He seems nice at first, but NEVER dare have your own opinion in his class!
He's good.
His project is confusing and quite a bit of work, but you'll end up with a good grade. His tests are EASY!!!
Would not mind the confusion if the class was not so boring. Projects were a mess, overblown, but still an easy A.

Has knowledge on subject matter, but tests were on a lot of detailed information.
Cameron makes the class a little bit interesting with discussions, but the projecs are stupid and tedious.
Dr. Ford's class was very interesting. He is very passionate about his area of Management and wants student to feel passionate also. I enjoyed his class and look forward to having him again.
Lectures could stand to move along a little faster. It's pretty much an easy class with a couple fun exercises thrown in. He's also pretty straight forward about what he'll test you on.
He is one of my favorite professors in UCF. Very knowledgeble and helpful. His lectures are great, tests could be a bit challenging.
Class material is mostly academic—negligible real-word application. Assigned material is boring, and relevance is sometimes questionable. Course paper assignment is idiotic, yet time consuming. Virtual Leader program is a waste of money. Tests are challenging.
Dr. Ford is a great professor; he's very knowledgeable and is passionate about what he's doing. Lots of reading for each class, no textbook. He expect class participation each week on material. Essay tests and project are challenging. Lectures are a little long, however he keeps it interesting.
He seemed like he really put in a lot of work into this class and was very passionate about the subject. Made sure we were learning. Very nice man. Great prof!
Prof Ford gives a TON of reading and this takes up a lot of your time. However, class is interesting with lots of videos and activities and he tells you EXACTLY what will be on the test. You do have to study hard to memorize it all.
Course very academic with little/no real world application. I found downloading/printing over 300+ pages of unrelated articles annoying. No assigned text, but still had to pay $60 for absolutely useless Virtual Leader, $20 for supplemental book, $45 for 3 modules from text.
Graduate MAN6245. Material not particularly hard, but there's a LOT of reading. Exams were essay format. Slides are not very helpful. You must read everything and attend lecture in order to do well. Information is not very useful, however, in the real world. A lot of theory.
Class material is mostly academic—negligible real-word application. Assigned material's relevance is questionable. Course paper assignment is time consuming and of no value. Virtual Leader program is a waste of money. Tests are challenging and grading subjective. Memorization testing.
I dont get class. He harps about the practical aspects of the course, but I just dont see it. Lot of busy work and reading.
The bad:keeps you the whole time, gives stupid irrelevant examples, too much to read between lectures, project is busy work. The good: As long as you put in the time to keep up w/the readings, and really study for the tests(do a study guide as well it will help you) you get an A+ easily. Definety plan your schedule to take that class with him.
I enjoyed Dr. Ford's class. He brings a lot of energy to every class and tries to involve and keep everyone on the ball. He invests a lot in his students and expect us to read the materials and study for the test; which is the least you do in grad school. Definitely recommend him.
He is a self-absorbed egomaniac.
Easy A, but horrible instructor. Lectures are boring and way too drawn out. He has no practical experience, but wants to act like he does. Tests are easy, just memorize. Don't learn much, but get an A. Don't ask him questions, b/c he's not clear on what he wants you to do for the project. Project was pointless. Try to take another professor!
Ford is an easy teacher. He is a bit unorganized and will keep you past class time by 5-10 min every time. The structure of the class has you practically finished 4 wks prior to finals. Allowing plenty of study time for other classes.
Lectures include way more information than you need to know. He likes to talk about himself a lot. There pretty pointless to watch. If you read the book, study his lecture notes, and watch/read his postings before the test, the class should be a solid B fairly easy A.
Dr. Ford is extremely enthusiastic about the growth of UCF, and his hand in the Entrepreneurship center which he mentioned every lecture. The course itself which is newly developed has many holes which I hope will be ironed out by next semester. The tests can be tricky laden with overlapping academic terminology. Conceptual info was interesting.
I found his lectures interesting and relevant, but I don't think the exams were structured well around the suject matter and not a good indicator of proficiency relative to the subject matter.
Somewhat unorganized; however, this could be due to incompletely revised course structure. He likes to talk about himself and what he's doing at the university, but also supports the growth of the university. Watching the lectures does not add to learning, just do the readings (book and lecture slides) and the assignments, for a solid B.
The class is way too much material, I gon a B and I read every single chapter in the book and watched all the videos he wants you to watch. Tests are very tricky and he changes everything that the book says, so it bemose very confusing. Overall tricky but if you put effort u'll pass it.
This guy is sooo boring! He referenced all the material to his job at the college and his 2 years at IBM. Who Cares! He also has no idea how to write exam questions. Stay away from UCF business program if you want to avoid his influence. He pushed for an e-book that is a peice of garbage. I think this one of my worst experiences in college ever
Textbook online and way overpriced, tried to shut it down on us during exam time when we payed $99 for it! Makes exams harder and more complicated than they need to be.
He was a good professor and think he need to work a little more on his testing questions. The testing questions are very confusing and tricky and long at the same time.
New e-text was absolute crap. Links & videos didn't work half the time, and the "voice" of the author(s) seemed to change, even in the middle of a chapter. Prof. often disagreed with the book and sometimes went with it anyway, other times taught something else. Test questions were tricky, but not in an academically challenging way.
The Lectures were boring!!!!! Fell asleep several times. His reviews were a waste of time. The only time he actually really helped us out was for the last test. He actually went through each slide and told us which ones were important. I would not take him again. He's the only one teaching Cornerstone at the moment, Good Luck!
pretty cool teacher, pretty much only cornerstone teacher. good test maker, need to study what he says to study. Very clear on what he wants. most important thing about cornerstone is finding a good group and good lab teacher
I think Dr. Ford is a fantastic professor. He was entertaining and straight-forward. His tests are a little tricky but they come stright from the slides and lectures...just learn the material and be able to apply it in different contexts and you will be fine. Overall wonderful class!
Decent class, useful info. Ebook is a waste of money. Lecture notes he provided are very helpful! I didn't purchase the book and watched as many videos as I could without using the book. I would recommend just posting all the videos on the course site. $100 for a book that you cant sell back sucks! $100 x 1200 students = $$$ for ebook publisher
Took online version. Watch lectures at a faster speed-makes it go by quicker. Tests are sort of hard, but easier if you watch lectures, read book, and study. Some EC available at end of the semester.
watch lectures in 1.6 speed to make it go by faster..lectures are painful. His tests are almost impossible. I got C's on all of them and I'm a very diligent student. MEMORIZE the slides and you'll do fine. and be sure to read the tests questions carefully because there is always more than one correct answer, you have to choose the best...it sucks
have a chance dont take him, however hs is the only one who teachs cornerstone. the tests are hard even though study got an 65 on the test, test not relate to the power point n do alot of report+ discuess with the team =wasteing my time
This guy is sooo boring! He referenced all the material to his job at the college and his 2 years at IBM. Who Cares! He also has no idea how to write exam questions tricky and hard impossible to pass. He pushed for an e-book that is a peice of garbage. I think this one of my worst experliences in college ever. The Lectures were boring!!! Fell asleep
Lectures are garbage. The most unfair tests i've ever seen. He gives 2 correct answers and you have to choose the best correct answer, its utter ****. I had a good group for the class and that was my only saving grace. Sucks you cant avoid this professor and his horrible tests.
