I think this is his first year teaching and still he is the best teacher i've had at Langara.

I like the newspaper articles that he stats with. Helpful and better teacher then my first bio instructor. But grade still sucks :(

Good notes.

He's a great teacher. Who cares if he reads straight from the overhead. He still adds important stuff. The best thing about his class is he hands out GREAT notes. 90% of what you need to know is right there. You don't need to guess what is important.

Having overhead notes for the basis of the class gives you a very clear guide of what you are expected to know for the course. If you study the notes, and attend class for additional info, you will do quite well.

text book is optional in his class. quite helpful notes, although more information won't hurt. overall an easy marker and tests are very reasonable. don't expect to learn too much in his lecture, you probably won't.

The course notes are great, clear and to the point. Seems genuinely interested in seeing that his students do well. Very nice guy to boot!

I disagree with most of the negative comments - they probably just did poorly and are ranting ;) This was the first time I have ever taken biology, and I have to say I enjoyed his teaching style, note taking system, and learned a lot from the lectures.

I don't understand how students can do poorly in his class. He teaches THROUGH his own overhead notes. Who cares if he reads off them...he wrote the notes, and that's what you need to know for the course. Study your notes, then do really well in tests.

New to the game of lecturing as he was a lab teacher for some time. Fantastic lecture style and willing to help whatever it takes attitude. Just show you are interested.

Generally a good prof.; however, the note taking is extremely boring. Exams are quite easy if you review his notes. Gives reviews of the labs before the lab exams, and these reviews are really helpful. Overall, happy to have chosen him as my prof.

he is a great teacher ever! there are 2 midterms n 1 final n 3 quizes! you will get high marks if u study his notes! the exams are easy!!!

To much evolution. He beleive that you have to believe in evolution to be a biologist. Doesn't beleive in Christian science. He really believe the earth is older than 6000 years, and will mark you wrong if you say so on a test. Funny class though, clear e

the class is kinda borring, but he explains stuff very well. You dont have a lot to do in his class, and class becomes exciting because he's HOT!I would recommend on taking him to everyone!

All the 'hard stuff' is explained very well and repeatedly. Exams based on notes and lectures, straight forward. A fast pace you have to get used to (not hard, just fast). Excellent teacher to have, tries hard to make the class bare-able. Watch out for the lab(exams) that come with this class.

Cam is the hottest man in the college! His notes are exactly what the tests will be on. So just read the notes, and you'll get an A.

Cam made Langara more appealing. There should be more teachers like him. Best class ever!

This teacher gives no surprises. The notes that he gives you and the lectures that he gives you are all that his exams will be on. No surprises. So if you study his material, and go to his classes, there's no reason you can't pull off an A.

Cam's a great teacher. Pay attention, study the notes and you'll ace the course. He looks stuff up for you if he doesn't know the answer as well. A fair marker, a clear and interesting speaker. He also takes time to examine ethical arguements about contreversial issues like GMOs, necessary.

Excellent teacher, always willing to help out! Tests are fair. He makes the class fun and his notes are clear and easy to understand! All and all hes a great instructor!!!

Cam is smart, nice, and interesting to listen to. Notes make the course easier. You think he just reads? Compare to Don McDonald (bio teacher who doesn't explain notes at all, just reads through super fast). Bad grades reflect lazy students not a bad teacher. Also, he's young so give him a break.

Cam is a good teacher. he will be the first to admit he doesn't know and will find out the answer for you. he takes the time to make sure you are understanding the material that you will be tested on. This class is an overview, he touches on all apects and give a good base for future biology.

Cam knows that biology is a challenging course, and helps by telling you exactly the level of detail you need to know about subjects. His lectures are about as interesting as you could hope an instructor to make them, and is an excellent public speaker. All in all, Cam has a very reasonable expectation of the level of work required for an A.

cam is pretty nice teacher! he's kind of speedy when lecturing but his notes are clear and his tests have no surprises. he's also very hot! that makes bio class a whole lot better!

very fuunny teacher. he is very easy going. His exams are ok, not too easy and not too hard. if you listen in class and study the notes, you will get a very good mark.

