Easiest lab ever. Nearly minimal work. Presentation and Paper replace final exam. Only two simple quizzes and various HW assnmts. Since everything is 10% of overall grade, there's only 10 assnmts. Highly recommnded.
This lab was fun. Rourke is a funny guy who is there for his students. He is easy to talk to and tries to make the class fun. I would definitely take him again.
tests was not multiple choices. expected too much for a 1 unit course. lectures weren't clear. assignments were difficult because there's no written instructions so you had to listen very carefully. take him if you want to challenge yourself.
(this is for the lecture, not lab) His tests are inconsistent with their difficulties (averages were 50, 73, and 60%). It takes him 3 to 4 weeks to grade exams. He is rarely in his office, and never responded to my emails as to when he would be in the office. Unfortunately, he is the only one who teaches the lecture, so good luck.
(LECTURE, NOT LAB). You don't need the physiology book-- info can be found in BIOL 211 Campbell book or just pay attention to lecture (powerpoint-- pages and PAGES OF THEM!). Midterms and Final include ALL: multiple choice, true/false, fill in blank, short answers, short eassys, AND matching. Some don't finish in time, and class averages were low.
Requires a lot of detail, classes are very interesting, tests are long -- manage time!! Very helpful and approachable.
Lots of info!! Be prepared to know each powerpoint slide by heart and spit it back out on the exam. He does curve a lot towards the end. Just plan on having studying and do everything else later.
You need to study hard for the tests if you want an A. DO NOT CRAM! Tests are difficult-- they ask for every detail. Overall, lectures are very clear, and he ends up skipping a lot of material because of time.
Very clear and concise. Tests are really detailed oriented. Study early and hard. Hate true and false parts of his tests because one word can make the statement false, so you have to read over and over to make sure. All tests are on the lecture power points he provides on beachboard.
THIS PROFESSOR IS SO RIDICULOUS HARD. His exams are designed for a Ph.D level. He's never available during office hrs and doesnt like answering questions, yet for the exams, he expects you to answer his ridiculous hard T/F MC questions. He is good at explaining during lecture but there is no point to that when his exams are going to screw ur grade.
Interesting class, but you can't fall behind. Must continually study. T/F are very difficult and detailed.
Goes really fast in lecture but explains things well. You dont really need the book he puts everything in his powerpoint and they are all online. Tests are tough though. This class requires a lot of studying and you cant cram. He was very helpful in his office hours and approachable. Also responded to emails promptly. Study hard hes not easy!
this class was soo hard! not only is there a LOT of material, but he goes through it way too quickly! his tests are ridiculously detail-oriented (lots of true/false questions) so you NEED to know pretty much everything on the slides.
His lectures can be full of a lot of information and pictures and slide. Slides and power points are very important for his test. If you understand the slides and know them, you can Ace the exams. Study study before, DONT cram, its useless. Go to class, although during class he can be confusing and overwhelming, but if you want an A, go!
Advice: go to every lecture, record them, and dont get behind on understanding processes. His exams ARE hard but do-able if you pay attention to what he tells you he wants you to know for exams. He reviews for them in lecture and is helpful in office hours if you dont understand something.
His class is the worst. I have taken several science courses in the past and his teaching methods are horrible. He is a relatively new professor who is still wet behind the ears. You will learn absolutely nothing if you take his class and possibly even get insulted by him in the process!
OMG! I have been in his class since January and I still don't know a damn thing about human physiology. If there is another professor available for the section you want to take, take the other one. Run for your life people. I wish I had.
THis class was ridiculous, are you kidding me. He is still torturing students with those powerpoints and M/c t/f questions. He needs a new life.
Where did CSULB find this guy? His exams are unbelievably hard. His lectures are all over the place. I don't know wtf he's talking about half the time with all his wacked out pics and power points. I'm a chem major and I still don't get him. He's nuts.
He makes everything more difficult than it has to be. The exams are too hard to even pass. I wouldn't take him ever again.
