I just think accounting in general is hard.
He is cold as ice, has no heart, and doesn't care whether you learn or not
Course is generally difficult and students will require extensive teaching and drilling. Overall he is good if you already have a good understanding but nowhere near as good as Wood.
Accounting is very difficult and the students have a hard time grasping the material. It doesn't seem to be the failures of one teacher rather a departmental problem.
He is very difficult to reason with, does not explain lecture thoroughly for understanding, and made the course harder than it has to be..
I had him in the summer, and I think he is a good teacher, I learned a lot from him. The course is not difficult, it just takes time. Students just have to be willing to do the work. It isn't just going to be handed to you, especially not in the summer.
Good upfront teacher
Mr. Henry is a lazy teacher, he does not take the time to make sure the students understand. He would be better to teach smaller classes where he would actually listen to the students in a class instead of talking to them like they are slow.
You just can't get past the fact that he is sarcsatic and condescending. As difficult as accounting already is, he makes extra efforts to keep points away from students aside from actual exams and projects.
Means well, but looks at you crazy when u don't understand something he said.
I had professor Henry for ACCT 2 duting the first Summer Session 2003. He was kool, kinda rigid, but I made it through. Overall he was a good professor, and I don't regret having him as my professor for a class that I absolutely despised.
I am mostly indifferent about his rating, simply because I didn't need much help from him, and the subject matter was clear to me already. He does, however, knows accounting very well. His sarcasm was rather humorous to me because I can identify with th
Pretty good teacher. Should think of how he speaks to his students. Some times comments can be taken the wrong way.
I think Dr. Henry was a good teacher. The problem is I just don't understand accounting. I hate the subject all together. He did try to help me as much as possible and thats the type of teacher I needed, a teacher that wouldn't give up.
Class was too confusing, and when you ask for help very reluctant to ask.
Dr.Henry has a strong command of the subject matter - that is definte. And he is approachable. However, again his level of scarasm, can be a bit bothersome. Accounting is difficult form some, and he has to consider all levels of understanding.
I thought that he was not very approachable but if I read before class I was able to follow. I do think he was fair, but given that there are only 3 test there should be more room for extra credit for students who do not do well on departmental test!
I did not mind him. I was there to learn and he was there to teach. If you want to learn and make him know that he will put in the effort. Accounting did come easier to me then most, but he made it fun with his comments. They did not bother me.
Dr. Henry is a good teacher. I enjoy his sarcastic remarks, as they are funny. He has control of the subject, but gives really evil looks when a "silly" question is asked. I appreciate him wanting us to learn and not be spoon-fed
Well, accounting is accounting, not much any teacher can do about that, but I had an overall pleasent experience in Prof. Henry's class.
Like someone said before, Accounting is accounting and it involves math which is my weakest area. He was approachable for help but he did move fast with the material.
He made an attempt to ensure that we understood the material since it was somewhat different. He also went further to ensure that we learnt through field trips as well.Though rigid at times, I find him to be a good and humorous teacher.
Professor Henry may be tough and a stickler for the rules, but he makes sure that you understand the material and helps those that ask for it.
I was afraid of Prof. Henry and I felt as though he wasn't very approachable. However, through others I learned that he was helpful.
I feel as if Dr. Henry's teaching style was very effective, because it forced me to read more and actually obtain a level of knowledge about the material being studied before entering the classroom.
Very clear and understanding, always willing to assist student in need of additional help.
he's sarcastic, which is what makes the class fun.
Initially, I dreaded taking Dr. Henry because I had heard that his teaching style was difficult to comprehend, but after being in the class (Summer 03) I found out that he was fairly easy to learn from, and I really enjoyed the class.
Didn't Enjoy his Class
Henry imposes a great deal of class participation which forces you to learn in fear of being called out. He is stern, 100% by the book, but if you follow his program the class will not be that difficult.
Accounting is a challenging course. Henry is a good professor because he knows that it’s challenging for most students. Even though he seems he doesn’t care but he does. To me it seems he gets disappointed in students because we want to just get by. Th
He was a great help to me and I enjoy having him teach me how to manage in not just accounting but how it is so important in life to be prepared.
horrible
I received an A in Acct I with another professor and a D with Henry in Acct 2. I had a great foundation entering his class and had knowledge from my prev class. This enpowered me to succeed in his class. However my foundation was bulldozed by Henry.