Easygoing, pleasant, and entertaining. He gives clear direction as to what he expects, no surprises. Offers advice regarding the course and potential future directions for coursework. Definitely recommend. And yes, as a bonus, he's attractive!

Cam is a wonderful teacher! <who will hunt spotted owls but only with his camera> If he knows you are honestly making an effort to learn he will go out of his way to help you.

Very nice teacher, organized, helpful. I recommend taking his class. Tests are based on his notes. But be aware that lab tests can lower your marks significantly no matter what teacher or what class you take.Study and you will be ok!

Good teacher, lots of notes, well organized. Funny, understandable, clear, awesome instructor. Bio is a demanding course, lots of concepts, theories, and notes. Cam does an excellent job of preparing you a foundation of what is necessary for a Biological field. Attend class, read, take notes and study and you shall do fine. Lab is a different story

Cam is a really good teacher. He speaks and explains the lessons clearly. There's a few things that he didn't know but it's mostly higher bio. He's very helpful and gives fair exams, just make sure to study for those. His exams are from the notes & the notes will be easier to understand if you come to class. Recommended.

I liked Cam a lot. He was way better than the person I had for 1115. Straight forward. Entertaining. Pretty interesting.

He's a good teacher who really loves biology. He's very relaxed, nice and entertaining which helps during the two hour lectures. His notes are very long and ramble but his exams are really easy. Just know your notes well and you'll be fine.

Cam is a great guy and a great prof. His first year bio course is a piece of cake; study the notes and you'll be fine. No surprises with him! He keeps you entertained during lecture with his stories, never straying too far from class topics. You'd be crazy not to take a class with him.

Does this guy really need any more great things said about him. If you can't do well in his class its your own fault.

Cam is a very easy-going prof, approachable and laid-back. Lecture notes mostly printed and handed out in class with fill in the blanks. Some exam q's were a little unfair (not really covered in lec), but he did mark those as bonus. Really nice, and pretty easy to get a good grade. Fairly lenient with marking and accepting late assignments.

Fantastic teacher! I took his class before I took 1118 b/c I heard such great things about him. I was not disappointed! It inspired me to take 1118 (taught by somebody else), which I was not nearly as happy with. He really makes the class.

Definitely my favourite prof overall. He's laid-back, and clear on the material that he teaches us. I'll be taking more of his classes for sure.

Such a patient guy! His notes + a bit of textbook should get you through the course pretty easily. The exams are a bit tricky but this is college, right? Not high school anymore. Very helpful teacher, knows his stuff well Univ lvl. bio isnt spoon feeding, so be prepared to work hard! All in all, Cam is an excellent prof. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Cam's a great teacher: patient, thorough, helpful and really enjoys what he teaches. Not a walk in the park - you have to do your part, read notes, attend lecture, ask Q's. HINT: Read text chapter summaries - it helps out a lot and some exam Q's are the ones in the CH summary! He knows his stuff and is pleasant to look at ;)

Cam is as green as it gets, very environmentally conscious and loves organismal biology. An excellent prof, he makes the material fun and interesting.

haha He's got weird jokes but they're awesome! He's very knowledgeable and is always up for questions even "stupid questions." The midterms are fair but some things are a little tricky and specific. I would take his class again.. plus he looks like Dexter!!!

awesome prof! really into ecology and evolutionary biology. made the class super interesting with real world applications of the concepts.in terms of quizzes and exams, the marking was extremely fair and he did his best to give marks whenever possible. I would definitely take future biology classes with him! A+ quality

Great prof, uses overhead notes which can print & get from online. was able to understand & remember what he taught. Easy to talk & ask questions to. His tests/quizes always contain what he teaches & he's clear on what will be on the tests/quizes. He's offering BIO 1218 BIODIVERSITY & CONSERVATION BIOL which i hear is good.

