Dr Cravaritis is a very good teacher, she is willing to help everybody you just have to ask. the tests are a little hard you have to study hard for this class, but if you study you will pass. Take advantage of the extra credit they're easy
She's amazing. Gives everything you need to know in the notes. Doesn't give pointless info or doesn't overload you. One thing that I didn't like is how we HAVE to study for the quiz and tests. You can't just pull the info out of your butt. She's a great teacher, knows how to have fun, and serious when it comes down to serious stuff. Take her!
Very nice. You have four journals (almost like current events) to expect and a group project (hard if your group does not work). If you dont take it with her, at least take it. The class is very educational, (extreamly educational if you ever plan on having sex in the future). Every sex question you have will get answered ^_^
Fabulous Professor! Easy to pass, and a little effort guarantee’s an A. Ms. Cravaritis very fair and clear on what she expects on every assignment, quiz and test. It's impossible not to like her, since she really goes out of her way to make the material easy and understandable. She won't burden you with extra information or material. Have fun!
I took this teacher for Biology of human sexuality and Fund. of Bio I. Human sexuality was a really easy class. She is a really easy teacher and definitly there to help you! Fund. of bio, was a hard class but she made it a lot easier. You really have to pay attention to her lectures and you might have to visit her office for some help but she is GR
Dr. C is really nice and her class is very interesting. Most stuff comes from powerpoint and the test are not a breeze but if you study just a little, you will pull off a B.
Good teacher, interesting class, quizes are open book, many of the tests' questions are from the quizes, attendance is very important. Easy class.
She's really easy and funny too. The quizzes are all open note/book, you really dont have to write down notes, just print them off of webct, the worksheets are easy, the only thing you really have to do is study for the tests and the do the 5 page essay about any sex related topic and thats it!
who are all these people kidding?? shes HORRIBLE!! tests are hard as hell! gives random quizes on the computer.BORING lectures she just reads off of her powerpoint. Not understanding at all and very hard to talk too..and who said shes hot?!?! LOL thats a joke
She was great! Open book quizes online were really easy, and a great help with tests. Didn't have to write notes since you could just print the power point. I always knew what to study for tests, great teacher! I got an easy A!! Plus I learned a lot about sex biology!
She's average, I wouldn't say she's amazing like everyone else, but she's decent. She's nice and will help you if you need it, all her powerpoints are online, all quizzes are through webCT but her tests are pretty hard and her lectures seem sooo much longer than what they are. I duno she's alright probably wouldn't take her again though.
She is a good teacher, but I barely pay attention to her. All quizzes are exactly what is on the printed out lecture notes. My first test I got a B on it, and all I did was study off the lecture notes. I think it was harder to try and understand what she was saying in class, as opposed to just studying on your own from the lecture notes.
The hardest class I ever took in my life.I had her for fundamentals of biology and took her for micro thinking it would be just as simple WRONG lol. Half the class dropped her and i can see why.You need to dedicate your life to his class to pass it.Test are super hard and she just reads off the slides. She is not even teaching it this fall i see wh
Very very easy! Just print the slides off line and you are good to go! Never cracked the book just studied from the power points and quizzes. She is very clear on what she teaches and breaks down the info so you can really understand it. DEF RECOMMEND HER!! I dont even like science and I got an A on every test!
I am now in A&P 1 and much of the information I learned in Ms. C's class prepared me to do well in A&P. She provides you with all of the info you need to do well on her tests - BUT YOU MUST STUDY. I am poor in science and I made an A.
She needs to put more helps out there.
Cool teacher. Has her for bio of sexuality, which is challenging at first but gets easier and is very interesting. She is hardcore about attendance but her lectures are interesting and she's fun. Not too hard to pull a B in the class if you do all the work and she makes it interesting. Definite recommendation! Love Cravaritis.
Who ever thought that learning about sex would be easy, is wrong. However, it was a very fun and interesting class. Not to mention the teacher is awesome. i would recommend taking this class but just be prepared to study.
I was really nervous about taking Biology but this was my favorite class. You have to study but directions are clear. Just print out the notes ahead of time and follow along. Great class and lots of fun!
