Professor Rose is awesome. She is very interested in the subject and tries to keep her students engaged. Tests aren't too hard if you study. She makes a powerpoint for each exam. I recommend her to anybody.

If you don't get an A in this class then you are just lazy. This is by far the besteasy class ever. You have a quiz for every chapter, midterm, group project, research paper, and final. All were super easy. Mrs. Rose is fun, and very clear about expectations. She's super helpful! You'd have to try to fail

Professor Rose is adorable! She loves what she's teaching, and she even has her own production company with her husband. She knows what she is talking about and does her best to make the class interesting. You watch a movie almost every class. She literally gives you the answers to the tests in her lectures. Easy A if you show up!

Professor Rose is a really good educator. She loves what she's teaching, and it shows. She genuinely wants you to do good and is always willing to help. She makes learning interesting and the movies that she shows are really good. Very fair grader as well. I would recommend her to anyone and would take her again in a heartbeat.

Absolutely awesome teacher! She's passionate about what she's teaching and it makes the class enjoyable. Show up and you'll pass. You'd have to try to fail, just do the work and you'll easily get an A or B. If you have the chance to take her, DO IT!!! NOW.

Professor Rose was awesome. Very well taught class that made it enjoyable. She is there TO HELP YOU at anytime you are lost. Do your reading and homework and you will have no problem passing the class. Take advantage of the opportunity of having one of the best classes at Palomar with her. You will not regret it one bit. Took the 6-week online course over summer. Great class but you read the entire textbook in the 6 weeks, watch 10 films, take 2 timed exams plus chapter quizzes and discussion boards. All very doable but you have to stay on top of the schedule Prof. Rose provides. If you do the class is great to learn about why Americans love the movies.

Professor Rose was awesome! She loves what she does and it shows in her lectures. Each week focused on one chapter and with every chapter, we watched a movie. She creates helpful powerpoints and gives you study guides to fill in answers. Had a discussion post each week along with quizes from the reading. Would definitely take her again!!

Professor Rose is AMAZING! Her class is so interesting and fun because we get to watch movies! She also is a very fair grader. Quizes are online, she gives study guides, she gives extra credit, discussion posts are worth more than tests, and she grades your writing assignments very nicely. Midterm & final review are extremely helpful. Final is optional online or in class. Online quizzes every week; google every answer. 1 ez essay, 1 ez grp prjct.

She is one of the kindness and sweetest professors I have ever had. You watch some great movies, like the shining! Her class is easy, just participate. She reviews everything that will be on the test so make sure you show up. One of my favorite classes at Palomar, it's very relaxing. I would definitely take her class again!

AMAZING class!! SO fun and inspiring! I learned so much and it was all so so interesting! The majority of the classes, we had an hour lecture and watched a movie for the rest of class. There is homework every week, but its actually pretty cool stuff. Professor Rose is awesome too. She is so sweet and is so passionate about film. TAKE HER!

This class was actually pretty fun. I am not into movies and watch many movies in this class that I would't normally watch. It is a very basic overview of how movies are made.

Professor Rose is an amazing teacher. You watch movies in the theater at the college and then discuss them. Papers and tests are on the movies you watched and the book. Must read the book to pass tests. Just a fun class to take and learn about the movies you have watched or heard about all of your life.

Professor Rose does a great job presenting the material and really helps you succeed. The class is good for those highly and mildly interested in the topic and is definitely an easy A. The quizzes are a breeze and the two exams are even easier. I would really recommend taking Professor Rose, she is so nice and is the best teacher I have had here.

Fun class to take if you need to completes your GE requirements for Arts. Very easy class and you get to watch some great films. She does not accept ANY late work.

I have taken her class 2 times!! She is a wonderful teacher and is one of the most efficient, easiest, and nicest professors at palomar. Would take her again and recommend her to anyone without a doubt! Take her you wont regret, an easy A. Group finals and midterms and you watch movies.

I have took 2 classes so far and loved her so much, signed up for 2 more. 1 research essay, so not that much writing, other than 150 word forum posts and group tests. Plus she operates her own film studio, so she knows stuff.

Amazing teacher. Took Cine 100 in the Summer and basically you watch a movie every week and then proceed to analyze it in an easy essay with clear rubric provided. Lectures are very informative and I learned a lot about the film industry. Would almost switch major to something film related.

Her class is amazing and she really is straightforward with grading and lectures. You're basically taking a course on watching movies and it's super easy. You take quizzes after every movie you watch and an analysis which isn't even bad. I love her class!

easiest class ever, you don't even need to purchase a textbook. Even if you miss the movies, you can easily write an analysis on it and get a 100% she definitely does not grade hard, she just looks for key words. She is super nice and understanding.

