He cannot teach and is confusing. He does not explain how to do calculations well and often rushes at the end of the class (which can be bad when going through calculations). He just reads off of power points without giving any relevant info towards exams and expects us to read the textbook in order to understand what he cannot explain. Avoid him.
He is not clear on what his exams will be on and he does not clarify how things are weighted other than the final, midterm and case. On the last day of school which was supposed to be a review class he took out a pop quiz worth 3% of your grade. If you didn't show up you automatically lost three points going into the final. Avoid at all costs !!!
Camron is a nice guy, but is extremely confusing when it comes to explaining basically anything. He reads off his useless powerpoints during class and expects you to learn the powerpoint material for "attendance quizzes". Probably 80% of the material on his powerpoints is not on the midterm or final. You have to read the textbook to learn anything.
After the midterm, I stopped going to class because Camron is often confusing and just overall isn't a good teacher. You are better off reading the textbook and not listening to him. He gives quizzes worth 2% every thursday, but he can give POP quizzes any other day so beware. He also does not go through quizzes in class and is often off-track too
He is too young for teaching (his teaching style is reading PPT from the publisher). He doesn't have any real experience. As a result, he was always far away from the textbook material. Run, save your money and time.
I found Camron was a pretty good instructor, yeah he's a little young but he does know how to explain things and gives very very good examples (majority real life). He does read a lot which does help. Fairly easy at grading. He tries to find a way to make class enjoyable and not just plain boring. I would totally take his class again.
I like his powerpoint
Camron is not good at explaining calculations. I don't recommend taking his class.
He really gets us as students engaged in class and is very personable, I felt very encouraged and comfortable to speak up and get involved in class discussions and to ask questions. He made finance interesting and was overall an enjoyable class!
I WANT to give this instructor a high rating, because he's engaging and likeable. I do think he cares about his students-I just think he rushes WAY too much. Sped through difficult concepts super fast. Not very good at explaining (I think he could be, but again, rushes). You HAVE to read the textbook on your own time or you won't learn.
Camron is a moody guy; one day he is super nice then the next day super unapproachable.
This guy is an amazing teacher. His feedback and love for his students is super motivating.
NAIT probably in a desperate situation with finance instructors and Campron proves it. He doesn't explain concepts, calculations; he reads off PPT. Tis is course a self-study course. Don't take him.
Yes, you have to read your textbook. It's college. What he lacks in some explanatory skills he makes up for by providing exercise worksheets (SPEAK UP IF YOU'RE HAVING TROUBLE. He WILL create exercises to help you learn). He is kind & cares about your success. Favourite instructor so far. Appreciate that he's not just there for the $.
Had him for my econ class. Loved every second of it. Knows what he is talking about . Very outgoing and funny, makes every lecture interesting. Wish I had him for my fnce class. Would definitely recommend having him as your instructor. Thanks Cam for making summer classes bearable :)
He's funny and charming. sorts of skim through but if you read your powerpoint prior to class, it all makes sense. he gives weekly quizzes which is easy to get good marks, just review your notes. i had to revise and learn through youtube but it wasn't bad at all. study the powerpoint and all topics, the midterm and final are a breeze. loved him
He's actually a good teacher, people are hating on him because they're dumb af and can't comprehend basic stuff.
My favorite proff so far. Good sense of humor, approachable... Just an all-round awesome guy. I'd definitely take more classes with him. Only problem is, he can get a little impatient at times... other than that, he's great! I think this should go without saying, but going to class will help... (easy attendance marks) plus lots of "life lessons"
Camron isnt very on the explanation of problems and calculations. He is up to down, seems like he is not very confident teacher. He doesnt provide any tips/packages for the midterm/final exams.
Camron tries his best and though that might be mediocre he is still able to beat knowledge through my skull and isn't that the whole point of school?
Likes to talk, will try to give lots of help on the Calculations that you have to do, even if sometimes they are still confusing. Overall not too bad.
Honestly Camron's a decent instructor. He tells you what he expects you to know on exams (the term tests were open book). If you have questions he's more than willing to answer them and help you! It's almost impossible to do poorly in this class. If you attend class and read the textbook, you're golden!
