This teacher really helps a lot. I really loved his class, he's a great teacher and everyone has fun while learning. The only part that is hard are the exams. You have to study very hard for them.

He is super funny. Probably the most intertaining prof you will ever have, but ... his grades are not based on your proformance.

HAHA... BEST AND FUNNIEST TEACHER! MADE THE CLASS LEARN THROGUH HUMOR, AND IT WAS EFFECTIVE. SPEECHES WERE HARD BUT FAIR. THE ONLY KICKER WAS THE TESTS. THE TESTS WERE EXTREMELY DIFFICULT, BUT STUDYING THE BOOK INTENSIVELY WILL HELP. RECOMMEND THIS TEACHER TO ANYONE.

Guess com isn't my thing, thought this was a complete waste of time. He was super funny for the first week, but it got old quickly. Don't blow off this class like I did. Though it was an easy A, now it might mess up my 4.0 with a B His lectures are clear, but they didn't help with the tests. Wish I could have taken it online & saved my time.

fun teacher, but didn't explain concepts well. little work, the tests are kind of hard but you can get throught with your notes. gives out lame study guides and very little extra credit. alot of group and in class projects. pretty fun class, but u have to try to an A, 5 pop quizes.

Mr. Basquiat has a fun class and his hummor makes students feel at ease, considering the subject. I did not do very well in the class because I am not a good public speaker. I would say the class is easy for outgoing sudents but very intimidating for shy students. He is a good teacher and I always reccomend him to other students.

Funny and Entertaining. A good teacher, but somtimes seems arrogant. Somtimes he gets a little overbearing with his Radical left wing politics. Tests are hard, so you better study. Overall, a very good instructor.

One of the quickest witted people I've ever met. Has managed to entertain the student while teaching the student. No one sleeps in his class! As he weaves subject matter with really funny (but relative) stories one can't help but learn (or laugh). Highly recommended.

Cameron is the most hilarious teacher ever. And he is way cool...and hot. I love him! He makes class really interesting and shows you that you can apply the concepts to real life.

I agree, he is a good teacher. He keeps it interesting and fun, and as long as you follow the general guidelines on all of your speeches, don't miss more than 3 days, come on time, and review your notes, you will at least get a B.

Yes he is very funny, but I don't go to school to be entertained. He tries to lighten the subject matter by telling all these crazy stories but can get off subject. Quite arrogant at times and can be downright rude to students. Don't think I would take another one of his classes. Can't believe he has such a hot wife.

Being in this class has helped me a lot about getting speeches prepared and just geeting in font of the class. If you want a really fun teacher this is the guy to take you will learn a lot and have a very enjoyable time i highly recomend this teacher for Comm 101

Not very open to different interpretations of the class. If he says something then it must be right regardless if he is wrong in reality.Funny and interesting guy but if you are looking for an open and unbiased teacher he is not for you.

You have to do work but the material is interesting so its not bad. 12 quizzes (15 questions each), 1 final (pretty hard! study for it!), 6 discussion posts (easy!) and 1 paper (easy!).

Absolute favorite teacher. He's very funny and makes the class interested in the speeches. Very laid back class atmosphere. Amazing teacher. He'll help you out whenever you need it and is always an amazingly nice guy. Can't wait for more Communications classes with him!

I took this class online for 6 weeks. It was hard for me, but the professor is really understanding and he actually cares about his students. He recognizes and appreciates hard working students. If you take one of his classes you won't regret it.

I took this class this summer in a six week course and it was great. I learned so much so quickly - the only bad part was that being online you don't get the real interaction that you would in the classroom. Professor Basquiat was great when I couldn't engage other students on the discussion board-he responded - I loved this class.

SO interesting and helpful! took 6 week online class fall 09. quick paced, keep up with the due dates. weekly 2 chapter quizzes and post as well as a final exam. no extra credit offered. teacher keeps in touch well through angel mail. keep up with reading and exercises and you'll pass w. fun!

Very informative class.

The material in the book used for this course is great. Mr. Basquiat on the other hand showed no consistency when grading my written assignments. No matter how much time and effort put into the post and response in this course, it seemed the professor was unable to give full credit. I would not recommend this professor to any other student.