Everyone says that cornerstone class is hard, but the exams are pretty easy if you study the powerpoints.
He is an awesome teacher. Very fair. He tells you what is on the exams and often takes out questions that were tricky. His lectures are clear and he tries to make it interesting. He is really into what he teaches and into feedback from students. However, you do have to use your brain to pass.
I didn't care for this class at all. I feel like it is very redundent from other courses you are required to take as a business major. His tests are horrible. The group work is annoying. I found him quite boring. The e-text sucks. Overall, if I could've avoided the class I would'v what a waste of time and money.
Dr. Ford is a nice guy but his tests were difficult and confusing! He was happy with an average test on exam 1 of 78%. I was disappointed. The class lectures are boring.
The dude needs to stop writing his test questions the week of the test because you have to read them half a dozen times before they make any sense. You can go over the material all you want, but you need a cypher to make sense of what he's trying to ask on the tests.
Dr. Ford is the worst! Makes you do a computer program that doesn't work and causes students tons of hours of work. He makes his test impossible by the way he words things when you already work hard enough for the lab. Should not be a doctor or teaching anymore!
This class is horrible. Ford blames the students when the test averages are low, when in reality he simply makes the questions hard on purpose when the material itself is easy. My best suggestion would be to get a more fair lab instructor that will raise your average up. Oh, and he likes to talk about himself in class alot and even on his exams.
AGHH!!! Boring! Takes 2 hours to go over 4 PowerPoint slides! His exams are horrible, the questions just don?t make sense. The hardest part of cornerstone is not the service project, its virtual leader. It dropped my grade from an A+ to a C b/c I couldn?t figure it out. Too bad you don?t have a choice because he is the only one who teaches it.
Had a big problem with this class. Virtual leader is total crap, unrealistic and frustrating. Half the damn time it skips past ur grade each try, leaving u with nothing. Tests were awful, every question is a matter of opinion, no clear right or wrong answer!!! Hope Ford reads these things.CHANGE YOUR TEST QUESTIONS DUDE!!!
This class is ridiculous I can honestly say I didnt learn a thing from this class. The tests are a joke they make no sense at all. Virtual leader is a waste of time, and his lectures are BORING. Unfortunately you have to take this class and hes the only one who teaches it so good luck.
Ok, Seriously? How is this guy still teaching? Honestly, cool guy. Great enthusiasm for what he's teaching, but that's as far as it goes. Tests are just plain rediculous. vLeader is like a whole another class in itself. The group aspect of Cornerstone was the easiest. The tests and lecture as just stoopid. Good luck, you'll need it.
This class should be an 8 credit course. Be prepared to waste a lot of time that you will never get back. Lectures are long and dry, watch them at 1.5 speed. VLeader is complete BS, what a waste. The tests are extremely difficult. Dr. Ford would probably score a 90 on his own test. Lab is the worst part of all. Good luck it?s a requirement.
This class is crazy. It seriously should be an 8 credit class. Dr. Fords lectures are long and dry (BORING!!!!)
Unfortunately this class is required. The project and Lab work is enough to be a 4 credit class. The labs are unorganized, the lectures are pointless and the tests are opinionated with no clear cut answer and hard to figure out what's even being asked. Most everything in the course seems like common sense, until he asks it to be applied. Enjoy!!
he is horrible. ucf needs a new cornerstone instructor.
There is no doubt that this class is difficult, at best. The lab section of cornerstone is not so bad, just be sure to get into a group. The tests are objective and very specific. Know and understand the reading material and do the test yourself and you'll pass.
Unfortunately this class is required and you don't get any option in teacher. There is no point watching the lectures I watched a total of 2 this year and got a B+. I also did not use the textbook once except to get the worksheets that you have to turn in. The class really isn't hard and Ford isn't a bad guy just not good at teahing in my opinion.
Dr. Ford is a good guy, the material he teaches should not take 1 1/2 hrs each lecture though, which is why i increased play speed every time! Not the most interesting teacher, more animated in person. Study his slides and e-text practice tests.
easy course... he sure likes to talk about himself though, it gets annoying.
Ford is an average professor. He pretty much just reads the powerpoint slides. The tests are fine as long as you memorize the slides and do the practice test in the e-text. An A is easy to pull off if you get a good group and lab prof. (Viggiano). Virtual leader blows though. I actually had nightmares after the semester about it.
His teaching is pretty clear & The exams are not bad as long as you study the power points and read some of the chapters. However, my issue with him is he's politcally liberal and he should keep his opinions to himself. He was mad at Bush for calling Iran, North Korea, and Cuba the axis of evil & he used power point slides for Barack Osama.
I don't know who gave Cameron Ford good ratings but they were probably the students with no life & had too much time on their hands to devote to cornerstone! I worked so hard only to end up with a B in the class. His exam average were ALWAYS less than a 72, and I truthfully do not know ANYONE who got an A in this course! He is so boring!!
My only problem with him is that he drags out the lectures to be 1:15 every time when the material could be taught in half that. It's very frustrating to sit and watch talk about nonsense just to fill time. The lectures are straight out of the e-text so if you miss class it's not that big of a deal. The test questions are very wordy so be careful.
The project was kinda cool and gave us real world xp, the Virtual Leader software was epic failure, and the lectures were totally useless. If Ford hadn't said one word and just showed us the slides we would have been better off. Plus, the guy cusses in an attempt to relate to us...annoying.
I watched a total of about 3-4 lectures the entire semester, the whole time saying to myself, "GET TO THE POINT." He seriously wastes so much time dragging out things that I just quit watching lectures. The things you learn actually doing the project are priceless, but Ford's lecture is a complete waste of time. Finished with an A-.
The course material is excellent. I believe his ppt slides are little boring. You need to pay attention and do his assignments. You have to work for this grade and to do so is by understanding the material. He is hard, but you can pass with good notes. And good study habits.
Worst teacher I've ever had. Don't think I made it through one lecture the whole semester, he is soo boring! All tests are bogus, I don't think anyone ever passes. Virtual Leader HUGE waste of time, and the project is RIDICULOUS! Ended up just costing me more money! This class is like an initiation ritual into the college of business...
Dr. Ford is so boring! He rambles on forever on his lectures that its pointless to watch! His test are so hard, and the average scores that people get is 70%, and he doesn't even curve the test. The project part is a breeze, but the lecture part Dr. Ford just makes it very difficult.
This was the hardest class I ever took. The teacher is annoying, and just reads off the ppt slides. The lab part is very easy as long as you are in the good group. Also, I learned so much in the lab but the lecture part is useless.
Ughhhhhhhh!!! His test absolutely DO NOT make sense. I studied so hard for the first 2 but still didn't make an A because his qstns are so "opinionated and subjective" as he says. You don't really hve a choice since he's the only guy teaching it, so good luck! LAb is ok AS LONG as u get a good group! Game is a waste of time! Useless class!!!!!!
