This has been the worst teacher yet ! She is all over the place in class, treats students like kids, so please don't keep your phones on your desk because she watch you like a hawk. She gives a lot of BS work that takes up time. Be prepared to go the whole semester without getting anything graded. You really are clueless on how you are doing
honestly the worst class ive taken. she's rude and treats you as if you're 7. gives you homework that's more pages than an essay each week and tests are about any little detail she has ever spoken about. Although i got an A, i never knew what my grade was throughout the entire semester. very boring and i would higlhy reccommend a different prof.
She is very nice but assigns tons of homework each week that take up a few pages, also some of the questions of the tests are about small details from the book or that she mentioned in class; I got an A but because I read all the assigned chapters very well as well as her PowerPoint presentations; participation is very important to her, so that will be a nice boost to your grade if you participate continuously
This course has too much material for one semester but an instructor who works her cute little dairy air off to see that the students get their necessary material. An instructor who cares and knows her stuff.I highly recommend the instructor not the course
Currently taking this class....took time off my hw to say SHE IS A HORRIBLE PROFESSOR! That is all folks, choose wisely
currently enrolled in this cource, shes okay, does get carried away alot.. seems always at a rush but i wouldnt blame her since their is so much to cover in a short span of time. poor thing asks the class questions and no one seems to chime in, she does love feedback and class interactions, if ur fine with the ton of hw then go for it
She is boring teacher and give a lot of homeworks. Have quizz every week and read book every day. Not recommend her.
Homework assignment every week. takes hours on end. I have to set a whole day aside just for it. A quiz over the reading once a week and constant group work. She assigns way more work than she can grade. Out of 10 homework assignments 10 quizzes, she has only graded 2 homework assignments. I really regret taking this professor.
Tons of homework every week. a couple of them took me 6 hours to complete, and with only 4 more classes left I have no idea where I stand. she does drop a test grade but her tests are difficult and they often include questions over small irrelevant details. the class is very boring. I highly recommend a different professor.
I cannot recommend her as an elective class. She gives many homework assignments to consider this a 4 credit course. If you work full time and go to school, skip this class. Other then that, she gave a well lectured class.
Going into the final not knowing where I stand because nothing is graded. 5 page homework weekly. Hard to keep up if you're taking other classes and working. PICK ANOTHER PROFESSOR
She gives a ridiculous amount of work. She doesn't realize we can't and don't want to spend 15+ Hours A WEEK on her class. She gives so much work she didn't grade any of it the whole semester. When I confronted her on this she made excuses for herself. She tests us over irrelevant minute details and doesn't allow us to review the tests. Donottake
A lot of weekly homework, and some of the questions for the tests were details from the book or any irrelevant stuff she said in class, the good thing was that she ended up not assigning a final exam and instead assigned a final project
This teacher is organized and clear on her assignments and expectations. She is open and willing to answer and assist her students. I took this class as a mini-mester class so it was compact and you can lose your way easily if you miss an assignment. Lots of work and writing!
Do not take her class! She assigns way too much homework. I am not even sugar coating that. She assigns homework that take 4 to 6 hours to complete. You must set aside an entire day for it. She wont grade anything until the end of the semester, so you wont know where you stand. You do group work each class. She does not give review sheets!
She's SO alive & passionate about this subject! I thought it'd be boring but she totally changed my mind about this subject! Lots of homework, just definitions and a few summaries per chapter, BUT if you do it, you're guaranteed to pass (it's like your study guide!) Reading is required as well, you better read! Her class was fun & she's super cool!
I took this class online and the module opens on Mondays, by Tuesday night you have to read the entire LONG chapter, turn in a page of homework and a full page of discussion questions, then my Thursday night you have to respond to 3 discussions and turn in another page of homework. I was spending about 4 hours a day on this class.
I really liked her and her class is not that bad. The homework is out of control but it is not hard, just definitions and chapter review but no matter what you do, it's an easy 100. Test are not that hard because of all the hmwk you do , studying is not mandatory. This is what I like about her, she is willing to work with you if you need anything.
I was overwhelmed by the amount of work. Due dates were Wednesdays and Fridays. Had weekly HW which was on average about 3-4 pgs long. Discussions online were long and also required a reply to 3 other students. The tests were ridiculously long, hard, and timed. Dropped the course, couldn't keep up with the work load which took up way too much time.
She does give lots of homework, but it really helps because it prepares you for the tests. Her class goes by fast because she's fun and entertaining and finds ways to make the class interesting.
