Would definitely take another course with him. He's fair, patient, and wants you to learn. Likes to joke around too. Great guy!
I Hate math. I was terrible at it. But Calvin really hjelped me to understand. He was patient and encouraging at all times.
Make sure you stay on task it will help alot. Give him time it may take awhile to be comfortable with him but once you do it will be well worth it. I love him now and can't wait to take another class with him. And I really don't like math, whats that tell you?
Cool guy. Makes you do your work, but is very helpful if you ask.
Difficult. Tests are worth 50% of your grade. Nice man, but harsh grader!
I LOVE HIM. HE IS A GREAT TEACHER AND TAKES THE EFFORT OF MAKING SURE THE CLASS IS CLEAR ON CONCEPTS. THE WAY HE EXPLAINS EVERYTHING EVEN A LAYPERSON CAN UNDERSTAND CONCEPTS
Extremely helpful. He really makes a hard class tolerable and he makes sure that you pass it.
Not a very good teacher. He doesn't explain the material very well and makes things way more complicated then they have to be. Also he makes you do group work papers that are not well written and don't have clear implications. He's not good at helping you either, he just doesn't know how to teach.
Great instructor. Really works with you because he realizes we all arent math geniuses. Goes very slow and makes group work easy on everyone.
A nice, but slightly strange teacher. I had a hard time with many of the details not being explained, but most others didn't seem to have a problem. I have to wonder if he goes to the club on friday nights wearing his X^3 jacket, while doing the 1/X dance.
very cool teacher, very nice and helpful. Take this class with him if you like math.
Great teacher, makes everything very clear. If you do your part you'll do very well in the class. I loved being in the class.
This teacher is completely awesome. He is definitely one of the best math teachers I've ever had. He is extremely helpful if you don't understand something, and his teaching method makes it pretty easy to learn. If you need to take Precalculus, or any math for that matter, I suggest you get this teacher. Calvin ROCKS.
very easy, very funny, great class.
If you ask anybody that has taken the 400 series of calculus, 401 is the hardest. I took it with Prof. Greene and breezed through it. He has the best teaching style you will ever see. You can never get bored i his class. Take him if you can.
I LOVE Calvin! He is such a great teacher. He understands that math may not be your passion in life but he makes it so you WANT to learn it. Any one who can, should take him. Funny and easy to get along with. Don't talk while he is talking, come in on time and stay till the end and he'll be your best friend. Respect him and he'll respect you!!
will provide as much assistance as needed!! Great teacher, really wants you to learn the information

Good, teacher, very helpful, and always keeps you on your toes. His comments are often off-the-wall and are entertaining. Likes to make sure that you always have assignments due, and is strict with the sylobos.
Calvin is an awesome teacher!! His tests are reasonable and he teaches the subject well. I only took the class because he was the teacher and have learned a lot from him.
Great teacher. Very entertaining, and helpful. The only moderately negative thing I could say is that he spends too much time doing proofs than doing actual examples of problems.
Calvin is a very fun person, and teacher.Helikes to laugh, if you just listen and do your homework then you'll do great, if you have problems he has awesome tutoring. Seriously TAKE CALVIN IF YOU HATE MATH! I ended up really loving math!!
Awesome teacher. He expects you to work hard, but not unduly so. He's very friendly and welcomes students to pay visits during his office hours, where he is willing to help with any questions. He definately knows the subject and teaches at a somewhat brisk pace, but he makes it fun for those willing to engage in the topic. Do NOT miss lectures.
Very helpful! Funny! Keeps you wanting to learn more! All through highschool i got D's and C's in Algebra. Calvin made things very clear and helped me get my first A in a math class ever! Tests are hard, but if you pay attention to lectures you will do fine. Best teacher i have ever had.
Calvin is the ****! he is the best math teacher i have ever had. HILARIOUS. he is hilarious. makes calc enjoyable. take him for math...he doesn't try and **** your grade over, he is fair with grades. overall, gREAT teacher.
Decent Teacher
Great teacher - very friendly, approachable and always happy to help students who are having a difficult time. He knows the subject well, and is always willing to crack a few jokes to break up the monotony of math. His tests, however, were fairly difficult. But if you study well and pay attention you will get the grade you deserve.
Awesome teacher, very helpful, very clear. Definitely has the best interest of the students in mind. Can write math like most people write English. Speaks clearly and consisely. Bring a notebook to his classes, you WILL get schooled.
good teacher!
