Good professor however most of the things he goes over in class are only definitions, and he doesn't really talk about questions that pop up on the homework or tests in lectures. Most of the material you need to take quizzes or any grade is going to be in the textbook. Can only miss 5 lectures or you are dropped from the class.
He's a really nice person who wants to get to know his students. Tests/quizzes were done online and the rest of the homework too. As long as you manage your time, you should be fine. I'd take him again. He also tries to give you insight on how to manage personal finances, which was really helpful!
His lectures are useless. only gives "real world examples" and definitions in class, no teaching. you can hear the door open and close as everyone leaves. Easy class but awful professor. Even said "you should have read this on the homework, I'm just giving examples". Take the class because its so easy but don't expect to gain anything out of it
I loved his classes. He makes you understand things really well and see the reasons for why they happen. Don't expect to do well in assignments by just attending classes though. He makes you study the book. Take his classes. I sure will.
Good teacher. Clean language and knows the contents real well. Very approachable, too. He offers lunch chats so you eat with him on Mondays and talk. I appreciated that.
I enjoyed his micro a lot. His teaching is not dry, he gives many examples and personal stories, and lets students discuss things. He even offered a debate class one week. I will take macro from him next semester too.
Great professor. I get anxious easily. His demeanor is so relaxed I felt comfortable the whole semester. Prepare to study from the book though. He doesn't solve problems from the book every class.
Great professor, most of the criteria for exams you will learn via online an online textbook, but Professor Temel's lectures are full of great real-life examples that make the concepts easier to grasp. He's very fun to talk to, really cares a lot, is funny and is a great professor & person.
He is a very inspiring person and you can tell he truly cares about his work. He was very keen to make sure everyone was heard in the class and regularly allowed class discussions. However the assignments were online and did not relate to the lectures that much. The assignments were easy but you will mostly learn yourself.
He was okay, great guy and fun to talk to but not much of a help when it comes to the curriculum. The lectures were very real-world economics based and didn't relate to the homeworks, quizzes, or tests that much. All work is done through McGraw Hill Smartbook and due Sunday at midnight. Cool guy but could have taught the material better
First class I took that I didn't not know how they will be useful for me. Dr. T explains what are in the book by relating them to consumers, businesses etc. Didn't think I would study economics for my Master's, but I am considering it now.
Although this class is very easy if you do the work, he gives you 3+ assignments every week and a quiz. Sometimes even doubles the amount of work and expects you to do 7 assignments and 2 quizzes a week.
I didn't appreciate the no extensions and makeups policy. But overall I really liked his class. He is first teacher I had who didn't prepare me for exams. I feel prepared for economics and my future career.
I am with the last reviewer. I think not offering any extra days is not good. But generally it was a great class. I am a chemistry major and I didn't think I would be so interested in the economy. I will see if he teaches macroeconomy in spring.
Interesting lectures. He connects world events to what he teaches and I liked that. Assignments are from the textbook. Make sure to read the book.
He's so sweet, he really is he just wants to see his students succeed. I've seen other reviews saying he gives out too much work, but to be honest I don't think it's that bad. The online assignments are very easy, they just take a little while to do.
Great, caring professor. He actually teaches economics instead of preparing you for economics exams. Check out the book and you will ace through the tests. He also offers tutoring.
He reads off his slides and then asks questions beyond what students have learned and or know. Expectations do not align with the level of information taught. I had to teach myself topics he neglected to speak on. His passion for the field is clear but his ability to translate that passion into teaching and creating a lesson plan lacks greatly.
One of my favorite professors! He has a relaxed demeanor, offers a debate class and gives 5pts extra for participating it. 4 exams, 1 optional final. I would definitely take his classes again.
Great instructor. His classes were easy to follow and interesting. He learns students' names. I haven't been, but he also has lunch with students on Mondays. Recommended.
Really good instructor. He uses lots of examples and anecdotes in classes. He has three assignments every week and one test every month. Tests are not difficult if you read the book. No paper in the class which I liked. I will take macro from him in the spring.
