rude, conceited and not helpfull at all. take her and you're doomed!

If you want to be bored into a coma, this prof is perfect for you. She talks like the teacher in the beginning of Ferris Beuler. The only time she shows any emotion is when she is being rude and talking to the class like they are complete idiots.

She is the reason I left the Biology department. I have never been in contact with a ruder teacher. She is completely full of herself and does not belong in a classroom.

This professor was a real disappointment. Her lectures were monotone and I discovered they were useless after the first exam. Gives pop quizzes that add up to an exam grade when attendance is low. Strangely she yells as a disciplinarian EVERY SINGLE class which wastes our time. I suffered for 4 months. DO NOT TAKE!!

She is an aweful teacher. Granted the class isn't supposed to be easy however, she is not useful at all. Felt like I had to teach myself the material the entire semester. I would avoid her.

She was very unhelpful in every aspect. Her test are ridiculously hard and the content of them is random. I went to class, took great notes. did the homework and read the book all to get mediocre grades and have a horrible experience in my first biology. I ended up changing my major because she was so awful! do not get her as a prof!

EXTREMELY DIFFICULT!!! The tests are SO hard! If you take the class be prepared to read the text book at least twice, show up to every class, study like a mad man, go to a few SI sessions, go to a few of her lab hours and come out with a B at most!

Honestly, she wasn't a good professor and I'm not just saying that because I failed. But she talks about salamanders a lot and tries to relate everything back to that and doesn't really know how to explain things in full. She never lets you know what will be on the tests. She'll tell you the chapters its over but she won't say anything more.

Do NOT take her. I struggled so bad and was sooooooo stressed majority of the semester dealing with her class. Her lectures are extremely boring and when you go to her office hours it seems like she could careless about your grade concerns, etc. I barely got a C out of her class. If possible, avoid her entirely.

Is completely unavailable after class or in office hours despite this violating school policy. Offers no make ups for assignments even with a school sanctioned excuse. She made a huge mistake in our gradebook and refused to acknowledge it. Her lectures are dull. She reads from powerpoints, that she refuses to share, and goes too quickly.

She is really nice, I am just not used to her teaching style. All the homework is online, but she doesn't put her lectures up on TRACS.

Honestly the worst teacher I have ever had, HANDS DOWN. Doesn't give us the lecture slides, she doesn't explain in depth well enough where the students can follow along, and she also gives a lot of homework. If you get her good luck, because you'll need it.

The lectures are dry and uninspired. Brutally unforgiving grading. One time when I was reaching into my bag for a calculator she stood next to me and stared like a prison guard who receives excitement from intimidating the inmates. It was perverse. I left Texas State to escape her. She sapped all joy from biology. Save yourself the trouble.

Incorporates her fish research into every lecture. Makes it painfully obvious she does not want to be there.

Avoid this prof. at all costs. Im going to put it this way, im 99% sure the good reviews on here were written by her because they all sound the same, and dont make sense. Her lectures are terrible and BORING and she reads off the powerpoint, so theres NO interaction. Tons of homework, and gives off the vibe that youre dumb if you dont get it

Lectures are very boring. Gabor's monotone voice makes the lectures MUCH more miserable and confusing. I dread going to her class because I know I won't pass. The LC and MasteringBio will probably save your grade. DO THEM. She can be very condescending at times which can further discourage students to want to do better in her class. Terrible.

hard class. if you are a bio major this is usually the "weed out" class and determines if you change your major. after getting my first D and only bad grade i've ever made I changed my major. these test were so hard i felt so dumb during every one. don't take this professor she isn't a big help anyways.

I feel as if she doesn't care or want her students to really learn. she doesn't post her powerpoints for some reason, maybe because her way of studying is the only way? which is her giving us an outline and trying to take notes over powerpoints she goes over too quickly for us to be able to write down what on the lecture let alone understand it.

I remember reading the reviews on this professor and telling myself, "I'll be fine a lot of people are lazy & when somebody makes them work hard they get mad." NO, I WAS WRONG. This class is very difficult because everything she says does not make sense when it comes to the tests, she's always talking about fish?? She makes you feel dumb & is rude.

Gabor does NOT allow people to access her powerpoints. She said once to a student," dont take pictures of my slides their my slides." Her lectures are very boring and give no outside information, she simply reads from her slides.

