She is the greatest teacher I have had in a long time! She is a very thorough and patient teacher. She doesnt rush through the material-she makes sure you understand before going on. I highly recommend taking her class.
I have never been so frustrated with a math teacher before. She seemed annoyed when questions were asked, and there were other students in the class who also felt like she was not approachable.
Very unapproachable, seems annoyed when questioned, Has little or no patients with anyone, and dont you dare forget to turn your phone off in class, or fall asleep... She speaks to everone no matter the age, with no respect!!

this is the WOOOOOOOORST teacher ever.. she sent me out of class for no reason.. how you gunna send a kid out of class in college.. anyways she also hates when you ask her how to do something.. so when you dont understant her bad teaching and you cant ask a question.. YOUR SCREWED!!!
She seems very nice and easy to approach in the beginning, but NOT!!!!! She seem irritated when you ask for help, especially when you need major help even if you show that you're really interested and determined to pass the class with a good grade.
She is the best teacher.
Super prepared. Very thoroughly covers the topics; very methodical. Expects *you* to show up prepared. Lots of homework and quizzes. Not shy when it comes to dealing w/disruptive students. Cultivate a love for doing homework online (i.e. MyMathLab); if the text has a CD-ROM, get it, you'll need it.
One of the best teachers I have had. She is willing to help as long as you do the homework. Doesn’t waste time, she is very organized.
Very clear, very organized, but very strict. Lots of homework & tests are tough. In all fairness; I learned A LOT from Ms. Moreno's teaching.

dropped not once, but twice. cant answer any deep questions. is corrected by students on a daily basis. seems more interested in getting notes done then in helping answer questions.
Bad teacher. I hated her teaching style which was so boring. She will teach you the matieral and then make it way harder on the test than what you learned, uses trick questions on test. I would recommend taking someone else for math if you could.
She is the best teacher I ever had. I take her two classes. She explained the problem until you understand it. She never complain and willing to answer any questions. Lots of good homeworks will help you pass the test if you understand the concept clearly. I recommend her to anybody who want to learn math not just pass the class.
She was the most caring teacher Ive had she realy want to you to understand the basics. Always willing to give extra time to help.
I would not recommend this teacher for Math at all. Her teaching style sucks. She dosent care if you understand or not. She gives quizes everyday and they are hard. You have to do your homework online. Dont take this teacher !!!
bad teacher. hard to understand. tests are hard. doesn't give study guides. lots of hws and quizes everyday. doesn't know the material well. relies heavily on her notes. can't answers questions from the book to student's satisfaction. mumbles to herself quite often. avoide her. F---------------------
She sucks. He quizes are way to hard. She teaches from simple examples then tests you on rediculously hard problems. She is one of those math teachers that thinks math is way more important than it is. Math is ONLY a tool. Gratend the most important tool but it is not the substance it self. She has no idea how math is applied so she sucks as a teac
I agree with the person below. She just copies her notes on the board. She provides simple examples that relate little to the hmk/quizzes/tests. Tests are hard. Do the hwk for practice. Oh, and she takes her time at the beginning of class and rushes the last 5 mins so you are late to your next class. GOOD LUCK.
I hate how she gives you and expects you to do problems that she doesn't even teach you in class. She just EXPECTS that you KNOW how to do the problems themselves. She'll teach you a problem, then totally throw you off by asking a similar question BUT one that is asking for something completely different. It's REALLY frustrating!!!
She's very friendly. If u have ?'s, she'll help u. Approx 1 quiz/week or every other. Didn't touch the book. U have 2 stay on doin ur ONLINE HW on time! That way u'll do well on the quizzes. Plenty of time 4hw. Grade:15% quizzes, 15% HW, 40% Exams. Drops 2-3 low hw's & quizzes. Easy B if u do hw on time. Attainable A. Ur a LAZY ass if u can't.
Her style is very straight forward. She does copy her notes on the board, but they're always thorough and organized. She didnt test us on stuff she didn't teach, just changed the context. Her tests are very difficult because it's calculus. She does cut students some slack by throwing out low quizzes and letting the final replace the lowest exam
She's nice, but i think she plays on favorites at times. Her quizzes and tests are difficult and you really do need to study on your own to get a good grade in the class. I ended up with a B but i struggled to get it. She drops 2 quizzes and replaces your lowest score with your final score at the end of the class.