I had dropped acct 2 b4 b/c i had an f with another prof. I hadn't take acct 1 in 2 yrs, and came in w/ no foundation. I did have to apply myself but I found him resourceful, clear, and I got an A. If u dint have a prob earning your grade, i recc.
Although I got a C in Professor Henry's class, I feel like I earned that C because I did learn a lot in his class. Professor Henry is cool. He's funny so that helps. Would recommend.
He know acct very well but lacks the patience to teach effectively.
Took acct 2 with him received A's on all in class quizes but failed the test. Had to retake Acct. 2 because I received a D and I needed at least a B to pass. He laughed and told me I could not go from a D to a B, BUT I GOT AN A!!!!
He is a very stern and effective teacher. If you can't take criticism nor foucs on doing hard work you won't do well. I comend Professor Henry, beacuse he really does care if you care enough to take his class seriously.HM
Professor Henry is very intelligent, but is not very effective in teaching Accounting 2
We argued fussed and fought by the end of that semester. I ended learning how to cheat to pass more than the actual standard accounting principles which followed me into acct II. If nothing else you learn to laugh at Henry. I would recommend taking anothe
Overall I think this was a great learning experience. It gave me an opportunity to improve my research, written and analytical skills while learning more about a topic that I was interested in.
Prof. Henry was a great professor. He may not be the most exciting professor, but you learn a great deal of accounting from him. He is a great teacher and I would recommend him to others.
Dr. Henry is a great professor if you really want to learn and work hard. He's not very annimated, but he takes the time to answer any questions that you have. If you don't ask questions, then it's up to you to figure it out on your own.
Gives out a lot of work, but challenging work that you will neeed for the CPA exam and/or Graduate school. Don't miss class, study, do the homework assignments & you should be fine.
Prof. Henry was a great Non-Profit accting professor. This was not an easy class and there was not a great non-profit text book, so grasping the material on the first try was not easy. To make matters more complex, it was too much info to review twice.
Henry is cool. You haft to do your work in this class. You must study if you want a decent grade in this class. I got a B but it was only with the help of studying, my classmates and good note taking. Besides this is a very hard course.
The professor was not easy at all and to make things worst, he never gives back the past exams to you to go over it and see what you got wrong and for you to keep it, i believe thats a bad way of teaching, some professors are only intereted for the students to fail and which i do beleive his one of
Didn't return exams, made studying very hard. A lot of the questions were mad to trick us and not really teast what we knew. I think he should teach at the graduate level. All in all he is a good professor but he could also improve. As for his manor in class, I found it to be entertaining
Dr. Henry was an overall good teacher. There were some times when conflicts arose, but I think he has a grasp of how to teach the material well. Despite not getting tests back, all work was readily available if you had the motivation to go to his office and copy it. He has good knowledge of accting.
Prof. Henry is a good professor overall. Although the chosen text was not the best, he tried to help us understand accounting by answering most of our questions. The exams were sometimes worded in a very tricky manner but once you studied it was relatively easy to get a good grade.
He is a great teacher, i started off really bad in the class but by following his instructions in class, i was able to show great improvement + i've learned a whole lot in the classroom.
I really enjoyed having professfor Henry as an instrector.
Prof. Henry is a good teacher, sometimes it seems like he's not trying to let you come close, but generally, he's a good man, but should be more open in terms of making students feel more comfortable approaching him for help...
not the best teacher, but he'll do
Professor Henry is a good lecturer, and assumes that students are doing their part, which is fair. Read up before class. If you don't have a knack for accounting, or previous experience, it's a hard course. His manner was very entertaining, mostly, yet stand-offish, he keeps students at a distance.
The class was extremely hard. I believe that you did put a good effort, but it did not seem that you would go the extra length to allow the opportunity for everyone to do well.
Dr. Henry is a great professor with a high level of intelligence in accounting. He moves at a very fast pace, so be sure to read every chapter before class. You may even want to read past the assigned chapters, so that you can ask questions during class. There are asolutely no excuses in his class!
At first, I knew I was not going to do well in Accounting but ended up doing better than expected. Professor Henry is a good professor in his own way. He forces you to think things out on your own, which actually helps you retain the information better.
Accounting is the bane of my life, so of course I came into the class expecting to fail. The only reason I kept taking his particular class is because he's pretty easy on the eyes. I did okay in the end though. Do ALL of the assigned classroom work. It will help you!!!
