Not qualified to teach higher classes.
He is a very smart professor and knows his stuff, but there is a definite communication barrier. This is the first grade I've ever received that was below a B.
He is a really nice teacher and really understand what students are going through. I think that he is the best for acct. 111. He gives you points for homework and class attendence. He test you on every two chapters. The exams arn't supper easy so do pay close attention and read the material and really understand it.Ask questions he is open to it
Very difficult to understand, makes you do the homework prior to going over material in class so if you are unsure of what you are doing and have read the chapters too bad, it won't matter, you still have to turn it in or risk losing points, he doesn't even tell you what you did right or wrong. Tests are difficult.
He is a little hard to understand at times, but he means well. He gives a study guide/pre-test before each test which is helpful (but can also be tricky, don't try and memorize the pretest). Tests are pretty straight forward, I would take him again.
An outstanding teacher, an adept in his field, an intelligent and wonderful person....
Very hard to understand due to accent. Tests aren't too bad. Take the practice exams from WebCT. He tries to trick you on the tests sometimes though, watch out for tricky wording. Very heavy emphasis on accounting principles as opposed to just doing problems.
Great teacher, If you apply yourself like a college student should then there will be no problem, the people that didn't do well in his classes are either dumb or lazy.
Good Professor. Lots of homework, but he grades easy on them. Exams are tough, but at least you get review notes and you know exactly what the essays questions are.
teacher is smart and know his stuff, test are hard, tricky. overall okay, but don't take this class if you can't commit numberous hours of study. he expect so much from you, like his class is the only class you are taking. its ridiculous, but do your work, and you'll do fine.
Prof. Liu teaching style and class format makes it very difficult for students to advance. His English is not too clear. He is very knowledgeable, but it does not help him a lot. He is not flexible and he grades very tough a 71= -C. I do not recommend his class.
WORST INSTRUCTOR EVER! Does NOT know how to teach! Does NOT care about students!Does NOT know what they HELL he is doing!SHOULD NOT BE TEACHING HIGHER EDUCATION!
Prof. Liu is very knowledgable about accounting. He is straight forward with the material and the work that is required. Going to class is not mandatory but is highly recommended. Just do the homework and you will definitely pass the class
He is a little hard to understand. He give out alot of homework but do them...they are easy points and it will help you on the test. He give out practice exams so look over them because some of those answers will be on the test. If you attend class regular and do all homework then you should pass his class.
This class is a ton of work because homework is due each class period!! But at the end, you do learn a lot from it. He tries to pass every student by offering extra credit & homework credit. He also gives out practice exams to help you. Not bad...
He is the kind of professor that will make your life miserable.I will wait an extra semester to take Acct 112 than take him.
Teacher is knowledgeable but the class was difficult. Attendance and Homework is mandatory. Do all the homework will help you grade significantly. Gives practice test. Multiple choice questions were painful overall, if you need this class and take Liu, plan to commit alot of time to this class studying, prepare to study intensely for this course
Class is difficult but it's accounting... there is a lot to learn, and Liu works hard to make sure you understand. Cares about students, and will try to help. There is a lot of work, but it's all necessary. If you are in any accounting course... expect a lot of work. If you want to understand and learn, take this teacher!
Prepare to work! Test are hard. Does give some extra credit though. I don't think he should be teaching Audit when he has no real world experience in Auditing, Sac State should hire someone else.
Prof has an accent but once you get past that he is easy to understand and works hard to be sure the students understand the information. Tests are hard but all problems are taken from homework and practice tests. If you do both, attend class, and make an effort to understand the information you should do fine.
This class is not easy. Test are hard and homework is due every class. Overall, I like his teaching method
His lectures are useless and his exams are very hard.
RUN AND SAVE YOUR MONEY. WORTHLESS. EXTREMELY HARD. TEST ARE PAINFUL. FAILED THE CLASS. HAVE TO RETAKE BECAUSE HE'S ISN'T WILLING TO BE OPEN MINDED AND UNDERSTAND THAT THE REASON HE IS THERE IS TO TEACH US ACCT; WE DONT GO INTO HIS CLASS KNOWING EVERYTHING! HORRRRRRRRRRRIBLE!
Only if he did take the same exact questions off your practice exams; I would have passed! First exam he did, second was completely different! The final; HARD! Studied the hm & still didn't help. Messed up my GPA and have to waste hundreds retaking with a different teacher. SAVE YOURSELF & MONEY & take someone else. Please!