One of the worst lectures to watch, he just rambles on to the point you want to fall asleep.. Tests arent too bad but have to read the harvard material and do the test questions .. Got a B in the class
Professor Ford is a really nice guy but his lectures are soooo boring. I kept falling asleep when I tried watching them. He rambles on and reads off the powerpoint slides. He could probably shorten the lecture to 30 minutes if he would just get to the point. Virtual Leader is the dumbest thing I've ever done! Tests are impossible!
I got a B in his class and never watched a lecture or read the textbook. Just studied PP slides a couple hours before. I'm sorry but when your in summer and the lectures are 2 hours long * 3 a week it is just too much time. Lab is the most important part and is fun. Ford is boring and makes his tests ambiguous. Don't waste your effort on lecture.
This class was difficult for me. His lectures are absoutely boring and put me to sleep. The exam questions don't make any sense. I did bad on the first 2 exams but after reading all the material, studying the slides and listening to the lectures (I would listen to them at work) I was able to get a good grade on the last exam.
Constantly made changes on the fly about course requirement/grading. Spends about an hour talking about 5 PP slides, very boring. Made the class buy a computer program for $50 that was still in beta and didn't work. Feels successful when the class test avg. is sub 70%. Somehow scored an A- which was way above class average.
Not as bad as previous reviews. The subject tends to be repetitive and bland at times. I think he's a pretty good professor as far as his "teaching abilities" are. For exams it is important to MEMORIZE his slides right before hand and skim the Harvard readings. The exams are a moderately easy "B" with some dedication to his slides you can get an A
His tests come from the powerpoint slides and in-class examples. Never really watched the lectures, just memorized study guides sent out by generous students. Got an A on the first 2 exams. The lab part is fun. Take Viggiano for the lab, great guy. Course project isn't too bad...its mostly busy work.
The lectures were so boring to me, I could never get myself to watch one without falling asleep. Read the reading assignments and PP slides and you shoud do good. Take Gary Nichols for the lab section, he is fun.
Very boring lectures. Very repititve and always keeps you for the whole time. It's not his fault, it's just a really boring subject.
Lectures are long and boring usually, if you watch them online you can speed them up so he talks faster, then they take less time. He is very self-absorbed and likes himself. Curves the test grades as needed. Overall not too bad. Study his slides carefully.
Lectures are repetitive as others have said. He knows this because he constantly says "I hate to beat a dead horse.." haha. I enjoyed the class though. I recommend watching the lectures & studying his slides. Someone mentioned his foul language & I agree that it can be a little annoying. He is the only professor for the lecture part of GEB3031.
Dr. Ford is self absorbed and knows that he is completely wasting your time. Unfortunately he is the only prof for lecture and taking him is inevitable. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME WATCHING THE LECTURES, or reading his E-text just study the student posted guides before the test. Not too bad if you chose not to take him seriously. I got a B. Good luck
Only prof. who teaches lecture section of Cornerstone. He is not as bad as everyone says, he just has alot to teach & it is not really that exciting. In order to do well you must read harvard, watch his lectures, & pay attention to pp's. He does curve the tests. I think he is a good prof.
His lectures are very boring and tests are difficult. He knows a lot about management but spends way too much time talking about the entrepreneurship program instead of teaching
Required class and he's the only teachers. I watch lectures in the background while taking notes on the powerpoints myself, because they can get tedious. He is generous when going over test questions and giving more points. He means well, but the tests are very specific. NO BOOK only online readings - Take the HMM practice exams. Very helpful.
I realized too late reading the on-line readings is a must to pass any of his tests. You're better off to speed through the lectures, watch the videos and read every bit of the Harvard readings and take the practice tests! He tells you from the beginning to do all three...and he's right!
THIS is not an easy class but if you study the material and understand the terms you will be o.k. Don't wait till a few days before the test then it's too late. Keep up with the chapter/lecture. You'll be able to get a good grade WITH studying.
I took this class via video stream,so i never met the professor in person although you can attend his class if you prefer to. material can get overwhelming if you don't keep up with the lectures videos and Harvard readings.exams are tricky and sometimes there is more than one answer to the same question.
The lectures drag on. Lots of filler BS that he uses to extend his lecture time. Biggest D-BAG at UCF. Worst professor I've had thus far. Only professor that teaches cornerstone. Has to supplement with online videos because he has no idea what the hell he is talking about. There shouldn't even be a teacher for this portion of the class.

As previously stated he is the only professor that teaches the course - this course is a waste of time! It was horrible, make sure you watch the lectures, videos he shows during the lectures, and read the Harvard. The tests are hard & have more than one answer that could be correct. It's MC thats the only good thing.
HATE HIM!!! HATE THE CLASS!! WASTE OF TIME... LAB SHOULD BE WORTH MORE THEN THIS BORING CLASS!!
This class is HORRIBLE!! The lab is a 1 credit hour class but it TAKES SO MUCH OF YOUR TIME! U HAVE TO VOLUNTEER!! Really?! Lectures is even worse!! HE IS SO BORING! He is such a DULL professor! No fun examples, no interaction, NOTHING! WHAT A WASTE OF TIME! This class should be optional! Tests are tricky!
Dr. Ford was contradictory so don't NOT study for something because he said he won't test you on it b/c he might. His tests were difficult, but if you study the HMM and watch the lecture, you SHOULD do fine. I didn't find his lectures boring, but they did last about 3 hours. I took the class online so I could pause and break often.
Dr. Ford is not a bad teacher. He can get a little bit boring since the lecture is 3 hours, but he tries to break it up with videos and other sources of info. "Book" only costs $14. However, the class itself is a waste of time.96 hrs over the semester for the lab is ridiculous! Same information taught in the other core business classes.
HIS CLASS IS NOT THAT BAD HE TELLS YOU EXACTLY WHAT TO STUDY AND CURVES THE TEST GRADES. READ THE BOOK AND LISTEN TO LECTURES AT THE SAME TIME. THE ONLY THING I HATED WAS THE LAB... THAT WAS SERIOUSLY A WASTE OF TIME. IF HE TOOK OUT THE LAB THIS CLASS WOULD BE GREAT
I'm all for exams at this level of education being tough, but if you are going to teach this much info for EACH test, give the students a study guide. Each test consists of 15+ hours of lecture, 100+ pages of readings and over 100+ slides. He gives no review or guide, and you only grade is off of the exams. Only prof for this class, it sucks
I watched the lecture halfway through once-extremely boring like they say so i decided to stop that. I stuck to notes, practice questions and power points from then on. So far I have a B+ which is above average. If you really have the time and patience-watch the lectures....but its not necessary. The book is $14. The lab SUCKS but is required.
This has to be the worst class at UCF. It's funny that people say below they are passing...Out of 1600 students, 11% are passing! He gives u EXTREMELY INFORMATION OVERLOAD! 6 sections for one test that was taught in 3 classes. He's the only professor for this course. He doesn't teach you anything useful!I HATED THIS SEMESTER!NO Studyguides, No reviews
His class is boring, the content is useless and his exams are very difficult. The exams have nothing to do with the lectures! The questions are very vague. I hated this class with the passion.
