, and gives good answers. He provides his students with detailed writing advice when requested, and is always up for office hours. Claims otherwise likely come from students who don't do the work. If you put in effort, he will too.
In this class you have to read and, read, read and then after you read you have to read some more. After the reading you should think and organize your thoughts until your thinking becomes your own and you are an intelligent thinker. Then you go to class prepared for the discussion and lecture. After your discussion in class you are able to think.
If writing matters to you, this is a class worth taking. You must be willing to put in time to read ALLOT before you can write what is expected of you. Fun class learning new writing styles, IF, you attend class. Tech based class--use your pc in class--blackboard is where all assignments go. Trendy style of teaching. His appearance is on fleek too
Don't take this class if you are not willing to put in the effort to genuinely improve your writing. My writing has grown exponentially in just one semester of this class. This is college, expect to do your work in generalbut seriously don't take this class if you are the kind of student who just doesn't care about school and wants the easy way.
Great professor! His class might seems a little daunting at first, but stick with it because it's totally worth it. His assignments are interesting, meaningful, and not just your run of the mill "read this article and write some pointless essay on a topic that doesn't matter." He knows his stuff, actually cares, and responds quickly to emails.
Tough but perfect
Let me just tell you, first day of class Prof Pete tries and scares you away BUT DONT BE FOOLED, his class is extremely doable and you not only enhance your writing but the class itself isn't as bad at all as he makes it out to be in the start. Stick with him! He knows his stuff and makes 125 a breeze. Reading is every class but its not hard at all
He really cares for his student's success! This online class leaves the student responsable for the material, but if you find yourself in need of help, you can contact him quite easily. He answers emails quickly and clearly. His assignments can be time consuming, ranging from 4-7 per week, most consisting of short essays. There are only 2 tests.
He's intimidating at first, but if you stick with the class, things will get easier. This class is far from easy though. I feel like I broke my back over the essays. He truly wants you to write better and if you're willing to put in the effort, he'll also try his best to help you. Replies to emails quickly and requires long quality essay.
Just simple, Pete is one of the coolest professor on Earth. his lectures are incredibly interesting. Don't think he's easy. You have to work and read literature every week in order to work well on midterm and final exam. Poetry, fiction, drama are hard stuff, but Pete makes it easier for his student to understand. Highly recommend him.
Professor Pete is the BEST English professor ever. He tries to scare you at the first day of class but in reality he is very helpful , smart and he knows what he is teaching. His class is soooo easy if you just work hard, take notes when he is teaching and pay attention in class. Its is a total package. MUST MUST take him!!!!!!!!!!!
There's a reason Bryan is a great professor. It's not about the projects he gives, but how he gives them. He makes you go out into the world. I mean literally out of your comfort zone to interact with groups outside the classroom. His class can be demanding, but it rewards attentiveness.
Great professor. I just finished taking him for an online class and he is terrific. He really cares about his students and pushes you to do your best. Very reasonable and understanding. Without his great instruction, I would not have been able to pass this class. Seriously consider taking his classes.
I'm not a prolific writer, so this course required a lot of effort on my part. Prof. Pete is very knowledgeable in his field, hence, also very critical with grading. All papers required will improve your skill level by the end of the course, but lots of effort is needed (not an easy A), but totally worth it.
He is an awesome teacher. He scares you at first but once you get used to it, he is amazing. Participation is graded and also the exams are not hard .attend class and take notes and u will pass. Took it in 6 weeks but I looked forward to his class. He is very knowledgeable and an easy guy. Recommend him 100 xs
Lots of reading. Frustrating, endless discussions about various pieces of literature. Take good notes. What's covered in class is on tests. Not enough time to finish tests b/c they include handwritten essays & he wants lots of detail. Relatively easy grader. Textbook definitely necessary. Final is a research paper; clear grading instructions.
unfair and arbitrary grader. Poor directions and explanations of assignments.
He's so hottttttttttttt! lol a great prof for real makes you work for the grade but accepts all kinds of opinions as long as you understand and support your answers. had so much fun in his summer 6 weeks course.
I've learned more about writing in this class than I did through all four years of high school. If you have room in your schedule, take 210. If not, make room. As to how Prof. Peters is unlike any other professor out there, well, that's for you to find out. But I will say this: his teaching just might change your life... It sure did mine.