One of my favorite professors. Every week there is a topic we focus on and we watch a movie to understand the new concept. It is a fun class even if you aren't a film major.

The 4-week fast track course was not only an EASY A, but provided good information to film and film history. Absolutely ZERO reasons to not take her, dont pass up the opportunity!

Took this as a Fast Track 8 week class, easiest class ever! Professor Rose is caring & very organized. One of the things I loved about this class were the movies we had to watch, enjoyable & free! Also loved how study guides were given out for Midterm & Final. Finish the assignments on time & this is an EASY A. You won't regret taking this class.

Rose is amazing. Super easy, yet interesting class. Easy structure as well, everything due on Sundays at 11:59pm as per usual and always consists of discussion boards, quizzes, and the midterm and final. Easy A, take this class.

I took both of her Cinema classes and really enjoyed them! I didn't bother with the textbook, her lectures are super clear and as long as you study the notes from class you'll be fine. Really fun teacher though.

Show up. Watch movies. Take online tests. Write short review of movie techs. One group project and two big final tests that are taken in groups and are very easy.

Professor Rose is one of the best teachers I've had at Palomar! She is extremely knowledgable about film and is great at teaching. She's always willing to help her students. Exams are done in groups, and every other week a film analysis is due (you can choose between 2 movies to do the analysis on.)

Candace is AMAZING. I took Creative Writing in Film and it was the coolest class I have ever taken. She was respectful of everyone's ideas and gave helpful tips on how to better your screenplay. I wish I could take this class over and over again. I thought that a three hour class was going to suck but the time flies in that class. She is wonderful.

I've taken Professor Rose for both history classes and the scriptwriting class, and enjoyed every class. She is a wonderful professor who really helps the students understand the material, and is available outside of class to help if you are having a difficult time. Just be aware that CINE 103 has a lot of foreign names to remember!

Prof. Rose is amazing. The class only met once a week, so that meant that every week something was due and she doesn't accept late work. As we developed our screenplays she was constantly giving feedback to make sure they were the best they could be. She also gives you a lot of creative freedom with your ideas. 10/10 would take again.

Amazing class! I took during 4 week summer intersession. It was a lot packed into 4 weeks, but it was pretty manageable. The movies that she selected are interesting. Each movie has a paper and a quiz. Paper is only 300 words, she grades easy. Quizzes are open book. Open book midterm and final exams which weren't difficult. Take for easy and fun A!

Professor Rose is an excellent professor! Cinema 100 consisted of several writing assignments and short quizzes. Very clear grading criteria and if help is needed she is only an email away. An easy class to take as a Fast Track 8 week course!

Professor Rose has set up this online class to be clear and fun! I was so excited to take Cinema 100 because I love movies! The way she sets up the online class helps you understand the material and watch movies at the same time. Only down side is you will never watch a movie the same again lol Other than that the class is a normal workload.

Coolest professor every. Film analysis every other week due online, a few online quizzes and group exams. Show up, sit in the comfy chairs for a few hours, watch a movie, and done.

Loved her! Took her fast track four week class during the intersession and passed easily with an A. The work load was easy and the movies were all interesting. Met her at the orientation and wished I was able to take her class in person because she seems so nice! textbook was not needed.

Took CINE 100 as a 4 week online course and although it was jam packed, Professor Rose sets you up for success. The class is set up extremely well, and all assignments and tests are easy to complete as long as you stay on track! All of the required movies were amazing, im so happy I took her class.

I took a hybrid fast track class and it was really simple. You really didn't have to go to class either, because she put all the lectures with her voice over on Canvas for you to go over on your own if you want. Midterm and Final were group efforts, and there was a group slide presentation at the end. She's really nice and understanding as well!

You will write a good bit of papers, but they arent to long. She is willing to work with you if an emergency prevents you from getting an assignment turned in. It was not hard to get an A in her class because of all that she does to help students, she give fun quizzes, on line quizzes, study guides, and access to her in class slides and if that is not enough for a student she will always make time for you

This class was interesting and the movies we watched were all good even though I wouldnt of picked them out myself. You do a 300 word analysis on all the movies you watch. She tells you what to look for in the films so the analysis wont be so hard. I bought the text book but I didnt open it not once. Definitely recommend! Print the notes!

I took her 4-week online class over the summer and this was one of the best classes I've ever taken! You don't need to buy the book to pass the test and quizzes(which are very easy). I loved how nice and caring she was! Do what the prompt says and you will get full credit on everything. Loved her class!! I would recommend to everyone!