One of the most helpful teachers in Langara, as far as I know. He is very knowledgeable about ecological and environmental issures. Students who are interested in conservation biology, ecology, or environmental study should consider taking his courses.

Would love to have him as my teacher in every subject

He is a very easy going and an excellent instructor. No textbook is required as the notes are available online. You just need to bring to class to fill in the missing blanks. His exams are completely based on his notes and if you want to do really well, pay attention to what he says in class (especially when it is not explicitly in the notes!)

Really great at explaining - and really approachable if you have any problems. Definitely an instructor worth taking - also has some humour thrown in. The only draw back is the notes have to be filled in, and printed off weekly - which is bothersome. Also there are weekly assignments. but if lab class you get yellow-bus trips :D

what a gem. great lectures, that just fly by. his wit is thrown in at any given interval and really makes it a laid back atmosphere. there is no textbook requirements but you do print off weekly sheets for lectures. take his class!

He is a kind of quiet, keep as much to himself as possible guy. Knows his stuff, he loves birds.... He's a hot geek.

He's an AWESOME prof! much easier than other biology profs ive had at langara. He explains everything very clearly, has good notes, and his tests are very fair and easy. That being said, you still have to study like you would nay other bio course. I would give Cam 2 thumbs up!

Awesome teacher. If you are looking at reviews trying to see if he is a good teacher to take, then yes. Go take him! I had 2 classes with him and the reason i took him the second time is because he is seriously one of the best teachers. Very funny too.

Cam is hilarious, but don't let that fool you. His quizzes and tests can be pretty difficult if you don't study and make sure you understand it all. On every test there will be at least one thing you didn't talk about a whole lot but you should get if you really understand the material. Great guy, I'd take him again in a heartbeat, just study!

Great teacher. In love. He explains the concepts thoroughly and makes sure that only what is in his notes will be examinable. Honestly only used my text for the practice questions at the end of each chapter which he does tend to use for some of his multiple choice questions. Bio isn't easy, there is a lot to memorize but Cam makes it less painful.

Cam is the man. However, this course is no picnic but it also isn't impossible. He will be there to answer any questions in his office if you have questions but you will need to study hard and understand the key points in his slides to get the best possible grades. SPOILER ALERT: PHYLOGENETIC TREES

He is one of the prof I ever had. He is funny in class. His exams are fair, he is a good person to communicate with and helps a lot. He even gives you his own notes and lectures if you ask. He knows his stuff very good.

Cam is easily my favourite teacher at Langara. He's so knowledgeable and helpful, it's really obvious that he wants his students to do well. His quizzes and tests are straight from the notes and class discussions. I never used the textbook and I got an A. The 1215 lab tests are really tough but Cam was even more helpful than the instructor.

Helpful, smart, silly-on-occasion, simply awesome. Just read his new book last week, The Endangered Species Road Trip -- shoulda been studying but it was impossible to put down.

Cam is great, but the course is quite demanding. If you are not into studying hard, expect disappointments.

I'm currently going into my third week of classes with Cam and so far he is great. Powerpoint slidesnotes are very clear. He gives the class chances to earn extra relatively easy marks through in class group and online quizzes. I am looking forward to rest of the semester.

As a second year biology student I am now commenting on all of my prof's, and this guy was simply the best. He could teach a 7:00pm class and still make everyone laugh and learn the material as well. Don't cram, give yourself at least one week's worth of study time and focus during the lectures and skim through the chapters and you will get an A.

He is a great instructor, very helpful, very nice and super hot..I would like to take his class again.

He's a very 'bro-ish' prof, which is chill and also can be a bit annoying if you're type A like me. I found his lectures very laid back and then some of his test questions ambiguously worded and alluding to a topic briefly covered in class but not in the lecture slides or textbook. He gives good hints for lab exams and really supports his students.

Cam is a great guy, really cares about his students, tries his best to help them do well.

