He is ridiculiously awesome. Seriously, one of the best teachers I've ever had. He can be a bit corny at times, but that's what make him so fantastic. He definitely has a way of pushing you into the things you are learning about, and can make the worst skeptics intrigued.
His class is interesting, though you'll never write notes fast enough. He's funny and mythology is crazy fun! There is a lot of memorization but if you review your notes frequently it becomes second nature!
I thought a 350 level class sounded intimidating, but this class is very straight forward. I don't read my text book at all; if you just take his notes & study them frequently, you won't have a problem. His study guides make it very clear of what to know. He's a great speaker, nice guy. I recommend this class for a GUR.
Aslong as you come to class you will be fine. He is pretty funny and doesnt try and make the class hard. He also shows lots art concerning the stories he talks about.
This was an amazing class, Definately the reason I got out of bed in the morning. Byron is really great and easy to listen to. He clearly illustrates all the stories in each lecture and looks up tons of art and music to go along with each one. He puts up a list of names on line that you should know so if you study and know that you'll ace the test.
Makes the topic of greek mythology very very interesting!! will take class agian if i could
Byron is an awesome teacher!! The class can be challenging, but that's just because it goes over a massive amount of material. Byron makes up for it though. He seems genuinely concerned about his students. He posts the his lecture notes online and is really friendly when approached for help. I read the book, but you don't necessarily have to.
Byron has a genuine interest for the material and for his students and keeps the lectures as understandable as possible. He has a great sense of humor, is always open to questions and offers review sessions before tests for students to get a clearer picture of the info.
Byron is a good teacher. He is really helpful and keeps the material very understandable. He puts lecture notes online, so if you miss a day, no big deal. He always offers extra help and the review sessions are very helpful.
This guy is awesome! His interest in the subject is shown by his strive to find tons of artwork and music relating to the subject, which was really cool. I'm interested in greek mythology, so this class was great. Really easy if you can memorize a lot of small stories, or if you just like mythology.
Dr. Stayskal is my favorite Professor at WWU! This class is truly amazing and I suggest that all interested students take advantage of this opportunity to learn from an expert! The course material is very interested and tests are straightforward
Stayskal is a great professor. I took Greek Lit. as a GUR, and he was clearly passionate about what he was teaching. He knows his stuff, and he even holds study sessions the 2 nights before a test where he personally takes your questions. You don't need to go to class often, just read. Or the reverse. Tests okay - mult choice not TOO hard.
Byron is fantastic! I've taken two classes with him so far and I'm taking CLST 450 with him next quarter. His enthusiasm and obvious love of the content is great and he is always willing to answer questions in class, at reviews and over email. Take a class with him if you get a chance!
I took Stayskal for Greek Myth, and Greek lit... I got an A- and C+ (My own fault) in the classes. He is VERY enthusiastic for teaching. His enthusiasm, literally, ROCK. It makes learning fun. He has some funny jokes at times. He has study sessions, which is the first I have seen for a prof. Very Helpful. Prof this is Mike! Hi if you read this!
AWESOME Professor, knows what he is talking about without a doubt. Enthusiastic, and clearly loves to teach, and really wants everyone to do well in his class. Take him!!
You'll pass if you pay attention and make flash cards for all the characters in the stories. But if you go on Facebook all period you'll struggle.
I really knew nothing about Greek mythology, or had any interest in it before taking the class. But it was my favorite class of the quarter BY FAR. Dr. Stayskal was a great lecturer and made all the stories interesting and easy to understand. He knows how to add humor to his lectures as well. If you have to take an 8am class, take this!
Funny, awesome and really helpful. Don't really have to go to class, but I want to, just to hear his jokes. No textbook because he wrote his own, which means he really knows the material well. Highly recommend him :]
I love this teacher, he was great! He loves the subject and really KNOWS what he's talking about. This class really did enrich my life (not to get too sappy) lol.
The best teacher I've ever had! Loves his subject and it's completely evident that he loves teaching it as well. His lectures and answers to questions are very clear and he seems to love answering them. Though going to class is not really necessary to get a good grade I went to hear his very interesting and very entertaining lectures. Loved it!
Even though class isn't really mandatory, one can really see that he's passionate about what he teaches. For this class he provides Blackboard notes that help guide you through the class. Additional research or going to class would be helpful in filling in the gaps. The study guide is useful too. Sometimes he repeats himself, but he means well.
