I love Mrs. Manzueta! She's super cool and funny. You have to do a summary on each chapter but it's only one page double spaced and there's so much in each chapter to right about so it only takes about 15-20 mins. She's an awesome teacher and loves to help! Definately recommend her for speech class! I look forward to her class every day

She is very easy to get along with.The work is pretty much just chapter summaries (max one page double spaced) and 4 speeches which are always your choice of topic. It's an entertaining class.Dr. Manzueta is lenient with grading. Just do the work and and receive a good grade.

This class was amazing. Manzueta is so easy going and easy to talk to. She is clear with her arguments and makes the class very interesting. Overall the class is not hard, you need to put some effort, but easily you will get a good grade!!

Manzueta was an amazing professor! Class is easy, only negative comment is chapter summaries, so you do need a book. Speeches are on whatever you want to talk about, and really you do not have to put that much effort into it. Quizzes and tests she reviews exact questions from the class beforehand. I would recommend her if you want an easy class.

She's very into what she's talking about, so if you want to just take speech because you have to, i dont recommend this class. Yeah, she's nice and all but the work associated to get a good grade isn't worth it. There are other speech professors that require less.

A very respectful and a great pprofessor.

She is a very interesting professor who engages with her class. You will do at least one one page chapter summary each week (about twice we did three summaries in one week) and a chapter quiz each week. The speeches are not all that hard. She is helpful to students and she creates a good classroom environment.

Down to earth teacher, she will make you feel comfortable in the class.At first you might get the wrong impression of her , but naw she cool. Fair grade. 4 speeches. Overall good. Learn a lot . Good teacher. Helps a lot.

She was a very interesting teacher and always helped me when I needed it. She also liked to keep the class a bit interesting to make sure everyone was paying attention. Yes, the homework was a little much, but this is college. If you have a bit of speech anxiety (like I did) then you should take this class.

Overall easy class. Just a lot of work. Weekly quizzes/tests, forum posts and replies, chapter summaries, and the week of speeches - all of that plus your speech outline and video and script. It was a lot of work for such an easy class. I probably would have gotten an A had I put more effort in completing work. Professor however is really nice!

Very enjoyable classes, but a lot of busy work. Grades are given months late, or not at all, follow through on anything is very poor. She is going to make sure everyone who tries at all passes though.

A lot of assignments but she removes quite a few at the end to boost your grade and they are not hard if you read the chapters. Personable if you put in the effort and understanding of circumstances. Talks a lot about personal life and tends to get off topic but overall good teacher.

Very helpful and understanding if you are struggling. Give summaries and quizzes every week due online every Sunday. Not too much time given to be prepared for speeches. All in all, great professor but a lot of work.

This was a great class, Professor Manzueta is extremely professional and kind to her students. But, when it came to the grades she was extremely unreliable. If you don't worry about grades until the end, please take this class. Take this class anyway, she is a great teacher and a great orator.

She's a great teacher and she cares a lot about the students. Though she gives a lot of workload throughout the course. If you have an easy laidback schedule definitely take her. But if you have an arduous and hard schedule then the workload will be a problem. Overall she's a great teacher.

Dr. Manzueta is great!This was the only class I wasn't looking forward to and now I think it's great! She is kind and funny HOWEVER you must earn your grade. She gives you the grade you deserve so while being a nice professor don't assume that you can do the bare minimum because you will fail. She is very professional-give respect, get respected :)

Doctor Manzueta is a great speech professor, she really knows public speaking inside & out. I only recommend this course if you have a light course load. The work load is HEAVY. She's very understanding, she knows that life happens. Her lectures are clear & easy to understand if you pay attention. She will help you if you need it.

Dr. Manzueta was an excellent teacher! She is very funny, and gives great lectures. There's not much work involved besides preparing speeches and some book work. But classes were fun and I always looked forward to seeing her. She is firm but fair. Be aware that how you dress, posture and eye contact etc. are part of your grade for every speech.

She is such a great teacher! I was very shy in her class, and she helped to bring me out of my comfort zone :D Plus she cares about her students.

Dr. Manzueta knows public speaking inside and out. Definitely an amazing teacher, and I do reccomend her. However, the course work is a bit heavy, so I only suggest you take her if this is the only course you take, or your other classes are a bit light. She's helpful, her lectures are easy to understand and she's very professional.

Dr Manzueta is super into her job. Speech is her life! She's hilarious and she's there for her students if they need help. She drops low grades to ensure her student pass her class. The work load is heavy but if you don't procrastinate then you'll do fine.

Great Professor, everything she gives is pretty much graded. She's fair and clear to what's expected. She has a great personality and is honest.

