I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND HIM TO ANYONE. HE IS VERY BORING AND TALKS ONLY ABOUT HIMSELF. HE HARDLY TEACHES AND NEVER HAS ANYTHING READY ON TIME

Great class. This guy loves math and he tries (but it didn't work) to make us love it to. I learned a lot.
He loves to talk but he's a great teacher! He will help you if you ask. And he does love to talk about politics and football.... don't get him started.... :)
He's a really nice and helpful teacher. He never makes you feel dumb. He taught me in three classes and he's always available if you need help. He makes the material understandable and always answers any problems that the student may not get. I don't really care for math classes, but Mr. English made it tolerable and fun for me. He also taught my sister at CSULB.
Cool teacher, explains everything very clear, if you dont get it, just ask and he will tell you different ways on how to do something, makes sure everyone knows what they're doing.
funny teacher, always wanders off and talks about other things. Just do the homework, and its pretty easy. Although he is confusing somethimes and explains too fast. Overall easy going professor.

I would recommend Mr. English to anyone who asked. He is a great teacher, you have to put in time to study and stuff, but he does what it takes to get the material known.
Don't be intimidated by his expections on the first day. He's not that scary. Loves to talk about politics and football and gets the whole class involved, too. He gives a lot of leeway on quizzes and exams, and low pressure on the homework. He is very clear with his lectures, and he knows your name and face by the end of second week! Great teacher!
Good teacher, but loses his train of thought very frequently. Can be annoying sometimes if you're not the kind of person who likes to waste time. Also, DO the homework. He never collected it once, but you really need to do it just so you can follow the material in class. Do that, and you'll pass no problem :)
Cool guy. Likes to get off topic. If you dont think you can complete 191 by yourself then dont take the class.
Nice and likable teacher. Grades easy and very laid back. Likes to talk on a variety of subjects. Knows math well & always puts it out there that he's there to help, otherwise you are free to go early after he's done with the lesson. Gives study guides before tests, homework is hardly ever mandatory but encouraged to get a good grade.
This guy is soo much fun! His class never gets boring, because just when you're in the middle of difficult equation solving, he'll jump right into his predictions of the next American Idol winner! Oh, just don't buy the book. It was a TOTAL waste of money. All the homework was online, and we never used it in class. Def. gonna take him for 70!
Mr English is a really good teacher.is so easy you just show up for the lesson and if u understand it well he'll let class out early.I Highly reccomend him.He is also easy going. I cant wait to take him again next semester. OH yeah and he doesnt assign homework
Just like the other math 191 person said, he likes to talk about a lot of things other than math. But if you can keep him on the subject of math then you'll learn.

Avoid this class at all costs. Take it at another campus. With Mr. English all I can guarantee is that he'll teach you how to play Fantasy Football. Also, 50% of the time in class all we talked about was politics. Maybe he should teach Political Science if he keeps on doing that. I didn't learn a thing in this class.
I have had better and I have had worse. I am glad that semester is over. It can feel like there is no ending with this class. The instructor does not explain too well.
I love Mr. English. He's so cool and funny. Although he teaches pretty fast, He makes sure that his students understand the material. He's a great teacher and for those of you who aren't math people (like me) take this guy.
Final is on everything. Stay up to date and you are fine. If you do the work online it is easy.
He was the best teacher for me. I understood Statistics for the first time. He goes fast, but just ask questions and you will get it explained again. Homework was online, ugh! Practice tests were given. This was extremely helpful.

I loved his class. The way we covered material and were tested was great. You can choose to have homework apart of your grade or not. If you asked for help you got it.
Dude is the bomb. He kicks ASS! Quizzes and exams are mostly scantron. Only draw back is homework is online or not at all.

He was a horrible professor! I would never take him again! All he did was talk about his wife and kids. He never explained anything properly and I love math! Granted....I did get an A in his class but I feel like I didn't learn anything.
Horrible teacher.Nice guy but he's almost always late and then when he finally gets there he spends AT LEAST 30min talking about his life or fantasy football.Rushes through lectures.Not very helpful.Online homework.don't need the book.Had to drop his class.would not recommend him to anyone!

Horrible teacher dont take him, your paying for nothing,i personally am doing fine in this class. But honestly, not worth my time or money, dont even buy the book. DO NOT get this teacher. sad excuse for a professor. never prepared always half an hour late
His class was chill. Its good to take while taking other hard classes. You don't have to do homework if you don't want to and he lets you make up tests.
DO NOT take this class.people who think he's great apparently don't take into consideration that he doesn't show up on time(30 min late) , never has grades available, and most important of all..CAN NOT teach.don't buy the book if u plan on taking him. By the way,did I mention ...DON'T TAKE HIM!
Although he is always late and his jokes are sometimes offensive/****, get in good with him and i'm pretty sure he'll pass you. I did not deserve to pass but i turned in everything and had perfect attendance so he gave me a C. And plus, his stories are pretty interesting and hilarious.
I'd take this class again with Mr. English. Don't know why there's haters out there?
Here's a class that has a great teacher (and entertaining!) and you will learn about math. I'd take it again it I could.