THE BEST PROFESSOR I HAVE EVER HAD. Hard class though. Byron is so nice and actually cares about his students. He really knows what he is talking about and always has time to meet with you and help. I would recomened taking one of his classes!
Wonderful Class!! Lectures are funny and filled with wonderful artwork that helps the material stick. Lecture notes are more than helpful, and there are study sessions provided before each test. I stongly recommend taking this class with a friend, its a blast to study in a group!
Couldn't ask for a better prof for this class. It's tough getting up for an 8am but he made it worth it. Going to class helps remember stories for tests. Loved this class because of Byron!
great teacher. dont need to go to class, all lectures online to print out. tests all multiple choice. interesting stories. he's very enthusiastic about the topics. take it! good humanities GUR
I thoroughly enjoyed this class! Sure, taking an 8 am class can be hard for those of us who like sleep. However, if you take Greek Mythology, it's completely worth it! Byron's enthusiasm, his voice, and the content matter makes the class a must! Attending class is very helpful, not to mention interesting. I highly recommend this class & Byron!
Staysal is a total BAMF. Super enthusiastic about his subject and makes going to lecture at 8 AM worth it. His use of power points is not as a crutch, and the artwork is awesome. Very funny. Don't buy the book though; it's useless. Lots of name memorization for the tests. Best. GUR. Ever.
Stayskal rocks my socks. If that's not enough, Greek Myth is really interesting and he makes it even more so. Lots of pictures and Greek Myth humor in his lectures. All notes are posted online before class. Print them out and annotate them in class. It helped me a lot! Take this for a GUR or just for fun. Takes some studying, but not too difficult!
I ended with well over 100% in this class...it was so easy, as long as you study. Each text has extra credit. Don't bother buying the book...but TAKE THIS CLASS! It is so worth your time, I loved it. :)
Seriously, this is the best class you can ever take! Not difficult, very interesting, and the the prof is AMAZING! He really cares about his students and will go out of his way to make sure you do well. A lot of names to memorize, but study and you'll get through it. Greatest class I've EVER taken, and the best prof I've EVER had. You'll love it!
Very fun! Can be difficult to get up for an 8am class, and to truth be told, attendance isn't really necessary. But Byron makes it worth your while to attend - you'll truly regret not going. He's the best professor on campus and really cares about his students - You'll be hard pressed to ever find a better professor or class.
Easiest class at Western, no joke. Great teacher, tells really cool stories, but going to class in not mandatory. I had him at 8am so i rarely ever went. Still got 100% in the class. He posts his slides on blackboard, and everything on the slides are what you need to know. 300 level easy class, definitely an interesting GUR and GPA booster.
Wonderful Professor! If you need an easy, interesting 300 level class, take CLST 350. While attendance is not mandatory, it is fun to go, because he basically tells mythological tales the whole time, plus he is funny. It is not necessary to have the textbook, but it can be helpful if you miss class or are unfamiliar with Greek Mythology.
Awesome teacher! He makes all of the material very interesting to learn and he is passionate about what he teaches. Take this class!!
Byron's enthusiasm makes learning Greek fun. He does a lot of in class practice, so for me studying outside of class was rarely needed. He's also very understanding, and his tests have absolutely nothing unexpected on them. Overall, a wonderful person who prepares you well.
Byron is a great professor. He loves Greek and really tries to make it easier to learn than you may think. If you're a classical language major, I would definitely recommend him. He is very funny and kind of a nerd but it makes class interesting. Honestly, it's a pretty easy class if language comes easily for you. Good GPA boost.
Do not need to buy textbook. Just print off notes and go to class/study sessions and you'll do well. Very passionate about subject. Approachable.
He is really awesome! Just go to class and the study sessions. TAKE THIS CLASS!
Take this class. Very Easy. Don't buy or read the book. Just go to class and listen to the lecture. When it comes time to study for the test, print off the great lecture notes and study guide he posts and use those. If you know the guide then you will ace the test. I never read the book or went wrote notes in class and I have 100% in the class.
Byron is awesome! His class is enjoyable even at 8am. He makes already interesting stories even more interesting because he tells them in a comical way. Study the lecture notes,GO TO THE STUDY SESSIONS! and you will do well. He makes it clear that if you know the material you will do fine. He does not try to trick you like most professors! Go byron
Byron is a Greek God conceived from the thigh of Zeus, put on this planet for one purpose: to teach! lol. Really, this guy is one of the best lecturers at WWU. Not to mention, he's the nicest person I've had the pleasure of meeting. Tests are easy, BUT they require a good amount of studying.
