Ms. Alverez is a great teacher !!!!! She is the best english teacher that IRCC has to offer. Show up to class and try in the class and there is no reason why you can't get at least a B in the class. Easy to talk to and all ways willing to help. And she tries to make the class fun so your not falling asleep.

Ms. Alvarez is very helpful and patient. She's really good at explaining what a story or poem means, and her teaching techniques make class fun. She will also review your essays for you before the due date so that you can get the best grade possible.

She's a good teacher. Seems like she had a lot on her plate, but was always willing to help. Wasn't very interested in the class, although I don't like english. Kinda of a hard essay grader, but no one's perfect. Would recomend her, overall. Pretty easy class. Do your best to show up though.

Great Teacher, gives way to much Info for you to fail and even if you have some problems she'll help you break it down and make things more clear from you, she''s more of a book worm kinda teacher that also plays WOW so dont freak if she dosent reply to you messages just bring it up in calss and she'll be cool with you

She is an incredible teacher! I LOVE her teaching style and her friendly nature. Alvarez is always willing to help and makes sure everyone can clearly understand the concepts. The lowest grade I got in this class, on any assignment was a 93 percent. She is phenomonal and makes English interesting. I HIGHLY recommend her! TAKE ALVAREZ!

Awesome teacher, she expects a lot of work but provides the same amount of help. I hate english and got an A in her class and it wasn't easy. If you hate English i suggest taking her...you may still hate it but you will like the class and if you pass it will be YOUR FAULT.

Great teacher! She makes things really easy and she grades essays very leniently. I got all A's on my essays and that is with putting it off to the last minute and not putting all my effort into it. She's also very helpful and will help you fix anything that you miss or something that you have a question about. Taking her again for Eng Comp 2.

There is not a better ENC prof. out there.She is super nice and tries to make you have fun in class. Not a grammar Nazi. There is:4 essay's, 1 is a research paper, which is a bit of work, a midterm and a final which she gives a very good study guide for. I strongly recommend this prof. As good as it gets as English goes.

This prof is awesome!!! Extremely helpful and is always available to answer questions.Essays are easy, and only 2 pages she also grades fairly. I am taking her again for ENC 1102 she was GREAT!!

EZ! she goes over everything, emphasizes what's on the tests, gives you chances to make up papers/choose your own topics. if you like english and are good at it, this class is a breeze. reviews are posted online and they ARE the midterm/final (just fill-in-the-blank version). also, so loves cats. write about cats.

She is a OK teacher kind of short on her communication skills with students during conversations in her office or on the phone. The final was hard because some of the questions we never learned in class. The study guide took too long to fill in the blanks so it was hard to study after all.Takes too long to respond emails.

She is the best lady to teach English; she shows she care, and she is easy to get along with. I would take her again if had to.

All you have to do is the work and go to class and you will not have a problem. Believe me she was not too picky about the papers and gives extra credit.

She is a good teacher, pretty leanient and not a harsh grader. The syllabus is a bit confusing, but she's very helpful. Didn't have too many essays and were given plenty of time. TAKE HER !

If you don't pass it is because you did not do any work, even if you do poor on a paper she will help you to make it better. I loved having her and wishing I could take more of her classes. Best teacher I have ever had!!! She has a fun and effective way of teaching. Her test reviews are a blast! Very helpful and gives plenty of extra credit opportunities. Not too picky on papers. She used the book for the first half of the class, then stopped. Easy Class if you show up and put a little effort in. I strongly recommend this Professor.

Ms Alverez is the best! If you have to take ENC 1102 take her. She stays sfter clss with you if you need her too and will go over rough draft of paper as many times as you ask here too. If you do the work you will pass with a good grade. Her test are easy as well. Great teacher!!

Camila Alvarez is extremely nice and comprehensive.

Being that I took 6 years off after high school I was nervous about jumping back in to writing papers but Ms. Alvarez was very helpful, you can turn in a rough draft paper a week prior to the final draft and she will give you the chance to correct and errors you may have and she gives several extra credit opportunities overall great class.

Prof. Alvarez is awesome. Her class is simple but her essays are a little hard. You HAVE to think... which overall makes you a better writer. I took her for ENC1101 AND ENC1102. That's how awesome she is. She wants everyone to succeed.

She is so sweet! I did not have a problem with her. There is three essays, many online discussions, a midterm, a final, and a research blog. The research blog is the biggest thing. Do not procrastinate!