Very interesting class, though the info has changed the way I think of my relationships. Mr. Basquiaat is very engaging and funny and has good insights into the textbook material. Tests are fair but you better study up. Exercises are kinda useless but still fun.

The professor is awesome and the class is very interesting. With that being said it is also a very hard class. There are 3 tests and 2 papers with very little homework, so if you don't do well on an assignment you may have trouble getting a good grade. All of the test questions come straight from the book, so you have to buy the book and read.

Cameron was great. He made sure to make adjustments to ensure that he was getting the best out of us and that we were getting the most from class. Word of advice: Remember to respond to your classmates posts b/c if you don't it can drop your grade (i missed 3 and ended up w/ a B)Other than that do the reading & BB posts and you'll get an A.

Took 6 wk class online. 2 quizzes and 1 discussion post weekly, and 1 final. Quiz questions require you to read chapters. Responds to emails VERY quickly and is helpful. However, no extra credit, class only worth 400 points so an "A" is very hard to get. Highlight anything with a percentage and when a researcher is mentioned in each chap.

16 week in class: He enjoys his subject and easy conveys this to his students. His lectures are informative sprinkled with humor. He gives plenty of opportunity to ask questions. If you read the text, do the two papers and exercises, and you should do very well.

This was an easy class I actually learned from. I enjoyed all of his lectures and stories. He is a very honest and caring person. He knows the subject. If you read the book, show up to class, and study there should be no reason for not receiving an A(as for any class at CSN). Almost convinced me to switch my major to COM.

Took online for summer 6 week class. You have to read 2 chapters weekly & you take a quiz for each chapter. One movie analysis and the final. Only 330 points total, no extra credit. If you want to do well in the final, save all the quizzes you took. The final is about all 12 chapters and the Q's are not categorized by chapter.

He is meant to be a teacher of communication...wonderful teaching style. Sharp,smart, witty. If you listen and do the work, you'll have an "A".

He is so unorganized, and unprofessional. He does not have a good authority figure in the class. He always makes excuses for his late work. He is someone that you'll like to hangout, but in someone that can teach well.

Mr. Basquiat is one awesome instructor in any Communication class. He have a really great sense of humor and very supportive for everyone to be successful for taking the Com 101 class. I on the other hand, made it to be one of the finalist for the Public Speaking Contest and thanks to Mr. Basquiat for his passionate about Communication. =)

GREAT CLASS. Super fun and this professor really works to help you understand the material and to Succeed in the class. Easy to earn a GOOD grade if you do the work.

Great Class. I had professor Basquiat for Com 102 and that was an awesome class so I took his online class (com 299). A different experience -- he's better in person-- but the class was straight toward and he's still funny. Not hard to get an A or a B.

Took online class in the summer. Lots of reading but the book is pretty interesting. Tests come 100% from the reading so be sure to read. One paper about movies which was pretty easy to write. Got a B+.

Fast class (just 6-weeks). Lots of reading but the book is not a hard read. Some interesting assignments but not too much work. Teacher answers emails fast.

Love Professor Basquiat. He is so funny and his class keeps you entertained the entire time. You only give four speeches and his grading criteria is not difficult at all. Just show up, listen to what he has to say, and follow his directions and you'll have no problem passing.

Prof. Basquit is great!He's very funny and entertaining. Only 4 speeches and the final exam that is straight out of the book! Super easy and helpful, he genuinely wants eveyone to do well and not be freaked out about public speaking!

He is hilarious. I hate writing speeches, but this was by FAR my favorite class last semester. 4 speeches - storytelling, informative, impromptu, and persuasive. Two of them involve research and you can use notecards. He does a great job of making it as easy as possible for you to comfortably give a good speech to your classmates.

This professor is very funny. He has some of the best stories to tell. I took him for 101 and 102 because I liked him so much. He does a great job of taking a very entertaining story and relating it to the lecture. He does it so seamlessly that you don't realize he just applied the concept in a clear and easy way. Take him if you can.