Dr C is a wonderful teacher, I would recommend her to anyone that needs this class. Make sure you print out your notes before lecture and follow along. All of her lecture test come from these notes
Pleaseeeeeeee If you like science take her, you will have a lot to study.. she's prety hard. I spent 4 to 6 h to study, but still can't get her note...The class could have been easier, but she makes it difficult... she needs to put more....Just had her for fall 2008 i'm fithing for a c... will never take her again
Great teacher overall. She really cares about you and how you do in her class.i wont say this class is an easy A but its not hard as long as you study.I HIGHLY recomend that you take her.
great prof. took her lab and lecture; passionate about science. you dont need the book, just make sure you print out the powerpoints and bring them to class. quizes are a piece of cake. Just make sure you study for the tests. wish she would teach Microbiology
This class wasnt the easiest but it wasnt the hardest. You have to put in effort. The quizzes were generally easy, the tests you NEED to study for cause they're hard. You dont really need the text book, but it can help. The assignments were ok. She's very nice. She kind of resembles Tiffany Amber Thiessen, lol. Just put effort in and you'll be fine
Teacher is very very nice !!! she is always there to help ... you have to be willing to study for her test but if you do you'll have no problem getting an A. there is 5 test and the 5th test is the final which id only a few chapters ... if u have trouble with bio take her she will help so so much!!!!!
Dr.c is a great teacher! print out her notes and take notes on them from lecture and that is what her lecture tests will be on. you need to study alot though because you need to understand all the material. the lab you only have midterm and final and they are difficult. you are only allowed to miss on day of lab. i would take her again!
Fantastic Professor! She is always available and helpful. Print out the powerpoint notes before each lecture and study from them. Her tests were hard especially lab practicals. You need to put the time in to study. She loves what she does and she made it enjoyable for me. I would recommend her. Wish she was teaching micro.
funny and a good teacher. Notes are extremely useful
She is the best teacher I have ever had. Great!! She really wants to help you.. You do have to study but she is good, take her. I recommend her 100% I just dont have anything else to say. She's greatttt!!!!
AWESOME
Good teacher and extremely helpful. Has online, open note and slide quizzes after each section, 4 exams, 2 lab practicals and very minimal HW. She drops lowest grades in quizzes, tests and lab quizzes. Advice, be sure to double check your answers on online quizzes sometimes you can have an answer right and it was marked as wrong.
Took this class online, the work is clear (not including the discussions) and the quizzes are right from the book. Make sure you do the discussions exactly as she ask or she will give you 0 out of 10 points. Overall good class, easy A.
I took this class online and it was awful. If you have a good GPA, do not take her unless you want to fail. She gives weekly tests and only gives 20 minutes for you to take them. It takes hers days before she will get back to you. Way to much work for an online class and she does not grade on a curve... I do not reccommend her .........
Took her ONLINE, the material is easy to grasp and the book presents interesting info. HOWEVER be prepared to go over EVERY SINGLE QUIZ/EXAM because there are ALWAYS several mistakes, and she WILL mark them wrong. Her discussions are to be done EXACT, and she takes FOREVER to respond to emails. BUT best out of all BSC1026 prof, so good luck :-/
Ok, so I took her for Fundamentals of Bio 1. Her class deffinately wasnt easy, but it wasnt impossible to get a good grade. She gives out 10 lab quizzes and 10 lecture quizzes with unlimited time, 4 tests, 4 homework assignments and a lab practical. You have to STUDY for her tests or you will fail!! Overall pretty good class, but not an easy A.
She is awesome. She always tries to help students. and hot!!
She really knows what she's talking about, but her tests are pretty specific & you have to study for them! Unless you are super smart at memorizing LOTS of info from the powerpoint notes. She doesn't require you to read the $170 textbook she tells you to get cuz she uses pwrpnt notes. Her quizzes are online(not tests) so you can easlily use notes.