Good notes and in class examples, tries to keep class fresh. Activities in class for marks help understand how to apply course content in real life. One of the best instructors I've had at NAIT.
He's a good prof. As long as you show up to class and pay attention, you'll be fine. He's good at explaining and doesn't read off the powerpoint often. Very willing to help if you have a question. All in all, he's a good professor and knows what he's doing
Cam possesses extensive knowledge of the material. This can lead to him glossing over concepts that trip up or otherwise confuse students but don't be afraid to ask him to clarify. Most importantly, Cam tries to teach in an interactive manner, so get involved and answer questions your grade will thank you.
He is trying the best, but the problem that due to his young age he doesn't have any real experience and still learning at students' expense. Overall, he is a good person, but for teaching it's not enough...
Very nice guy, however just seems like because he understands the material he glosses over major parts that are hard to learn. I highly recommend reading the textbook, and powerpoints.
Awful
Class lectures are just him reading off slides. 3 tests and a final, the three tests are online. Make sure u have a friend in the class that tells you when theres group work other than that no need to show up really
Yo, Learn the simulation and give a tour in class on the big screen. Chill.. self depreciating humor is good.
This guy has got to be one of the most unorganized instructors I've come across here. He likes to bring a superiority complex to class while bragging about his "business ventures". When attendance dropped in the first few weeks, he said that all grading will be based on participation. Avoid class at all costs.
Ive had Cam for three classes so far and I think hes a great instructor. Hes there when you have any questions and doesnt mind going the extra mile to help students understand concepts. I would enroll in another class of his
Awesome instructor and really do care about his students. Very approachable and encourages students to read the books. I like how he puts up the grades immediately on moodle after exams and quizzes. Gives quizzes that would help students pull up their grades and handouts that really helps as reviewers. I would definitely take his class again.
No consistency on his own class plan. Discrimination on grading
The class was easy, he was pretty easy grading courses also but you could tell he had never taught the course before, he was not clear in expectations or what the assignments would be or how they would be weighted. He was clearly making the class up as he went but overall not a bad instructor and was fair.
Camron's a nice and chill prof. Had a hard time though with grasping the content and doing calculations. He expects you to have read the chapter(s) before next class so make sure have the textbook or e-text. He also does quite a few class/group discussions which can be fun and helpful sometimes.
Enjoyed his class, he made lectures as enjoyable as possible.
LOL!!! Okay so he's probably one of the best profs but some might disagree. He's very chill and my class was fun so that probably made my previous term lit. Anyways, Camron is amazing.
Great classes. Have to read before class. very interactive classes.
He doesn't put much effort into teaching. He has prerecorded lectures, but they are sloppy and won't help much. He makes a lot of mistakes during lectures and can be hard to follow. If you have him as a prof, I suggest skipping the lectures and studying on your own.
Take him if you want to have fun during lectures but study on your own. Midterm and tests had nothing to do with what he was teaching us. He does not provide any review packages or examples to practice before tests. I feel like he is a teacher for year 3-4, but not for year 1. He expects you to know stuff before you come to class. 3/5 is his rating
I like him as a person, but not as a teacher. If you are considering your future job in finance, take this class with someone else. He shows you calculations but the day before the test you cannot find any practice quizzes. He relies on the powerpoints only. This class is content-heavy so get ready to read and write down everything.
Camron is the best professor I have had at NAIT. He is super engaging and offers tons of opportunities for bonus marks. He is a very fair marker and provides endless opportunities for students to ask questions. Camron is an all-around great guy! Reading the textbook will help in achieving a stronger understanding, but his lectures are comprehensive
He starts and ends every class with music, and maintains a chill learning environment with a certain level of professionalism. He really cares about the students and wants all of us to succeed. There are a good amount of quizzes, but it's nothing too strenuous.
He spends at least 50% of class off topic and talking about random things. Leaving the rest of his lectures rushed. I do not enjoy coming to this class, he has said many times (the day before the test) that we should read the textbook since he hasn't taught everything. He also makes offside comments, a very uncomfortable atmosphere.