Took his class during summer, was my 1st college class ever. Felt like I was still in high school. Talks about math about 20% of the time and rants about funny nonsense the rest of class. Textbook is not needed, you use Aleks. Exams are multiple choice. If you're looking for a chill class, this is it but he is helpful if you're taking it seriously.
He's cool. Always late & talks about stuff other than math, but if you really want to learn you can. He's unorganized, but he actually does know what he's talking about..when it comes to math at least.
Cool guy, but unfortunately doesn't stay on topic. Loves to talk talk talk about non math related subjects. Each class day is like 80% about his life and discussions 20% math material. I don't even know how I pulled out with a C in this class but thanks!

Had to learn it basically on my own from the text. He IS late. He IS often off topic. Homework was on paper, though, so that was nice. ~I MUST SAY: I was expecting a C or B in that class. Out of nowhere, I got an A: There's no way I could've done that well on the final to get it, so he obviously is very lenient with his grading. So there's that.
Get ready to learn on your own, mostly. His lectures only help so much, and practice is key. Testscan be tough if you didnt rehearse. English is a funny guy though, I enjoyed his opinions on random subjects.
Nice guy. You need to be diligent about tutoring at least once a week. He has a great personality and helps out students who are honestly trying. But if you dont do the occasional worksheets dont bother wasting the classes time. He goes off topic regulary so be prepared to remind him about the lesson plan. Hes very clear and easy to understand!
I liked him as my math teacher, since I am horrible at math! His tests are mainly multiple choice, with some write-in answers. Doesn't require a book, and passes out worksheets to help review for test! He's helpful, just ask! However, he did come late often and is very easily distracted from math. But he lets us out early, so that's a plus!
UNDERSTAND MATH BEFORE YOU TAKE HIS CLASS! If your weak in math, do not take him. No book required, and you will be at tutoring a lot. He's a really great guy, funny, but I sometimes couldn't understand what he wrote on the board so sit up front. Easy tests. Be in class so you know when tests and quizzes are or you could easily miss if you skip.
if u dont need a teacher.then hes ur man.. all he talks about is movies and stuff..hes just doing this for the money he dont care about his students learning outcome... i tried really hard and studied with others bcz he was no help and still gave me a D!!! he deserves an F!! Mr. English is the BEST!!!! He was one of my favorite professors of all times!! He was super helpful and gives great advice! He did get off topic a little but that is what kept class interesting.. If your dumb don't take him if your smart and don't need someone to hold your hand he's the best!
He is the best. He teaches pretty well. He is helpful and makes math easy and clear for me to understand :)If you understand the section he is teaching that day, you may leave early. He don't make you buy the textbook just recommends you to buy the access code. He rarely gives out homework. He gives us worksheet to practice on and its very helpful
Do not take him. He is awful at teaching and very confusing. He talks more about fantasy football and his beliefs than math. I had to go to tutoring every week because he barely teaches anything, and his tests are difficult.
Best math teacher ever
I wish I could say he was a good teacher, but he is not. Always gets off topic and runs late daily.He is a very nice guy and wants to care, but is so scattered. If you need guidance and good examples on the board, use someone else. If you feel you can do it on your own, then maybe he is your guy.
I really enjoyed this class. If you need help, you can ask and he will help you. If you need help, do not leave class early so he can work with you. He gives you worksheets, and if you take the time to do and practice the problems, you will understand the material. Every math class requires effort. Mr. English is a great professor.
He is a great teacher. He is very clear when he teaches. No need for textbook. He runs late. He not strict on attendances. He gets off topic once in a while lol :)
The guy is pretty funny. But, when it comes to teaching - he isn't the greatest. I liked him as a person but as a teacher he just isn't great. He gets way too distracted and the examples he gives just get zoomed through. If you ask for help he's there. But general explanation is sorely lacking. Be cautious if you take him. Also, he tends to be late
I'm taking his class right now. There's a program called Aleks that a lot of the professors are using right now. Most professors integrate it into their class- he plain relies on it to teach students. Yeah he'll go over things here and there, but then he'll let you out early and you're on your own. He's all over the place. Going to need a tutor.
He actuallly is a very good teacher. He's super nice and laidback. He helps when you need it. He does like to go off subject once in a while but its nothing that you will mind. He goes over topics quick because he gets straight to the point but he makes learning super easy. I hated math until i took his class.
He is a very nice guy and his class was super easy but be warned you will not learn anything! His class is basically a hybrid class. He doesn't know how to teach he just makes us work off aleks. I honestly left the class learning nothing. I am so unprepared for math 70. I don't recommend taking him if you want to actually learn.
Professor English is a nice guy, but i not a very good professor. If you are bad at math, do not take him. He speeds through lessons and problems. Yes, he is funny, but half of the time he doesn't even talk about math.