He's awesome, funny, and engaging. He puts an outline of his notes online before lecture to help make note-taking easier. He also always has study guides. An easy class, a great professor. Everyone should try to take this before they graduate.
To keep it simple: I actually looked forward to his class, despite it being at 8am, almost everyday. My favorite class at Western so far.
Dr. Stayskal is a great guy. Extremely helpful, clear on what to expect for the three tests and paper, plus he posts all his lecture notes. He basically goes out of his way to help you pass the class. The content was also really interesting, he is a great story teller. I would recomend this class for anyone looking for an easy upper division class.
Bryon is so intelligent! He speaks off of memory, which is good and bad. His powerpoints are only photos. It's also difficult to remember all of the names and stories for tests.
BEST PROFESSOR EVER. Feels like listening to stories. Goes 100% out of his way to help students succeed, accepts late work- just asks that you complete assignment. Even though the class was at 8:00 AM I looked forward to it. It can be slow at times but going to class and taking notes is SO MUCH EASIER than skipping a class and reading the book.
You have to take this class! Pretty easy and interesting. Stayskal is the nicest guy ever and super helpful. Good GPA boost. Highly recommend him.
First off, don't buy the textbook -- it's never used. He posts all notes online and for an 8 o'clock class, it's nice to have a fall back if you decide you don't want to get up some mornings. Tests are relatively easy and based right off of the notes. I would really recomment to take this class -- it's a GUR and interesting to listen to!
I would absolutely recommend taking his Greek Mythology class, it's my favorite, and the best I've taken at Western so far. If you go to class every day, you won't really even have to study. Posts all notes online. Do not buy the textbook, unless you want to learn more about Greek Mythology on your own, he never uses it.
Byron might be the best professor at Western. He's a really nice guy, super helpful, has jokes that are so dumb that they're funny, and really cares that his students are successful. You can tell that he genuinely loves what he does. Definitely take a class with him if you get the chance!
This class is basically "story time with Byron", it's amazing. Don't skip, don't bother taking notes and don't read the textbook. Just pay attention and use his study guide to prepare for the tests. Easiest upperlevel class I've taken, but you learn a lot.
First of all, Byron is great. He posts lecture notes online prior to class so class attendances isn't vital. The subject matter is easy to learn and he's great at teaching it.
This class is amazing. You have to take it. Byron is the best professor I've had so far. He makes class fun and go by fast. And he's always making everyone laugh. The tests aren't difficult (3) and you only have to write one paper. You won't be disappointed, I promise.
Take him
His class is AMAZING! Didn't even need the book. Don't need to take notes, all is online. He makes the stories amazing. Plus, he is helpful and knew me by name out of a class of over 200. Just memorize the stories well and the tests are easy, plus 2 questions are throw away. No homework, and there is an EC project. TAKE THIS CLASS!!
Even though there's no point for me to take this class as a future history teacher, Byron made this class interesting enough for me to continue taking this strand. He cracks a lot of corny jokes, but he's so passionate about the subject that its all worth it. Daily quizzes, but terribly simple ones. If you're looking for an easy A, take it!
Byron is my favorite professor at Western! He is funny, and genuinely cares about his student's success in the course. He makes Greek Mythology so interesting and fun, even for an 8 AM class. All his tests are straightforward and easy to pass as long as you make an effort to study. TAKE THIS CLASS, you won't regret it!
If you are wise enough to take Byron, do it! Every 8am class is a few doses of entertainment for the day. Studying does take some effort, so don't expect to cram for a few hours and do great. I never took notes(they're already provided), never read the book and got an A. Extra Credit, DO IT! I loved this class. Probably my favorite class so far!
So awesome! Funny and nice, goes out of his way to help his students. He provides your notes and study guide. This class is a LOT of material and requires studying but he is understanding and very fair.
Super funny and amazingly worth taking. i transferred in a few days late, but because his study guide and lecture notes are so useful I didn't miss a thing. You actually have to study, but as long as you do the class is easy. Very worth taking.
