Professor Bailey is very knowledgeable about anything concerning human anatomy and embryonic development. His class is laid back, and he doesn't care much about grades. He goes beyond the textbook and focuses on why the subject matter important to potential discoveries in medicine. Very helpful, easy to talk to, and loves what he does.

I enjoyed this class with Brother . You have quizzes every class, but they are not too hard if you read on a daily basis. The biggest downside is he does not write his own tests for Bio 180. You are on your own for test prep. He balances this though by being lenient on curves for test scores. I would take him again.

I took a basic Biology class in high school, so my rating may be biased. He is a brand new teacher but is very clear when he answers questions. Tests are extremely tough to pass but he gave us loads of extra credit, but expect to really work hard for it. Great guy who really connects with the students. I would definitely take it from him again!

You really have to be prepared for this class, it was a lot harder than I thought it would be - especially for an intro to bio. But if you do the reading, show up and pay attention in class, and make sure you understand the concepts, you'll be fine. A's are definitely attainable.

the grades come from 5 tests, thats it. how class works is you have module reading with examples, videos exc. do the reading because thats what he covers. He answers all questions so the class is usually driven by people that do the reading before hand. my advise is to read before, take notes, then re right them after class. you will get an A

Brother Bailey has, from what I've read, a bad rap. I think he is amazing. He is by far my favorite teacher I have ever taken at this school. He is funny, personable,a and will work with you if you put forth an effort. I work so hard in this class and his lectures bolster the knowledge I obtain outside of class. He is amazing. Brother Bailey was a fantastic professor! This is not an easy class, and if you go into it thinking it will be, you'll be disappointed. He's more than willing to meet with you outside of class to go over material that you didn't fully understand, and he offers extra credit at the beginning of every class and I would recommend him to everyone!

All of the professors here at BYU-I say they love their students and will do anything for them. Brother Bailey is the one who really steps up and does something to prove it. He's an exceptional professor. He truly wants success for his students and will do so much to prove that. He teaches his students how to learn which is so important.

Brother Bailey is a great teacher! One of my favorites I've ever had. If you do the reading before class it really helps with the clicker questions (they're extra credit) and just with general understanding. He offers lots of extra credit and anytime you need extra help he is willing to work with you.

Take Brother Bailey. Seriously. Take him. He loves what he is doing and it is obvious that he loves it. He is crystal clear with what he wants. It is expected that you learn the material outside of class and discuss it during class. The second hardest A I have worked for. The pre test and the final are similar if not the same. Take him.

Brother Bailey really knows his stuff, he does can get distracted sometimes and will go on a tangent but gets back on track pretty quickly. The biology department overall gives tough tests and he is no exception. He does keep his office hours flexible and is willing to work with any student willing to take the time to learn.

All BIO264 classes are set up the same, same reading, quizzes, and exams. It will be time consuming. Do the reading before hand and write notes. Use class to draw diagrams and ask questions. Bro. Bailey has open office hours and will even try and meet outside of the prearranged hours if you can't make. He gives extra credit. Loved him as a teacher.

Brother Bailey helped me learn how to become a better learner, not just Anat and Phys. This class is tough and you have to prepare before you go to class to understand what he is teaching. Bio265 is overall a pretty difficult class; and each professor teaches differently. Bailey doesn't assign reading, gives very detailed lectures and notes on what we need to know for the exams. In order to do well in Baileys class you have to put effort into studying and asking for help. Bailey is always willing to meet with you.

He is honestly such a good teacher. If you are upset with him you did not work hard enough. Dont get mad at him for your lack of studying. He is so funny and cares. There is tutoring, there are study guides and he gives you extra credit. He has office hours. Do your readings, know your study guides and you will do great.

Shy students and slow learners do not do as well because they're intimidated. He withholds freebies from sluffers, so do what you can to be in class.

Bro. Bailey is an excellent professor. He did have quizzes every day but it was attendance was not mandatory. He sends individual study guides before each test and they are very helpful. Watch the videos and fill out the study guides before the test and you'll do fine.

He is a great teacher who cares for his students. In my lecture hall of about 80 students he was able to learn all our names and actively ask us each if we were understanding what was being taught. The class was tough, which is expected of a anatomy & physiology class, but he made it understandable. As long as you put in the work you will do fine.

I enjoyed Brother Bailey's teaching because he's funny and captures your attention. He mainly answers questions in class and teaches the topics the class is stumped on. The material is the same for every teacher in BIO 180, watch videos twice, take notes, and answer study guide questions. I did that and a drop-in lab once a week and got an A+.

Bro. B's teaching method is wonderful, he really addresses the needs of the students and holds us accountable to learning the material on our own. This facilitates real learning as opposed to lecture memorization. He is also more than happy to meet with students whenever possible and personally tutor us and answer any questions without hestiation.

Human embryology is a great course and Bro. Bailey teaches it so well. The structure he has incorporated into the class promotes a TON of learning. As long as you work for the A, you will get the A and understand a lot of embryology.

I did not get too much from the lectures but when I went to his office he would help me understand everything that would be on the test. It is a guarantee almost, if you will frequent the office of Brother Bailey, go to tutoring, and study a little bit on your own, that you will get a 90 or higher on the tests. Study hard for Unit 4 and others.

