Mr. Evans is a spectacular teacher! He's very organized, informative and helpful, but most of all, he's very enthusiastic. I'm a geography major anyway, but the other students became more interested as the semesters went on. You're lucky...I hear there's NO MORE oral presentation!

You'll take a LOT of notes. A LOT. That's the downside. The upside is that Evans loves the subject (very high energy) and so tells you all these interesting facts. If you go over the notes (specifically what he mentions on the reviews), you'll do well on the tests. If you don't or do it half-assed, you'll bomb. (I know both sides of that coin.)

I could NOT stand him. I think he memorizes his lectures, extremely corny. His tests are very hard. He assigns an essay over a country in the world and is a very hard grader. I hate geography because of him. He is not understanding and is the fakest guy I've met by far. He needs to teach elementary school.

This is by far my favorite professor i have had at hcc. He LOVES geography and it shows, he gives you all the tools for your tests and really cares about his students. His tests are hard but there are no surprise questions. Very interesting class, I took all 3 of his geog classes, I highly recommend this professor!

The biggest problem I encountered is receiving exam review sheets during the week of the test. He is not specific enough when it comes to what's on the test. What's the point of providing a review sheet if majority of the things on the review sheet aren't on the test? Discussions and papers should not be due the same week of mid/final exams.