I took this class because I had received credit for AP Lit and didn't need any english classes, with that being said I learned and gained more from his class than any other teacher I've ever had. Great teacher, wonderful person. Would recommend his class to people who really care about writing. You're definitely going to work but it's so worth it.
Professor Peters is easily one of my favorite professors ever. He is funny and intelligent, but most importantly it is clear that he has a passion for his students. He puts forth the same amount of effort into the class that he expects from them. This class is a difficult class that is a lot of work, but without a doubt you will learn a lot.
Coming into this class I really had no idea what I was getting myself into. I've had a lot of English teachers who didn't care about my actual writing but Prof. Pete really does! it's refreshing and wonderful. You really will improve in your writing and develop so many skills you otherwise would not acquire (easily, at least). 11/10 prof. Take him!
He was a good professor but he made you work. If you do not want to work do not take his class. If you want to go to William and Mary you must take his class. Would take his class again if my other classes were super easy.
The reviews are true--best professor at NOVA. This is the only class I wish I had an audio recorder for because everything we talked about was so enlightening and funny.
Great chance to learn from a great professor. You will learn to write and so much more. High expectations for the students. Entertaining lectures. Best class ever.
Class size was small which is very important a writing class. Teacher is fun, engaging, makes a real connection with the class. There are 4 papers and some discussion board assignments. He expects a lot from the papers, but that's kind of the point. Come to class ready with specific q's about papers and he is there to help. Responds to email quickl
Professor Pete is one of the few professors I've had at NOVA who is of equal caliber as those you'd find at four-year colleges. His energy is great, and the most important thing is to pay attention and take notes. Homework was not excessive or difficult, and he gave us weeks to write the papers which were due.
Professor Pete is the best English Professor I've ever had at NOVA. As long as you do the work, you'll pass. Make sure to read everything he assigns because it'll be on the exams. He is very helpful.. he can be very intimidating at first but he is so nice. HE IS SO HOT!!!
Professor Pete is awesome; he is tough but very understanding and helpful with great insight. Not to mention he's nice to look at. You use the textbook every day, you must come to class!!! He is understanding about sickness and other issues but doesn't like slackers. Tough yet reasonable grader. 2 exams and one paper for 125.
Good professor, he expects you to know what we are going to discuss based on your homework assignments, there is only 1 midterm, 1 term paper, 1 final and discussion boards. If you show up and participate and asks questions you will get a passing grade, but he definitely makes you work for it.
Pro Peters is very knowledgeable and helpful. He accepts you to show up and be prepared to learn. Lots of reading and discussion board assignment since exams and term paper are from the readings. I would definitely recommend him for English 125 course.
I learned a lot about how to write (creatively and academically) and how to read (for leisure and for school). When I transferred to a four year school, I used the skills I learned from Prof Peters more than the rest of my classes at NOVA. I really needed those skills because four year school was tough. Thanks Prof Peters; it was worth it!
if you're lazy, don't take him!!
Is great at explaining things, and he is straight forward with what he wants you to do in order to succeed his class. I did find him a bit annoying at times, but other than that he is okay. Do the reading before class and annotate because it helped me a lot to understand what is going on in the class.
He's nice and has helped me understand English in a new way. Specifically, I've learned to analyze writing better. He makes you work for your grade, but it's not too bad. He has helped me become an intellectual. Pros: Nice, informative, helpful, intellectual Cons: Tries too hard to be cool, seems beta
Initially, it was difficult for me to attend class because Professor Peters came across to me as very arrogant. Literally on the first day of class he told us we know nothing about writing and that he's an excellent writer so we should just trust his judgment. As the semester continued, he chilled out and it was fine. Overall good class.
Prof Peters constantly repeats himself and holds class at a snail's pace. I didn't learn much but if you don't know *a thing* about literature/writing, you'll most definitely learn from him. He drills the material into you that's for sure. Also take notes and ask questions if you don't understand; he'll give some snark but you'll get your answer.
Professor Peters was an awesome professor who knew what he was talking about. He taught so many techniques and perspectives on writing that really allowed novice writers to broaden their horizons. He graded fairly and left good comments on the papers to advance students' craft and was also willing to help me out with papers in/out of the class.