You have a smartbook, quiz, and homework a week. Pretty easy to get through and if you need extra help google is your friend. Super sweet teacher and very caring and understanding. Attendance is mandatory unless you have someone else sign your name on the sheet.
Sweet guy, can tell he wants you to succeed, boring long lectures. Doesn't like phones/laptops in class. Mandatory attendance, work online. Lectures repeat your textbook hw. Lengthy weekly McGraw concepts and quizzes. Exams are quiz compilations. Show up for the attendance grade & knock out ur hw in class for an A. 1 debate for great extra cred!
His lectures are very long and boring, and just mirror the assignments from McGraw Hill which makes showing up to class pointless. He doesn't answer his emails ever, so don't expect to get responses out of him at any point. It took him an average of 11 days to answer any emails I sent to him over the semester. I would not advise taking him.
Professor Temel was an easy professor. He did make attendance mandatory for this class, but he has changed it for the following semester. All tests are at home and on McGraw Hill. You honestly don't have to go to class if you are comfortable reading the material at home.
Pretty good professor overall and not too hard. Lectures can be pretty boring and he has a "no technology" policy but it didn't seem to be enforced.
Professor Temel is a nice guy, but he is not very responsive. Often times, grades would be input wrong in his class and he would not answer emails when asked about these issues. The lectures are very long, and all of the homework is online.
I took two principles and macro from him. Excellent instructor. Clear lectures and chill demeanor.
I like Temel's classes. He doesn't require attendance, but I attended almost of all them. He gives lots of real life examples for us to relate to the things he is teaching. I also appreciated how approachable he is. He eats lunches with students once a week and talks to them.
Course requires MCGRAW HILL. Simbooks can be around 1-2.5 hrs long. Quizzes 20 mins. Instructor is NOT the best. Lacks communication, can be hot or cold. He had us confused about our grades?? GIRL idk mans was all over the place. Leave this prof as a 3rd or last choice.
Great guy. Very warm and caring. Assignments are clear and his lecture slides help a lot with studies. Take his class.
Knows his stuff and explain them well. Uses McGraw Hill as other econ professors at UTSA, and the book is an easy read. Recommend him.
Temel was a great professor, and his lectures were very informative. The way he talks is quite boring, yet you learn a lot. He uses McGrawHill, which is a pain because we have smartbooks and quizzes every week. Other than that, there are 4 exams which are somewhat difficult, but if you try in his class, you will pass
The tests and quizzes were easy but there are application activities that are very annoying and have nothing to do with the lectures or books. Very boring lectures most of the class didn't bother to go to. No technology allowed as well for the lectures but no one actually cared after the first day. Pretty simple class if you do everything on time
This will be a clear indicator of you taking his class or not. Pros: attendance not mandatory, assignments are online. Cons: messed up grades until the last two weeks of school after we as a class reported him, McGraw Hill assignments don't always align with each other and it takes 2hrs+ to finish them (watch out for the app activities!!), 4 exams
He says that about 30% of the test is from the lecture but he always posts the lecture slides for the week on blackboard. He doesn't allow laptops out during class so if you take notes in class you have to do it in a journal but if you just wait for the lectures slides to be posted at the end of the week you do the notes however you want from home.
You can attend class and most likely get away with not reading the textbook, however, I recommend you do if you really want to learn and come prepared for lecture. You still need to purchase it to be able to submit assignments anyways. One attempt for all assignments and there are three each week, but none are super difficult. Great professor!
I loved Dr.Temel. He's really cool and is very well respected all around by many students. One con is that he uses McGraw Hill which sucks and he can go on for 20 minutes minimum about random topics that he gets sidetracked on. Attendance is not mandatory which has been great when I can't make it but I advise going to class 90% of the time.
Very easy class, his grading format has book readings, quizzes, activities, and tests all equally weighted as 25% of your grade. Anything you need for assignments can be found in the book and class attendance is not mandatory. He's a very nice guy and allows you to ask any question you need usually after class or at his after hour coffee chats.