Byron is great! He posts the lecture notes online and hes very clear and engaging, even emailing students when issues arise. Its worth going to class at 8am, but the study guides he posts make it easy to study for exams either way. He also has this awesome 20pt easy extra credit that goes towards your exams. He does everything he can to help u pass
Byron is a GREAT professor, but the tests are hard because it is A LOT of material to remember! And the class is based fully on 3 tests. Tricky class, but awesome prof!
Great Class. The notes are all online, but go to class! The stories are interesting and he does a great job of telling them.
Really nice guy he is passionate about what he is teaching. I struggled on the Greek myth tests even though everyone claimed it was easy it is a lot if memorizing but he is a great professor
AMAZING CLASS! Dr Stayskal is hilarious in his Myth story telling, he adds tons of modern slang and bits to add flair to the myths, not that they need any. Provides TONS of art and music to go along with the relevant myth. Tests can be hard if you don't study your notes really well!
Fantastic teacher who really cares for his students. My only complaint is that we don't go faster and cover more ground, but my understanding is solid from so much review. It would be in your best interest to take a class from him.
He is very that understanding that Greek is difficult to learn at first and does his best to help every student learn.
Byron is the absolute best. He is brilliant, well read, well spoken, and an excellent teacher overall.
If you have even a passing interest in Greek mythology or language, take Byron. He is engaging and entertaining and the most knowledgeable person I've ever met. Fair warning, if you end up in Greek, you'll make good friends with your classmates and with Byron and we're about 98% sure it's because Byron is kind of a cult of personality type figure
I was apprehensive about taking this course, as I have not done well in language classes before. This class, however, is insanely fun. Let it be known that this is Ancient Greek and not Modern, however. Some students had been confused prior to attending class. Byron is so nice and helpful and if you have something happening, he's so understanding.
Fascinating class!
Best class ever. Greek mythology can be confusing, but Byron is so clear and funny and makes the subject a blast! I wish he taught more classes! Posts all notes online. Btw, if you've read the Percy Jackson books, you could not do anything but show up for the tests, maybe breeze through notes, and get at LEAST a B. Not kidding. Best class!
Take this class as an easy GUR. Greek Myth story time!
Byron is amazing, I have taken a full year of Greek with him and I just now took Mythology. Byron is there for his students and is always willing to work with students schedules so they can get office hours. He is hilarious and makes Greek Mythology come to life. He will also tell you exactly what to expect on the tests. Best professor on campus!
Byron is one of the best professors that I've had at Western. He is kinda dorky and the classes tend to go slow because he does so much review but it pays off in the end. He is also really understanding if you need help or have to miss class for anything. Tests are very easy if you go to class and study for even 5 min a day. TAKE THIS CLASS!
Byron is probably my favorite professor at Western. I'm amazed at how easy he made learning a language, especially one as complicated as Greek. He goes at the perfect pace that both challenges you but doesn't make it too hard. His patience knows no bounds and his sense of humor made the the 8:30 class worth it. Take him if you have the chance.
This class is VERY easy. There is a small quiz every day that is worth 5-10 points, so going to class is important because they add up. There are only 3 exams total, all of which are easy and only require memorization of paintings, artists and dates. I really enjoyed this class, Byron is a good professor and makes the subject fun.
Byron is hands down the best professor I took classes with at WWU. Randomly choosing to take Greek 101 for fun my ended up with my getting a minor in Greek because of him. I took 8 classes with him, two of which were at 8am just because they sounded fun. I highly recommend any class that he teaches. You'll have a great time and learn a lot.
byron is an angel. sadly, I might be transferring because bellingham is not for me, but hes one of the only reasons I might stay. hes a great teacher and hes one of the nicest people i've ever interacted with. greek takes a bit of review (I recommend flash cards) but he reviews everything. fav teacher at wwu, hands down.
I really don't go to class as much as I should but Byron was always willing to work outside of class time with me to help me not fall behind. He is one of the best professors at WWU. Randomly taking the intro to greek class was amazing and I would most definitely recommend it for an incoming freshman, if not just to try greek
You are only graded on 3 tests. I got 98 on like all of them but I also studied for like 10 hours before each test. There are ALOT of names to memorize! Probably dont need to study as hard, but the tests were super easy since I did plus only multiple choice questions. No study no pass. No need to attend class, he creates notes. Good lectures though
Byron is one of the best professors I have ever had, I took Greek 101 on a total whim and have now continued on with the language just because he was able to interest me in it so much! Even though I didn't go to class as often as I wish I could (sickness + family trouble) Byron really cared about making sure I succeeded! Definitely recommend!