I thought I signed up for a lecture class, not an online class, you spend the whole class working on a website called Alex which is the most frustrating and Time consuming thing on earth I would spend hours on that website to no avail. Very nice man but I rarely remember him teaching. Would only recommend if you already know the material.
Mr. English goes the extra mile to make sure you understand the subject. There were lots of group activities. Good class.
Getting tests back from him is like ordering something from china, by the time it comes you already forgot you ordered it. Amazing guy, just needs to slow down and give a clear concise lecture.
He is a nice and hilarious person BUT don't take him if you're expecting a professor that goes step by step. You pretty much have to study on your own and teach yourself. He is good at helping you if you ask questions in person( not through email). His tests are really difficult but is a generous grader. Attend class daily to receive points.

BUSINESS MAJORS YOU WILL NEED TO LEARN STATS FOR FUTURE COURSES AT A CAL STATE! His lectures are useless does not know how to teach this subject, completely unorganized,tardy. Would go off topic towards politics, personal life, religion. I ended up self teaching myself based off the book and YouTube vids. Did not learn anything from this man.
I took MATH073 over intersession. Despite it being only 4 weeks to learn everything it was very well structured. I took the hybrid course but we basically had the entire class time to work on homework which was all online. Professor English is very nice and helpful I will be taking him for math 130 am hoping its as good as 073!
I was actually suppose to be in a calculus class but I decided to go back to pre-cal to freshen up my memory a bit. He was so confusing, trailed off so much and messed up on his own examples, I actually don't even know pre-calculus anymore. He will write examples but he will just talk it out and doesn't articulate very well. Just dont...
Took this class in last fall for Pre-stats I got a A in his class he was always willing to help his student and his test are not extreme if you do the homework you will pass.
Unclear, talks to fast, messes up own examples. Took class to freshen memory of pre calc & he was SO confusing (& I PASSED PRE CALC BEFORE). I am pretty decent at math but I barely passed his 1st test. REALLY NEED to study, basically taught myself the material. He is funny, but he gets sidetracked alot & is always behind schedule.
Mr. English is a very nice prof and he cares about his students but he has trouble staying on track during lectures. Most days he spent over 45 minutes talking about personal stories. He also often makes mistakes while teaching and you don't learn much from lectures. Read the textbook and do practice problems! Tests aren't that hard if you study.
good man, interesting. But can't teach. not organized. always messing up his example. office hours very helpful, a good one-on-one teacher. he takes a long time to tell personal stories in class. The final is not difficult. need to study and read by yourself. I can bring two A4 notes for my final exam. Exam content is similar to the practice final
Three test, and final. Class is designed with the use of ALEKS. Homework is assigned daily, including weekends. Professor is very accessible if help is needed and truly helps you until you understand. Very patient and funny. Extra Credit is offered! If no effort is taken, or HW isn't being done during the semester, it will be difficult.
Class based on Aleks. Super chill guy helps you when you need it. Gives examples on board but does not teach lecture everything based on Aleks. Quizzes everyday of class
Mr. English is a good teacher, if you ever need help you can reach out to him and he will take the time to help you he is always available. Also gives extra credit, he uses ALEKS which i liked but if you don't like that program then you shouldn't take his class. Do all your assignments and get a good grade on the tests and you will pass.

Amazing professor, great lectures, plenty of resources available, ALEKS is going to be your best friend during the semester, have patience.
Dr. English is absolutely amazing for this course. Everything is completed on WebAssign. Just have homework, a couple of quizzes, and exams. He provides practice assignments for the exams that are mostly the same as the actual exams. If you do the homework at least the day before the due date, extra points would be added. Overall, highly recommend.
Prof. English is a pretty laid back and cool dude. As a professor however, he definitely isn't the best. He is ALWAYS late and I mean ALWAYS late. His style of teaching is very chaotic and disorganization that I basically taught myself the entire term. He is also lazy about submitting grades and overall unorganized as a professor.
Cameron is a decent professor considering Calculus II to be a difficult subject. He has a tendency to show up LATE and YAP about is political ideologies. I often find his lectures to be inconsistent. Sometimes is really insightful and other times it js everywhere and I find myself self-studying. HE DOES NOT CURVE. Our last exam's median was 64% btw
