An exceptional teacher. You will need to work for your grade, but he is open to any questions or comments you have. Reading is necessary, as the pop-quizzes are only deployed when he feels the majority did not read. He is incredibly entertaining and engaging during lecture, and quite personable. I would love to take his class again.

By far the most entertaining and engaging class i have ever taken. If you are not scared to express yourself or get involved in class then you will have a blast. He grades kind of hard on papers but if you apply what you learn in class into the paper you will do well. Also you have to read or he will assign pop quizzes. Best English teacher.

If you can avoid taking him, don't take him! He's a new professor who hasn't quite understood how to teach his students. Assigns an unfair amount of work and then doesn't even show up. Cameron Young is not teaching English. Don't expect lessons on grammer or any writing of interest. He's an activist for LGBTQ. Which is fine as a life mission, but not for an English 1A class. The comments about tough grading is correct, but he offers a lot of opportunities for extra credit that I never felt I could not recover. He is challenging and many of my ideas don't always align, but that's what I am looking for in a good professor because I like the challenge. If you want to learn take Young

Cameron Young is a tough grader and assigns difficult assignment, besides the essays that he has you write on shakespeare's work, which thankfully were only around five pages. If you are taking his online class do not expect much from him besides old powerpoints that are not very helpful and usually are focused on his own opinions.