I think given some of the other options at UTSA, he's one of the better ones but definitely not awesome. He goes on tangents too often about random things and only about 20 minutes of his lectures are actually useful. Questions on quizzes are written poorly but if you read the textbook on your own and take notes you should be fine. easy class.
This professor is very personable and wants you to do well. There are 3 assignments due every week (one attempt) and 4 Exams. The work is fairly easy especially if you read the chapters beforehand, but I do recommend attending class and taking notes. He also does not allow technology in class so get ready to write.
He was not a bad professor, but that being said he would talk about pointless things often and get way too sidetracked. Everything is one attempt, and some questions on quizzes/tests are worded poorly. Attendance not mandatory, but electronics are not allowed (and enforced). Class should be taken online.
The class is difficult if you don't read the textbook. Even though attendance isn't mandatory (though highly encouraged by him), attending classes is better because he mentions things that relate directly to the assignments. Sit in the front of the class. He's really nice and patient. He doesn't take late assignments. Don't procrastinate!
He's okay. The tests/quizzes sometimes have random questions that we didn't learn or discuss. His lectures are random/not very helpful. I wouldn't say it's hard to pass, but it is NOT hard to fail either. If you want something easy, this isn't it. Definitely have to put in the work. Overall he's a nice guy and the class is mid.
I really loved his classes. He is very personable and gives a lot of examples. He doesn't keep attendance, but I attended almost all classes. Recommended.
Honestly, if you truly want to learn in the class, I do not recommend taking him. He doesn't take attendance, doesn't allow electronics out, and only lets you write notes. He is quite fast-paced as well. However, it is an easy class since all his assignments and tests are online. So, depending on what you want I would or wouldn't recommend him.
He is my favorite at UTSA so far! He is very easy to understand, knows his materials and approachable. Does bunch of things to make sure students like and understand economics. I attended a few of his coffee hours and liked them. Has 3 assignments each week and an exam once a month. If you put in the work, you won't struggle in his class.
I am in engineering and I never thought I'd be interested in economics. Tamel is pretty good at relating classes to life. His assignments are all from McGraw Hill. Attendance is not mandatory but check out his classes and read this class notes before reading the book and turning in the assignments. Recommend him.
I think Professor Temel was pretty darn good. He teaches very clearly and his lecture slides are great. You can even just attend classes and study his slides to do well in exams. Textbook is a little over $100 and all assignments are from it. Final exam is cumulative. He doesn't give extra credits or written assignments.
Professor Temel is a Great professor in the field of economics, very clear upon his announcement and concise beyond the textbook knowledge. Despite, lecture may seem long and slow, however his assignment are simple and learning rewards as long you complete the smart-books and attend lectures it will be easy.
His classes consisted of him reading off of a slideshow for an hour and 15 minutes. He did not try to engage his students or make the subjects he was teaching interesting at all. I understand microeconomics is not the most exciting, but listening to him explain it in a monotone voice somehow made it worse. He seemed very nice though.
There is not extra credit. He says to attend the lectures for the quizzes but only sometimes is the material from the lectures on the quizzes. The quizzes and tests are unfair at times as you never learn about certain questions being asked. Learning Rewards (exams) are cumulative of everything before it.
Others say he's great, and he can be as long as you don't miss any assignments or deadlines(even if your reason is legit). STAY ON TOP OF DEADLINES if you take any of his classes and DO THE WORK, PLEASE! Because NO EXCEPTIONS will be given and don't even try to reach out to him to ask, he is inaccessible in the online courses.
This class is not that easy. It's manageable if you put the effort in. Read the textbook, attend the lectures, or you probably won't do well. The professor is nice, he doesn't believe in extra credit or retaking tests and stuff, so if you do bad you're kinda screwed. Lectures are alright, just pay attention, you'll do fine if you pay attention.
I think Temel is great. He cares a lot about his students. He doesn't offer bonus assignments and extend due dates and I think it is a good thing. It kept me disciplined in his class. If you read the book and check out his classes you'll do fine. He explains things very well.
Wil take him again. He is pretty low key and teaches clearly. I like his "anytime" office hour and coffee meeting with students every week too. Recommended.