Professor Rourke is not as bad as everyone claims. His class is not the easiest in the world but he does care about his students and tries to help them pass his course. I happen to think he is an amazing teacher and a great person. His class was both fun and interesting. I would recommend him to anyone who asks. =)
Physiology is a biological science that requires a lot of time to understand the conceptual ideas. My best advice for future students is to record Rourke's lectures because he speaks really quickly and plus most test material are covered from lecture notes. Rourke is really helpful to students that are willing to help themselves.
Compared to Khatra Rourke was awesome. This is a DIFFICULT class bc of the MARTIAL not his teaching. He puts the lec slides online so you can print them out and bring them to class which is really helpful. Everything on the test is from those notes. I went to visit him 4 times before the final and he answered all of my questions with great detail
The tests are very detailed and difficult. Make sure you fully understand the graphs, charts... well almost everything in the notes. Take note of what is important and ask him for questions. Do not procrastinate. His exams can be tricky so study hard!
This class is really interesting and fun. WAY easier than 342 so dont let him scare you in there. You have to do one presentation and the exams are all essay, but if you go to class and study the powerpoints youll get an A for sure. He is much more relaxed in this class and has always been helpful if you dont understand something.
His class is hard but he's a decent teacher. His social skills are kind of shaky. He's really an introvert and seems like he's afraid of his students. Other than that it was a cool experience.
Test questions are all from the power points. Honestly I didn't work that hard and got an A. Some people struggled but they were slacker types. Get all the easy lab points, and be able to recall power point material. This class was about half as difficult as Human Anatomy. Seems like a nice guy too.
His exams were difficult but he curves REALLY low so that everyone gets a good chance to pass. He's a nice guy, he's there to help. Just study off the power points!
I feel like this class is good preparation for med/pharm/dental school because you get a lot of information thrown at you that you just have to memorize. Prof is cool and incorporates a lot of exercise physio. Didn't always have office hours though. Curves a little, but not much.
Tests were straight forward from the powerpoints. Rourke is pretty funny and interesting. Definitely suggest taking him for 207!
He is not the most honest and professional professor. He says one thing and does another. He's rude and offensive. He ended up offending me and several other students in his class. He makes students feel super uncomfortable about coming around him or talking to him. Uggh and those power points. Don't take him ever!
Hard class. Terrible teacher. When I asked him questions he came across as immature almost like a big kid. I wouldn't recommend him.
This class was awful. The lecture was always behind the lab. He used a ton of pics and no explanations on his power points. I struggled but didn't want to ask him for help based on how badly I saw him treat his other students. He seemed shady. I didn't do well at all. Plan to take class over again with different instructor.
Poor Rourke. He was late with his power point lecture notes all this semester. He seemed really distracted. Not a good class.
Awe give the guy a break. Maybe, he was having a hard time this semester. He really is a good teacher and he cares about helping his students succeed academically in his class. I would recommend him. :-p
Class was not bad. Professor Rourke is helpful and pretty easy. You can get a C without studying. For real its no brain work. And don't buy that dumb textbook it is so not needed. You tube was more helpful.
Fun prof. Always stopped to answer questions. Really cared about whether you understood him. No need to buy the book, just pay attention in class and take good notes. Tests are from lectures. Curves really high at the end so don't worry too much.
He's an awesome teacher. His lectures are very clear, and he always stops to answer any questions in great detail. The class isn't difficult as long as you study his powerpoints.
Awesome lecturer, great information in lectures. TONS of info, record this, listen after to get ALL the details. Study = 100% the powerpoint slides + your notes, so get it down. His T/F is NOTORIOUS, a single word can throw you off, its tough. Just study, stay in the top 25% of the class, small curve at end. I got an A. Rourke is a chiller.
Don't need the book, but you do need to record his lectures. Tons of info so listen over & over, rewrite your notes before his review day and form a good study group. Would've been helpful if he had more office hours but will answer questions before & after lecture. Dr Rourke is a very intelligent & easy going professor, I will miss him greatly!
