shes the best hands down..incredibly nice and helpful..sometimes the lectures move really fast but definitely don't skip the lectures cus u cannot learn from the textbook in this class..its all in class and we have really good discussions also..wish she wus my prof for all ma other dumb courses

Definitely plays favourites! Follows a strict marking scheme which the other profs or even the course director dont necessarily follow to the core.

Very nice & helpful prof. She really knows her stuff and is willing to help you if you have questions or don't understand. Relatively fair & easy marker. However, since the class average was too high at the end of semester, she decided to drop everyone's mark my 8% (so if you have her, pray to have a stupid class).

I found Professor Zorn's course very enlightening, and she definitely enriched my eductational experience. I think if anything, she was too generous at the begininning of the course, and people began to expect this behaviour from her all the time. I walked away from this class very satisfied.

This course was very easy as long as you took advantage of the resources available. All lectures are posted online, accompanied by notes and examples for assignments. Many resources are provided to aid with all homework and assignments. You will do very well in this course if you use all the resources Cael posts.

She's an interesting teacher, really fun and passionate about what she teaches. Didn't really like the class however, wasn't what I expected BUT it is easy to get a good grade so long as you really utilize all the different resources she gives you. Have good notes, attend lecture and actually pay attention and you'll do fine!

Do you want to get A or A+? take this course! just attend all the lectures you will get at least A.

Professor Zorn is amazing! She's extremely helpful, she's is clear and engages the class which is difficult to do in an online course but she's done so successfully. She also really cares about her students, one of the best profs! :)

Prof Zorn is AMAZING. I felt like I was in class because her online lectures were recorded clearly and made sure students in the in class section ask questions through the mic. I was able to email her and get instant response. We even spoke over phone which she initiated for me to have better clarity. She is one of a kind. Best online course.

Words can't describe how amazing this prof is. This is the first time I am taking a course with her online. If I was given a chance I would take courses again and again with her. She is understanding and will do whatever she can to help you succeed in the course. However, you must work hard for in order to achieve a good grade in the course.

Amazing lady. She is so passionate about what she teaches. I would take courses again and again with her. Her lectures are so gooddd and clear that if you missed one for some reason, you would feel guilty. Like the info she teaches you, it stays with you no matter what. Every prof from York must learn from her on how to teach students.

She cares about you like no other prof. She's super nice, and very genuine. Unfortunately she has been taken advantage of by students in the past and had to tighten up a bit, but still really cool. Skipping class could easily land you 2-3 grade points lower than if you show up. Don't buy the textbooks though. Everything is posted on her slides.

Cael Zorn is awesome and I loved her perspective on the topics we studied in class. She REALLY cares about learning, in the highest sense of that word, and about every single student. She will always be eager to help, and be available for you (within reason) if you ever ask for help. Thank you. Oh, and she's vegan which is an awesome bonus :P

Cael was probably one of the best professors that I had in my university experience. She is really detailed in telling you what she wants and how to obtain an 'A'. I took the class in the summer, she took out some classes b/c we had to focus more on certain aspects. One mid-term open book and a final paper

Cael is amazing for online courses. She has good lectures to explain everything and just gives answers to the homework. She explains her grading criteria very clearly so if you follow that you will get an A+ without a sweat. Great course and would def recommend her for online. Easy assignments, easy participation mark, and one open book midterm.

Course is really easy: open book exam, 15% participation and two small papers. She seems organized but would upload lectures sometimes a week late which was frustrating (not a problem if you're in the in-class section). Lectures were clear and she gave plenty of examples which helped a lot. You do not need the textbooks, please save your money.

Cael is an amazing professor that really cares for her students. Great course for a first-year student. She is really passionate about what she teaches and the effort that she puts into the course is clearly visible. There are a lot of worksheets you have to do and you have to go to class to get a very easy A.

Cohen was a great prof for MODR 1760. Her lectures were abit long and had a good amount of content. She uses Lecture Participation Assignments (LPA) which are count towards your mark. You do not need a text book as she provides all the information needed. All the assessments for online were straight forward and she explains everything well.

To be honest, apart from the other professors who teaches this course, shes by far the easiest. Homework (20%), participation (10%), 2 tests (15 & 20%) and a final essay (35%). Id recommend taking this course in the summer where I think its not as heavy. Straightforward but can be a bit of a slow-talker.

Cael is an amazing prof for modr 1760! Her lectures are to the point and she tells her class exactly what she looks for - never any surprises.