It's difficult material, but she is great at explaining everything and she will take as much time out of class as you need to help you. She has a querky sense of humor too. I loved taking her class
If you always show up to her class ready to learn, and you actually study for the tests, then this is an easy class. However, I suppose this class may be hard if you were expecting to get an A for simply showing up. I personally think that Dr. Cravaritis is an excellent professor, and I also think that her tests were fair.
you have to study a lot. As long as you do that you'll be fine.
Amazing teacher! Come to lecture and take notes and you'll be fine. As long as you're a decent student that cares about their grade then you'll succeed in her class. She's very helpful and always responds to emails ASAP. Would definitely take her again if I had the chance!! Her tests can be kind of hard but as long as you study and review the material everyday you'll be good.
Nice Lady, very hard to pass. class started with 27 ended with 9 students highest grade in class was an 81 percent. VERY VERY VERY hard grader i was 0.3 away from a C and ended with a D+. Lots of work homework and you need lots of Study time, if not you will fail.
not easy, learn on your own, test are very hard and dose not go by what she teaches. She told us she only picks a couple of questions for the test and lets the computer pick all the rest. Extra credit is included in test yet i think it still affects your grade. I am straight A student and Got a C, and did all of my work never missed class.
Tough class. MUST study, watch lectures(test material from here), go to lab. Lab and lecture quizzes weekly. Final NOT cumulative. Provides lab practical study guide. Was a lot of work but I kept up with it and made an A without too much struggle. Very nice, willing to help, quick response to emails. Would take her for another class.
very interesting class. took it summer A. open book quizzes. tests in testing center. questions can be tricky but you can justify your answers & you might get more points. YOU HAVE TO STUDY. it's a lot of info. didn't buy/use book, but it can be helpful. I actually like the lectures. They're really helpful. Good teacher.
Great class. Took during summer, went by so quickly. Go to lecture and study and you will be fine. She's very helpful, nice, and funny!
DR.C is an amazing professor! She is so funny, a great teacher, and I can say I really look up to her as a person. There's a lot of course work but I don't mind it because she makes it simple by supplying us with adequate knowledge. I wish she taught Bio 2 or any other course for that matter! DO TAKE HER!
NO STUDY GUIDE, NO CLEAR IDEA OF WHAT IS ACTUALLY GOING TO BE ON THE TESTS(each test covers 3 chapters!!), these tests are conceptual(meaning, the test questions are scenarios, not actual questions, therefore, you have to figure out what answer is approiate to the scenario!)I am a "B+" student, and I withdrew from this class!!
Took her hybrid Fundamentals of biology. Started with 40 students, probably down to about ten now... with about 2 students probably passing. Extremely hard, test are extremely hard... an enormous amount of busy work. If you have a job or a life, mine as well say goodbye to both.
the worst teacher. I'm an A student. Her test do not identify her way of teaching. Its almost like she gets pleasure in students not succeding.
I had already posted a rating previously about this Biology teacher, and must say that the students who had put up postings after me(I withdrew from the class on 11/25/2013), should have dropped this class like me and never stayed with it to the bitter end!! Dont take this instructor, even if your desperate for a Bio 1010C class!!
She will explain the material for whatever question you have. The material is hard to understand unless you are fluent in Bio but that's not the professor's fault. She tries to help as much as possible. As long as you listen to her lectures and study them you will pass the test. I definitely recommend her.
This class was super hard, my first D in college and it tore me apart:( I tried so hard but everything I learned from the slideshows and lectures wasn't even on the test. If you orally ask me the questions I can explain everything perfect but the tests made me fail, and the work load is massive
Dr. C is a great professor! She's extremely funny and helpful. Yes this class is difficult and requires a lot of STUDYING. You have to work hard in this class to get a good grade. If you stay on task with all the assignments and actually study a couple days in advance for the test ( not day of test) you will pass!
hardest class ever! should have withdrawn
This was no doubt a difficult class but I expected that. I wish I wouldn't have had a full course load, I would have done much better. I don't have an A because I just didn't study enough. (also have bad ADD, super hard to focus) Dr. C. is more than fair. Her lectures are awesome. It's up to you to learn the material. Hope I pass.
She is an amazing teacher and will make everything in her powerpoints clear. Although when asked what to study for the tests she just says to know everything. And you need to. Tests are exponentially hard, and there is more on the tests than what she covered. GO ASK FOR HELP. She will explain anything you need. And read the book, it will save you.