Take this class online if you get the chance! I didn't read the textbook and I got an A. Just use the textbook and do all your homework. This is probably the easiest class I have ever taken. If you are considering this for your GE requirement, do not hesitate. I took the four-week version of this class.

This was my second class with Rose because I enjoyed my first class with her so much. I returned to college after 30 years and she made me feel right at home. I was nervous I wouldnt be able to write a screenplay but with her teaching and patience I was successful. She is infinitely patient, has endless knowledge, and is just a fun human. Big fan

Great teacher! You can truly tell she enjoys her job and all the kids in the class. It was a nice breather in between trig and chem. You watch movies most classes and have to write a 300 word analysis on most of them. Quizzes are online and you can look at the slides while doing it so it makes it easy. Mid-term and final are done in groups! :)

She is such a wonderful teacher especially for my first time taking her and her class. I did not know what to expect in cinema but I LOVED IT! it's such a great fun class you learn so many new thing; she does lecture and the good thing about her lectures is they're also online so you can look through them again.

Professor Rose is amazing! I took her cinema 100 class in the summer of 18 it was a hybrid class meaning you will have homework to do at home. We had the option to buy the text book or borrow hers (she loans them out. You don't need the text book at all. She literally will help you pass the class with everything she provides. She's very caring!

She was a great teacher. you could tell she really cared about her students. she will work with you on anything in the class and is very sweet. her test are designed to be partner based which was different. its like a lottery ticket scan tron so you know if you're doing good or not. small paper every week (easy) quizzes are easy too.

An easy A overall. I enjoyed the class and never thought about taking film before. Class participation is a must but its enjoyable and you will get to know your classmates. Might take another one of her classes just cause.

She is a professor that cares and values your thoughts. As a Cinema major she really expands your creativity, but if you aren't it doesn't matter you learn so much and take something with you at the end of her class. The most amazing characteristic she upheld the entire class was her determination to hear you out, its a rare and amazing quality!

The easiest class on campus. All quizzes are taken on Canvas and are very easy. There is one assignment due each week related to the movie that you watch in class. A total of 8 movies throughout the semester. One group project and the midterm and final are done in groups of three.

The nicest Professor! She gave nice feedback on every writing assignment. I took the four week online class! There was basically lecture slides, quiz, movie, film analysis. All of it was super easy. She is a very easy grader! Take her for this class for an easy A! She also picks super good films to watch.

I loved this class. One to two movies per week, one quiz, one lecture video, and a short film analysis every other week or so. She is very clear on grading and posts videos ahead of time explaining everything. Very caring but still informative. This class made me love movies more. I got a 101% in this class and I 101% recommend taking her class. :)

This class was the best class I've ever taken in my academic career. Professor Rose helped me along the way in developing my screenplay to its best quality and I'm so appreciative that she cares so much for her students. DO NOT be afraid to ask for help in/outside of class because we all start from somewhere and she recognizes that.

Amazing! Class is a definite easy A, but it's so easy to fail if you goof off. She is so down-to-earth and understandable. Quizzes for each chapter, a midterm, a final, and a group project. All VERY EASY (Midterm and final taken in groups). Plus, you learn a lot about film, and she will even bring in guest speakers about the industry.

You will absolutely love this class like I did. The material is presented wonderfully, with group discussions. She brought in a former Marine who is now an Actor to answer questions and give advice. Truly amazing. The group project at the end is fun. Would love to take another one of her classes!

Professor Rose is very qualified to teach cinema classes and knows what she is talking about. She doesn't just teach you the 3-Act structure and the method of writing a quality script, but ties it into the real world and explains how the cinema world works and what to be prepared for. Super accessible to students and gives great feedback.

really great teacher I would definitely take her classes again if I was going to be in the field of cinema. She brought multiple people from that field into class, one of which is a stunt woman form "The Shallows". And the final and midterms were incredibly easy. We were put into groups for the midterm and final, and that made so much easier!

This profesor has a high rating for a reason. She replies on time to messages, biggest heart, does not want you to fail at all. Assignments are enjoyable. During the covid crisis she transitioned online VERY well, and kept us up to date with any helpful resources from the school. If theres any class you can take online or in person it is with her!

The 100% rating for Prof Rose does not do her justice! Even with Cinema being an online class, I have never had as much fun in a college class than I have in hers. I mean seriously, it didn't even feel like I was doing homework!! She assigns one movie to watch a week as well as a quiz (super simple if you watch the lectures). Would 10/10 recommend!

A great professor. I had absolutely no problems during the course and she even handled the transition from in person classes to entirely online classes mid semester due to COVID gracefully. I absolutely could not recommend her more.

