Great class would definitely take again as my writing skills improved but be ready to read and tough grader.
Great class would take again but tough grading and lots of reading.
All you have to do is do the work early, and listen to the feedbacks given to you, and you will be alright.
Very nice professor was never too much work and helped students along the way with what they needed.
She is an amazing teacher when it comes to learning new units, and even though you think you might know everything there is to English and essay she'll be right there to give some unexpected information. Make sure to turn in work in on time, the assignments will lock you out if you do not turn it in on time. P.s there is no pop-quizzes.Overall10/10
The Professor is an amazing teacher. Although she does often assign a good amount of homework and is specific on how she likes her assignments to be done. I recommend for her new students to catch up on their readings and do their homework on time! The professor does not accept late submissions, but does give you an opportunity to do extra credit.

The professor gives out very useful information on how she is going to grade in the assignments. The requirements are listed in any assignment and she does not accept late work. Gives useful feedback on assignments.
Very nice professor was very flexible and helped students along the way with what they needed. She grades pretty tough but will also give great feedback that can help you later .
Great class but it is very time-consuming. It will be assignments that you may want feedback on. She will give you the best feedback to help you in the long run. In addition, she always give extra credit that can help you in the class.
Professor Broussard is a great teacher. Her lessons are straight forward so no time for day dreaming. She is precise in what she expects, but not in a hard way. She knows her students potential, and pushes them to greatness. Overall, great teacher, great lesson, really lets you speak your voice and options.
She's gives you a voice. The class dynamic helps for one not to see only their POV. She's precise in what she expects from her class, yet her feedback is beneficial to give your best. Overall, she's a great professor who's classes help you prepare for anything. Work, Socially, School, etc.
You will do a lot of individual writing and group work. The class is usually lively.
She did the best she possibly could to fit around the high school schedule with all the troubles with it, helped me gain independence in writing, and staying on top of stuff gave me more insight into how real college professors are. She didn't grade abnormally, I'd say she graded fairly and was very understanding, and loved her overall personality.
When Professor Broussard came to my class (she only came 2 times per week for my class) she was fun and gave us an easy way to process essays. Although she was a fun teacher she was strict on deadlines and let her students choose what to write about concerning a certain topic, so it wasn't the easiest class.
Gives quizzes about reading material, the quizzes lock after each question so you cannot go back to previous questions, it is better to turn your work in on time and always get a head start on it, the assignments can be confusing if you do not clarify with her, does a lot of group discussions and did not receive as much feedback as expected.
Parts of the this class could be rather frustrating. Instructions aren't always super clear, be prepared to read alot, lots of papers and pop quizzes. Even after thorough analyzing of the readings quizzes can be tough due to the quizzes being based on personal interpretation. Papers require very specific specifications to get a good grade
Lots of papers Group writing assignments(was not a fan) Tough grader our class average was often very low Pop quizzes that ask very open ended confusing questions at times Teaching style will work for some but not all Be ready to read and write alot
I have learned how to write better essays in her class. She cares a lot about her students. She's very professional and attentive to the needs of her students. She gave her students a lot of opportunities to re-do the essay quiz and writing assignment after the past due date. That says a lot. About her.
She's very precise when it comes to grading and she may not be the best at giving feedback that you can work with. She is definitely willing to be flexible so she's probably a good teacher depending on what your standards are. If you're taking her class, stay up to date with the stories that are due to be read, or else your grade will be affected.
For me as a student with English as a second language it was a challenging and difficult class. It is a class with a calm atmosphere and interesting topics. It is a person who is somewhat harsh when evaluating but leaves us notes with feedback that makes it clear and helps.
Lots of papers Expect to read alot Hearts in the right place but her methods won't work for everyone Random pop quizzes with some rather confusing questions Can be a very tough grader to follow instructions as best you can
Her grading is pretty harsh so try and do your best the first time around. You'll have to write a lot for your major assignments like essays, and there's a lot of group work. You're not allowed to choose your group members so good luck if you're having to work with uncooperative group members.
Often times flexible, but it is not an excuse to procrastinate on her work.
Just attend your classes and do you work and you should be good She gives lots of extra credit
Professor Broussard is a great professor, she help all her students to learn and pass. She always is available for questions and will message you back, she also gives many opportunities for extra credit.
she is an amazing professor, she will help you every step of the way!
Professor Broussard gives lectures that are understanding. The extra credit she gives is very helpful for grades and the pop quizzes are graded kind of high which can bring down your grade. She doesn't give much feedback on essays.
Professor Broussard is available for questions. She provides many opportunities for extra credit. She is definitely open to making changes. Sometimes, pop quizzes can be very open-ended and confusing, but in her class, I've learned how to write better essays. She gives her students a lot of thinking. She's very considerate of her students' needs.
The professor made us feel every connected to us/class, and made it a very comfortable learning environment. The only problem was communication. My grade went from a A+ to a C from a minor miscommunication and in result not getting fixed and my grade lowering even after having multiple conversations.
Read the course readings she gives you! If you have trouble reading I recommend using audio versions on youtube and reading while you listen. Complete every extra credit opportunity you can!

Sometimes, pop quizzes can be very open-ended and confusing, but in her class, I've learned how to write better essays. She gives her students a lot of thinking. She's very considerate of her students' needs.
Course readings are so important for those pop quizzes. Choose your group wisely and talk to your classmates in case you have to miss a day and you need to know what was assigned. You can turn in your assignments early but you might want to wait until she explains what exactly to do in them. Don't be shy to ask questions.
Her in person classes were very enjoyable. She made sure you feel heard and seen at all times. Make sure to prepare for group work.
