An exceptional teacher. You will need to work for your grade, but he is open to any questions or comments you have. Reading is necessary, as the pop-quizzes are only deployed when he feels the majority did not read. He is incredibly entertaining and engaging during lecture, and quite personable. I would love to take his class again.

By far the most entertaining and engaging class i have ever taken. If you are not scared to express yourself or get involved in class then you will have a blast. He grades kind of hard on papers but if you apply what you learn in class into the paper you will do well. Also you have to read or he will assign pop quizzes. Best English teacher.

His lectures were very interesting and entertaining, we got to have group discussions in the class about the readings. The more you participate, the better! (Plus, other students' ideas may give you new perspectives on the readings) He tends to have random pop quizzes, which aren't hard. He's super funny and super nice, loves star wars! :)

I am in his English class this semester and he is awesome. I Highly recommend him. Make sure to read your assigned chapters before coming to class and be prepared for a pop quiz. He expects his students to speak in class about the subject matter. I am always too shy to speak in class for many reasons and one reason is that he makes me nervous ;)

Professor Yummy may not be the easiest professor but he is definitely easy on the eyes. Hottest Star Wars nerd I've ever seen! But seriously though be ready for pop quizzes.

Professor Yummy is right but don't let those big blue eyes and engaging smile fool you! He is one tough grader but he is one of the few professsors that I have encountered that genuinley cares about his students and wants them to learn. He is the professor you keep in touch with and ask for college recommendations when you're ready to transfer :)

I really don't agree with the prior critics. Instructor Young is difficult in grading because he holds us accountable and if you are doing what you are supposed to do you'll be fine. Just read, be prepared, and you'll be fine. Took an LGBT focus class, people complaining and its like you signed up for this, stupid! Love the discussions

Cameron is a pretty laid back teacher but he is also there for you to get things done. There is quite a few essays and sometimes he can be a harsh grader, but he wont leave you unprepared for an essay and will help you prepare and outline the essay. Also, he's the biggest Star Wars nerd I've ever met

The professor is very laid back and hilarious. He is insightful on many issues and very open-minded. There is a lot of note taking on some weeks so prepare for that. There is also a lot of articles to read and pop quizzes for it so beware.

Professor Young is one of my favorite professors I've ever taken at Norco. He genuinely cares about his students and makes plenty of time outside of class for you to get help with the work. Lots of reading and plenty of homework but the powerpoints are posted online. You definitely get the grade you earn in this class.

I took eng-1b with him and it only made sense for his work to be focused on controversial topics related to society, ethics, and the self because students should be encouraged to think more objectively than biasedly. I truly think some of my peers had difficulty with reflecting and that may be why they disliked the course. Anyway, great class!

Professor Young's lectures are super fun and engaging! However, please be aware that this class is very difficult. Take advantage of tutoring sessions and talking about the classwork with your peers. Don't think you can get by with spark notes and last minute essays! Well, you can but you're going to struggle... a LOT.

Overall , his lectures were insightful and interesting though be prepared to set a lot of time to study and read. Majority of it is focused on learning things in depth and applying your own perspectives on what youre learning. I highly recommend to ask questions bc thats what I felt made / break my grade !

I've taken this Professor on three separate occasions for ENG 1A, 1B and Creative Writing. I think all three classes provided great insight that has helped me improve as a writer and critical thinker. His lectures, power points and group participation are NEEDED to pass any of his courses. Don't think you can get away with spark notes/skim reading!

I personally hate online classes, but professor Young made it extremely easy to understand the subject as he offered in-person time to help tutor. Overall, he was a great professor and he made I loved the material as he made us question and critically think. I only wish I had him for Eng-1A as well.

At times, the course proved to be somewhat overwhelming as it was only 8 weeks long, but I overall found Professor Young to be very helpful. He even had an open-door office hour policy dedicated to helping out students.

Difficult class with lots of reading, participating in discussions, and writing essays. The work was a lot but I learned just as much. He encourages you to contact him for any struggles you encounter, although I never did. I am not sure how difficult the other professors of ENG-1B are, but I am glad I took this one. the class itself was a fun environment! mr. young's a cool guy, a bit sarcastic and blunt, but he means well. his class is centered around the lgbtq+ community, if you don't support it, i don't recommend taking the course. (he's a very big supporter). this class is essay heavy!! you just gotta find your vibe with him.

Professor Young is a great professor! His teachings are thorough and ensure everyone is heard to get you thinking about the topic. He is sarcastic, blunt, and very straightforward, so don't take his course if you don't like that. He is straightforward if you participate and do the work. Professor Young's support was valuable during my semester. Despite initial struggles with online tools and a Turnitin mishap, his compassion and second chance offer showed dedication to student success. Additional lecture videos could enhance learning, but his guidance made navigation manageable. His empathy speaks volumes about his dedication.