Great teacher! If I was able to take her again I would. When signing up for Biology you should know that it will be a lot of work and that is not her fault. She is very clear and her grading is reasonable. I did not touch the book once, just listen to her lectures and you will do fine. I highly recommend her great lady!
STUDY!!! OR YOU WILL FAIL ! She doesn't tell you what is gonna be on the test which sucks, NO STUDY GUIDES! But shes nice, but her test are not EASY!!!
She is very nice and helpful, make sure you are going to attend all the labs and take notes, and study really hard, it was not easy, but she is a great professor, very knowledgeable and straightforward, but again Study hard!!
She's nice , her tests not so much . Do not take if her she doesn't have study guides. She makes you study everything & when the test comes 1 question is on there , or none ,waste of time . NO EXTRA CREDIT so don't ask. Very mean when asks what to study , " just know everything"
She has a great set up for a hybrid version of Bio 1, but you must attend the labs. You will take a practical at the end, which is tough. On top of that, you will have 4 exams, which have nothing to do with terms and everything to do with UNDERSTANDING the concepts and processes. So, you must study, period.
I was excited to take this professor especially after seeing her reviews. I took this as a hybrid and that was a big mistake. Unless you have hours to spend reading and listening to lectures over and over again I do not recommend taking her hybrid. She is a nice professor and if you ask questions she will help.
I took her for the summer semester, I must say I went from being intrigued and interested in Bio to completely thrown off. Ive went through her in class lectures, online lectures, and Learnsmart, and I must say that her exams are not derived at all from the workload. NO STUDYGUIDES NO EXTRA CREDIT DUE DATES ARE CONSTANTLY CHANGED
Bio is a very demanding class & very tough material, that being said Dr C has a pretty good set up if you are a dedicated student, about 12 the grade is tests the 12 is weekly assignments like discussions, open note quizes, learnsmart etc. Only extra credit is extra questions on her tests, if you aren't willing to put in effort bio isn't for you
Took Hybrid Bio1. All lectures are online, you only go to lab once a week. Expect homework & quizzes weekly. Group discussion hw every 3-4chapters Good thing is they are all online so its open book. Tests are a bit hard, but if you study you will pass. Labs are interesting but long. Gives some extra credit. Good teacher overall but she' strict.
Awesome teacher who really loves what she's teaching. The tests are pretty tough but you'll do fine as long as you pay attention in lecture and study the lecture slides.
Do NOT take her class. Terrible.
A lot of work, but its a 4 credit class. She listens and will help you as much as she can. Organized and clear-cut as to what is due, but tests are different matter. Tests were a bit ambiguous as to what was need to be studied and what wasn't. My tip is to grab a group of people and study the quizzes.
I took a Hybrid course a couple semesters ago. This is Bio 1, and as such, it should be difficult. For any complaints on here, those individuals aren't cut out to continue on in the sciences. The professor sets you up for success with your future courses, and thats critical. You get what you put into this course.
I would definitely recommend Professor Cravaritis for anyone wanting to take Biology. Her class is definitely challenging but she is very clear in her lectures and is extremely willing to help you in any way possible to get good grades. I met with her in her office hours after every test and quiz and was even able to get extra points added back.
Professor Cravaritis is an exceptional professor. She provides all of her lectures online, which become a great help when you want to study. Expect the material to be difficult, although she breaks a lot of it down into easy analogies. I've taken this class 3 times, already. I passed my fourth attempt with an A.
Favorite professor so far. She is very helpful and really clears things up. Most of the questions on the tests will come from discussion boards and lectures, so if you do take her I recommend studying from those. Overall, tough course but great professor.
I loved this class! The coursework is demanding (as it should be for a 4 credit class), but Dr. C is extremely clear with what is expected. Class attendance and organization are crucial. Tests can be tricky, but study and ask questions in class! She's more than willing to help. I received an A, and feel prepared for my other science classes.