I love professor broussard because she is a very caring person and she is so sweet.
Very helpful and understanding.
Mrs. Broussard was very understanding and helpful throughout the semester.
Very caring and understanding.
She is a tough grader, but not too tough to where it is hard to pass the class. She offers many extra credit opportunities. She did not have many lectures, the few lectures she gave were pretty resourceful. Overall she was a good professor.
She offers many of chances to get additional credit. She is undoubtedly amenable to change. Pop quizzes might occasionally be highly ambiguous and open-ended, but because to her lesson, I've learnt how to craft stronger essays. She asks a lot of questions of her pupils. She is highly sensitive to the requirements of her students.
Overall, professor Broussard was fairly easy-going and nice, her lectures were very detail. If you take professor Broussard, be expected to be on time, she does not accept late assignment at all. She does have extra-credit opporturnities.
Very good professor. She responds quickly to any questions and overall easy to work with.
Amazing teacher
Professor Broussard is great. She has an amazing vibe to her and she truly cares about your grades offering extra credit. However, I do not recommend taking this class in the summer, simply because you get such a short time to write about a total of 5,000 words under 4 weeks. It's definitely easier said than done. if its a longer-term class TAKE IT
Overall, my time in this class was great it was pretty difficult at first because it is obviously college level, but the professor is really helpful, and also gives you lots of sources to rely on. Just a little thing to add do not be scared to ask questions she will answer very helpfully.
Professor Broussard is excellent English teacher, I definitely take another class with Professor Broussard!!!!!!
Very good class. Professor responds quickly and teaches well.
She responds quickly to inbox and explains everything during class, leaving the last few 20-ish minutes for any questions. She gives a lot of opportunities to have extra credit. Lectures are very detailed on what she is asking for in assignments, and you will need to turn in everything on time.
Professor Broussard is an awesome teacher. She offers a lot of extra credit. Her course is loaded with a lot of material that you need to go over. Be sure to read and understand everything.
Nice professor,
I had a great experience with this course, the professor is willing to work with you and she answers her emails when you need help. She's very understanding if you don't understand or need help. If you have a chance to take this for 8- weeks it is easier you have more time to write the essays. Instead of 5-week.
It is advisable to ask questions when dealing with this professor as the material can be confusing at times due to their high expectations. It should be noted that the professor usually covers several assignments during a single lecture which can appear overwhelming. Nonetheless, overall, she is an excellent professor.
This instructor gives heavy lectures, and there is a lot of reading. She will make sure you understand the instructions and the assignments. She was a little difficult with the three paper we wrote. She is a really good instructor.
Professor Broussard is a great teacher! She's very attentive and super helpful. You get about 2 or 3 quizzes in this class MOST of your grade comes from your essays. She does give extra credit so that helps as well.
I did not spend enough time with this professor to give my deep honest raw opinion, however, this professor is amiable and understanding. I highly recommend anyone try a class with her and see how you like it.
I feel that the professor is very knowledgeable within this subject. I really learned a lot and her teaching style was amazing. It was very easy to engage with the professor and she showed different teaching methods to get to the overall goal.
Professor Broussard is a great lecturer and explains assignments very well, while also offering help and advice to help you succeed during the course.
Personable and nice professor who enjoys facilitating a fun and light hearted essay. She assigns quizzes and essays. She grades essays very seriously and you need to devote a significant amount of time to them if you want to achieve a high grade. Thankfully, there are ample opportunities for extra credit which balances out some of the stress.
Professor Broussard's English 1302 class was an absolute standout. Her passion for literature ignited engaging discussions and brought classic works to life in a modern context. Her approachability encouraged diverse perspectives, creating a safe and open learning environment.
Great teacher, lots of extra credit and answers all the questions you have. Really engaging lectures as well.
Professor Broussard provides a clear picture of what is expected from the course and does an excellent job of refining her students research and writing skills.
The teacher's work can be hard if you take it as a mini. It can be time consuming. The essays are long, but I did learn a few new things about writing and critically thinking.
Professor Broussard is amazing and her class is not too bad as long as you pay attention to all the due dates. There aren't many assignments so you need to make sure you do well in the few assignments that are graded. Something I didn't like was that there weren't any examples to look at when doing a essay.
Professor Broussard is very nice and you can tell she loves English. She can be a tough grader at times, but if you make sure to follow all instructions and complete all your work on time, you will do really well in her class.
I took a minimester during the summer, and it wasn't too bad. There were 3 essays, 1 peer review, and a few quizzes. The essays are 85% of the grade so make sure to take your time on them.
I liked everything about this class besides one thing. Professor Broussard doesn't provide any examples with the essays, just instructions. As a visual learner, I feel like examples help me way more, and if she had them I'd rate her a 5/5.
This class isn't bad at all, just pay attention do all deadlines. This professor also provides alot of extra credits so make sure to do that as well.
This class is pretty straightforward and the essays are self explanatory. The hardest portion of this class are the quizzes. This is because some questions and answer choices don't really make sense.
Professor Broussard is very kind and always nice. She expects the best out of her students and encourages everybody to their best.
I found this class to be pretty hard not only because of the essays but also because of the pop quizzes we had to do. These quizzes were very difficult so make sure to read and understand everything fully.
This class is very simple and straightforward. Everything you need is one the syllabus. Make sure to follow instructions because that is a big thing.
Although this professor is a tough grader, she provides a lot of insight on how to be better and is very encouraging.
Professor Broussard responds to messages in a timely manner, usually by the end of the day or next day at most. She offers multiple chances for extra credit. You will have to read a lot because the quizzes and essays are very specific to the readings required. Overall a very nice lady and an easy going class.