Took Dr. Rourke for BIO 207 over summer @ CSULB. I wouldn't recommend him. PROS: He's very laid back & funny. CONS: It's hard to follow his lecture as his slides are all over the place! Slides posted on Beachboard are different than what's used in class! Class is graded on 4 exams of which are 100% multiple choice. Stop being so lazy Dr. Rourke!
I took his class over summer and i loved it. yes, you have to study. no science will ever be an easy A. record lectures, pay attention in class(especially things that he emphasizes) and go back and highlight your in class notes that relate to the material on the study guides because the tests arent that hard but the 'detail' ?s determine an A or B
3 midterms and a cummulative final. Dont buy the book not worth it just take good notes and attend class everyday and you should get a good grade. Class is curved but dont take advantage of it and still study hard!
He's a great teacher and very passionate. Super cool loved the class. Tests can be hard, but this is human physiology-getting A's on tests takes effort in any class.
Hes a great professor and loves what he teaches. Know every detail on power points even if he didn't cover it bc it can and probably will be on the exam! Beware of true or false questions, so know every detail. You won't need the book at all. Only downside he takes too long to grade exams.
Lazy professor that teaches with powerpoints. Has more powerpoints than necessary in lectures and often skips around making them confusing. Unclear on what needs to be studied for exams. 3 exams + 1 final, all multiple choice. Records videos of lecture, so attendance is unnecessary.
I love this professor so much. He is so helpful. He recorded his lectures in class so you can go back and watch them on beachboard which helped with exams a lot because it was based on the powerpoints. reading book doesnt help too much because it's too specific. no homework, just exams. super clear and willing to help. can be hard though. gives ec.
Dr Rourke is the best biology professor in CSULB. I looooooove him. He is super nice and cool. His lectures are fun and makes human physiology so interesting and easy to understand. I would take him again and again. He is suuuuper good. I would highly recommend him. I'll be taking another class with him next semester can't wait
Very unclear with what he expects. All over the place. Never replies to emails.
The lectures are confusing he's all over the place . He gives extra credit but is unclear on how its distributed towards your grade. I wouldn't take this class with him unless I would have known this information in the beginning to prepare for it.
Dr. Rourke... you're an interesting professor. He's very laid back and keeps his lectures entertaining, even if the material is relatively dry. He tries to teach in a variety of ways to accompany all different learning styles and although I'd recommend going to lectures, it's not mandatory. He can be somewhat unclear as to what is expected though.
His a good professor! His tests are straightforward and easy. He talks very fast though.... so I would recommend not only going to class and taking notes, but also watching his recordings before a test.
TAKE this professor if you want to pass physiology. Obviously you need to study physiology is not an easy subject, but he makes lectures clear, interesting, and the lecture recordings are what saved me in this class.I didn't go to class but studied the power points and lecture videos and passed :)
Dr. Rourke is the best professor ever. I love love love his class. He was clear, and extremely helpful. He is super relaxed and we'll answer any questions you may have. He try to make sure that he teaches to accommodate all learning styles. You don't need the book. This class is not an easy A but what can you expect it's physiology.
Took over summer, super easy class. His exams are straight from powerpoints, no text book required. Final exam was almost identical to 3rd exam plus a few Q of new material. WARNING: if prenursing, try to take with different professor as you wont fully understand physiology with Rourke, but you'll be a muscle pro as he heavily lectured on muscl
he's a good lecturer but extremely unorganized notes and class. Takes forever to post the frq portion of the exam so you don't know your grade the whole semester. Would not recommend if you like a normal structured class. we had two exams and one final. His lectures at the moment are interesting but his exams are extremely specific.