I haven't had a teacher who has been this understanding, kind, and patient in awhile. I don't speak for other students but I personally had an amazing time in his class. There was literally only 3 essays but they were kinda hard, mainly because it really made you think. There wasn't a lot of assignments mainly because of how difficult they were.

This class has a lot of reading and critical thinking but if you commit you will end up enjoying this class. His topics are very thought provoking and I learned a lot. Even though I had some setbacks, he was very accommodating and helpful. There is a lot of reading but overall his class is very easy going if you stay on top of it! I recommend him.

When I first took this course, I was concerned by the ratings I read, but when I actually took the class I found that he really has a passion for literature and wanting to help us understand. Participation really matters for this instructor, but our class didn't really have a lot of that. I was too shy and not many people shared.

He's a tough grader for sure, and while he does provide feedback, it is much better to talk to him in person because things just click so much easier then. Maybe this is because the course was online, but once we started meeting regular the lectures and the prompts made so much more sense. He's always available for Zoom too.

Professor Young is just a teacher who is easy to get along with. This class was fun because not only did we get to share our own works, but Professor Young showed us some of his creative writing too. He's a nice professor, but doesn't offer late work easily.

The comments about tough grading is correct, but he offers a lot of opportunities for extra credit that I never felt I could not recover. Just do the work, simple as that. Follow instructions and if you have questions go see him or email him because he always gave me tons of great feedback I did not even know about until I did. Also, got a chance to relate in some of my other classes because the theories he brings in are similar to other classes. All around, great professor

If Hybrid class I recommend participating in class to learn new ideas.Was fearful about Eng 1B but attending tutoring if needed, asking question, with in class with open minded will HELP. Be aware in English 1 B you are required to read lots of short stories, power points etc. Professor. Young is very approachable and supportive during office hours, offering valuable feedback on how to improve my work. He is also very understanding on people's concerns, always willing to help his students in address challenges in a constructive way.

An excellent english teacher, very thorough when it comes to discussing and dissecting your creative writing that you submit for assignments. A lot can be learned about creative writing and poetry if you take his class. However, it may feel like you have to cram some assignments due to the short period of time you are given to complete them.

Take the class it will be worth it! He graded assignments fairly and prepared us really well through lecture and class participation. He worked with me and I was able to catch up after a difficult time I was going through. I am grateful for professors that are understanding and willing to work with you as you need it.

If you are not willing to read or talk in class, please do everyone a favor and do not take this class in person. Professor Young focuses class time to discuss reading, which is difficult if 3/4 of the class just sits and and stares. The assignments are dense at times, but if you ask questions the professor is happy to help. Warning: Hamlet essay!

this professor was great. will not sugar coat anything and will be very straightforward with the things we can work on. however he is a tough grader therefore I recommend really putting effort into the essays and not procrastinating! there's a lot of reading involved in this class

I loved taking Professor Young's class. He was an amazing person to chat with, he's very funny, and his assignments were super fun + interesting. If you're passionate about creative writing and love it, this class will not be a problem for you. It will, actually, be very fun, enlightening and exciting!

Fun class that's dependent on student engagement and how much you're willing to devote to your work as a writer. Professor Young gives good feedback. Outside of class, it was a difficult semester for a number of students, and he is willing to make accommodations if you communicate with him. Very understanding.

Probably the easiest English class I've taken yet. After taking this course I feel much more confident in writing essays now because of how the course is structured. Each day is a class discussion where you get to hear other classmates opinions and thoughts that can help to write your essays. Plus, the readings aren't boring.

His work can be difficult if you are a procrastinator like me, haha, anyway, just stay on task. He lets you write what you want to research for each writing, which makes the work a bit lighter. If you are looking to learn, I highly recommend him.

There is a lot of reading in this course. The professor makes sure to give you all the information beforehand and gives us the essay prompts. Overall easy class to take, just very time consuming. I would take this professor again.

The professor's professional abilities were up to scale. He provided detailed information on regulations and criteria for assignments, which was lifesaving. Each material discussed aligned with future projects. The labs were not hard unless you had to go to an in-person training, but other than that, it was a nice course.

Overall he's a great Professor, but be aware that this class is very hard to keep up with in the online format. If I had the chance to take it again, I would look for an in-person version of the class. There's a lot of reading materials, a lot of material to go over, and a LOT of writing. You will be expected to know how to write an MLA essay.