Honestly the worst class ever! You get a quiz due every sunday then do another one every wednesday. She told us to buy the 80$ book which wasn't even opened. she gave us a lab practical and a test on 3 chapter in the same week. she doesn't break things down and she grades extremly hard. Listen.. if youre good at teaching yourself then take her...
The work load is heavy, its like having a part time job. But if you pay attention and put in the time and effort you will pass. Lots of homework, quizzes, lecture assignments, etc. But its all to prepare you for the test. Go to tutoring, her office hours and listen to the online lectures when studying and review previous quizzes & you'll be good.
Dr. C is very helpful, she sets you up for success and even reviews your assignments if you'd like before their due date. Labs are fun and interesting and she makes lectures worth while (she hints at whats going to be on the test). Very sweet and will work with you if you need it, take advantage of all resources and you will pass!
Dr.C is an amazing professor. I went into the class thinking I was going to fail and ended up with an A. She is super sweet and always willing to help. The test are pretty simple just study the chapter quizzes and lecture assignments and you should do fine.
Took hybrid biology class. Her class is very organized. Expectations are clear. Tools needed to succeed are provided. Continually encourages to meet up during office hours to see what can be done to help your grade. Video lectures were done well and could be sped up if you found them a little dry. The effort you put in is the grade you will get.
This class was intense. From the first day I walked into class up to the final day, I was stressing over this class. She covers one chapter per week and is a lot of info to grasp. Listen to the narrated lectures before coming to class and study the chapter quizzes for the exams. She does not give extra credit at ALL. Tries to be funny but fails.
I took her class as a hybrid class, and I struggled. It's a lot of online lectures and taking notes on your own. The class itself is great, she has good labs and is a good professor. Definitely visit her during office hours, she is a great help. I got a C in the class, solely because I didn't understand how to study for her exams, but she is great.
Organized and nice but makes class a lot harder than it needs to be. Will not let you know what to study for exams and when you ask to try to get some kind of guidance she pretty much tells you to study everything. Her exam questions are worded tricky, she gives no extra credit, and she's a tough grader. I got a B but stressed and struggled all sem
Worst professor I've taken in college so far. She is a tough grader, hardly offers help, and this is the only class I've received a low grade in college so far.
Dr Cravaritis is a good teacher but she doesn't explain things thoroughly and expects you to learn everything on your own. If you are absent more than twice you will be withdrawn from her class, she made biology way more harder than it needed to be. I would suggest another teacher if taking general bio especially online.
Teaching is great and test are derived from powerpoint's. Lab's are easy but expect a quiz every week for class. Attendance is mandatory. Hard to get in contact with even though hours are posted in syllabus. Will sometimes forget to send out quiz material until the day before which is annoying.
She is a really great professor and she really cares about her students. She will do everything she can to help you pass and she is very quick to respond to emails. The class itself is very challenging I took it as a hybrid and it was very difficult if your not good at teaching yourself. I would recommend taking her in class and you will pass.
I love Dr. C! She is a great professor. She was very clear and upfront at the very first class of what is expected. I suggest taking her onsite class.
She's a nice person, other than that her grading is super tough. I don't understand why professors make bio so hard. No study guides for test, quizzes every week. Basically have to teach yourself. Learning coaches are students that have their own classes to deal with. Tests are super hard. You literally have to be a zombie to bio to pass this class
Dr Cravaritis is amazing! I have no science bg except Bio 1. I have learned so much throughout her course, esp. in lab. Her labs are fun. I think the prev. reviews are from students who aren't putting in the time or effort. Her class is difficult, but if you apply yourself, you will get an A. Tests are based off CH quizzes & she gives Lab Review
I thought Dr. C was great and very knowledgeable! I took her hybrid online biology class this summer, and from the beginning it was very clear on what was expected in the class and how to receive a good grade. She wants you to do well truly, so if you put in the work, you will get the grade. Gratitude Dr. C!
Dr. C is an extraordinary professor. She is clear from the beginning of what she expects out of you. Tests are primarily from chapter quizzes. Highly recommend reading the chapters. I hadnt had a bio class in over 10 years. You put in the work, you get the grade. She is encourages you to ask questions and to utilize tools given.
