There is a paper every week and a quiz every other week I like it cuz it feels like a high school class.
This Professor Is very nice and caring, She helps others pass as much as possible to pass this course
Super generous! Professor Broussard is very fair and offers equal opportunities for everyone. She's amazing!
Professor Broussard is caring and compassionate. She communicates effectively and help with problems throughout the semester. Highly recommend.
The class was okay. The quizzes are very difficult to pass, but she grades essays easy. The module setup is very confusing and it is hard t find assignment. However, she does give extra credit.
The class was okay, but she is a very tough grader.
Not good if you have questions, she will not answer them clearly. She might even leave you having more questions after you ask her your main question.
Wonderful Professor, very understanding. I'm glad I took this course. Very caring professor.
Best Professor Ever... Very understanding, and caring
Self taught material.
she's not that bad but her online anytime class outline is very confusing. assignments come up out of no where. I would say take her if you have to but be very careful with it. the deadline. also, her quizzes are very very confusing.
I've learned that in creative writing class, there's no magical formula for writing well. It's like drawing class; you are taught the fundamentals and then you learn mostly through experience. Fortunately, the professor is really forgiving and will give you a good grade as long as your work looks like you, at the very least, put some effort into it
Good, very professional. Clear guidelines. Would take again.
Professor Broussard is a great professor who makes everything clear and easy to understand. She is extremely helpful and understanding.
Her online class makes no sense, like none. Essay topics don't make sense the way she grades makes no sense. Avoid at all cost
Honestly her layout was very confusing when it came to writing essays. She takes long to reply to emails.
This professor wasn't bad at all, it's just there were only a few assignments so you have to get a good grade on them and we had a group project in which she graded it tough which brought my grade quite a bit down. You should take this professor if the other professors you get to choose have worse ratings. I recommend taking her still though.
Prof Broussard was very nice and helpful throughout the course, but her instrcutions were very confusing and the grading for essays did not make sense to me. Still a pretty smooth course, though. Would recommend but be warned that there is a lot of reading.
Although the professor seems nice, the class isn't structured very well. Almost all of the course teaching content comes from YouTube or the British Literature Wiki, requiring you to teach yourself. Her instructions on assignments are extremely vague and she does not provide rubrics. Take her if you must, but be prepared to teach yourself.
The class online us pretty hard to understand, essay instructions are a bit unclear.
It was an online class and none of the announcement of the assignments were clearly stated and wants us to navigate assignment's to the module section instead of the assignment tab in canvas Very confusing class
She is very nice and willing to help in any way she can, however, the course layout is quite confusing. Directions for most things are unclear and the canvas page does not even have an assignments tab.
Would not recommend
This class was simple but very heavy on reading provided materials, few assignments so it is necessary to finish everything possible. Some instructions are confusing and contradictory but it is easy to clarify by asking the professor. Overall, relatively easy and smooth.
Overall a decent professor, sometimes instructions for assignments were a bit confusing but for the most part she makes it easy to communicate any questions you may have.
The Professor's quizzes are something you need to read carefully and study. This class is extremely easy if you pace yourself or else it will be tedious.
I took this professor in the summer, so it was a 5 week course. A LOT of unclear instructions so you have to message her a lot, but she's nice and response timely. 1 syllabus quiz, 3 course quizzes (used notes/sources and still failed...idk), 2 essays, and a group project (I got a good team so our project turned out great & she praised us a lot.)
There are 4 quizzes, 2 papers, 1 group project, 3 extra credits, and a couple of discussions. If you do take this class, spam the professor with emails on everything if you're not sure. Also, when doing the group project submit both the presentation and presentation abstract (even if it says just the presentation abstract).
Professor Broussard is genuine and welcoming, but her grading criteria are unclear. We recently had a 10-person project, which seemed unrealistic for an online summer course. Managing 10 people was challenging, and those who did the work and stayed up late received the same grade as those who didn't contribute at all. It feels unfair and stressful.