Professor Temel is a very intelligent person with lots of stories and examples. However, sometimes, those stories and examples would be quite time-consuming. He can be slightly monotone, however, if you attend in person try to sit close to the front because it can be challenging to hear him, even with a microphone.
I like his classes a lot. I don't understand much from the book, but they make lots of sense when he teaches him. He doesn't require attendance but go to his classes as his examples and stories make things clear. I am waitlisted for his micro in the Fall.
Everything in the class was very clear and I appreciated it. He explains contents very well and he is pretty approachable. Exams are monthly and multiple choice. He doesn't take attendance but his classes help a lot so I went to almost all of them. Recommended.
really nice professor. Some of the material did take me a while to understand but he explains things well. Go to class and read the textbook and the class should be a easy pass.
Finishing my first class with him. He is very nice and helpful. He teaches very clearly. Bullet points in his slides help me understang things better. Has monthly exams, but they are all online including the final. Go to his classes and study the book and you'll ace through.
Professor Temel is an amazing professor. I would 100% take his class again. He really cares about his students and has a genuine interest in teaching economics. Made the class very easy to enjoy and want to show up to.
Best economics professor at UTSA! Don't waste your time taking any other professor *cough* shakira flores *cough* This guy knows his stuff and keeps his lectures and assignments fresh, so no pre-recorded lectures from the early 2000s...very kind and loves to interact with his students, hosts lovely "coffee chats". He is the best!!
The homework and quizzes were confusing and were never related to the lectures given in class.
nice professor and good at explaining exams are pretty difficult, a lot of graphs
You have to do three assignments every week until the end of the semester. A lot of busy work. The exams were all online but they were still kind of difficult. His lectures were alright but he was always considerate with us and he is also very kind.
He gets a T for terrible. Class is outsourced to Connect where most assignments have grammatical and factual errors or are from the wrong chapters. Very hard to deal with as "by appointment only" office hours are 15 min max, almost impossible to get, and if you get one booked, he usually just stands you up cause "something more important came up."
no comment
This professor is a nice professor. If you engage with the lectures, he will remember your name. However, his lectures are drawn out and drags. The course is run through Connect. A lot of the material in the lectures and readings are NOT in the quizzes and exams. Furthermore, the questions in these quizzes and exams are worded horribly.
Update from Spring 2023: No electronics, handwritten notes only.. "Given" up to a week to do assignments, but sometimes it's only 3 days bc the assignments didn't load. Doesn't respond to e-mails. Only took this class bc he had a good rating. If he changed, it's due to ppl reporting him in Spring 2023. Would not take again
This prof is horrible. His communication is lacking, and he doesn't even teach. He relies on an e-textbook that DOES NOT work with CANVAS. His responses are meek and degrading. If online, be ready to teach yourself. The quizzes and tests did not match the books explanation. But you still won't get any empathy from this guy. I h8 this class.
I would 100% take this professor again. He says that attendance is required, however I would say that you do not need to go unless you struggle with comprehending information from reading. All of the assignments, quizzes, and tests are online on an external website. The material is fairly easy to comprehend.
The WORST prof I've EVER had! Test answers are wrong and there are TONS of issues with the horrible e-book he uses. The whole class is confused and grades are jacked. This class is a HORRIBLE rendition of what UTSA offers. It's embarrassing and shameful to pay for this class. Take ANYBODY else, you will be better off!
Prof. Temel is a good person but not a good teacher. His lectures are long and pointless. He almost always went over our class time. The exams are difficult and doesn't answer questions when being asked one. Lots of homework even on exam weeks!
One of my favorite professors. He is very friendly and approachable and he teaches very clearly. This is my second class with him and I am sad that I won't be able to take a class from him in the spring.
First teacher who genuinely taught for my learning instead of setting me up for a good grade. I appreciate how he explains how the contents he teaches will be useful in my life. Go to his classes and you'll do fine. I will take him next semester too.
Prof Bulent is good. He is chill and makes classes fun with examples, news, anecdotes etc. He relies a lot on lecture slides and they are clear and easy to grasp. ECO 5003 was my first ever class in economics and I was nervous, but professor Bulent made a difference. Take his class but prepare to study.
