This teacher stinks! He mostly just lectures, makes weird pictures on the board, doesn't write down all the important stuff on the board, and will talk for the whole class period about one topic and that won't even be on the test! EVERYONE get failing grades on his tests. avoid this class at all costs!

Dr McCormick is an average, undisciplined and disorganized instructor. I did well in his class in spite of how poorly he conveyed material. Late on posting lectures, homework that was too esoteric for the subject. I don't like it when teachers attempt to shape students opinions on complex matters - he tries and is wrong to do so. Do you like doing 4-6 assignments on Sundays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays with each about an hour in length? Are you an expert at making spreadsheets? Do you like having to open a dozen tabs at time? Then this is the class for you. Dr. Mac seems very nice and may be great in person, but this class is a literally nightmare online.

Way too much work with very little instruction. Get ready to spend quite a bit of time every other night working on poorly constructed assignments.

Too much homework with little instruction or lectures. Some homework assignments were complex math with little to no guidance. I had to research a lot on my own just to get the homework finished. 4-5 assignments due on Sunday night along with many throughout the week. Do not recommend!!

I learned so much I didn't know that I didn't know. He made geography interesting, and I learned that it's so much more than names of places on a map! I wish I had room in my schedule to take more classes from him!

Awful class. I'm only 3 weeks in and if I had the option I would drop this class. This professor only gives us two days to complete five assignments that take between 1-2 hours to complete and the resources provided have nothing to do with the homework. Do not take this class if you can't sacrifice all of your down time.

Only 3 weeks in, but the workload is equivalent to a 300 level class. Shouldn't be like that in a 101 class. Every assignment takes a minimum of 1 hour to do, and there's usually 6 assigned every two days. I don't think I've ever been as burnt out in a class as I've been here. Don't recommend as an introductory course if you want any free time.

He's great! He works hard to make the class interesting and relevant. It's a hard class, so I think that's why some students give him bad ratings. He is really knowledgeable and connects geography to more than just information about names of places and locations!

I loved the instructor! He knows his stuff and is really enthusiastic about what he teaches. Geography is much more than just names of countries and places on a map, and that really comes through in the class! The content was interesting, but it's a hard class, so be prepared to put in the effort if you want a good grade.

he didn't provide me good instructions for each assignment. I emailed a gourd of classmates so we can help each other. most of my homework were 2/3 because I missed stuff. The final is nothing like we learned in class, some but not all. I ft a friend for the test and got a 71/92. There is also a project included with final worth 113 pts. hard class

If I had any idea of the coursework I would have never enrolled in this class. He's cool, definitely wants to help you, and is very easy to get ahold of. But every other day there is 5-7 things due. At least 15 things weekly. If you have a life outside of school, maybe reconsider this class? I am behind on everything else, including other classes.

I know this is a required class for many, but please, PLEASE beware of this course. Like others have said there was an insane amount of work per week, and I consider myself a hardworking student but this class alone caused several breakdowns. He seems like a good guy, but the workload and difficulty are absolutely mind-boggling for an intro class.

Great class and professor! Do the assignments, take notes on the lectures (very important!!!), and you'll be fine. Tiny exams and usually 5 assignments per week. Textbook is free but rarely used. There were times when the homework was confusing, but he was easy to get ahold of by email. Great class for understanding the modern world!

He leaves out a lot of information from his videos or his slideshows, or he doesn't explain them well. He provides a LOT of homework for a 101 class. Expect maybe about 10-12 assignments a week, some take an hour long. He is fairly accessible through zoom if you need him though. Don't take unless you're ready for 20 hours a week on one class.

Im surprised seeing Prof. McCormick being 3/5 because I have really liked his class. The discussions are very interesting and homework isn't insane. He's generous with giving time and not removing points for late submissions, he's there to help with any questions you have. If I have the chance I would take a class from him again. Highly recommended

Dr. Mac is one of the more impressive professors I have had to pleasure to learn from. The amount of passion he puts into his syllabus is above and beyond what I have experienced with other professors thus far. This is a class you will appreciate for more than the credits and I highly recommend taking this course. Thanks Dr. Mac!

I had a wonderful time in Cameron's class. His tests particularly the final exam is tough if you don't know geography. Great teacher! If you use his office hours that can help you a lot. Work with him that's what I recommend.

Dr. Mac is very understanding, funny, and easy to reach via email. I loved the content of his class, but just soooo much homework, Easily 7 things a week, with optional 40-60 min zoom lectures mon-thurs Doing live helped me learn more than a recording, and he's really passionate about what he teaches. Would give a lower difficulty if less homework

Prof. McCormick knows his material inside and out, making comprehension of the subject material a very streamlined process. He is fair in grading and gives feedback not just for correction but to adjust or expand your knowledge. The homework/project formats are engaging and interactive, as well as allowing for creative and intellectual tangents.

Nice guy and good professor. Issue is it is just A LOT of work for an elective class. Felt like we did 20 homework assignments a week. It isn't necessarily "hard" I just felt like a lot of the work was just busy work. Taking hours to finish it all. If you're doing a hard major. Probably best to avoid..
