Best professor I ever had! Very enthusiastic and energetic with a passion for history. Tests are from lecture notes and easy if you take notes. Took him for 1301 and 1302 i liked him so much. One of the best teachers I've ever had and made me really wish history was my major. Makes it clear and fun. Just take notes and do two fun review papers for a book and a movie. Love the class and think everyone should take him.

He was a wonderful teacher! He wasn't that hard. You must attend classes in order to get all of the definitions. You dont have to read the book. He gives you lots of opportunities to have extra credit. Easy class to pass and he makes it fun and interesting!!!

I would definetely recommend Mr. Stone, he made history fun and interesting. As long as you go to class and take notes you will pass the tests. He makes the sylabus clear and is always available for questions.

This is a very interesting and great class to take. Simply take notes, review them, and you should be fine. I have been out of school over 10 years and made an A in both his classes.

I only get a B in his class. But if you want to really learn something about American History, take him. He is a talented story teller. I dont know why he became a history teacher. He supposed to be a Movie Director.

Best Teacher EVER! Had him for 1301 and 1302! He makes history so much fun and extremely interesting. Take all the notes you can get out of him! All notes lead to easy grades on the tests. You won't ever have to use the book! A book review and movie review paper are required but easy. 20 points extra credit is available for the taking. :)

Loved Dr. Stone! Most people who have him for 1301 take him for 1302 which I did. He focuses more on the social part of history and skims over battles and dates. Doesn't ask for dates on tests but need to know the order things happened. Makes class interesting and always online if you need something. Easy A if take notes and study (Day before ;p )

I took him for 1302. He's very interesting. As long as you attend every day and take notes you'll do fine. He does require to write two 2page essays.

10/10. Knowledgeable, witty, and an excellent speaker - he makes boring material interesting. The two essays are easy A's, and the tests just cover key words from the lectures. If you look at it as a course you *get* to take, rather than a course you *have* to take, you'll make an A with little effort. Don't bother buying the book: you dont need it

Do not care for history but Dr Stone made it interesting and funny. You need to write two papers but gives you a chance to improve grade if you do poorly on your first attempt. Highly recommend him.

He is a very good story teller, and he is funny. You dont really need the book but you do need the myhistorylab code because 10 questions are based off there for exams. Easy going guy not a dry lecture.

I LOVED THIS CLASS! The papers are so easy and he gives you plenty of chances for easy extra credit! His tests are all based of the notes you take in class. Take him you wont regret it! Defiantly taking him for 1302!

Wonderful teacher. Attending all lectures is a must in order to do your absolute best. You can still pass with missing a few classes, but it's worth not missing. He gives loads of extra credit and is very helpful and open to students. I greatly enjoyed this class and will be taking 1302 with him.

FABULOUS instructor!!!!!! I'm not really into History, but he made it very interesting. If you miss a few classes you'll be okay, but get GOOD notes from someone. Don't bother buying the book. He only asks questions from his lectures and some online readings. there's 3 written assignments that are pretty easy... and gives 20+ pts EC. TAKE HIM!

Amazing instructor! I had him for US History II and he is very clear in lectures and creates interest in otherwise boring topics. He makes sure you are well prepared for the exams and assignments. HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend!! Really enjoyed this class and wish I would have taken him for US History I.

He is a simple teacher who gives great lectures and tells you exactly what to expect. His test are super easy, if you don't pass it's your own fault- his test are common sense! :)

Mr. Stone gives you all the information that you need. You do have some essays to do but if you payed attention, you will do good. Attend everyday and you wont miss anything important. Good Luck! I will be taking him again in spring.

He is the best teacher I have ever had! I love history already, but he makes it even more fun. He really is a story teller and makes even the dullest of topics interesting. Every class is a lecture so if you don't already know the information, you'd be wise to take notes. He always uses a PowerPoint so it's easy to follow along with him. Take him!

Class is easy just show up pay attention and take notes. Test aren't hard, the whole test is over his lecture so take notes. Its pretty hard to fell this class.

Dr. Stone is by far one of the best professors I've ever had! I recommend him to everyone. He's funny, and really nice. He assigns two papers to write, but they're just simple movie and book reviews. There are plenty of opportunities for extra credit. He is simply amazing! You can tell he loves what he teaches.

The best history professor at Del Mar. All tests are based off the lectures, and the final is not comprehensive. This class is so fun and easy, but know there are a couple writing assignments! I would definitely take again!

Great History Prof. Would definitely recommend and take again! He does his 1302 class exactly like his 1301. You will do 2 papers, a book&film review & an artwork eval. If you submit a bad paper or assignment the first time (if submitted on time) you can re-submit for a better grade with no penalties. take notes and read assigned readings easy A!

I wish I could write a lot more than 350 characters. Best History professor ever. I had him last Fall and really hope to eventually take him for 1301 to replace my D from my previous professor. I was able to do good in Stone's class because he just had an amazing way of explaining and teaching history. Please take him. You will love him, and learn.

Mr. Bryan Stone is a great professor! I took his class over the summer and had a lot of fun with the writing assignments. He does have quite a few papers to write, but he gives an outline for each paper, making it very easy to complete. His lectures, though long, are filled with a lot of interesting information, even for the non-history major.

He is a very specific on what he requires from his students. You are never left without an unanswered question unless you don't ask. He fully explains the required homework and projects due. I would tell anybody and everybody to take his class.

Dr. Stone is a great professor. His tests are all over lecture, so take notes and you will pass. He gives a lot of extra credit chances. Highly recommend him for anyone taking this course

Dr. Stone is the best! Rarely do you ever meet a teacher who makes History fun. He is a very organized; doesn't get off topic. Always reminds the class of assigments due dates at the beggining of class. Offers up to 20 points of extra credit which gets added to a major test grade. Note taking is essential and the key to passing every test.

