Pick her! Pick her! Pick her! I absolutely love this teacher!!! I took RWS 100 with her and she was just so helpful. A really out going teacher. She helped me a lot and even going to her office hours boosts up your grade even more :D Definitely taking RWS 200 with her second semester
She is a sweet professor who really wants you to do well in her classroom. Some days the lectures were awfully boring but she gives you a lot of time to work on the three essays she assigns. The final was a presentation, which was pretty straight forward.
Really great teacher. RWS 100 with her revolved around learning to write essays, and she does a fantastic job of teaching and trying to help students do well on the essays. If you have the choice, you should for sure pick her.
She was a supper chill, young, witty professor. I loved how she uses satire as the theme in our class. It was fun, and easy to learn. She gives you readings, you choose which one you like then as a class do an outline. Supper easy class if you attend, and very approachable. I recommend her a bunch!!!!
I had her at Mesa College for English 101, and I loved it! My favorite class, if you just read and participate in class discussion, it should be easy and a good learning experience. Her prompts are very clear, and even if not she happily clarifies and answers any questions.
She is so happy and seems to love her job. I would definitely take this again. She's so sweet!
Best teacher ever. She is the nicest professor you can ever have. Her classes are interesting and fun. I had her class at 8am and I didnt mind showing up at all. She will help you if you need it.
Took summer course at Miramar college, super helpful professor. Responds back to emails and is really nice. 4 essays and couple quizzes along with reading responses. Enjoyed her class. Would recommend for English 49
Professor Cornell is such a nice professor I have seen in my life. She enters the room with smile and always happy. She talk to you and if you need help. She gives us 5 essays to write, reading responses and prompt. we also had 3 grammar quizzes. one the final week we had to submit a portfolio and a grammar exam. I would take her again. 100%
I loved Professor Cornell! She's the sweetest teacher ever and is really there to help you. This class consisted of four 4-6 page essays plus a final reflection, easy blog posts, 4 peer reviews, and one easy presentation. No tests! She really wants you to do well and gives great feedback on essays. Easy to get an A if you try. Take her!
easiest writing class i have ever taken, easy grader, always there to help and revise essays, gave almost 100 points of make up credit for students, ended class early always! Take if you want an easy A or B
She's super nice and helpful, and has good readings and discussions for the class so participation matters. You meet with her for essays for better guidance, which is awesome. You have group assignments that aren't bad at all, the final is a group essay. You also get chances to skip class and sometimes ends class early. Take this professor!!
I absolutely loved taking this class with Professor Cornell. She is very passionate about what she teaches. She is always happy and energetic. There are no tests, only essays. She is very helpful and clear about how she wants the essay to be done. Extremely helpful, merciful, amazing professor. I would love to take her class again.
Best teacher EVER! We had to read a book.. Approx. 2 chapters per week. I never opened the book since what she was teachinng and talking during the class gave a great summary. She's very flexible with grading and the most positive person ever!!! Love her attitude :) There's 2 quizzes, 1 midterm and final.. 6 discussion boards :) TAKE THIS CLASS!!
The best teacher ever! Not a super hard class, but you will learn a lot by taking it with her! She is so nice and cares about everyone doing well.
Class consisted of 2 quizzes, a midterm, a final, and a group project. Buy the book it's cheap and interesting. She is an amazing Professor! super passionate, soooo kind, easy grader, and she's pretty funny. Do all the readings and show up to class and you'll do fine. For her tests she reuses quiz questions you've done previously.
There are weekly discussions. Only had 3 essays. Professor Cornell is very caring and gives great feedback on both the discussions and essays you write. There are a couple of extra credit opportunities. Make sure you are on top of the weekly deadlines and you will get an easy A.
Prof. Cornell is my favorite professor ever! I visited her during office hours and she was very friendly and kind. Homework consisted of reading or watching videos and a weekly response on the material she provided. She also offers a lot of extra credit. It was incredibly easy but also pretty interesting in my opinion. 10/10 would recommend!