Clear lectures, easy going guy. Will take him again in micro.
A friend of mine suggested him and I took his class. He is a pretty good professor overall. Knowledgeable and explains things clearly. 3 homeworks a week and monthly exams. Not too difficult but some questions are from his classes. I'll take him again.
Has a reading assignment and a quiz and video homework every week. Posts slides with his videos. Checking them out before submitting the reading assignment helps a lot. I also liked his anytime by appointment office hour policy. Recommended.
DO NOT take this prof online! He may be dif in person! But his class is online class is a damn mess! Then, he changes criteria near the end of the YEAR! Who does that?! I regret taking this prof and he has made me hate life! Not to mention, he is impossible to get ahold of! Take in person at your risk, AVOID if online! It is an unfair class!!!
not sure why people rate him above a 1, he is seemingly chill but lacks important teaching skills. I heard online is worse and i don't know how. do yourself a favor and take someone else. this teacher is cocky and thinks he is too good to spend time on original material. it be like he dont want to hear you bc you just a mere student
Don't listen to the negative angry people. His classes are great. His teaching is very clear and he gives lots of examples to understand things better. I liked the videos he showed and the discussion class we had. If you take the class to learn, Dr Bulent is your guy. I'd take him again if he taught a class I need to take next semester.
I liked that all assignments are online. I get nervous in assignments in classes. He was lenient every time I needed help too. I can say I sure have a better understanding of the economy after my second class with him. It would be better if he solved some more questions in classes, but other than that, I think he is an A+ professor. Recommended.
Good teacher. Class help with understanding the book. Has 3 assignments a week all online. I went to his office hours twice and he took his time and showed things on his blackboard. Had a few issues with the book but he gets them fixed quickly and gives you points for them. Will take him again for micro in the spring.
I would rather eat 5 Popeye biscuits with no water than take this professor again. 1 hour long video assignments for 1 question where you only receive 1 minute to do it. Keep in mind these account for a large percentage of your grade. Claims he is preparing us for the work force but his teaching style is reading slides all class. Do not recommend.
Good instructor. Slides with videos helped me understand the chapters. Responsive to emails. Would probably take him again.
One of the best professors I have had so far. He is knowledgeable and his classes are not dry. I was nervous about the level of math involved but did well without any problems. I especially liked the examples he gives out and the discussions he initiates. There are four assignments of equal weight and no project assignment. Recommended
Good instructor. Teaches well and cares. Will take him again.
Didn't think I would like econ, but I did. Instructor's slides were helpful. Also I appreciated that he helped me out on Zoom a few times and took his time going over the chapters.
Truthfully, Temel is an okay teacher. Virtually, he will discuss things with you after you wait almost 1/3 of the semester to get ahold of him. He does not seem to remember who you are as he will remind you he teaches 600+ students (who cares). If he is the only one to take, meh. I would recommend someone with more tenure who pays attention.
Good instructor. A bit different at first, but has a relaxed attitude that helps. 4 monthly exams and 3 weekly assignments all online. With average effort u will do ok.
Temel's class felt fairly easily for me. He doesn't take attendance but don't take his clas if you wont attend because he has some exam questions from his class teachings. No writing assignment. I aced through with some average study time.
Temel tries to get you ready for the real world; however, he could use a better strategy. Application Assignments can make or break your grade based on one question and hour documentary, either 100 or 0. Other than that, material is easy if you take good notes and attend lectures. Could be a good connection but beware that he is textbook heavy.
Engaging and friendly professor. Brace for discussions in classes. He asks questions. Assignments weren't easy but doable. I also loved that they were all online. I'd tke him again if I could.
Temel is good for the most part. I like the relaxed teaching he has. The course was ok. All assignments and tests were online in Connect and it's easy when you go to his lectures.
Temel's classes were fun. Although I hadn't taken a business class before, I was able to understand his classes fairly easily. He teaches with a passion and his assignments are not difficult. Just make sure to check out his slides and the book and you'll ace through it. Take him.