Excellent professor! Genius with communication. The class is easy if you pay attention to what he says and he relates everything to real life situations. He's super helpful and nice. There's only 2 papers and 3 tests all semester. The tests are difficult only because of the way they are worded. Take him if you can though, you'll learn so much.

Professor Basquiat online communication class was a welcome change. There were 12 quizes and 6 postings, doesen't get any better than this. The class was fairly simple; the only requirement is to post your discussions, read the text and take quizes by posted due date. Really enjoyed the course!

GREAT class. So helpful for my personal life, now if I can just get my boyfriend to take professor Basquiat's class. LOL. Papers took a while to grade but he was fast with grading exams, discussion posts, and quizzes. Quick reply to e-mail too.

On line course. Very easy as long as you do the reading and powerpoints. Basically do what is expected of you and you will learn alot.

I took his course last semester. Forgot to give him a rating after, but he left such an impression on me. Not a hard class, easy to understand. Exams were not easy, but not crazy difficult. He is funny. I had to take him for a morning class and he is better than coffee! I looked forward to his class. Great Professor, you won't regret taking it.

I loved this class, he really engages with the class instead of lecturing at you which most professors do which in return students fall asleep. He made me want to go to class, he's hilarious. He even brought his kids to BRING YOUR CHILD TO WORK DAY and they did an improv speech with us. he's great!

Amazing class. 1000x better than COM 101. Mr. Basquiat has a gift for helping with public speaking. He even helped a few students earn scholarships by improving there speaking. Earned my "A" hope to take him again

Great film knowledge. Good lecturer but also gets students to participate so it's a fun class-- plus we watch movies! One bummer: Takes a while to get papers back graded. ;-)

Took his 8 week course online. There is a total of 2 quizzes and a discussion post per week. There is also a final paper which is really easy. There is a lot of reading and work involved, so be prepared to read and write a lot.

A film class on John HUGHES. Great class! Just a few discussion boards and one large paper. Best of all I got to watch all my favorite movies again. Breakfast club, ferris bueller, home alone, etc. very cool class. My suggestion would be to offer it in the classroom instead of online.

Online course is fairly easy. 8-week online course with 1 discussion and 2 quizzes per week. One attempt per quiz on canvas. No Tests or exams. Film Application paper has similar format to discussion posts. I would definitely recommend.

8-wk online course. Very easy but a lot of reading. We read the entire textbook in 8 weeks. 2 quizzes and discussion posts every week. One short, easy paper about a movie of your choice. It was an interesting course; relates to everyday life.

The best communications professor in CSN! Most COM professors at CSN are rude or make you feel inferior to them but Prof. Basquiat is by far the BEST I have ever had. He is funny and easy going.I took hybrid Com 102 & online Com 299 w/him. He does make you read the material and work pretty hard so be prepared, don't slack off or expect an easy A.

Professor was great w/communcation. Emailed right away to your questions. Took summer class. 2 chapters/wk, 2 15 pt quizzes/wk, 2 disc board postings/wk. No final tests or term papers. great class to get done when you need to squeeze one in during the summer. But don't you dare get a single day behind, or it will bite you!

Great professor. the class is very interesting. He has it set up so that you actually learn something from the material. There are 2 chapters a week on a 6 week summer course. You have to post 1 time per week on the discussion board and reply to 1 student. Read the material ans make notes you you are bound to get and A. Great professor!!

Took Careers in Communication class as an elective. I never expected it to be the best class ever. Prof. Basquiat helepd me learn more about jobs in this field than I ever had. Also good information on resumes and interviews. GREAT CLASS!

This was an 8 week class. Lots of reading and information packed into this class. Two quizzes each week with a discussion board requiring a response to another student, and a film paper due in the second to the last class. Like any online class this is a self taught class. Would take another class from him.

He is an easy grader.1 Discussions post every week and 1 response. As long as you do the assignment properly, he will give you a good grade. Test are easy, just study vocab words or read if you prefer that method.

Great professor to have in person-- he's so funny. Work is balanced throughout the semester. Lots of reading, no extra credit, but stay on top of your assignments and you'll be fine because the quizzes aren't too hard.