As someone who doesn't like reading much, the reading material was a lot but that's expected from a English class. If you procrastinate the work will keep you behind! I personally thought the class wasn't too hard nor too easy, but that's always subjective. Also don't be afraid to ask questions he's able to help and responses in a timely manner.

For the online course of ENG1B, professor Young was very accommodating and let students turn in essays up to five days late without penalty points excluding the final essay- I found this to be very helpful to create a balance with other classes. There is quite a bit weekly readings but each topic was very interesting!

The course is not particularly difficult, but with a full schedule, the 8-week course is a heavy burden, with the labs that are due at the end of each week and 3 essays can be time consuming. However, going to office hours he will take the time to further explain his expectations for the assignments and going to the writing center helped.

I honestly enjoyed taking this course, it was definitely tough and did require you to read and write a lot, but you could tell he is committed to helping you succeed in his course. I took the course online and anytime I had questions or wanted feedback on something he was very quick to respond to emails. Make sure you do all the readings for sure.

I took an 8-week course with this professor and I work full time. I did not know what I was getting myself into and although I struggled to keep up, Professor Young is a great teacher, and I would for sure take the class again.

He is a bit of a hard grader compared to other English classes, but he does give you a chance to fix your essay if you receive less than 75%. He also has very available office hours, and gives great feedback if you do take advantage of his office hours. If you follow the prompts and follow MLA format you'll do great.

Professor Young is a great teacher for anyone taking an online English class. In the past, I struggled with learning in an online english class, but Professor Young made it easy to stay engaged and succeed. The course was well organized, and there is always clear instructions on how the course will progress.

This course was honestly not that bad, although there is a ton of reading(I love reading) if that's not your cup of tea then maybe not. I would say grading was intense but he is a good communicator on what went wrong and so forth.

Cameron has been a really great professor, especially for the pacing for a late start term. An English professor can really make or break a class, he made it. Lots of interesting/fulfilling readings, a lot of readings weekly, not going to succeed if you don't read/online slides, 3 papers all 4pgs+, choose your own prompts that he breaks down very well, enjoyed his energy every morning+very funny, many chances for EC, felt lab assignments were unnecessary/too much, he expects participation in class.

This professor gave so many chances of extra credit throughout the semester to help you boost up your grade.

The whole course design is great and profound. The projects always connect Literature , Philosophy and Religion together to inspire students do the critical thinking and reflection. Have a good tour to challenge your capacity and enjoy your studies .

I found this class extremely difficult; however, I do not believe it is because of the professor it is because it is English 1b. I feel Mr. Young did a great job with the online lectures he provided as well as the PowerPoint presentations. He always responded to emails and was available via office hours. I would take him again.

This class is fairly easy. There is a lot of reading but as long as you stay on top of it and make sure to take notes and focus on the powerpoints given. The class should be no problem. The professor is great and provides lots of clear instructions on what is expected and needed to pass.

While some of his lab assignments are somewhat tough, he does provide all the material needed to answer them. Just make sure you are on top of your assignments (he doesn't have many). Stay on top of the reading as well because he does notice if outside material is used. One thing I would complain about is the lack of feedback given on essays.

He is organized and clear. His Canvas course helps students stay on track. He gives strong feedback and responds well. Stay on top of readings and plan ahead. For improvement he could be clearer, sometimes expectations are split between the assignment description and the weekly evaluation, which can be confusing. Overall, a great professor.

The professor takes time and care to prepare the coursework and makes things easily accessible. Prepare to read a decent amount of text and an equally thought provoking prompt to write with based on that text. Overall a good professor and would recommend, especially in an online setting.

Overall, this professor was really on organized and on top of everything. He posted lots of announcements and always keep on top of everything. Theres a bit of reading but as long as you follow the week-by-week agendas you should be in the clear. Overall great professor would take again :)

Cameron's classes are not the easiest, but you do learn a lot in his classes. He is very communicative and is willing to work with students who are struggling, either inside the class or with life stuff. I would take another class taught by him.

Professor Young is very detailed in his feedback, which only allows you to be a better writer. The workload is enough to keep you busy, but not so much so that it takes up all of your time. He allows for extra credit opportunities, so take advantage of these! DO NOT procrastinate your assignments, try and get them complete! Overall amazing!

Very easy class once you want to actually participate and learn. Class material and lectures easy to obtain and provided them through a carefully thought out canvas. Teacher was easy to go up to with questions and reasonable when given proper timing. Easy going teacher and easy to reach through email.

Professor Young provides so much feedback and does so in a respectful, helpful manner. It can get a bit hectic since we have to have assignments printed every week, procrastinating is very easy for me so that was a bit of a challenge. I would suggest for him to fix some small errors on Canvas along with better communication. He offers extra credit!