He just reads the power points! I could do that myself; no really good way of explaining. Did all hm (even thou all aren't graded!) EXTREMELY HARD TEST. No curve. 400 point class = 3 test at 100 + hm at a total of 100. Hope you're really smart so you can pass his class. I SAY SAVE YOURSELF IF YOU CAN! GOOOOOOOOOODLUUUUUUUUUUCKKKKK!
ALL I CAN SAY IS HE IS VERY HARD AND GOOD LUCK! Better be ready for no life! I heard Audit Acct was hard but this teacher makes 112 really HARD! Because of him; I can't graduate on time. HE SUCKS! Went to office hours & he seemed like he was scared to answer my questions & puzzled to see me there. WHAT HELP!? No higher than D or F! GOOD LUCK!
The professor expects you to know the material for the exams. Although it is a difficult class, it is manageable if you put in the effort.
DONT TAKE HIM-- YOU WILL REGRET IT!.. WORSE TEACHER IN AUDIT - ACCOUNTING..
First off, this is a hard course. With that said, as long as you do homework and attend class, you should do fine. This is by far the best ACCY prof. I've had at Sac State. He explains well and I understood everything. But be warned, you have to put in the work to do well. Tests aren't the easiest, quizzes are ok. Work hard = Do well. I got an A.
Prof. Liu is a really nice guy. His exams aren't too hard cause he gives you old exams to study from and also study from M/C part in the homework. Some of his exam questions are from the homework and old exams but he switches and rewards the questions a bit. The only hard part is the homework. It's time consuming.
His auditing class consists of: 3 exams worth 75pts each and the final 75pts. Plus 150 pts for homework. Exam: 20 m/c (2.5/question) and 2 essays (25 pts). he gives 8 essay questions ahead of time and chooses 2 out of 8.
You just have to memorize the standards in order to get a decent grade. For all his exams, he follows a sequence for every four mult. choice questions- the answers will be any of the combination: A,B,C, or D. But they won't overlap/repeat each other consecutively for every 4 questions. Trust me. Sample exam is formatted the same way.
This class is somewhat difficult but very doable. The professor does a good job at explaining and showing examples that make learning the material easier. 3 exams and about 10 homework or quizzes (he'll choose if the class will have a quiz or turn in homework). He tells you about the quiz ahead of time and tells you what to study. Bonus points too
Great teacher for Accy. It is a hard subject but he goes over a lot of stuff in class with good powerpoints. Must attend class cause he collects homework to boost your grade. Have to study very hard for exams but that is usual for accy. Provides study guide and 2 practice exams. Would take again, onw of the better accy teachers. Has accent, not bad
Not an easy professor. Extremely hard to understand when he is speaking.
The reason I say this class is extremely hard is because he offers absolutely no extra credit; and with only 450 points possible there is very little room for error in order to get an A. The material he covers isn't bad...he is a great professor with a great outline, teaching materials (i.e. powerpoints and examples) and very organized.
This professor is the WORST one I have every had at CSUS. Not only can you barely understand him, he grades his exams extremely hard. He marked one of my open ended answers off because it wasn't worded how he wanted it. I showed him where I found that in the book, but he didn't care!
He is so so so hard to undersatnd. I figured to just do the read the book, do the hw, study the textbook website and memorize a lot. He does not teach or teach well in person. He should give this class as an Online one. It's really frusterating when you actually try to understand his lectures.
Attendance is mandatory because he will have homework or a quiz due; he will not tell you if homework will be collected, but he will tell you if there will be a quiz. His lectures are mundane & uninteresting; his English is hard to understand. There will be 4 exams: 20 MC and 2 short answer. He grades VERY harshly on the short answer.
Dr. Liu is an excellent professor. The class is very structured; so if you want to learn and you aren't afraid to actually put in some work, then you will do great. If you want an easy A and no homework...this isn't the guy.
I actually really liked him as a teacher because he actually teaches. The one thing is you have to keep up with the HW as quizzes/tests are based of it with some minor changes. Test questions can be kind of long with uneeded info but other than that it is an easy A as long as you put in and keep up with the work!
Good professor if you want to learn the subject. Exams and quizzes are heavily dependent upon HW so doing the homework is all ways an advantage. Not to mention 20 extra credit for doing HW. Does have a thick accent but is very knowledgeable and helpful.
Best accounting professor in my opinion! He is very organized and really cares. 3 exams, 20pts extra credit hw, and 10 quizzes. Study the homework and quizzes if you want to do well in his class!