I LOVE BROTHER BAILEY!! He is the most helpful teacher I've ever had here on campus. You can tell he loves his job and especially loves the material he teaches. Brother Bailey crash-courses into things. On the first day of each unit, expect to come out of class feeling clueless. Then, after he reviews the material you learn much more than other teacher's who offer "traditional" lectures. Visit his office regularly, because he goes over the entire lecture before class. My favorite professor by far. I took his Bio 264/265 and couldn't have asked for a better teacher. He requires you to read and come to class ready with questions and knowing some subject material but is very willing to go over anything you have questions on. He goes a little more into depth than required to help understand how and why things work.

I took BIO 383 with Bro. Bailey in Fall 2018. It was a hard class; the concepts were difficult to understand. But Brother Bailey was understanding and he would let us retake the exams for half point back. The exams were long, written and takehome. Brother Bailey is a great teacher if you will work hard outside of class. His class and quizzes are harder than the other professors on campus, but if you can grasp the concepts he's teaching you, you will pass all the tests with flying colors. Love this man. He's knowledgeable, passionate, and real. Anat +phys is pretty tough, but he wants all his students to succeed. He's willing to work with you and provides extra credit if he sees improvement on the exams. He always finds ways to tie in the Gospel. His goal is for you to understand, not just regurgitate lecture material for the exam.

Straight up the best teacher i've had on campus. Took him for 264 and 265 right in a row. He is so tech savvy that he made the transition to zoom so easy for all of us. The dude knows his stuff and i don't think i've ever had a teacher who tries this hard to get it all taught. Spiritual thoughts too are great.

I had Brother Bailey for both Bio 264 and 265. I truly admire his way of teaching because he connects his lectures to the gospel. It's heavy material, but he actually wants you to succeed. His Top Hat questions are tricky, so I would recommend getting into a study group to work on them. I've gained an admiration for anatomy and physiology!

I rated him 2 years ago saying he's not for everyone. My modified review: he is a GREAT choice for PRE-NURSING STUDENTS to PREPARE FOR THE PROGRAM. Some reviews complained about teaching style, expecting you to learn on your own, and taking 2 hours a day for pre class quizzes... if that stuff is a deal breaker for you, good luck in nursing school.

Fankly alot of kids dropout because not everyone should be a nurse or a Doctor. People now of days dont take ownership for anything including their grades and blame the teacher. True some teachers suck but if your looking for an easy route to medicine or nursing then consider another career.

This class is designed to be a weed out class and rightly so. This is a classic course design, where it is up to YOU to decide your grade! People who give negative reviews for brother Bailey are not being entirely fair in my opinion and instead refuse to take responsibility for their poor study habits by blaming their bad grade on the teacher!

With time and effort, you will decide your grade. However, Brother Bailey is very helpful in class or in office hours if you need it. HE WILL HELP YOU. You just have to know what to ask, which means you need to be a responsible, college student. If you cant handle dedicating time for this class, good luck when you hit 300/400 BIO and CHEM courses.

Amazing Professor! At first, the class comes off as very difficult and overwhelming but if you view the material he posts on One Note and go to his office hours for the TopHat questions, the class is a lot easier. Do not let the difficulty of his class scare you. It is really fun once you figure it out and surprising how much you learn.

I was nervous to take Bro Bailey, he has a diff teaching style but I got used to it and I actually enjoy it more. This class is heavy and you have to put the work in to get the grade you want. A lot of people will tell you not to take him because he doesn't lecture every single topic in class, but for me, his class has helped me to not only UNDERSTAND biology, but also to develop better study habits. BIO264 is a very hard class! Brother Bailey cares and tries to help the best he can. If you put in the effort and work hard, he will help you to understand. I learned how to learn in a completely different way. I learned the hard way on my first test! Take advantage of the office hours and go to the Bio lab. The grade is almost entirely exam based.

This is the second class I have taken with him, and loved both. He does very much expect you to come to class prepared and then answers questions you may have. Ask questions in class about tophat, put the work in, go to office hours if needed, and you should be fine. My biggest advice it to read the textbook, this is where test questions are pulled

Bailey knows his stuff. He is super smart and loves the subject. However, he answers questions in class and you are supposed to watch the lecture online before class. Students in class could ask the most irrelevant questions and he will pop off for a while, which will produce more irrelevant questions that has nothing to do with the material.

Brother Bailey is the best at teaching BIO 383! He knows his stuff and makes this class very interesting and fun. There is a lot of reading and oral exams, but it was worth it all.

Professor Bailey has a unique teaching style - you'll need to put in the work outside of class, but it pays off. Utilize Unstuck study and the free textbook to supplement the lectures. Tough but rewarding if you're willing to learn deeply.

Bailey knows his material inside and out and backwards and upside down. He has lecture videos that are amazing. Study before class and then go into lecture prepared to just run through all the material. His weekly tophat questions are HARD, but they make tests easier. And he goes over them with you in class before you submit it.

His teaching style is a bit unique in the sense that instead of telling you what stuff is, he takes the time to walk through each process, each example, uses other examples to tie stuff together, and has students teach some of the materials. If you participate in this class, you will pass. Maybe not with an A, but you will pass.

Some people don't like him cause for his class does require a lot of work, However you learn a lot and thats the whole point of school.