Took Mr. Cameron for Com 102 for Spring semester. He's not difficult to understand or do work for but he does expect you to read your chapters when assigned because you'll be doing the chapter's test the day before your class. Other than that, he's an awesome teacher and one I would definitely take again. ^_^!

Makes sure you understand all of the concepts in a real world way. Gives lots of examples and makes the class fun. He is a really funny guy who will be honest with you about what matters and what doesn't. I never needed any extra help personally but he seems like he would help you if needed.

COM 102 online is a great class. I thought that it was going to be a stressful 8 weeks, but it wasn't bad if you read your books. The books was not boring. I suggested for family and friends to take this class or at least read the book because it very useful and informative.

Maybe my favorite teacher ever. I took him for comm 101 & 102. Both times I learned a lot and his lectures are the best! Get work in on time he doesn't take late work.

I took this course online. The assignments were 6 discussion posts, 12 quizzes, and one short 2 page paper. I took this course as an accelerated course and was able to do all the work in 2 weeks with no problem. I would definitely recommend this professor to anyone.

Took a class about director Jon Hughes (The Breakfast Club & Ferris Bueller , etc.) very fun class. Class is online with 3 short essays and one 4-5 page paper. Instructor is very helpful with any questions but you must read the assignments and watch the movies.

Attendance required so don't miss class. Interesting lectures and Prof Basquiat is funny so class is enjoyable (as much as a lecture can be). Most of class grade is on speeches so be sure to follow the speech directions.

Best online instructor I've had. Actually grades assigments in reasonable time and always gives good feedback. (Most CSN online instructors, sadly, are just maiing it in and students are on their own.) Assigments--watching John Hughes films, then writing and discussing Hughes' themes and characters--are well-considered and will get you thinking.

Great class about film director John Hughes. Professor Cameron engages the class with questions that make you really think about the films and be a critical movie watcher. Fast replies to email. Inspires you to want to do better in class. I had him for 102 also, very funny teacher and makes the class time fly by.

This class I took online. You will need the book in order to pass weekly quizzes. The weekly discussions were easy and self explanatory. Remember to comment on your peer's work for the grade. Easy grade glad I took over summer to get this core class out of the way.

I took Professor Basquiat's COM 102 class Fall semester of 2015. I highly recommend him and if I were able to would take his class again myself. He's hilarious & his lectures are never boring. Above all he genuinely cares about his students. The content I got from this class I will use throughout the rest of my life. If his class is open, TAKE IT!

Professor Basquiat is SUPER FUN, he makes his lectures interesting and he makes you want to attend class. Online quizzes, HW every week and one paper 2-4 pages long at the end of the semester. No midterm nor final. HIGHLY recommend him if you want to learn while having fun in class.

COM instructors are the best and Prof. Basquiat is one of the reasons why. Such an enjoyable class, and super engaging. His class goes by so fast because it really is enjoyable. He is very funny! Explicated difficult concepts by making them simple and more real included much of comic examples from his experience. You might want to buy a book or just read it in the library, all he requires are weekly quizzes and homework based on chapters. Attendance is graded!!! TAKE THIS CLASS! This teacher is so amazing! His emails actually brighten up my day because of his personality. This class was so easy. The class was overall pretty easy. I took an 8 week online course and a lot of the test answers were on online. You do have to write 6 discussion posts, a paper, and connect reviews, but overall not too bed. He also gives good responses on papers.

Professor Basquiat is by far the best communications professor I HAVE EVER TAKEN. His class is an eight week online course that has a lot of easy assignments each week along with a paper at the end of the seven weeks. His assignments are all 12 quizzes, 11 workshops online, 6 discussion boards, and one 3-5 page paper. It was an easy B.

I took his 4 week online courses 102 course. Easiest A+ I have ever gotten. No access code needed with your textbook. 12 chapter quizzes, 3 papers, and 6 discussion posts (with 1 reply to a peer). He keeps his class up to date with his availability and does weekly check in messages. No extra credit but you will definitely not need it.

He's probably one of the most caring professors I ever met. He's a true professor at heart because of his passion to teach. As for grading, he is a firm grader but fair! He will let you know what you did wrong and give you some tips along the way. The real factor to paying his class is by paying attention to his instructions and trying your best.

