DON'T TAKE HER CLASS!!! unclear on essays, hard to tlk to, bad teacher

if you ant to feel like you are in jr high again take this class, very nice lady but not a good teacher at all!

she easy but not helpful, cant teach all her class work does not prepare you to take exam, she is useless, cant teach. she is a nice lady but just cant teach. dont take her if u want to learn

She makes you feel like you are in middle school. She is horrible. She really thinks she know what she is talking about. She picks on students who forgot their homework or their book that day to make you lood stupid. DON'T TAKE HER CLASS!!!!!

Attendance is crucial, you are only allowed to miss 5 classes but still lose participation points for missing any of those 5 classes. Never seems to give A’s on drafts. Class is very boring but easy A or B as long as you go, participate, and turn your work in on time.

Doesn't really teach anything. A lot of worthless in classs discussion

This class sucks. All she does is give busy work. Your absent if you miss more than 10 min of a class your are marked absent. And she keeps you the whole class time. There to much work assigned and don't even thing about turning it in late,cause in marked down so much you might as well not do it. BORING, BORING, BORING, It is so boring

She is a great person, however she never voices her opinion and is just asking students for theirs. All she does is agree with every single one without giving a write or wrong answer. All her work had to be typed no matter what! So if you are taking her get those typing skills out!

I hate this lady. she is a joke. absolutely do not take this teacher. she is boring and a complete idiot. she asks the class stupid questions and just stands there. no one answers them because they don't make any sense. prof boeck should still be in college. her class is a COMPLETE JOKE AND WASTE OF TIME

Hard Class! She is a stickler, if you miss class you will lose up to 10% of your grade! She wasn't the most enthusiastic teacher or very engaging. I learnt a lot, but it wasn't easy. Take another teacher that can make this class interesting for you!

Her class is extremely boring. Her voice is super annoying. She grades very hard. Worst RWS ever. She assigns readings almost every day and sometimes assigns questions to answer. The only good thing is that the essay are short (3-4 double spaced) but she grades pretty hard.

She takes attendance, big bummer because you really do not need to go to class in order to get the material. Her voice is annoying, she is EXTREMELY BORING. If you can find a better RWS prof. I would reccomend doing so. She is extremely easy until she grades your essays, then she assigns a bad grade and writes no comments.

Her method of teaching is not apropiate for a college class. Prof. Bc can be extremely boring sometimes and always takes attendance, so be there. But the major flaw in the class, is the fact that she doesn't give you any feedback on the essays, you have to figure on your own. Sometimes she can be rude to students. My advice, don't take her.

She has a pt system. Attendance is 10%. 2 Reading responses 5% ea. The rest are 3 essays and the final. Getting an A is difficult (94% >=), but B+ to A- is very doable. The problem is she is very vague and takes points if your interpretation of the readings do not match hers. She is not as bad as people say but class does feel like high school.

She is very Vague. she uses a monotone and class is not that interesting. she is very easy tho and she is there to help. You can easily do good in her class if you can stay up and pay attention.

Worst writing class I have took my whole life. She not helpful so skip asking her questions and just go to the writing center. Class is boring lectures are not planned out she mostly winging it she puts a lot of her grade on participation you don't have to speak in class but you can't have more than five absences. That really affected my grade.

If you to take a upper division RSW class I would recommend her dont wasn't your money on a professor who don't explain her grading. She is nice but not helpful. Assignments are easy so it is possible to pass but class is run like a middle school class with attendance points and group work. Trust me you are not going to learn anything new .

she accused me of plagiarism because me and another student both wrote the title and our names in MLA format... and had the same quote (the one provided in her hand out) she is the most boring professor and to be honest not that smart i did well in her class but did not learn anything of value. Avoid if you can! if not participate allot in class

She is very monotone and hard to listen to. Did 4 papers that were about 3-4 pages each. She offers office hours to help with papers but is kinda unclear about what she wants. She also contradicted herself a few times but overall not a hard class if you turn your work in on time and participate in class. Be that funny kid in class, she likes that.

You do get what you put into this class as other raters have said, but the classes are a waste of time and you do very dull readings. You also always use your book. You only do 3 essays and a final paper, and you can only miss 5 times. You also have some extra credit opportunities. She is neither bad or good, because you don't do much in this clas

She's not a terrible professor, it is a pretty easy class. The thing I didnt like was the mandatory attendance aspect of the class, because it counted as a participation grade 10%, and you only got to miss class 5 times. This granted students to literally say nothing in class and get credit which is dumb. Slow grader and tough grader, don't take

This class is fairly easy (4 essays that are 3-4 pages long and 1 rhetorical precis). If you are looking to improve your writing, do not take this class. Her feedbacks are mostly about how she would personally reword your essay. Her lectures are painstakingly boring and long. Try to participate in class or else there will be awkward silences...

She is a nice person, but very boring. I almost fell asleep multiple times in her class. I didn't learn much, and she is a pretty tough grader.

Extremely boring, her monotone voice was horrible. I accidentally printed out one of the rough drafts of my essay, that had some simple mistakes that I didn't erase and I asked her after class if I can turn in the final draft and she said that I turned in what I turned in. Not sure if it would have a made a huge difference but rude. College I guess

She was not my favorite professor, her lectures were boring and hard to stay focus and the attendance is mandatory. We wrote 4 essays including the final, she makes you buy 3 books when you mostly only use one. I consider her to be somewhat of a hard grader. She is nice, however, she was not helpful when I had questions about the essays.

Boeck wants you to buy 3 books... keys for writers, grounds for writers and another one that I don't remember because we only used it like once. You need grounds for writers to finish her assignments. She grades hard for some reason.

This professor really pushes participation but makes you feel stupid when you do participate because maybe you don't say the right thing or she doesn't understand what you are trying to say. I don't feel comfortable asking questions about our essays or anything else during class or outside of class.

Attend her classes even because you're going to need the extra credit at the end of the year. You don't need the "They say, I say" book at all or the "Keys for writers". Make sure to follow the rubric exactly and don't overlook any details.

She seems like a nice teacher when lecturing but is pretty rude when you talk to her one on one. There are like 4 assignments in the class so you better not screw up on one. There will be a lot of reading you will have to do in order to complete the essays because they are basically the prompt.

Slightly confused as to why I am paying tuition to take a class when the primary editing and source of suggestion comes from other students in the class? Professor Boeck provides minimal feedback throughout the semester. Not a mean, or bad professor, I just expected much, much more from an English teacher at a 4-year.

Sweetest lady but monotone and hard to stay engaged in class. She takes attendance every day so I would suggest going, but if you miss a class you'll be fine. Unlike other RWS professors, she has an in-class final that is a timed essay. You will need all the required reading materials for hw. Essay prompts are the same for all 4 papers, so boring.

Avoid. took her online class , gave no instruction to write the essays. Grades so slowly, the semester is literally over and she still hasn't graded 2 of my essays out of 4. Made us buy two books, one used for HW the other I never even opened, waste of money. She is rude when emailing and is not clear.

This class does what it needs to fulfill the requirement but there is little-zero interaction w/ the Professor. You will not receive any feedback for assignments, so improving is difficult. She is a heavy grader (nobody got 100% on any of the 3-4 page writing assignments), so you will definitely need to go above and beyond for an A in this class.
