Not easy class but he was vey helpful.

This guy thinks he knows everything. Turns out, he knows just 3/4 of everything, which makes him humble. If you want to know stuff, call him. You got a chance he'll know it or pretend to know it. He should start teaching, that's how good he is.

Great teacher, I hated English before and now I still do but not as much. He is very clear and makes class interesting. There is alot of HW assignments but most are short and easy. Keep up with the class and you'll get a decent grade. I would def. take this class again, I learned alot.

I liked this teacher so much that I went from his 101 class into his 103 class. He really taught me how to write a paper. He is a really nice guy who is willing to help you do your best in his class!

Mr. Dau is great. As long as you keep up you will pass. He is great and very clear. Don't let him scare you if you take his on-line course, as long as you email and ask questions the class is easy and enjoyable. Don't be overwhelmed, give it at least three weeks and you will see that he is the best English teacher.

Mr. Dau was easily on of the best professors I had at Citrus. He has a fantastic sense of humor that keeps his classes interesting and engaging. He is very helpful, always avaliable during office hours and willing to talk.

Takes you step by step through every assignment. Key to this class is showing up doing the little assignments so you dont get behind then end up missing a lot of points. Easy quizes if you read the stories, fun discussions, willing to help. If you like to write you will love him, if you dont you will still like the class and be able to pass.

Good teacher, good sense of humor. you can tell he enjoys teaching and his students. Just do the readings and the quizzes are a breeze, good grader, adn there to help...take him you wont regret it.

I have never had a teacher make English so interesting. Mr. Dau has helped me learn so much and has made it a fun experience the whole time. He is an awesome teacher. Take this class!!

Although I am speaking English as a second language, his class could have made me to change my major from nursing to English.I still remember his passion about bringing philosophy from the literature into our lives. Life is cool as him :D

DAU is the best english teacher that i have had at citrus. He is really helpful and whenever you need to talk to him about something he is there. He is really easy-going about late assignments. The only thing is that he tears essays apart with corrections but in the long run it is good.

I took his online class...he is the best english teacher I ever had!! He is so helpful! Theres a decent amount of work but u will really learn a lot. I highly recommend him, great teacher. In online class he gives out every clear and helpful handouts. Assignments are done step by step.

mr. dau is amazing! if you show up for class, you will have absolutely no problem in this class. you are able to send your entire essay to him before turning it in, and have it corrected. I highly recommend him! take his course!!!!

He is a super funny teacher, but a hard grader. he will make you earn your grade in that class.Make sure you his email like he says with his essays. that will help get you a better grade on your essays. AND BE SURE TO READ ALL THE STORYS you use them till the end of the semester.

Great Professor! Good sense of humor, and very helpful when it comes to writing papers! TAKE HIM! Class is fun because he assigns group assignments which gives you an opportunity to work with other people in your class. Very reasonable grader.

This guy made coming into class painless. Never really been interested in English, but he knew how to grab our attention and he was organized when it came to the lesson plan and grades. There's some reading and you'll have assignments every day, but if you're not a baby/slacker you should be fine! GREAT teacher!!!

aside from the fact that all the girls think hes hot...he is actually a legitimate teacher. i have never had a prof. offer as much of his personal time as he did. if u give half a crap u will succeed in his class. sometimes he allows disruptive morons2dominate conversation & it is THOROUGHLY ANNOYING bcuz u want to hear legit analysis still AMAZING

I loved his class. He added humor to the lessons and encouraged class participation so that everyone was more interested in the material. He grades a little hard on the papers but he lets you email him and rewrite over and over so if you really wanted to you could get an A on each paper.

Great professor, passionate, organized, interesting, teaches objectives step by step, teaching style lecture, groups & interactive, reaches all learning styles & learning types.

Professor Dau is amazing, his very helpful with homework or test. His class is enjoyable and his a very funny guy. I recommend everyone to take his class. Just pay attention and do all the paper work and you will be fine. Attendance is a must, if u attend every session you will get an A or B.

Very fun teacher. Makes class entertaining. As long as you go to class and read the stories from the book, you'll be fine. He lets you email him your paragraphs for your papers so he can help you before you turn them in for a grade. 3 papers, a midterm, a final, and little assignments in between. Makes reading and English fun. Great teacher.

He is very helpful, kind, funny and acts a little bit like Seth Rogan! Great guy knows what he's doing and has a passion for English. Do your work and you'll pass, read the material for the quizzes and make sure you take notes!

Mr Dau is a good Professor. Hard not easy. One good thing about him is he will review your papers so you can improve your grade and he will allow you to re-write til you get it right. But no I would not take him again. For me he was a very crucial grader

One of those professors that wants you to be a better writer. Amazingly helpful, always available rather via email, in office, or in class. He plays a lot by ear, depending on what the class needs. He makes it a point to remember everyone's name, once he gets that he doesn't take attendance like other professors that want to waste 15 min on it

Mr. Dau is probably one of the best teachers I have ever had. I took him for both 101 and 103. He is extremely helpful and a great teacher.