Dr Rourke is charming, his class structure no. Ppts are scattered, add/deletes slides driving you nuts all semester! Then, crazy detailed ?'s on MC. Unorganized making the dense material harder to absorb. Record lectures, beware of him pointing "this" & "that" out. Grade, no clue all semester. He's so smart, just wish lectures were organized.
Professor Rourke was great! The exam questions were straight from the powerpoints. Some answers were less obvious than overs. Sometimes lectures could be boring but most of the time he tells us information that's interesting and relevant to us. I believes he's a must have for Bio 207. He posts most of his lectures online.
His tests are straight from his powerpoint. Memorize every single slide from each powerpoint consisting of 50-100 slides for a good chance of getting an A. I studied 6 hours a day for 5 days a week. His slides are very messy and mostly pictures, so make sure you write good notes during class. I took this summer 2016.
Attend every lecture and take good notes; his pps are very dense with a lot of slides, but he goes through them diligently in lec and will often tell you what'll be on the test. His tests are straightforward, but still requires you to study. Do not buy the book; you'll need to buy an online hw thing, and the test is based on his pps, not the book.
Rourke is a very easy professor for physio. Lectures are recorded, has review lectures for the exams. His voice can make you sleep but he's pleasing to the eyes. I did enjoy the class and it wasn't that hard. But don't study the night before and know the material on the slides. But you don't have to memorize every slide. Take notes if you can.
His powerpoint slides are a lot and are very messy. But if you listen to his lectures (which he sometimes record online), you'll be able to organize everything and memorize the most important things. It'll help if you record his lectures on your phone and sit in the front. I studied two days before the tests and I managed to get an A in the class.
Cool professor. Exams are difficult. He records most his lectures and posts it online so you can replay them. He also gives study guides and creates basically study guide videos over important things.
Study his Youtube study guides for each exam. I made the mistake of trying to study every slide for the first exam and it killed me. Also, go over the written study guide and rewatch his lectures (he records them). His lecture slides are all over the place so I just took notes on what was on his review slides.
Very handsome which makes you pay attention in class to his long lectures. Haha. You can tell he is very considerate of his students and that he loves teaching this stuff. He posts recordings of every lecture and always asks the class if we have any questions after going over a certain dense concept. Tests are straight forward.
Rourke is such a great professor, he makes physio so interesting. You probably won't need the book, but you need the online code for homework. Attendance doesn't matter because he records all of his lectures and puts them online, but on occasion he does give out extra credit to the people who show up. His tests are straight off the study guide.
Dr Rourke's class is interesting. His lectures are never boring since he puts in some interesting facts in his lectures. he's very knowledgable in Physiology especially exercise physio. His exams are tough so try your hardest but he curves at the end.
Although he's really nice & approachable, his lectures are a different matter (glazes over instead of teaching). Exam curves & offered 2 points of extra credit. Would take in regular semester, but not in summer! ALSO: he uses old lecture vids, many of which he changed in lecture, so pay attention & write down the changes!
Prof Rourke is super nice & he wants you to succeed. Lectures are usually pretty interesting & funny. He loves relating physio topics to animals or cases of people, makes it more engaging. Forget the book. Pay attention in class & just add your own notes to his powerpoints. WATCH THE YOUTUBE REVIEWS. Trust me, 99% of the exams content are on them.
Rourke is really clear on how he grades. The exams are multiple choice and not too difficult if you study his powerpoints well. He gives some extra credit, and he cares for his students.
Professor Rourke's PowerPoints are all over the place. He describes the material in a way to make it easy to understand and occasionally offers extra credit if you go to class. The book is not required. For the exams, just watch his reviews, look at the study guide and you'll pass.
Grades are based on the 4 exams, and the homework is worth like 5% (Mc'Graw HIll every week!). You must pass the lab to pass the class. He talks a lot about muscles and physical activity. KIN MAJORS will love him! He doesn't go into details on his slides. If anything he'll go through it quick, but you MUST study it good for the exams!