She is a really nice person. She'll answer any questions that you have. You can tell that she makes a very honest effort to make sure that everyone is on the same page and knows what's happening in class, and that everyone is doing well. Having the homework online was a huge plus, it was a huge help to me. Do your work, pay attention, you will pass
She never gives any extra credit. She sucks. She teaches ok but she grades hard.
Great teacher!! I came into calculus thinking that I am going to suffer, but I didn't.She is a great teacher made calculus easy. She doesn't collect homework but I advise doing it. Extremely helpful.
Did not like this professor, she assigns homework to do but her tests are NOTHING LIKE THE HOMEWORK!
Gives quite a bit of hmk every week. Be prepared to take a quiz every class meeting.
Did not like this professor. Had to drop after two exams. She assigns homework but do not collect them, but her homework are NOTHING LIKE THE EXAMS.
Moreno is a great professor, I took her geometry class expecting the worst, but had it not been for my persistent inability to show up for class I would have got an A. Her methods are good and makes the material very understandable. I took geometry in high school and failed miserably, but she made me understand completely.
Easy to understand. Nice. She's personable and understanding. Some comments were that she messes up, but not more than any other professor teaching math. She's goes through the steps and gives pretty good examples on board. Gives you problems prior to test that gives you an idea what's gonna be on it. Highly recommended.
she is really nice and pretty. she helps you with everything, doesn't mind when you ask dumb questions, very helpful. her homework is online and its a little wierd, but its true, her test and quizzes are nothing like the homework. shes great i really recomend her class!
She is the worst. Leaves everything up to interpretation, vaguely answers questions, and is always at least 5 mins. late. More than half my class dropped from a packed class + waitlist. No make ups no matter what, even with hospital note.
She is very nice and helpful. But her tests and quizes are nothing like the homework. I have recieved an A in every class prior to hers, and I got a c in her class because I never knew what to expect on the test
She is the worst teacher I have ever had hands down. Do not take her class if you can avoid it. She gave me my first C in four years and ever in a math class. THE WORST!
She is an awesome teacher! But she is very fair, she will give you the grade you deserve! If you don't put effort in it will show. And attendance is mandatory if you want to comprehend the material! She is defintely the best math teacher i've ever had! She always answers hmwk questions. And she gives you an optional final, now who doesn't love that?
No talking and cells. Easy notes. Takes u thru bby steps. No books needed, just a cd to do hw. Really nice and pretty. Makes jokes, class is enjoyable. Except when she's not in a good mood. Test/quiz is medium. Have to take an extra 1 unit course. Jst study! Try to get every point. NO EXTRA CREDIT "FAIRY"(as she calls it). ITS DEAD AND LONG GONE!!
professor moreno is the best math teacher ive ever had. she just explains it in a way that makes sense to people like me who dont get math. im still in her class and have a B. i am very happy with this professor! take her! you wont be sorry
Awesome instructor. For a morning class, she is very upbeat and gets the class involved. I would definitely take her for more math classes.
I love this teacher. She explains the material so clearly, answers all questions and she really cares about her students. If you struggle in math, she is the best teacher to take.
Hated This class with a passion! I am actually in it right now! She nit picks every question. Turn EVERYTHING in. No cells even on in her class. She will freak. Also, very boring. Easy to fall asleep. End of semester is getting easier. Tough teacher. Tests suck too!
i love mrs moreno. understanding but strict at the same time. as long as your there to do math and not mess around she will be kind and very helpfull. explains the work very straight forward and does not try and confuse you. I hate math but in her class it amde it more then barable. found myself wanting to be in class. thank you! :)
Great teacher! Clear lectures and gives you what you need to be prepared for the tests. She is somewhat strict but very nice. Just show up ready to do math and you will love her class.
She is great!! She always makes sure you understand before she moves on and is willing you give you many examples!!! Best Math Teacher
I took Geometry with her, she is extremely hard, only writes definitions.Doesn't try to do the problem....i don't recommend anyone taking her
I took Professor Moreno in Spring 2010. She is very clear and crystal in her lectures. Her tests may be a slight difficult but you can ask her if you are not understanding the question. Quizzes daily, no homework but her assigned review problems are very helpful and prepare you well for the test! Practice makes permanent.
Very hard professor, if u don't like math dont take her....It is so stressful.....
Teaches straight out of the book with little/no variation. Her tests are rediculously hard, definately would not recommend!!