3 exams (25% each) and 12 quizzes (25%). Everything is based on the homework which he goes over pretty clearly in class. Offers about 40 points in bonuses in a 400 point course. The easy points come from the quizzes because he drops the lowest 2 and you only need to get 5/6 questions right for full credit. For exams, study the homework and samples.
Professor is not easy, but he knows his stuff. Attend lectures and look over his powerpoints. He gives out two sample exams, study those before exams, and pay attention in class. Quizzes are based off homework assignment.
I enjoyed this class, even though it was challenging. the class was laid out in a structured way. His quizzes are homework, homework is extra credit. Study that and you'll do well in this class.
Avoid this professor at all costs. Lectures are not clear and exam questions are all tricks.
He goes over everything and explains it all. If you have any questions, he answers them. Do all of the homework and quizzes, study them, and you will do well on the exams. Loved him, he actually teaches. Each minute of his class is full of information needed to pass the class, he doesn't venture off into tangents that are useless.
Prof. not proficient in English, should not teach this class, unable to explain or understand questions asked by students 1st test 60% of students failed, 2nd test avg. 69% not organized in a week we were doing assigned reading in ch. 11, quiz on chapter 10B, lecture on ch. 10A. essentially this is a self taught class, read only about assigned hw
Very, very challenging class. Prof. Liu makes this class way too hard. However, he is a pretty good Professor. He is very knowledgeable about Accounting and is pretty clear in his Lectures. However, his Exams are ridiculously challenging - trust me you'll find out. Study for days in advance for Tests and study hard for quizzes as well. Good Luck
HORRIBLE class! Very fast paced and he makes all the concepts hard to understand. He also expects you to memorize all formulas and tables for his exams. We had 2 quizzes each week. His accent is difficult to understand. I am an A student but barely passed his class.
Took his summer course along and another class during the 6wk session. An easy A if you did well on the first two accting courses. 3 Exams non-cumulative. 10-12 Quizzes, Some E.C. HW assignments. Went into the Final with 100 percent thanks to the E.C. and ended up with a 98 in the class. He has an accent, but you'll get used to it after a while.
Took his 111 class over the summer and finished with over a 100 average. If you are confident in your knowledge of accounting then his class will be an easy A. A bit hard to understand at first, but you get used to it.
Professor Liu is a great professor. All his quizzes and exams are around the homework, if you do your homework (even if it's not always mandatory) most likely you will get a good grade. The quiz questions are directly taken from homework assignments, sometime with different numbers. Good professor, fair grading.
very knowledgeable and expects a lot from students. His 111 class was an easy A for me, but 112 is a different ball game. There are only 3 tests, but the chance to earn up to 20 points extra credit. DO IT! I read the book before class and is lectures helped me understand better. you will definitely learn a lot.
I took him for 111 and 112, definitely 112 is harder. There are 3 exams, first two are OK, but last one is hard; 12 quizzes - lowest two are dropped and there is extra credit available - 20 points, worth 5% of the grade. Professor Liu is a great professor but expect to work hard for an A.
So Hard! Grade is bases only on three exams and ten quizzes. Homework is optional for an extra 20 points (5% of grade) DO IT!!! This was a life saver for me. If you do not want 100% of your grade based on exams, then do not take this guy!
Tests are pretty tough. Quizzes are easy if you just study the HW probs that will be tested. He will let you know which one will be tested. He also gives out extra credit, so it helps out a lot. 12 quizzes but drops two lowest. Thick accent, but you will get used to it eventually. He makes it easy to understand if you pay close attention and engage
super challenging but you definitely learn, if you don't like his lectures the mcgraw hill book has narrated lecture slides online which helped me a lot since his lectures can be iffy
3 tests that consist of 20 multiple choice and 2 free response questions. He provides you with study guides that are similar to the exams but you have to understand the material because he switches which method to use on the exams. Homework isnt mandatory but if you do it you can get possible extra credit points. He takes the top 10 quiz scores.
I have never had such a difficult time in a course. All of your grade is based on 3 exams and 12 quizzes (lowest 2 dropped). His final was insane. He goes over chapters a week after you're supposed to turn in the HW for it. And by goes over the chapter, it's more he goes over the homework you turned in after crying in a corner for 2 days doing it.