Professor Broussard's assignments are very independent. Your writing topics aren't handed to you so it requires more brainwork but then again, it is a college course. This class is challenging for procrastinators. You need at least 3-4 days for each assignment.
Professor Broussard is a very sweet teacher and she is good at messaging students back on time. We had a group project and it is alright if you and your teammates communicate. The professor is unclear about her instructions for certain assignments and it costs many students a deduction in points.
Professor Broussard is a very nice professor and she helps you whenever you need it. One thing I think she might be able to improve on is the instructions because they were quite unclear. It's okay though because she is very nice when you ask questions and appreciates it when you ask.
Professor Brossard is nice and very welcoming. She answers all your questions with a smile and is very kind. Would take her again!!
Very understanding! Will reply to your emails on time. Gives you all the resources you need so you should be good as long as you do the work on time.
Professor Broussard is a very nice professor. She gives you what you work for, although her grading and rubric requirements aren't very clear.
She is a very good teacher because she answers all your questions, but sometimes instructions are a little unclear.
Class modules and assignments are hard to navigate, and she grades really tough, but she makes up for it with BUTTLOADS of extra credit. Headache that resolves itself.
I took this class in the summer and it was straight forward. She doesn't allow the Grades tab to be available because she wants you to specifically follow the modules tab. First essay is broad and allows for you to choose the topic on what you learned during the module.
Took her 5 week course and there was two 1500 word essays a group project anf two quizzes super easy class just do the work!
If you like "surprises" take her. She makes the class annoyingly difficult.
The class was pretty well organized and was good.
It was nice class.
Professor Broussard is very helpful and she gives good feedback on assignments. Her videos on the modules are very helpful.
Professor broussard is a good teacher but she takes a while to respond to emails. She also is a very critical grader and pays attention to the smallest details.
She gives surprise quizzes
Proffessor Broussard prepares me to write college essays pretty well. She gives good tips on how to draw in the audience with your writing in the way the audience can understand. Overall, I sometimes like how she gives us off days and let us take time to work on our essays together as our collegues. I find that great.
Really good class to take, just make sure to due all your work in time. Also be ready to work in groups.
This is an online class She gives good feedback on discussions
I'm not very good with technology, but I've used canvas for 4 years. This has been my "all time" hardest class to navigate through canvas. (For example) the last assignment in module 1 is due the "21st", but module 2 could have an assignment due the18th. Assignment due dates are mixed up, so pay very close attention. You better know MLA format!!!
I am currently taking this class online. The professor gives adequate feedback but I won't recommend taking this class with her.
Lots of reading, quizzes are hard. Good feedback on essays.
not a hard class but takes a while to submit grades
I enjoyed having her as a professor for my online summer class. She was extremely forgiving during the first 2 weeks of the course due to the hurricane that hit Houston. She grades very fairly. Make sure you pay attention to the reading as the quizzes can be difficult.
She is chill just do her work.
Professor Camisha always respect her students. She will answer your question if you get any problem. Also, she is a great teacher who makes the class engaging and easy to understand. She explain things clearly and are always willing to help if you have questions.
she is a pretty good teacher just to your work
The deadlines are well spaced out but the grading is a bit harsh
she doesn't answer her inbox and says she accepts late work but doesn't honor it. She killed my dog and called me the f word
I would like to inform students who are thinking of taking this course that she may not always respond to every message, and her responses can be unpredictable.
Professor Broussard is a person who has high expectations from you when it comes to English essays. Her approach in teaching is to allow us to be creative and think more openly without instructions, just formatting, however, this sometimes makes it difficult to meet her expectation and what she needs from us. I wish there was more explaining.
Prof. Camisha is a kind and supportive teacher. She's not too strict and respects her students. I really appreciate the extra credit opportunities she gives, especially for being on time, which help a lot. Her feedback is helpful and encourages me to improve.
This class was ok, the professor is not really present, only when giving feedback on essays, etc. The only thing I did not like was the group essay and discussion. For this class you will have to do group assignments and most of the time the other people don't answer which makes it hard. Overall, the class wasn't hard, she is a tough grader.