This class is tough. Dr. Ford cares about his students. This class is what you make of it.
Lectures do drag on..and on..and on. Concepts are easy to understand but the way they're presented on the test are very frustrating and have more than one answer. Memorize the ppts and you'll get a B. While greatly qualified, the professor is very full of himself and it gets annoying. Class SUCKS
If you have to take Cornerstone you're going to have to take him, so there's no point in reading the reviews. However, this class isn't difficult, just very time consuming. Study all the PowerPoints and skim the HMM lessons, then focus on applying what you've learned. That and the HMM practice Q's will prepare you for the test. Lab - take Viggiano.
this class is hard. his lectures are boring. Study power points, read HHM, do practice questions. try to understand what the concepts are all about. I got an A, it is possible, but I really studied for the class. Good luck.
You HAVE to read the textbook (HMM). It's really good information and it will, more than anything else, prepare you for the tests. I have to say that I found the test questions a little scary because they seemed so vague, but he curves the tests so it kind of balances it out. I got an A - barely; so you can do it.
The first day I watched HALF of one of the boring lectures. I never watched another. His self-described "rich baritone" is used for NOTHING more than reading those tired PP slides. I decided to just read the HMM. I got a B on every test but the one I took notes for. Go figure. His test questions were hard to understand because of the bad grammar.
Cornerstone sucks AND Cameron writes very confusing exams! Dont expect to make an A in this class EVER! Having said that, you dont even have to watch the lectures to make a passing grade. I made a B+ and I only watched the first lecture. After that, i just used his powerpoints and studied those. Also, the HMM was a COMPLETE WASTE OF MONEY.
I don't get why everyone says this class is so hard. I made an A and never watched a single lecture. On exam day, I spent the morning looking at the PPTs and the HMM "Learn" section for the first time. He curves the exams. The DB is outta control, overrun by transfer students freaking out publicly. Grade is comprised of exams only...
Every one is screwed because you have to take him for GEB 3031.His entire class is based on 4 test,Which is pretty straight forward, like many classes. He also knows what he talks about. My problem w/him is that many of the questions and answers are opinion based, and unless you agree with his views you wont do well.Im a great student,I barely passed.
Talk about boring, this guy will put you to sleep with his weekly 3 hour long lectures where he goes over 12 slides. Grade is comprised of 4 exams, all of which are tough because of the wording/grammar. What sucks the most is you HAVE to take this class with Ford, he is the only one teaching it. Just read the slides and HHM learning section.
His lectures can drag on a little and be kind of boring but overall he tries to keep it interesting. The material seems like such common sense but the tests are tricky. He always curves but its tough to get an A on them. There are only 4 tests and make sure you use HMM to help study because questions come from there. If you work an A is possible
WORST class at UCF! WHAT a joke! He has to be the most conceited professor ever! He gives no reviews, nothing! Tests are TRICKY! He has no clue what feels like to listen to his 3 hour lectures! I HATED THIS CLASS! Unless you're fresh out of HS and don't work--this is class is for you. He shows no empathy for noone. GOOD LUCK!
He makes the class harder than it needs to be. A lot of the material is obvious, and it appears that way on the test. Memorize the powerpoint slides and HMM ?s and you will be fine. Dr. Ford is a good guy. With so many students, you really have to seek out his help, if you want it.
He is really not that bad. If you study his power points and that is it you will be ok. As long as your memorize the slides he gives you will get atleast a C no problem if not better since some of the stuff is common sense.
Horrible horrible teacher. His rambling does not follow his tests. And his tests are on stuff that makes no sense. Shrink your head down a little dude and maybe get to our level.
Dr Ford is a good guy, a little self-absorbed but still a good guy. His lectures are SUPER BORING. This guy takes nearly 3 hours to go over a 25 slide power point. There?s no homework. Your grades come from the 4 tests. Study his power points and the practice exams in the book. Good Luck!!
Believe what the others have said, the lectures drag on forever and the test questions are not the right answer but the best answer so it's tricky. He does review the test and withdraw questions he deems too vague.
My favorite class this semester. The material seems like common sense, but that truly is 20/20 hindsight. I've learned a lot and I think this has been one of my most useful classes. He is extremely intelligence, respectful, and knows what he is talking about. I would work for this man if he gave me the opportunity lol. Class is interesting =)
im in my 4th year of Finance and this teacher is RIDICULOUS!! I have never seen a teacher with such a big head about himself. He purposely makes the class hard and tries to trick you on every question when the material is so easy!FOR WHAT!? he thinks his class takes precedence over others. And he purposely schedules exams the same week as others!
The concepts are very easy to understand ...most of it is common sense "BUT" This guy draaaaaags it making so complicated that you'll get lost and most likely miss a lot of his tricky test questions!! Great material and Class but what a SHAME UCF for letting this guy discourage the students with his BS fillers!!!!
BS-ly will waiste 3 hours of your life each week with a 12 page PPT slides. His exams are set ups for failures to excercise his "Upper hand" Coz he ultimately feels like a God!!! what a D-Bag!!! This needs To stop ASAP
The material is on easy, common sense information but he makes the tests super complicated. Don't bother watching lectures or reading HMM. Study the ppt notes and you'll be fine!
Not a bad class at all. Useful concepts for business. Skip the HMM readings and study the PowerPoints. Fairly easy A.
Like many of the comments say on here, this class is completely pointless and Dr. Ford is unfortunately the online professor available. The information is common sense, yet he tries to make it sound like it's more difficult than it is. The only thing you need to do is memorize the power points. He is boring and drags everything out.
Used the "CourseMob" application for the iPhone, studied all of his PowerPoints and got a solid "B" in the class. Cameron Ford is an inspirational guy. Lectures are not THAT boring. UCF gave him a 3 hour period to teach. He founded the Entrepreneurship center at UCF and promotes it a lot. He wants to help students build their Resumes. Great guy.
You actually learn things that you'll use in the real world, even if this class did annoy me beyond belief. The tests are kind of ridiculous. Know all his powerpoints by heart and you'll be just fine
Forward through lectures to the videos and articles because he provides you with the powerpoints and you can review those on your own. The tests mostly cover the powerpoints. Straight forward, but you do need to study for a good amount of time before exams. Got an A.
I got an A. You can't watch the lectures too many times. Read the HMM's carefully, and be sure to take the practice problems on there.
Easy enough class as far as material goes, But exams are complicated and confusing. Absolutely no make up on exams. I missed one exam and when I explained to him what happened he just said better luck next semester. Cost me $800 to take it again.
Material is easy. Exams are tricky and opinion based. Usually 2 good answers to each question. Hated his â??notâ?? questions in every exam which were meant to confuse readers. If you are a good test taker and share his opinions, you will do well. For the rest of us, good luck.