Homework is crazy. lots of vocab, short answers , and end of chapter essay. She's super energetic. Loves to have "group time" which isn't bad being in the groups is helpful. Depending on the class days you turn homework in every other time you have class. Tests are lengthy, but not too bad. Overall a good class to take and a good professor.
She is very fast paced. She keeps to the schedule and makes sure that she gets everything in that she has planned. She is very time conscience and makes sure that things get done in the time that she has put away from that specific activity.
She is very engaging and does a great job of relating material to contemporary things. Very knowledgeable about subject matter.
She is super sweet and really loves the humanities, which makes you want to know more about it as well. Kind of takes a while to give back homework but tests she usually hands back right away. Really easy learning environment and tests are super easy if you study for them.
Professor Stamper gives long homework for each chapter, and expect a quiz for the pages she tells you to read. Has online assignments when you don't have to go to class. Do the online assignments, because they help your grade and they are very easy. She also has group work every day, gives extra credit and is a very kind professor.
Alot of homework, quizzes every class. expect to work
Lots of very tedious homework from definitions to "200 words on what we covered in this chapter" every week. If you miss a day be careful because you might have a test next time you come to class because she doesn't always tell you. Always check d2l or student email because she is very active there.
Really up beat, positive, follows syllabus to the T, and allows extra credit. Pretty easy class if you do the work that needs to be done.
Professor Stamper is a really great teacher who is passionate about what she teaches. She really knows her stuff and can help you relate to the information. The homework is pretty long but it really helps you understand the material better and prepare for tests. Also gives great feedback on major assignments and her tests are actually really easy.
Get ready to read, do tons of homework, quizzes every week, and listen for a lot of information. as long as you do all theses things, should be an easy A
Professor Stamper was a wonderful teacher. She follows syllabus to a T and is very understanding. The Homework can be a tad long but it's very easy. There are 4 tests and she drops the lowest grade. Also she gives extra credit which can help your average. Very interesting class and I definitely would recommend taking her.
Great teacher and very passionate about the material she teaches. Group work everyday and homework load is a lot. Do the work and show up to class and you should be OK. You will need the text book for class. Only flaw would be that grades are not posted regularly. I recommend taking her!!
Class is a dialogue, so participation is necessary. She wants to hear your thoughts about the reading. There will be some lengthy reading assignments and quizzes follow. It seems like a lot at first, but by the semester's end, you see why.
She is very helpful, but make sure you are going over the chapters because she will call on you to just hear your opinion on a painting , etc. She is very nice and well-detailed. I had a good semester with her!
Great class to take. I found it to be fairly easy. As long as you complete your homework, you'll do alright.
She makes a seemingly boring class entertaining because she has such a passion for what she's teaching.
One of the most passionate teachers i've ever had. The course itself is not something i would research on my ow but she makes what se teaches instresting because of the passion she has for it! Super easy class as long as the homework is completed.
A little all over the place during class, but at the end you get clear instructions on what she wants. However, doing in class "reviews" barely help. Just read a little bit and you'll be fine! Trust me I hate reading!
Professor Tipton is amazing, and one of the best professors I've ever had. She produces a comfortable and positive learning environment for her students.
She is fantastic she does well and makes sure everyone is on the right track to pass and she trys her hardest to make this class intresting. But you HAVE to particpate its the only way to pass her class!
Really enjoyed her teaching style. But there was soooooo much hw. Wouldn't suggest taking it over the summer or as a mini. The work is applicable to tests and quizzes though, so at least theres that. And she does seem to care about the students and their grades. She definitely loves what she does.
Great professor, would take in the fall or spring time instead due to all the homework and quizzes day by day. But still take even if it's the summer
class very interactive, great lectures, videos, outside resources, relate material to current events, amazing presentation of material. Dynamic teacher, extra credit offered, encouraged students daily, treated all students as adults! Homework 4 nights a week, this method worked - information helped with quizzes and class participation and test.
I absolutely loved this class because of the Professor, her passion for what she teaches makes the students want to learn. She also believes in participation and yes you will be using your text books a lot. I highly recommend this professor
Has a way of getting you interested in the subject. It's obvious she really likes teaching and wants students to do well. Adds cool stuff not in the book and finds interesting videos. Pay attention to the review you'll do well on the tests. TONS of homework. Makes rules and expectations clear up front. Daily quizzes, so absences add up fast.
I took the class online and I loved the material, however since I took it online for a summer session and was also taking another online class, it was a lot of work and ended up not getting the grade I hoped for. I would've loved taking the class for a full semester! Professor Stamper is SO helpful and a very fair grader. I recommend taking her!!