OK, If you're looking for an easy A class, walk away right now. Seriosly. But, if you actually want to learn literature with a profesor that knows his stuff, this is the perfect class for you! You WILL learn, and you will work hard. You leave this class feeling like a mad intelectual. Disscusion boards, midterm paper, lots of readings and final.
Pete is probably one of the best professors I've ever had at NOVA. Seriously. His lectures are genuinely inspiring and he really cares about his students (trust me, he's a good guy). Just because he's an awesome professor, that doesn't mean he's easy. Yes, there is a lot of work that needs to be done, but if you work hard, you'll regret nothing. :)
Prof Peters is a wonderful professor. I really enjoyed taking his class.
Honestly I really enjoyed this online class! There was a lot of work and it made me stayed up late a few times, but I was totally fine with it because I enjoyed reading and carefully doing all the work. This class was a short week class, so it was fast paced. His work layout on blackboard is great.
Omg hes an excellent teacher!!! Took his online 8week course and he actually makes you work for it. Lots of reading and writing, but easy assignments if follow the reading, hes super nice lets me be able to pass by completing all missing assignments and oh he has extra credit opportunity so take him !! Easy A+ tho if completed everything on time
Hes an excellent teacher!! Took his 8week course online and he gives fair grading and assignments(modules) lots of reading tho! Make sure you do assignments on time! Only had midterm and final exam (easy based on hw), gives extra credit opportunity! Easy +A if completed the hw and reading! I would take him again just to get an A!! Take him!
HIs method of doing the quizzes is by far the best and most fair I've experienced. He reserves multiple classes to help and give feedback on the major assignments.
Amazing online class experience. He is very helpful and replies within a few hours. 3 major essays with multiple assignments before hand to prepare for it. Discussions every week. For midterm, you're allowed to take an outline to testing center. Quizzes can be repeated until you get 100%. Impossible to get anything below an A.
he was a really nice but tough professor in the sense where he wanted you to succeed and become better. he knew what he was talking about and basically used tough love to get through to you and become a better writer, he wanted you to participate and speak up in class. that just wasn't my style but he was nice.
Take him if you actually want to learn how to write. There are about 3-4 papers and he breaks them down each class, he lets you work on them in class and revises them for you. You will see your growth from your first paper to the last, he has a very tough love approach but its for your own good. Its important to show up to class and participate.
Hes an English fellow. He's super intimidating so I don't recommend sitting so close to him. The tests are essays. You REALLY need to speak up and answer his questions or he will become irritated and leave the class silent until someone answers.
Professor Peters is a decent professor; however, if you are taking the course online and require additional help, this class is not for you. Feedback was lacking clarity and often too late to correct errors.
took him in spring 2020 and was the worst when it turned online he made the whole class a discussion board and you just have to post a question and answer another students question so i didn't learn anything new that semester so eng 112 is really hard because i missed so many basic stuff
I took this class online. It has discussions and responses to classmate, 5 quizzes you could retake as many times as you like before the due date, some assignments that led up to 2 papers (1 midterm/1 final exam). For the midterm and final exam you have write an essay. Teacher provided little feedback but was a hard grader - follow directions!!!
Professor Peters is great! I really enjoyed coming to class each week and liked most of the assigned reading. Short quiz each week about the assigned story so you must read every week to do well on them. Most of the quizzes have bonus questions. Two papers- make sure you do exactly what the rubric says. I learned a lot and I'd take him again.
good professor but most def makes u work for ur grade. He gives good lectures and as long as u take notes you'll know what he's looking for in ur work. no exams but 3 papers worth a lot of ur grade. u HAVE to show up to class and participate. He's not mean but not exactly the nicest either, but he'll work with you. I'd take him again.
lots of reading, a short story is discussed every class. discussion boards and quizzes every week and offer extra credit sometimes. 3 papers, 2 of which are worth 25% of your grade so be careful. dont miss assignments. Hes smart and knows the topic and is nice, but sometimes gets impatient or repetitive
This class is a waste of time. There's about +30 short stories to read and they're all sad and morbid. The professor literally examines each page to give a summary on what's happening. Theres no analysis. He treats the class as a 400 lvl class regarding papers. The grade book doesn't show the real grade.