The class was interesting and I imagine that a lot of the stuff that we learned will come in handy in the future. The tests were far from fair however, and it seemed almost like he was trying to trick you. Almost every answer was correct and you had to choose which answer was the MOST correct! A's are impossible, be happy w/ ur B or C and move on
The information is useless. It is all common sense. However the tests are ridiculously hard. They are entirely opinion based (which of these MOST...) and even after memorizing every powerpoint for each exam I had trouble with them. He is very understanding and will let you make up tests for legit reasons, not "Oh I forgot".
Tests cover the powerpoints. Some terms are vague on the slides but if you read your HMM you will understand. I never watched the lectures, got an A. My advice is study the powerpoints and read the HMM to understand the concepts a little better.
Takes random topics and tries to elaborate on them and make it seem like your learning something. pointless class. dont need to study to get a b. if you want the A dont do anything just memorize the power point to a t.
Had him for cornerstone he's pretty easy tbh. I read a lot of people complaining about his exams but to me it's all common sense. Wake up kids this is college not every class is going to be a sleep through. Read the slides, watch the lectures and read the HMMs. Basically do the work and it's very easy. Boring teacher, not helpful but easy.
This class is not as bad as some people are making it out to be. This is college and you need to study. The exams were easy; just study the power points AND read the HMM. I got an A-.
One of the worst professors at UCF. Pointless class full of useless information
Took online in the summer. Super easy. Watched every lecture at 1.5 speed and read every one of his power points right before taking the exams. With this it was an easy A. Never read the Harvard Business Journal he said was necessary.
This is an easy class and Dr. Ford makes it interesting enough, it doesn't help its a 3 hour class though. Tests are easy. Just study the powerpoint slides and re-watch the videos he shows during the lectures. If you dont get an A or B, you shouldn't be a business major.
Not sure why everyone complains about this class so much. It's pretty easy, mostly common sense. Memorize the powerpoints, read the HMM, and watch the videos and you'll do fine. An A is definitely possible in contrast to those who say it's not. Basically, just do the work you're supposed to do.
I have never left a review before but I felt the need to do it. I am watching one lecture now and just wanted to warn everyone of how hard it is to sit through a 3 hour lecture from this guy. Never watch a lecture please, just memorize the power points watch the youtube videos and take the exams. you will get at least a B+
You don't need the textbook, just use the power point slides. In class he dwells on each slide for such a long time but it helps in the end because you have a lot of videos and examples to tie the material to. I would definitely recommend watching all the lectures, they may be long but if you aren't going to read the book you might need them.
This class is actually not as bad as people say. Straight forward material and exam questions, just read them carefully. Hardest part is the lab, make sure you get a good group.
Not a terrible class, prof is a good public speaker so he doesn't really put you to sleep -it's the 3 hours of sitting there that will get to you. The tests require strong knowledge of the material so it is helpful to listen to lectures & read the HHM material to get a good grasp on it. Do the HW, he counts 4 out of 5 tests & offers extra credit
Watching the lectures is tough since they're 3 hours but it pays off. Memorize his powerpoints and rewatch his videos before tests and you should know the material.
A lot of the test is from the HMM articles, so study those well. He is fun to listen to. I always plugged in headphones to my laptop so I could listen to him and play COD at the same time :) It made it easier to sit there for 3 hours. Very straightforward class. Easy if you review the material and watch the lectures.
He is such a great professor! Wish his tests were based on lectures since he is so captivating. Unfortunately there is no reason to watch them. Study his power points and HMM and you will do fine. If you want examples watch the lectures. Ford is funny and an amazing speaker.
Professor is an awesome speaker and a good teacher. The material isn't that useful but he makes it as interesting as possible. Memorize the powerpoints and take notes on the videos he shows and you'll get an A.
This guy was so full of himself, it is really unfortunate that he is the only prof. that teaches this course. Useless information, tricky exams, and just plain boring material
he is generally a nice guy and cornerstone is not as bad as everyone makes it out to be. even though he speaks well, the lectures are boring because they are so long but there are a lot of interesting videos he puts in. as for the tests i would read the HMM and memorize the power points, they are not as bad as everyone says.
He is certainly not full of himself. His lectures were very encouraging, and entertaining. His tests were more logical than textbook or lecture based. If you can think outside of the box, you will probably do well in this class. You will need to watch the lectures, as there are a few questions that pertain to the videos and material he lectures on.
All i did was watch the lecture (did the dual view on windows, one side lecture, other side powerpoint and notes), day of the exam i'd study the videos and go over the powerpoint (NOT memorize). Got a 88+ on all the exams! And I'm a pretty average test taker. Just gotta focus and trudge through the lectures. Did not open or used the Harvard thing
Hands down worst online class I've taken. Only class where the online lectures NEVER work and the material solely comes from the lecture. No textbook. Each lecture is nearly three hours of boring, monotone, uninteresting material. This class could be taught significantly better
This is the most boring video streaming class I've taken. The lectures are very long and boring and the material is just uninteresting. On top of that, the tests are a bit confusing. There is no textbook used for this class. The class could have definitely been taught significantly better.
This is the most boring online class. Professor Ford is a horrible professor. He goes talks about pointless stories. The material is so uninteresting. There is no textbook. The tests are so situational making it impossible to study for the test.
Ford seems like a nice guy, but teaching this class was not his thing. VERY boring. Study material UNCLEAR. It's hard to study for tests because he just rambles during lectures.
Easy class! Go over the powerpoints, harvard readings, and you should be set for each exam. Exam is mostly applications but if you understand the material then youre golden. Material is easy and mostly common sense. Via response homeworks-free points for the most part. Some extra credit offered. No need to watch the class lectures really. Easy A
Dr. Ford's a great lecturer. I actually found the course pretty interesting, and amazingly simple for a 3000 level class. Watch the lectures and go over the powerpoint slides. Easy A
didn't go to lecture. didn't watch lecture videos. still made A+. most of the stuff is base of his PowerPoints and understanding base on Harvard Manager. he curves test by 10 points and gives many extra points and extra credit opportunities. hard to not make at least a B. he's a nice guy and funny in his lectures and cares about students.
It may not be effortless to get the best grade, but it will likely not be too difficult either. However, he did mention that the structure of the course will be changing soon, considering that it currently revolves around Harvard Manage Mentor.
This guys goes on and on about his accomplishments and skills and such. Really boring and a completely common sense class that is unnecessary. Test were easy and mainly common sense. DO NOT GET HARVARD MM, YOU DO NOT NEED IT all the articles are free online for the lecture quizzes to begin with. Save your money and take your family to dinner.
If you take him for cornerstone, do not bother showing up to the lectures and just buy studycube and study off of that to earn an easy B. There are five exams and the lowerst one ends up being dropped. Attendance in this class is not needed to be successful in this class, just use studycube.
As an involved student, I feel like this course's information is pointless. For example, it is one thing to talk about networking, another to attend networking events. Ford is clearly more interested in entrepreneurship. Homework not hard. HMM more expensive than necessary. WATCH VIDEO CLIPS. Study cube was helpful. Overall okay class but not great
I get how some may find Cornerstone boring. It's pretty much a common sense class. However, I honestly think Dr. Ford is one of the best professors I've ever had. He's clearly so passionate about what he does. Easy A and you get to hear his funny stories that make the concepts practical. I wish he taught more than just Cornerstone!