Prof C is the nicest english teacher I have ever had. I enjoyed going to her class because she always tried to make it fun and interesting. She is really big on participation but it is not entirely mandatory. Only 3 papers for the whole semester, definitely take her!!
Weekly discussion post with one response- straightforward instructions, 300 word requirement, easy & enjoyable topics. Did a good job to apply relevant and engaging material (knows who her audience is and keeps that in mind). Mid term was one of the hardest tests I've ever taken, but aced with a 96. Final was super easy. Several weeks off homework.
SHE IS THE BEST! She always replies to every email within 24 hours, has clear deadlines from the start, and gives great information! I loved this class so much I'm actually going to get a minor in American Indian Studies! SHE IS THE BEST PROFESSOR I HAVE EVER HAD!
I loved her for RWS 200. She is insanely helpful and so sweet and understanding! She made this class very interesting and even though we had to write a few papers she helps you through the whole process. She was amazing! I would 100% take her again for any class!
She gets back to emails quickly, she is super organized, her schedule is on point, there's a lot of positives to her. She's also really respectful and helpful and super nice. She is a great teacher to take. You will also learn a lot in her class, she really understands the subject and knows how to break down the info so it's understandable.
She cares for students, and makes the online class easy and organized. Just follow the checklists for each week and you'll do fine. Trying to answer discussion questions to the best of your ability will get you far. Also, for tests I found it helps to put all course documents and your discussion posts on a single document and search for key words!
She is such a sweet and caring professor and the material she teaches is actually interesting. Take her classes, she is amazing!!!
This class was one of the most eye-opening classes I've taken here at SDSU. The content was very clear and there wasn't a ton of reading to do. Only 4 discussion posts, a midterm and a final which were fairly easy if you do the weekly modules. I highly recommend this class because you get to get an easy A AND actually learn something useful.
I loved her; she is such a sweet lady. Her class is organized and straight forward. Her assignments are not difficult, small amounts of reading, and essay topics are interesting. She really tries to engage the class in discussions and lectures. Definitely take her class!
Discussion boards every week. Pretty easy class and interesting! Midterm and final are a mix of multiple choice and free response but most of the questions come from her discussion board questions! Quizzes sometimes, but straight from the notes she provides.
I completed all of the weekly discussion boards. Got 100% on both quizzes, which were VERY EASY. Didn't study for the midterm and got a B-, didn't attend any of the extra credits. Studied the night before the final Exam; A-, and my final grade for the class was a A- . Interesting class and easy A! Awesome professor; definitely recommend taking!
Took this class online for a GE and it was a great choice. Discussion boards are very easy and the material is interesting to learn about. Tests are based of material from weekly assignments. Easy A class overall and not much time commitment.
A decent amount of work for an online class, but not too hard to get an A if you do it all. There are lectures/documentaries/articles to look over weekly & then you have to write a discussion post 250-300 words & reply to 2 people with 250-300 words each. It isn't hard, mostly opinions and you get 10/10 for doing it. Only 2 tests, but they're hard.
Great professor. Really cares about her class, even if it is online. Always took the extra time to remind about deadlines and make sure all instructions were clear, which was appreciated. Just submit weekly modules which are mainly discussion questions and you have a decent shot at an A in this class.
Prof Cornell is such a sweet and smart woman! She really cares about her students and cancels class one week for every essay to have a one-on-one meeting with each student about their essay. She gives great feedback and is very straight forward. She is so positive and friendly all the time and AMIND120 is such an important and informative class!
Took her AMIND 140 AND 141 online course both great classes you learn a lot even though its online. Both required weekly discussion boards based on readings or videos 250-350 words and respond to a peer. Two quizzes, 1 midterm and a final noncumulative. Exams have multi choice, true and false, short written responses. Quizzes are multiC & T/F only.
Great teacher but course is still very difficult and a lot to keep up with. You really have to earn your grade and can't bs the weekly discussion boards. Tests are hard but not terrible.