WORST TEACHER EVER! MAKES YOU FEEL LIKE YOU'RE WASTING HER TIME IF YOU HAVE A QUESTION. NOT CLEAR AT ALL WITH EXPLANATIONS. CLAIMS SHE "DOESN'T HAVE TIME TO GO OVER HW PROBLEMS" BUT ALMOST ALWAYS LETS CLASS OUT EARLY. HAD A 'C' HALFWAY THROUGH THE CLASS, BUT COULDN'T STAND HER ATTITUDE ANYMORE. I REPEAT DO NOT TAKE HER!
She is crazy hard. You will spend 9-10 weeks doing proofs and on the last test before the final she expects you to memorize 28 formulas (all are on the test). You will have a quiz every day. So you have one day to memorize the section before. It was rediculous. Take some one else. By the way, you will hardly use proofs once you move on.
Definitely strict, but attend class and do the homework and you'll understand the material. If math is not your subject you might need to seek outside help but still a passable class.
NOT HELPFUL AT ALL!!!
Professor Moreno is a very knowledgeable and approachable. Attendance in class is mandatory to fully comprehend the material. I've grown to appreciate math and have the desire to learn more. I recommend her if you have not taken math in a while or just want to brush up on your skills. Keep up the good work Ms. Moreno.
Ms Moreno is great she explains the lessons clearly and if you are there to do yur work and earn your grade she is definately the best
So hard! Quiz everyday on the day b4 notes. Study notes not homework! Her exams r so extensive with no room for error! Take someone else. All proofs and thrms.
The professor teaches well; geometry requires lots of memorization. Took this class over summer and everything was at a fast pace. Overall good professor, nothing to complain about.
I had always hated math. Several times during the summer 2013 session I became worried about my grade, but just sitting down and spending a few hours on the homework worked wonders. Ended up with an "A" to my surprise! Anyway, she comes off as very strict in the beginning but lightens up after a few weeks. NO CELL PHONES! Thanks for a great class!
She often messes up when she is showing an example in class and we will have to correct it. She doesn't answer questions clearly when you go to her office hours. She doesn't care about her students she just wants to finish the material. TESTS ARE HARD AND TRICKY!Spent 22 hours in math lab studying/doing hw and ended up dropping the class with 51%.
I enrolled in Geometry over the summer and it was a difficult course and she expected a lot from the students. With that being said, I am now doing well in Trigonometry largely because of this Geometry class. If you are interested in learning the material as opposed to getting an easy A, I highly recommend her.
Ok, so I have now finished all the math through DE. Prof Moreno was my Geo teacher in 2012 so she might have changed but when I took this class it was way harder than needed. The truth is outside of a few relating angles primarily with triangles you not use geo again. She will hammer you on mass amounts of useless info all semester.
She is really excited about her subject and knows it well. The problems she had us work on really prepared me for pre-calculus. I've been acing all my Math tests since taking her class. She doesn't just pass you on the bare essentials she really makes sure you understand the concepts you need for higher math as opposed to just memorizing formulas
Great professor, really prepared me for precalc. The reason I am passing precalc is because of this professor.
It's hard but if you study you would be fine, but dont expect for A if you have time and you want to learn math I abslotely recomend her she is very helpfull.
She really wasn't helpful. She expects students to understand the material when she's suppose to be explaining it to us. She gives an excessive amount of homework. It takes up most of the night to do. Her test are okay. If you need help she will barely help you and ask you to ask other classmates. I don't suggest anyone to take her.
she was good, I took advantage of how easy she was with the homework leaving me with a grade that im not proud of im still in the semester of catching up and bringing it up . But shes awesome
WORST CLASS I'VE EVER TAKEN THIS SEMESTER!!! This class didn't help me at all. The tests and quizzes are super tough especially the final exam!! The lessons are unclear and the lectures are super long. If you're not a math person I recommend not taking her class. Please this will be the last math class you'll ever take!!!
Thought she would be helpful for Math 120. I was completely WRONG. She doesn't help you with anything. Lectures aren't clear sometimes. If you need help with the homework, go to the lab because she will not help you. "What part?" is the answer you'll receive. No extra credit for nothing. She seems she just wants to skim through the semester.
Strict teacher. If you don't care, then she won't care about you either. I took this in the summer and every single day began with a pop quiz. Her teaching is clear but you must pay attention. Throw out anything you remember from high school geometry, college level version of geometry is crazy harder, with major emphasis on proofs proofs proofs.