If you attend the classes, participate. If you don't participate, he will find you. All in all, very funny casual class. He cares about the readings he gives you and often finds deeper insights for class discussion. He's fine with and even encourages respectful disagreements on or off topic. He's one of my top 3 favorite instructors at NAIT.
I would have to go over his class record to find out want he was trying to teach us. He uses a lot of excel and expects you to know what he is doing. I did mind the games, but when he gave extra points for the top three, I didn't thank it was very professional. What about the students having a hard time understanding. Don't answer questions.
Cameron is very good professor, and the only thing I have bad to say about him is that sometimes he's too fast. But the good thing about an online class is that you can just go back and listen again through the recording. His classes are fun and keep you engaged, whether that's through picking a song or doing a kahoot for extra credit. Thumbs Up
Took the class completely online. The lectures were short but easy to understand. The midterm was very easy and the final was pretty easy. The mobius quizzes were not too bad but definitely know how to do the concepts. Not a ton of communication with students but overall it was not bad.
I had Camron for CMIS3351, it was his second time teaching the course. Expectations were incredibly unclear. He was unorganized, his moodle site had things from years ago available to see so you never knew what assignment or drop box to use and he never updated due dates. The tableau exam was incredibly confusing and unfair for a 2 hour timed exam.
Camron is one of the best instructors I have had in years. His lectures are straightforward, he has much variety in his teaching methods, and he is very supportive of his students. You have to work hard to pass however, you will learn to be a master of the course at the end of the term. He is truly the best at what he does.
Showing up to class is mandatory, even then, what he explains isn't on any quizzes. The quizzes are extremely difficult and confusing and when asked about clarification, says "he'll get back to you" and never does. Lectures are fast, and thoughtful but don't prepare you for anything. Could be just the class, but I would get taught by someone else.
Avoid him if you don't want to fail! Quizzes and exams are just answers, no partial credits for solutions, no multiple choice. Just 5% deviation from answer. Doesn't re-record his presentations when he makes a mistake. Will let you follow till he realizes his mistake. Doesn't justify answers well. Responds late.
He has lot of quizzes for the class and use a lock down browser for them. Who uses lockdown browser for the quizzes man. In exams there are no multiple choice questions just Numericals. If you have a chance to go with other instructor please go for it. Don't take him!
Camron was fantastic, I took this as a condensed course and I did find the workload to ba heavy but he did a great job of giving the information and it was a lot of material to cover, which he did well. I did need to reach out to him over some issues with the auto-grading system but he was quick to resolve it and provided great feedback.
Terrible Teacher. He does not even know most of the material himself but expects his students to. Teaches too fast. Students are constantly having to correct him which just makes it so much harder for people trying to learn. Because the teacher should know how to teach the subject. Most of the class is failing. He needs to stick to real-estate
AVOID HIM! Very lazy in responding to questions. He doesn't explain when asked. He expects you to know everything. No partial points during exam. Don't be surprised if you fail. Students fail his subject, doesn't care about them. NAIT doesn't send out surveys about him because they know he will fail the ratings. NAIT can't get good teachers.
The most lazy instructor I have ever experienced. Comes to class like he just rolled out of bed. Lots of errors in his teachings. blames dyslexia. Makes it incredibly confusing for students who are trying to learn. Plays terrible music. Requires you to pay money to take your exams and quizzes. Most of my classmates also struggled. AVOID HIM!
Do not ever mistake to take this instructor. Sarcastic person ever i met in my life. He never replies to your emails and when he reply he just said " I am on the vacations".
Camron was awesome in DATA2210. Extremely helpful, answered all questions in detail. He's kind and funny. Can't go wrong with Camron.
Camron grew on me throughout the semester. His examples in Tableau move fast. If you put effort into learning Tableau and ask him for advice, he is very available for help. We had 5 group projects throughout the semester. Each had new group members and you could only choose for the final project. The data analytic exams were open book.
His pre-recorded lectures are sloppy and have tons of errors. Not sure why he doesn't re-record/edit out his mistakes. He also overcomplicates things but somehow doesn't explain simple concepts very well. If you want an instructor who is clear and gives you what you need to succeed then I would not suggest him. Also not helpful when you reach out
Camron understands the course material and makes the class engaging with relevant real-world examples and collaborative activities. That being said, you may have to put in extra work to understand the course material if you miss points in class. If I were to retake economics, I'd have him again.