Professor Cornell is awesome! I took her AMIND 120 class for my written communication GE and do not regret it one bit! If you show up, participate, and follow her essay prompts closely, you're golden!
Professor Cornell is AWESOME!!! I highly recommend taking her class, especially if you like a clear and concise online course with plenty of time to complete your work. Work load is as light as it can possibly be for a three unit class, but I learned more than I probably would have sitting in a lecture hall bored.
Took American History online course with Professor Cornell. This class will make you rethink everything you have ever learned about the American Indian. Informative class although it comes across almost as indoctrination. It has 6 VERY easy quizzes, 7 blogs and two exams. Not a hard class.
Very easy class: alternate between 1 blog post (& response to another post) & 5-question quizzes every week. I recommend keeping a google doc for all your notes & save your blog responses & quiz answers. No tb, she provides all the readings (online articles, videos, etc). The material can be sad at times, but it's also very eye-opening.
Discussion board post and quiz alternated by week. Midterm and non-cumulative final. Easy grader on all writing. Quizzes test material directly from readings, not inferences. Learned but also really easy.
Discussion board post one week and 5 question quiz the following week. You can tell by her emails she really cares for her students and wants you to do well. She's so passionate about what she teaches. Super easy A. Midterm and Final are worth most of your grade but super easy as long as you answer each part of the question.
Prof Cornell is awesome! By far the best online course I've taken. Each week there is a quiz (super easy) or blog post. The material is eye-opening and always interesting! She genuinely wants to hear your thoughts. The midterm & final are easy but quite hefty. Put in effort the whole class & the exams should be easy (I got a 100 on the final).
One of the best online classes I have taken at SDSU. The class itself is so easy and consistent; one quiz or blog post each week, one midterm, and one final. She is a nice professor and easily accessible for students, she also offers a lot of extra credit opportunities, but you probably won't need them considering the class is so easy.
She's the best professor I've had here at State, and it was an online class! She gives you so many opportunities to succeed and is really communicative with her students. The blog posts are a bit tedious, but do them and you'll be fine in the class because most of the blog posts are questions used in the midterm and final.
The best class I took since high school. She is really caring and super sweet, homework is due every week (she gives you a week to complete it) usually a blog post or a quiz, one midterm and one final, its all based off of readings, videos and previous blog posts!
Loved this class. It was very interesting and I loved to format of the class. You are given a week to complete notes and either a 5 question quiz or blog post and their super easy. There's only one midterm and one final. Overall super easy class and very enjoyable. 10/10 recommend
this is the second online class ive taken with this prof. she is extremely accessible out of class and truly cares about her students. the class itself is very easy the work is just repetitive. module every other week, and quiz every other week, a midterm, and final. but the grading is not hard and definitely an easy A GE!
Cornell was an amazing professor! She makes it very clear in her emails that she wants her students to succeed. There was no textbook -- she provides online articles for you to read which all were interesting. 2 quizzes and a midterm and a final. I took her class in the summer and it was very interesting -- no stress at all! Take her class!
this class is fairly easy and interesting! weekly modules online. you either do a quiz or discussion post. you do need the textbook! her lectures are fairly easy and simple to understand. Highly recommend as a GE!.
This class is honestly a lot of work for a GE, but it's easy. Biweekly discussion board (400 words) based on the material we covered that week. The textbook is needed to answer some discussion questions. Quizzes are pretty easy. Powerpoints are pretty short and sometimes interesting. Midterm and final is MC and short answer or long essay.
Prof Cornell was the sweetest woman ever! Had blogs every other week. The week there weren't blogs there was a quiz instead. Quizzes were fairly simple and they were given to make sure you knew the information for the midterm and final. Both the midterm and final were 2 hours long & used questions from the quiz sometimes. She just wanted us to pass
I have taken her for AMIND 140 & 440 and both have been great online classes. She is one of the most caring and sweetest professors at SDSU. Material was simple yet learned about the subject because she really is passionate about it. Take this class and you wont regret it!!!!