OMG!!! Prof Funk in the house. This guy is off the hook and totaly teach this ****. Knows how to keep the class going by putting little jokes in here and there to show u can have fun with math.
GREAT TEACHER!!! I despise math... abhor it, really. Yet this was one of my favorite classes. Prof. Greene is AWESOME. He totally rocks. If you need some motivation and a clear, quality teacher - take Greene!
He's a great teacher 'n all. He's clear at all times 'n he's always there to help u, BUT this class has brought me to my knees. The concept is tough and if you just wanna get an easy "A" I don't recommend him, but if you are after learning and feeling good about yourself afterwards and have a strong calc.base go ahead and take this class with him.
Greene is a great teacher. He make sure that you understands what he's teaching, and he makes math fun.
I have a few issues here. First off, the book sucks. Second, I think some of the test problems cannot be found in either the homework or the lectures. I found that quite upsetting.
I have to say Calvin was one of the best Math professors I've had so far. His class was pretty tough, especially some of the tests and quizzes. However, he had a great, easy-going personality and he always spiced things up a little bit by throwing in some jokes (good sense of humor). Highly recommend!
Great teacher. Teaches you math like nobodies business. Not very friendly though. He just comes off as an arogant, and unhappy person. Nonetheless, I recomend him to anyone taking any level of math.
If you already know the subject you'll do fine in his classes but if you are taking his classed to *learn* something then look else where. He's very delightful to students who know the subject well and rather rude and unhelpful to those who don't. I've thought about reporting him to the dean about the comments he's made to students.
Whoever the reveiwer is below is bogus. Really bogus and more then likely is an older student who sucks at Math PERIOD. Calvin is an excellent teacher who will work one on one with students who trully show that they care about it. If your just showing up expecting a grade coruse he'll brush you off like dummy below. A great change from the norm
He is awesome, but don't take his class if you are sensetive... he likes to make jokes. He explains the concepts so that I understand them, which is very hard to do, lol. He is the best math teacher I've ever had.
I had him for an 8 week summer course. His explanations were incredibly clear. Always able to answer questions and if he sees you're on the right track will help with quiz and test questions. Expects hardwork and will reward those that do. He wants you to succeed! Quite possibly one of the finest educators I have ever encountered.
I would also say I have encountered his rudeness to several students. He is very unclear and very unhelpful! Who likes turning in hw the day you have a test? I hate group quizes! Curran is a way better teacher.
I never did well at math until I took his class! I felt like I was hopeless with math and that it was way too complicated for me to succeed at until I had his class, and his explanations were so simple and clear that I got a B in a class that I had taken twice before in high school and got a D and a F in! Plus he's really funny!
Mr. Greene was probably one of the best math teachers I've ever encountered. He is a genius. The person below me said he is only rude to the people who deserve it, and that's comepletely true.
mr. green is very rude and purposely puts you down in front of the class. he hardly ever answers questions and if he does he makes you feel SOOO dumb. he is a donkey if you catch my drift. i took him 2 semesters...HUGE mistake. try curran. also i hear if you do bad w/green you do good with curran and vice versa
Mr. Green was such a cool teacher! I hated math in High School and never wanted to take another class, but after I had him my first semester I went back again and took another class. He is such a good teacher.
Mr. Greene is hands down the best math teacher due to his ability to make sure that all material is covered and that no one is left behind. Mr. Greene is not lazy and works many examples which helps the infomation stick better. Beyond his great teaching skills Mr. Greene is also humorous and respectful and all around a great person.
Greene is a thorough, precise prof, with quite a sense of humor. True, he prefers students who have --some-- proficiency at math, but he is always willing to answer questions and go over problems in the homework. Always offers to help after class. Thumbs up
Cool dude. I liked his class and he's fair. Smart guy.
Great Professor. Very Easy to follow. He is the best math professor that I have taken.
I found this class to be extremely boring. all he does is lecture and every week there is a test. at the begining of the semester the class was very slow and now we have to go through 2 chapters in 2 weeks. he has a very unique personality that i just didnt get along with.
Mr Greene is the greatest!!! He explains things very clearly and he will help you when you ask. If you are a jackass in class he will call you on it and the rest of the class will have a good laugh. If you want an easy class don't take Greene.. If you want to LEARN Math this is the professor for you. Greene is a genius, I highly recommend him!