Dr. Stone gives amazing lectures. Attend class, take notes and review canvas readings and the test will be easy.

This class is cake if you go to every class and turn in the three assignments for the semester on time. Funny history professor on top of that.

Super insightful and extremely intelligent guy, Didn't even realize he had his PHD. till i looked at the syllabus. Super humble Everything is explained thoroughly and he is very clear on what he expects on test!

TAKE HIM! He's such a good professor. He makes history interesting and jokes often that make early morning classes not so bad. He offers EASY extra credit and the test are over EXACTLY what we go over in class. Once you turn in every assignment (besides test) he lets you improve it for a better grade with no deduction points.

Dr. Stone is great his lectures are great! If you go to class, do canvas readings, pay attention and take notes you'll get an A. His tests are very straightforward he has no surprises. You do three fairly easy projects which he lets you re-due for a better grade if you don't do well on them. You have the option of extra credit he allows up to 20pts

TAKE HIS CLASS! All you have to do is show up, listen to his GREAT lectures, and you'll make an A. He has an art project, book report, and census project that are all super easy, and if you do not do well, you have 2 weeks to resubmit it. He also gives up to 20 points on your test grades if you watch certain movies and write reviews on them.

This sums up Professor Stone. Hes a beast! Great lectures, you pay attention and take notes you will pass the test. Assignments are cake and he gives you plenty of time and grades it in a timely manner. So again HES A BEAST! No doubt Id take him again.

All lecture class with a few powerpoint slides. If you know how to take good notes it will be an easy A study notes! if not the class might be a little more difficult. You're given 3 easy writing assignments one on an art piece one on a movie and another on a book. Very passionate and knowledgeable. I would definitely take him again.

Stone is a class act. Is obviously liberal per his twitter, however keeps it completely neutral during his lectures and criticizes both left and right policies appropriately regarding politics. Other than that, he is an AMAZING professor with extensive knowledge in his subject. He is clear and concise with what he expects from his assignments.

Fun and easy class. Professor lectures really well and is really informative on the subject with some funny jokes here and there. Easy test and assignments are given as long as you attend class. Easy extra credit is given. No pop quizzes.

Didn't just hand out easy A's. But what makes it easy to receive easy A's is that he gives you 2 weeks to revise your papers as many times as you want once he grades them and tells you what the paper is missing. This way you receive an A but you were pushed to better yourself and learn from mistakes as you go, it wasn't just handed to you.

Mr Stone was an amazing on-line insturctor. This was his first time doing on-line, but his modules were VERY well organized. His grading is easy, as long as you do the work. He did not assign a textbook nor a Final Exam. He enjoys feedback and is always willing to help his students. AMAZING TEACHER!!

I can confidently say that Dr. Stone is the best professor at Del Mar. I've taken his 1301 and 1302 classes, 1301 was in person until the school shut down. It's very apparent how much he cares for his students and he still makes the class interesting, despite it being online. He allows projects to be revised up to two weeks after submission.

Took this class online due to COVID. There are no zoom meetings just assigned lecture to read on your own along with chapters from the book to read (that is provided) then take a quiz. Did not give a final. Just do the readings to pass the quiz!

Consider yourself lucky if you get professor Stone for history. His lectures (pdf, no zoom) are so entertaining and insightful. You will have weekly assignments (1 quiz and 1 discussion, which are not hard at all if you read the lectures). This class was easy in the sense that if you do what you are supposed to theres no way you wont pass. Loved it

Dr. Bryan Stone is an exceptional example for what to do as a Professor. Great communicator, syllabus is straight-forward, very patient, and this is a Prof that actually likes what they teach. Do the work and you'll be fine- 1 reading per week, 3 500 word essays overall, and 3 exams (all open book); I would recommend anyone to this course.

Great online Professor! Gives good feedback and answers back fast. A lot of reading and writing but NO tests. Weekly quizzes over chapter readings, Weekly persuall readings with 5 comments, 3 500 word essays, and 2 fun & easy research projects. You will have no problem if you're a fast reader and writer. I would recommend taking it in person.

Professor Stone was awesome. His lectures were very informative and interacted with student conversation as well. There is no final and all tests are open note which is a plus. He truly enjoys teaching history and wants to see his students succeed! Hi recommend professor Stone for history courses!

Would recommend him over and over again. I hated history but Stone is so passionate about it that his teachings made it interesting. I didn't use the book because the lectures covered almost everything on the tests. He responds to emails quickly and at almost any time of day. Very caring and wants you to succeed and learn. take his class if you can

Bryan Stone is one of the best, his passion for teaching history is extremely admirable. His lectures are great and engaging and the course is easy as long as you stay on top of your weekly assignments, attend classes and take your notes.

AMAZING, his class is all lecture, but he's very expressive and encourages ppl to join in/interrupt. hes very open minded and respectful, work is incredibly easy, 15 essays but he only does 3, 2 major projects but there easy, no textbook its online, and exams are easy and online and open note open textbook. TAKE HIM, hes amazing wont regret!!!!!!!!

Professor Stone is probably one of the best history professors I've ever had, his lectures were not boring as any history class usually is. I absolutely loved his course, and it was very manageable! You can tell he loves teaching history and if I had the opportunity to take him again, I would. He is extremely helpful and always answers his emails!

I have never been excited for lectures until I've taken Stone. Usually I find history boring but the way he styles his lectures keep me entertained and excited. His tests are online and you can take them at home. No homework outside of weekly responses. He does require 3 essays by the end of each semester however they are very easy to do.

Very fun class. Was open to questions, opinions, and even debates. Gives great feedback on essays and projects. Made lectures very fun and engaging. Gives lots of work but only counts some of it. I would recommend him to everyone who needs to take history or is a history major.