Dr. Manzueta is clear when she is talking. She did tend to open quizzes late a lot. The "heavy workload" other students mentioned is mainly having to read the book chapters and write summaries on them. Sometimes she tends to tangent off for a few minutes about her young daughter or dog, and once talked for over 40 minutes on Ferguson.

Dr. Manzueta is very helpful. I was nervous to take the class because I'm not BIG with speaking in front of ppl. If you do the assignments, quizzes, AND COME TO CLASS, YOU WILL DO GREAT! She will help you will confidence with YOUR SPEECHES. She not only helps you wiTH the work in class but she talks about life achievements that you want to have!

I would take this class over again!!! There is a lot of work-be prepared. However if you do what she asks it does pay off! She is so much fun and is pretty crazy. I definitely did not expect to have a sort of "friend" for a professor :) She is there for every student and is so inspiring. Love you Manzueta!

She's hilarious, gives great lectures, and is quite helpful. She explains the chapter so well that you honestly don't even need to read the book. If you're not a good public speaker take it with her. She makes the classroom warm and inviting which takes off some of the edge of speaking in front of the class. Great teacher!

Shes really easy to get off topic, but shes funny.

She's sweet, funny, helpful, and passionate. She wants you to pass and is always there to help you improve your public speaking abilities as well as get over your nerves. Definitely would recommend taking her class especially if public speaking isn't your strong point.

This class was overall easy, she gives a quiz every week and a summary which isn't hard, but is time consuming since she wants it in APA format. My biggest issue with her was she never replies or grades in time. She asks for so much required info in a speech but doesn't like you running over your time limit. Very tough to satisfy her.

Dr. Manzueta is a firm no-nonsense woman & she's amazing! I'm a pretty shy person, so I was really nervous,but she made it (although still nerve-wrecking) manageable & I feel ready for public speaking in the future. Practice A LOT & be ready to participate! She wants to be proud of her scholars,but more-so, she wants YOU to be proud of what you do!

The class was easy. Took her online. I think she gave a lot of busy work though. A one page summary for all chapters in the book, quizzes on each, outlines for each speeches, total of 4 speeches throughout the semester. She took a while to grade. Outlines were graded within 24-72 hrs of completion though.

I took her online speech class and had the most mediocre online experience ever. Lots of (easy) busy work, and quizzes on every chapter in the book. It's easy to fall behind. Outlines were graded quickly, while chapter summaries took almost the whole semester for her to grade. Didn't always respond to emails. Incredibly average. Easy A.

Professor makes the lesson fun and is easy going. Even though participation doesn't seem mandatory, professor will call on you to answer simple questions.

Dr. Manzueta, if you have any concerns send her an email. Recordings of speeches are a must. Read chapters plan on writing summaries, quiz on every chapter. This course has taught me a lot about myself and public speaking. It is a good course to take. Plan on working hard each week to get assignments completed, but its worth the class! Good luck

First off, this professor assigns excessive amounts of work so if you have other classes, good luck. A lot of the work seemed like busy work to me. She also takes FOREVER to grade assignments. If you do all of the assigned work, you can receive a fairly easy A. The professor is definitely nice and knows her stuff, but I am glad this class is OVER

Camesha was a great professor this Summer. It's an online class so there is a lot of work you have to do which includes chapter summaries, discussions and quizzes. She provides you with rubrics and outlines for the speeches. She has clear intentions and cares about her students. Responds quickly to emails. Takes forever to grade stuff though!

Professor Manzueta is a very respected and focused teacher. However, she is the type of teacher who is serious when it comes to be serious. On the other hand, when there is a space to have fun, she is the funniest and most dynamic teacher. She uses lots of examples to help students understand. Best teacher for speech. I would surely take her again.

Amazing teacher, flexible about due-dates, very interactive lectures. Class has many presentations. She isn't very responsive on Canvas (I think she has online classes that take up a lot of her time), but is very helpful if you choose to talk to her in person.

Took intro to oral online, easy class. There are 1 page summaries for each chapter along with a short quiz. Just as long as you read the chapters and do your presentation within the time recommended, you'll be great. Normal amount of work and quick replies if you had any questions.

I took this course online. Great Professor that enjoys her work. Be prepared to work as nothing comes free. However, if you put in the time, the class is not impossible. Professor Manzueta is a very good speech teacher. She has a very big and outgoing personality. She is really bad at keeping up with grades and responding to emails. She is very funny and outgoing and will always make you laugh during class discussions. Gives good feedback on submitted work. Taught me a lot. I would recommend taking her for speech.

Enjoyed learning about speeches. Great feedback with each speech. Ours was the HONORS Class. Every student earned an A. We all learned so much and had fun learning.