Shes nice enough, but if youre prone to executive disfunction or youre not prepared to dedicate hours and hours every week with No breaks + stay on top of a schedule with due dates scattered throughout the week, shes not a good option. An example: we had Thursday off and she assigned 2 chapters this week instead of one to make up for it.
She's very nice and does what she can to help. You basically do all the labs together as a class (4 people to a group), there's no pre or post lab due. Exams are tough but the assignments, homework, and labs aren't too difficult. There's a good amount of homework due. Make sure you study and look at previous quizzes before taking the exams.
I took a hybrid class, basically meet only for labs once a week. There is a prelab quiz every week, and an online quiz after lab, there is a lecture due online and a quiz for the lecture, there are a total of 4 exams and 2 lab practical exams. There is a lot of work to do in this class, you will have to work on this class about 20 hours a week.
I took Professor C class and let me tell you it will be the hardest class you will take. To start off every week get ready for a ton of work in her class! She is a super tough grader and her tests are extremely difficult. She does not teach in class only does a lab the whole time so have fun teaching yourself with her powerpoints
Micro is simply not an easy class. Professor Cravaritis makes it easy and straight forward while teaching. She gives lab quizzes and lecture quizzes every week that are helpful because they prepare you for the tests. You do the labs together as a class, which is helpful because they can be tricky. For the lab practicals she gives great study guides
Overall, Dr. C wasnt a bad professor. She made the class and grading clear from the beginning and this class is hard so obviously you are going have to actually study. Plenty of material to be prepared for tests. Lab quizzes every week plus she gives a study guide... study it and youll ace it. Lecture was powerpoints and she did every lab with us
She explains the material very well and simple for everyone to understand and is not pretentious in her work or explanations. You do need to put in the effort to study and Dr. C provides more than enough homework assignments to keep your grade nice and high to pass her class.
Professor C is the best bio professor! I am in her hybrid class, and it is not that bad. you just have to be on top of your work. she gives study guides and her exams and quizzes are from her power points. she gives a lot of work so you can pass and her assignments are super easy. if you have a 90 or higher you don't have to take the finals.
She's very sweet. It's my first bad grade at this course, I sadly had to take everything online because of the pandemic. I wouldn't recommend this class if you're not ready for no study guides, lots of work, really hard exams, and especially joining zoom is important as well.
This professor is great with her teaching, however, her exams are SUPER hard to study because she doesn't give you study guides. So prepare to study on your own. very very specific with her grading. Her exams are hard unless you study well. All I can say is study and put all your time and effort with this class or get bad grades without studying.
Easily the best Bio teacher Ive had. From the very start you know what youre getting yourself into and exactly what is required and what is not. With Dr. Cs help I was able to get the grade that I was hoping for. I went in with a positive mind and got out with a solid grade! Shes the best!!
DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS... Her exams are awful and each question has at least 8 diff. options for an answer. The way she words things is misleading. No study guides, no late work, no extra credit opportunities. She wants you to pass but she won't make it easy. Honor lock for all tests.
She is one of the most caring/attentive prof.! Yes there's weekly labs assignments & quizzes but it's pretty much exactly what's on the test! I found that if I watched the lectures and the weekly zooms, I didn't have to read chapters from cover to cover. I got a 99% & didn't have to take the final. Make time, participate, do the work. It pays off!
I do recommend this professor to anyone who is going into a science degree. This class is pretty lecture heavy but taking time outside of class to do notes and watch her online lectures really helped.
Great professor! Participate, watch lecture vids before class, study for tests, and you'll pass. Test heavy so study! Provides chapter activities that are great for practice. One quiz, smartbook assignment, and lab quiz due each week. Easy labs and nothing comes as a surprise on the test. If you have an A before final week you don't have to take it
Dr. C is phenomenal - not only a competent instructor, but also considerate of students' individual study habits. She implements that into the curriculum, and gives wonderful advice on how and when you should be completing assignments/studying, as well as what to prepare for on tests. You have to put in HONEST work for good feedback and advice.