Took him for both 111 & 112. Homework is optional but able to earn extra credit. Do the homework. All quizzes and tests are based on homework questions (with some items changed). You can miss 1 question on quizzes and still get 100%. Only the best 10 quiz scores are used for grading. Gives great exam prep outline & practice tests. Wants you to pass
Professor Liu is okay teacher. He is like a robot lecturing on homework problems. I had to self study the course material. He do not relate course material to real life experiences and his class felt all about getting good grades by memorizing few homework problems.
I took ACCY112 during the summer so it was a crazy amount of information to absorb in six weeks. Three exams, 13 quizzes (dropped lowest 3), homework are extra credit. Lectures consist of reviewing homework assignments. Though not required, it is wise to do them because quizzes and exams are based on homework. Study guides are helpful. Do them!!
tough guy, requires a lot from students, many home work and be prepare quiz every week. He really want student to fail and design the test harder and harder each time. The final is crazy. One of the hardest in all four. If you at the broader, ep 79.6, 89.9. He wouldn't round up for you.
He doesn't seem enthusiastic about the material, which made his lectures not interesting. A lot of students weren't even paying attention. What bothered me was the extra credit grading. We had to peer review homework for EC and he wouldn't give full points unless you wrote a lot on the paper. This was hard to do if the student had a good paper.
He is tough. Quizzes are easy if you just study the HW pro. that will be tested. He will let you know which one will be tested. He also gives out extra credit, so it helps out a lot. 12 quizzes but drops two lowest. He makes it easy to understand if you pay close attention and engage the interesting class discussions. Highly recommend this teacher.
His exams got more and more difficult each time. Like the other student said, the final was crazy. I studied for days for his final and I still had to guess on almost every single problem. I don't think he made the final fair. I didn't really understand his HW and EC grading (peer review). I would lose points despite turning in complete work.
He's a nice professor, but his tests are extremely hard. Most of the students has to stay until the last minutes of the exams to finish them. There are a lot of things to cover in just 1 exam, but he doesn't allow cheatsheet. Study hard if you want to pass this class.
This class wasnt easy. I have bad test anxiety and the quizzes were brutal, but he drops a bunch. Do/study the homework for extra credit and to do well on the quizzes and exams. He tells you exactly which problems to study. He is strict, but fair and explains the concepts much better than the book. Read each word carefully on the quizzes and exams
A lot of HW and quizzes. He makes this class is harder than it should be. You have to teach yourself apparently. Put your effort to read and study if you want to pass.
Worst experience ever. Lectures about broad ideas and hw is due before he even teaches the subject. Do not take. Barely anyone passes the exams, hard class to pass. I BARELY passed and studied harder than any other accounting class i had.
honestly I don't know what he is doing during the lecture. he is definitely doing something but I don't understand a single thing. + heavy accents. he requires us to do homework problems that we didn't learn yet but he still goes over and scores them. so If you do it wrong, you get points deducted. he make quiz out of those homework. worst ever
Worst professor ever. First time I have ever dropped a course at Sac State. Lectures about accounting ideas and theories while making class do large calculations on hw and quizzes. Doesnt make any sense during lectures, sounds incoherent. Sac state should really look into this professor. I dont think he himself knows what hes talking about.
Honestly, I strongly believe that Sac State should evaluate this guy. He has no idea what he is talking about in class. very hard to comprehend a single word coming out of his mouth. Terrible Professor! Sac State's reputation sucks because of professors like this guy. He shouldn't be allowed to teach until he passes WPJ or any other speaking exam.
Sac state should look into this guy. He constantly discourage students who got lower scores on the quiz or exam. He even said that he doesn't curve the exam because it's not fair to those who worked hard and got better score than those who didn't. what kind of teaching mind is this? just because students has lower grade doesn't mean they didn't try
Dr. Liu is a very well organized in his lectures. I finally got to understand many things in accounting because of his structural explanation. There are 3 exams, and at least 12 pop up quizzes that he announces beforehand and also explains the details. He gives a lot of review material for the exam that is very helpful. HW optional for bonus pts
I really like his teaching style. He puts the important points together so students can see the big picture of financial statements. There are 3 exam and more than 13 quizzes, so he can drop the lowest 3. He also gives for review 3 exams from previous semesters for students to refer. Many questions from there will be on the actual exam.
Seems organized but VERY hard to understand w/heavy accent. Material hard to understand during lectures. Quizzes at end of most lectures, hard. Most students failing & he suggested to withdraw & turn in final w/a 0. Doesn't curve exams b/c he feels those who passed studied harder than those who failed, HORRIBLE. 3 exams, 10 quizzes, 20 bonus hw pts
Homework are extra credit. Goes over homework before quizzes and that kinda works like review. His homework and quizzes are his exam. Study the homework questions and the practice exams and the quizzes, not tough if u study. Didnt like him in the beginning but he is okay. His lectures are clear. He is good at his job. Students need to contribute.