I'm not good at writing essays so he was very helpful with the writing. His class is seriously NEVER boring. He likes to show examples by using movie clips. He is a funny guy and really wants to help you if you need it. Something about his personality is very likable, so you will end up liking him.

Mr. Dau is punctual, organized and clear with his expectations. All of the hw prepares you for the papers. I think there were 4 total. If he offers this class online take it!

As far as English teachers at Citrus go, I must say Dau is the best because you can tell he loves his job and cares about his students. You will sit in class and laugh the whole time and then realize you learned something! (he's sneaky like that lol)

Mr. Dau has been my favorite teacher at Citrus. He is super helpful and he keeps you interested during class. You write about 4 essays and then the research paper, make sure you do them all! He is very helpful and easy to talk to. I recommend taking him.

Took him for English 099 and 101. STRONGLY RECOMMEND him. He is a great instructor, you need to earn your grade, but he is ALWAYS helpful and he really cares about his students. He is funny, always joking around, but not too much where it's distracting. TAKE HIM! :) lol

Dau is a really awesome teacher. The class is a little difficult but he takes you through everything step by step and is really student friendly. Any questions you have, he'll answer them and stay with you after class too. I highly recommend taking him for any English class that you need. He's very funny and goofy but serious when he needs to be.

This professor is awesome! His ability to teach is incredible. He keeps the class entertain which time passes by quick. Writing essays for his class is a bit challenging but he would help you improve your writing and let you do rewrites. Very approachable! Textbook is not required. Rarely used it and when we did the stories/ plays were online

Professor Dau is awesome. I couldn't agree more with what other students have commented about him. I took him in the summer for English 103, and it is still one of my favorite classes. He is personal and a funny guy, but helps you become a better writer.

I wouldn't have passed English if it weren't for Dau. English is my worst subject and I passed 101 with a B and it's because of him. I had to take him again for 103, it's the only way I can pass. He's always willing to help you out and will practically feed you the words to put in your essays (kinda). His class is always so much fun & interesting

Took ENG 101 DE w/ Professor Dau for my very 1st semester of college. I was surprised how much I learned from this class. I love English, but don't worry-- he makes it fun even if it's not your favorite subject! Dau is strict (a good thing!) when it comes to spelling, grammar, syntax, etc., but he will teach you anything you don't already know!

I LOVED HIS CLASS. but dear god if you have a life/job do not take his online summer/winter course. Its SO much work. Its literally every assignment from the semester long course, squished into the shorter session. It's so much work for the short session. But definitely recommend for semester courses!! He's a great professor and helps with anything

This course was very wonderful and I did enjoy the thought-provoking assignments! The course is predominantly based on a few essays, all of which are not too difficult and shouldn't consist of more than four pages. However, he is a difficult grader on the essays, so be sure to follow his criteria. This class is full of discussion!

Took Professor Dau for ENG101 online in Fall '16. He was super funny, yet serious when necessary. No book req'd! Hardcore LSU fan/alumni. LOL. I can't wait to take his ENG103H course! He helped me so much on my final paper. I would recommend. He is a tough grader but it helps you improve your writing skills. 5/5 stars.

Great professor, lots of reading and some lectures. Gives pop quizzes to make sure you read. Great professor over all, really helps out.

The effort that you put in can definitely be reflected by your grade in this class We had readings & discussions assigned to us. Class consisted of us having those discussions. We had 3 essays to write and was able to rewrite 1. Tough grader when it comes to essays, but emailing him your paragraphs beforehand will help with that. Hes rlly nice.

Dau is truly an amazing professor. Coming in right from high school AP classes, he takes getting used to based on his (what I would call) preferences in writing. He is often readily available after class and during his office hours, as well as via email for questions and feedback. He cares greatly about his students, and pushes his students.

Dau is an absolute riot. He's one of the funniest and most enthusiastic professors I've had in ages. He assigns quite a bit of work and does grade INCREDIBLY harshly, but he offers a lot of wiggle room and a re-write to make up for it. He makes you think deeply about the material discussed, and you will learn a lot from him. Hard but fun class.

Really cool guy with a great sense of humor, who definitely is passionate about the subject. If you're looking for a chill or easygoing class then you should probably look elsewhere, though. As an English major I was able to get by but you have to be very disciplined and constantly revise things over and over. He is a very very tough grader.

Ignore the bad reviews. This is by far the best English professor I have ever encountered. He will teach you how to write from different perspectives and isolate arguments to make precise arguments. You will learn how to dissect any conversation and back it up with evidence through discussion and in writing. I would retake him if I had the chance!

Dau's class is challenging but worth it. Stay on top of the readings, engage actively, and utilize resources like Unstuckstudy for study prep. You'll develop valuable writing skills, even if the grading is tough.