Horrible teacher, lectures don't correlate to any quizzes or tests. Can't teach. Is very rude and condescending to students.

Attendance isn't mandatory, but if you don't show up to lecture you won't know what you missed. She doesn't post her lectures online and isn't very helpful with a "your loss" attitude. She knows the topic but she is extremely lecture heavy and reads from slides and elaborates on photos and graphs from slides. Personally, I wasn't a fan of her class

Dr. Gabor is by far the worst professor I have ever had. I wold rather shove scissors into my ears than hear her dreadful lectures over salamanders and newts (which were never related to what we were discussing in class) She does not let you take pictures of slides, nor does she share them online. I have learned more from Chegg than her.

Dr. Gabor could be a great teacher if she actually cared abt her students passing. The class average for every test was around a 60 and told the class that it was our fault not studying enough. The whole class is just a long never ending lecture that makes no sense and just confuses you even more. The only good thing was the IA study sessions.

I was excited to take this class but after lectures/ test days I found myself breaking down crying to my mom multiple times over it. I can barely get 60s on her exams while being extremely involved in lecture/ SI sessions. She's stuck up & unhelpful to students who aren't a natural genius in this challenging class. Save yourself & DON'T take her

This course is pretty miserable. I found that you can get by even if you don't attend lectures, given that she follows the textbook pretty closely. However, the times I did attend lectures, they were long, droning, and she basically said a whole lot of nothing with a whole lot of words. I'd recommend extra studying or tutoring if you want an A.

She puts her class second behind her research, she will encourage you to ask questions and when you do she will treat you like you are less than her and stupid. Does not give reviews for her exams and does not seem to care if you pass or not. She will leave you thinking if your major you are wanting to do is really worth it.

I wish I had never taken this class with her as my teacher. She does not care if you pass or fail all she cares about is her research. She gives little to no extra credit compared to other professors and gives no test reviews that are useful.

When the average is 42 you know its not the students at that point. I have to retake this class because she didn't teach anything. I am crying as I'm typing this.

Can't answer questions at all. Like you ask and she has no clue what to say. Looks dumbfounded everytime. LAs are teaching the class basically and only good things are how long u have to work on the hw. She expects you to know everything before you even come to class and bascially just revising it with her. Dont take this teacher!

Her teaching style is just reading off slides and having the LAs do the work for her, and her lectures sound like Charlie Brown's teacher teaching (look it up). She is always monotone and only talks about the fish she researches, which trust me, it gets old fast. It's like shes never taught a lecture before.

The course content was fun and easy but her attitude towards her students was weird. It was like she was doing us a favor by doing HER JOB. Idk if she's being forced to teach because there's no way an instructor could act like that if they willingly were teaching. I literally have nightmares about her, she made me feel dumb for asking questions

Do not take Gabor for bio!! It's clear she's very smart, but teaching is not her calling. She's the most condescending professor I've ever had. Her lectures are very boring; she just reads off slides. I tried to get the most I could out of it, but I didn't learn anything.

I would NOT take this class ever again. I would rather shove a pencil in my ear than listen to another lecture. She can be nice, but teaching is NOT her calling. She's very monotone and makes the class not interesting. The class isn't difficult, SHE makes the class difficult.

I would never take this course again because the professor can's teach at all. She loves to talk about her own research rather than helping her students with the actual course material. Also her attitude, if you ask her a question be prepared to get a snarky response she can be pretty rude. I was my own teacher for this class.

Would not take again. If she isn't reading directly off her slides like a High Schooler giving a presentation she's talking about herself and her own research- not the actual course material. Not tech savvy whatsoever and has due dates all over the place that are subject to constant change. Prepare to teach yourself the course and have homework.

She doesn't help with assignment information, she makes you feel bad for asking questions, and she won't let you make up work if you have the flu, covid, or any emergencies.

She seemed like she was only there for tenure at this point. She didn't seem to care for the students and her lectures were extremely bland, boring and long. A lot of her statements about biology didn't even seem real and she occasionally started bringing politics into the class. Her credentials definitely should be checked.

When I was first picking my classes, I had no choice but to take this class because it was the only thing open. Still, I should have listened to these comments. This was the worst class ever. Professors usually are not good teachers, but not only is she that, but nothing she teaches will also be on that damn test

All I can say is…trust the ratings.