AMIND141 online with Cornell was very easy. Weekly modules with either a short quiz or blog (alternates weekly) based on readings (easy points). 1 midterm and 1 final. Course work is rather easy for college level. Cornell is very sweet and passionate. Very easy general education requirement class. I recommend taking it as a filler course!
Professor Cornell is amazing and a very kind woman!! Throughout the course, youll have to complete modules that include short articles that you need to read, videos, with Blackboard posts and quizzes alternating each week. The class is pretty easy, homework usually takes around 45 minutes in one sitting. Use Quizlet to study for her exams!!
If you just do the work every week, it is literally impossible to fail. Weekly work takes 45 minutes to an hour max. Either a quiz (so easy) or a blog post every week, one midterm, and a final.
Easiest online ever. One assignment each week either a discussion blog or a mini quiz. One midterm and one final which are doable if you focus on the study guide provided. Cornell responds to emails super quickly & is really caring. She wants all students to do well. Don't miss any assignments and you get 70 participation points too. Best online GE
Easy A. Make sure to submit discussions/ quizzes on time. Make sure to be very specific in discussions. Offers some extra credit for 10 points total. Midterm and final are NOT cumulative. Covers interesting topics.
I've taken both AMIND 140 and 141 with her and both the classes were very easy and required minimal effort. Everything is online - a blog post or a quiz every week and 2 exams which she gives you an entire week for as well. Super caring, she just wanted us to learn!
I took her AMIND140 & 141 classes both online. Easy classes, u have a discussion blog, a student reply & 5/10 qst quiz (all SUPER EASY). They're due every week but I did them the day of & took less than an hour. Quizzes & exams are straight forward & everything needed is in her notes. P.S watch the recommended videos just in case they r on quizzes.
Professor Cornell was absolutely great. I took AMIND 120 online and it wasn't that hard at all, just make sure you do the readings and do the discussion board posts. The essays are not that bad and she gives good feedback and wants to help. I love that every week she would break down what you had to do for the week -- she's very organized as well!
Professor Cornell is beyond amazing! She is really organized, giving her students weekly checklists for the homework. Odd weeks are discussion board posts of 400 words (+200 word response to peer). She makes the classroom atmosphere extremely comforting for an online one. Her grading criteria is v clear. I definitely will take her for 140 and 141!
Whether you're an amind studies major or taking her classes for GEs TAKE HER CLASSES. A breath of fresh air from other stressful courses. Her course material is interesting and organized to follow as an online class. Low key if you don't get an A/A- you really must've given up
I have taken 140 and 141 with Prof. Cornell and I loved both. The weeks alternate btwn a quiz and a blog post. There are articles, videos, or lectures to watch depending on the module. It is definitely interesting and fairly easy! She is extremely nice and easy to get a hold of if there are issues. Take her for your Amer. Institutions requirement!
Caleigh Cornell is the most caring person. She is the most ORGANIZED professor. Her grading criteria is crystal clear and you learn so much about history from a different perspective while it being low-stress and chill. She is a legend! She writes up Wellness Wednesday challenges for her students because she is that much of a sweetheart. 100/10.
SUCH. A. CARING. WOMAN. Cornell truly cares about her students, sends out email reminders weekly and daily when assignments are due. I took this online and got an A easy, not only cause the course was interesting but because I personally wanted to make her proud. I loved her through a screen, cant imagine how great she would be in real life.
Take this class to fulfill your American Institutions!! The weeks alternate between having a blog post and a quiz! Prof C is so nice and caring, and the material is not difficult at all, probably won't even take you more than an hour most weeks! Material is pretty interesting too, and she also offers multiple extra credit opportunities!