There is only one thing I would change about this class, and that is having an example to look at when writing essays. Besides that it was very easy.
The professor is very kind and nice, and she's also very respectful. She can be a tough grader but for the most part, her class is easy.
Her course was pretty confusing at first, and a lot of stuff wasn't needed. Her syllabus quiz was also confusing and some answer choices are poorly worded. After a few weeks I got used to it, but it's still unnecessarily tough.
Very easy course, and the professor is very kind. Lots of extra credit too!
I had Professor B. as an online english class. Overall very clear on instructions and what she expects from essays. there were only 3 essays and like to quizzes.1 personal and 2 critical reads/argumentative essays. I would take her again and she responded very fast to emails. make sure to read the syllabus throughly.
She replies really fast no matter the time. The quizzes are gonna get ya though. only 3 essays.
Had videos that answered every questions but although helpful could be length. A bit strict but reasonable. Lots of books to read.
I highly recommend taking Professor Broussard; she is a clear grader and gives excellent feedback to improve essays. She provides plenty of chances to improve grades and has a light workload. There are three essays, the first one is 1500 words, and the next two will be 2000.
Although Professor Broussard is a tough grader, she's a great teacher and pushes her students to their highest potential. Be sure to study for the quizzes extremely hard. Also remember to complete your readings because you will see questions regarding them on your quizzes.
The class was surprisingly easy. If you're not self-disciplined, I don't recommend taking online anytime.
The class was split up into modules, making it easy to organize and manage the work given. There are not many grade, but as long as you follow the instructions, you will do well.
Tough grader, took this online in a compressed form. I would recommend taking it during a normal semester. Other than that she communicates well if you mess up just one assignment your not going to do well.
Would Take this class again! Clear Grading but make sure you follow the criteria. Clear with due dates and not loads of work.
Professor Broussard is very nice and gives clear instructions of what's expected. She response in a timely manner and she is there when you need help. She also gives you chances for extra credit which will help boost your grade up if you need it. Overall Professor Broussard was great and I would take her class again.
Shes a cool professor. Really took out the time to layout the course. She has even made her own videos for instruction. Be sure to read directions on essays, and don't be afraid to ask questions. Took this class over the summer, and there were 3 essays, 2 quizzes and 3 chances to get extra credit, and 1 chance to do a make exam that doesn't replace
She is a caring teacher & want everyone to succeed. This class was easy, just make sure you don't cram your work. She like good essays that Follow Directions that is given. There is 3 essays from short stories that she provides & she offers EXTRA CREDIT! I'm a single mother, working 2 jobs, so if I find it easy/manageable, then you got this!!
Be sure to read directions on essays, she gives clear feedback and answers all questions you need.
she's a tough grader but overall, no complains.
My first semester in HCC has been so stressful because of this "professor", she doesn't upload all of the material of the course until its the very last minute which is beyond terrible if your trying to get ahead or finish all of your essays or quizzes before the due date. HCC should look in future professor's teaching skills, she doesn't have any.
Absolutely horrid teacher...would not take her. She doesn't respond to emails and is an unjust grader. Stay away. The assignments lack information and detailed directions on how you are being graded. The teacher is not inclined to assist you in any way and often times seems bothered by her students asking questions. No rubrics. Condescending...
Honestly Professor Broussard works with you as long as you work with her. Just read do the essays as she advisved(MLA format) and pay attention tot what she says in class for the quizzes. Avery understanding teacher and i would definitely take her again.
Very helpful and informative.
I liked her. She was fun.
She's super laid back and pretty generous in her grading just make sure you do your work.
Ms. Broussard is a great instructor by most measures, she is caring, funny, fair, and accommodating. With this being said, sometimes organization can be an issue.
She was a good professor just that some of the essay's you have to really think about but she gives extra credit so you will be fine. She gives plenty of time for the essays but a lot of readings for quizzes so be ready for that.
Professor Broussard is suuppeerrrr AMAZING!!!!!! If you have the ability to take her class, I would recommend her class 1,000,000%
I think she's a nice lady. The assignments were not too easy and not too hard. There was one particular assignment that I found the instructions a bit confusing. To be fair, when we brought issues to her attention she was ready and willing to assist in doing what was needed to make things right.
she is a very nice and caring professor, but her work is difficult and gives vague directions for assignments.
She is pretty funny and is great during the lectures portion of the class. She gives writing days so that you can focus on just your essay. But, she also cannot make up her mind and her directions are hard to understand. I had to resort to asking other students about assignments because what she said in class did not match the online directions.
The Professor was very clear in her grading, was understanding of our problems and issues, little late to grading paper but, overall I would take this class and Professor again
Ms. Broussard is great teaching wise but some things computer wise, she's okay. She hilarious and will keep your attention the entire class. She is very helpful and invoices that if you are trying she can be lenient to her student's. Be prepared to read and analyze everything!. I would recommend her if you actually want to learn something.
She is a tough grader but she will help you out when you reach out to her. Do not expect grades to be put in quickly. Pay close attention when you are in class as she will change instructions on the spot to help make the assignments easier for the students.
Most merciful teacher I have ever had and made me want to actually try to be good at english.
This professor is amazing she is about one of the most clear professors you can find. Before attending class I was so nervous, she explains everything so well and also offers extra credit throughout the semester, I would definitely take this professor for all classes if I could.
This class was one of the classes that I looked forward to. She is an amazing human being and her energy makes you feel comfortable really quick. She is clear and patient with what she expects in our essays. I enjoyed her class and because of her demands on the first essay (ice-breaker essay), I was able to quickly mingle with my classmates.