She loves what she does and her lectures are very empowering. Yes, there is a lot of homework and yes, participation is mandatory, but she's always there to pick you up if you're not sure what to say and what is school for anyway? She will make you laugh and she is probably one of the nicest people I have ever met.
Professor Stamper has been one of the best professors I have ever had! She makes her lectures interesting and encourages everyone's' participation!
She is an amazing teacher caring and makes the class so smooth. She gives homework every week and a quiz every week which I think is good review. Only one major paper is due and she gives extra credit opportunities. She cares for her students. I would take her class anytime.
She is as awesome fun professor because she makes this dry subject so easy to understand for her students. She is funny at times and very devoted to what she is doing. She values your opinion and participation of all kinds. I would take her again!
There is a decent amount of homework: reading a chapter then answering questions then an easy five question quiz the next class. BUT it's a great class. Professor Stamper is a great teacher, her enthusiasm for the material is contagious and she really cares about her students. She loves feedback and participation. Great class and a great teacher.
She goes out of her way to give me and several other students private tutorial sessions and understands my situations when it comes to trying to preserve my time in my studies.
She is very organized and cares about her students. She always sticks to the syllabus and you know exactly what is going to happen in the next class period. Tests are easy because she goes over everything important in class and in the chapter homework. Overall fun and interesting class.
She is very interested in what she teaches and looks for each of her students to see the usage of her class.
One of the nicest professors on campus and is very knowledgeable on all information presented in the class. Group work every class with alot of reading, quizzes, four exams but only takes the three best, and also a paper that requires you to go downtown to a museum and look at artworks.
Professor Stamper is one of a kind. She welcomes you with joy and excitement. If you know how to follow instructions, you'll do well in the class. Make sure to read at least a couple of pages from the chapters prior to the quizzes; these are really easy and will always be the same questions for every chapter. Do your homework! There are 4 tests.
Professor Stamper keeps her class engaged in the lectures with her teaching style, which involves watching a few videos on the origins of many Avengers. Not trying gets you a B. Studying a normal amount gets you an A. Straightforward grading and easy work. Highly recommended.
Professor Stamper is an awesome teacher. She makes her self available for extra help outside of class not that you'll need it if you read. She gives a lot of hw but it prepares your for the tests. You can tell that she loves teaching and it makes you feel comfortable.
She is awesome!!!
Not much homework, just a lot of reading out of the textbook. Tests are pretty straight forward right out of the book and lectures are out of the book as well. Wasn't too hard of a class, it just requires a lot of reading and memorization!
She does a lot of group work which is really nice because it helps you connect with the students in you class better. She also does a great final review 3 days worth which I have never seen by any other professor I ever had, so that was great. She does need to give test or quizzes back maybe a little earlier instead of all at one time.
She makes you Read a lot because in class will be discussions about the reading. A lot of group work in class which helps you connect with your fellow students. She needs to give back quizzes and test back in a timely fashion.
Read, read, read! And you have a guaranteed A in the class. Professor is very easy to get a long with, she keeps the class fun and makes everything more than easy to follow. She also provides plenty of extra credit opportunities which is always good to have.
She is very passionate about humanities and she shows that passion as she teaches. there is group work at the beginning of every class. She doesnt post grades on D2L so you will just have to calculate them on your own. she give a lot of homework that composes of a lot of definitions and essays. Read the chapters and do the homework you'll pass.
Professor stamper does a good job with keeping her students engaged . She's very sweet and is very passionate about her class . Participate and and do the homework and you will pass . I definitley would take her class again if I had to.
She's really nice, energetic, fun, she knows her stuff, you can tell she really loves what she teaches because she really enjoys it. I would definitely recommend her if anyone wants or needs to take this class
Professor Stamper is a great teacher. She goes by the syllabus so it's never a surprise when the next quiz or hmwk is due. Her classes mostly consists of class work and participation matters. She gives several opportunities for extra credit. She is never dull and her personality and enthusiasm shows her dedication to teaching. I'd take her again!
I would definitely take this professor again, because she is very respectful and helps the best she can.
Professor Stamper is amazing! She truly cares for her students and makes lecture fun. She likes to make everyone contribute to the class discussion, which makes it even more interesting. She is truly an amazing professor.
I honestly do not understand how this professor makes class participation a big chunk of your grade. I mean, seriously?? Oh and don't speak unless you raise your hand!! Since when were we in Elementary School, I thought we were in college? This class is super boring and she is literally all over the place. I don't recommend this professor at all!!!