Byron is the best professor at Western. If you are a fan of dad jokes, caring professors, truly mindblowing illustrations, and genuine laughs, take his course. He makes learning a dead language very lively. Big fan of this man.
I loved taking Greek Mythology with Byron. I had him for my first quarter at WWU which was all online due to covid, and his zooms were clearly well thought out and prepared. I genuinely enjoyed attending his zooms because he made the material so engaging and clearly was knowledgeable about and interested in what he was teaching. Highly recommend!
Byron is a nice professor and definitely knows what he's talking about. He posts pdfs of the material from his lecture slides so you can take notes more efficiently. His study guides are helpful for knowing what to study since its taken from the notes. He does 1 extra credit assignment but you probably won't need it. There are just exams and quizs
Taken during COVID, online. The class is graded on weekly quizzes, and 3 non-cumulative exams. You can skip a class here and there, but his lectures give all the information needed for tests, and his summarized notes are decent but not enough. If you take notes on his lectures, tests are easy. And his lectures aren't bad at all.
Byron's classes are super easy. He posts notes from the lectures which is enough that you don't need to go to class. We read 3 books: The Odyssey, Plato's Republic, & the Oresteia. I looked up audiobooks and listened to get enough info and used the notes and study guides as review for the material. He has 3 noncumulative exams and a few quizzes
There was a fair amount of reading but the quizzes were a guaranteed 100% (you could take them as many times as you wanted) and the exams were very easily and straight forward. Easy A and I didnt even do the +5% extra credit assignment at the end.
Byron loves his subject and loves helping his students. He recognizes that Greek Mythology is most likely a GPA-booster or a simple class supplementing more difficult classes. Hes understanding, super knowledgeable, his lectures are capturing, and hes so kind. Definitely the best teacher Ive had at Western up until now!
My favorite professor that I've had so far. Very passionate about his subject, great lecturer and it doesn't hurt that he's a lenient grader.
Lectures every Mon, Wed, and Fri. The notes are clear and easy to follow, and he sticks to the lecture schedule pretty close. Lectures are early, but a good way to start off the morning because he cracks jokes about the myth characters. Love him, 10/10 would take again
Very lecture heavy, if you attend you should be fine. Just add commentary to the notes he already provides you with. Pretty straightforward. The textbook should be skimmed at least or have summaries read about it. Some get by without the book, though.
He's obviously really passionate about what he teaches and his lectures are always pretty fun and entertaining. He goes off on tangents sometimes about things in the material he thinks is interesting. Definitely would take him again. Honestly if you go to class the tests are pretty easy.
The professor was really good at interacting with student, especially through an online class. He clearly is passionate about the material. There is a lot of reading to stay on top of. Mostly graded by quizzes and tests. The quizzes, in my experience, were fill in the blank but repeatable. The tests were multiple choice.
This was a very fun class and one that was easy to take online. I would definitely recommend it to people wanting to learn more about Classics and such. Byron is a very engaging speaker.
This class was great and Stayskal is super knowledgable, funny, and just a really nice prof. He played/showed cool relevant music and art (that we weren't tested on). Textbook was optional, he provided note outlines before lectures, quizzes had unlimited attempts, 3 multiple choice exams, and he gave an extra credit assignment at the end. 10/10
I highly recommend this class. The lectures are very interesting and if you go to them and review your notes before tests and quizzes you won't have any problem passing. Byron is a great speaker and even though I had this class at 8:30 am, I was never sleepy.
Greek Lit- He make the lectures engaging and the reading is interesting. He's well informed about all the material so he can answer any question you have. Very nice professor 8 quizzes worth 30 points each and theyre unlimited attempts. Three exams, you MUST study for them but if you know the material well, its very easy.
Byron was awesome! Though it was a large early lecture, he was very engaging with the content and eager to answer any questions. He is great at making dense topics easy to understand. Use the class notes & study guides! These are super helpful for quizzes + exams as he takes questions directly from these. Easy, fun class for upper division credits!
If you can take this class do it. Very kind and engaging. The most important thing is that you show up. Even though it was at 8:30, his lectures were always very interesting and you can see he happy to be here and teach. Also very ready to sit down and help if you need it. If I could take again I would!