She is a very good professor. She will help out if you reach out to her. Just be ready for grades to not be put in a timely manner.
pros: - good personality - grace period until 5am for essays - attendance not mandatory - extra credit - 10 question quizzes - gives us the day for quizzes/essay cons: - side tracks alot - doesnt really respond - alot of reading, long essays - unclear instructions - takes long to grade
Shes funny and a cool professor. The essays are what'll get you, specifically the last 2. You'll be good if youre a good writer.
She's a very nice teacher and she'll give you extra time to finish your assignments. You'll have to listen to her directions to understand what's she saying. Sometimes it can be confusing but you would have to meet her in person for help.
She's a good professor and I would recommend to all students. She also isn't that tough of a grader, she will be pretty lenient on your first fee assignments but will grade tougher over time.
This professor is very flexible and very understanding of students personals life and situations. Class itself was very instructive and very interesting.
Good Professor. She is very friendly to students.
Pro - Grace period for essay, understanding and helpful, extra credit, 2 writing day for essay, no textbook, helpful, Quick asscessible Con - Reading a lot of short story (no assigment connect to it, except quiz), Quiz score is based on the average rather then the best score, Slow grading paper, Essay promt sometime hard to understand
Awesome Professor. The lecture is outstanding.
Professor Broussard is very caring and understanding. She cares a lot about the students and gives great explanations whenever you need it. A lot of extra credit opportunities are given during the course. I would definitely take the course again.
She is a good and helpful professor. She always makes sure students know what they need to understand in an assignment. The assignment you feel may be a bit heavy but she is always ready to help you if you need it. One thing I like even more is that she gives a lot of Extra Credit to make up your grade.
Professor Broussard is an excellent listener and problem solver. She always gives quizzes for extra credits. Although she is strict with instructions and deadlines, she can be flexible as well.
She is always clear and easy to understand. She guides students through all assignments and how they can complete their tasks to get good grades.
Nicest teacher I've had at HCC.
A very easy going professor who genuinely care about the principles and her students corresponding with them
Professor Broussard is an good listener and cool. She gives works for extra credits.
She really went above and beyond by caring about that if you have a family emergency or something pops up, she'll give you an extension. She is very understanding and patient. Many students repeated the same questions even though she had answered them but she still responded kindly with a smile on her face. She also explains things very well.
She is a wonderful teacher. She is not a hard grader as long as you follow her instructions. She doesn't mind explaining things in depth for you to understand. She shows how much she cares for our success. We had very little readings that followed with quizzes. As well as 5 papers for the whole semester. I definitely recommend her class!

I had a fantastic experience with Professor BROUSSARD. Her passion for literature and engaging teaching style made the English class both enjoyable and educational. Her feedback on assignments was always constructive. I highly recommend Professor Broussard for anyone looking to enhance their understanding and appreciation of English literature.
She is very kind and respectful. She always brings great energy to the class. She does her best to explain and help every student to succeed in class and shes not a hard grader. All you have to do is participate in class, learn, and do your work on time! If I could take her again for any class, I would!
Please do not take this professor all these 5 star reviews are all lies she gave her students extra credit for them. I do not wish my worst enemy this professor. She is not understanding and very egotistic. No need to keep reading all the rest fake reviews just be glad you saw this real and raw one.
please believe me when I say this teacher must have changed from these good reviews. She was a decent person but never stayed true to her word which makes a hard teacher. Not to mention her grading was rigged to fail. That is because she is not specific or teaches what she grades on. I was beyond mad at her methods and do not recommend. Seriously.
WORST PROFESSOR EVER I WOULD RECOMMEND SWALLOWING A PAIR OF JEANS BEFORE I WOULD RECOMMEND TAKING THIS PROFESSOR ITS IMPOSSIBLE TO HAVE A GOOD GRADE IN THIS CLASS NOTHING ABOVE A 70
Ms.Broussard was a tough professor because I work full time and took her for the winter mini-classes so essays are extra long but overall she gives great feedback and a lot of Extra Credit.
She is very kind and respectful. She always help me to clear my doubts , she is not a hard grader .She gave extra credit opportunities.
I took Professor Broussard for a four week mini class and she has clear criteria for all her assignments. There are two - 2300 word argumentative essays, 2 peer reviews and 4 quizzes. I am not an English person or writer by any means, but she gives knowledgeable feedback and clearly cares about her students succeeding!
Ms. Broussard is a good and helpful professor. She responds to email on time, gives honest feedbacks and have lots of extra credit.
Professor Broussard does a good job throughout the course, she gives us all feedback for tests/quizzes , she also replies in a timely manner throughout the day, which I appreciate mostly from her . Her class seems hard at first but as soon as you put in the legwork and actually READ and EMPHASIS ON READ the instructions/material its pretty easy.
Good instructions and responds quickly. Constant announcements to update people and answer questions which is helpful. Assignments, essays, and quizzes are difficult and harshly graded, but she gives extra credit throughout the course.
I your thinking about taking this class. Two argumentative essays with a word count of 2,300 words she will choose the story but you can choose the topic for the story she assigns you, a couple quizzes about short stories that u have to read carefully multiple choice also a free response in the quiz, and peer review. There will be extra credit.
This class was a bit challenging for me personally. I usually enjoy writting but not alot. Essays have to be minimum 2,300 words. The quizzes provided were pretty easy. And extra credit assignments are provided so yay to that.
Professor is a tough grader (English isn't my best subject) but found that i wasn't the only one having difficulty. Extra credit is given but quizzes are extremely hard and essays require 2,300 words. Took this class during my winter mini session almost dropped because of difficulty. Most comments are fake professor gives extra credit to rate.
