Literally killed my love for biology. Tests were unreasonable. What kind of professor puts a 3rd option for true and false questions unless you want to screw over your students on the exam? A) True B) False C) could be true. The lectures were interactive but he doesn't explain concepts very well.

He's a nice person and he means well but he deviates from the book and makes all of his own questions which prove to be very difficult. His tests are hard. Skipping class is not a good idea or else you will be very confused. If there is an easier teacher I would consider taking them over Caleb. His class is definitely a challenge. Uses iClicker.

Rounds is knowledgable about the subject, and his passion for biology clearly shows through his lectures. He is extremely willing to help his students, and wants them all to succeed. His tests are tough though, he will word things in a confusing manner. Expect lots of true or false questions, and some possible "might be true".

Caleb is a good teacher once you're used to the way his questions are worded. I would assume it would be way more difficult if you have not taken bio in a few years, however if you have taken AP or a previous course the material is not that hard, mostly review. Study clicker questions for tests and go to SI sessions they are very helpful

Not a bad prof, he is just often SUPER confusing . Questions (iClicker and on the test) are very wordy and confusing. He could ask the same questions in a much clearer manner. While his classes are genuinely hard, he does what he can to make sure most of the class understands- he gives difficult iclicker questions for the class to answer, and if there is a split, he explains further. Rounds is a good guy. But 152 is one of the lesser classes I have taken. Three tests and a cumulative final are worth 65% of your grade - all are convoluted and have trick questions. Caleb is a pretty good professor. Takes a lot of time in lecture to answer questions. Exams are difficult, best way to study is to re-do lecture clicker questions and UNDERSTAND WHY an answer is correct (not just memorizing the answers). Lots of TA sessions and office hours. Caleb is a really great person overall, seems really sweet and is quite funny. The lectures did not help me, but the SI sessions did wonders. My grade actually increased with the less class I went to and the more SI sessions I substituted in. Bio discussions were really helpful, and lots of homework to give leeway for bad exam scores.

I actually liked his teaching style a lot. Tons of iclicker questions which are used on prob sets and exams. Can be kind of sassy but it's kinda funny sometimes. However the grading of prob sets/reflections differs so much between TAs it is super inconsistent. I will have almost the same answers as a friend and our grades will differ a ton.

I really liked his lecture style, super iClicker heavy but it helps you understand the material well, similar style to Laura Francis. Hated the quiz/exam questions, super cryptic for no reason. Best way to study is spam the iclicker, quiz, and p set questions.

He has a bit of an attitude and rbf. He cares about student success, but it can be scary going up to him to ask a question. The exams are similar to questions he asks in class, but his study guides are exams from previous semesters. Some semesters, he covers things he doesn't in others, so the study guides are not the most helpful.

His rating should be much higher than it is. He makes everything very clear from the start and gives many opportunities to prepare for the exams( problem set sessions, quiz sessions, etc..). He utilizes the Iclickers a lot within lecture, but he does allow the clicker app version. His tests were mostly easy even when I didn't really study for them

Lecture and homework quizzes were pretty straightforward and so were in-class clicker questions, but as a non-bio major I have to agree with a lot of these responses that his exams were pretty cryptic and hard to do well on. I used all of his provided resources, studied for weeks, and still didn't do well. I wouldn't take w/ him if a non-bio major.

Has IClicker attendance in lectures lots of questions easy to miss even if your sitting in class. Slides are pretty bare. Explains concepts well but talks very fast. Assigns heavy readings almost every week with a quiz after, and a post lecture quiz. Is clear about what will be on exams and has good practice tests. Overall good guy and funny tho.

He is a diva. He kinda has an attitude and it can be a little scary going up to him to ask for help after class becasue of his RBF but he is really sweet and wants every student to do well. His study guides are from past exams but every semester he goes over different material so sometimes they don't help.

You have to pay attention in class to understand the material. He does go over things kind of fast, but if you go over it a bit after class and know how to do the lecture quizzes + iclicker questions, you should be okay. Funny guy he makes class enjoyable and he cares about his students.

Lectures are important, but they can make you sleepy at times. The class is easy if you're good at studying and attend lectures regularly. I found the discussions to be very helpful, and TAs were very nice.

Caleb is generally a good lecturer, but sometimes he can move a little fast. Sometimes his explanations for certain topics were a bit confusing, but still manageable. It didn't help that 151 contains most of the parts of bio I don't really find interesting, but Caleb still did a good job of teaching it.

Caleb is overall a good lecturer who cares about his students and likes interacting with them, though some topics weren't explained as well as others. Just make sure you pay attention in lectures and participate for clicker questions.

Caleb is a great professor! He's kind and cares about his students success! There is a lot of weekly homework but it is manageable, and there are extra credit help sessions weekly, which are super helpful! The TAs were kind and cleared up any confusion I had. Lectures can be very content-heavy, so I recommend going to SI sessions.

I had Caleb for both Bio 151 and 152 and for both semesters, I absolutely dreaded going to his lectures. This doesn't seem like it would be a problem, but he is PLAGUED by spelling errors and other mistakes, for every single problem set and even for the final, he has to send out a correction. He is a relatively nice grader, at least.

He explains topics decently well and uses iClicker to see if he needs to clarify further if there's confusion. Multiple resources are offered for people struggling with homework/material. Questions are rather straightforward, but he'll remove them from the exam if too many people struggle.

Very passive aggressive, especially when asking a question. Must buy an iclicker $50+, lectures were boring and there was a lot of complications with the iclicker program. The one good thing is that he drops the lower exam and makes the final count for that lower test grade if the final is higher, final becomes 33% of grade rather than 18%.