I did not enjoy his teaching technique and found the word for word reading of the textbook everyday boring!
He lectures... differently. He talks very fast and higher pitched when he explains concepts and it is hard to follow. He tries to avoid talking to students, a "why don't you figure it out" attitude. Might as well stay home and read the book.
cLAVIN GREENE IS THE BEST MATH TEACHER I'VE EVER HAD!!! I NEVER LIKED MATH YUNTIL I TOOK HIS CLASS. HE IS A LITTLE HARD AT TIMES BUG OVERALL A REALLY GREAT TEACHER AND A DECENT GUY...IF YOU WANT TO HAVE A FUN CLASS WHILE LEARNING MATH GREENE IS THE BEST TEACHER TO TAKE... PROFESSOR GREENE ROCKS MY WORLD!!!!!!!
His lecturing is okay but whenever I tried to ask for help he was rude and even mocked me once. I understood fairly well though and passed a math class for the first time in a while. This class is decent just don't bother asking for help and he can get hormonal sometimes. His grading is biased towards students who are naturally gifted at math.
Pretty nice guy, but doesn't like answering questions or giving help during class. He is, however, a very lenient grader on quizzes and tests and you can still earn points on questions that you don't even finish.
Great professor. Very helpful (stayed with me for 40 minutes after class to help with an open-note/book quiz), smart, has a bit of a sense of humor, very clear in his expectations of you. I recommend him.
This is a really good teacher... I think he is probably clinically insane, but I still highly recommend him. I've taken him for three semesters now, and I think that math for him is not a passion, but more of an obsession. Take him if you get the chance.
He is a nice guy... does a lot of verbal teaching..not good for math!...mocks a lot of the students when questions are asked...not the greatest but could be worse I guess??! He is ALWAYS 10 min late to class...even on test days!
Mr. Greene was very enthusiastic about math. He has a set structure with one quiz every monday and one group quiz every friday. I found his grading to be super leaniant because he drops your lowest exam and quiz score. I would definately reccomend him.
The first time I took 120 I failed, I heard about Green so I took him on a chance. Wonderful teacher!! Hw is easy group quizzes super hard and tests are in between. But for me not liking math I got a B in the class. Very happy with this teacher. I recommend him.
Very good teacher, I hated math and never understood it until I had Mr Green.
Proffesor Greene is super helpful but sometimes makes you feel stupid when asking questions. Show up for all of the tests and quizzes and you will ace the class. DO NOT DO HOMEWORK IN THE CLASS OR HE WILL EAT YOU ALIVE.
Mr. Greene is a math genius. He knows his stuff and is easy to understand. But, I have had him twice now and in both classes he finds a kid/kids and messes with them. Whenever you ask a question he does not look at you and makes it seem like you're an idiot.
Mr.Greene is a math genius, he's a college professor so he expects you to act your age and be on time. He teaches as if you have already read ahead, i reccommend it. The homework is fairly simple, but if you take the extra time to check all your problems you can get a good grade. Show up everyday, participate in class discussions, and you'll pass.
Pretty cool professor that uses colloquialism in his teaching. For a difficult course he makes it much simpler than the book makes it seem. If you're taking Diffy-Q take greene
Loved Greene's classes for 2 semesters. I agree with other comments;be prepared, do your work, read ahead. But he is clear and TEACHES you how to do the equations. Dont complain about the word problems, (yea he'll eat you up) but they have been extremely helpfull now that I am in Stats and Chem!!
He's super easy to understand. I never even had to read the text book because he explained things so well in class. He does like to pick someone to tease, but its not in a mean way.
He likes to tease a lot and it is in a mean way
Probably one of the most boring math teacher Iver had since highschool. He treats you like you're retarded if you ask a question and expects you to know the material BEFORE the class. NOT RECOMMENDED!!
By far, the best math teacher I've had up to this point. He actually explains concepts and makes everything easy to understand. If you sit up front, he really likes you (as long as you don't act obnoxious as well). He was super funny, and joked around with the students, and even occasionally broke into song. Take his class. He's great!
This teacher is by far the best math teacher at FLC. This guy knows what he is talking about! if you ask him a question he can answer it there on the spot without having to look through the text book. It is not an easy class by any means but if you do the homework and study you should do well. This guy is seriously a math genius.
