Camille is an amazing math teacher and should be taken! Her point/grade system is designed for students to get As and Bs come the end of the semester. I didn't have to take the final because I did well throughout the course. She gives LOTS of HW but doing that makes math EASY. Be on time also, she hates it when people are late. IMO best 118 teach.

If you need to take math 017 or 118, TAKE HER!!!! She makes sure everybody understands before she moves on. Yes, there's a ton of homework but it helps you out and it's all worth it because Camille is amazing. Easy A if you do all or even 90% of the homework and pay attention. GREAT Teacher! I would take her in a second if she taught Math 151 & Math 152. I've recommended her to any student that asks, "Who's a good math teacher?" Only downside, too much homework but homework helps you with the tests so can't really complain and it's not mandatory. She leaves it up to the student.

I had her Spring of 2009 and if you come to class, do the homework (at least most even though there is way too much), ask questions and do well on the quizzes/tests, you will do well in her class. Excellent teacher, I had come from an alternative high school and had never learned Algebra, and she was very clear and always willing to help her students. She requires a lot of homework which she will check to make sure you completed straight from the text book, but without it I would have never retained the information.

Prof. Mairs is one of the best math professors at CCP. She is very organized and provides clear expectations for the course. I took her for 3 semesters Math 161/162/171.

I, also, took 3 classes with Mrs. Mairs (161, 162 & 172). Gave up my Accounting 101 Class because she was teaching Calculus 1 (171) on that night. She is, definitely, THE BEST teacher I've ever had. She is VERY clear, VERY helpful. She enjoys teaching, loves the subject and tries to make her students enjoy Math.

She will give you help whenever you need it. She's there a few hours early for a study group. The material is difficult to get everything in with 1 day a week for 4 hours, so the study group will help a lot if you have the time. Overall, she's a good teacher there's just a lot of work

Nothing short of amazing! THE BEST TEACHER EVER!!!!! Always there for you when you need help, whether it be via text, email, call, or facetime... I would absolutely take her again! If you can get in her class, DO IT! (although it does fill up fast) You will have to earn your grade, and homework is very important.

She is a good teacher that wants you to pass. I took her for math 118 and their was no possible way of failure, but I took her for math 161 and it was really hard. The tests were almost impossible and there's no way to really bring up your grade. The extra credits were only worth a point. She is a good teacher though and she offers study groups!

The best Math professor at CCP. There's a lot of homework but it helps you with the quizzes and tests. Quiz beginning of every class on previous lecture. Assigned a ton of extra credit. Explains well. Hope I get to take her again. Made me like math.

I really enjoyed learning calculus with Mrs. Mairs. The only imperfection is that it's too easy. During the lectures she breaks down each problem to a school level math; therefore, it's virtually impossible to get lost. If, in addition, you do your homework (50 probl/week), you will definitely pass with B or A.

Hands down best teacher of Precalc and calc just do the homework and you'll get 100 on the tests I promise.

Mairs was such an amazing instructor. She really cared about her students and their success. Her class was pretty straight forward. Quiz/Test in the beginning of class, then lecture for about 1.5-2 hours. She gives plenty of extra credit and drops two quizzes and a test(you can drop your final as well).

AMAZING professor. Encourages you to ask questions, provides a lot of leniencies when it comes to grading (you get to drop a quiz and an exam), provides extra credit, and doesn't waste your time by making sure she uses every last minute possible. I would take her class 100 out of 100 times.

The best math teacher at CCP. I took her Math 161 and Math 162, and will take 171 during the fall semester. She explains well, gives a lot of extra credit, lets you drop one exam. I always finish my semester earlier because I do not have to take the last exam

A great professor, gives a lot of extra credit. She is always willing to help after class. 4 hour classes never last four hours, so she does not waste time. Sometimes she can block the board, but other than that she is a great teacher. If you do homework you'll do fine.

Professor Mairs is an amazing teacher. She explains everything. Gives out lots of homework. Weekly quizzes (she chooses questions from homework) and 4 tests( which she gets questions from the quizzes.) So, if you do the homework you'll pass!! She allows one side index card for quizzes& double sided index card for the tests!

Very caring professor but her policies are challenging. She only lectures once a week for 3 hours so every class is very compact. Do yourself a favor and don't miss ANY classes. There are two quizzes every week (one at beginning, one at end). Few office hours but encourages texting or calling if you have questions. Take her but get ready to hustle.

She uses a platform called WebAssign for assignments. I can't tell you how helpful it is. There are many features that help you during homework. By clicking "practice another" you can see the answer and the solution of the same question with different numbers or you can click "watch it" and watch the solution. Also, Prof Mairs is a lovely teacher.

Professor Mairs worked a miracle with me. I've had a math block for many years. I passed with a score of 93. She is patient, encourages your input, and makes herself available at any time. She takes the time to make sure you understand the formulas and the variables used in those formulas. I would take a class with her again.

Professor Mair's was an outstanding teacher. Statistics is HARD, and she dumbed everything down so we could understand clearly. She had zoom classes that went anywhere from 1-4 hours, but it never felt that long. She ensured every student understood before continuing, and no question was ever too dumb. I really appreciate and respect all she did!

I took Statistics 150 over summer 2022. I was not confident. Only six weeks/just o.k. math skills. Professor Mairs is one of the best instructors at CCP! Be prepared for a ton of homework, but is the key with practice for weekly exams. Grading is very fair. She is available for questions. Thorough lectures. TAKE HER!!! Wish more were like her!!

She was literally the sweetest professor you could get. Got her during my first semester and she made going to CCP easier. She gives off for Thanksgiving week and is so understanding. Her style is old fashioned using a chalk board and writing out problems but so easy to follow along with. Assigned homework weekly is 30 questions, and 2 hour quiz.

Professor Maris is passionate about what she teaches. Took her for a hybrid course and she really wants to make sure you get the material. She's pretty responsive whenever you need help. She doesn't give too much homework, about 20 questions or less and quizzes are about 5. They can take up to 2 hours. She does zoom when you cant make it in person

I took Math 251 this Spring semester 2023, and I have a perfect grade on this class. The class was in person but she also gives you the option of joining the live zoom if unable to attend. She is a great teacher, who makes sure you understand the topic and you are ready for the homework & quizzes. I DEFINITELY RECOMMEND TAKING THIS PROFESSOR!!!!!

She was absolutely amazing. Of course, it isn't completely easy. I would take about 2 to 3 hours to complete homework because they were difficult to complete but she explained it quite well and I was able to come back to my notes and do it. There is no final for statistics which is awesome. Quizzes are only a couple of questions.

Took her online during the Summer. You have two homeworks due every week and an exam every Sunday! Didn't communicate much with my professor but her class was fairly easy to take and the math software was pretty good to use (and I hate math.) No extensions or makeups but she will drop lowest scores! Would take her class again.

She's the best at teaching math. I couldn't even notice how my semester ended. We had every week one lesson, and 1 quiz in class, 1 homework, and 1 exam. This continues for 12 weeks, and for 2 weeks, we had to get ready for the final exam. Her platform for homework is the best. We had 5 chances for one example. So I'm taking this professor again.