I took Professor Broussard for a 4-week mini-term class. The pace was fast but manageable. She's tough but fair in grading, responds promptly to questions, and offers constructive feedback. Extra credit opportunities are available.
Professor Broussard, Is a good professor. However, she'd be better if we had examples of our 2,300-word essays and if she wasn't a tough grader. She always responds very fast during the weekday and tries her best to guide you. If you love writing and your major is English, or have great grammar and good writing skills this is the class for you.
I took Professor Broussard for a 4-week class, which was quite intensive due to the shorter semester. We had to complete 2 argumentative essays and four quizzes. Professor Broussard offered valuable feedback on the assignments, helping to improve both writing and analytical skills. She demonstrates understanding when students face difficulties.
Take her, she's caring professor..
I have had a lot of instructors, and the majority of them have been excellent. I really enjoyed her company. I believe that she acted quite patiently, and I was easily irritated at the moment. She helped me learn how to control my anger, which improved my understanding of the situation. That's the reason I believe she was an excellent teacher.
I took Professor Broussard for a 4-week class, which was quite intensive due to the shorter semester. We had to complete 2 argumentative essays and four quizzes. Professor Broussard offered valuable feedback on the assignments, take her to get English 2 over with. No AI reports . Jokes are a little dry coming from a hard grader.
Teacher is very strict she doesn't accept late work! she do not give no extra credit! lecture is a lot of reading to many papers essays have to be 2300 words and she's a tough grader and honestly I don't recommend !
She is EXTREMLY unorganized. My course in canvas looks like a maze. The instructions of Essays so general that I am so confused what kind of essays should I write. Quizzes - so hard. Took Regular-16 weeks, in syllabus said 5 essays but in syllabus quiz question only showed 3 essays.
Nothing about this professor is good. The professor is incompetent regarding online classes and mixes them up. For the first week, due dates and essays were changed all over the place. She does not respond to e-mails, and even rejects late work that is caused by her own mistakes.
Overall, the class is fairly simple just stay on top of your work. You'll have multiple essays which can be easy if you stick to the rubric, she's willing to work with you as long as you're putting in the effort. Im still in the class as of right now and even though I might not have the best grade (I have an 80) its because of my own mistakes.
The professor explained everything in clear terms. She also responded to every inquiry.
Ovarall, she very good at what she's teaching. Writing essay is my weakness but so far she's giving me good grades and good feedback how to be better my writing.
Good Professor gives a lot of extra credit and makeup. The reading quizzes are tricky just read the assigned readings.
Great communicator. She gives clear instructions, and feedback. Course is easy to navigate.
she is a good professor and very helpful. i am glad that i took her class
Professor Broussard is clear in her grading and in my opinion doesn't give a lot of work. You have 4 essays over lessons given in the modules and one final argumentative essay. You take exams and quizzes over short stories found online, if you learn to analyze and critically read it should be really easy. Overall, good teacher and easy course.
She is very thorough and very understanding
Gives clear due dates and instructions for course readings and assignments. Responds to messages within a reasonable time frame. Great professor overall!
Good professor. All the instructions are very clear and in detail.
she is a great teacher. I recommend you guys to take her.
She is essay heavy and gives good feedback. She also gives some extra credit.
she is super nice in everything, I would like to take classes with her again
Professor Broussard was easy to reach and had clear expectations from her students.
She is a nice lady but will not give you any handouts. Be prepared to learn how to write and read. Be very detailed because that is what she focuses on most. Simply put, do not let the work pile up because it will make the course 10x harder.
A creative writing class is supposed to be collaborative but this was a disappointment and waste of time & tuition. Prof. did nothing to foster an online community. Online platform was disorganized, papers graded late with minimal feedback, quizzes were designed to teach content, not assess content. Maybe she does better with in person classes?
Really enjoyed her class! Organized, easy to understand. She was communicative the entire semester.
If you don't function well in online anytime classes... the class would not be for you. But if it is... then definitely take the class you're in good hands.
This professor is great learned many new items about poetry during the semester I took her class. Actually subject taking ENGL 2307(not listed)
Helpful, straight forward, and open to communication! Fantastic professor overall! Plan for a lot of writing though; one of the assignments was a 5000 word essay. Not a difficult one, just lengthy.
Great professor! I took her for an online, anytime class. She does not assign a lot of work. Definitely recommend!
This class will teach you how to write, not just yap on a paper. If you yap you will fail on essays, so prepare accordingly and use the resources she gives you.
Just do the work
Very forgiving professor and thoughtful in her work. Seems obvious that the Online class is more of a back burner task for her, which is the reason for middle rating. You will also need to read between the lines a lot on quizzes and exams.
The course consists of 4 quizzes and 3 essays. She is very kind but a tough grader.
Professor Broussard is exceptional at making complex topics clear and engaging. Their adaptable teaching style caters to diverse learners, fostering an inclusive environment. With infectious passion, they leave a lasting impact on students' growth.
I honestly don't have any complaints about this teacher. It was a regular english class not hard at all. Essays were easy and the grading was fair.
I was nervous about taking her class, but it turned out to be fantastic. Her online lectures and materials made everything easy to understand. What I appreciated most was her willingness to help. She's incredibly supportive, always making time to assist with assignments and clarify concepts. She's an amazing professor, and I highly recommend her.
I took this course online so I cannot speak to the kind of person this professor is. I can say that her directions are sometimes confusing. But her work is not very strict. There is a lot of time for every assignment.
Professor Camisha Broussard is very knowledgeable and helpful when it comes to assignments and understanding a task she was there to help. I would rate her 5/5. I took online class with her and it was pretty easy to understand. If I had any questions, she was there to answer those. Assignments were easy to understand and course load was manageable.