If you have the chance to take Cornell, GRAB THAT OPPORTUNITY! She is the MOST ORGANIZED professor at SDSU and she always responds to your emails promptly! Her lectures are short, but not boring and they are very informative. Her lessons really expand your knowledge about American Indians and the class is honestly so amazing. Easy A for a GE. 10/10
Prof. Cornell is honestly one of the BEST professors you could take at State! She is very clear in all her directions and everything is so organized in modules. If you want to take an easy GE, this is the class for you. Put in minimal effort and you get an A. There are discussion boards, really short and easy quizzes, a midterm, and a final.
This was my 3rd class w/ Prof. Cornell. She is honestly so amazing with her lectures and clear on all of the assignments she gives you. You actually have to try in order to fail her classes. AMIND440 is upper-div GE, so it's slightly more work but if you take 140 and 141, the materials for 440 are just both of those classes combined. 100/10 recomm.
Absolutely take Cornell over Nelson for AMIND. I had Nelson for AMIND140 and it was a struggle, but Cornell covers the majority of what you need to know for quizzes and exams without much trouble. She is also very nice and friendly, so I had a much better time around with AMIND141 with her.
I feel like everyone here is making this class seem like it's joke when I have WORKED for a B. I am typically a straight A student but Professor Cornell grades insanely hard. In blog posts and midterm exams, she marks down free response questions for not using specific phrasing. She seems like a nice person but doesn't make things clear.
This was a fair class! Sometimes I think the homework was graded a little too intense, but not that bad. I learned a lot but it is a good amount of work for the blogs. The class was made up of 7 blogs, 7 quizzes, and a midterm and a final.
Weekly quiz or discussion post. A midterm and a final. Nothing special.
This class was amazing, and this Professor was also amazing. Every Wednesday she would send us wellness checks which I thought was thoughtful. I believe this class should be a require because the material taught is so important, especially for people who dont recognize their white privilege
I really appreciate how clear she is in all her directions and everything is so organized in modules. Would highly recommend as an easy GE. Put in minimal effort, read/watch the assigned materials and you get an A. There are alternating discussion boards and short quizzes, a midterm, and a noncumulative final.
Prof. Cornell along with her TA's were very nice and supportive throughout the semester. The class is very well organized and she gives great feedback on every assignment. She is a tough grader, but if you read the book and watch the powerpoints you should be able to answer the test questions and discussion boards in detail, as expected.
An easy GE. Modules are all organized and it's easy to see what's due each week. There's alternating quizzes and discussion posts. The posts are a bit lengthy (avg 600 words) but all the quizzes are on quizlet. For the midterm and final, as long as you keep your discussion posts and quizzes in a separate tab they are easy to pass.
you really need to improve as a writer in her class. And do well on her essays. that is what mostly messes up w your grades.
Well organized class. Discussion board were graded harshly by the TAs so make sure to write a lot. No big projects and very light work load.
Super easy and actually interesting course material for a GE class. Either a blog or a quiz every week. The material is not hard to understand at all. The midterms are easy just use your blog and old quiz as reference material as well as she provides a study guide that really helps. Easy A
The entire course was well organized and given plenty of time to finish the assigned work. Blog responses are hefty, but all the materials needed to pass the class are given to youthe TA's provided helpful feedback and reasoning for the grade given. Informative Content. Great professor
Professor Caleigh is a fair professor in terms of grading and provides a reasonable number of assignments to complete each week. The questions themselves aren't too hard to find answers to and if there is work put in, one will receive a grade that he/she earns. Typical module assignment each week with a decent amount of reading and standard exams.
Suuuper sweet prof that checks in weekly and gives us words of motivation. The material taught in class is very eye opening and applicable to all our lives. Quizzes and blogs alternate each week, but they aren't too hard. Take good notes because it'll definitely help when it comes to the midterm and final. Recommend!!!
Make sure to read or at least skim the textbook for blog posts because some TAs are tough graders. The exams half multiple choice and half free response so make sure you have notes ready. Professor is really nice and caring though,
One discussion board or quiz a week, that is based on the reading materials, very easy, she grades very lax and would recommend taking this class!