Amazing teacher! I had him for math 100, math 120, and math 335, and I did well and learned a lot from each class! He is the best math teacher I have ever had. I wish he taught precalculus and calculus I and II.
Awesome teacher! extremely helpful, clarifies topics, easy to learn from.
By far the best math teacher I've ever had. Swear he knows everything about what he teaches. His quizzes are hard, but they're 5 unit math classes, it isn't supposed to be a cake walk. Individual tests aren't as bad as group quizzes too. Attendance isn't mandatory but extremely recommended, if you have questions ask! Always helpful instruction.
loved him...explains everything very well..if you need help hes there....passed the class with a high b and i suck in math...great teacher...but attendence is mandatory...and do your hw
He is very clear when teaching. Plain and simple, you respect him and his time and he respects you and will spend time to help you understand.
This class was hilarious. He has a sarcastic and quirky sense of humor so it was hardly ever boring. Maybe that wad just my class. Anyways, very helpful and clear. Only used the text for hw and material I forgot how to do when reviewing. I recommended this class for anyone wanting to pass a math class :)
WE SHOULD CLONE THIS GUY!!!!!!! There needs to be more teachers like him! Best math teacher around! Extremely helpful and truly cares about his students! You can definitely tell that he loves his job and wants to see his students succeed. He is also very funny which made the class fun and exciting to go to!
this guy is awesome he has an afro and give you the crazy eye look when u do something stupid, his class taught me tons and his test seemed rigged because you knew the material so well. Highly recommend for any class
You could be the most Math-inept person on the planet and still pull a C or better out of Greene's classes--if you put in the effort. Greene appreciates students who strive for knowledge and those who attempt to understand, even if the student meets with mixed success. (Unlikely in his class!--excellent teaching style and an outstanding teacher.)
i've never worked so hard for a B in my life! typically i work my tail off and pull an A, this time i'm averaging a mid range to low B. he's helpful, but the tests are always way harder than what is actually covered in class. if you pick his brain for extras that would help, wish i woulda known that at the onset of the class
Easy A over the summer. The hard part was just showing up every day. Very nice guy, but he does not like to answer questions during lecture. He expects you to be prepared and will not hold your hand. I recommend!
This teacher is the best math teacher I've had! He explains everything thoroughly. When he teaches you something he puts problems on the board for everyone To do together and only moves on once he's asked if everyone understands it. There is barely any homework and the quizzes and tests aren't that bad. If you show up and pay attention you'll have a good grade.
Verry helpful
Very nice
Mr, Greene will help you till the cows come home!!!
Professor Greene is a great guy, but not the greatest professor.
Care that his students succeed!! But be prepared to do more work than ever before!!!
Speaks very unclear and uses terms very fast without explaining them. Does not go into much detail about the problem, skips steps and only shows you about 4/10 of the entire material on the test. The rest is up to you to figure out.
I LOVE Prof. Greene!!! I have hated math all my life and put my math req off till the end, only to get the best math teacher I've EVER had 2 semesters in a row. He helped me to understand math like never before. He is so helpful, very funny, and knows how to teach. Good man and good teacher. Loves participation. :)I wish He taught Stats
This class is not easy!! Although he is a nice guy, he will only teach you parts of what is on the test. The rest is up to you. He uses terms like its his native language and it's hard to keep up. Homework is difficult but necessary to pass the class. He gives group quizzes, BUT THEY ARE INSANELY HARD!It will take the 4-5 of you all class to finish
Doesn't walk you through each step clearly. Uses only examples in the book, so plan on teaching yourself most of it. Quizzes are way hard. Final was extra long & most of the class didn't finish it. Not my 1st or 10th pick teacher in the future. Green def not recommended.
I don't recommend Greene for Math 120. He gets annoyed if you ask questions and goes at a fast pace. His quizzes are ridiculous. I'm a 4.0 student and in danger of my gpa tanking with this class. Take someone else and spare yourself the headaches/stress/unecessary difficulty/tears.
There is no professor at FLC who I respect more than Greene. I took him with Algebra 2, Trig, and Precalc, and I'm disappointed that I couldn't take his calculus classes. He is a difficult teacher, but he wants his students to succeed. If you really want to learn the subject and apply yourself, then I highly recommend taking Greene.