SWEETEST professor ever. Caring, friendly, passionate. A little slow with the grading this semester but the university does not give her any TAs and she was busy during the semester assisting students through texts and zoom calls, as well as creating 40 minute long lecture supplements telling us how to get an A+. You won't regret taking her class!!

amazing prof. so understanding and dedicated to helping students succeed. the best ethics prof at schulich - no doubt. other comments about her lack of organization and timeliness are mainly due to the online semester change, departmental things she can't control, and the fact that she spends so much of her time working with students. love her!

She is a great professor and is always willing to make time for her students. She was very understanding during the COVID situation and kept delaying the deadlines of the assignments to help the students. She also tried to get one of the assignments to be dropped since she understood it was a lot of work. Way better than all of the other profs.

Shes very nice and understanding especially during covid. She is clear and very straightforward with what she expects. She is extremely compassionate, caring and helpful. The course is also very easy. If you stay on top of your work and understand the concepts, this class is an easy A.

One of the sweetest professors I've had so far. She is extremely understanding, and it is clear that she cares about her students' success. Took as a "bird course". There is weekly homework that can really help your grade, and they are always straightforward, no confusion in this class whatsoever. Her lectures are thorough and easy to understand.

Professor Cohen is a real gem. She is so kind and clearly cares about her students as well as the material she is teaching. I am so happy I took this course with her! She was always available to answer any questions I had and was super accommodating! Take any course with her she's amazing!

Cael is an absolutely incredible professor. Before taking this course, I had massive troubles with my thought processes. She taught me how to think deeply, how to assess argumentation acceptability, and how to reason clearly. Grading is not tough. An A+ is absolutely possible. Make sure you speak with Cael about your assignments for extra help.

When I say attendance is mandatory, I mean watch all lecture videos. They're very helpful. Don't fall behind on them. Dr. Cohen gives you everything you need to do well. If you ever need help, don't be afraid to talk to her about your situation. She will be empathetic and help you out. She is literally trained to talk about mental health issues.

Course breakdown: test #1 (20%), test #2 (20%), 1 paragraph assignment (15%), passage analysis assignment (30%), lesson participation worksheets/LPAs (15%) Watch all lecture videos, understand everything being taught, and make sure to ask the professor any questions you have. It doesn't hurt to try asking for an extension when required.

Very Accommodating and Sincere

Course was very easy with her. Just watch all the recordings that are titled "mandatory" and use the demos to guide yourself through the assignments/participation homework. Unfortunately almost your entire grade comes from 3 assessments so if you do bad on one it's a big drop in grade. Good prof overall and easy 6 credits.

The course is fully asynchronous so you can watch the lectures at your own time. She would give weekly assignments which are easy to do. There was one take-home midterm and other major assignments were take-home as well. Course content is easy. I Took this course as an elective and I can say it was the easiest A+ I have gotten in my entire degree.

Asycnhronous lectures. Course content is easy. Easy assignments and quizzes. In summer - 5 assignments and 8 quizzes. Must buy online mindtap textbook (about $100) to do some quizzes. Great teacher

The course was fully asynchronous. She would post pre recored lectures that were easy to follow along but were super boring and slow paced. I'd suggest speeding them up. We also got weekly LPA and homework. They were easy but very tedious. The courses requires two textbooks but I didn't touch mine once.

She is THE BEST professor I have had in my four years of studying at York. It's great to have a professor who truly cares. She messaged me after I submitted my assignment, pointed out some mistakes, and allowed me to resubmit it. And when I got sick and couldn't complete my last assignment on time, she gave me an extra week to submit it.

The course itself is boring, but you shouldn't really expect anything more prior to taking. She also may be monotone, but she does really care for students. Really, reallly flexible with deadlines if you can just communicate your situation with her prior to the deadline. Just complete the work with decent amount of effort an you'll get your A or A+

Don't buy the textbooks as they are not necessary to do well in this class. I didn't open mine once. Great professor-gives her number in case you need to get in contact with her and is more than willing to give extensions if you explain your situation to her. She says in the beginning it is very possible to get a 100 in the class and it is true.

Good teacher overall

Very nice and clear expectations, walks you through each step and what is expected from you. Very organized and if you watch all the videos, u are good.

Cael Cohen is truly a phenomenal professor. She is one of the most intelligent and kind hearted professors I have ever met. She cares for her students and wants them to succeed. You will learn a lot from her courses and gain various critical skills.

No need to purchase her textbooks. She did have many assignments due (every week, either a mini one, test, or major assignment). Was really easy and her lectures did provide many examples + expect the assignments to have similar examples (however, some were quite long).

She was the marker for the class so im rating her as one, lowk in a battle with the lecturer about how to calculate participation marks. The course being set up wrong is not her fault, but sometimes she just marks very hard. answers emails quick and is very honest. Just wish there was more consistency in her marking. But slow at marking.