This class is an easy A, but you have to work for it. The material itself is not difficult to understand, but the readings (and discussion posts) are very time-consuming. Prof C is super understanding and truly wants to see her students succeed!
I took AMD440 over the summer with her. She was a great teacher and genuinely wanted everyone to pass. She was very helpful when needed and always available to talk to. The class does take some effort so make sure to skim the textbooks before the tests and discussion boards. Overall, she's super nice and if you put in the effort and easy A.
FALL 21:7 quizzes all multiple choice, 7 DB 400 words and 1 reply to your peer, 1 midterm and 1 final. The written portion on the midterm and final are long, but possible. It is pretty much the DB questions re-worded. Just do all the assignments and quizzes and extra credit. The TAs grade your DB and they are looking for key words or quotes so try!
You dont learn that much about Native Americans and Indigenous culture itself, instead most of the material is regarding Euro-American colonialism and expansion into Native land. But again, you dont learn hardly anything about the Native Americans themselves. Material is extremely redundant and the substance is provided through a narrow lens.
No textbook use, lectures very simple. Weekly modules with other easy to understand readings. Two exams, discussions and easy quizzes that alternate every other week. She really knows her stuff and is passionate about what she teaches. Definitely helped me become more aware of other perspectives. Take her if you can! So caring and inspirational
Really easy GE with a good professor. Class is so manageable and flexible. This course consists of weekly modules made up of notes and blogs. 2 exams overall made up of MC and short answers responses. The exams themselves are not hard but definitely study for them. Good online class and will he taking AMID 141 with Cornell during the Spring.
Definitely take this class it is an easy A and very interesting. Cornell is the best she really cares about her students.
AMIND440 with Cornell is by far the best history course I've taken at SDSU. If you need to fulfill a diversity requirement or need a history credit take this class. It was an easy A but the way Cornell teaches and organizes her class made you really want to learn the content, I've learned a ton (and I'm a Kines major)!
Professor Cornell is an excellent teacher, I highly recommend taking her American Indian History course if you're considering it. As long as you make an effort to learn the material, you will get a good grade and learn a lot about Native American history.
Professor Cornell is the best! She is very kind, caring, super helpful, and always wants the best for her students. She is always there to help. You learn a lot in her class and it is fun. I enjoyed the class so much. She is amazing, my favorite professor so far!
Easiest class ever. Take it to fulfill your upper division general education. All you have in the class is discussion board every other week and a quiz every other week, one midterm, and one final. Material on midterm/final comes from quizzes and discussion boards.
Professor Cornell is amazing! Her lectures are interesting, and her quizzes and blogs are not hard. Overall, amazing class and you learn a lot! The class is an absolute job, and Professor Cornell is super kind, caring, helpful, and altogether AMAZING! My favorite professor at SDSU so far!
The material for the week is posted on Mondays so I usually got it all done by dedicating 2 hours of a day to completing it. Midterm and final are both online so this was a chill class. The discussion board assignments are a bit tedious but those are only assigned every other week
Responded fairly quickly to emails and had events you could attend and write about for extra credit. All assignments and readings were very easy to access and organized well.
Super easy online class. Even though it is online, the class was engaging and the material was interesting and not what you would learn in a regular history class. Class is just some quizzes, blog posts, midterm, and a final all graded by TAs. Most work is the occasional blog post, but not too bad. Great class.
Very easy class to satisfy the ethnic studies GE. Work consisted of an alternating blog post or short mc quiz every week with module lectures and other reading/video material. Usually spent 1-2 hours every week doing a module. There is also a midterm and final but they are open note and pretty easy to do good on. EC is also offered if you need it.
Easy A. Tests are open book. Lectures have all the answers. The only annoying thing is a 400 word blog post +200 word response every other week. Average for the 2 exams was like 198/200. Offers extra credit. 5-6 short answers on the exams, 14-15 multiple choice. No trick questions
There are 7- 300 word DB + one 150-word reply. 7 quizzes. 1 midterm and 1 final. An easy class just a bit time-consuming. DB questions are long. Quizzes are 5-10 questions. Lectures are ppts and are bit boring. Mostly teaches through assigning articles and documentaries. Make sure you read them for the midterm and final. Questions come from DBs.