I am so grateful to have taken Ms. Alvarez. She is very helpful during class and without her help I would not have got a B in the class. I say that class is mandatory if you do not want to fall behind. Youd should definitely pass the class if you do ALL the assignments and fill out study guides for midterm and final.

this teacher is awesome. there was a total of 4 essays. first one is a descriptive and she grades it easily. the second is a research one but its easy and the 3rd is an in class compare and contrast that she lets you prepare for ahead of time. lastly there is a persuasive essay and one presentation. also she lets you redo any essay if you want.

Great professor, she is very helpful, understanding, and kind. When she teaches in class it can get very slooowwww and boooorrrinnggg but stick with it because it's a very easy class if you stay on top of the work she gives. Tests are easy if you study. Huge research blog at end of semester but ample time to complete. Highly recommended!

Really nice and helpful if you ask for help. Grades pretty easy on essays if you do everything that's suppose to be in it. Tests aren't bad if you pay attention and study a little.

Very odd personality but great teacher. There were 3 major essays, one in class essay, and an oral presentation. A midterm, and Final Exam. That's about it. She helped a lot and gave extra credit too. I recommend her. Some may like her, others probably not. But, I got an A. As long as you TRY you'll pass her class. And show up too!!

Very helpful teacher! She won't make you feel less than what you are and she is very approachable! There are 4 essays, some online quizzes( lets you take them over until you get a good grade), and an oral presentation. Her grading on essays can be a bit tough sometimes, but otherwise an easy class. Would recommend to anyone looking to pass English!

Prof. Alvarez is awesome. This is a writing class and I am a horrible writer. She explains everything that is expected of you and will give you helpful feedback and then allow you to redo if you want a better grade. She has you work together in class so pick a good group to work with. Overall a great teacher to have if you struggle in English.

Great teacher I would take her again. There is a few essays like normal. She gives you all of the information you need. She is very clear and there to answer your emails right away. attendance isn't mandatory but you want to go to get the answers for your midterm and final. I enjoyed every class with her.

Best ENC1101 professor at Indian River. Gives lots of feedback on essays and also lets you rewrite them for higher grade. Take her in class, you won't be disappointed.

Prof. Alvarez is the best english professor I have had, she gives you everything you need for a good essay, and will even go over it with you, she gives out study guides, and loves feedback from her students. She tries as hard as she can to give students the chance to get an A. She cares how her students are, and is extremely flexible. MUST TAKE.

She is willing to go out of her way to accommodate special circumstances and makes sure everyone understands the assignment. She makes herself available through phone, texting, emailing and even one on one appointments by request.

Very neat class, and she's a great teacher. The structure of the class is very based on independance, and you don't even have to read EVERY story listed in the syllabus, it's just important that you read and analyze ENOUGH of them, so that flexibility is nice. She was very understanding when I had a mishap with an online portion of an assignment.

I liked this professor. If you have any problems she's easy to talk to after class. She will let you make u any assignment and give you full credit. She claims she's a hard grader but she grades accordingly which I think she's an easy grader. I find her very outgoing and nice! I 100% recommend taking her. The only think to worry about is due MLA.

Wow, Professor Alvarez was absolutely amazing. She responded quickly for the most part. Gives very good feedback to her students on all work. If you pay attention and take notes during her class you should pass. Very nice woman, you can definitely tell she cares about the students (not an understatement) She sets to bar high for other professors.

Honestly shes an amazing person. She cares about your grade and work. Just talk to her if you need help. Explains everything if you need. Can be a hard grader if you dont follow directions. You can makeup work if not happy with grade. Gives little happy grades too. I recommend. 2nd time Ive taken her!!

So, I know I put down "lots of homework" but she is seriously a very very cool professor. I did not do well on my PERT test and had to take 1101 with Integrated reading and writing which was also awesome. She truly cares about her students and If you do not get something she will definitely help you with it.

Dr. Alvarez is wonderful. She is very caring and wants the class to succeed. The essays are not easy but you just need to put in the effort and learn from the feedback she gives. A few times through the course I said how I hated the class, but when it comes down to it, she is great and you will benefit from taking her courses. Highly recommend!

Although this was a online class Dr. Alvarez provided lots of reassurance and excellent feed back which kept me encouraged, and inspired to keep making an effort. I leave her class feeling that I am a better writer, thinker, and reader, which are all essential to succeed in college.