I really appreciate this professor. He helped to make the material understandable. He takes all questions seriously. I would recommend reading the material before class, you might be lost otherwise. I would guess this is the piece that people who struggled missed. he helps put it all together. He's tough, but it's good, you earn your grade.
Lectures are very heavy and a lot of material. His teaching style is not clear and more than half of our class failed. Although I passed but this is the hardest class I have ever taken. 20 extra credit from homework.
Worst prof. Doesnt care about students and thinks students dont try just because their exam scores are lower than others. Compares his classes and tells the class w lower average they are not as smart and points students out who arent doing as well in front of class. Wasnt helpful via email, sounded annoyed and said he went over it already.
Class is difficult but that's the subject, not the teacher. Prof Liu is very helpful IF you ask. Uses whiteboard to help explain. Quick email response, available in person. DO the homework, study quizzes, DO study guides. Exams from a combination of these, learn the CONCEPTS! Similar questions in exams but changes #'s or concept hes looking for.
Hardest class I've taken at Sacstate. Worst prof. Avoid if possible, will thank me later. Does little to nothing to help students succeed.
The worst professor ever, if the Sac State does not take these complains urgently poor students will lose trust on Sac State managment. He does not cover the materials and claiming he did, you do not understand his English yet there is no standard for his communication neither from Sac State nor from himself yet his class standard is flying in sky
WORST. He really sucks, don't take if you want to pass this class. As stated by another student, it seems like he writes his own "good" reviews on here, sad. His accent is super heavy and there's not much in the gradebook. Never had such a bad professor at SacState, take my advice and don't take him, EVER. It was that bad.
Worst. if your only option left is him, take a semester off. Heavy accents can barely understand, Tricky exams and quizes(exam average was around 50%). Doesn't cover materials, discourage students and compare class averages. doesn't curve cuz "it's not fair to those who tried hard". He doesn't understand your questions and gets upset when you ask.
I ignored ratings that warned me about this professor & I regret that. His accent makes it extremely difficult to follow lectures & his powerpoints are not the same ones that are shared on canvas. Quizzes are concept heavy and focus on the subject's relationship to I/C, B/S, ect. HW is easy, quizzes and tests are difficult. Avoid if possible.
Prof. is fair grader and willing to help if you ask. Expect homework, quizzes and 4 exams. Exams are multiple choice and a 2-3 short answer essays. No notes allowed but he gives a practice exam and study guide, also tells you in class what to focus on. Exams included re-worded homework, quizzes and study guide. Practice the example essay questions.
I failed his ACCY112 class with D last semester and retook it with Xiong and passed her class with an A. when I retook it with Xiong, I felt like I was learning completely new stuff even though I already took 112 with him. This tells me he has a serious problem with this teaching methods as more than half of my class failed when I took him be aware
I'm only 3 classes into the semester with this professor and I can already say that he is one of the worst accounting professors I've had. He does a horrible job explaining the material and he only explains a concept once. I've learned more from just googling the material than from what he's taught. Make your life easier and don't take him.
His lectures are just him going over the previous night's HW. Quizzes every class session- derives from the HW and has different values. Tests are kind of long but doable. Don't really learn anything from him. The book and mybusinesscourse is a better resource.
Skip this guy, he is a joke. I started seriously doubting CSUS for having such people on their faculty list. He needs to start going to school to learn accounting himself first and then come back to teach us. He is a complete waste of time.
Terrible at explaining material. Exams are brutal. If you take online he uses respondus. Study guide for exams are USELESS. Theres unlimited attempts but each time you take its a different version so its a waste of time. Students complained so he instead didnt give us one for the final. Does not curve. 26 quizzes/dropped 6 lowest, 24 HW/1 was EC
Quizlet/Chegg will be your best friend in this class ngl. Liu's lectures are sometimes helpful, but I recommend doing the problems at the end of the chapter if you're cramming, I noticed a lot of questions on the tests got pulled from there. Liu is also very reachable through email, which is why I like his class and would take again.