I would recommend Prof. Greene to those who are good in Math. He uses mathematical terms while lecturing which might make it hard to follow. He makes you think instead of given you the answer! He is a lenient grader and drops the lowest score. Exams and Final are easier that his weekly quizzes and group quizzes! Respect him and do your homework!
Professor Greene definitely knows how to teach math the proper way. He answers homework questions on the board before class, during class/break & after class. He is very clear as long as you pay attention and take notes and you will for sure get an A. Overall one of the BEST teachers in FLC. I will definitely take trig with him next semester.
This class is a lot of work and it isn't easy but I would have to say that Professor Green is the best math teacher at FLC that I've had yet. The biggest thing to know is to attend class EVERYDAY. If you miss group quizzes your grade will drop quickly. There is no making them up.
Great guy, hard class unless you already have algebra II down pretty good. Very fair, stays late to help with VERY difficult quizzes. I got the feeling he wanted his students to grasp his lecture content, but he is a lil intimidating when you don't understand, very direct, not for every type of student.
over all a good teacher I guess, but not enough time given on tests sometimes which hurts your grade. show up because you do not want to miss lectures, if you do then it would be hard to catch up. hard group quizzes every friday..DO NOT miss any quizzes or tests!! hurts your grade. basically always show up, do the work, and study then you'll pass
Prof Greene was a great teacher! His lectures are thorough and he walked students through practice problems for each chapter. His group quizzes are TOUGH but if you do well on them they can really help keep your grade up. Try not to miss his lectures, study thoroughly and DO the homework. An A is easily attainable if you are willing to do the work.
If you want to actually learn. Do not take this teacher. He's funny sometimes though.
He tries to be nice but he goes too fast only partly explains problems and the concepts.
I have a large amount of difficulty pertaining to math. With all of the good reviews I read of this teacher I thought for sure I would learn a lot. Sadly, I have learned nothing and received the lowest grade I've ever gotten in a class before. He was awful.
He is an awesome teacher! His class requires work, but if you put forth the effort it pays off in the end. His lectures are very thorough, there are quizzes twice a week; one group one solo, but they always help in the end, especially for tests. I highly recommend him. Just know his class requires work, but it pays off!
Great knowledgeable professor, though he really makes you work for a good grade. Took him for calculus 1 and differential equations and enjoyed his class besides all the time I had to spend studying for his difficult tests. One warning though, think about your questions before you ask! Ask a questions that he deems "dumb" and hell make sure you know.
Greene is a great professor. He teaches rather quickly, but if you don't understand he'll explain more. Tough group quizzes. Do your homework well to be ready for tests... Pay attention during his lectures and take notes (!!!). Hard class but as long as you're responsible it's not bad.
Mr. Greene is a very straight-forward teacher. I was terrified of missing a class out of fear that I would get behind and not understand the material. Notes taken from the lectures were vital to my studying and doing well on the tests. He definitely respects the students that show up to class EVERY class and those that participate.
Great teacher and always willing to meet with students. Here is what to expect: Mostly every Monday you will have a two question quiz worth 20 points (pretty easy) and on Wednesdays you will take a group quiz that sometimes are pretty tough. However, you are able to use notes, your book, and classmates. Highly recommended. P.s don't miss class! :)
Greene is the funniest professor at FLC hands down and he is very helpful if you ask him. The group quizzes are extremely long and hard but he grades them gently, it's a hard class but Greene really wants his students to pass and will tutor anyone who needs it. I didn't expect to enjoy the class let alone get an A, but I did both.
Best math teacher I have had in my entire life. For 120, for all who need it was excellent. Very clear in explaination and repeats key facts. Take notes and study them directly to pass with ease. Whether you enjoy math or are just getting by, he will make you want to do your work. Makes it extremely bearable. Very generous grader in partial points
Professor Greene's sense of humor seems strange at first, but throughout the semester you become accustomed to it. His teaching style is straightforward and on Friday's he assigns group quizzes. These are hard and will take the entire class to complete. He is extremely helpful and even helps you out sometimes on the tests and quizzes.
Great teacher! Tests on expected material, do the study guides and you'll have nothing to worry about. Don't fall behind, make sure you understand everything along the way. He is very helpful but you have to ask him, otherwise he assumes you get it. He's very clear and repeats important things often. Write everything down. Awesome math teacher!!!