Great professor. Her grading can be rough but she gives VERY GOOD FEEDBACK! She helps if you help her. Easy class to pass
Prof. Broussard is not very present when replying to inboxes regarding questions about the assignments which make the assignments more tedious to complete. Most of the assignments and their instructions are posted at the beginning of the semester which is good for the long run.
she is a good teacher, do not be afraid to ask questions and participate in the class.
she's very strong professor, but she's very helpful. She let you to study and doing your great job as a question and understand anything. if you are listening carefully.
- Essays you write are most of your grade: take them seriously - Quizzes are tough more so because they are multiple choice and a lot of questions rely on your own interpretation of things rather than objective answers - Group work is a part of this course: prepare for the worst case scenario of group members not reaching out or helping at all
I don't particularly love writing at all. More of Math and Science guy. But Prof. Broussard was very respectful and helpful. I wasn't particular of the class when we began but it turned out a very pleasant semester. Group projects seemed too worked more for me as I don't have any knacks for writing, but it wasn't bad at all.
Professor Broussard gives students a lot of chances to get extra credit and they are easy to get. She gives many online sources such as academic website, video on You Tube in modules to make students clearly understand her lectures. Although her instruction for assignment are vague, she is ready to answer students questions during class.
Overall a great professor. She does provide a lot of extra credit opportunities.
This professor tends to blame everyone but herself when a vast majority of the class tends to fail, is a tough grader, and doesn't explain herself well.
The professor was not very accommodating or flexible, which made it challenging to engage with the material effectively.
She took till the last week of the semester to grade major essays. She is EXTREMELY disorganized, responds to emails after 1-2 weeks. She is a very tough grader, just because of one simple mistake (forgot to put the class number) on an essay she gave a 50. Hated this class so much, I hope she learns to be better, because she was extremely strict.
She is amazing in explaining anything you don't understand, and never try to debate with her because she is going to win. Secondly, she respects everybody and she is not strict with anybody. She give the chance to all people to try and give them a good time duration to get done with the assignments. She is so helpful if you asked for help.
I want Houston Community College to make this professor get connected with other students through canvas
She has brought us a lot of new things, also gave me many chance to experience the different culture deeply. I appreciate all of this so much.
The professor demonstrates strong professional abilities, with a clear and engaging teaching style. They are highly effective in conveying complex material in a way that is easy to understand, making the learning experience both accessible and enjoyable.
She is a good teacher with high-quality lectures. She makes class easier and more interesting.
She is very nice and hard working
She is a good teacher. She leads everyone to directly objections. She give us a wonderful time to study
.i am not sure yet
im not sure yet
Class is overly confusing. Directions, writing prompts, and expectations are always unclear. Extremely tough grader and hardly if ever responds. She will force y
I enjoyed this class alot. She is honest with students. I appreciate her work.
Professor Broussard is a thoughtful and supportive instructor. She truly cares about his students' success and takes the time to explain concepts clearly. Her feedback on assignments is detailed and helpful, andhe encourages students to think critically and improve their writing.
little instruction for assignments, constant group work, poorly made quizzes that the whole class fails, and trivial lectures- Didn't learn about English Composition
Such a kind and helpful professor! Always quick to respond to emails and takes the time to make sure you understand the material. Very approachable and supportive, which makes a big difference. The class is fair, well-organized, and not too difficult if you stay on top of things.
I like the professor really nice at teaching i convinve everyone to study un her class and take it its good class and easy and the professor knows how to reach and make it clarified in the class and help students in a good way i like like the class that is helpful and students are helpful and the professor care to make it easy for students in class
I just finished taking her for British Literature I and she's honestly a good choice. You can use AI, you just have to tell her. She gives you plenty of time to do all the work. First essay was a group one which is honestly not that bad. Her instructions are a little unclear sometimes, however you just have to really read them. I would recommend.
She is a great professor and gives enough time to submit essays, three quizzes in total and two of the lowest quizzes were dropped, lots of extra credit opportunities given. Overall a good professor