I LOVED Cam. My favourite biology teacher at Langara and I've taken 6 course with different teachers! His lectures are very clear and he loves to answer questions in class and he helps you during lab times too. Super friendly prof who is very understanding and emphasizes what will be on the exam. Also nice to look at, very hot prof.

Solid background knowledge. Clear lectures. Bonus marks on exams. Clear on big ideas. Speaks quite quickly because of heavy lecture load. Detailed questions on midterms.

Cam is a great professor with a great personality and sense of humour. He is very personable and easy to talk to, and conversational in his teaching which makes the material accessible and engaging. I would take his class again right there.

Loves his subject and knows a lot about it. Passionate about birds! Lectures are based on PP presentations but they are still fun and pretty easy to follow. You gotta love bio to pass his course easily. Otherwise prepare to study the notes a lot.

Cam is by far the best prof I have ever have, and this is including the two years I have spent at SFU. A lot of the questions on his exams come from the lectures. The material isn't that difficult if you pay attention in class you have the capability to do well.

Cam is an amazing instructor. His classes are very interesting and informative. He posts his lecture slides on D2L BUT they have blanks on them, meaning that you have to attend in order to pass. His tests are based on the notes and the extra info he says in lectures. He is a fair marker. Exams are hard, but they are feasible if you studied.

Best instructor I had so far! Really interesting lectures and examples, funny, and really accessible. Exams and quizzes are 100% on the lecture slides, if you study you will do well. I wish he would teach more courses.

Great teacher. Doesn't call students to answer questions. Take his class if you are an introverted person, he will not make your participate in class room discussions. I like the way he gives out books reference such as the Ancestor's Tale and Jaw.

He's so good! I really like him as a person and a prof. I thought his lectures were so fun and he's funny too. I wish he taught more courses. I would definitely take any class he teaches!

Great notes, great class. Very engaging and easy to follow thoughts. BUT He tells us to focus on the big picture but ends up testing us on these random tangents he goes on in class and/or tiny little facts that he briefly mentioned ONCE in class. We were tested 80% on class discussions.

Cam is pretty chill and sometime jokes around but the lectures could get pretty boring. His notes are fill in the blank so make sure you get those filled. The midterms are pretty straight forward but annoying how he always add 1 or 2 questions that are tiny facts. Otherwise easy to get a high grade for the lecture part. Focus study more on lab.

if I would have the chance to take a class with Cam, I would surely be a part of his class again. he really cares about his students. his lecture slides are really interesting and he adds some pop quizzes in between which is a good idea to prepare for the exams. the Attendence is important for any class to good in exams.

Cam's amazing! Lectures are fun and engaging. He's hilarious and cracks quirky jokes out of nowhere. Silly guy, but you will definitely learn a lot from him. Very smart, knowledgeable, and has an attention to detail.

He's a "bro-type" of prof, he's especially lenient with the marking, and provides helpful support in learning the course content. However, when it comes to prepping for exams, you need to understand every little bit of detail from the notes. READ THE NOTES he gives or you won't expect to do well in the course.

Cam is one of the best bio profs in Langara. And Langara has a really solid team of biology profs.

He's a very understanding teacher. The lecture and notes he gives are solid, as long as you listen to his lectures and take down notes you'll probably do good. Gives a lot of hints of what to look out for in quizzes. And most importantly, he prerecords all of his lectures so you can easily go back through all the content easily.

With what's going on COVID-19, Cam has been a great instructor! He's really nice and really tries to make sure you understand the material in class! His lectures are quite organized and they are fairly simple with key points being made. Honestly the best instructor I've ever had at Langara by far!

Amazing!! I think he did a great job with the course despite the challenges that COVID-19 brought on us. As long as you understand the major concepts, youll be fine. I didnt worry too much about memorizing all the small details.