You'll have to put in a lot of effort. She gives some extra credit, PPT, and many lesson videos. Difficult to understand at times but knows her stuff and is more than willing to help. Great at helping with scheduling when to do work and giving notice of due dates. Lots of work to do that helps reinforce a lot of info. May give study guides
Dr. C is one of the best teachers I've ever had. She's kind, caring, and fair. Plus, she's so good at explaining concepts of biology that although I usually prefer to learn through reading, I didn't touch the textbook more than once in this course. If you utilize well the resources she provides, getting an A in her class will be a breeze.
Dr. C has decades of experience and improves upon her methods. No final during summer, or if you have an A average during Spring/Fall. Active teaching style. Bite size pre-recorded lecture videos. Very responsive via e-mail. Only complaint: lots of online assignments across multiple websites. This is a hard class, but Dr. C is an expert.
She's an amazing professor. She's organized, provides helpful resources, and gives insightful feedback. In addition, the way she structures the course helps retention tremendously. In fact, I got As on all my unit exams and final exams without much studying thanks to the course structure.
I learned much more from this class. She has excellent lecture videos and designs the course in such a way that makes you practice what you learn every week leading up to the exam. Thus, I never felt unprepared for any exam in this class. The group assignments are also extremely helpful.
If you are a lazy student that just wants an easy A Chegging your way through college, you will not enjoy her class. If you are a student that actually wants to learn the material, take her! She is such an excellent teacher that does a fantastic job of explaining the material. She gives you everything you need to succeed if you put in the effort.
I've never loved biology classes, especially online but Dr. C made biology enjoyable. You're required to watch short 5-10-minute lectures videos weekly but they are super helpful. All the materials she provides do a !great job of preparing for unit tests and the final and are graded by completion. Defnitely would recommend her
This is a hybrid class, and it's one of the best classes I have taken at Valencia. Her in-person lab sessions are very informative, and she does an excellent us guiding students through all the procedures. Her lecture videos are extremely helpful, and the assignments do a good job of preparing me for the exam. Highly recommend!
Her in-person lectures are super helpful. Love the format of the final.
Her tests are a little challenging, but her assignments, lecture videos, lab sessions, and in-class activities will prepare you excellently for them. Take her!
I had a great experience in Dr.C's bio class. She's an excellent teacher, flexible on attendance, great lectures and helpful labs. I highly recommend her, you will not regret it!
Awesome class and professor! Super informative, and the labs are extremely helpful
Dr. Cravaritis has been amazing so far. She's an amazing teacher and an incredibly kind and caring human being. Definitely will take her again if I could!
Amazing professor, but you do need to put in a little effort to be successful in this class.
Best teacher I've had so far at Valencia. She takes the time to learn your name and offers you the opportunity to meet with her after class if you are struggling in any areas. She also tells you what she's testing on so you're not learning unnecessary information from the textbook. Love her style of teaching!
genuinely the best prof i've had so far. gives MULTIPLE extra credit opportunities. she's so caring and you can tell she genuinely cares for her students. you can tell she wants everyone to pass and does everything possible to see that happen. most of the exam material is on power points and videos. i would 100% take her again. absolutely loved it
Dr. Cravartis is a great professor. All of her homework assignments are submitted online, and she has tests after every few chapters reviewed. She provides videos of each chapter so that you can study exactly what is on the test. If you don't understand something, she is eager to help you better understand it.
Amazing teacher. Barely passed the class with an A, and it took a LOT of effort. There are 4 exams, final exam, final lab practical exam, lab quizzes, and general quizzes about the content. She uses honorlock for the exams and final. If you have an A, you don't have to take the final. Usually 3 quizzes due every week. Tip: go to her live zooms.
Dr. Cravaritis has so far been one of the best professors I've had. Of course, the course itself is a bit difficult; it's biology. The structure of the course is that there are 4 exams, quizzes for the textbook, a canvas quiz for every chapter, and a quiz for every lab. It seems a lot, but she is a great professor that is very understanding.
She is hands down the best professor I've had during my time in college. From the very first day of class, Dr. Cravaritis' passion for the subject matter and genuine care for student learning was evident. Her lectures are dynamic and interactive, making complex microbiology concepts accessible and interesting.