Discussion boards are bi-weekly and can be long. Weekly assignments such as readings and notes will be quizzed on the DB and quizzes and will show up on midterm and final. Powerpoints can be boring but I could normally get the weeks assignments done in around 2 hours.
Took her over the summer. Professor Cornell is just so caring. 5 Quizzes which are extremely easy if you take notes and read. 1 Midterm and 1 Non-Cumulative Final. You also need to do 1 discussion post per module, which are 400 words on your own post and 200 on a response. Extremely flexible schedule. Great choice for cultural diversity req.
Summer Course. Super lenient grader. Easy A. Very caring and reasonable Professor.
This was my favorite class, everything was very organized and entertaining. She kept the subject matter very interesting and fun! The work load was the perfect amount and she was very connected with us every though it was an online summer course.
very easy class, def recommend for GE. she is very nice, good communication and interesting topics. Still have to put in the work with weekly discussions trading off with quizzes.
This professor grades really harshly. I got points knocked off for the littlest things on my discussion posts. I wasn't sure why she knocked points off since it was supposed to be me voicing my opinion, but she is a tough grader for a class that is supposed to be basic and taken for general credit.
She is so nice and wants the best for all her students. Such a good online class and really isn't that hard. There are three essays but she is willing to help you all the time. What you're learning about is also very interesting. You have a blog post every week that can be annoying. But really not bad at all! She is great, take this class!
You have one week to do a module which consist of different types of readings and videos then you either take a quiz or post a discussion post. There's a midterm and a final, this is a low stress class and doesn't take too much time out of your week. You can complete a module in one sitting
Her modules are very organized and clear. There is one assignment per week based on readings and lecture slides.
Such a caring person. Every week she sends out a wellness Wednesday to remind is to take care of ourselves. the reading were easy and engaging and as long as you read them it made the homework assignments easier. Tests were easy although the grading scale for the midterm didn't really make sense but it was a good class
This was my first asynchronous class. It was pretty easy, there were discussion posts and quizzes biweekly. Quizzes were pretty simple. For discussion posts you need a minimum of 300 words and you also need to reply to someone else with at least 150 words. Overall, this class was very simple you just need to make sure you stay organized.
Professor C seems like she genuinely cares about her students, even without meeting them. My biggest criticism of this course is that it seems like the graders/TAs all have different standards. Some things that I got full credit for in a discussion would not get full credit in an exam when graded by another person. I wish this was more consistent.
Very easy class. Would highly recommend especially if you are looking to fulfill a GE requirement. One 300-word blog post with a 150-word reply every other week and a 5-question quiz every other week. Not hard or very time-consuming and you do actually learn at the same time.
Because the class was purely online, a lot of it was just busy work but it was manageable. You're graded primarily on the discussion posts, quizzes, and the two exams (midterm & final) but the material discussed throughout was interesting and good to learn about. Cornell was easily accessible and she makes sure that you pass.
I loved this class! I learned so much and the perfect amount of history without it feeling so heavy and forceful. She really cares about mental health and only has one assignment due a week.
Fascinating information you want to continue reading and learning from her class even after the semester. Highly recommend taking one of her classes if you want to learn in-depth about Native culture.
AMAZING! I never liked writing because teachers never gave me good feedback or graded me terribly because it was not their personal style. But, she made it clear in the beginning that she understood everyone writes differently and was amazing in providing feedback to earn a better grade on the next assignments. 10/10! GREAT!
the material is interesting and i actually felt like i learned a lot (compared to other ge's where it's boring and you're not interested). she is very kind and understands that life happens. i honestly wish more professors were like that but they're not. i would definitely take her again!
Cornell's class is the most organized online class I've ever taken. She's very clear with what you need to read and what you need to submit each week. She also posts announcements and reminders to keep you on track which I really appreciated. Easy quizzes, easy discussion posts, a midterm, and a final group paper and that's the class.