Being a KIN Major, I loved this class. He went more in depth in muscle and exercise more than anything. He uses McGrawHill for HW which is due a day after test days. Lab for me was more challenging than lecture. Watch his Youtube Reviews as much as you can before the exam with notes and you will get an A on his tests.
Dr. Rourke was an amazing professor and lecturer, but his class consists of memorizing his slides which are often recorded, and he makes review videos with some of those slides. Extra credit is randomly offered for exams, and not all lectures are recorded so I suggest showing up. No book needed, but homework online helps with the grade.
Take Professor Rourke!!!! You'll love him !!! He's super cool and gives a lot of examples that connect to the real world.
This class is definitely tough. Going over just his lectures won't get you an A in class. You have to be above and beyond. Do the online homework, read the book, and ask a lot of questions. 1st exam is the easiest and the other 3 exams are hard--especially the 3rd exam--so you better get an A on the 1st exam.
He's not a great lecturer but he really is a caring guy. He let me turn in a late homework assignment that I had forgotten to do over Spring Break. Super great person! Be sure to go to lectures as he sometimes gives EC. I wouldn't have gotten an A without S/I so take it if you can! Subaru tree!
A class that is meant to be challenging and overly detailed. Taking SI helped A LOT and is truly the best way to get an A in the class.
Dr. Rourke is extremely smart. He teaches you a lot of important facts. Although lectures can be dry, he provides a lot to study for the exam. There are 4 exams and some online homework.
Amazing professor! He makes the class as enjoyable as he can while still getting the material through. Awesome guy and really wants to help. It is a difficult class but he helps a lot!
Class itself is a bit challenging because it is physio but rourke made it fun and easy. Literally just take notes and then study for exams. He offers extra credit only when few students show up to class. Exams are easy (from lecture.)
Dr. Rourke is easygoing and friendly but his lectures were so dry I fell asleep multiple times. If you want to get A's on the tests just burn the slides and what he says about them into your brain, tests are always based on slides and not the textbook you have to buy for online hw (which is easy).
Goes over material fast. It's difficult to study off the powerpoints he posts because they don't have a lot of text on them. However, he posts videos of almost all of his lectures which is nice. His review videos help a LOT for the exams, but make sure you take notes and study them in depth. He also posts study guides. Hw asssignments don't help.
This class only has 3 exams that includes the final and hw that is 10% of your grade so RIP. Rourke is a cool professor but his slides and tests are extremely hard in my opinion. I hope theres a curve at the end. Make sure you study almost every day. Too many lecture notes to study. Im sad this might be the first class I dont pass.
talks fast during slides, gives 2 pts ec pts per test, hw is basically free points, don't need book because all tests are based on his ppts, posts videos of his lectures online, and gives grades back right after the exam. tests are easy, there are just a lot of info to memorize. going over each slide is time-consuming. SI study guide was helpful
He breezes through the material which I understand some people might not like but everything you need to know is usually all on the slides. His exams were pretty straightforward and easy if you go over the slides and what he says in lecture. All in all, not that difficult of a class if you pay attention.
Favorite Professor, take him if you get the chance!! The course is hard so you have to study A LOT and not just the day before the test. Attendance isn't mandatory, but you should go to tall the classes because some things that he says are on the test but not on his slides
Rourke's lectures were confusing at times but everything you need to know for exams is all on the powerpoints. Recommend having laptop open with slides to take additional notes while he lectures. SI was very helpful and recommend. He's a quick grader and exams aren't too hard
Had him for 342 and now 442 and he is the best professor I've ever had. He is super cool and genuinely cares about you. Easy to talk to also. He's more enthusiastic about Bio majors tho so if you're in 207 he may seem a bit boring but trust he's end up being your best friend if you get to know him!
He was really nice but I personally just had a hard time grasping the subject. Lectures sometimes got boring but if he sees class isn't that full he'll offer extra credit. Your grade is based mostly on 4 tests and lab. Lab wasn't too bad but just make sure you pay attention.