Cam is the best bio prof I've ever had. The course was delivered online and he never made his lectures boring. He's hilarious and a very lenient marker. He replies right away on email. His notes were very helpful and he explains everything thoroughly and clearly. Quizzes and exams were easy! I wish he teaches second year bio courses too!

Cam is one of the best profs I've ever had. He explains things in an easy way to understand and makes sure to go through everything you need to know. The exams won't have trick questions or surprising elements to them because Cam will most likely have gone through them at length in class; he highlights what you need to know for an exam and whatnot.

Cam is an amazing professor. I learned a LOT in his class. Make sure to show up to class because there is no textbook and quizzes/exams are based directly off of lecture/lecture notes. If you pay attention you will do very well. Assignments and quizzes are all straight forward.

My absolute favourite. Be sure to take notes in class, because some little bits of information may show up in quizzes. Quizzes themselves are straightforward and easy if you study your notes. He is interesting, caring and he sparked my interest in birds and plants. 10/10 would recommend.

Cam was a great prof and I really enjoyed this class. He is funny and kind, the material was really clear and this was one of my favourite courses I've taken. Group projects were very annoying but the questions were easy. Quizzes sometimes got annoying as they were every 2 weeks and fairly in depth, but also very fair questions. Lab exams sucked!!!

He didnt miss a class! Very passionate! He surely loves teaching! He does not use slides from Pearson. He has his own condensed version to guide the lessons.

He really cares about the students and provides good feedback. This course has too much new information but he provides organized lecture notes that make this course easier. Best Biology professor I had. I truly enjoyed his lecture and when he explains stuff it truly shows how much knowledge and understanding of the material is behind it.

He really know what hes teaching and knows the lecture by heart. Exams are ok if you were paying attention in class and reviewed before, he makes all the information easier to understand. Hes willing to help and gives weekly assignments (answers he gives them in his lectures and notes). Take him if you can

Cam is an extraordinary instructor!! He knows the content of the lectures very well, responds to students' questions clearly, and instead of midterms he does mini-exams every 2 weeks which is better. Mini exams are ok and many questions are very similar to the assignments. Definitely, if you can take this course with him.

Best professor met so far. He teaches very well. Everything comes from notes but questions are application based. His class is quite engaging. He is very kind and good. I hope I could get more classes with him!

Professor Cam is an excellent instructor who makes the course material engaging and accessible. The mini-exams are a great way to stay on top of the content. Unstuckstudy was super helpful for study prep along with the provided notes.

Biology is not my strength but definitely professor was really great to make sure we understand the topics! There is a lot information, you definitely need to assist to class! But topics are really interesting! Labs are really enjoyable. He is really fear with grades and 4 mini exam Instead two mid- terms are really helpful.

One of the best professors I've had! I've taken two biology courses with him, and he's been incredibly kind and supportive throughout. He truly cares about his students and always makes time to help. His way of teaching made learning so much easier and enjoyable. Really grateful to have him as a professor!

Professor Cam makes the classes quite interesting. He is fair in grading and works with many of his own photographs, which shows his expertise. He was always willing to make extra time for his students. Too much content for a single course! But the material is fascinating for biology lovers.

Loved Cam's quizzes so much better than heavy midterms. I would ask for him in all my classes if possible and also really fun! I would even take this class again maybe because of the energy Cam gives.

Cam is an absolute gem. Instead of midterms there are 4 mini exams( mcq + written)which are closed book. Group assignments too. He explains stuff well and is willing to help you during office hours, after class, and during labs when you have a question.

Amazing professor. Final grade percentages are fair he does 4 mini exams. It's important that you go to his lectures and take notes. Since if u miss a day you will have to ask a classmate for notes since he dosen't post Filled lecture slides.

cam is such a chill guy. he's excellent at simplifying heavy topics like the immune system & bacteria. class has 4 mini-exams instead of 2 heavy midterms which is great. they're based off slides so no textbook. i'm not much of an ecology/evolution fan, but if u wanna learn abt the evolution of bacteria all the way to humans, this class is for u! :)