This class would take as a lot of time and efforts as you can imagine. Bunch of homework , 6 quizzes, and 6 exams. Final is comprehensive and hard. Although this class is business math, but it seems like math rather than business. Make sure that you have bunch of time to study as well as you are good at Algebra before taking this class.
App. 30 problems/homework. Quiz is announced one class before; thus, you have to study ahead and always get ready. Using the book is helpful for exams. Homework is written, so buying an used book is to save your money. Quiz is about concepts and small problem; lecture in the book will cover it. Exams are similar to examples on book, chapter review
Even if you go to class, chances are you still won't pass. She teaches like everyone already knows everything. like no?? That is why we are in this class? She assigns homework and says that she will go over what ever problems when needed? She verbally explains it, which doesn't teach us anything? Do NOT take her. Unless you can teach yourself!
Worst professor. Huge class, approx 50 students and she still speaks in a quiet tone where only the folks within a few feet of her can hear. Teaches like everyone knows the subject already. Says she would go over homework but just explains half the problem.
What she expecting from students is concepts behind the formulas. Study ahead before the lecture and work all problems in the textbooks, especially examples in the textbook, you can pass. This class is not walking in the park, but it really pays off.
I'm taking her this semester and I'm having lots of trouble. She doesn't go over the questions that you have for homework, she will just explain you half and not give you an answer. No extra credit for anything. There is a lot of homework assign and she expects you to know the subject when you are taking that class to learn? Take different teacher.
I find it surprising to see so many bad comments for Mrs. Moreno. Personally, I think she is a great teacher, she has all her lessons planned out and does not take distractions (especially phones) in class lightly. If you don't like it or aren't able to pass it, then it might not be the teachers fault.. If you put the effort in, you should pass.
She is completely rude and arrogant. No help on homework and ignores if you don't completely understand it. It's her way or the highway. Doesn't teach new teaching methods that are easier to use and understand.
You have to study and do your work. She is a great teacher and I would recommend people to take her.
Very difficult math course, her lectures are very stale and on top of that, she is a very quiet professor. Even sitting at the front row I can barely hear her. The content of the homework is difficult compared to what she covers in her lectures. I've known some classmates who have studied for hours on end only to get C's or lower on her exams.
Tough class, hard to hear her, and she grades only the even problems on the homework. If you don't understand the concepts fast and early, you will easily get D's on the weighted homework part. Tests aren't as tough as the homework but there is plenty of room for failure. Almost HALF the class DROPPED, so prepare to put some effort or fail.
She does not care about her students passing or learning the concept. She rushes through the chapters, never clear, talks quietly, wont help until you call her out on it, test are super hard, she loves to trick you on the quizzes and tests. The quizzes are like mini exams. Do not take this class when you have a busy schedule, class is time consumin
I didn't like her at first because she grades strictly but after getting used to her she's nice. She's a bit strict and stays on task, she doesn't do anything online and offers a fair amount of points between the homework and the quizzes. Also do the whole study guide when studying as some of the test questions she takes from the textbook and hw.
Better homework scores better test scores. Nuff said.
If you need extra help in algebra this is not the class for you. She does not like to answer questions. She rushes through each class and doesn't take the time to explain each step to solve an equation. The only reason I passed this class is because I had a tutor.
Difficult class, wouldn't recommend if Math is a weak subject for you. Lectures: Doesn't spend much time on topics. HW: Grades based on how many you get correct from her choosing, can easily fail HWs. Text: Expensive, $100 to rent, older editions not allowed. Quiz/Exams: Hard questions, reviews will not help much unless you understand it well.
This is a really hard class! If Math is not your favorite, choose another professor! She is a nice person but very tough professor.
As a course, i have no complaint. As a professor, by far the worst ive had. She makes everything harder than it really is. Ive yet to find any of her methods useful, I've always had to turn to another source. I think its time to retire because both her n her teaching is outdated. PS- the bathroom is prohibited. Good luck.
She will tell you how to do something once, and if you don't get it the first time, you're screwed. Doesn't help you all the way through homework questions, or offer sufficient review for tests/quizzes which is unfortunate since you can't retake them either. And if you're still considering her, sit in front of the classroom, she's very quiet!
STAY AWAY FROM THIS TEACHER! Not very approachable, relies too much on her notes, her exams are hard and have absolutely nothing to do with what was covered in class lecture, homework or the study guides! She doesn't answers questions from the homework! I recommend taking Mike Yarbrough instead, he's the complete opposite of Moreno!!!