Dr. Rourke is really nice and easy to talk to. His lectures can be a little unorganized, but focusing on info that is only on the powerpoints should be enough for tests. He gives extra credit when not many people show up to class! Overall really chill professor and willing to help you out!
Taking this class was very interesting and the exams are basically the lectures and the presentations given by the class. The class had no HW, just 3 exams and 1 presentation. He does take 500 years to grade your test but if you go up to him he will grade it on the spot and he does do his best to be sure everyone understands or has a fair chance.
Dr. Rourke is one of the best in the Bio department. His class is interesting and he keeps it relevant. He also really wants to see his students succeed and he is VERY fair. Whatever grade you work for you will get. I highly recommend him!
ppl are tripping, professor Rourke's physio class is not hard. makes the material super understandable. went from memorization to more conceptual questions due to covid. class not mandatory but adds info to slides that is on the exams. he's easily accessible and enthusiastic about his work. just make comprehensive F/C and you'll be more than g2g
Man, I love Prof Rourke. He was one of the professors who made my semester and I made a whole account on here just to write about him. He is clear in describing the lectures, super intelligent guy as he loves when his students interact with him. Only thing I didn't like was how he crammed things in every lec.
I love Rourke, he's such a G. He's so understanding and caring, and super chill. Lectures are recorded so you technically don't have to go to class. Make sure you don't slack off in lab because that is a whole other class to worry about. Exams are straightforward and he does not have trick questions. He really cares about everyone.
Rourke isn't the worst. You HAVE to take notes during lecture because exams are everything he says in lecture. Take advantage of being able to use notes during covid online; ctrl f is a lifesaver. You won't use the book besides the hw connects. Fair class, fair prof, fair grader. Ask questions, don't be scared, he loves questions (and his dogs).
Cool guy, not a great teacher. Questions are phrased trickily and you cannot complete ones youre confident on and come back to hard ones because you only see 2 Q's at a time. The time is also extremely limited at around 1 min per question. No consideration for the anxiety this causes when you are mildly dyslexic. Killed my confidence unfortunately.
This sucks because he is a REALLY nice guy, but its evident his passions lie elsewhere. He speaks as if youre already familiar w the subject and he has 100% forgotten what its like to be a newbie to the concepts. Says who cares at topics hes bored with. Test are extremely stressful because of TINY time limits and very wordy questions.
Rourke is cool, hes smart. The class was pretty difficult for me but its fizz, its not gonna be easy. Graded solely by exams so study up
I had Rourke this semester and he has changed his tests bc of covid. He now uses fill in the blank and application questions. I thought his exams had some very specific questions on stuff he barely went over. You don't have to read the textbook as long as you watch his lectures and take GOOD notes. Lab sucks and will just bring down ur grade.
rourke is nice and funny don't get me wrong. but the material is a lot to comprehend bc he talks really fast so you really have to listen to everything he says. exams are quite chaotic and it's worth your whole grade, while the hw is only 5%. so there's really no opportunity to keep getting your grade up besides acing the exams to pass the class.
The exams are tricky!!! The HW is tormenting me, and the grades are confused. Although he saids exams are based on his lecture, he talks so fast and unorganized. The concept is not hard, but he is not a good lecturer. The PPT is super messy and lacks information. Only thing helps me learn is the review videos and study guides. (Take max for lab!
He lectures at the speed of light. "Understands" class average on exams are LOW, proceeds to make no changes. READ ahead, REVIEW lecture notes after. Exams makes up the grade = easy to fail.
Professor Rourke genuinely cares about students and wants them to pass. He has an amazing mindset about teaching. I'd just say his only weakness in teaching is teaching as if we know the material already. Really, he is smart and knows his stuff. But if you're struggling, go to his office hours and talk to him! He really wants to help! Join SI too!
he definitely has empathy but actions speak louder than words lol. our class had like a 60% average each test ;-; he talks soo fast but he will let you ask to repeat something/reiterate. take SI for sure and make a study group!! my study group saved my grade by a tON! i recommend to start studying for exams 2 weeks before too
Rourke is a nice, approachable guy. He talks a bit fast so it can be a little difficult to keep up but its fine. He doesn't really give extra credit (2% EC) but he did curve the final grade A LOT only because the whole class was doing super bad. I could tell he really cares for the students and wants them to pass, hence the curve.