Green is an intellegent professor who knows the material and HOW TO TEACH. Main issues other than massive amts of HW and ridiculous tests are he goes through every darn step, even if its 1+1, and he packs so much material into the class when asked a question, he just blows it off and continues moving. Im guessing he has time during OH though.
Homework handout is due once a month, but about 75ish problems. Once a week you work in groups to turn in a paper. He handed out extra credit (about 4 pages for 5 points) but on turn-in day said he didn't have time to grade it so never mind. Thanks a lot. Is well known to give test questions he hasn't lectured on or are in the textbook.
Greene is one of the best professors I have ever had! You do have group quizzes almost every week, and the material is difficult being differential equations and all but his teaching style is very clear. I learned the material extremely well from him, just take notes on his lectures and you will be fine!
If you hate math then you will love this class. Professor Greene makes it very simple to understand the work and has an upbeat attitude that rubs off. The test are on exactly what he shows you. Unless you are not paying attention or do not care there is no reason you should fail this class. One of the best math teachers I ever had.
Really nice, funny,&makes himself available 5 days week for help. Explains the material really well&if you don't understand it then you have plenty of time to ask questions because the homework is due about once a month. Tests are hard but he puts a practice test online&makes the exams nearly identical to those. If you do badly, you didn't try.
the tests are really hard and he is not a good teacher. he is very mean to his students.
He is a nice guy, but has impossible expectations of his students. The final exam is worth 30% of the grade . Most of the class was still trying to finish the almost 50 question final when time ended. Does not teach what he tests on. His goal to get students do "critical thinking" comes at the cost of their grade. Avoid this teacher.
really hard class. worst teacher ever
He was cool and easy at first but things just went downhill when he gets distracted talking to other students that is not relevant to math. He started cramming everything up at the last minute for the final and the final was still hard. Never taking him again.
He is pretty good. The only thing is that he needs to have a doubt solving class (half class after teaching half time is also fine) before exams. But otherwise he is really caring and great
The best math professor I have had. Such a funny guy, makes you look forward to the class, and actually wants you to succeed. Dedicates so much time outside of class to help students. Amazing guy.
Attendance, and homework are important and warranty a A
If you like math and do well in it take Green. If not I would look for another teacher. He does not explain thoroughly and when asked to explain something better he gets offended and says that it's your fault you do not understand which happened many times in my class. Midway through the semester half my class dropped. Known to be a hard teacher.
He grades very generously he drops the lowest exam and quiz scores. Every Thursday you have a group quiz but can use phone and other out side sources. Hes also funny as hell, what a gem
absolutely amazing person would fail just to take his class again, homework is a lot but tests are ez and very comparable to the things he teaches and gives you
Prof. Greene is fantastic at teaching math. Explains the subject clearly and has you do several problems during class. Loves to see students participate, gives lots of chances for EC if you do. He loves to joke which keeps the class light. Easy grader, dropped your lowest quiz and exam scores, partial credit on everything if you show your work.
Prof Greene is an ok teacher, beware there's quite a lot of homework. There are group quizzes every week and 5 tests (lowest score dropped). Doing the homework is important for your grade but it doesn't help much on the tests. Use the practice tests that he gives you instead. I dropped mainly because I was bad at precalc and wasn't learning much
Differential equations is hard and it sucks but I managed to squeek by with a B and I genuinely understood most of the material thanks to Prof. Green. Always do the homework (I recommend getting Chegg study to walk you through tough problems, do not copy you will only fail the test, do the work). Tests are fair and quizes are taken in groups
Prof. G is awesome, makes it easy to understand, grades you easy once he knowns you, lets you use notes on test and helps you. The final was 30% of the grade thats the only downside to his class I would take him again!
Professor Greene is the best professor i have ever had. If you put in the time and effort and work hard and study, you will get an A. Ask questions and participate in class. I recommend not procrastinating and starting the homework as soon as the chapter is taught. He's hillarious and a genuinely good person that wants students to succeed.
If you are confident and good at math you wont have a problem learning from Professor Greene. But if you struggle at all he probably wont be the right fit. His teaching method is very fast pace, and he does not explain things thoroughly. People in my class also would raise their hands and he kept talking. I would not recommend him.
I wouldn't recommend anyone who has a history of difficulty in mathematics to take his class. He lectures at a high level meaning he doesn't explain thoroughly and show each step of a equation. His test are also extremely difficult but he does give partial credit which is a plus.