A solid choice especially for ACCY131 since sac only has 1 or 2 teaching this class. His lectures are somewhat helpful, but exams and homework are all administered through the book we use in the class so I preferred to just read and look at the questions at the end of the chapter. Kinda a lot of homework but manageable for sure.
though grader
It was a hybrid class, but attendance is not mandatory. 3 exams, and two hw and quizzes a week. it seems like a lot, but its like an hour of work each quiz. the quizzes are bsically like the hw but easier. only 5-6 questions. the exams he gives us a study guide for. you really only need a 60% avg on exams to get a B. Im taking his next sem for 131
This is a professor who really cares about making sure his students understand the material in the textbook. He makes an effort to be accessible outside of class and always tries to motivate students. He is very clear with explaining important concepts and if you take the time to legit understand them you will do well on the quizzes and 3 exams.
Prof. Liu is knowledgeable in his field. 3 exam, provide practice exam thats pretty similar to the actual test. but change the questions on exam that students not prepared for. Instead he should put all the scenarios on practice exam and pick out of them in exam. give extra credit when get 60 on Practice test record his lectures give good feedback
I took ACCY112 with him, and I didn't like it at all. To my big surprise, I have no regrets of taking ACCY131 with him. I liked how he explained new concepts and organized the course. If you read the book, attend his lectures, and do all the assignments, you will get a good grade.
Course is quite heavy but Prof. helped by turning some quiz into EC. I took 113 with him before, so I can tell he's better for calculative concepts than text based. Also curved first exam. 4 exam on paper. HW and quizzes on McGrawhill n Beckers. His lectures needs to be more detailed. quickly reply to emails, calm, sincere to students I Recommend.
Everything he gave out is USELESS for exams. Skip this Prof. if you could. His lecture is a complete waste of time. Really nothing could learn from him. If could not skip him, read and look at the questions at the end of the chapters. He is not the worst accounting professor there.
Too much homework. Homework takes too long and doesn't relate to exams either. Lectures don't prepare for exams at all. Heavy accent.
All exam averages ranged between 56 and 61 percent. Professor refused to curve exams because the overall class average was not below failing. Way too much homework and lectures were hard to sit through. Don't recommend
Does not let you use any note cards or notes in general for the exam. Homework does not help you with the exam.
His class is hard. Graded on hw (100 pts), quizzes (100 pts), and exams (300 pts). You really only need to get 50% or higher on exams to pass the class as long as you do all the hw and quizzes. Practice exams are similar to the real exam. Practice the hw and quizzes to get ready for the exams, the types of questions will be pretty much identical.
Hard class. So much to read. So much time was spent. However, it's not unreasonable given this is an accounting class and everything you learn here is super important for your career. Wish he let us use at least a flash card for exams. He says he wants to prepare us for the CPA exam but geez, we could all use a break. Invest in Chegg for this class
He is very knowledgeable about what he teaches. His class is structured very well and it is not hard to pass. As long as you pay attention in class and do all the homework assignments/quizzes, you will do well. Workload consists of: weekly assignments (usually 2 and they are small), weekly quizzes (2), 3 exams (final is noncumulative)
Professor Liu set very realistic expectations for students. Attendance was not mandatory but going to class definitely helped. Quizzes were sometimes difficult, but very similar to the homework. Exams were difficult but the practice exams and study guides helped a lot.
Professor Liu's ACCT112 class is tough, but engaging if you put in the work. Textbook is required, but Chegg and Unstuck study were lifesavers for exam prep. Attend lectures - they're worth it despite the mandatory attendance.
Avoid this class! He never responded to my emails. His exams are tough, and not to mention his heavy accent which makes it hard to get through the lectures. There are homework and quizzes due twice a week.
For his 112 class 60% (300pts) of the grade is Exams and the final exam is not cumulative. He gives you a practice exam and a study guide before the exams and they count 10pts for extra credit. Overall, its a well structured class with some difficulty due to his exams being pretty difficult.
As long as you complete your quiz(canvas), and homework(canvas), and still fail your exam(in person), you will still pass his class.
Get ready to learn from Youtube. I would not recommend this professor to any student. His language barrier makes this class harder. Accounting requires a professor that has good articulation and thorough explanations, this class did not have that. To make matters worse, we got overloaded with a cramming of concepts at the end of the semester.
Absolutely hated this class literally does not seem to care about his students. Literally gives wrong answer keys to practice exam JE questions... he shouldnt be teaching this subject bro
The class was pretty easy as long as you used the guided lecture notes he provided. The other negative reviews are not necessarily wrong, but I found Professor Liu to be very helpful. If you speak up in class to slow down or go back to a previous slide, he accommodates without putting up a fuss. Yes his accent is thick, but just ask him slow down.