One of the worst classes I have ever taken. Only took it because it is required. He is a nice professor but he is very unclear of what is going to be on the exams. Buy the online book and actually read it!!! He does NOT mention that most of his exams are based from the readings. Do not take unless required!
Yet again, another waste of time. This course is for students who lack common sense. Did not learn anything new in this class except that you have to memorize.. which is not learning. Supposed to prepare you for the real world but in all reality, the material is corny, the professor doesnt go over what will be included in exams. I could keep going!
Good Instructor overall. Material is not complicated, but you still need to study and understand it to do well on tests with application questions. Drops the lowest of 5 tests if you make at least a 75 on test 5. In addition, tests are not cumulative.
Pretty clear cut HW and tests. Definitely recommend! Never used book. pretty straightforward class.
Since they change the teaching method this semester, so it is acceptable for slightly unorganized, however, this class was a disaster, i don't think the professor was prepared before he started this class, the in class activities were jokes, did not help us to learn at all. They way he teach was different from how he tested us... Bad!
Avoid if possible!!! The new class format is awful! Very harsh grading and sooo many assignments. Way too many for an elective. Class meetings are redundant/pointless. You will learn nothing and hate every minute of this terrible class!
new system was confusing. lectures online and met in class for 5x a semester. took selfie as attendance. testing center for exams. There are ec opportunity. we had a online competition. in class activity for feedback hw assignment. module hw online can be time consuming.
Dr. Ford is one of the best professors I've ever had. He truly cares about his students and their success. Since this was the first semester of the new class format there were small issues, but overall it's a great class. Do all the homeworks, use the slides to study for exams (understand conceptually), and have fun with it!
Dr. Ford genuinely cares about making this class as useful as he can. There were some kinks to work out but he did his best to accommodate and make everything fair. He's a great professor and you do have to do goofy activities in class, but so does everyone else, so get over it.
This class was chaos. They made it overly-complicated and confusing for no good reason. No one had a clue what was going on or what was expected. There are a ton of assignments and they're all pretty much pointless busy work. Next time UCF redesigns a course, make sure it actually works so students don't waste their money on this joke.
Easiest A of your life. Class is boring, did not enjoy.
Pretty easy class just show up 5 times to the mandatory class and do the light work he assigns. After reading the reviews I realize that maybe after teaching this class a couple times, its smoothened out and not as disorganized as others described.
Cool dude and easy class. Do the work and you will pass easily.
The course work was very misleading, the class is basically a gigantic abstract thought that overemphasizes on much smaller and less important aspects of trying to start your own company. we covered very little in regards to what it actually takes to be a successful entrepreneur, purely psychological components. avoid this class if you can.
If you want to be mansplained to for the entire lecture period about the most simple possible topics, take this class. Hell drag things out for so long that youre held past the end of the class period, and then he will whine that everyone is packing up early. Easy A but you have to be comfortable with other students reading your assignments
If you want to be mansplained to for the entire lecture, take this class. He drags out the MOST simple concepts for so long that he keeps everyone after the lecture time, then whines that people are packing up early. Easy A if you try but you have to be comfortable letting other students read your assignments
Very boring class. Not useful for students who don't plan on creating their own company. Worst business class because it's a waste of time.
Overall very tedious work, did not like the class format. Class had 600 students so you are just a number.
This class was one of the worse classes I have taken at UCF. It wasnt super hard just very tedious and unorganized. He kept us after lecture time and got upset if anyone left before he was done. Exams are easy since they are straight from the modules. I didnt open the book at all and got a B+ only because I missed a class. He also gives no make up
Just do the work and you'll get an A. You do not have to implement your idea out of this class but if you just come up with something reasonable and show up to class, you'll be fine. Don't waste money on the books, all the exams are straight from the module questions.
This course is really chill. Attend the meetings and do the work assigned and you will get an A. The work is easy, but can be a little time consuming. Class meetings go by fast because you work with your table mates on problems. If you need a class to balance a hard schedule, take this!
Very straightforward class and professor. It is a little tedious at times and can feel like busywork, but overrall I enjoyed it. Professor seemed nice although I didnt really get to see him much. Make sure you do well on all the modules because a 93 is whats an A in this class. Would definitely take it again, helped make my semester more chill!
Awesome professor and lots of office hours open even with COVID. Doesn't grade hard because it's mostly your own opinions and what inspires you. Just don't over think the assignments, it's very simple stuff and you'll do great. Also don't wait last minute to do the modules. The module and quiz questions are repetitive and easy to remember.
This is a pretty easy class. Do the work and you'll get an A. You get out of this class what you put into it. Rush through the assignments and dont pay attention in the lectures and you wont learn much. Actually take the time to listen and learn and think and its a great class i highly recommend that inteoduces you to an entrepreneurial mindset.
A bit tedious, but easy to pass if you do the work. You watch the professor's video lectures within the modules, take the short quizzes at the end of each vid, then take a longer quiz to wrap up the module. After that you apply that knowledge to the assignments that build up to your final "big idea" presentation. Not too bad overall.
He treats this entry-level, second-thought class like a master's program. Too many assignments. Too much out-of-class obligation. And so much time wasted. All for a 3 credit hour class that no one takes seriously. He needs to scale it down significantly and realize that an elective should not take precedent over major-specific courses.
Loads of easy, TEDIOUS assignments; 3 assignments due each week. Usually, a lecture module followed by a quiz and writing assignment. Lectures were interesting; lessons from this class can be applied to different fields. There are a lot of Youtube videos and TED talks included as teaching tools---up to you if you think that's worth your tuition.
I could tell Dr. Ford really wanted his students to be successful. Class wasn't super easy, and there were weekly creative projects. If you struggle to learn from recorded videos this class isn't for you, as that is what the weekly modules are. Overall wasn't a bad upper level business elective, but was more work than expected.
This class is weirdly set up but honestly everything is graded based on your participation, you get out what you put in. Overall pretty chill class, Lectures are pretty fun
Easy A for an elective. As long as you follow guidelines for hw and bs it you can get near a 100 in the class. Quizzes are mostly on quizlet. Show up to class and participate and you are good.
Prof. Ford has interesting lectures that won't bore you to sleep along with a consistent schedule that allows you to stay on track with classwork. Would take this class again!
It was a fun class to go to may seem like a waste of time but I enjoyed it personally, met a lot of cool people, and just show up for when class is scheduled it is not every week, and do the homework playpoist has quizlets.
This professor definitely likes his name, since he has said it about a couple hundred times this semester.
I could write an essay on how much I did not like this professor and class. All I am going to say is that it is a ton of busy work, he likes to listen to himself speak and has the TAs grade subjectively on all assignments. Thank god I only had to take this as an elective. So sorry for those who are required to take it.
I know it's tempting, because this class is very easy to pass, but unless you truly are interested in entrepreneurship - don't enroll in this. I dreaded watching the learning playlists every week and the open-ended assignments felt time-consuming, repetitive, and draining. Dr. Ford himself is OK, but the subject matter isn't for everyone.