Dr. Henry was the best accounting professor I have had (out of 3). He was a cool guy and didn't take any slack which helped me to step up my studying thus allowing me to get the highes acct grade so far!
Prof. Henry, actually wasn't as bad as everyone made him out to be; he knew his stuff. He was a pretty good teacher, he just needs to work on his people skills. His class is not for the weak or faint at heart!
Too sarcastic!! Not very approachable. If you want to succeed in this class you need to be prepared to really work. It helps if you read the chapters before and do A LOT of problems! Ask questions. Even though he seems unapproachable don't let that get to you.
Winter course that wasnt too hard, but not that easy either.
I took Accounting 1 over a winter break. It was a lot of information to absorb in 3 weeks. Henry did his best to lecture and provide examples. However, when I was in class it felt like he expected everyone to have a good background of it. He is a good guy, definitely a safe choice.
Nice guy but not alot of explanation on the subject matter being taught
it seemed like he just gave the grade 2 people & if that's the case i should have gotten at least an B. failing 1 test, cheating on another and having answers given to u does not deserve a C. especially when that's what i got & i bust my butt. that sucks! but whatever
Fair Professor. Don't take his class if you do not want to do a lot of work.
henry is cool. the only thing i didn't like about his class was the outside project. he explains the material well and is willing to help outside of class. he may seem a little unapprochable, but if you can find one thing in common w/ him then he's cool. he gives you the grade you earn.
Be prepared to work
he is a very good professor. I think his students will benefit the most if it was more interactive. However, he is very fair with his grading and always available for help. If you are looking for an easy class too take this is not the class for you. There is a lot of work that goes into his class and a lot of reading. It will help you with the CPA.
Henry is a great teacher. I thoroughly enjoyed the course. Keep up the good work Professor Henry!
He will give you the grade you earn no exceptions, which may be a lttle hard on some students because many teachers seem to have some leway but he DOES NOT. He seems very unapproachable and he might be hard to talk to. He seems kind though, just be make sure you give the class the time it requires otherwise his class probably won't work for you
This class was ok. Definitely boring and you will need to work outside the class to do well !!
Dr. Henry is a very good prof. His lectures are very thorough. However, if you're not willing to work hard and study hard do yourself a favor and don't take him. Make sure you do the HW and know it like the back of your hand. Also, he makes himself available for help. Take advantage of that. I definitely learned a lot in his class.
I mena Im not very good at accounting anyway and he helped write the text book...what else is there to say!!!!
Does a good job of relating to real life situations but could be more patient at times. Overall as long as you read and prepare the class is good and you can keep up.
This professor was ok. He is there if you need the help. His lectures go over pretty much everything. It is up to you to ask questions and study outside the class. I got a C and that was because I didnt study and thouroughly do the homework. You get what you deserve in that class. No surprises.
Good Prof.
Despite the fact that this class was an online course he could have been a little bit more accessible.
You can not miss this class. He goes over a lot of things. A lot of stuff is not in the book. He relies you to listen to him. He doesn't explain things well. The dept. exams are hard.
I think he was a nice professor. He really expects you to read the book before you get to class, so if you don't that's a problem. He has dry humor and his voice can be pretty monotone. But he is very receptive if you go to him for help.
Run... He isnt a good professor for students who move a little slower. Very Arrogant.
Do not take him.
I took Prof. Henry's class for Acct I. It was terrible. He is not clear when explaining things and does not ever use visual aids. He talks the entire class and expects you to know things only a CPA would know. He laughs at students trying to figure out problems and offers no help. He lets people call out wrong answers and confuse the entire group.
I took him for both Accounting 1 and 2. The workload: pop quizzes, online homework, and 3 exams + final. Take notes in the lecture, READ THE TEXTBOOK (I suggest a chapter a week to be prepared for pop quizzes and exams). He does have a dark sense of humor, and it's not for everybody. He was funny IMO. & if you need help, go to office hours.
I took Henry for both accounting 1 & 2. He is a good professor, but you have to play your part by reading the chapters and practicing problems. The material is hard. I recommend studying at least 3 times a week, going to his office hours, and going to class. He knows his students and if you build a rapport, I think you will find him to be good.
Professor is awful. Avoid at all costs. He is unclear when explaining things and does not ever use visual aids. He should not be teaching.
I'm gonna keep it simple if you want an easy A and a little bit of accounting knowledge take this professor its once a week and the lecture is easy to follow. On the other hand if your a accounting/finance/wanna learn more about this subject take someone else.