Cool class about John Hughes (Breakfast Club, Home Alone, etc.). Readings every week but all are supplied, no need to buy a textbook.

Professor Basquiat is an excellent teacher. He does not throw any curb balls at you, the Syllabus he provides is very clear. He is accessible and has a great personality and attitude. I would take his class again if needs be.

Super interesting class. Prof. Basquiat has clear grading criteria. Reading almost every week with a quiz on each chapter plus a discussion board. One paper. Fast grading, not tough grader. Funny videos sent out most weeks too.

Cool class on The Breakfast Club and other movies by that director. Some (free) articles to read but no book to buy. Class was online so there was discussion boards instead of talking in class. One paper. Teacher is funny. Class wasnt hard if you read the handouts.

Caveat: I took his class in 2017. Approachable and sociable prof, and he seemed to care about student success. I think he was lenient with our class since it was still basically an intro course. He had his fair share of memorable lessons, and he definitely helped in developing interpersonal com. skills.

Prof. Basquiat was amazing. Hard to understand the rubric in the begining but follow the grading rubric and you will be fine. Make sure you site your work and respond to your classmates and you'll pass.

You have to read a lot to pass the quizzes and participate in the DB to pass. Citations are very important in this class. The syllabus and the rubrics are very clear and his follow-up recordings definitely help a lot. This was one of my favorite classes and I will definitely take a class with Professor Basquiat again.

I highly recommend Professor Basquiats course! He gives great feedback and is very friendly. This course requires weekly participation on the discussion boards. His assignments are interesting and a lot of fun! I would definitely take a course taught by Basquiat again. 10/10!!!

Cool teacher. Funny and helpful in email and videos. Assignments are clear, just do the work and you'll be fine. No late stuff accepted so don't miss the deadlines.

His assignments are well organized and outlined clearly. I have a deeper appreciation of the content I learned due to the pdf files to articles & web links provided. His rubric is clear & makes online learning accessible & interesting. I hope his Comm 299 specialty continues to be a course as it is important to learn perspectives.

I love Prof. Basquiat! The criteria for assignments are clear and I liked reading the textbook. He doesn't accept late assignments, though, and if you miss any speech, you get an F in the course. If you're taking it online, you need to find a group of people to present your speech in front of (it might be easier if you took it in person)

Take Professor Basquiat. Amazing Professor and amazing class. I had a good experience in this class and I took a 4-week course. Professor Basquiat is a very nice professor but a tough grader. Even though he is a tough grader, he does give really really good feedback on how to improve and is very positive when helping you. Highly recommend.

One thing I would advise for online people, this class you have to have five people present for your presentation (video and post it on YT). I love Mr. Basquiat he is understanding about family emergencies and gives you a day to make up. All these quizzes are essays honestly in the textbook. I would recommend it.

He is a kind and understanding professor. He is compassionate about his course and cares that his students stay on top of the course work. I recieved a lot of valuable information in this class not only from the reading but reading other students answers and feedback. Everyone was very respectful in this class which was greatly appreciated!!!

Great professor, I highly recommend. Very nice and caring, responds to emails in a good amount of time. There is a lot to read, but it is very helpful information to know and I felt like I learned a lot from this class. In the 4 wk class you can get just about all of the assignments done on the 2 wk free trial on the McGraw Hill e-book.

Professor Basquiat runs a well-structured class. Engage with the material, complete assignments on time, and you'll do well. unstuck ai and the free textbook are great study aids. Overall, a helpful and organized professor.

Took his winter online course, which had 3 chapters with discussions and quizzes to go over but nothing was a surprise. Was very organized about dates and very easy read. Do the HW and quizzes and you will pass. He also requires a textbook but it is offered online for free and he gives us the link

If your reading this, TAKE HIS CLASS. He is the best professor I have taken two classes from him and he is amazing in both. Clear instructions, grading, and easy work. No extra credit but you won't need it since assignments are easy. Just turn in all assignments and have an easy a. Teacher is very helpful and grades everything in respectful time.