Do not procrastinate. No cutting corners, you MUST go through entire lectures to receive credit. You can't speed the video either. If it's difficult for you to focus, good luck. Only one attempt on lecture questions so answer carefully. He replied about 3-4 business days after I sent an email, so don't expect fast communication. Easy class though.
The class itself was good, and I enjoyed it as I was interested in the material. Feedback was almost non-existent, though, after asking both the Prof and TAs. My style of homework was consistent, but grades were all over, and numerous attempts to ask how to improve went nowhere. Don't recommend if you need to ensure high grades. Otherwise good.
Very easy get to get an A just lots of homework but still easy no exams just hw and attenednece and final project
He's a good person, but the class feels boring since the video lectures are posted on a site where questions show every few mins and u get graded off that. Assignments build off one another so make sure u come up w/ a good idea early on. Not an "easy A", just put in a little effort bc u get graded off ur ideas, not concepts, also no exams
Great guy and great class. Classes were once every 2 weeks and I honestly enjoyed them and got to meet people. Work was relatively easy as long as you were ahead. Highly recommend especially since it can be an easy and fun class.
Professor Ford was great. He was very understanding and he cared about his students. He gave students opportunities to present their startup ideas at competitions and workshops. Participation is mandatory but we only met every other week.
He's a really nice professor and is easy to approach. I will say there is a lot of work that's due every week and quizzes, NO FINAL EXAM. There is a final project due at the end as well He doesn't round up in grades. I was left at an 89%. Some assignments aren't that clear so make sure to ask ahead
The class material itself was fine and easy to understand. There aren't really any concepts that you need to learn however, the assignments aren't graded well. They do not hand out 100% on any assignment even if you try really hard. The professor also doesn't give any feedback so you have no clue what you're doing wrong.
Class itself was easy just a lot of busy work for no reason. I never received a 100% on assignments, I imagine they did not want people to get easy grades. No exams and one final project that was actually fun. Take it for an easy class, just expect busy work and really boring videos that count as grades.
There are 185509509 mandatory videos that you have to watch every single week. You can't skip them as there are quizzes based on them. This class sucks, and he doesn't help to make it better. A good point is that there are no exams.
Would definitely take this class again. Most of the grade is 1-2 hour long digital videos with questions in between. They're very specific questions and even if you're paying attention they're hard and random. In class activities were fun and group-based and it was required attendance but only like 5 times. No final exam
The class itself was easy just a lot of homework which was busy work. You will never receive a 100% on assignments, even if you try very hard. No exams and one final project that was actually great. Take it for an easy class, just expect busy work and really boring videos that count as grades.
Very dismissive and hard to work with on matters.
Easy class just do your homework and put effort into your final project. The professors a nice guy he just tends to ramble a bit.
Arrogant and self-obsessed professor. This class is easy and gives you an ok understanding of entrepreneurship, but the amount of busy work makes it not worth it. Don't take it unless it's required for your major.
This class was not hard but just very annoying. The assignments are very time consuming and the required videos are VERY long and BORING. Some of the questions you need to answer would not make sense either and sometimes vague. You only get one chance to answer each question. I'm just happy this class was only an elective.
The work is very easy. However, the workload is a bit time-consuming and tedious. The assignments you are given include watching videos of him talking and answer the questions. There is no way to skip the videos either. There are also projects that you have to work on and some you present in front of your group. TAs are of no help.
Professor Ford's class meets 6 times per semester and you are seated with a group of people who all will stick with you for the semester. Basically, the entire semester leads up to you making a new idea or business that you present for your final. Professor Ford talks a lot, but he is very passionate about what he does. I appreciated this class!
Professor Ford is a very respectable man in his field. His class teaches you a lot and the best thing is that THERE ARE NO TESTS. You just have to watch his videos and answer the questions and the final project.
Ford's class is very easy, but it is one of the most annoying classes I have taken at UCF. The problem might have been exclusive to my semester (fall 2023), because he was redoing the course structure. Ford was very unorganized, claimed assignments would be posted, but were posted days later. Assignments assigned Friday, and due Tuesday every week.
Very easy class to get an A in, but beware, the modules you need to work through are kind of tricky. You must watch the full video, no skipping, then answer the questions in-between for credit. The real upside is that there's no exams to worry about, so just do your homework and you're fine. Also you get to be entered into a startup competition.
Not a terrible professor by any means but I think lacks self awareness in the amount that he asks of his students. The class isn't too hard but he assigns weekly multiple hour long modules that don't allow you to try multiple times and every assignment is a huge project that he grades too tough. Class activities are annoying and stressful as well.
I have mixed feelings about this professor. He was a very nice guy and its very easy to get an A in this class but the assignments are very long and tedious. I ended up spending more time on this class a lot of weeks than my main classes. Easy A but be prepared to spend a lot of time on this class.
If you're a business major and like creative thinking, this class is an easy A. No tests at all and in person labs are enjoyable. I learned a lot from this course. He's a cool professor. His module lectures can be long (due every tuesday). Try to AVOID turning in anything in class, it will be awhile before it gets graded.
This is a really easy A class and he is incredibly engaging. I do not like how he posts the homework on the weekend to be due on a Tuesday night. The homework does required effort to produce high quality. TA's are a little selective to who they give out perfect scores to. If you need an elective I would take this one
If you are not planning on being an entrepreneur, don't waste your time in this class. The assignments are long, tedious, and difficult to understand (and posted on Friday while being due Tuesday). TA's aren't helpful, and you likely aren't getting a 100 on any assignment either.
6 Startup assignments (1+ hrs minimum to complete), 11 learning modules (videos that take 1-2 hrs to complete). Talks a lot during lectures, maybe a bit too much when instructions are straightforward. Class is easy, but you do have to do the assignments well as they all build off of each other.
Class is every 2wks and enjoyable, nothing difficult. Lots of socializing for assignments. There's lots of easy online assignments, but it is a lot and time consuming. About 2hrs every 2wks worth of homework. The professor is super nice, enthusiastic, and very understanding, though! Attendance is counted for the grade, also.
This class could be somewhat monotonous, and I likely would not take it again, but this is not really Dr. Ford's fault. He was good and made the videos entertaining enough. Very communicative outside of class if you have issues.
There is one project that is separated into 6 parts for the year. The homework take about 2 hours to complete a week. He is a nice guy, but I honestly feel like her would do better teaching high school from his lectures.
This is the most obnoxious and self-obsessed professor I have ever had. He is slow to release course material, and you have to spend HOURS completing these assignments that will NOT help you in your professional career. He's arrogant, and you are given 1 attempt to complete each question in his long drawn-out videos. DO NOT take this class.
Very doable A but I did not anticipate all the homework. Took hours to complete each week. My recommendation is to get ahead of it because it gets old very fast which could make you lazy and not get the easy A that is possible out of boredom.
The class is engaging, but the assignments can be tedious. Use unstuckstudy AI, ChatGPT, and the free textbook to make the most of it. The professor is understanding, though attendance is mandatory.