Honestly, professor from hell. Greene is funny and brilliant. Unfortunately he does not work with struggling students. test are 50% of your grade, final is 30%, homework 10%, and quizzes 10%. He likes to make jabs at students as jokes so most students that do not follow his lectures do not speak up. highly recommend any other teacher.
Professor Greene is the BEST professor! He is a literal genius and it was an honor to take his class. Yes it is hard and yes he gives alot of homework but it is for your own good! If you are lazy and don't do it then you obviously will not do good. BUT if you put in the work you will have no problem!
I have never struggled in math until this class. Hes not good at explaining things (which is important to a math class) and answers questions in a condescending way. I dont think he intends to harm, but it made me nervous to ask questions. I would highly recommend you to NOT take him if you struggle at all with math.
I struggled with math all throughout high school and decided to take math 120 as a refresher before moving on to more difficult math classes. I finally understood math from him. He gives partial credit on tests and quizzes which is helpful if you get the wrong answer. The lowest grade I got on a test was an 84 which is crazy for me. Great teacher!
I took Professor Greene for Pre-Calc and although it wasn't a breeze, he is one of the most helpful professors; Greene provides great detail in his lectures, he's always on time, he grades based on the amount effort you're putting in, etc. I wish he taught all of the Calc classes as well because he's genuinely the best math professor I've had.
I just received my grade and this professor is fair. He is a hard grader and lectures at a college level. There's no hand holding or excessive assistance. He expects you to understand the content and comprehend it rapidly enough to do a quiz. With all that being said, I received a "B" and I struggle with math. He is a hard professor but is fair.
Prof. Greene has been my favorite math teacher so far. Even with a tight schedule, he teaches concepts of math in a fairly slow paced way. He takes his time with the class. I also loved being able to share quiz taking with a group; I learned a lot from the other students and felt happy knowing that I had a team and help with my quiz before a test.
Greene is phenomenal. He knows math so well and lets you use whatever shortcuts you need, whatever makes you understand. He's cool if you eating and doing homework in class. Office hours are fantastic. I can't recommend him enough. The only thing I would say against him is that he works really fast. But for me, that's a pro.
He is amazing and very clear. Good at rating a class and adjusting lessons and grading accordingly. Has a different way of teaching math that may make it easier or more confusing but I found him super informational and on point. Would recommend for someone who isnt scared to do homework and he allows a page of notes for the tests :)
Prof. Greene Is a great teacher, he is chill, honest, and easy-going. Math is not my strong subject and this class was very difficult for me but he does try to do everything he can to help you. He lets you have notes on exams, quizzes are open note and book, he does group quizzes. In the end he drops your lowest test and exam. Good lectures!
Ive taken Professor Greene twice and I think hes an amazing teacher. He really made math easy for me to grasp even though its not my strong suit. Hes also pretty hilarious which helps keep the lectures interesting and is interested in helping you if youre making an obvious effort. Would definitely take him again.
I highly recommend this professor if you struggle at math like I do. He grades for partial credit and lets you use a page of notes on tests. You'll still have to work hard, but it's doable.
He teaches well, in class before COVID he would give good detailed lectures. However after moving to online, he didn't bother to teach us. We had a 1 hour zoom session in which he would answer q's and that was it. Also when asked about tests he said he would make it easier and shorter and give 5 hours. The tests needed the full 5 hours to be done.
One of the best math profs. Take him, just don't try the extra credit. He goes a little too long about proofs sometimes but he is great.
Greene is a great teacher especially for math 10/10 would take again
Prof. Greene did not teach our class. We are online because of COVID, so he rarely posts notes to Canvas. He gives us weekly quizzes without teaching us the content, and even when he posts notes they are not helpful. We have an exam in 2 days on 5 sections, and he has only posted one section of notes. We have to teach ourselves, he is no help.
Pre-Covid it sounds like he was great. After COVID maybe not. The course is self taught. He posted very old lecture videos that didnt numerically correspond with the sections we had in the book. He even says that he doesnt really know how to use zoom, so I didnt feel he was accessible. Im an A student but ended up dropping. Wasnt worth my time
Professor Greene was one of the most helpful math teachers I've taken. He explained the material so well that I didn't even need the office hours, and his humor was great. Even with the class having to transition online in the middle of the semester due to Covid, he still kept us going. I wish I could take him for Calculus!
I sent him full 2 pages email and he emailed me back with one sentence. he doesn't care.