I took this course for Summer'24 session S1 (6 weeks); very insightful and engaging for an online course with no online meetings. It is not a hard class if you dedicate time to reading the material, which is an average amount. A class worth taking if you're open to learning more about American & Native American history. Lastly, Prof C is amazing!
I never leave reviews, but this class was one of the best I've taken. Very straight to the point, quick with grading, and she leaves feedback on every assignment. There was either a blog assignment due or a quiz due every week, not both. One major assignment, but easy enough; can be a group project or choose to do it alone.
TAKE THIS OVER THE SUMMER! Really minimal and easy work but also very interesting and eye-opening. I feel like I learned from this even just in the 6 week summer course. Easy A and content I think everyone should have an introduction to.
I took this course over the summer, so it was asynchronous. It is a very easy class, Professor Cornell assigned a reasonable amount of homework and I think there were just a few quizzes throughout the semester.
Great course and she cares. 7 blog posts are easy to make meaningful and meet the requirements. 7 quizzes are straightforward. The project is easy to do on your own, but you can do it with a group. Being creative and learning the material is what she wants. The course relies on the concept "The Danger of A Single Story" by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie.
Professor C is very understanding and makes the material engaging. The course is manageable, with weekly discussions and quizzes. unstuck AI was a helpful study tool alongside the free textbook.
Super organized and very responsive, interesting topics as well. Overall 10/10 and all reading material was provided.
fully online class. professor c. is accessible outside of class and cares about the topic. there are bi-weekly quizzes and blog posts (discussion boards). the blog posts require lots of writing and responding, so be ready for that. the final is a project that you can do alone or in groups. very easy class if you are able to stay on top of the work.
Professor C is a very engaging and caring professor. The course load is not too heavy, it's followed by modules containing weekly readings as well as a weekly discussion blog or quiz. There are 3 essays spread out in the course. She posts helpful documents which make the essay a breeze to complete.
Professor Cornell made this course super interesting to learn and changed my perspective on a lot of things. There were no tests, only a system of alternating blogs and quizzes every other week in which you were given a week to complete (very manageable). Final is a group project, also pretty easy.
All material is given free of cost. Either there's a quiz due one week or there's a blog post that week and then it rotates. Very steady class and work distribution was just amazing and well paced. Not hard at all just review the material of that week by distributing it throughout the week before the quiz or blog is due.
It's asynchronous, no midterm or final, just a project close to the end of the semester which you can do alone or with other ppl, either way it's easy to do and there's flexibility on how to do it (like u can do a tik tok video, zine, google slides, etc). Overall easy course with minimal work, and the professor is such a sweet person, take it!!
Super chill asynchronous class! Work consisted of biweekly short quizzes or a blog post, and the lectures/other material we went over before taking the quiz or writing the blog never took too long to complete. No midterm or final, just a simple project wrapping up all the modules we covered.
Highly recommend this class. Asynchronous class that is very manageable. Discussion board one week, then the next week would be a 5 question quiz. The discussions could take a little bit of time but the mateirals to be able to answer the questions are given to you. No test final, just a project. The TA's who grade are easy and give nice feedback.
This was one of my more forgettable classes, but it was pretty interesting, and super easy. The reading and watching that has to be done for this ONLINE class might take you 1-2 hours per week, which is nothing compared to other classes. Just do it. You'll have more fun rather than treating it as a weekly chore. Convince yourself it's interesting.
The class is very easy and the material is presented in different ways to explain the history. However, the readings are quite boring because they are explained very quickly and don't really teach anything new about the subject. Overall, easy class but I would have liked to learn more.
Such a sweet and caring professor!! Class is very organized; homework is minimal, which actually helps in grasping the information better from the lectures and readings. She provides positive and constructive feedback, which is so helpful as a student. Truly learned valuable insights during this course and she also responds quickly to emails.