Class is hours of work each week for no real reason. The professor is nice but seems a bit full of himself. I think if you want to be an entrepreneur, this class may be slightly useful. Experience is key, not hours of mundane videos.
This class was not difficult; the assignments and videos were tedious. He speaks too quietly and is not engaging. You create PowerPoints throughout the semester and I kept getting points off for the littlest things. I wish he would put more examples because the example slides were not helpful. Do not take it if you don't have to.
ENT team was super picky abt grades & you constantly had to refer to past assignments for grading criteria, but he would never update the rubric to reflect what he wanted. Made it super confusing about what exactly you needed to submit. Dr. Ford and his team are willing to help and are nice, but they cannot communicate with one another.
Very unorganized class!
The class isnt the hardest but because he was so behind on grades it made it so hard to fix the issues because almost all of the homework is cumulative. We would have to turn in an assignment before the last one was graded and continuously get the same things wrong. Also the feedback was so broad it made it hard to figure out what you did wrong.
I did not care for this class or professor at all. The only thing I liked was that there were no exams. The class is just one big project you work on weekly with required lecture videos that contain quizzes. They take forever to watch and get through. He often had an attitude in class and TAs are picky graders.
The professor and TAs are very specific when grading while taking weeks to grade you. The class is an easy B, but a hard A unless you are artistic and creative. The videos are long while being a good chunk of your grade and the class mostly revolves around your project idea. Make sure you plan out your "startup" and properly define it for an A.
The class is not hard. However, it was frustrating because the homework was so time consuming and the Teacher Assistants are way too strict with the grading. I would not take this again.
Typical REAL issues with GTAs handling grading and little engagement. Easy class for business elective credit though. Dr. Ford is as knowledgeable as anyone about entrepreneurship and provides many resources for interested students. 94% req. for "A", but very simple material (~2-3 hours work/week tops). No exams or textbook, and just 5 ALL sessions
Love this course & professor. The info in the videos are actually fantastic. Unfortunate that this is an elective, not everybody will take it seriously, but I encourage you to actually pay attention in the learning modules to gain valuable information. No tests. All hands on activity learning. Time consuming but easy and simple.
Take for an Easy A. Classes are mandatory and there are only about 5-6 total. Read the instructions and submit every assignment and you should have an easy A for your GPA. Professor Ford's pretty cool
Prepare to be annoyed. The class is not hard, but the projects are time consuming and the TA's are too picky with grading, sometimes they don't go into detail when they leave a comment and take points off. Almost seems like the professor runs out of real-life material to teach so he makes stuff up, I would not say this class helped me personally.
Class is so boring! Literally a waste of time. However, very easy A, just be ready to spend some good time on his assignments every week. You can work ahead and be done sooner. Follow his instructions by the book, they take off points for the smallest things.
Not a hard class, the only annoying thing is the Tuesday night due dates and the long learning modules. There were no exams, just the 6 ALL's, easy A. TA's grade tough sometimes, and barely gave me useful feedback. They finally graded previous assignments and gave decent feedback AFTER I completed the class.
No exams, easy work load. There's a project you work on throughout the semester, but it's really not hard. It can be graded a little tough, but still a very passable class. Professor is very understanding and passionate about the class, but it can be boring. There are several extra credit opportunities
The learning modules were terrible, the professor is not clear with what he is saying. Oh, and you only had one chance to get the question right.. Besides that, the professor would talk about himself a lot whenever he had the chance and the TA's are slow at grading. You'd get feedback the night your next assignment is due. Save yourself.
Is this an easy A elective? Yes. But it is straight busy work. The assignments due every tuesday would take me hours to do which was very annoying. But there is no exams which is nice. Just like the other reviews say, the TA feedback sucks and they take forever to grade.
Easy A. Class is not hard, but full of busy work. Dr. Ford, however, grinds my gears. I have never felt more in a middle school environment than I do in that class. I have never heard such an emphasis on complete silence in UNIVERSITY! He won't advance the class until there isn't a peep, he also says really weird and almost uncomfortable things...
This class is annoying. The modules can take forever and they are required. Also the professor is always talking and treating his students like children. He also says weird things in class. The large assignments are confusing because he asks for so much and has a lot of links, and they take forever to grade. I would not recommend taking this course
The class isn't that hard; they just tend to grade a bit hard. During lectures, he will have you turn and work with your table, then immediately start talking over your group and ask the table to quiet down. Just goofy, but not too hard of an elective. Just annoying.
I loved this class's approach to AI integration. There was a very large section on prompt engineering with LLMs which is one of the few things that will be applicable in the future. It also helps influence your mindset for getting work done. Just do the work, follow directions, and you'll get the A.
This professor's lectures were extremely boring, and his assignment instructions were confusing and unnecessarily complicated. His teaching style made the course much harder than it needed to be, and he does not effectively help students learn.
The professor brags about himself often during in-person lectures and learning modules. Assignment instructions are over-complicated, and he can be very picky. He is not respectful towards his students, and he and his TAs always give rude feedback. Usually, professors also comment on what you did well too, but they only point out the bad.
He clearly wants his students to succeed, ENT just isn't for me lol but lectures are like twice a month, the TAs tend to be nitpicky when it comes to grading, not a difficult class just kind of annoying to do (time consuming) he makes jokes and his lectures are light-hearted but long, if ur into ENT/business I would recommend it as an easy elective
Entrepreneurship was not bad at all. Weekly required lectures to watch but that's it for lecture material. Weekly PowerPoint assignment. Assignment descriptions are very long but they are legit just simple steps. Dr. Ford is super nice and cares so much about his students. Only reason I got a B was bc I missed 2 classes for unexpected reasons.
The class is easy but complicated for no reason. He brags about not having a final exam, only to post one 2 days before Thanksgiving. And the TAs' grades are very nitpicky. The professor seems to care a lot, but this class is clearly for those who already have a product in development. Stop advertising this as a "testing the waters" class!!!
Only put tough grader cuz the TA's expect you to have 30 years of corporate experience in ppt & will take off pts for fun. like 6-10pts for text too small when its 12p? The professor is actually great and gives you everything u need to get a good grade. The stuff is just busy work and time consuming but not hard at all. GPA booster in my opinion.
Professor Ford is actually such a kindhearted person. He loves to watch his students succeed and gives out so many opportunities. Now the actual class I found to be extremely obnoxious and a little time consuming. Extremely easy A but avoid this class unless you love making PowerPoints and forcefully watching videos. Loved Dr. Ford, not the class.
This is the easiest business elective that you could take! No tests just a bunch of power points. TAs grade very tough so follow the very detailed instructions closely. Class is EXTREMELY hard to sit through for that long but it's a REAL class. He drags it out. Absolute recommend his class to fill your elective spot.
The class was alright. Pretty easy for an elective. Some of the assignments were lengthy. Overall an easy A but a lot of busy work.
If you are into entrepreneurship or want to pursue the startup route in this course, absolutely take this. I am a CS major who was interested in the ENT minor, but dropped it after this class. There is a ton of busy work in this course. TAs handle all of the grading and they are extremely nitpicky; this probably cost me my A in the course.