Professor Cravaritis was a privilege to learn from. While the class was work intensive and challenging, Prof. C really cared and was very supportive through the course. Study in advance! Lecture is not technically required, although I recommend attending as much as possible. Lab is mandatory, after 3 absences in lab you will fail the lab portion!
I drop the class bc you have to watch a lecture videos so she doesn't actually teach. She does have Zoom meetings so you can ask questions. This is not the time to procrastinate or have short attendance span. But overall, I just think at that point just do it online. So don't order the material until the second class to see if u want to continue it
Biology is a very complex subject from beginning to the end, however I HIGHLY RECOMMEND taking professor Cravaritis! She makes bio so much easier. Do all the smart book assignments on time and get those easy points because her exams are heavily weighted. She will give extra credit opportunities but moral of the story is STUDY and WATCH THE VIDEOS
Professor Cravaritis is an amazing teacher who makes Biology engaging. Her videos and activities effectively prepare students for exams. Unstuck ai was a helpful study tool alongside the course materials.
Her teaching was not for me. You would have to go home watch videos and come back to class to basically do nothing. She does not help you to pass the class nor teaches as much. This class was face to face but felt like a mix mode because I had to teach myself at home. I DONT RECOMMED HER. BE PRAPERED TO STUDY EVERY SINGLE DAY.
Professor Cravaritis's class was pretty good. One thing I will say is don't go into this class thinking it's an easy A class. There is repeated and consistent effort needed in this class to keep up and pass. As well as a good amount of homework, both graded and ungraded, needed to get the material. With that being said, she is kind and caring.
She was a very nice professor and cared for what she did and her students, but her class was lecture heavy and she definitely had a lot of homework and you NEED to study. Her tests are in person, but if you're confused then ask her because she will not hesitate. to answer and give good feedback.
Biology is not an easy class, and with this professor that's not going to change. However, she cares a lot and if you seek help she would not hesitate to. I took it mixed mode (lectures in-class, lab online) and, even though there was a lot of work to do, I learned a lot. Lots of stuff to do and study, but if you do what you gotta do, you'll pass.
She was a sweet professor but if you work around 40 hours a week or more i don't recommend taking her class. I took it mixed mode, but it felt like on site. We had tested every 2-3 weeks on her units which take a heavy toll on your grade. Making it feel like the classwork and homework worth nothing to your grade.
Professor C, is really good and explaining, she makes everything easy to memorize. I would take a class with her again. She gives you tips on how to study for her tests and gives really good feedback.
Professor C was easily the best professor i had. the way she teachers and her homework will help you understand the material! Just watch the videos and be prepared for her class! if you're looking for an easy A dont take her though. You have to actually learn in this class. She is very caring of her students and always answers questions!
Exam literally every 2 weeks, if you don't have time to study literally every day don't take this class
Dr. C is my favorite professor at Valencia east! She makes learning about biology so much fun and gives thorough explanations of each topic. If you need help, reach out and she will do all that she can for you. She genuinely cares about her students' success. I would take this class again in a heartbeat.
Honestly one of the best teachers I've ever had. Explains everything super easily and really engages with students. Her grading scale works in your favor. HW, classwork, and quizzes tie into the test, so it's super straightforward. Super funny as well, honestly always looked forward to going to her class.
So much busy work! I can tell she knows her stuff but felt unsupported when it came to specifics for the exams. McGraw Hill Homework, Prep Labs, Honorlock quizzes, 2 Lab Practicals, and In-Person Exams. Final can be skipped if you have an A/B prior but will be averaged if not (only way I was able to pass with the grade I did). Just be ready
I removed myself from this class. The teacher has a clear disdain for darker-complexioned people. Day one of an online class not live online. She demanded that everyone log onto Zoom (This was to see our faces). From this day forward, she has labeled me as "having an attitude" - microaggression after microaggression. Rethink before choosing her.
One of my most difficult classes I've taken. She has exams every 2 weeks, which means if you have a life outside of school,l dont take this class. Her exams are very heavy and require lots of studying. Very nice teacher, and if you love bio, take this class.
She has videos instead of full in class lectures!