Don't take Prof for online. Only accessible 3 hours a week total for office hours, posts old videos, doesn't tell you what problems you get wrong on quizzes/exams. You're pretty much on your own. I even had to request to be added to another class to get good lectures in the topics so I wouldn't fail. Exams and quizzes are pretty hard too.
Might've been good in-person but don't take online. Quizzes every week and tests every 3weeks along w/HW. Quizzes are hard enough to be exams and tests are on a whole 'nother level. Posts lectures and notes on Canvas, but some chapters are missing. Lecture videos can be vague and incomplete. And to top it all off office hours are limited.
3.5. Didn't answer my last email, but every other time I had math questions he gave simple answers. Exam days were busy. Homework is due the same day you get the problems so don't fall behind. No lectures but instructional videos related to the textbook were very helpful. What's due each week is shown in the Assignments tab on Canvas, not Modules.
Professor Greene gives some of the best lectures I've ever had for a math class. He's very open to questions during class and will help you with homework. Grading is fairly generous and relatively fast. YOU CAN NEVER MISS CLASS. That is the only downside, he doesn't post any lectures or material on canvas so you must pay attention to lectures.
My favorite math teacher I've ever had. He made it very easy to ask questions, very generous grading, and is a fun professor.
Great teacher!
Awesome human being!
Best math teacher I have had. Easy to understand and helps students the best he can. Recommend to anyone. Overall great teacher.
Was not helpful when I had questions. The only way to access him for help was through email, and his responses would be curt and short without details to help with learning a concept. I thought he was rude, and he made me feel stupid. I dropped the class and took it the next semester with a great professor, where I was able to earn an A.
The professor makes it hard not gonna lie. I tried predicting what is going to be on the quizzes, but at this point I think unless you study IN ADVANCE there is no way you're going to do those quizzes easily. The exams have practice exams, so you can prepare. Yes, he is tough, but as long as you're curious about math this professor is the best
Really good teacher!
6 week DE course is not for faint-of-heart. It would have been more manageable during regular semester. Group quiz's are the hardest by design. 3 test, one dropped. 3 group quiz, one drop. He has practice exams that are fairly similar to test and they are very helpful. His grading is very fair with the tests and final.
Professor Greene is a tough but fair grader. The class is challenging, but he makes it engaging. Using the textbook, attending lectures, and trying unstuck ai for practice problems helped me stay on top of the material and earn a solid grade.
super test heavy
I took his summer MATH 335. He was nice/funny and answer any question you have about lectures/homework in class. Lot of homework but prolly cuz it was a 8 week course. He let us use notes on our quizzes and cheat sheets on tests. The final was too long but he cut the last 2 questions since most people didn't get to it which helped everyone's grades
Great teacher for preparation towards higher level math classes.
About 50 percent of your grade rests on the group quizzes. I got a bad group who consistently received about 80/100 on quizzes, dragging my grade down. Little to no extra credit offered. This class is good for learning, but do not take if you need A's to get into a UC/State college.
took him over the summer for DE and though the lectures were long he did a good job of explaining everything. lots of hw but they were all very helpful preparing you for the group quizzes and exams
Awkward funny guy. Group test are a risk if you get a “bad” group. Gives partial credit for most work. Don't take him if you're not good at math. His style is confusing/fast paced. Homework is due every 3 weeks with test. 150+ questions each(not for procrastinators). Lets you use notes on test. I didn't do well by my fault, the homework's too much.
I took him for MATH375 last semester. Lectures were about 2 hours. Short individual quizzes, group quizzes, and 4-5 tests. If you get a problem wrong, he'll finish it correctly or put the right answer for you which is nice. Timely grader. Tests weren't too difficult if you listened and did homework. During office hours he explains things in depth.
My favorite math professor at FLC. Lectures were great and extremely informative. I did not like group quizzes as deadwood partners dropped my grade consistently, getting low grades on those. Tests were not very hard average of an 80 or so per test. Lots of homework spread out for three to four weeks. I would definitely take this class for DE.
Such an amazing math teacher. Explains everything so well and over and over no matter what to make sure everyone gets it.
Professor Greene is a great teacher. If you put in effort and want to do well, you will. He explains material clearly and office hours offer very helpful one-on-one support. He's also very funny and keeps class fun. Highly recommend if you care about learning and your grade.