Professor Broussard is a very open and understanding person. I took her ENGL 2322 class during the summer and had to complete one group project, two essays, and four quizzes. Her group project is quite straightforward; the quizzes can be quite tough; and for the essays, you pick your own topic. Overall, she is very nice and offers extra credit.
Taking Eng 2322 (
This is for ENGL 2322. Very confusing and contradictory instructions and not helpful over email. The coursework itself is not hard, but the confusing instructions and course format makes everything unnecessarily difficult.
I took the summer 5 week class. Quiz or essay due every week. Quiz was based on out of class reading, each essay had a peer review. Follow the rubric exactly and ask questions if confused- she sticks to it. There were 3 easy extra credit options available, and extra credit goes where it will be most needed. Textbook used for student reference only.
I took the summer 5 week class. Quiz or essay due every week. Quiz was based on out of class reading, each essay had a peer review. The essay instructions are kinda confusing but not hard
Overall a really great professor, spaces out assignments well enough for students to get the assignments in on time. Provides good feedback, and constructive criticism, she's super easy to talk to, and is accessible outside of the classroom.
Communicative, kind of hard to get in touch with, but good instructor overall.
Elementary class, she's very sweet and grades well. I took her online class and everything was in the modules. You do have to read every week since there are tests about the readings, three essays, and a few other assignments. I took her summer class so it might be different if you take a fall/spring semester class.
The professor's teaching style is engaging and thorough, making even the most complex material accessible and interesting. Depending on her class, there's extensive reading, which is important to know--especially when working with a busy schedule, sometimes it's hard to take care of things on time.
Lots of work
Available outside of school hours but a very tough grader. Lots of reading and modules are a little difficult to navigate.
I loved her class and the environment she had, it was an amazing class and would 100% take again.
This teacher is great and very engaging. You can tell she cares about her students. She makes videos for her online class which are very helpful. Extra credit opportunities! Great Class
Professor Broussard is very helpful and she gives great feedback on every assignment. Her videos on the modules help students understand the topics we are learning.
Great profesor
The class was online so there was not much interaction with her except during group projects
I just need credit
Took this class over the summer. I'm very glad I did. She takes late work and has reasonable due dates. 1 group assignment, 2 essays, and exams that are very simple. If you do the reading and your work you'll pass.
I decided to take this class during the summer and was gladly surprised when the coursework wasn't as heavy as I expected. Assignments still need time and focus, but you'll be right if you dedicate time to chip away at essays and readings. Don't be afraid to ask questions! The classroom environment was nice, everyone was very sweet and helpful.
Very nice and understanding woman.
grade depends on some papers and quizzes. the quizzes are really hard but the workload isn't too difficult
I am currently taking ENGL 2328 online and I would not recommend her as your professor for this class. The things I'm given to read for the class is not correlating with what is given on the quizzes.
During the course, students were only able to see the overall grades they received and were not able to see the grade books. I rely heavily on the grade book to track my assignments, so this inconvenience was especially inconvenient for me. Otherwise, the teacher was quite responsive through her HCC email.
This professor is the best one I ever took in my English classes, she cares a lot for her students. She is here not fail you, but to help you go on. She gives extra credit which I love. As well this class is very easy to manage, but you must be just responsible for to complete assignments at your own.
She is considerate of the students and aims for everyone to pass. She required group work which consisted of a project, paper, and discussion. Her course was easy to navigate, and her chosen works of literature that you will study are entertaining and interesting!
She is so amazing, caring, and kind. Please just make sure you discuss you problems to her on time, be clear, and straightforward. She is so wonderful that she explains all information students(us) are meant to know, she inspires me a lot via the way she speaks so openly and I suggest you should take her class, you will surely love it. Trust me.
Professor Broussard is nice and caring. Just make sure you complete your assignments on time. She also has a lot of extra credit, which can help you to improve your grade.
She's chill just do her work.
She's chill just do your work on time.
Make sure you feel free to communicate and she will understand and try to solve your problem.
She gives extra credits and make up chances during the entire semester. Focus and put effort on your works are necessary so you can easily pass the class.
It's an easygoing class however it may be difficult to gather instructions for the assignments given and responses.
Difficult to reach out to every time.
She wasnt really present but I took an online course. Very easy just turn work in ontime. I used chat gpt throughout the entire course and she didn't know. If you get a bad grade take ts to the chin cuz it was your fault gang.
She takes forever to grade and despite her excellence in giving feedback, She's the reason everyone in my class is failing.
I just finished this summer term with Professor Camisha Broussard here at Houston Community College. While I liked the course content and her expertise, there were some aspects that needed improvement. First of all, it would be great to get clearer explanations and understanding we not there to understand what she need from us
She's alright.
Her professional abilities are not very successful, the online course is not going very well for many students, giving bad grades without any reason at all, it was very difficult to communicate to her.
I took this class in High School my senior year, however, the teacher didn't teach us. My classmates and I had to figure stuff out ourselves which was hard as the teacher wasn't physically there and sometimes Professor Broussard didn't respond to some of our inbox messages. She was a hard grader which caused my classmates and I to stress out a lot.
She takes a long time before giving feedback and is a tough grader. It is a struggle to do the essays when we don't know what we're supposed to write about.
She does not answer emails in a timely manner. There were assignments that did not have the directions on them. She failed most of my classmates.
She did not teach us since we were online and in high school. The grading was horrible and you don't really get replies to any inbox messages. My classmates and I didn't really have clear instructions and when we inboxed, we didn't really get replies. We had to do work by ourselves and she took forever to grade and get organized. I don't recommend.