Stayskal is so amazing, his lectures are like story time, and he really knows how to set his students up for success. The class is all based on quizzes and tests but you can take the quizzes as many times as you need. I truly loved this class and prof!
Professor Stayskal was amazing! His lectures helped me learn and understand the stories better! Textbook is optional and quizzes aren't super difficult because you get unlimited attempts to do 25 question in 10 minutes! There weren't any essay's! 10/10 recommend taking a class with him!
I took Greek lit and myth with him and I would highly recommend taking a class of his. His lectures are interesting, and he has good power points. There are three tests that you should study a decent amount for, but he has really good study guides. Amazing professor, and clearly very passionate and knowledgeable about the classics.
I went into Greek 101 thinking it would be overly difficult but Byron puts so much effort into making sure you understand the material. He is super accessible outside class and makes class fun. I will be taking more classes he teaches!
Dr.Stayskal was genuinely a treat to have as a professor. He is so fun and passionate about Ancient Greek that it makes you want to be just as passionate. He is incredibly compassionate He will let you turn in any homework or tests after the due dates and is always available to work with you outside of class. Please take his class!
I ended up not buying the textbook, and everything I needed was covered in the lectures and in my notes (book not required). It's lectures, timed re-takeable quizzes and a couple timed tests, so study/memorize before taking them. Byron was passionate about the subject and was fast & communicative when emailing.
Byron is a great professor. You can tell that he cares that his students are absorbing and learning the class material. He makes sure to make lectures fun and doesn't chastise students for getting things wrong, which happens more often than not in a language class. Great professor. Daily quizzes for attendance, but they're not hard if you try.
Byron Stayskal is an awesome professor. He makes every lecture fun and tries to be super energetic (even at 8 AM). He has a little quiz every day for attendance, but as long as you were paying attention the previous day you'll be fine (sometimes he even does a review before you take it). Overall a cool guy, and an easy class.
Byron is seriously the ideal greek mythology professor. You can tell how much he loves the subject and watching him lecture is so fun because of it. There is a textbook but i did fine without it since he posts lecture slides on canvas. would highly recommend this class as an easy and fun gur!
Easy class, great GUR, and interesting content.
Very fun and informative class
Best lecture professor I have ever had, he was so engaging and made the myths seem relevant and funny, I never skipped a class and looked forward to it to start my day. I thought I would be bored because I knew a lot of mythology before registering, but I was wrong, and I was never bored.
I luv him. It was really hard going to 8:30am's though, especially cause you just sit there and listen. You really don't have to go to the lectures at all. All the quizzes and exams are online. You can find the optional textbook online for free, you don't need it at all. He's funny and really passionate.
Super Lectures! Would take clases again with him!
Byron is an incredible professor who desires to see his students succeed. Prepare yourself for daily quizzes, but they're not hard if you show up and practice.
Stayskal is a phenomenal prof who is incredibly entertaining. The class is graded on a variety of quizzes and 3 exams, which are fully online. The quizzes are unlimited attempts so you can get 100% on them easily. You should attend lecture to fully understand the content, but it isn't fully necessary as he posts all lecture content. Def recommend.
Took Byron for 350 and 360 and enjoyed him in both classes. Lectures were clear, engaging, and funny, and even though it was an 8:30 class I was excited to go to them. All graded materials are online and quizzes were repeatable for full credit.
Dr. Stayskal is by far the best professor at Western, he really cares about his students and his lecturers have so much passion and humor. Both CLST 350 and 360 have optional attendance, but you don't need to read any of the texts if you attend regularly. He makes Greek Mythology fun, and the tests are take home on Canvas.
Took for GUR it's not all that bad.! he is very passionate about what he teaches. although the quizzes and test are kind of frustrating because he gives, 30 questions with 10 minutes to do and they are written responses on canvas: I do have accommodations for extra time, but before that he wasn't really willing provide more time.
Amazing professor. He is very clearly interested in what he teaches, explaining everything in depth. Easy grader with frequent quizzes on the subject. Lectures are overall easy to follow and minimal notes were needed. Would 1000% take again
i love byron!!! he made an 8:30am lecture really fun, which I didn't think was possible. lectures were interesting and creative, and notes were always available online if you missed class! very much would recommend!!!
A very good story teller, perfect for Greek studies! His quizzes/exams are very structured, which is a double-edged sword, but he teaches the material well and makes his expectations on the tests clear.