Professor Rose made my first year the best. I found her on this website and she really is good. I took her 8 week fast track class and it was not hard at all. There really is barely any work for it being an 8 week class. It is 1-2 movies a week and only one analysis paper a week. She is very. organized and responds very fast. Everything was easy.

As long as you do the work you will pass,. Prof. Rose WILL NOT LET YOU FAIL. She cares about students gives links/resources to help students that need help outside of the classroom. AWESOME professor. Highly recommend.

I've had her for three semester in a row and I can conclude that she's the token "mom" professor. You can really tell she cares. She gives us ton of information about donation centers, food drives, and any outside resources that could personally help you. Literally such a good human being and it's clear that her students mean a lot to her.

I love Professor Rose! Condensed course, long lectures (6-9pm) but breaks every hour. Lots of quizzes (understandably) usually 2 every week, along with 1 film analysis every week. 1 group presentation. study guides cover everything on both midterm and final. the socrative (in class) quizzes are the same as midterm & final, so they are very easy.

Candace is literally the sweetest and is my favorite professor at Palomar. She is so caring and loves all her students so much. Even with online classes and how difficult they are she was so understanding with due dates and just overall the sweetest lady. She treats her students like kids and just has so much passion. Luv u prof rose!!!:)

If I could take a class like this again I would. Professor Rose really values what it means to be an educator through constantly reinforcing concepts. I haven't had this much fun being in a class and ready to learn since I was a kid. This class left me feeling at ease after every meeting and interested in cinema more than I was going in.

Out of every professor, this professor is the one you must choose! She is very understanding. Her course is an easy A just do your work. She is just amazing and really goofy. Don't take advantage of her, she has a really sweetheart.

Professor Rose's Cinema 100 class is very easy and fun! You get plenty of time to do work and can work ahead even. She grades quickly, and is easily reachable. There is a lot of writing on films needed for the class, but it's not difficult to do. You're also given options as to what films you watch. The quizzes and exams follow the notes very close

One of the best professors. I took her 4-week intersession class but the way she organized the course made it easy to complete weekly tasks. For the quizzes, use the study guide dedicatedly and you'll be fine.

One of the coolest classes I have ever gotten to take and I learned a lot about how to write a good screenplay

As a cinema major, it was pretty neat getting to take a class about screenwriting, and Professor Rose was a good instructor. She walked us through the process of coming up with our drafts for our stories and turning them into our very own screenplay, and she made sure to give us proper feedback along the way. I would take her again and I recommend!

Professor Rose has been my favorite so far at Palomar. She is well organized, interesting movies and usually 2-3 choices, & assignments were varied and not too hard. Interesting hw, nothing tedious. Quizzes were untimed and you get two tries. She provided fillable study guides and practice midterm/exam tests. I would recommend this class to anyone.

Took her summer class and even with double the work in a short period of time it was manageable. You watch movies and write a film analysis of what you learned and noticed that can relate to the lectures and slides. Everything is provided and late work is accepted if you communicate with her. She is absolutely great.

Professor Rose was such a great professor, she was super lenient on due dates and gave those who didn't have A's or B's opportunities to raise their grades by a lot at the end of the semester, never had a professor who did that. Her lectures were super interesting, and the movies assigned were all great. Would 10000% take a class of her's again.

Candace Rose's CINE100 is an engaging film class. She's passionate, provides helpful guidance, and makes assignments manageable. I found unstuck study useful for study prep on top of the great class resources.

You can tell she cares a lot about all of her students, and really sets this class up in order for everyone to succeed. Extra credit at the end of the course so everyone is able to end with an A/B. She's very lenient with assignments and is very easy to get in contact with. Great class, I'd highly recommend!

I took this class during the winter intersession (4 weeks) I WAS SO EASY!!! There is about 5-6 assignments per week so make sure to pace yourself, but they're very easy. She as a clear grading rubric and make sure to participate in module discussions. you'll do fine. easier class to take especially for GE!

Amazing professor to have for this class. Very flexible and lets you decide what you want to write about. Lectures were clear and straightforward and helped with the quizzes and assignments. One of the best.

Took it as a 4 week online summer class and it was a bit more homework but was expected because it's an accelerated course. Her grading is fairly easy and will give you feedback on your board posts. Overall, super easy class and easy professor.

As a veteran she was MORE than helpful with other resources outside of her class. Her class is not filled with bloat or extra info. She is hilarious and can match the energy of the younger students. Very level headed and has an amazing teaching style. Much kudos to her, difficult subject to teach but she is so passionate!