Worst class I've ever had. Data was wrong & this prof backtracked a ton! He should NOT, absolutely NOT be teaching online! I feel like my grade is skewed/wrong. Emails had wrong info and were lies. 4 an intro class, this class was not worth it. Consider someone else, ESPECIALLY if online. He gets the lowest score of ANY prof at UTSA. Ever!!! F!!!!
Has three assignments every week and an exam once a month. All online. Book is easy to grasp and the slides professor posts were very helpful. Check them out first and you'll do well in this class. Recommended.
Mr. Temel was very supportive for me. I am a 16 year old freshman and this was my first semester in college. Temel gave me extensions on two occasions due to illness and he met me on Zoom and went over quiz questions for more than half hour. I wanted to take macro from him next semester, but I couldn't see his name.
Good class. Slides were good summaries of the book and helped me a lot. Professor Temal was responsive to my emails and answered them in length. I was nervous how I'd do in an asynchronous class because I learn better in synchronous online classes but I will have a B+ from this one. Recommend him.
I did well in Prof Bulent's class. I work full time and I can't go to classes at set times. I study on my own time and the resources Bulent posted helped me a ton. I also liked the book's simplicity and all homeworks being online. I'd take him again.
This was my first asynchronous online class ever and I did better than I thought. Dr T was responsive to the few issues we had and fixed them pretty fast. I also met him in an office hour and he took the time going over elasticity for me. What I liked best was that it wasn't too much math. I'm on his wait list for macro now.
Straight up, the book was WHACK! Lots of errors even on answers. Temel was nice talking in person but his communication was lacking overall. He changed things after 3/4 of the class was done, which was unfair. Be ready to be tested on stuff you were NOT taught in the book or slides. This class taught me to question EVERYTHING. Take at ur own risk!
Good instructor. I don't learn well in online classes but his was ok. His readings arent too much and assignments are pretty straight forward. When I reached out for a few times, he gave good feedback. I will get an A- and I had a good grasp of microecon. If there was another class I could take from him, I would, but there is not.
Convinced the pos reviews are the prof making accounts to promote himself. Entire course outsourced to third party (full of errors and incorrect info) Slides are copy/pasted trash made with microsoft paint. Tests were incorrect. Every week an hour long video to answer 1 question in 60 seconds or you get a zero. Added the time randomly one week too.
Class was not extremely difficult but the 1 question application assignment, lesson checks, and time limits leaves no room for "dumb" mistakes. He also taught the textbook word for word some lessons. Strict no extra credit or extensions.
Horrible time limits on the assignments/quizzes
Prof Temel is very wise and I learned A LOT from his class, but I took away 2 stars because I found the tests in the class to be very difficult .The material on the tests was often just skimmed through in the lectures and not explained well.Although I gained a lot of knowledge and went to EVERY single class, I did not do well in the class overall
Excellent instructor. Easy to grasp things with his teaching. My only thing was that he has an exam every month and same amount of assignments are due on those weeks too. But I still liked his class a lot. Would take him again if i could.
I like Dr. Bulent's classes. He uses powerpoint slides and they do a good job of explaining chapter readings. Get ready to do three homeworks every week though. Good overall.
Weekly classes plus a reading assignment, video assignment and a quiz. Great teacher.
He is very knowledgeable and takes his time answering questions, so ask him questions. Office hours are on two different days and I appreciated it because I have so many classes. More attempts on the film assignment would be better but I understand why there is one. Positive experience. Take him.
His teaches by slides and adds some extras. Assignments aren't that hard but I'd appreciate not having three on exam weeks. One thing is really good about him though. He seems to really care about his students preparation for their careers. He talks about life skills a lot and I wish my other professors would do that too.
Doesn't allow any electronics. Exams and Quizzes all come from McGraw Hill. Does not provide any material for lectures, expects you to handwrite what he says on paper only.
Couldn't disagree with the last reviewer below. I don't know what is on, but Tammel provides slides every week. And I sure appreciated no electronics. They are very distracting. He allowed them towards the end of the semester and I see students surfing the web in classes all the time. I think he is a caring instructor and a good explainer.