This was a very difficult class and Professor Peters was pretty rude. The first day of class he told us that none of us will probably get an A and we should leave if we're expecting an easy class. His grading is extremely tough, and he treated our intro English class like we were advanced writers. I felt like I was lucky to get a B.
good teacher but if we don't talk all the time with him he gets angry and also if you don't participate you fail the class, participation is 40 percent of the grade
Expectations are clearly written in syllabus. He treats his students as human but don't do assignments or discussions w/ no thought, it shows. Participation is emphasized AND graded however, if you speak or ask at least ONE question every class- he'll give you the full points. Grading is lenient at beginning then scales. Not an easy A, write notes!
Prof Peters is a tough grader, and he will NOT accept late work unless you reach out to him he didnt respond to my emails but he is a great teacher he will show you how to write your papers step by step which is very helpful but even he mentioned "you all will probably not get an A in this class" The work is not hard but you MUST turn it in on time
The professor does not accept late work ( fair enough) but he does not grade on time either. it took 4 , 5 weeks to see grades & the worst part is there is no feedback on it. so whatever assignment U did before the essay, you won't know if you did it right, wrong, or if you have to fix anything . You just have to do it blindly & hope u did it right
He is a great teacher and he expect you to show up in class on time and sumbit work on time. If you do that and your grade would be good. Always participate and he is very tough grader.
Professor peters is a heavy grader and requires a lot of work. Also, it is almost impossible to get an A with him
Not a lot of feedback provided, assignments will have guide of what is expected. Had about 4 essays, all required an outline and draft, outlines and drafts are easy A. Small Studio presentation about the last essay as the proctored exam. Not much communication from him.
This professor can be strange at sometimes. He is vegan and drinks from pouches. However, he is quite nice and very knowledgeable.
Taking Mr. Peters class made me a better writer; however, he was my hardest class my first semester. He makes it clear day 1 that you are likely to get a B or C. His standards were higher than my ENG 112 professor, but after going through his class, I did very well in ENG 112. He doesn't take late work so make sure to keep up.
This is an excellent professor with good English knowledge, deeply cares about writing and is a tough grader.
He's a great professor, English is not my first language but I learned a lot with him. If you planning to take classes with him be ready to be sharp and participate in his class. He doesn't like quiet people, always ask questions, he's always willing to help. If you're looking for a great professor, is definitely Bryan Peters.
Prof. Peters has high standards, but taking his class really improved my writing. The workload is tough, but using resources like Unstuckstudy, the free textbook, and attending office hours helped me succeed. He's strict but fair - just keep up with the work.
I would claim that my time with the professor was bad but that would imply any interaction including a lack of critique on my work. The Class has Weekly due dates, but he changed what was due with 0 announcement, the class had a discord, and we couldn't figure it what was due. on top of this he won't accept late work and never put in grades on time
He's a great professor. Some assignments will be graded later than you'd like them to be, but as long as you keep up with the little work and continue to try and improve in your work, you'll do great. Working on the class for maybe 2-3 hours per week should get you a satisfactory grade. His feedback can be vague, but ask him about it if necessary.
He is most def a tough professor and a harsh grader. But one thing I would say is he taught me more than I ever knew in my whole 4 years of high school. Ive never been the best writer however bc of his class I got so much better and got good grades on my essays. His class is def a recommendation if you want to improve your writing .
It was a pleasure learning ENG 111 from Professor Peters. I learned how to become a better writer from him and will be forever grateful that I did. Be prepared to do a good amount of reading and participate in class. He is very caring and is determined to make sure his students take good notes to do well in the course.
He's only hard on the students because he truly wants to see his students thrive and build a strong foundation for their future academic writing. His pace is easy to keep up with, and you could always ask for extensions since he's also understanding. One tip: read the chapters he announces and try to say something about them in class.
Professor Peters is an inspiring teacher who truly cares about his students. His paper assignments are tough but fair, pushing you to grow as a writer. He wants everyone to succeed and will support you if you're willing to put in the effort. Highly recommend his ENG 111 class!
Pete is an amazing professor, one of the best I've had the pleasure of being taught by. While he is harsh in grading, and makes that very clear, he is a caring man who wants to see you succeed, and gives you everything you need to succeed. If you are a first year student, I highly advise you take his class!
Professor Pete is wonderful!! As long as you do the reading (which is minimal), attend class, take notes, and apply those notes to what you write, you will do well!!! His lectures explained so many important things and I learned a lot from him! :D