Not the worst math teacher. Explains concepts pretty fine. Her quizzes and exams are a bit harder than the homework so SI is a must and doing ALL the practice problems she assigns in homework and before exams. We had 4 exams throughout and a final. Homework is paper and online. Pretty nice lady, however, takes a while to reply to emails.
If you ask for help and put in the effort, she will do everything she can to keep you on the right track. This is the only professor that I think actually cares about her students. Amazing.
She is straight forward with grading. You have a lot of homework like any normal math teacher. Her quizzes are harder than her test but test are still kind of hard if you don't study. Shd gives easy examples in lectures but has really hard questions on the test. She also sometimes doesn't finish your question so you can figure it out on your own.
She is really nice but I didn't feel that she explained things vey well. The quizzes are harder than the exams, but the exams are still pretty hard. Tutoring definitely helped.
Professor Moreno is an amazing math teacher that will help you in building your confidence in Math. I took her for Math Boot camp over the summer she was very clear and patient to explain problems to me. Great teacher that genuinely cares! Any time I had a question outside of class she was available.
If math isnt your best subject dont take her class! I felt the way she taught made things more confusing.
Quiz questions were completely unrelated to the homework, was an extremely unreliable and RUDE professor and very uncooperative. At one point last semester she even made me sit on the floor for a student who walked in an hour late. Unbelievable.
I wish i had listened when I read these review but I took a chance because her class was the only one that fit my schedule. I would get 10s on the homework but failed the quizzes and test no matter how much i studied. She is a nice lady but very tough. Do not take her if you struggle with math.
Probably the worst professor to take. Very tough grader. No matter how hard I studied I still failed her quizzes and tests. Tests were harder than the homework assignments/study guide.
She seems to care about her students only if you understand completely what is being taught. Do not take her if you have memory issues and are not good at math.
Read the poor reviews but still took a chance since her class fit in my schedule and I ended up really enjoying it. If you have a question she'll take the time to answer it and go over problems again. Homework isnt graded after the second exam but still do it for practice. Final is cumulative but she gives a study guide and practice exam
Moreno was an alright professor, as there was nothing to her character that made her stand out compared to others. As for her methods of teaching, most days you will cover two sections but sometimes three are scheduled in one day. She rushes on these days, to accommodate for the time limit, which ultimately destroyed any understanding I had with it
She tends to rush, but if you want to pass her class, just do the homework (MyMathLab), classwork (in class after each lesson), and do good on the exams. The exams are not hard if you know what you are doing and studied. She does drop the two lowest homeworks and classwork.
I took this class with her in 2014, and I was able to do well. I would say that if you are a strong math student like me, you should do fine in her class. However, if math is a weak subject for you, you will likely fail her tests and have trouble understanding her concepts. I suggest signing up for tutoring or Math Lab if she is your last resort.
I had no expectations going into this class. I have always been a very good math student however besides the coursework being difficult. I felt I had no type of resources to help me. She had posted lab and office hours and me being a full time student and athlete, I wasnt able to make it then. She grades homework and doesnt go over it...
horrible professor. do not take her class. she expects you going into class already understand everything and skips a lot steps in the example. she only cares about the students who are already doing good in her class. if you are struggling she will make you feel stupid.
Do not take her class if you haven't taken a math class in a long time. I'm usually very good in math and I had a hard time understanding her lecture. She expects you to understand majority of the formulas and does not do any test review before the test (WHICH MADE THE TEST SUPER HARD). I wouldn't recommend anyone taking her class.
WORST professor ever.. She pretty much told me I should drop out of school, because I occasionally care after my sick mother. I tried to go to the chair about this but of course could never get ahold of anyone. She's the rudest human-being I have ever come in contact with. She should not being working with young mind.
HORRIBLE professor. I do not even know why she is still employed, let alone the chair of the department. Hard grader for no reason, doesn't explain her grading and thinks the world revolves around her. I took AP Calculus in high school, got a 4 on the test & am doing horrible in her intro class, with tutoring. She needs a new profession.
Professor Moreno is amazing. Very thorough in her lectures. Tons of inof given during lectures, don't skip them. Take advantage of her office hours. She is willing to work with you to get a passing grade. Tests and exams are heavily weighted.
I would say professor Moreno is ok. She is nice, and her lectures are very informative, there is a lot of homework you have to do, but they are rather easy. Her tests are heavily weighted and she always adds at least one tough question in them. Overall, I do recommend her if you are good at math.