This professor is good for people that need accommodations. However you have to self advocate for yourself if you want help from her outside of class. The day before her test I would get her to check over all of my homework's which I would use as a study guide. She uses the textbook quite a bit. Five question quiz before class.
I think Professor Stamper is awesome! I am taking her for the second semester in a row now. She loves class participation & encourages people to be involved in the lecture. With that being said, reading the chapters and having the textbook is required. It's not a hard class but if you follow the lecture, read, & do the homework you'll pass.
Professor Stamper was super caring and never had a frown on her face! I would reccommend her to anyone needing to take Humanities, the only thing that I can thing of as negative is the amount of homework, but every class has homework!
As long as you read your textbook this class is an easy A.
Great teacher if you are into history. Wasn't able to attend class for a group presentation due to a family conflict and she let me present my own portion to herself in her office, which I thought was great. Best advice would be to read your textbook and do your homework and this class will be an easy A.
Super passionate about her subject. Such a sweetheart. I have learned a lot in her class because she makes it seem very interesting. Although I didn't receive the grade that I wanted for this class, I would definitely take it again with her. Not a tough grader but exams are relatively difficult. Get ready to READ!
wow! This was my favorite Professor she is awesome I have nothing negative to say about her TAKE THIS CLASS it will be the best decision you make all semester
Very good professor she is passionate for what she teaches but DOES make you read a lot almost everyday.
Such an awesome professor! I took her for Minority Cultures in the U.S and it was one of my fav classes thus far. She does give a lot of homework, there are 3 test but only takes the best 2 tests. There is an annotated bibliography, 2 teach the class presentations, one creative project and a museum paper. Overall it is a very easy class.
Prof, made the class more complicated than it should have ever been. Does't really know the subject she is teaching, I'm honestly not sure if this is the same prof I took at lonestar but if she is then steer away!!! Class had only 7 people and she went out of her way to make things more difficult as she could! Take it at your own risk.....
Professor Stamper is very organized (she had a schedule for the semester to follow along with), and answers questions when you ask her. She offers to help you when needed and updates her students on any extra credit available for the class. You WILL need your textbook for this class!! Overall, if you turn in your assignments on time, you will pass.
My all time favorite professor. Extremely kind, funny, and has not once been rude. Lots of reading in the textbook that will apply to the homework and tests, but she will review it to help you out. Took this during summer, but there's 4 tests + final (all of them 50 questions) but she drops lowest test grade. Dr. Stamper is a MUST take professor!!!
She is very nice and responds to emails promptly, however, be prepared to write a lot! Take notes, do homework, write/respond to a discussion board, and you'll get an A.
Super nice and understanding! With every new topic there was a reading with questions as homework. They're pretty easy but don't wait until the last minute to do it. One project, one paper and a presentation, also a few short answer quizzes. The class itself is really interesting and easy. Definitely recommend Dr. Stamper!
If you have more classes beware. I took this class as an 8 week course. I understand those are heavy but Ive taken many before with not nearly as much work. I never write reviews but this class washarder than it had to be. Several assignments due every night on top of my other classes. I felt like I was majoring in humanities rather than science.
I took this as a summer mini and the course was 3 weeks. Dr. Stamper assigned the full sememsters work load in a 3 week mester so it was kind of insane. I do not advise the mini if you have a full time job. I did it but it was a lot of hard work. She was great though and really cares! Deadline heavy too! Good luck!
She is an amazing professor! I really enjoyed her class and I learned so much. I took her online in the summer I semester and it requires heavy loads of work. (might be better in the Fall/Spring.) Also, she will assign work everyday Mon-Thurs. but you can get ahead in the weekends. I definitely recommend her if you really want to learn!
The workload was insane and even casued me to have a panic attack! I would work 6-8 hours a day just trying to keep up with what was due and what I should be studying next.
She is SO unorganized, maybe she is organized in her own mind, but I have only been in this class ONE WEEK and I want to cry every time I get online for class. Her instructions are not clear at all. I emailed her with a question and she didn't even answer what I asked AT all.
This class requires way tooo much homework. Dont take this class if you have another class as well. 3-4 tasks within one assignment due 3 days a week as well as posting multiple discussions. Lots of reading and explaining your opinion redundantly. No late assignments accepted.
I am in my last semester at Lone Star and this was the most difficult class I've taken to date. Expect 10-12 hours of homework each week, none of which will apply to the test. I did absorb a ton of interesting informatation however, it would have been more useful had it been on any of her exams. Skip her if you can help it.
Professor Stamper was a very cheerful and caring professor! she is a tough grade and makes you work for your grades! i like a good challenge personally so others that are lazy and not work intuitive will not like this class. But i looked forward towards each class because of Stamper! I would not hesitate to take her again!