She is a supportive and approachable instructor who provides helpful feedback to improve your writing. The course is well-organized, and assignments are challenging but rewarding. While the pace can be fast at times, she is always available to offer guidance. Highly recommend this class for anyone looking to improve their writing skills.
The professor is quite chill, her classes are not heavy, and the quizzes are easy as well. This class requires you to write 3 essays. everything is doable. She also gives many extra credit opportunities. The class was fun but her instructions are unclear sometimes which can cause confusion but she is always ready to help you out. Was a great class.
Prof. Camisha is a kind and supportive teacher. She's not too strict and respects her students. I really appreciate the extra credit opportunities she gives, especially for being on time, which help a lot. Her feedback is helpful and encourages me to improve.
She is an OK professor, maybe if I hadn't had taken her class online, I probably would've liked her.
She cool just come in and talk to her if you need help. There's many opportunity of extra credit.
She's a cool teacher. Just be ready to write the best you can; she is respectable with her feedback.
Great Professor, lectures can seem long and tedious but lots of amazing feedback and information. She can seem tough but she has only tired too continue to push me in my writing. I would definitely take her class again she has a very funny sense of humor and tries to connect with us to see what she can do to improve in her own teaching.
This was a good class. It was an in-person class every Friday, and the quizzes were a bit difficult as the answers were vague; that would be my only complaint.
She is a great professor! She gives good feedback and grades hard. She also gives opportunities for extra credit.
She's a good teacher just talk to her and do assignments on time.
She is a great professor! Her lectures are great to listen to and she grades hard. She also gives you opportunities for extra credit.
Had her for English 1301 my first semester. She's chill and connects easily with students. She's helpful with assignments, approachable, and cares about what we have to say. There are only 3 essays, and she gives plenty of time to finish your work. It's only hard if you make it hard. A lot of ppl say she confusing but all u have to do is ask
If you follow instructions, turn in your assignments on time, and enjoy reading, you will do well in this class. However, her tests are often harder than they look, so to get a good grade on her tests you need to be very critical with your readings. Overall, she is a great teacher, I highly recommend her.
overall this class was not too bad, just make sure to read assigned reading and mainly, complete assignments. she's really nice and approachable with any questions you may have and cares about student's opinions as well
She is very helpful, if you have any questions, just ask, she offers much help. Also, very caring if you have any learning disabilities like ADHD, AUTISM, and ANXIETY. (Ect. Mental illness).
She is very helpful, if you have any questions, just ask, she offers much help. Also, very caring if you have any learning disabilities like ADHD, AUTISM, and ANXIETY. (Ect. Mental illness). Great teacher all a round
The ENGL 1301 course was a very positive experience. The teacher's approach to learning is really interesting, there are a lot of group assignments. In particular, I like the opportunity to receive extra points, which plays a very important role for the student, acting as a kind of support.
Keeping up with deadlines is very important in this class. There is a good amount of reading that needs to be done, but the stories are interesting. The instruction can also be a little confusing at times, but you can reach out for clarification. The professor offers extra credit and provides feedback on most written assignments.
tough grader, good personality
Professor Broussard always made sure that her students understood the material she was teaching. After her lectures she would ask us if we had any questions we could always speak with her. She would always support her students and I think that's something very admirable for a college professor to interact with her students.
Great professor
This Professor gives you many extra credit opportunities if you are failing the course or jus want a overall higher grade, would recommend you take this class
don't be shy to ask questions or go up to her for anything!!!
Professor Broussard is well respected , she always made sure we were aware of upcoming assignments and when they were due. Whenever we had a question about an assignment she would stay a bit longer after class to help those students . This made me feel heard which is why I think professor Broussard is very admirable.
Course set up is highly disorganized, assignments/instructions aren't often clear and can be confusing. We were expected to do group assignments where she gave no instruction on who our groups consisted of or how to complete the assignment. She hardly responds to inboxes. Overall , highly stressful course and would not recommend.
lots of course reading and papers, but over all really nice and good teacher
Didn't like the class. Very confusing and for some reason puts is in groups the whole semester which is very frustrating. Not friendly either.
A hard grader!
she does a lot of collaborations assignments
Professor Broussard helped me learn write coherently. She taught me how to organize my thoughts. Collaborative work turned out to be a good experience. This is a good teacher.
Professor was very nice, but a tough grader. There's a lot of group assignments, which can be hard to complete/navigate through.
Professor is really vague with her prompts but is a strict grader even without a specific rubric. There's 2 major quizzes and 3 total essays (1 group). Doesn't really teach much, but honestly just follow the deadlines and try to keep your work grammatically correct.
Basic🫤 experience would not do it again, it felt like I did not learn anything .
Assignments are few in number but can be lengthy. Takes late assignments with penalty. Reading books is required to complete assignments.
Assignments are few but lengthy. Takes late assignments with late penalty. Reading books is required to complete assignments. Overall shes kind and understanding but the work can get overwhelming.
She is kinda tough grader but She is cool, and She understands every situation of student's daily life that if you want to leave She'll never say No! She says, you're good I know you and She is fun loving and love her students.
She's nice.
Professor Broussard is a thoughtful and supportive instructor. She truly cares about his students' success and takes the time to explain concepts , and she encourages students to think critically and improve their writing. , and She's always open to questions or concerns. If you're willing to put in the effort, you'll learn a lot from his class.
Great professor I definitely learned a lot from her, with no doubt I'll retake her class. There is no way of falling her class the class is overall easy and a lot of extra credit is offered.
She is an excellent teacher, funny and respectful. Her class is not difficult since even at the end of the semester she gives us assignment for extra credit. 100% recommend to take this class.