I am in engineering and never thought I'd like economics. I don't know if it is all like this, but I am considering to switch majors. Great professor. Hats off!
Good overall. Has a homework, an application assignment and a quiz with 30 multiple choice question every week. All online and at home. Also has an exam every month but they are in the class. Sometimes goes off topic a bit but his classes helped me understand the book well. Read the book after his classes and you'll do fine.
Mr Bulent is kind and accessible. He accommodated my requests multiple times and always took his time talking to me. I liked that his homeworks are all online and available the whole week. Some questions were confusing but his classes clears things up a lot. I'll take him again in micro in the fall.
hes a good teacher but its just long test and an application assignment that you only get one attempt for one question about a 40-60+ minute video that cost like 50% of your grade
If this is your first ever economics class I'd highly recommend getting a different professor. The quizzes/tests had answers that were conflicting, and were briefly covered in class if at all. The "professors award" he hands out at the end of the semester created a sense of competition and did not promote participation due to fear of being wrong.
I still have nightmares about trying to talk to this ghost professor. I remember how he changed the grading criteria right near the end of the year. THIS professor is THE one that I base my worst experience off of. Good luck to you all who do take him.
I dropped the day before class started because his assignments are one question long, one minute timer, and if you get it wrong you get a 0 on an assignment and it brings your grade down so much. Same thing for quizzes, 20 questions 20 minutes. The timing is unrealistic. Also no extra credit and no electronics in class. Handwritten notes only.
Syllabus he sounds like he thinks all his students are living with parents and are financially supported by them. Tells us no extra credit bc he wants to get us ready for the “real world”. His making this class harder than it needs to be. If you are a veteran avoid this course, my anxiety is already high and he already missed the first class.
Fine but if you want to actually understand economics, pick a different professor
As an engineering student that had to take this class for some reason, I personally somewhat hated it. The class boring to the point that I have to play clash royal (I went up 5 arenas during his class) if not I would fall asleep. Also assignemnts are one n done so if I mess up with 1 thing your grade can drop from 1% to a whole letter.
My experience was a 10/10, and I highly recommend him for both micro and macro. You'll need an online textbook, and each week includes quick reading checks, a short video question, a 20-question assignment, and an online exam every 3 weeks which is online but has to be taken in person.
If you value your life, absolutely do not take this class. This was one of the biggest mistakes I've ever made. After reading other reviews, I really thought they were exaggerating. If you value your gpa, do not take this class. Every assignment is a one-and-done. The teacher is very nice and loves this subject, but he refuses to give extra credit.
Bro this dude really switched books in the beginning of the semester and because I bought my books early I couldn't return the one he had originally put, but still had to buy the one we ended up using. Ended up spending $300+ for one class like bro are we deaduzz rn. Book is also horrible quizzes sometimes over things it didn't go over.
Would not recommend, unless it is required. His lectures were boring and his assignments were so frustrating. 4/5 of his weekly assignments are 1 question, in 1 minute, and 1 attempt. And these assignments were weighted a lot, so your grade would either be a 100 or a 0. Not impossible, however would not highly recommend.& $170 textbook is required.
Dr.Temel is a good, passionate guy, but omg, his class is straight garbage. 80% of your weekly assignments are one n done to get a 100% or a 0% (in one minute). Exam reviews are also bad and no extra credit, late work, or second tries, because "the real world won't let you" like bro yes it will extended deadlines & fixing mistakes are a thing.
Great professor, talks very clearly and explains his topics very well
Everything but the test can be done online, and every single homework assignment is based on the textbook and graded through the textbook. with that being said, the text has been proven worng on multiple occasions and spreads misinformation or unclear wording, i would defineitly find another prof.
Really enjoyed this class. The actual course is natural to understand, and there are opportunities to be more involved and experience more outside of class,
While he is really nice, I didn't really get much from his class. If you fall behind early on, it is SO HARD to understand anything. You're graded heavily on exams and quizzes, so try your best on those! There's no extra credit, either.