Beware of taking this course, it is very easy doing the homework assignments but when it comes to the test, they are exaggeratedly complex and wordy. His lectures can be long. Entire course is just running equations and formulas, so don't go using shortcuts with your BA2 Plus, you will not pass.
I enjoyed his class, he helped whenever I had questions. But the exams are pretty difficult.
I took the Course under him. But if u want to pass want good marks so it is better not to take his classes. He don't teach properly and don't help students Moreover for exams he want 2 - 3 cameras around us. It is Disgusting.
aweful
Awful. not respected.
Professor very poor.He he has limited knowledge of the subject .The professor is not very helpful to students and rarely offers assistance when we are struggling. He do not provide step-by-step marking in math which makes it hard to pass. I would not recommend this professor if u want to pass. What I feel is his motive is just to make money.
He provided online lectures that other teachers had done that I found more helpful than any lecture he did. He spoke too fast and did not cover topics in depth. He kept things light with the occasional kahoot or group activity which was great. This is definitely a class that you have to pay 100% attention to and/or teach yourself.
This proff is hilarious, when I first started his class on the first day I was scared off him because of strict rules and everything. But he lets you do fun and engaging activities when yiu practice your answer which does increases your focus he gives grade to only one that deserves.
Camron is a terrible instructor. I do not recommend him at all. He does not mark fairly according to the rubric he provides. And marks based on things that are not mentioned on the rubric at all (such as based against your other piers submissions). Do not take Camron if you care about your marks. I did great in every subject except this one.
If you want to pass don't go with Camron. If you don't understand his shortcut methods then you will fall behind and if you don't understand the material too bad he won't stop to try and explain anything. All his exams are short answer and take forever to complete and then he nags at everyone to "be faster" and do questions in 1 mim
A lot of group work, some felt it was graded harshly (4 mini group projects, 1 final group project), but it was fairly weighted. He can seem blunt to some but I thought he was fine. You could tell he was passionate about the material. Gives AMAZING video feedback. Smaller/more frequent group assignments with more focused objectives would be better.
Never ever choose Camron if you want to pass the course. The exams and quizzes are so difficult. Did't even understand his teaching methods. I'll never take this professor again.
In summary, tests/exams every other week. Need to pay for a textbook, makes you pay for an extra camera like money grows on trees. Not good at teaching. If you want to fail, take this guy!
Wouldn't recommend to anyone trying to pass. Lazy at teaching, makes you pay for camera and mandatory textbooks, has multiple mistakes in his lectures, his exams are nothing like what he teaches, and overall not worth the money. Maybe 2/10 teacher?
He teaches "1+1=2" in his lectures, and asks "Find the volume of a black hole if its moving at 37km/h away from the sun diagonally" on his exams. Please stay away from his classes.
Only teacher that doesnt do open book exams, my class average was a 41%. He doesnt care if you pass or fail yet he cares if have a good education and doesnt believe in making things easy so if you struggle he wont help you. if you dont wanna spend another $600 retaking his class dont take him.
terrible teacher, if you wanna fail and waste your money go to him 🤣 doesn't teach properly, gives wrong answers on smart board, comes to class looking like he just woke up, worst teacher i've definitively had so far no doubt about it
you are about to enter a classroom run by a man who looks like he woke up during roll call. Questions will be punished. Confusion will be ignored. Failure will be blamed on you. Breathe. Survive. Proceed. Worst experience in my life and trust every bad review please don't trust them teachers pets!!!
This professor is very hard to learn from. He isn't unkind, but he seems disconnected from students. Lectures are disorganized and too many concepts are covered at once. I had no choice since this was a prerequisite, but I regret taking this course and would not recommend it.
His lectures were difficult to follow and he briefly touched on certain aspects throughout the chapters not fully going into detail. Speaks abut his personal life, tries to explain with too many examples, confusing. If you want to pass this class, all of the work is done by yourself and most of his questions come from the pearson my lab stuff.