Rourke cares and wants his students to pass. He is caring and willing to go over topics if you need help. The class is lecture heavy, but if you space out your studying, you will do great. His exam questions tend to be very specific, so make sure to study EVERYTHING that he touches on in class. SI is a great resource as well!
Rourke is a cool guy, course level content wasn't easy but is def doable. Show up to lecture and take note of the small details he says bc thats what he tests on. Also he lets you see your exam score right after if you wait which is nice.
Dr. Rourke is a wonderful professor. I absolutely adored him and loved his class! I learned SO much from his class, but physiology is notoriously difficult. His lectures were dense and he can go fast, so this class requires a lot of studying to do well on exams. He really cares about his students and making sure they pass though.
Funny and nice. Class average on exams is in the mid-60s which says a lot about his teaching and not the students' study habits. There's extra credit for each exam but it's only one point. Have to pay to do time-consuming homework which makes up 5% of your grade. Lab portion is taught by someone else, but it's 25% of your overall BIOL207 grade.
Professor Rourke is nice and wants his students to pass but the average for the exams were low. I do not think that I would have been able to get a good grade if it wasn't for the online lectures that he posted because he does go pretty fast in his lectures. The 4 exams counts and lab grade is worth a lot.
I really enjoyed the class. The tests were pretty difficult (but straightforward). Lab is an entirely different class, harder than the lecture imo and is with another instructor. If it gives context, I had a really good grade in lec, but lab tanked me 5% Study hard, and study well. It really pays off. Beware of the lab quizzes and tests. Take SI.
hes really easy to talk to and hes pretty funny. its definitely a serious class so it's obviously not an easy A. he gives you a lot of tools to help you succeed and most of the time he curves grades at the end of the semester. if you actually study and dedicate time you'll pass with an A. only has tests and they are all multiple choice.
The actual material was a bit difficult, but his lectures weren't boring. His lectures aren't monotone so it makes it easier to pay attention. He does also give an extra credit point here and there which is at least something. Also, the fact that I thought he was cute made me wanna come to class lol.
Honestly chill professor, but he acts in an unprofessional way by hitting on his female students. I do not think a professor like this should be tenured.
Rourke is just a baja blast loving king. His class is hard but if you put in the time to study and use all the materials for reviewing including lecture recordings and study guides then you'll pass easily. Enroll in S/I if you think you'll struggle the leaders are very helpful!
rourke's a chill guy, but exams are lowkey hard to study for because his powerpoints are full of pictures. s/i and his online videos helped more than in-person. exams were easy, but lab is a whole different thing lol. otherwise, great semester with the dude
Professor Rourke's class is challenging but manageable with dedication. His lectures are engaging, and the online resources he provides are very helpful. unstuckstudy and other study tools can be great supplements to ace this course.
Physiology is one of my least favorite subjects and I'm glad that I was able to at least take it with Rourke since he makes it slightly more manageable. Exams make's up a majority of your grade and can sometimes be very specific. Overall nice guy who is also a Baja Blast Connoisseur.
His polls are helpful and I highly recommend reviewing them when studying .SI is helpful. PowerPoints are image-heavy, which can make them hard to follow on their own, but the video lectures do a great job of filling in the gaps. The exam questions are very straightforward, you either know the material or you don't, so solid preparation is key.
eh. Just eh. His test are pretty straight forward and he gives you a study guide for all exams. The way I've been passing all the exams is just rewatching the lecture videos. Only thing about him is, personally, he is unapproachable; went to office hours once and he kind of made me feel dumb.