Professor Stamper is very nice as a person, and also tries to go in depth about the subject of the class. It was interesting, but rough. We had to read around 20 pages in our textbook for homework, and fill out a review sheet for every chapter. The homework was also used as a review sheet for tests. Participation also mattered a lot.
Professor Stamper is really nice. If you can't make the deadline she will give you half credit if you can submit it before the next class. The homework and reading is a must. So get ready to read. If you study the homework questions and the power points you will do really well. This class has lots of discussions, so expect to be questioned in class
She's a really nice lady and you can tell she loves the stuff she teaches, but she has way too much structure in the class. Everything needs to be done her way and damn you if you stray a little bit off. Her tests are really hard and every week you'll have one chapter to read. Straight from the textbook, class is boring. Take someone else if u can.
As a nurse working in this pandemic Professor Stamper was caring and very helpful juggling my work and class work. I would 100% take her again.
I do not recommend taking this summer class if you have a full time job/part time job/distracting kids. It is SO much work for what the class is actually worth. I have taken hours on just one homework assignment! Its so frustrating. I appreciate the fact that the instructions are incredibly clear and organized but that's about it.
Professor Stamper is so kind & empathetic. She truly cares about recognizing & celebrating minority cultures. You will do some reading for assignments but you learn a lot about others, their experiences / struggles, & social injustices. She is understanding & gives grace periods. Her exams mirror the assignments. I really enjoyed her class.
There is a lot of work, but it is well worth it. I learned a lot and enjoyed the professor. She is easy to contact and understanding.
I really enjoyed Professor Stamper's class and how caring she is overall. The course is not too easy or hard, but it does require lots of reading and participation to maintain a good performance in the class. If you enjoy learning about philosophy and art, this class is for you!
Ok While Dr. Stamper has amazing lectures and is nice the homework is a whole other story. She assigns lengthy homework and does not give a lot of time to get it done. Points are taken off if turned in late. I have gotten zeros on homework because I turned them in late as they took so long to do. Just make sure you have a flexible schedule
Fantastic class highly recommend! Lots of homework(easy). Movies to watch; alot of reading assignments (PDFs no book) 2 projects! DB posts on all assignments. The best professor/class that I have EVER had( I'm 50yrs old)! If you want to enjoy this class, DO NOT take in a short session! I got an A+ with no problem. Feedback encouraging/respectful.
PLEASE DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR FOR HUMA 1311. She does not upload anything on time, we have had to email her several times to remind her to post assignments and open drop boxes. The class ends in three days and I still do not have any grades in my grade book. Uploaded the final a day before it was due and did not give us an extension.
I was not planning to take this course, but I am glad I did. She is friendly and caring with the students, but the homework can be challenging due to reading many textbook pages and taking notes being assigned. She also assigns group discussions and scores for participation. If you do the work, you will pass the class overall.
I was not planning to take this course, but I am glad I did. She is friendly and caring with the students, but the homework can be challenging due to reading many textbook pages and taking notes being assigned. She also assigns group discussions and scores for participation.
Awesome Professor! This class didn't even feel like a course. All of the subject material was interesting, and I feel like I learned a lot about other cultures and my own. I would take more classes from Professor Stamper if I needed them!
This was an extremely easy class. Every quiz had questions directly from assignment given. She was such an easy grader. She is vocal about her political beliefs, but other than that, she was good.
Where to start this teacher is nice but you will be doing a lot of work, multiple writings, no tests though which is nice. You will be reading and writing a lot and will need to participate in discussions as well.
Easy class. I took it online. The only things I did not like about this class was that she never grades anything and it is HW heavy. Lots of HW, discussion boards, 2 Teach the class projects, 1 Day of the day project(creative piece, essay, and video), a response paper to the novella be read, and a final reflection paper.
Where can I start? She doesn't respond to emails on time; Started giving all zeros despite I did all the work, because of late submission, but when I reached out to her once, no response. It's ironic. Doesn't grade in a timely manner has students in suspense till last minute. It was a horrible experience; her audacity made me cry. She failed me
Engaging professor who makes the material interesting. Lots of readings and assignments, but the workload is manageable. Unstuck AI was a lifesaver for staying on top of the material. Definitely recommend taking this class.
LOVED HER she is very engaging and inclusive. This class will be very easy for you if you do the homework assignments and review the slideshows she has, which all are relevant to the test. Had a couple presentations about various subjects that you should crush if you have any public speaking exp at all and find something to like about the subject.