I really enjoyed taking this class. One of the best things about this professor is that she offered a lot of extra credit opportunities, which really helped students boost their grades and stay motivated. She was fair in grading. I would definitely recommend her to other students, especially if you're willing to put in the effort.
Truly a great teacher, she made me like writing. And she was so funny which her class so enjoyable, I always looked forward to her classes. She has something most professers don't, which is relatability. She's so relatable and genuinely wants you to ace her class, I would gladly take one of her classes again without a thought. A great professor
She's a cool person. She's a very quiet talker. It's hard to hear her when she speaks, especially if you have auditory processing disorder like I do. Her instructions aren't always clear, and her assignments tend to have lots of instructional errors in them. She doesn't respond to emails very frequently, either.
This class is not for the weak; you will need to think critically for your essays and quizzes that are based on a reading list you make as a class.
I enjoyed the energy in class, but the exams were difficult. The final project is a group essay with seven other students, which was a challenging experience working with so many people for an important project. Otherwise, Professor Broussard is very kind and caring. I actually gained confidence in myself and my writing throughout this course.
Professor Broussard is one of the best English 1302 teachers!! She is really easy to get along with and the essays are not that hard at all. She is an amazing grader and gives extra credit.:) Most of the work is group work which is perfect if you like group work!! She doesn't have many quizzes and they are really easy.
Amazing teacher!! She is a really easy grader and loves to get along with her students. Her essays are not hard not her quizzes.
Want to learn about English composition or simply write a few things?- this might not be the class for you. Want little instruction for assignments, constant group work, poorly made quizzes that the whole class fails, trivial lectures, last-minute extra credit, and have to write over 5,000 words?- this is the class for you.
She was a good teacher, my only issues were the quizzes, since the questions about how X section of the novel made you feel could not be less intuitive and up for interpretation, most answer choices were synonyms of each other and since it is an online class I could not just ask myself what would the teacher interpret because I do not know her.
Professor Broussard is very professional, easy to work with, respectful and funny lol, The way she teaches is giving students ability to be independent, responsible, and accountable for their work. She is not going to babysit you, nor bias, she will teach you how to work independently and give you the knowledge and resources you need to write well.
A very easy teacher. Just prepare yourself to read a lot of material, you're going to have to write at least 2 essays, and work in a group. With all of that being said you should be fine. She also gives you the opportunity to bring your grade up with extra credit.
This class has a lot of challenging readings, but the professor provides everything you need. The group paper wasy the hardest part, especially since I'd never done one before. As someone who needs more time with writing, it was tough to finish so many essays in just two weeks especially while taking another writing-heavy class.
The professor is very confusing. I absolutley hated the collaborative paper. It is hard to kep up with. She makes things a challenge and that is weird in my opinion.
Got in with no idea on what the course would entail. At the beginning the syllables seemed quite difficult and I was totally unfamiliar everything in the course but her lectures and attentiveness to every students' need was really helpful in me improving. Started with no knowledge but leaving with a whole lot of information about the course.
She is very patient and clear doubt some student may have.
Their teaching style is engaging, well-organized, and interactive activities that encourage students to think critically about literary texts and composition strategies. Her work is confusing at the beginning, but as you get deeper, you start to catch on. Do your work early so that if you need help, you have time to stay ahead.
Just don't take her! She literally said she don't want her students to pass in class. Her canvas is messed up it takes an hour to know what her assignment actually is. She is not satisfied with anything. TRUST ME DON'T DROP YOUR GRADES BY TAKING HER.She will not even help you with assignment topic.
She is cool I love her
She engages her students in class through group works and extra credit opportunities, my issue was the slow feedbacks on assignments and delayed grading, essays were ok, not easily accessible outside classes. Overall, she is a nice and efficient professor.
This class is challenging with two 2,500-word essays, one group and one individual, plus a 1,000-word reflection. The professor guides students clearly, so listening carefully is important. Class time is not heavy, but following instructions is the key to completing the assignments successfully.
Shes good and understanding , a couple of tough essays , but alot of extra credit to satisfy ur grade.
She is excellent teacher that cares about her students. Her class is very interesting and easy to understand.
Shes a good professor, and she actually explains all the assignments.
I like her teaching style. However, there are 3 essays to write throughout the semester, but she offers extra credits for students.
she's the best
I love her teaching
She is the best teacher I love her .she is deep cary 🤩 and undertsating.
I think it's a decent class a bit hard and confusing there's time where it is hard to understand certain assignments
Well Professor Was always there for help , Her teaching style was easy to catch, The thing which impacted my grade would be the class being hybrid its not professor's mistake , cz she always cleared things when you reach out to her .
Professor was a great one, easy to reach to, no burden of excessive assignments, The only reason my grade was impacted was bcz of the class being hybrid. Her grading is also so good , she grades generously. Thankyou professor Regards Muhammad Raza
The professor explained the material clearly and taught in an organized, effective way. Even in the hybrid format, their teaching style made the course easy to follow and understand.
Is a nice teacher and friendly if I fail this is on me but if I have to take this class with the semester teacher I do it again.
Great professor. Very fair, communicates well, gives good feedback and doesn't waste your time. Assignments are clear, and she gives us freedom to choose topics. One of the easiest and most enjoyable English classes I've taken.
Me personally she was clear and understanding and the essays was not always easy, but she was pretty decent
I like this class, it was really fun. Get really to read lectures and articles, also to investigate. There were 3 essays with 4000 words total. The Quizzes are easy if you read the stories provided by the professor.
I enjoyed this class, it was not easy but be ready because you have to read alot, there were 3 essays 4000 words total, the professor is nice and explains everything clear.
